Do you change diet when you change rep range and stuff or do you try to stick to a set diet?
This does not work, I tried, I just gain weight when I do a re feed
I WOULD LOVE to see these guys on the “Joe Rogan Experience” that would be a dope episode.
I’m not even close to my dreams, but every day I will be closer then I was yesterday! Thank you for the video:)
My seated dumbbell shoulder press has plateaued, should I switch to standing OHP?
still making ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL kinds of gains man
I did this and I just gain weight and when I lose the weight again, I’m back to the same number again and it’s plateau time again. This is so frustrating. I eat so little and exercise so much but I can’t get the results I want.
Seriously went through so many videos on this topic & no one clearly explained what to do to solve this problem until now.. guys she did it in THREE MINUTES. Wtf. Lol
I been eating 1200 calories a day, scale and all. Being 100% honest with myself, no cheats. Been working out every day & I can’t lose any more weight….. based off this video I probably need a break and a nice well deserved high calorie day finally someone explained it well.
Yes, be very careful with Crossfit….best friend got rhabdo from GHD machine and was in hospital 4 nights! She is in fantastic shape, too….
Thanks for the mention Scott!!!! Great tips as always.
I’m shooting for Super Saiyan Blue! And then I’ll shoot for Beerus’s level!!
Pro Bodybuilders also cop it all the time with peoples high expectations. These bodybuilders get upset when they come 2nd in mr Olympia or feel sorry to their fans when they come 6th. But that is a super achievement making it that far and they forget to acknowledge that.
The bushes comment makes me want to play video games with these guys. feels like that would be a good ass time lol
Please. Read about nutrition and get your facts right. You don’t even understand keto. Go follow dr berg please and learn something,
I love you <3 you're so freaking peppy and energetic and full of positive vibes! So much amazing information and new ideas to try. Have you ever thought about doing a full length workout video? So that we could do it at the same time and follow along?
Just wonderful, I’ve been looking for “bicep plateau workout” for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried Conabel Muscle Marmsome (should be on google have a look )? Ive heard some interesting things about it and my work buddy got cool success with it.
I think she should’ve played Sarah Connor in the Terminator Series!!!!
Hello Scott. Your video here are inspiring me. Like I told you in the last video you made, I have been working out at the gym for six months now. And every time I go workout, I’m always seeking to improve my performance. I workout really hard in the gym, and I make sure my food is nutritious and healthy. I’m making huge progress and even others have noticed. I have hit a plateau, but I have learn to embrace it, especially after watching this video. Thanks to you, I am encouraged to keep on going.
Hey Scott, great video bro. Your down to earth approach is very personable. Keep up the good work!

Clicked here trying to figure out why you didn’t take me with you to the beach
Just received a shipment of all kinds of Hodgetwins t shirts all the way over here in Scotland. All kinds. I’ll be wearing the snap city one to the gym Monday morning.
Deload. Just take it light for week or two and you’ll start getting stronger again.
I plateaued with upper body stuff years ago but I think I just have shit genetics.
Have you heard about “Atomic Max Muscle?” (Google it) It is a quick way to build muscle fast.
I eat egg and sausage after my morning workout:D with some hot sauce damnnnnn it’s delicious
If you have plateaued, use meth. It will take the pounds off fast. Trust me
Hey guys, I started working out 3 months ago and i have gone from 133 pounds to 146, would you say that that is an okey gaining speed?
He doesn’t reply guys it would be nice if he did once and awhile!
All yall ungrateful over eating people make me sick!! Yall have a choice and yall CAN’T beat it?? There is NO CHOICE for me with acne!!! I have bad acne and I have the leanest muscular body I have ever had and I been in shape for 13 years and made it a lifestyle only cause to try to BEAT acne WHICH I CAN’T!! I have tried everything I only drink water, eat healthy 80% of the time, been to multiple doctors the past 20 years for acne, had medication for acne, had more sex with girlfriend, I have oily skin, doctors said I’m healthy asf and take my vitamins daily…but I can’t beat ACNE!!!! If I had a “trade WISH” with any fat persons weight just to have clear skin I would WISH to be fat to have clear perfect skin and with the type of DETERMINATION that I am blessed with I would lose that fat in no time!!!! Yall have a CHOICE, STOP EATING SO DAMN MUCH JUNK FOOD and workout and I don’t have that choice with ACNE!! I tried everything except AGE it out and that’s not working either!!! I’m 41 now and had acne since I was 14!!!! How old do I have to be f***??!!
