how do you prevent blisters….. are the socks enough and also you mind giving a link to where you buy your stuff I wanted to get those running socks just longer
The most useful running gear that you can find in the market today. Check it at https://myonlinebazaar.net/product/waterproof-running-phone-holder/
pleeeaase, pleeaaaase,pleaaase music at 0:08 seconde????:ooo
QD: I couldn’t recommend Naked running belt enough, it has three pockets in total, fits any phone and any 500ml soft flask, it also comes with loop cord for race bibs, and it weights nothing and doesn’t bounce at all. I have tried many different belts, from fitbelt, ultimate direction to Salomon, Naked is by far the best.
I’ve been needing a video like this for a while. I’m 5’5″ and my least favorite part about gym clothed is that athletic and sweat pants in size small all always huge for me.
So helpful, thank you! I was looking for a video from woman’s perspective and found this exactly what I needed
Completely agree with udders…u need them but they do look weird…
Arm band for phone? Mine causes chafing… oh yeah, I found wireless earbuds are a great investment over the cord. I use Beats 2
Hey Becca! I completed my half marathon two weeks ago and am now bumping it up to train for a full, but I did want to maybe offer up a tip for your next long run.
About halfway through my half training, I hit the wall and like you ended up getting super super sick afterward. After talking to a friend of mine who trains for ultra-marathons, I learned that the nausea and wall feeling usually is a by-product of not having enough electrolytes in the body. After that, I started to mix an electrolyte drink with my water and take sips every kilometer. It made such a difference!! I haven’t felt sick after a run ever since.:) Keep pushing girl! You’ve almost finished!
I have enjoyed all of your training videos and tips. I’m getting ready to train for half #8, BMW Dallas half in December.
Ok may be a dumb question but how much water do you think you drink during a marathon?
Yay! I was so excited for this video! I love this series so much! Getting pumped for the LA Marathon in March of 2018!
Anyone have any good brands and names of sports bras, leggings, etc. for running?
I rely so much on my Garmin FR410 watch. I would feel very lost without it.
Several things that I consider essentials, but I will narrow it to two that I won’t go running without them. It’s my Garmin Forerunner 945 and a healthy dose of Glide for those rash prone areas. I don’t think I would do longer runs without them. Great video, SJD. Thanks for taking the time to put it together. Stay safe everyone.
very professional Lunde I love youso end your video thinkyou for sacrifices✌✌
will you consider to review a running belt with water bottle holder, like freetoo hydration belt: https://amzn.to/2IK9ey3
QOD: Flip belt for sure. Have been using it since 2016! Have a good one Seth!
@Seth, I have been following your journey searching for a running watch and reading the comments. There are so many choices. My main gripe and reason for not purchasing is battery life and need to charge regularly. I dont need the frills so I am considering Suunto 9 baro or Cronos Apex. Did you consider either of these watches before arriving to the Polar Vantage V?
Great tips, I’m to self conscious at the min to go running outdoors my husband says it’s easier then treadmill running.
What about tech staff like cams, gimbal, cam stick, drone etc.?
Definitely the flip belt. Can’t wait to get my hands on the metaracer shoes
I’ve been following your journey, I’m loving all of it. What excersise did you start with when you were at your biggest?
QOD: triggerpoint foam roller, i had alot of issues with shin splints and IT band but a foam roller rolls these away.
I love my Montane Minimus jacket super light weight, but great protection against the wind and rain. I also recently purchased an Osprey Duro running pack. Great to be able to do long runs with plenty water. But the thing that is keeping me running is the ViewRanger app on my phone. I am 15% into a 500 miles in a year challenge. The simple app is great for logging my runs on Dartmoor, UK, where I am very fortunate to live.
Love the channel.
QotD: for me the most motivating pieces of gear was my watch. Progress, even the slightest, is something that really works for me. And numbers are quite objective. Plus in the beginning (and I am rookie) progress is very slow, hardly noticeable.
Awesome video:) I have done 4 half marathons and am doing my first full at the end of October which is so scary!! The thing I am most nervous about is having to go toilet halfway through lol
Between udder bag and hydration bag…which one would u suggest..
QD: Aftershokz Aeropex! These (and a little caffeine) get me going in those runs before sunrise.
