Thank god I got the grilled chicken sandwich earlier. I will take your advice and have the lettuce wrap next time
Stop telling those things, you scare me hahahaha things in those foods are soooo disgusting!! Another perfect vid Brad 😉 Damn you’re good:P
Carlo, didn’t you forget about Wendy’s Chili??? A baked potato and chill is the only thing I buy from there
Except people are told good diet will help them by medical professionals and then they complain the doctor isn’t treating them properly….so there is that….
The trick is you don’t eat anything all day and when you finally eat that burger you feel less guilty and then you exercise afterwards
Concentrating on the one or two contributing chemical factors in nutrition without broader context seems very reductive. As much as isolating the ‘causal’ chemical elements in a given illness seems important, the effects of a range of accompanying ingredients and trace components in a given food, surely, is required to understand the body’s reaction to food particularly whole foods which, biochemically speaking, have a range of trace ingredients that act synergistically with the body’s metabolic process. Our bodies are not labs or petri dishes where certain chemical reactions occur in isolation. This approach strikes me (on surface reading, here) as lacking broader contextual and longitudinal data, in vivo, to be appropriate to apply to the complex working environment of a human body over time. There is great work being done on nutrition and population studies out there and great meta analysis is coming out on this and many other modern, nutritional maladies, all the time (just go to http://www.pubmed.gov or http://www.nutritionfacts.org). No mention of or reference to any such research here Why?
The background looks ok but thats fine because you look better than anything on a Wendy’s meal!
I actually like that wraps there but i can make my own but thank for the research
I’m great Marie! I’ll add KFC to the list of upcoming topics!

Heeeeeyyy I got the 100th like! Also thanks for making this video! My school club goes to wendy’s once a month so I’m grateful you showed us what the best options are there.
Five weeks is not long enough to draw a significant conclusion. Yourself study is bias as you new what diet you where on each time.
glad im asian, i can make myself to 85kg and 2 month afterward can back to 63 easly
No matter where you eat, there are better options and if that seems too muc we can always put a portion of that serving size in a “to go” container for later or share it with someone at the time:-) Keep rocking it.
Thanks Brad really like these videos. Do you have Swiss Chalet where you live? If so can you add that too the list?
Thanks
Justin
2700cals? Wow! That’s a days worth of eating in one meal. The only way I could enjoy that much food would be if my wife and I shared those items as a meal together. Had so much fun watching this video I totally forgot about the fact you announce a prize winner!
Knowledge is Power indeed! If I hadn’t have this knowledge seven years ago, I could be a diabetic by now. Great talk Dr. Wendy Pogozelski!
Thanx for ur videos and can you check out the chile restruant?
The EXACT same issue is experienced with metabolic disease like heart disease, dementia and diabetes. ALL easily REVERSED with Diet and exercise, but all “scientifically-informed” treatments reliant on medication to manage symptoms. The pharmaceutical industry has a chokehold on our health which is only concerned with $$$ by keeping us ill.
Uy, this woman got me anxious in the first minute, maybe she has good information but I will skip this video…
I get so very depressed when I eat badly. Following a vegan diet 90% of the time and I am off my anti depressants. If I eat badly I get very very depressed and extremely anxious! I cannot afford to not eat well!
*15% from protein on the final total ;p I never even opt for fast food anymore.. just not an option.
Hey Brad!! Do you have anything in detail with the Apple Chicken Pecan Salad? This is my favorite salad and i would love to have the calories on this. I’m diabetic and pcos, so i have to watch my carbs and sugars.
Thanks,
Sheila
i guess i need to find a pescatarian restaurant to analyze for you!
Blah I would never eat at Wendys/McD/Burger King anyway haha.
Psylosobine mushrooms are best way to treat heavy depression…read about it, watch videos about it. Learn and then use -not misuse.
I`ve been pursuing this particular “Kοnοnοz yyd” (Search on Google) around 5 weeks, and also have got rid of around ten lbs, and three inches from the waist. It supplies me the power that I need to have and shedding extra weight then any of the others..
What a great video. Please include jack in the box and caarls jr… n in n out.. Thanx
Corina seems to be having a little too much fun having those wieners flop around in her hand like that.
I’d love to hear more from Dr. Wendy Pogozelski. The students at SUNY Geneseo are lucky to have her!
This is stupid I’d rather eat unhealthy then healthy because unhealthy food tastes good what’s going to happen if you eat healthy you live 2 years longer
Damn no one noticed how much plastic was there
Edit: 0:59
Hi Corrina, great info! Can you tell me why Gary Taubes says you can eat as much Saturated fat as you want and loose weight? We know sugar is the biggest culprit but all this SF can’t be good for you not to mention the relationship of SF and colon cancer. He says SF doesn’t raise blood triglycerides.
Yes, a lot of fat, although I think nothing is anywhere near as bad as Flanders Beef Patties. Those things are almost pure grease and don’t even taste like real meat. They’re also made with beef hearts, and I heard they have a lot more protein, but I feel iffy on the whole eating hearts thing. I tried making a big dinner with 4 patties, and almost felt like I seriously needed to purge it out of my stomach or smother it with a bunch of milk.
TED would have flagged Galileo for presenting ideas that fell outside of curatorial guidelines. This “controversial” approach is as old as Hipocrates. Our medical science is currently rediscovering the wheel. Screw you TED and your flagging.
The trick is high volume low calories and high in fiber/protein so it takes longer to digest and helps with hunger
Ok just watched this and my previous post had nothing to do with this video. Hotdogs uggghhh
when i went to florida, i tasted the baconator, it was worth every calorie ingested ahah
at the same time, it seems like comfort food is making a comeback in a smaller scale, in the form of homecooked, homestyle “bad” foods.
Wow, I had no idea or frame of reference for the nutritional content. Also watched your video on Starbucks. No wonder I’m gaining weight! I now understand. I will look at these so called foods differently from now on. Thank you for you time and effort with these videos. I wonder why Starbucks won’t disclose ingredients? Isn’t it by law a requirement? I’m surprised.
Thank you… very effective when you show how many Hot Dogs those items equal. It puts The facts in perspective.. Keep up the great coaching. I love love love these Fast food comparative Video’s with the Visual image of all those Hot Dogs really makes you think twice before eating fast food.
The Question is Corrina……Did you eat the ice cream… shame shame…. it sure looked empty in your hand…. just joking
That baconator looks yummy. Just kidding (well I have had a few in my past). Thanks for your videos. I’m learning a lot through your channel. And too the haters in the comments below. Why waste your time if you don’t like the vids. You’d be happier if you just found vids you like. Relax with the hate.
Thank you. More info and less advice. The FDA sucks. They are not doing their job in protecting us. You did right Ms. Do your own study and take care of yourself because the FDA WON’T.