Jus wat I need to hear..Yr Awesome & luv these vlogs..Thank You..:)
What happen to the show she was on “The Biggest Loser”? Eat less move more LOL. It doesnt work
They gave us the old Hodgetwins?! Hahaha yes! DO WHATEVER THE FUCKKKKKKK U WANNA DOOOOO
I’ve been training 6 days a week for about 3 months now and I’m hitting a bit of a plateau when it comes to muscle gain. My strength is still increasing. I haven’t always trained 6 days a week but I’ve tried it for a while now and it gave me good results at first but recently I’ve just been maintaining I feel. Should I go back to training 3-4 times a week?
what u have said right but i see in this sport everyone choose what fits him i mean the way person look based on the excercise he did!!!!!!!!!
this video just earned a like and subscribe from me! really good advice
The trick to getting info from these videos is to skip the first 20% of the video.
Ey man….them nipples makin all kindz of gainz…..all kindzzz
I am appalled at the PORTRAIT mode from someone who is on TV all the fucking time
Scott I really like your videos as you seriously help people do things safely and sensibly. There is so much propaganda out there so it’s good to have proper info
you hit a plateau 3-5 years ago, when you stopped growing, Guy looks exactly the same
hold up, you said to try increase the weights, I’m sure I have heard you say in the past NOT to increase weights because then you have to maintain it and cant’ decrease them if you do. also something about more reps less weights. So I am very confused. Is that just something to do with Ectomorph, mesomorph, Endomorph? so confused here
One word,” Intermittent fasting”
Ok maybe that’s 2.
Key to burning fat!
Thank you so much for providing this information. I hit a plateau with weight loss and you helped me realized that I wasn’t eating enough. I was always under in my macros numbers.
People underestimate the power of sleep in the fitness triad.
Winner of a video, I have been researching “plateau exercise” for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried Conabel Muscle Marmsome (should be on google have a look )? Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my colleague got amazing results with it.
Too much muscle and you’ll be like Trunks vs Cell lol
I also prefer the more lean look. What’s the name that grip thing you have?
I came back to this video just to comment how I did this and it worked for me!! I was stuck at 184-185 for SEVERAL months…did this and I’m now at 179-180 and have maintained it for over 2 months now!!
I’m professing in weight lifting. I’ve been working out for about 3 months. I used to weigh 110 lbs. But now I’m 123 lbs. I’m 5ft 7 by the way. And I’m 18. To give you an idea of my small stature. But I digress. My point is. I’ve been working out for a while. I’m getting better. I can bench press 125.5 now. And I’m able to do 130 a little. But I’m not actually getting “bigger” I’m just getting strength. My dad is short. So I’m about as tall as I’m going to get. So I’m trying to compensate for my small height by working out. Only issue is. I dont know anything about working out. So I’m pretty sure I’m in a rut. Any advice?
But you should have been growing more should have a Bigger Goal You make a small goal and you stick with it. it’s loser mentality
that hamstring stretch thing is an interesting point that we know more about than you might think. take a look at the book “power v. force” by David Hawkins. he talks about the mind-body connection as it relates to a certain kinesiologic test. groundbreaking stuff with untold implications. a lot of parallels with your boy Tolle as well
Do you have any advice on what to do?
Ey, you know what you can do? You can jump on some juice! Some gear… That will help you.
Best advice so far. Hahaha
1:28
Awesome video and most excellent advice. Thanks so much. 😉
Hey Scott, I have a question. Every since I’ve been working out, I’ve lost a lot of weight. Now I’m at the weight I want to be. Now my goal is to grow my muscles. How do I achieve this?
I never worked out back and shoulders before for some reason, just started 2 months ago and have made all kinds of back and shoulder gainz I love the feeling of a ripped back and also hamstrings on leg day.
Love your personality, very smart but humble!! Down to earth ‘
Ahahahaahahahah Dragonball metaphors im so done, nice vid man
There’s body hacks you can do to make more gains like workout on an empty stomach to produce more growth hormone. Don’t eat late at night so you gotta empty stomach while you sleep because you make growth hormone while you sleep but not eating you will produce more. Use creatine. Listening to delta wave while you sleep put you in a deep sleep so you make even more growth hormone. Learn how the body works and hack it but be safe.
