perfect video. thanks also for the ccm sticks comparison. i hope you will do similar for easton sticks
this was more helpful and informative than what i had to watch at work.
Witch one is better, ccm jetspeed ft2, or bauer nexus 2n pro?
i don’t know if anyone will see this, but i’m in the market for a new stick. i’m an offensive defensemen playing AA U16 hockey, and i’m torn between a low kick and a hybrid kick. i primarily take snapshots and wrist shots. which kick point would be best for me? i also don’t know if this will help, but i’m an intermediate, weighing in at about 105 pounds, and am on a budget of under $180 USD.
Also remember shaft dimensions:
Trigger: square, traditional shaft dimensions, rounded corners and straight sidewalls
Super tacks: almost same as trigger but more rounded shaft, better puck feel
Jetspeed: anatomical type of shaft, top and bottom of the shaft is convex and both sides are concave, really natural feel for the stick
Can someone tell me what curve PASTRNAK uses I think it’s P28 but I could be wrong‼️
2 instead of 3 but can you do the same thing between the True XC9 ACF and A6.0 SBP/HT
I’m a forward and I use the as1 but I love to use it for snap shots my then the jet speed and witch stick is the best for a forward. You should make a video on that “witch stick is the best for a forward”
Spot the difference like if you did. llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllIllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
Yes the nixus
Hmm the nixus
The nixus is so good
It’s nexus buddy
NEXXXXUS bud
I played with surpreme but I also with vapor I prefer vapor for me I don’t take slap shot so now I got x700 lite and x900 lite lol
What would the Bauer hybrid abs blade h5000 be best on the ice
Ccm supertacks 2.0 is the only stick I’ll ever use for now on unless they stop making it. Perfect midkick
I’m 24, I love hockey but never got to learning to play. I can damage decently. Is it too late to learn to play rec?
Maybe you can do a review on True & STX?
My 2009 loves his True!
https://youtu.be/E7vETTTcRY0
I have the CCM ribcore but the bottom of the shaft is not curved in..
They’re a no difference they are all costier and taping the same
Ps: I have a ccm ribcor trigger pro 3pmt
Thank you for this video! I have both 1x lite and 2s pro and this explained the difference very well!
“Bauer”, and “Hockey being dominated by Canada, and Europe”, and claiming “Legal Guardianship over everything to merely yell about how everything is bad, and they should have more andor “Greater”/”better” equipment/”support”/”they are the best and no one else will ever be better than them”(“Bauer”, like “bow to the crown”).
After watching your video about those 3 sticks, I settled for one of these(the jetspeed). I couldn’t be any happier! I didn’t think that a stick could make so much of a difference. Being a defenseman, I imroved the speed, accuracy and velocity of my shot. Thanks for your advice. (M. G., Qc., Canada)
Thinking about upgrading from the RBZ Revolution to the Bauer 2N Pro. I generally like to shoot from top of the circles. I mostly take normal wrist shots opposed to snap shots, occasionally slap shots but I’m a forward. Good decision, any feedback?
So I’m a center for high school varsity I’ve been using the 1x lite for the past year and a half maybe but the one I was using started breaking so should I buy the 2s because the 1x I wasn’t scoring much cause my shot didn’t have enough power? Btw I tried the 2n I don’t like it. What would you recommend I do, get a 1x with a higher flex or try the 2s
I like the details, practical uses in the videos, it makes for an easy watch and is informative, well done! I played from peewees through college in the states, took a break, and now I’m coaching my kids. Had to buy a LOT of new gear getting back onto the ice and your channel has helped a lot. Cheers!
Great informative video! However when you’re buying a new stick, especially a high end one, I wouldn’t base my decision solely around where I like to take my shots from and what kinds of shots I usually take. I think puck feel, flex and mostly the blade profile is way more important. Because if you have the technique, you can get off a great slap shot with a low kick stick as well.
Look at Connor McDavid as an example. He uses the Super Tacks 2.0 (at least last season he did) and he doesn’t necessarily score on a lot of slapshots.