I’ve been fortunate to know Wendy in person as an undergrad. Years later and after completing a medical degree, I still find that her words hold true. A very smart and thoughtful talk like the lectures she would give to us lucky few biochem students years ago. Trust me, she researches into everything she speaks of and has great integrity in the world of research and education.
I have eaten 4 hot dogs in a serving.:) I usually eat 3 but it used to happen. Should I feel guilty? Is 2 normal?
Corrina, I think you’re doing a fabulous job at a wonderful thing. I’ve watched tons of your videos, and you truly do have a well rounded idea of a healthy diet, no fad “fat free” diets or anything. If people watched more of your videos instead of judging and hating on the first one they see, they’d appreciate your efforts too. Chin up!
Nutrition is CRUCIAL. 10 years of treatment resistant psychotic depression, I’ve been evaluated by all kinds of professors, top doctors,no one ever mentioned nutrition. I owe 90 % of my recovery to diet and supplements, and doctors laughed when i mentioned it. I talk extensively about my regimen on my channel, if you are interested.
she should investigate the benefits of the whole foods vegan diet, and you are really really wrong if you compare the spike in blood sugar from white rice and pasta to that of fruit:/
Why would you flag this talk? You are just like the doctors who ridiculed the doctor that advocated washing hands. I am flagging you for attempting to halt progress, and upholding the status quo that is having disastrous results and increasing mental illness all over the world!
What is Custokebon Secrets? I have noticed many awesome things about this popular lose weight methods.
Just don’t go to them, simple, people need to take personal responsibility,
I was so pumped to do what he did until he said,
“It didn’t go so well”
You should do ‘Five Guys’ next, they are one of the better fast food joint in my opinion. Also I love these videos, they are really informational and they make me really hungry at the same time.
Nothing wrong with fats. Unless they are transfats, ofcourse. But fats from meat or butter, or olive oil, or coconut oil, or lard etc are VERY good for you. Prevents dementia, raises your IQ, keeps you from getting depressed, feeds your body, etc.
But ya, the bad thing from Wendy’s are the carbs/sugars. The ‘bun’ is where most of the badness comes from. The rest would be the processed ‘cheese’ and likely processed ‘meat’. But if you eat real meats and real fats and even real carbs, you will be find healthy and at a good weight.
Eating processed crap with high carbs and fats together is always a bad idea though. The carbs spike your insulin and add the fats into your cells. Insulin is the key here though. Fat can’t go into your cells without the insulin. This is why people on Atkins lose so much weight. If you ate all carbs and no fat like Freelee the Banana nut, you also lose weight though. This is because the insulin is high but there is no fat in her system to add to her cells. However, her diet is rather dangerous because the lack of fat and protein has made her lose her menstrual cycle. She even bragged about that. Just so dangerous. And of course, the lack of fat has made Durian Rider a ranting lunatic. Your brain needs fats.
Anyway, ya, fats are good.
Is there a video for McDonald’s? I’d really love to see that one!
I’d like to point out that the people who “developed” bipolar disorder from taking anti depressants were almost certainly bipolar beforehand and misdiagnosed as having major depression
and Doctors dont even get nutrition training in their certification!
I don’t eat fast food too much anymore but eating fast food once in a while can’t hurt us. Think of it as a treat. The key to very good health it to eat a balance diet and along with it lead a active lifestyle i.e. more walks, jogs, sprinting, gardening, cleaning/tidying, sports, yoga etc etc instead of just sitting on your bum and driving the car all day.
Get the book “Fast Food Genocide” by Fuhrman M.D. He goes into great detail about the brain and how fast food, cooked food and sugars and white breads and rice, etc. are causing us all to be angry and depressed and sick. There are lots of tests done over years and years to figure out how to help people. Eat raw, uncooked veggies and fruits is the main message. I say add organic to that.
Found you from Opi Senpi -Anime Live Reactions. Lol I am surprised anything is healthy at a fast food restraunt other than apple slices
The key is how many of those calories come from fat! If its a high number then you’re eating junk food and has no nutritional value..Saturated fat is healthy yes, but it depends what that food source is. If you’re going to eat a double baconator, you might as well just buy a block of lard and eat it with a spoon.
I’ve been on Prozac for 5 months for my anxiety. I’ve seen things clearer for a while thanks to the meds. I also know that I don’t want to rely on them for the rest of my life. I had a few drinks at night, for the past week, scotch. I felt my anxiety and my constant running of thoughts, return very quickly. I believe alcohol should be mentioned as well as processed food and sugar.
Interesting. My diet is about two thirds carbs though (rice crackers, smoothies, bananas, oatmeal etc.), but I do weightlifting 3 times a week. I’d like to see how we respond to highcarb meals, as we have more muscle mass that is more insuline sensitive (compared to our fatcells and compared to the average non-trained joe’s insuline sensitivity). I predict this will significantly reduce both size and time of insuline/blood sugar spikes. Also, when you combine carbs with fats, protein and fiber, (basically a balanced meal), the glycemic index can be thrown out the window, as the carbs are absorbed much slower that way. Many studies on glycemic index are done on 1. fasted people (usually not realistic) 2. with the carbs in isolation (usually not realistic).
I’m not pro-carb persé. I’ve done great on a moderate fat+moderate carb diet. Just saying we need to be really careful with going against high carb diets for healthy people. Usually the carbs themselves aren’t the problem, it’s the crapload of processed foods (that tend to be high
emptycarb) that don’t satiate, yet make up a large part of the USA’s average diet.Keep your studies. You sounded like a robot. The fact is, the information you gave was far too broad to be useful. You do not put nutrition in the hands of government. You empower the people to take charge of their own health. I trust a person’s right to choose.
Dr Pogozelski approach to treating Diabetes is not new. In fact, ages ago it was recommended that the only treatment for Diabetes (both Type 1 and 2) is to complete omit all or majority carbohydrates from your diet. But Carbohydrates play a role in our diet. This is a area that the she does not tackle. On a very basic level, carbohydrates are your body’s main source of energy. They help fuel your brain, kidneys, heart, muscles and central nervous system. Eating foods high in CHO are part of a healthy meal. Imagine omitting or eating low amounts of CHO/ high fiber foods such as peas, yam and corn and even fruits. In addition to providing CHO these types of food provide other nutrients, that once limited in the diet can affect you in other ways… Perhaps she should have discussed any effects she would have had from this diet such as constipation.
Food is to be enjoyed, and this approach is in line with this idea that we should deprive ourselves of food to be healthy. This is not so. Eating adequate amount of CHO, eating healthy, exercise and being on a individualized insulin regime can allow anyone to live a normal life without being on a ‘low carb’ diet.
Why not a combination of both nutrition and the medications?
Dr. Neal Bernard has laid out the benefits of a whole food vegan diet in reducing insulin intake on type 1 diabetics and totally eliminating insulin need for type 2 diabetes. might wanna look up some of his YouTube videos where he goes into some of the science behind this
The baconnator is absolutely delicious! I usually get the son of baconnator, because I cannot eat the whole baconnator. I would like you to review the Olive Garden, red lobster, and Chinese food.:-) thank you.