Imagine these guys in like 20 years.. 2 swole old men talking about “gainz”:D
3 min of empty talk at the beginning… get to the point pls
What adult is seriously working out regularly and eating only 1400 calories a day? That’s a surefire way to make your body think you’re starving it. Even 1540 calories is too little unless you’re under 5ft tall.
I loved this video. Even in all my experience..this is something I really needed bro.
Great video Scott. I agree 100%. I like the positive spin on the plateau by looking at what you’ve accomplished. I’ve also reached to the point where I am very happy with my physique, and you are correctjust maintaining a natural highly aesthetic body is a huge challenge! You’ve gotta continue killing it at the gym and getting proper nutrition. Forearms have always been tough for me to target so I’ll check out those grip tools too (using your code, thanks!)
“Come out of the bushes on you” hahaha hodgetwins flash back lol
Close you’re eyes at 1-30 seconds and let you’re imagination go to work.. Lol
Anyone else think they say “Tired of this email”??? I know they’re saying Title, but they get me every time LOL
I have a thyroid condition and it’s been a struggle to keep the weight off
Yep. i know the bad fat is the reason that stopping 6 pack coming outside even we work out well. Between I saw an interview with body building champion where he talks about 7 odd foods he eats to keep his abs hard. worth watch here now bit.ly/14MecCy?=iyevx
Exactly what I did.. my weight loss stalled after having lost 5kg. Was training and calorie deficient n no drop. So I ate a bit more but did stay in calorie deficit, didn’t go to the gym a few days and sure enough I dropped 3kg in 2 weeks.
COME OUTTA THE BUSHES!!!!!!
STAB EM’!!!!!!!!
HE GOT AWAY MAYNEEEEE
My question is, how would I go from calorie deficit and HIIT to lifting weights and calorie intake without gaining weight back?
If you ever hear “survival mode” on a video thats the time to quit watching. Survival mode doesn’t happen until after like 40 days of zero food, no calories.
I think I’m in love with this women, not completely sure yet!!!
hi scott! hope you keep going with these videos! it really helps! thanks by the way!
Definitely not the video I expected, but great motivation. Great video
Hey, have you wondered this thing called the Max Muscle Method? (Google it). My coworker says it gets people bulging with muscle.
My goal has been to lift 30kg Dumbbell press for 3×8 but i can never get past the 27.5kg ones even if i do the form good and move to the 30kg weight i just cant do it.
Sent you a message:) sort of to do with videeo on Plateaus.
hi scott hope you keep going with these videos! it really helps! thanks by the way!
thank you!!! You have given me some many ideas on my weight loss journey and my newfound healthy lifestyle. I have been watching all your videos. i am addicted!!!
when u hit a Plateau, rest 5 days and try fuiger out if you have bin doing something wrong. in the gym and outside.
Your videos are amazing, I enjoy the messages you put out
I think Wolverine with his regeneration abilities would make allllll kinds of gains.
Hi Jillian when you said you put people on 2500 to 3000 calories did you advise them to also eat healthy too or just letting go a little and indulging in let’s say a burger?
What she is saying is absolutely correct and scientifically proven. You can take advice from this lady for sure.
Buy a fitness tracker to track calories burned when you workout.
does it happen to people with large amount of bodyfat? ive been at it for m9nths and now kinda go from 228 and 232 but not lower or higher
Lol I love how four years ago they did a video on plateau and he joked about doing drugs in that one to! These guys are hilarious and wise as hell!
side q: thoughts on overhead triceps extension and also the triceps pushdown. what can I do for triceps?
Summary of this video: Once you reach your plateau you can’t get past it unless you get pumped on some juice. Instead you should be proud of your physique that you worked 15 years on and your still not as big as you wanted to be
Scott is one of those rare guys on YouTube who is genuinely trying to help people achieve their fitness goals. Mad respect for this guy.
Have sum respect & it’s just been a month you think you gonna get gains every time you go in there BITCH!
The advice is good but I also recommend streching before and after working out.
Can someone tell me she says don’t drink your calories but what about soup..?
@UnluckyShamrock13 thanks! the goal is to rock a 6 pack by spring!
I have been saying that for years just based on my own experience and had no idea it was scientifically proven, I just knew it worked.
This woman has reshaped my body and I love her for that. I have been exercising for almost 30 years; I am thin and fit but she really toned me up and made me stronger.
❤ Love you Jillian!