Can you recommend some good walking shoes, i have a bad back and can’t run but as you mentioned i do bodyweight exercises and rowing and so on? Thank you again for a great site. Gary
Same problem you had, here with my knee, but, 20 days off trainning. Gonna look for this board in Brazil!!
You’re actually the only youtuber that I’ve see that wrote “and more” in the title and legitimately had more content in the vid
QOD: My life changer is: Compeed Stick Anti Blaren! I use it when I try new shoes, or to avoid a shirt to irritate my skin. Before I was using pleisters which never stayed fixed and I ended with my feet bleeding… It’s like Vaseline but better, (easier to apply) You should try it! (You have to apply it before anything start to hurt, and I promise you won’t believe it! No more enjured foot!)
Hi Becca! Have you ever had an injury from running (like shin splint) and if yes, how did you deal with it?
Can you do a video talking about running in the rain and also in the dark? How to you protect your phone and headphones? What do you normally wear? I know winter is coming and need some ideas about running in the dark. Thanks!
Qod: 1. Garmin 645
2. Aeropex headphone
3. Compression socks
4. Running vest
5. Travel size hairspray for jerks
I call it my anti-bags-spray
Still looking for some good hair elastics though..and shoes..I need more shoes, more, mooooreee:P
I see ADIDAS anywhere:D And I just find out Runtastic is owned by ADIDAS:D
Who else came here thinking he was reviewing Nipsey hussles clothing line?
My Koala Clip. With a phone that is fairly large, it doesn’t fit in many pockets or gear pouches. The Koala Clip is ordered to fit your specific phone. It clips on my bra, waist etc. Also, it’s water proof. Never leave the house without it.
Could you let me know what equipment you use when you run? Like where do you carry your phone etc xx
-Garmin forerunner 45
-Brooks Ghost 12
-handheld bottle w strap
-Perfect. Running fanny
-adidas socks
-adidas adizero adios boost
-gaiam foam roller
-Buffs
-Blackweb sport wireless buds
-JBL flip 3 bluetooth speaker
The jaybirds vista aren’t good if you sweat too much. They kept falling out.
Just wondering could you do a beginners guide to gear I’ve just started out I’ll be running walking for a week naw and absolutely loving it but I can’t afford to spend a lot of money on the sport at the moment as I don’t have a job could you maybe do a budget friendly video.
Full list of stuff I bring on a run, from simplest to accessories. My underpants and thermotech socks, T-shirt and shorts, pounamu, shoes, Garmin instinct, dog collar, leash, treats, Jock (dog), me.
Yeh.
ty for it….its really good information…bcoz india is too hot..and we weat more..while running and playing football
In my case, as I get older, my eyes sight requires glasess for short view distances. I wear bifocal safety glases with tinted glass…you just need to move your eyes downward to check your metrics. Plain and simple. Cheers from Mexico.
THANK YOU! Very useful tips. Love your presentation, your voice tone and all…:)
It calls “naked belt” which is basically a belt around tour waist for your phone, gels, keys, and flex bottle. Just amazing:)
QD: The black diamond light weight screen tap gloves were a go to up here in VT this past winter. Very happy with them in temps as low as -5 to 45 degrees F.
I found this awesome running pack on amazon. Check it out
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079LZG2V4/ref=as_li_qf_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=brettg-20&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B079LZG2V4&linkId=cc0970f9957825e173d1c178ba0f7eb3
Without my electric foam roller wouldn’t be able to run and break down distance, pace and time PRs. Also concentrate beetroot juice which helps me recover faster.
One piece that’s really helping me is my Aftershokz Titanium Headphones. They allow me to hear oncoming vehicles, and bikers, and just anything around me since they are open ear design. Also allows for listening to audiobooks and hearing the sounds of nature around me on my longer runs.
Hey Sarah could u do a video on what u ate the first week or two or what kinda meal plans u made when u joined slimming world xxx
Just listen to my phone without headphones. Can’t tell you how many times I have gotten surprised by cars or people while running with ear phones in.
Specialized gear? Well, all kinds of gloves and headbands for the cold, but more than anything else: wind block undies. There are so many days that would be off limits for running without them.
hey seth, what’s your opinion on the chest heart rate monitor? i’m looking into buying one, looking for a profession view.