I read below some enlightened soul refering to Miss Rachel as chubby. I feel sorry for those who can’t differenciate between chubby and a gloriously full physique. You are missing so much my friend. Sooooooooooooooo much.
6 years has past since the film appeared (and maybe even more since the talk took place). Is there any change in psychiatry?
Has this man ever heard of chipotle? I can eat that shit for the rest of my life.
Stuff like Coke Zero or Coke Light are the worst. Your body responds as if its sugar but then it’s not there. So all the next foods you eat will be stored as fat and you still feel hungry!
It’s not just wendys though its at mist every single fast food restraunt; slow food is usually good food. I wouldn’t have specifically targeted this video at wendys
I don’t eat fast food at all because of the preservatives in them plus they are probably GMO as well. There is a difference between saturated fat and trans fat. Dr. Wallach has given much details about the benefits of saturated fat. I used to be a Wendyholic where I would go at least once a week or so.
BOYCOTT all FAST FOOD.
And for the SECURITY of the planet B O Y C O T T,ALL absolutely ALL
Zionist Terrorist Products from

That’s why I only go to one fast food restaurant 1 day a week and I just eat 2 salad when I’m done
the baconator is the best burger I have ever had, I eat them every chance I get
Eat clean, train hard! 5 years ago, I took everything out of my house that was processed, unnatural & unhealthy. Now, I eat very healthy, natural, clean. Low sugar, low salt. My body looks better, functions better.
Double cheeseburger, large fries, 10 nuggets, sprite. Sometimes a frosty too.
Bipolar disorder is almost always misdiagnosed originally as depression, which is why kids diagnosed with depression will tend ton”convert” to bipolar disorder.
Researchers need to stay in their own lane.
Will Americans ever understand that “fast food” is shit. Companies are not in business to worry about people’s health. They got into business to make more money. They know Americans have a BIG appetite so they sell foods that are mostly high in fat, salt, sugar etc. and it works because Americans keep coming back to it. And the result of this lifestyle is a country that has the most fattest most unhealthy people in the world. Oh say can you see!!!!
I have a work colleague who is a doctor with bipolar disorder and she manages it completely through specific researched nutrition successfully for 10 years now.
safe your money and don’t fall for gimmicks. eat real food. exercise. drink water. repeat. it will happen…but it takes time.
I wish there was more like vegetarian/vegan fast food places. THAT would help our nation lolz ;D
There are altogether 3 sound reasons why everyone should eat vegan:
1. Health the healthiest nutrition is a plantbased wholefood diet. Animal products of any kind are harmful to the human organism. This is proven ever more clearly & unambiguously in scientific studies.
The China Study: The most comprehensive study ever conducted on nutrition and the frightening effects on diet, weight loss and long-term health proves it. It was conducted by Dr. T. Colin Campell, among others.
In addition, there is an ever-increasing number of nutritional studies that also support this fact. On the free website (Nutrion org) of Dr. Michael Greger there are now over 5,000 different studies that underline this fact.
Furthermore, there are numerous nutrition experts with decades of experience & many patients from different institutions who also publish this fact and give presentations about it. The most famous besides Dr. Campell & Dr. Michael Greger are Dr. Neal Barnard, Dr. John McDougell and Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn.
Documentaries such as “Forks Over Knives”, “The Game Changers” and “What The Health” have been very well received by many.
2. Ethics it is morally wrong to breed and fatten innocent animals, to pump them full of antiobotica, to torture them for their whole lives, to lock them up in a tiny room and then to slaughter them for unnecessary reasons & just because of the greed for profit.
The animal industry therefore desperately tries to hide all pictures of the interior & the production of factory farming from the public. Documentaries like “Eahrtlings”, “Dominion” and “Land of Hope & Glory” show these terrible facts very well.
3. Environment factory farming is responsible for 60 70 % of the greenhouse gases & leads the climate change the most, even more than all means of transport together. Moreover, between 70 85% of all soy cultivation, which is responsible for the deforestation of the rainforest, is only used to feed the animals in the livestock. For 1 pound of beef you need about 20 pounds of crops. The documentation “Cowspiracy” explains this in detail.
I hate how healthy food is more expensive than junk food, it is very wrong! However can’t put a price on having a healthy body!
Thank you Dr Pogozelski!! Same battle happening for 7 year old nephew, and it’s like pulling teeth to wake them up to something that seems so obvious.
You are amazing madam..speech was very easy to understand and valuable information thank you.
America the melting pot of foods, cultures, so forth; old world goods to new worls foods. “Natural flavors” is not always a good thing. Bioengineered foods, GMO foods, artificial,…it is shocking ehat Google says & possibly mote shocking what truly are these things people are given in the name given for foods. Are these things even to be comdumed in what we would see as their natiral staye before the transformation. Grafting, cloning…science gone off track. Reverse to where, what foods are still really back in the days of the Bible condumably good for the body. Many of those foods now are said to cause dis-ease. Thank you!!!!!
With 12 bucks, you could have bought 2 romaine lettuce, a bag of onions, some tomatoes, some salad dressing and a dozen eggs and made your own salad for a few days.
The baconator is like heavenly goodness! lol it’s so unhealthy I Agree, I tend to eat it sparingly. I couldn’t imagine consuming fast food on a daily basis
You should share the healthier breakfast options. Thnx 4 everything!
If people know a little about Weston Price’s studies, they’ll never eat junk foods again. Many people saying that went raw vegan and got better. You don’t need to go raw vegan, you need to eat your fruits and veggies and traditional whole foods. I already had a good diet for normal people standards and go vegan made no difference for the better. Instead, it made my depression more severe, since the most essential brain nutrients are found in animal fats. I cured eating fatty fish and liver, having a good diet still and making strenght training.
Why would I order anything at Wendy’s!!?? They sell krap processed food!!? Why would you choose to respond to a comment by telling them to “kiss my fat ass, hater”!? Rise above it and ignore insulting remarks!!
We need to stay far away from sugar and caffeine it’s definitely not good for us that is why I’m going to start eating organic food because it’s healthy for the brain and mind because if you don’t have your mind you don’t have nothing
Sorry Brad I should have mentioned my user name is Rudy830. Thanks for the responds
Everything we ingest, either food or visions or sounds sit deep within our subconscious. Be aware of everything your brain and mind process. Make proactive choices and choose happiness daily
!! Hello everyone. I want to raise awareness about mental health issues. I’ve made a video about it for a contest, in which if I win I get to participate of the Youth Leadership Forum in New York. Could you please help me by liking it and sharing so that others can view it too? I need the most likes to become a finalist. I think my video could help people out there so please give it a try.❤️ Thank you
Please get this lady again. Looking forward to hear from her again. Thank you tedex
It’s not just mental health. Everything we eat has a profound effect on our overall health.