You fellas give some very sound advice sometimes. I reached a plateau a few weeks ago, I think i just need to relax and wait a few more weeks. I keep forgetting that gains come in bursts, however i’ve been training for just over 4 months consistently now. I’m really enjoying the training this time around, I’m in my late 20s and have really hit my stride in terms of smart training and staying consistent and picking the right activities along with the right balance.
Every time I have some workout/healthy eating question, I go on my home page and there’s Jillian with a new video! Thanks for the awesome insight! ❤️
Jillian I want to know how you keep your curve while getting fit cause I don’t want to loose my boobs
I’m still extremely overweight. There’s no way my body is holding onto my fat. I think I will continue my training and count calories.
I have been doing weight watchers and have hit a couple small plateaus and I found that adding more calories jumped started my weight loss again! This is great info and it works!
thanks so much hunny buns! I’ve been stuck for a while now after good progress and this advice makes sense. Gonna give it a try!
whats your opinion on using forced negatives or 21s to break through strength plateau in bench press?
What’s your view on Macro diets. And how do I know what types of food I am able to consume while trying this out? Is there a certain meal plan?
I’ve been stuck on weighted chins 3×5 doing around 60 lbs for two weeks. I think Im even able to do less reps on my second two sets each workout than i could a week ago. should i switch to rpt? if so what weight/ rep scheme should I start out with? also what do you think is a good weight to be for someone who is around 5’6?
My Own Damn Thread:
These nikkas are extra light skinned in this video! haha!
:Nino Brown Voice: Pretty motherfuckers!
I dream every single night it’s frustrating at times when I want to rest well and I can’t because of it!!!! so I have to take naps in the day
watched 20-30 of your videos over the last few weeks. love that you understand the body and anatomy of how to grow muscle. makes us viewers understand why to lift with correct form. also a positive approach to lifting is a must to work hard day in and day out at the gym. I was already a big fan of your videos but the DBZ comment just confirmed you as my favorite trainer to watch ha.
thanks again
ryan
Lost 20 pounds early 2016 haven’t seen the scale move nowhere since then I be trying all year
You’re simply amazing and authentic. Question? When I work out do I add the calories burned to my daily allowance
if you wanna actually burn fat. take your advice from a doctor instead of a sodastream spokesperson. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j91eC2z9Om4&t=1930s
wow buddy, I’m happy to know that you are also a DBZ fan
You do look great! 175lbs and quite lean. How tall are you if you don’t mind me asking?
i think plateaus are a good thing, it tells u that you have worked really hard and now its time re evaluate how you train because of how far you have come great video mate i enjoy your channel
hi scott hope you keep going with these videos! it really helps! thanks by the way!
I suspect birth control (mirena iud) is what’s making the last 40lbs hang on. also I have also cut back the frequency of workouts due to not being able to get enough sleep. also hard to make it to my calorie goals each day due to being too full. I have dense muscle & a lots of belly blubber, no definition to my muscles but I have inches off I did P90X exactly to the routine. I have more than one factor I’m trying to problemsolve.
gotta say when i switch from ohp to dumbell press then go back to ohp, i have always lost strength! very different movement patterns. its like switching to dumbells from flat bench press, you might gain a bunch of reps while doing the dumbells but when you go back to benching you will more often than not be weaker.
How to get stronger?
Eat more, sleep well, and get on proven programs like these:
stronglifts/ICF 5×5 if you’re a beginner (squat less than 315lbs)
madcow 5×5/texas method if you’re an intermediate (squat 315lbs or more)
5/3/1 if you’re advanced
hey Jose I got a question. I am going to a vegetable and meat/ chicken) diet no carbs except ( a little bit of oatmeal in the morning, I stopped doing this, but when I qas doing this type of diet. I would get extremely exhausted and dizzy at the end of my workout. what do you think could be the cause of this, or what I was doing wrong. am I lacking carbs and do I need to include carbs( rice, oat meal potatos ) in my diet? I have never gone back to this diet but if you could touch on this issue I would appreciate it
i am super saiyan 1 now. and walkin on that plateua in one years. damn i want to be SS2! Thats nice video. Cheers! bro.
@N41MUN94 it’s called “motocross” it’s a music sample available in iMovie
Her brains looks like they were sucked into her lips?
Must be a Hollywood thing
Baahbell, love the accent and he content ofc, what accent is that?
4:00 bro they are so right, one day you could be lazy ASF and half ass tf out of a workout and one day your body will say.GAIIIIIINS and that bitch will good asf the next day.