Great video! I need to check out some of those. My favorite running gear are my CEP calf sleeves, CEP compression socks, Timex Ironman watch (Yeah, I know, old school, but I’ve been wearing it for many, many years) and something very similar to your flipbelt that I got for free at the expo from Cigna at this year’s Disney Marathon. It is big enough for my phone without taking it out of the case and for some Gus as well. I also am a big fan of the Gu Roctane that you show in this video. For shoes, I have been wearing Asics forever, and currently have two pair of Nimbus 20, plus a pair of Cumulus 20.
I carry pepper spray! As a women out running you can never be to careful and they have small ones
I like this music, just an tip wear tracks because you have skinny legs. Good work. keep going man
I think the most helpful thing I’ve acquired since I started running has been my Garmin watch. It’s provided me with greater information about my pace and performance in real time, that I can utilize during my run.
Currently I’m warming up to some real, high quality running shoes (Brooks ghost 12 for road runs, and Salomon Senseride 3 for trails). This is a huge departure from my UA micro G pursuits, which I started my running journey with last summer, but I can already feel my feet are much happier in the new shoes. The leg muscles have yet to adapt though.
Loved your tips on all the gear! Next I want to invest in a good watch as I use my phone currently. Yesterday I ran my first ever half marathon and it went amazing! I am on that runners high and ready to see where it takes me next!!!
I agree! It has to be the right shoes and not based off a cool looking pair. Great video!
QOD: Salomon ADV Skin 12 Trail Running Pack
I just started running last year and primarily run to and from work. The 12L Salomon trail pack is big enough to bring a change of clothes and lunch to work if I have to. It’s also great for trail runs when the weather is a bit variable or cold.
What’s a good slant board brand? Same issues w the same knee lol
Brock, you just motivated me to keep the continuity in exercising!! Awesome tips as always!!!
I stabilize my headphones by looping the left side under my bra strap.
I like how straight up your advice is man.. no humility involved just realistic for the short guy! Keep being you in every video and thanks
QD: I dont know why but the Fenix 6x. I think its because the music feature works pretty good and I don’t have to carry my phone for the runs.
My Flipbelt, same as yours.
Superb for my long runs. Holds so much stuff, including their drinks bottles. Hardly know you’re wearing it.
i thought she was libbys sister from 90 day fiance for a second there
You asked… in early 2020, and I’m in the Northern Hemisphere. So, it has to be my lightweight Black Diamond Head Torch (it could be even better if they would stick the batteries in the band, i.e. let the lightweight bulb pivots, but the battery weight is next to your head)
Love your videos!! I’m currently training in the ASICS Nimbus Lite for my everyday trainer. I’ve had calf issues over the past few years. What would be a good shoe for me to use for up tempo days (up to half marathon)?
My doctor says I have a Osteochondral stress reaction do you think 33 days off will be enough to let it heal?
My running gear flip belt Apple Watch Powerbeats pro water bottle
Love your tip about listening to your body. My husband and I attempted to do our long run (15 miles) last weekend and due to about 827485 crappy circumstances it was BRUTAL. We fought for 8 miles that felt like 20 and finally decided to stop… so happy we did the following week we killed it and just finished our 16 miles the other day no problem. I feel like it’s SO IMPORTANT for people who are training to know that you will probably miss/stop during at least one long run and it’s totally ok, and will not derail your training.
Can someone help me with stinging eyes usually on longer runs? I don’t know if it’s sweat from my head or from my face and I’m too into my run to stop and figure it out. Thanks
You look cold. I have to run in sweatpants and 2 layers of hoodies. How the heck are you in short sleeves?! Oh wait, is it warmer where you are? It’s 40s here still. .
Frozen bottles of water for shin splints, those Jaybird vistas are great, and Balega socks
I thought I was the only one having struggles with too short shorts… I had to take some days off of workouts because of it. It also took me some time to find the right length of shorts for my summer runs at an affordable price. That they are not too warm and don’t roll up.Thanks for talking about that!
Put your phone in a ziplock bag then in the belt, no mire sweaty phone
I thought just shoes were expensive but I guess all gear is very expensive
As silly as this sounds, I just picked up some running shorts from Walmart. Super cheap and very effective. They even have a zipper pocket that my large iPhone 11 fits in perfectly. I couldn’t imagine running without these shorts.