So she’s been a “biochemistry professor and had been teaching about biochemistry a long time” but didn’t see anything wrong with her diet beforehand until she got diabetes? How can she be a professor and the title of this video be “How Knowledge is Power in Nutrition” if she didn’t even know her diet was leading her to diabetes until she actually got the disease? If she truly had the knowledge previously, she wouldn’t have made this video because she would have prevented herself from getting diabetes in the first place. At 8:36 she says: “In type 2 diabetes, insulin is present, but the downstream reactions are affected in some way”. So basically she has no idea what causes insulin resistance. She’s a professor and the video is titled “How Knowledge is Power…” and yet no new information is givenjust a general video on how low carb normalized her blood glucose (she didn’t say if she was cured of diabetes or not). I wish people would stop putting out more of the same simplified information we already know. Some high carb vegan gurus would argue that dietary fat is what “gums” up the receptor at the cell site which leads to insulin not working properly. I want to know if THAT theory has any validity. We need real answers, not more people making videos who don’t really have extensive knowledge on the topic.
What do you think of their value Cesar salad?? I try not to eat fast food but once in a while I have just that salad. Also, thank you for sharing. I use to have the baconator every Friday as a cheat meal and would feel like crap for days after. Long story short I stopped If I crave a burger, I will be sure to make my own healthier version. Any tips???
Doesn’t antidepressants unmask mania? Meaning that they are given antidepressants because they are expressing depression but when they take the antidepressant the depression disappears and the mania/hypomania presents. They were always bipolar?
Thank you for speaking on this topic! Though I definitely want to say that there are important times and places for medication, counseling, and traditional treatments for mental illness, having been magnesium deficient, but misdiagnosed in my teens as bipolar, and then later developing more mental health symptoms as I began to need supplementation for other vitamins like b12 and D due to increasing malabsorption, that also greatly resolved with appropriate treatment, I really appreciate this take. There is not a separation between the mind and the body.
Me: Can we have fast food
Mom: We have fast food
Fast food at home:
I listed the calorie info of the Apple Chicken Pecan on my website: check it out: bradgouthrofitness[dot]com/food-wars-wendys-nutrition-facts-information/
Seems like there should be disclosure ot the exact MICRONUTRIENTS THAT WERE USED AND DOSING.
ALSO if we are talking about deficient individuals, then adding one nutrient that is deficient in many cases will have no effect or could even worsen the outcome as the body may have went into a starvation mode/hibernating and adding the 1/10 deficiencies will turn the machinery back on, when there is no energy to run the machine causing serious harm.
Probably do not want to take folate unless sure you do not have a B12 deficiency.
The adventist message has this information since the last century! But nobody listen. So, nothing new. And they got it guess from where? From God through His word: the bible.
Just reading the book “Fast Food Genocide” by Fuhrman, M.D. This doctor goes into great detail about what you are talking about. You can guess by the title that there are corporations that know but don’t care.
my advice to any ADHD patient here, and i am one of them, these three things helped me alot do it every morning and you will notice the difference,(30 minutes cardio, 20 minutes medidation, micronutrients ).

So grateful it exists in 2020.”
This is the absolute dumbest video ive ever seen. The truth is that the dishes he is eating throughout this video do contain better ingredients, making them healthier. The problem, and the reason why he didnt lose any weight is because, while he’s eating healthy food, calroies do still matter. In this video, he seems to be trying to disclaim the value of eating healthier options, as choosing them instead of their junk food counterparts will provide no net benefit when trying to lose weight. Calories are still a massive factor.
Processed and unprocessed carbs are two entirely different worlds. Disingenuous to say “all carbs” when it’s actually only processed carbs that have this kind of reaction.
I really recommend to include probiotics in a healthy diet. That has INCREDIBLY helped me manage depression and anxiety disorders
What jails are full of is sugar. It the gateway drug. Addiction’s teacher. ADHD maker. The edge of violence. Our clear thoughts are are fogged by addiction’s focus.
From one psychologist to onother, thank you so much for exposing this. A lot of people now a days rely on medications and vitamins disregarding the benefits of healthier nutrition. The “healthy body healthy mind” have been forgotten. Let’s go back during the time of Adam and Eve where the only food are vegetables and fruits, that’s how are bodies are designed for.
If you eat to few calories of course you will feel bad. Just order more “healthy” foods then to match the supposed calorie intake
Surprise? Seriously?
Thanks for showing me I’m a lot smarter than I always thought.
You lost a lot of weight because it wasn’t good food eating real healthy good food actually will grow muscle and you won’t lose 6.5 lbs in a week more like 6 pounds in 1-2 months with working out
The salt thing is not based on truth anyway. So basically only FACT this video gave out was a flat out lie.
i loved watching this because your body shows threw:-)i love a guy who looks good in jeans
I am skeptical of the x-axis on her graph at 13:35. If I were doing a Ted Talk I’d want someone to review my Powerpoint for mistakes like that.
I also want to know why she’s waiting 12 hours between main meals, as suggested by the higher-carb diet blood glucose graph, and not eating anything substantial for lunch. If anything is risky with that kind of diet it would be leaving long periods of time between meals like that.
Plus, all the talk “knowledge is power” and “science is best” and then finishing off with one set of results for one person? Sample size, people! This is pre-GCSE level basics, more data makes the experiment more reliable!
No, I don’t trust this lady. She might be a highly skilled teacher of cell metabolism, and well done for making theoretical teaching practical to students through real-life context… But this doesn’t make her an expert in diet, and it certainly doesn’t make her a doctor.
I’m going to leave my few pinches of salt here…
Mental illness = physical illness. So why is this theory controversial?
Nutrition is a major factor in mental health but what is most neglected is social impact
Ancient wisdom proven right again: eating is the prime factor in disease, and restricted diet is the best treatment (Ali b. Abi-Taleb)
Thank you! Good ideas are NUTRITION also! ✨✨ “We Are What We Absorb.”
It takes roughly 3500 calories to burn a pound of fat. There is no way you lost almost a pound a day (unless your muscles literally ate themselves) by going from a 2500 calorie diet to a 1000-1500 calorie diet. You were clearly eating much more than 2500 daily, probably around 3.5k. This is just misinformation at this point, and get people who know more than 10 seconds of Google to advise you people on nutrition, because You’re misinforming people who look to this video for information and can pose a detriment to their health
If you eat like this though, drink tea, hot water, and an average of 120oz water per day.
I have Lada I was just recently diagnosed, I am also a athlete having difficulty with what kind of diet I should use.
It seems as a simple and effective solution getting optimal micronutrients but even better that it can be done with better food and life style choices and it might be helpfull to have the possibility of buying takeaway following these guidelines
thats why liver gives brain glucose from stored glycogen…..fruit fructose bypasses insulin like in RAW honey glucose/fruvtose
Glut transporters!!