What if you stall on standing press, go to seated dumbbell press, and absolutely make no progress again? Calories ain’t it btw.
Scott at 65 1/2 years young, I have been lifting consistently for about 18-19 yrs am benching around 320-325.. I would LOVE to increase this max but is it realistic for someone my age to expect to actually get to 405 (or anywhere near it..).. I HAVE made gains in the last few years, but it’s like, I make gains, then fall back, make gains, then fall back.. don’t mind hitting plateaus… if only I could get steady increases from those plateau points, without falling back.. love your site.. great for young and old alike!
I’vее bought https://twitter.com/58e467a8f3b59db4e/status/742668391975096320. This produсt is awesomе. I gainеd waу mоre musсlе mass and rеduсеd bоdy fat fastеr than аnу оthеr рroduсts! I veеe Hit A Рlаteau What Now
Thank you so much, I got it, Im so active with low calorie diet.
Thats why I cant see any changes on the scale…
These guys are truely inspirational. Wheneven he says “DO WHATEVER THE FUCK YIU WANNA DO” I always think back on that in the weight room and meditate on that shit and I think to myself “If they can do it, I can do it. And believs it or not, i’m making me some fucking gains. I went from repping 95 to 105 in month. I’m 14 and that may not sound like much to anyof you guys but I felt like I accomplished a lot. That’s just my opinion.
I feel like I fight to maintain what I lose and I’m only 6 weeks in my journey. The numbers just ride up and down but I manage to lose 2 pounds a week. Right now I’m just hovering around and I’m desperate to see the 260’s lol. I true walking somedays instead of gym. I might add more and and hiit.
i agree with mrgreeneye656!… people ask me how big do i want to get and ive only been doing this for 6 months! i dont want to be big just really strong and cut. my body type wont look right. i want to look good in the clothes i have already but move a tank if that makes sense. im 34 and my wife is 24 so i just want to look like im a trophy husband lol
Plateau: period of maintaining same volume or load with no progressive overload
Can i just say how much I appreciate your Dragonball Z references. Thanks for the awesome advice. Your videos have made a huge difference in how I approach my training. Keep em coming Scott.
Wow, i appreciate that Jilian! This is like gold, thank you.
Man you are one of the rare fitness men that give real good advice and people respect. Much respect from India.
You tell them, Scotty!! You look fantastic and you are so helpful to thousands of people, you deserve to feel very proud of yourself!:) Haters gonna hate, so f**k ’em!
Lol I love how four years ago they did a video on plateau and he joked about doing drugs in that one to! These guys are hilarious and wise as hell!
In 2020 Jillian is like an infant banging her rattle on a tabletop. Her babbling is so incorrect and old. She is a great trainer I am sure. But as a nutritionist she is a raging idiot.
what is an alternative workout for weighted chin ups? lat pulldowns or what?
hey greg at the moment i have no problem increasing my flat bench strength, but my chest development is very slow. In fact it is probably my strongest lift, but yet it is the smallest in size in comparison to my legs and back. is there anything you would recommend that i implement in my routine? ive been reverse pyramiding and using pause rest with flies.
Does any body know a good periodization book or other resource? I will be so grateful!
i lost 70 pounds bro from 271lbs to 201lbs took me 6 months 5 to 6 days out of the week bro wish i can show u a pic cuz i follow stuff that i got from ur video bro
Today was my first day on the gym and diet, I think I hit a plateau today. Need to eat 3000 calories in one meal
Scott you sound like you’re from MA? Just checking? Great videos!
You are the ONLY fitness coach I follow. You’re so authentic and that’s what I admire about you. I’ve ran across other fitness channels but in today’s day and age, people have become so snobby, fake, and materialistic.
Kinda nailed it for me. I didn’t realize my weight loss now can’t be the same calculation as 40 lbs ago. Feared gaining weight from increasing my intake in everything. But trying out different methods of eating now because my workout has been intense and still no budge on the scale for two weeks. So eating more it is.
Jen you are soooo imformative thanks for all your help and all the information you share with us!
do you look like a man?? um sorta… you have a lot more muscle than what some woman want. You’re still beautiful, but there still some women that just want to be as lean as they can and not muscular…
I’m sorry did you just tell me a first year trainer can gain up to 50lbs? or 15
Thank you for taking the time to make these informative videos. You are so inspiring and passionate in helping your fans/subs. It’s much appreciated! Love ya, Jen!
Final thought was awesome. So true… youre nice and positive. Happily subscribed.
