Utter non-sense. Insulin is released from the pancreas in response to EATING, not fasting. It also doesn’t stay elevated unless you keep eating. There is no way this man is a doctor.
This man just said if you don’t eat your insulin will go up and stay up and cause type 2 diabetes…
CBS is sleeping in a mouses ear. Do you know how many millions of people lost weight thanks to intermitten fasting? You need human research? Do you always need a human in a lab to need proof? Also intermitten fasting is not a diet. It’s a lifestyle. I am angry at this report because from my own experience of Intermitten fasting.
I don’t care what this guy says. My glucose meter says my sugar levels are completely normal. No meds. All I have to do is eat In a 6-8 hour window. Fast 14-16 hours a day.
This is totally false information. Luckily, those in the know do not need advice from agenda drivin medical “experts” reporting on mainstream media morning shows. Unfortunately, my boomer parents saw this blip of nonesense and will probably now never give their digestive systems a rest. They will lead shorter lives based on this food/medical industry anti-fasting propaganda. Stupid CBS. Sorry western doctors, but our society doesn’t need most of your $ drivin bad advice and bad medicine anymore.
I lost about 40lbs when I 1st started imf w/ exercise(in 3-5months)… & then I adjusted it so I still do imf but hover around my current body weight… Started imf on new years 2017, & still doing it(yes short time so far, 2yrs 1month)… Only time I will/have broken it is during vacation, because food is good & you never know when you’ll come across something you may not be able to experience once you leave that place(vacation spot)… But every person & body is different won’t work the same for each individual…
One doctor’s opinion vs millions of people’s actual experience. Beat that.
Keto with intermittent fasting works great! Some doctors already started losing cured customers and don’t like it..
I lost 5 lbs in 2 weeks. I eat between 10am to 6pm, then no food for the rest of the day (16hrs). I eat a healthy diet with limited carbs and lots of protein. This works!
Listening to this guy is not a safe thing to do… He has never tried it to be talking about it.
My joint inflammation is definitely improved. After trying all the homeopathic remedies, injections, over the counter products and Asian medicines, Fasting Works. As a diet? I’d expect improvement by not carrying extra weight while still maintaining an exercise program. I’m a certified group fitness trainer btw
There never been a human study, because thier afraid it might work. No money to be made.
Big Corporations that sell sugar products and diabetes drugs must be freaking out.
for my body, in my life, the key is NO regularity, i get sick whenever i try to fit my life into too strict schemes, and gain weight. IF/EF/ADF are the only ways i really feel good for a bunch of reasons, not only because i need to lose weight. through IF you learn to understand your body needs.
Waaaaahhhh, people are trying things that aren’t making money for someone who is paying our bills. I know, let’s find a “Doctor” or a “Scientist” who says you should do what we want you to do.
This doctor is just promoting the same thing that people have heard for years while everyone is getting fatter.
No mention of insulin management, or how bad calorie restriction can mess up your metabolism long term if done incorrectly making the problem worse.
How often you eat and what you eat (lower your carbs especially the refined ones.) is far more important than calories. Calories in and Calories out is an over-simplified look at a complicated metabolism. Sure calories matter but they really should be third on your list of priorities at best.
In his studies Dr Fung cure type 2 diabetic of one of his patients using intermittent fasting, who has been diabetic for 25 years. He cure it in just 18 DAYS! And another patient who has been diabetic for 10 years, he cure it in just 5 DAYS!
I ate at 11am and 3pm, fasting for 20 hours in between, and lost 72 pounds from September to May, without exercise.
This guy is totally wrong. I’ve never felt good after eating ice cream.
This was an absolutely terrible piece. Fasting does not increase insulin or insulin resistance. Fasting for short amount of time does not increase cortisol. This doctor is a joke and CBS should be ashamed of putting him on.
Elite corporations trying all they can to suppress intermittent fasting. We all know how beneficial it is to all and how bad for these corporations
Do you need to reverse most of your insulin resistance and lose weight before the benefit of Intermittent Fasting makes your set point lower? I’ve actually tried IF and low carb for like 3 1/2 months when I was almost obese and I didn’t lose a single pound.
Shut up leave My intermitted fasting alone i love it My wife loves it lost lot of weight My wifes says also that it makes feel her better and more energized