I am surprised that Dr. Pogozelski didn’t mention Dr. Richard K. Bernstein who has been working to promote the low carb diet for type I and II diabetic patients for decades.
Parents take your children off meds and cook with them. FOOD MATTERS
I’ve sent this video via email to 18 of my friends that could use some #LLTV.
I don’t eat 3 days a week and on the days I eat I eat once a day
In my parents’ cultures, a pregnant woman is to AVOID processed food, junk food & alcohol (a drug). The man & woman are to AVOID alcohol even leading up to conception. I wish I knew how to find the studies she referenced.
What an amazing talk and well worth the time to listen. How long will people wait to accept that it’s worth the effort to improve nutrition for mental health? Popping pills is easier, but we never feel better anyway because we have to take more pills to deal with the side effects of the treatment. To put forth the effort towards better nutrition is challenging because those who don’t care to don’t want to support those who want to try.
I appreciate the research and idea here, but actually implementing this knowledge is the hurdle many can’t manage! Especially with ADHD, many of us can’t organize and control ourselves enough to do all of the necessary things to eat healthy. Planning and organization executive function is our main trouble. So knowing what meals to make, and in turn what ingredients to buy, actually going and buying it, remembering to eat on time, carving out a time to prepare the food properly these are all very difficult things for us to do regularly. So I’m sure it might help my mental health if I could have a private chef prepare amazing healthy meals for me consistently for years but if left to my own devices, chances are I won’t be able to do it well enough for it to make a difference.
Unfortunately in my country medication is the only thing that will make a person better. If I talk about nutrition being very, very important people always debate me harshly, and look at me if I am mad. I have been dealing with depression as a child but I think that was because my home situation, we always had a healthy diet as children, at least that is how I see it. After long period of stress, in these times I didn’t eat well, I was ‘diagnosed’ with ADHD, that is what you have as you cannot function due to major stress, and the doctors tried to put me on medicine. I refused. I noticed that if I work out, go to bed on time, and eat healthy I feel great. Hopefully this diet, micro nutrient science will be taken more seriously because we start to create a mad world with children being diagnosed with all kinds of mental illnesses, it is sad.
I work with children, and their lunch consists of factory bread, cheap margarine, cheap cheese with tons of additives in it as wel as cheap meat products. The tea has chemical flavourings in it. I always feel sorry for them but I am not the one to tell management otherwise. Costs will be too high they say if the children will eat quality foods.
Love the new background, it’s much more casual. Lookin’ great & great info too Carlo.
All mental health problems are caused by severe calcium deficiency. This begins in the womb or in infancy. The human body can assimilate calcium only from fresh, natural, uncooked foods especially leafy greens and grasses, wheatgrass. Artificial supplements do not work. The best way to get the calcium from greens is through green smoothies.
Brain chemical imbalances have never been proved.
One of the reasons why mental health problems generally develop or manifest in late adolescence is because of the body’s need for tremendous amounts of calcium due to the sudden spurt in physical growth.
Calcium is needed for proper neurotransmitter function.
It is also important to minimise chronic cellular inflammation by avoiding white sugar, refined carbs and oils and fats that increase cellular inflammation.
Cellular inflammation prevents the absorption of nutrients vitamins and minerals.
Shouldn’t we ask ourselves why these problems increased 20 or 40 fold just in few years? This is mindblowing to me
i use an antioxidant formula supplement as well that contains goji berries. Last i checked, goji berries had the highest ORAC for antioxidant levels (but that stat seems to change everyday!)
Actually I think counting grams of fat is misleading. Carbs also have a big effect, and there are satisfied and unsatisfied fatty acids, so fat is not fat.
In my opinion counting calories would be more helpful. Of course, nevertheless, putting it into perspective regarding other food is always a good idea, because certainly people know that burgers are unhealthy, but HOW unhealthy they actually was very well illustrated. Thanks.
There are no “heathy” menu in fast food restaurants, period. And no proper nutrition knowledge in this vdo at all. Thank you, next!
An excellent talk and nutrition’s affect on mental health discussions have been around for a long time! It’s doctors who prescribe drugs because it’s easier for them ie saves time re consultations. Meanwhile good for parents to be educated around this, but they too are often under pressure time wise etc……so priorities are skewed in favor of the medical profession’s approach! We need to allow for more ‘time’ from all walks of life to allow adequate assessments and care to be provided for mental health issues. Time along with nutrition are the solution I believe.
I have ate more than 4 hot dogs in one sitting. In a hot dog eating competition:)
Make a video on how to get guns like that my legs and chest are the only body part that look muscular:(
I had been on antidepressants for 7 years and tried again and again to get off with no luck until I finally did a massive diet overhaul, got clear about how real nutrition works and started eating correctly. It’s been 8 years now since I took my last pill after getting my nutritional routine nailed down PLUS I’m no longer and obese, insomniac binge eater. FOOD MATTERS!!! This talk is so very important for everyone to hear!
I’ve been agreeing with this viewpoint for a very long time, it would seem like common sense and it is, but even still people are either into it or they’re not, it needs to be part of the mental health field
Great video! It’s always hard traveling and trying to eat healthy if you don’t pack and prepare! Now you know @BexLife love their fries! LOL
I freakin LOVE that salad…OMG…and i always get the grilled chicken…thank Brad
Great talk And I think it is important to teach things like this and generally about the reseRch on lifestyle and health in schools
NYC is my fav city in the world and i love how the chains have to post the calorie counts. Subway can get a little dangerous when you factor in all that bread and sauces…plus the sodium from the meat.
I work as a doctor and see first-hand the unhealthy habits of people in the psychiatric ward where I am doing my residency. I hope that in the future the government will invest into healthy nutritious foods for our patients with more focus on exercise / movement.
I know it was probably just a simple slip up but I couldn’t keep watching after she incorrectly called the x-axis the y-axis
Excellent, I really enjoyed this. I don’t eat fast food but I’m always a little curious about Subway during lunch time.
I live in NYC where chain restaurants have to post the calories in their servings since 2008. Let me tell you, it scared me out of Dunkin Donuts and I only drink the plain coffee at Starbucks.
As a type 2 for 35 years, I have been through all of this. The speaker is spot on. Thanks to my eye Dr. For and Dr Westman for saving me from a poor diabetic control.my A1C now below 7 for 3 years. Thank you for giving this TED talk. My doctors don’ t think it’s a good idea?
Ofc youre gonna lose weight if you have a one thousand calorie deficit, doesnt mean the food itself its healty. The food is still full of salt, sugar, butter etc..you either cook your meal or go to a restaurant that you know how the food is cooked but ofc restaurants use a shit ton of salt and butter, conclusion make your own food, not that hard
for some reason the post below bears my husbands name instead of mine. sandra bubb
Omg the last meal you mentioned at Wendys scared me… 1000 calories alone just for the shake… that really is so unhealthy for your organs and heart and anyone who eats that much a day is bound to increase their risk of diabetes and heart attacks.. thanks for the video, very informing!!