Try to be the best version of yourself. Thats the most important thing.
Damn every point hit hard like i thought i was doing good untill i saw this vid
I read a few comments and my thesis on this would be, go to a higher weight and lower your reps, keep at it until you feel comfortable with that weight and reps and then up the reps back to 8-10 or whatever suits you best.
Get a good spotter and eat right, get into the right frame of mind before hand.
I don’t think there is a plateau, people get stronger everyday regardless of previous records.
Is there anything else we can do other than count calories? I tend to get very obsessed very quickly and gets unhealthy pretty fast. I’ve tried keeping a for journal, without calories, and it’s better but I don’t know if it actually helps if you aren’t counting calories. I would like to lose body fat and get more toned and I want to do it in a healthy, happy way. I’ve struggle with eating disorders in the past and even though I am much better now it’s difficult to find a balance between wanting to reach those health goals and not going down the calorie counting rabbit hole again. Thank you!
as soon as you CHANGE your strength program you wil send impulses to new muscle fibers wich will cause you to build…
Hey Jen, thanks for the videos they’re so helpful. Can I ask! I’m currently at a plateau and have been on a low calorie plan for sometime and will now look to up my calorific intake for a period of time! Can I ask, would you have any advice on how long to up those calories for before dropping back down to my current calorific intake? Thank you.
You need to increase work capacity to break through a plateau. Radu Antoniu covers this well. I’m surprised that Greg thinks that this method will work for everyone
One of the best videos explaining weight loss/health & nutrition as a whole thank you sm
I have found that I’ve only gotten more dedicated since i’ve plateaued. Most of my other lifts are gaining except my flat bb bench and my diet and drive have only gotten better. So you think I should switch from bb’s to db’s for a while or try out an incline bb bench? Thanks.
Learn alot new things from this guy, and i am an advanced lifter, thank you man, you are awesome
Do 10 sets of 1-5 reps, when you get to six reps add more weight till you get only 1 rep then do 12 sets of 1 rep.
you’re fantastic!!!!! I get so informed and motivate watching you’re videos God bless you
Great talk Scott I have 1 question for you. If for some reason lets say the training wasn’t corrent or as intense as should be and nutrition wasn’t on point and on the first couple years of lifting one ends up without making the majority of the gainz that could be made. If they start training more effectively and pay attention to nutrition will they get the gainz in the third year faster or the completely missed the 2 year ‘anabolic’ window?? Thanks in advance man!
She’s the first person I’ve heard to mention the hormonal component. Great info!
So many better people to get advice from. You are a skrawny clown.
At least change shirts between videos. I literally just commented on how clean that Hodge Twins apparel was in the last video. Pretend you didn’t pump out these past three videos in the same day and change your fucking shirts. Making all kindzz of… fuck it. Just change the shirts and lie to us. Lol
literally exactly what I needed. What would you recommend as an alternative exercise when plateauing in weighted chin-ups?
I love how you actually give very concrete tips that no one ever talks about! Also, your final thoughts hit me right in the feeelsssssss. So true. Thanks so much x
Rest is extremely important. get your sleep, its the one thing the gym will not offer that is CRUCIAL. of course this is just advice, do what ever the HELL you wanna do! lol
the math analogy was straight genius, love your videos elliot!
I’m so happy I found your channel!!!
I love your videos, full of good information. ❤❤❤❤
I’m at a plateau and it’s very frustrating but I think I need to eat more and train more intense
Everyone got a natural limit, unless you are jeff cavaliere, then u just get more jacked every year
Thanks Jen for all this info! I have also switched things up! I am working on my weaknesses and focusing on eating non processed food.
Just what I needed! I’ve been sick recently and haven’t been able to workout, thus, feeling down and out, and unmotivated. After watching, you just lit a fire!
What are your (or other subscribers) thoughts on programs like Insanity?
Your videos are so freaking informative, and they are so pleasantly direct. You’re not being a jerk about it but you just state in a mater of fact way that this is the truth and this is how you lose weight/get healthy. I thoroughly enjoy your videos.
just going back into it after 3 yrs was very fit b4 could bike 14ks 5 days a week and still do rowing as well
Thank you for this information! I lost 50 lbs relatively quickly, now I have 30 more but the scale won’t budge. There are a lot of these things that I was absolutely religious in the beginning but I’ve gotten a bit lax on them. I feel motivated again that I can make a few simple changes and start seeing results again. You don’t preach, you educate. I love your style. I can’t wait to see more of your videos.