I think personal preference is the most important thing, and definitely don’t choose your 250 dollar stick based on its looks
why am i here i have a true stick
everything else i have is bauer tho
Vapor-Ribcore
Nexus-Tacks
SupremeHigh kick
Jetspeed-Hybrid kick
What flex would you recommend for the nexus and curve for it
Does anyone just believe what he is saying because his accent seems official
I just make mine from plywood at Home Depot. Bout 65flex. I got 2goals,7assists this season. Highly recommend
I’m 161 lbs with flex should I get 65 or 78? I’m a foward with the as2
Hi! i play left forvard whick stick do you think is the best for me? 55 flex
I’ve changed my play style over the years as I brought my speed up. I used to be a heavy player taking clappers so I bought a supreme and stuck with it all my life, now I have one and I can’t get the best out of it since I lost weight. I’m a versatile player so I need a nexus stick, but I’m stuck with the supreme because I don’t have the money for a new one
How come a guy like Connor McDavid uses a super tacks even tho he seems like someone who would use a jet speed or a ribcor, just personal preference?
can you do a video explaining the differences in the 3 lines of skates next for example the bauer vapor, nexus, and supreme skates?
What stick do you recommend for a center that stick handles and takes snapshots and wrist shots
Broke my 2n pro in a couple of months, good stick, not durable.
Funny that this may be true with the current lines, but the original RibCor line when they first switched from Reebok to CCM is the best slap-shot stick I’ve ever used as a defenseman. The blade was suuper stiff and had little feel but man it dished out the hardest shots I’ve ever taken from the blue line. It’s also indestructible because I still use it three years and dozens of games since I bought it. Gonna suck when it breaks bc it’s the old Crosby curve that they don’t make anymore:'(
My 50 flex vapor 1xlite is stiffer than a 60 flex 1xlite and its not cut down
Can you please do a video on which stick is best for each position
It’s all personal preference. I use a super tacks because I like the way it feels in my hands and my shot has gotten so much more powerful because of it. Much more accurate too. But I don’t load up in my stick a lot. It’s all personal preference.
So are you saying On the Bauer Vaper 1x lite close range and quick shots
I’ve had 3 2N Pros in the span of a couple months break in times and places they shouldn’t have. They’re blades are very fragile.
Ccm super tacks 2.0 is my favorite stick right now maybe I should try an AS1
Amazing work. I been trying to get back into hockey and wasn’t really sure what to buy to get back into it. These kinds of videos help so much
2 questions…is it the same thing for the low end stick of the ribcore, jetspeed and tacks?! or those features are only for the 300$ stick?! and for example, is it better for a less powerful player to use the ribcore because of his low kick point? or that is just a question of flex in the stick
I’m kinda confused because Connor McDaniel uses a super tacks bit it seems like he plays close to the net
Can you please show what the difference is between different skate blade radius are
Thank You for the video, it was very informative and you covered it good & got to the important facts. Please keep them coming, GREAT job n Thanks again.
“in 2019, this list helped me decide for the best ice skates scafe.shop/tbis2019?85 hope it helps you out too!”
Baer vapor x1///2 vs bauer flylite vs ccm trigger 3D vs?????????? Real i dont now…
i am a defenseman who likes to take snap and slap shots the most. i have a tacks stick so is this making my snap shot worse. thanks and great video!
I would appreciate a video on true or warrior sticks. Thanks
get the one named Trigger 3D your feminist ladies and gender-less friends will appreciate it.
Super tacks as1 vs Bauer Supreme 2s pro
Which one’s is better for huge slap shots
Why are you advertising US sites over UK sites where you are based? Is it possible that you’re more driven by financial incentives than actually providing the best information?
What is the rbz again? i know bauer sticks in and out but never used a ccm in my life.
I just bought a CCM Tacks Vector Pro stick which is not the Super Tacks featured in your clip. Can you please tell me which category does it fit in based on your research please? Many thanks!
How does the AS1 compare to the super tacks? Not the 2.0 but the first one. I enjoy mid kick of the super tacks as it’s lower than the supreme one but it seems like the AS1 moved up the kick point?
Great vid. pls maybe for a future vid can u compare the AS1 to the 2S PRO pls.
I had my CCM SUPER TACKS AS1 for about a month i love it but my glove wore some of the paint and grip of in just one game. i was kind of disappointed in the durability considering the price.
Good vid bud. I loved the highlights on the ice where a player shoots and what stick is recommended.
Great vid and keep up the great work if you can can you review rbz series and other ccm lines pls
Then we have the flex… Is a higher flex Ribcore stiffer than a lower flex Super tack? How does that change the variable and feel of the sticks? I’d love to spend hours and hours on the ice to find out the perfect balance and stick for me, but unfortunately I can’t so maybe someone with experience can chime in?:) Thanks for the excellent information in the video.