Thanks. Very good information. Nice to know there’s an option for the occasional meal at a fast food place when schedule/circumstance won’t allow for anything else.
Wow idk if it’s worth 8 hotdogs, but the baconater is one of the best burgers I’ve had in my life. I should probably stay away but that dosent take away the fact that it is oh so delicious lol.
thank God, that MC Donald is like doesn’t exist for me, but I am sure this video will open many people’s eyes and hopefully they think twice before they make that choice to eat from them again. Is pathetic how much more expensive is healthy food, is like being punish for making the right choice for yourself.
I don’t support chains like this that contribute to the obesity of our nation
what kind of sunglasses are those? i know it has nothing to do with the video just curious
Believe it or not, I was wondering recently if you ever ate junk food!
I love their salads (but I don’t eat the dressing).
Fewer carbs….less brain fog for me!
Much literature out there that the brain is made up of fat and needs fat to function. Glucose can come from protein if the body needs it.
Reference “Big Fat Surprise”, by Nina Teicholz…..one of many.
Hahahaa and after eating like shit for a week he says ‘I just want a cheeseburger *eats Mc Donald’s*… daaamn the American diet is so wrong
i haven’t had a Wendy’s salad but I hear they’re ok… just watch the dressing
I don’t eat at Wendy’s, I’ve never even been in a Taco Bell
As a mother of a son with Inattentive Adhd and depressive husband I can 100% attest to the fact that their behaviour and mood would deteriorate with bad diet, and mood could be altered just by having a good meal and some water.
the answer for type 1 diabetics though is still eating the required amount of energy in the form of slow releasing carbohyrdates. To eat what is required of the body to function in a healthy way. You are going to take insulin either way. Eating carbohydrate rich foods that are bound to fibre don’t cause excessive spikes in blood glucose and are much easier to manage. Eat whole vegetables, whole beans, and whole grains. We run into problems with all forms of processed carbohydrates because it strips away the fibre. Fibre is the key for controlling blood glucose release rate
Knowledge is power but isn’t it a bit unrealistic to expect people to know about the thousands of different types of chemical reactions that occur in the human body?
My sister is a manager at Wendy’s. Do is her boyfriend. (At a different one.) and they do use 100% real meat. This is not a scam, I promise. They do use real ingredients, but the fat in them causes this. Not the actual food.
Just so you understand. Healthy Fast food does not exist. I pity the mind state of anyone who believes they are eating healthy fast food. The concept is just ludicrous. How about if you want to be healthy then don’t eat fast food. Your hamburger in your fridge made with fresh meat you grounded up yourself with the works is much healthier than any of your “healthy fast foods.”
But she’s blending type-one and type two diabetes. I can agree with her views on on type one. But type 2 is not caused by sugar, but by lipoglucgenesis. It is fat that causes, that is inter-cellular fat clongs the opening that woyuld normally allow insulin in to power the cell with glucose. Meat and Dairy lobby is fighting this.
Adult males should get 20,000 calories a day what are you talking about!? Woman should get 18,000 and this is to maintain your current weight.
Yes, you can do this. It is close to or is the ketogenic diet. I don’t think it is ideal at all. Instead if you have trouble measuring your insulin I suggest eating the same thing every day at the same time and making it primarily based on starch like japonica rice.
anyone that eats fruit and chicken together should get their kneecaps broken(excluding werid fruits like tomatoes)
+Dark-sheep13 you are 100% spot on and by far the most accurate comment on here.. can’t believe this BS is still crippling today’s perception of what true evidence-based nutrition really is. This quack should be put behind bars!
Any smart person would not follow the main stream, industrial/pharmaceutical “nutricional” piramid. I love TED talks, but they are too short sometimes. These is a huge subject.
I was thinking or recalled that the daily amount of sodium is 2,300 Milligrams?
Is anyone else hearing a bunch of clicking and clacking or is it just my TV?
it looks pretty decent however i always like to balance a higher carb meal (think it has approx 35g + of carbs) with a protein source ( to balance the insulin hormone). if you can add a little protein powder to it i’m on board!
Fruits and vegetables are carbohydrates…should i stop eating those?
What is it with this bitch and her hotdogs. seems kinda sexual.
Absolutely loved this talk, she is so on point ❤️❤️❤️❤️ thank you thank you thank you for speaking up
It’s the refined grains that are very bad, not the organic, unrefined grains. For instance, bagels should be considered hazardous bio-weapons and waste
Uhh I see subway as a sandwich/ salad bar not fast food, the most unhealthy thing that I know of that subway has is the cookies and the chocolate milk.
I watched 300 hours of you tube vids where drs. MacDougall, Fuhrman, Ornish, and a dozen others use a HIGH CARB, plant based plan to REVERSE diabetes. I could not see where your ADVICE had any basis in science.
This was great right up til she started making recommendations based on a sample size of one with short term results. Low carb can cause depression for a starter at least based on my sample size of one! The other thing that happens is you wind up getting a greater percentage of calories from fat and protein which can unbalance the body by requiring more bile for digestion. This in turn can alter your gut bacteria and cause other problems. I’ve messed with my diet enough to know that going for short term results can really screw you. A1c is not your life nor even equated with health.
Why is this on “Tech” Insider? This felt like a Buzzfeed video. LOL
haha vegan whole foods diet including all the fruit, whole grains has proved to reverse diabeties, cancer look at the chanel nutritionfacts.org
He was mostly starving due to the fact that his body couldn’t tap into his fat reserves and only was able to consume his glucose that’s why he couldn’t reach ketosis to lose bodyfat
Losing more than 1pound a week means ur losing fat unless ur obese or have a high body fat percentage. But im no expert
Very interesting talk, particularly the connections between insulin, hemoglobin, oxygen delivery, and kidney function. My dad is a diabetic and liver-kidney transplant recipient, so these insights are helpful.
Corrina you are amazing.
The information you convey is very important and useful, especially the facts shown here about wendy’s and other places.
I know that you are bothered by comments here, but don’t pay attention.
think about that..
You should know that if you wasn’t such a beautiful and smart lady, you are not getting such feedback, and in this sense, you are very lucky.
Keep the good work. You are just awesome
Super informative.
Interesting approach.
Interesting new studies chosen.
New perspective inside the low-carb idea.
Everyone is different in how many carbs to eat per meal.I was diagnosed with LADA, and right away I went to diabetic classes and they were geared more on type 2 diabetics so I cut my carbs a lot and lost a lot of weight. I am now eating about 45 carbs per meal on a insulin pump and my weight is great so everyone is different…I recommend a heart healthy diet.