Yuuuup its been since September or October since the scale has moved i lost about 50 pounds already And i do workout but scale don’t budge no matter what i do
Love the honesty and the matter of fact approach!! Something about the way you deliver the content is just so motivating!! Massive thank you
This was great, thanks, I been tryin to find out about “reached plateau muscle gain” for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried Conabel Muscle Marmsome (just google it )? Ive heard some decent things about it and my work buddy got cool success with it.
hey hodgetwins im just putting this out there I gain about ten pounds a week on major lifts, for instance im up 90 lbs on my deadlifts in 30 days for the same reps
Awesome video really been loving your videos more then ever thank you for always being honest & encouraging!
Hi there!! Love your channel and have a “quick” question (hopefully): I LOVE the gym but every time I go work out my weight goes way up, I’ve found that if I skip the gym a couple days and up my calories a little it immediately drops but I hate not going. Am I creating too big of a deficit on workout days or is there something else in play? Also if I just keep doing gym is this something that I can eventually push past and my weight will “normalize”? Thanks so much for any help!!
hey Graig! love your advice. i got a tip for you. on the emails you send out. why dont you include a link. i hardly ever actually read a long text only email. but i usually always click a link. just sayin:)
Your actions in the gym doesnt mean shit unless you go home and eat properly. Your meals when you’re working out is Alpha and Omega. It’s THE one thing to be most serious about, and it’s always the thing most people dont give 2 shits about when lifting.:(
Thank you for your great videos! I love your advice and it is truly making a difference in my fitness/nutrition. Keep it up you are amazing!
But do you actually enjoy normal clothing though?
I didn’t think so.
Still awesome and very inspiring!

Are you offering coaching at this time? I know you are super busy but will love to hear you are.
Feeling hopeless about the various Weightloss methods and not able to see any benefits.I have the answer for you, type in Google as: “Hack2LossWeight” to get all the hacks about weight loss.
Question, when you talk about experimenting/fast twitch/slow twitch etc, how on earth do you gauge if things are “working for you” when you’re only expecting to build 2-3lbs of muscle a year max?
Do you have a video on macros I really just don’t understand macros Jen????
Girl you’re so beautiful! How do I get the toned face like you?? Thanks for the advice love ya
Thanks for this video. I’ve lost 35 lbs in about 5 months by counting calories and joining a gym. I hit a plateau and was stuck for three weeks. I increased the intensity of my cardio and it worked! Now you’ve provided me with even more info about what to do when this happens again.
Yay this is the video you told me you were making! thank you this was so helpful! also it was so awesome to meet you last weekend!
Wow I have never heard someone talking about plateauing in this way before. thanks for making me feel better about myself. i have been stressing over my plateauing for the past couple of months and it was not fun. really apprecitate it Scott. F

Every time I have some workout/healthy eating question, I go on my home page and there’s Jillian with a new video! Thanks for the awesome insight! ❤️
Elliot never fails to dish out quality advice. And looking at the date of this video, he’s been doing it since 2010!
“bump up your calories”
I’ve been eating more calories than when i started but still on a deficit yet i haven’t lost weight in a month.
i’m slowly getting depressed and i actually binged last week, my weight didn’t change either
The fire is slowly diminishing
So many years I try so many different things about losing weight but just one thing change my life, looking your amazing videos and lifting heavy and tracking what I eat! It’s so true that I have in my mind if I lift heavy I become like a man, Hashanah omg my body changing so fast and getting in shape so nicely that I never think that I even have like this body, and this is just a beginning, I am so excited about future how I gone look like:) thank you so much!
This is great thank you! I’ve made a complete lifestyle change almost 7 months ago, and lost 50lbs so far. I’m a 5’3 139lbs female, so I’m officially at a “normal” weight range for the first time in my life, but I still want to lose more weight. I’ve been experiencing a weight loss Plateau for the past 6 weeks and it’s been so discouraging. I’ve been seriously losing motivation, so this video helps! Thanks again:)
Would just like to know, how much do you:
Deadlift?
Kettlebell swing?
Back Squat?
front Squat?
Talking about going heavier..
I feel like I’ve been stuck on a plateau for quite some time now. I have been eating around 1200-1400 cal for a while (jumping from dietician to dietician). I workout out a lot and still see nothing. I want to start increasing my calories but I just do not know how to do it properly. I am taking about 1 week of rest (no exercise). I am kind of scared to gain some fat if I increase my calories, but I feel like this is the only way I’ll break my plateau.