Cracked up at you talking about your ‘weird ear’ and your ‘udders’!!!! Love this series!! I can’t wait for your marathon weekend vlog!!!
i remember “nah, i dont even lift” but now, you seem building muscles?
Waht shoes for supnation? im new to running and i loving it but my knee hurt so much
I love how you brought up the favorite pair of socks. I just got a new pair of drymax socks that are my new favorite
My Garmin Forerunner 35 definitely. It’s very low end, but a GPS watch makes all the difference to me. I also like swift wick socks, goodrs, and boa split shorts
AWESOME! I plan to run my first half marathon next year!!:) I’m 20 years old and I hope to run my full marathon by 22 for sure:) My question is, what is your finishing time for you marathon?!
I’m so glad I watched this video. I’ve never heard of a slant board but just ordered one. Hopefully it will help with my shin splints and runners knee!
I just get a sweater then I runit makes my running a little better
QD: Gotta say my running got more fun after getting my Garmin Forerunner 245 Music. I love to be able leaving my phone at home and can still record pace, heartrate, cadens, length etc. I feel more free running without my phone! Best buy I ever did: A runners Watch!
Speedcross 4 and julbo sun glasses, fenix 5s sapphire thats all folks!! Nothing else, just drink straight from the rivers here in iceland:)
My favorite i-tunes: the sound of my breathing while running 😉 Thanks for the tricks and tips. Un saludo!!
when you say “workout style tips” on title i had expected general tips for all body types but video was all about yours which is second part of the title. Workoutgym fashion” is a good topic. Ppl who wants to look nice and follow your channel also work out to get shaped. i bet you can make a perfect video like that. keep it up. we love your positive energy. this is like linustechtips for fashion:)
Thank u 4 awesome information
Thanks lot
Awesome video ✌️
QD: My Garmin forerunner 235 helps me to be better every time I run.
I really appreciate this!! Going to start getting into running again:)
My Garmin Forerunner 305. I’m having a difficult time shelving it for something newer. But it’s time to face reality and admit that it’s too much trouble to keep it going. Changing the battery is a pain.
Also my Ultimate Directions Adventure Vesta running vest, which is version 5, I think, coupled with a 1.5Ltr Platypus.
If you pause the video at 7:02 you’I’ll see what I look like when I have to sneeze!!
wow brooks save my feet all my life wearing adidas Nike puma etc. until I came across BROOKS are the best thing that ever happen to megreat video ✌
My new garmin instinct has training programs, and I’m 6 weeks into thre half marathon plan. After that I’ll do the marathon plan. I’ve been running and racing on and off for years, but for the first time, I think I’ve found what will keep me going through the New England winters.
Yo Brock check out Eastbay! You can get 2 for $20 on a lot of their products like the “dri-fit” style shirts, and the sizing goes down to a XS even!
The most useful running gear that you can find in the market today. Check it at https://myonlinebazaar.net/product/waterproof-running-phone-holder/
Seth can you or anyone else shed some light on where to purchase Compressport products online here in the US. I was looking at their website and duty fees were mentioned. I buy stuff online but haven’t purchased from outside the US before. Thanks for any help.
Wrightsocks for blister prevention. Sof soles for plantar fasciitis. Foot rollars. Ice packs.
Rockay running socks are my favorite right now. Garmin vivoactive is the only watch I’ve ever owned but I like it and wouldn’t run without one. Path Projects lightweight long sleeve running shirt (kofuzi wears them) is amazing in cool weather.
QOD: Hyper ice viper 2.0!!!! it is so so so gooood. i love it!
What made you choose the Chicago marathon? I live here, and I’m always interested to see why people come here to visit!