The tank top your wearing is badass and looks kick ass to wear to go hard at the gym. Thanks for the video, I’m going out with my friend and wanted to know what to get that’s healthy at Wendy’s. This is kind of my cheat meal but even then, I even like to have my cheat meals to be somewhat healthy
What light she provides in the darkness of a corrupt food and medical-advice providing supply chain. Why it is difficult to believe that people who cannot process carbohydrate should probably not eat carbohydrate is testament to the power of such a corrupt, self-centered, patient-hostile, pharm-biased health unprofessional industry. Some things are changing and this speaker is helping to lead the way. Highly recommended viewing.
That is AWESOME!!! I am definitely going to check this stuff out
Brad, could you please tell me your toughs about this belly Fat Burner Exercise Belt Body Sweat is like a wrap, I was thinking to wear this but I am not sure if works.. Thank you
TBH I actually hate Wendy’s. I get that there is a lot of fat and processed food there, but I just straight up don’t like the taste of the food at Wendy’s.
Dont worry about the background man! Your content and information is always good enough to stand on its own
I have cured 20 type-2 diabetics Abu am surprised you are not aware of how to do it.
If a type 2 diabetic changes to a whole food plant based diet he will no longer need diabetic medicine in 3 days to 2 weeks. That means high carb, no meat, no diary, and very little oil. Gone.
Just try it for 24 hours and your sugar reading the next morning will be lower than you have ever seen it.
All this technical B.S. And 100% wrong.
If you are a type 1 diabetic, you will reduce your need for insulin by 50% which is the difference between dying with diabetes and dying from diabetes.
Just 24 hours with no meat, no diabetes and no oil. Cured for type 2 diabetics.
See dr John mcdougall and Neal Bernard on diabetes.
She sounds like she knows what she is talking about but is 100% wrong.
Just try no meat, no dairy for 24 hours.
Honest to God some of these comments are absolutely MORONIC. Did anyone actually listen here or do you all want to jump on the bandwagon so you can argue about food??
Did anyone actually understand the message behind this talk, or is everyone brain dead?? PLEASE tell me someone got it!!
From my research, the best way to handle this is to eat whole food carbohydrates, especially those high in fiber, such as fruits and vegetables, and in excessive quantities. A diet of almost exclusively whole fruits and vegetables ideal. You would be surprised that the glucose release from these foods is slow, and the glucose spike is relatively minor.
As soon as I start the video he says “fast food is burritos” because I skipped 10 seconds
Is she promoting the Ketogenic Diet? I wonder where her other sources of nutrients are coming from.. like say higher in fat or protein to compensate the loss in carbohydrates.
I’m just saying, if she is promoting the ketogenic diet, doesn’t this promote Diabetic Ketoacidosis? (probably also explains the limit given by the ADA on the 130g of carbohydrates)
Oh yes…poutine! Smoked meat would probably contain more preservatives and seasonings than fresh meat.
I never thought of eating a hotdog (or four) as a healthier alternative. lol
That’s fine for you to do what works for you, but I just want to say, I’ve been type 1 diabetic for 24 years and I did the low carb thing in the past, but now I eat a fairly low fat and fairly low carb (basically, everything in the middle) whole foods vegan diet. I tend to avoid grains and white potatoes just because it saves me some insulin, but because I think they’re bad or because my sugar will rise uncontrollably (it won’t, if I give insulin, I’m fine). My a1c last check was 4.9 (I try to keep my sugars under 100), my good cholesterol was 67, my bad cholesterol was 42. So, yours is not the only way. It’s one thing to have good sugars, but I also want to be healthy apart from my sugars. When I ate very low carb and high fat, my insulin resistance was so high that if I ate so much as a small apple, my sugar would shoot up and I’d need, like, 4 units of insulin to cover it. It meant I could NEVER eat carbs anymore, not even fruit. But now that I don’t restrict carbs and an not eating so much fat, that same apple only takes 1 unit of insulin, and even if I failed to cover it, my sugar works only rise to about 140.
I really agree with the content but it was really really difficult to follow this talker because she kept tripping over her words “a.. an.. Um.. ah” and doing pauses and stuff… but I totally agree with diet and nutrients. Very important.
that was a wonderful talk. i really enjoyed the fact that lay people could understand what you had to say, and that you added your own experiences. i remember hearing that you had been diagnosed as a type 1, and i wondered why that would be. you weren’t a young person, and i knew you took good care of yourself, so why type 1? now i wonder if it wasn’t because there needed to be someone to investigate the conventional thinking on this subject, and help those of us who don’t have the knowledge and skills to advance treatment in this area. i appreciate all the skills you have in this area due to your hard work gaining the proper education, and putting forth the effort to be inquisitive about accepted knowledge, and the possibility that there may be a better way of doing things.
Brad can you plz read what I wrote on your instagram photo and let me know what you think. Thanks great video
Does he claim that the fatty foods do not contain as much salt as the healthier dishes?
I used to work at Wendy’s and all my coworkers used to think I was sooo weird for not eating their food on my break, like uhm cause its nasty XD
I’m not sure if this awareness video is suppose to stop people from eating Wendy’s, no matter what you say, if a food tastes good then we’re gonna eat it.
You can’t always be picky on what you eat.
Yes, I do think if you’re eating fast food practically everyday then people shouldn’t do that but you can’t control their decisions.
I am curious why you think the Asiago chicken sandwich is targeted toward people who are trying to be diet conscious. It’s breaded and deep fried. I don’t think that screams “health” to anyone.
It would be awesome if you did one with booze and calculated the amount of sugar in it like hard liquor or creamy drinks like rumchata
This was a very interesting talk and a good starting point! A couple of points though that would have increased the validity of her results. I would have liked a mention of the different types of Carbs. We know that not all carbs are the same. Low GI and High GI carbs are metabolized differently in the body and have different effects on blood glucose levels.
Also, while positive results for maintaining steady BG levels were shown, we only saw a measurement of one type of effect (BG levels). But many effects should have been monitored. What about fatigue, light headedness during exercise etc. These are symptoms experienced by those on low carb diets and are important to know before we can make an informed decision.
Even more importantly, what was eaten? Was it fish, legumes, vegetables? Were major changes made to other aspects of her diet as well? (ie giving up alchohol). How often did she eat during the day? How much exercise was done during the experiment (can a low carb diet sustain an active person)? What about fluids (juice or water??). These are all important variables that significantly change the results of this experiment.
All in all, more study are needed but in the meantime we can follow after the speakers good example in listening to advice but also trying different things to find out what works best for you.
I do get the point of this video/expriment. However once you take that this is a large adult male who was eating 890-1460kcal per day there isn’t much of anything you can take away from this.
It’s recommended that the typical male dieter still eat at least 1500kcal a day and meet a minimum protein requirement in order to maintain his overall health, muscle mass, and basic wellbeing.