Basically what the other guy said, low body fat = six pack. Crunches don’t get you a sickpack, it’s an isolation exercise that does not burn a whole lot of calories. Train your whole body, do heavy compound movements like bench presses, military presses and squats. These will burn a fuck ton of calories and get you lean all over. You can JUST be lean in the stomach
It has helped me before. Doing dumbbell presses works your stabilizer muscles and inclines will develop the top part of your pecs, and that will contribute to a bigger bench. I also like to do burst training with pushups as soon as I finish on the bench (as many pushups as you can do in 30-60 seconds, 4-6 sets with 30 seconds rest between sets). My theory is it helps to develop localized muscular endurance and explosiveness while also burning fat. Whatever it does, it works for me. Good luck.
Man! I’m stuck on a bulking Plateau! My strength is going up but my muscle mass is staying the same and my BF% is going up. I’m even bulking lean by 0.5lbs a week! I have no idea what I’m doing wrong
Jillian I have a question for you. I’ve been physically active the majority of my adult life. I have been involved in sports of some kind since I was 4 years old. I ran track and cross country in high school. I started weight training at 19. I did some bodybuilding into my 20’s. I am 44 years old. I’ve never had a weight problem. I run anywhere from 30 to 50 plus miles a week. I get to the gym at least 2 to 3 times a week. I basically exercise everyday-7 days a week. I never eat junk food with the exception of some desert during holidays with family. I eat a clean diet of lean meats and vegetables. My Dad comes in to town every once in a while. Last time he came he bought a package of chocolate chip cookies for himself that he never ate. I put them in the freezer to keep them from going bad in case he wants them when he comes back. Well last night I decided to try one. I ended up binging on about 5 cookies. I woke up this morning and ran almost 11 miles at a FASTER pace than I normally run. Is it possible my body stored that sugar as energy I used today? I just found it kind of strange that I ran so well this morning.
This is the biggest issue with your program (and any other really) strength plateaus. I am stuck for weeks and there’s no logic to what causes the stall or what finally breaks it. All nice and dandy but when you implement everything and finally get dialed in you still plateau and no one has the answers. What to do when you’re stuck?! Rotating movements doesn’t work, in fact it makes it worse (and others are saying this in the comments as well).
“They come out of the bushes on you!”
Ah the old intro ahahaha
Your videos are so full of wonderful and correct information. . You are a such a refreshing voice in the mix of all the loudness of the fitness world! Thank you for taking the time to do these videos and truly blessing so many of us
you should go to stronglifts (dot) com and do the beginner SL 5×5 routine it will skyrocket your lifts, espaiclly as a beginner
I have a question guys anybody is welcome to answer here it goes I got a job around 4 months ago and it’s from 6:30am to 5:00 pm I been working out consistently before I got the job but now I’m struggling to find the time due to rest days and my work schedule constantly interfering and on top of that on days I work I don’t get to eat a lot of meals anymore so how do I combat this
You rock!! Thanks for keeping it real. Subscribed and all notifications on.
after 5 years lifting you only can expect to add on 2 or 3 pounds a year.so how often is it worth working out to maintain, once a week or once a month or what,?
question about this. Say i’ve plateaued on standing press, you had mentioned that in this video and that one should switch to dumbbell press.
Standing press should follow the reverse pyramid training style, however this doesn’t transition as well into dumbbells as one cannot increase by a 2.5 dumbbell. Therefore, how would my weight choice for dumbbells vary from week to week whilst doing dumbbell presses? It would be hard to stick to that 5, 6, 8 rep standard used with reverse pyramid.
Also, how would you know which weight to begin with for the first time doing the new exercise? Say my heavy set of overhead press was 120 when i plateaued. How would i know which dumbbells to do for the heavy working set of dumbbell presses?
man ive been trying to figure out what the name of that intro song is. does anyone know the name of it?
Well i have a question. For the past year im going to the gym for weight training for losing weight. after a year i go on a scale and i see i gained 10kg but i can still fit in my clothes. Sry for bad english.
lookin good Elliott! You can tell you really leaned out and cut down!
Love to hear her talk, very knowledgeable. You know she probably has a lot of celebrity clients.
Does it become hard to inject anywhere in you body because of how vascular you are? Like how long does it take you find a spot where your sure your not hitting a vein