QD: i know clothing is not covered in this vid, but my 2020 game-changer is the Path Projects Pyrenees T19 long sleeve for getting through the winter. Thin, yet warm. Thumb holes. Slit for GPS watch, which is super cool. It may be intentionally loose fitting, as I found the Small to be like other brand’s Medium. But great for casual wear too.
that slant board and workout mimics powerlifting shoes and squattinginteresting
QD: I know this isn’t necessarily a simple piece of running gear, but my treadmill is probably the most important piece of running gear for 2020! With the covid-19 outbreak it’s becoming less and less safe to run outside. I’m a sophomore in high school and when my practice got canceled not only was it very hard to stay motivated, but my parents were having difficulty letting me go run. Without the treadmill I would probably have to stop running until the quarantine is over.
as of now some smart/sport watches work with spotify, pandora and apple music and have storage to dowlooad playlists or import music files so bringing a phone isnt necessary. gotta love technology!
This is interresting to see differences between Europe and us for Nathan bottles and soft flask with jackets in Europe
Love this series!! I’m training for a half marathon, and all of your tips are so helpful!
Always looking for a good light hat with a full back. Any suggestions on a runners hat. California runner and when the hats flipped around suntan on forehead from the hat back opening.
Love your content, your journey, and everything you’ve accomplished! Thanks for sharing these great tips! ^_^ much appreciated!
Thank you for being such an inspiration for women being healthy and still enjoying eating!! I cannot agree more whenever you say that going out to eat and having a few drinks is not a realistic thing to give up for yourself. I feel great judgement from people when you are not wanting to completely go cold turkey on things you love. I have used so many of your healthy eating tips while I pack my lunches for college since I commute everyday and can’t go home for lunch. Keep up the amazing work Becca!!!! We love you! XO
Eye of Horus symbolism for the thumbnail? We see you! The storm is coming for ya
please please, I beg you, it’s very important!!!!! what is the song at 0:8 seconde please??:o
Hey man, great video and very helpful advice. Would you kindly give me the name of the song in the background and the artist. Will appreciate.
Your videos are great & this Chanel has so much potential to be one of the bigger men’s fashion /lifestyle Chanel keep it up!
I got some cheap ass amazon sunglasses that are polarized and work great for cycling.
Hey London. Thought you might be interested in checking out the running shoe fit analysis at road runner sports http://www.roadrunnersports.com/retailshoedog. It’s a fun experience and will help you find the perfect pair of running shoes.
Hey Brock! Please make a video on summer colors and dressing for shorter men or at least an article. I read an article on autumn guide on your website. Please please please.
Fun tip. If you download the jaybird app on your phone you can adjust and individualize the sound profile on the buds.
Totally forgot you live in AZ when I immediately went, “oh, I recognize those mountains”
The Rise of the Ultra Runners is greatI just ran a 130 mile Backyard marathon after listening to that audio book!
What do u think about Flipbelts? Are they good for running? Ps great helpful video
Finally upgraded from a Fitbit to a garmin instinct. ($225) It has completely changed and improved my training. (And it’s comfortable, super rugged, and I only charge it weekly. )
You are Awesome man, Keep making more videos, Love from INDIA
I am a beginner 5K. I am being real here. I had to stop each race to empty my bladder. How do you hold your bladder for a marathon?
I can’t do as many pullups as you but I look alot more muscular than you
Thanks for that Sarah. For newbies to running I can’t recommend Parkrun highly enough inclusive, friendly, supportive and it’s not competitive. It’s been great for me and helped loads. https://www.parkrun.org.uk/events/events/
Plasters on nipples. And i find better quality plasters are worth the extra.
I love my Trekz Aftershokz Air headphones, don’t think I could ever go back to in ear headphones!
My Flipbelt holds my Galaxy Note9, with an Otterbox case (just a simple cover) and pop socket. So, they are quite roomy
QoD: My Stryd running foot pod. Being in lockdown for 3 weeks and counting. I don’t have and don’t like treadmills, running indoors without GPS Is really inaccurate for pace and distance. So the Stryd helps and paired with a good chest strap or Scosche Rhythm+, i am able to begin my low HR Maffatone training. So, it’s really not junk miles indoors.
I live in Singapore. Temperature always around 30 degrees with 80% humidity. Hydration needed above 10K where the Ultimate Direction Hydration Belt sits nicely on my bum and it features a pouch for fuel and bungees for a spare shirt. Keeping the feet cool with Defeet Aireator socks.
I have been following your Slimming World journey and wondered at what point you began running? I am also on SW and 17 pounds down but at size 16/18 I wonder if I should wait to start? I tried C25k and found it so hard!!!