I’m trying to find the CCM AS1. Every hockey shop I go to they either have sold out or they don’t have it in my flex
uh the soft heel in the blade on the 2n wouldnt increase puck feel, the dampening absorbs more and reduces vibration in the shaft decreasing puck feel where as a stiff blade like on the vapor series have a lively feel with more vibration so you can feel and know where the puck is at all times when making contact with ur blade making it easier to stick handle while keeping your head up
Man the Supreme 2s Pro looks so fucking sweethad to cop one
It helps a lot and makes u understand a lot but (It’s All About Preference)
Whoa, a British guy doing a hockey video!? That threw me off. Great video though. I’m just getting back on the ice after many years and these new variations of composite sticks are fairly new to me. First time I’ve seen it explained, well done!
Hi Chris,
I can’t decide which stick to buy between the 1X Lite and the CCM Jetspeed. I’m a winger who likes to shoot snappers off the toe and stickhandle/deke round the D.
I like the low kick of a vapor stick and its the lightest on the market, and I used to have an X:60 which I absolutely loved back in the day.
I also used to have a CCM RBZ 370 (the speedburner line) which i quite liked, and CCM make my favourite curve which I find best to shoot, pass and stickhandle with, the P19.
The price difference doesn’t really bother me as I just want results, so do I go 77 flex P92 1X Lite, or 75 flex P19 Jetspeed?
wait so u said supreme=high kick point and tacks=mid kick point but supreme=tacks…
Ribcor is my baby, I got the 65k grip, perfect for me, I like those quick, close shots, thnx!
i have been playing hockey for 5 years and i use a wooden stick. should i upgrade to composite?
I’m a defenseman who scores the majority of my goals on clappers and have been satisfied with the jetspeed.
I’m an offensive defenseman and part of that is skating up with the puck so what stick would you recommend for that
Good job man i also use the Jetspeed now and i use the Trigger2 as well.I like to change stick in the game depends of the Game style.
It’d be great if you could do warrior sticks. I having trouble picking which one is for me.
My first low kick point stick was the warrior qrl, I didn’t like it, then switched to the jetspeed, it’s great but once I’ve had my hand on the as1 I’ve fallen in love with it! I’m waiting for my new trigger 3D but now I know I’m more a mid kick fan
Can you plz do true sticks next thanks and I love your vids
I‘m a forward and i‘m really fast and i love those quick release shots now i‘m using the flylite and i‘m soooooooo happy with it i broke one last week and instant bought a new one this stick is so sick i only recommend it
I’ve actually seen a lot of defensemen using Ribcore. And a lot of puck handlers using Tacks. It really does just depend on how they feel to you. My suggestion is to go for the lower price range sticks, or older generations of the lin s and just feel them all out. I’ve used Easton Synergy series, Warrior QRs, tacks, true a series, but I always ended up falling back to the ripcor. Just feels right for me.
I have had a nexus 1n supreme 1s and 1x lite and all of them broke where the blade and shaft meets
My son was given the Supreme 2s pro and a Nexus 2N Pro by Weiss and Patrick of the Flyers. Being R handed myself, I tested both them.
I favoured the Nexus. It just felt lighter than the supreme. The blade also felt different. The Nexus was a lot softer on receiving a pass. Almost don’t feel it. The release is really easy to control and almost effortless. The flex is 95 and it’s about 70” tall. Too long for me but I’ll never cut it being they’re game used and handed to him. We also have Voracek and Grossmans sticks.
I know these are custom, but the difference is really noticeable and I am in love with the Nexus 2N stick. I’ll be getting a “civilian” stick ASAP.
I’m glad to have the different styles of stick available to test. I have my own Vapor X lite 70 flex(really snaps the puck off the stick in stride like he said) but I’ll still use the the other for all around play.
I’d recommend the Nexus 2N.
I’m a vapor guy, but honestly can’t explain the difference it’s just a better feel
Video was super informative. I have all 3 types of these sticks and it now makes sense why i like one over the other!!
2s pro or 2n pro? Which is better for stickhandling and wristshots and slapshots
Hey Chris will you be attending the Minnesota Let’s Play Hockey Expo again in 2019? We live in the twin cities area and my 6 year old son wants to meet you
Do the same thing for Warrior please. Cheers from Atlantic Canada
Very good video guys! I picked up a AS1 last month and so far it beats my old Sherwood ek60. Even for wristers and quick release shots.
I had a Bauer Nexus 2n pro, but it broke, and I might try a Bauer Vaper 1x Lite
could you possibly compare the nexus 2n pro vs ccm ribcore 4d when it comes out
Does the “type” of stick changes when you go down from the high end sticks? i.e. is a high end Tack for the same type of play VS. an entry level Tack?
Where would I fit in, I normally shoot in the super tack and jet speed range
Best explanation, and very clear, thanks.
Also, you speak noticeably slower in this video than usual excellent!!