His experience of feeling subjectively terrible throughout the week isn’t very powerful or telling about the quality of the food he was eating in itself since he ubruptly started eating thousands of calories less than he is used to and his average daily calories was a meager 1052kcal
Whole foods plant based oil free is the only diet proven to reduce coronary heart disease. We see the benefits of decent nutritional with our physical health and with the gut playing such a central role it’s no surprise just how essential good nutrition is. I have a connective joint tissue disorder which includes depression in its umbrella of symptoms. Whereas I see others really struggle with this condition and resorting to a slew of conventional medications I’m proud to say on a vegan diet I do really well and avoid all meds including the amitriptyline and strong antidepressants given to me for my condition. ( I took one when I twisted my ankle and felt like a zombie the next day). The sad part is the meds interact and then people end up on more meds to counteract the negative side effects of the first meds. My youngest son had hyperactive issues, a 2 second memory and was hard work as a youngster. At no point did I consider ritalin for him even though there were financial incentives to my benefits intake at the time. My sons mental and physical health was worth more to me than that and luckily I knew that these meds are based on amphetamines! It really is no surprise these poor children dont get better. As for my youngest son, hes doing great, has no more issues and is in university. I wonder how he would have turned out if hooked on ritalin now. As for fish oils you can go direct to the source of those nutrients in the form of spirulina to cut out the negative aspects of fish oil as all oils, bar a little cbd oil are detrimental to the blood flow including olive oil. I’m not perfect. I still use marg, eat white bread ect, but I can say that medicine free is a wonderful feeling and cutting out animal products helped heal my gut issues while cutting out dairy really helped my joints. All a welcome surprise as my change was an ethics based decision. The better health that occurred as a result is a welcome added extra.
Yeah you look like your only eating 2 and a half thousand calories and he has high blood pressure what a suprise
I Don’t think everybody agrees with you it’s your point view or paid to do it
I’m not sure why I see comments saying this is a bad video. It’s interesting because even though it was low calorie they used sodium (and prob other stuff) to compensate which probably just makes you hungrier. He also makes a good point that when you go into these places the smell and the atmosphere alone makes you want to order a burger instead of a salad. People are saying there is no point to this video. i think the point is pretty obvious, the so called healthy options are not actually healthy therefore don’t go to fast food places at all if you want healthy food even if they have a supposed healthy menu. Thank you for making this video!
This is an interesting video! I think you should use butter or olive oil to show the fat. Hot dogs I think of as unhealthy, but not because of the fat in them. Honestly, as you have shown in the video most junk food has way more fat than a hot dog.
Is it possible to do low carb and be vegetarian at the same time? Low carb always seems to be like “meat, meat, meat and more meat”
Usually eat 2500 a day?You must exercise a lot to stay at your weight,ie a little bit chubby. As for health well the S Koreans have the highest salt intake in the world and the lowest heart attack rate, there another 12 countries with salt intake vastly higher than the US who also have lower heart attack rates.Theres also vast amounts of research showing that intakes of up to 10x what the government advises can be regulated by the body easily but low intake leads to health issues in 6 days.
You’re describing my life. I eat fast food everyday but chicken meals and salads and I feel fine
There is no quality in the service at Wendy’s because you can’t understand the words coming out of the cashier’s mouth!
My doctor said it is not my fault, that there is nothing I can do or could have done.
I mean he has good intentions saying that but I believe I can make it with healthy eating.
And you can too if you believe in yourself!
Come to India we will serve you samosakachori, pav bhaji,dhokla,aaloo paratha,dosa,idli,fish fry,butter chicken,egg curry,bhurji, paneer butter masala,gobi paratha,chole Puri,butter naan,panipuri,bhelpuri,chat,lassi,limbu soda etc….
Pardon me if I missed something
Jai Hind
Sorry if the audio sounds a little off. Tried eliminating some background noises and it messed up my voice lol.
the baconator is good but not worth all the fat and caleries and sodium it has, plus it not worth the feeling your stomach will have after you consume it.
Great vid Sir! My body is a temple, and those burgers ain’t gettin through the gates!!
Cancer patients? Guess what, the same thing works to prevent cancer and and reduce tumor size a low carb, non-glucose-inducing, non-insulinogenic diet. Most cancers will start shrinking. This works a whole lot better than chemo drugs. Yeah, the medical establishment doesn’t want you knowing that cancer, like diabetes, can be controlled with diet.
Also, Wendy’s is NOT like Mcdonalds. Mcd uses fake meat. Trust me that food is bad. Wendy’s is nothing like that tbh
Dude was like 1200-1400 calories under his recommended daily intake… so at most he lost like 9800 calories in 7 days or about 2.8lbs(assuming 3.5kCal/lb fat)… I smell some bs about dropping 6lbs
Wow lovely talk.I invite the wonderful lady to come to India &study our ancient system of medicine Ayurveda. Here food is prescribed according to body types. We have centuries old recepies for certain health paremeters
First of all the guy was fat to start. Secondly….. There is no such thing as “healthy” fast food. Just smarter options if you have to eat it. Obviously it’s still processed and loaded with sodium. He did lose weight. He probably felt like crap because he was losing weight and felt an energy zap. Also some days his calorie deficiency was extreme. Any calorie restriction takes longer than a week to acclimate to. So I’m really not sure what the point of this video was lol. No one is running around saying fast food is healthy. Just that a 6 inch turkey sub from a sub shop is infinitely healthier than a burger and fries. If you want to truly eat healthy, cook your own food, make your own salads with chicken…. fresh boiled chicken, and stop buying processed foods. Most of your groceries should come from the whole foods sections. Meats. Nuts. Fruits. Veggies. And not the planters salted cocktail bins lol. But raw, unsalted nuts they keep by the bananas. Avoid those aisles full of chips, dips, sweets, and candy. I’ve basically narrowed my diet down to chicken, turkey, raw walnuts, cottage cheese, pineapple, peanuts, broccoli, beef jerky, peanut butter, carrots, popcorn, bananas, salads, and bread. I meal prep for work. If I have to grab food on the go I go to a sandwich shop, or may get a grilled chicken sandwich. Nothing from a can, or a bag is healthy. This should not be news to anyone in 2020 lol. Even the supposed healthy options are looooaaaded with sodium. Anything processed is loaded with sodium.. That’s part of the preservation process. Don’t buy taco Bell fresca chicken tacos made with pre cooked chicken in a bag lol. Make your own. This shouldn’t be rocket science with the amount of information in our pockets at all times. Fresh foods good. Processed foods bad.
Lmao.. the life of a type 1 diabetic.. allways smelling the most wonderfull foods yet just having to ignore the urge to eat it..
Right now im doing the “I only eat ramen and mcdonalds forever challenge”
People are misdiagnosed all the time I order to just give them a pill to “fix” their problems.
My mom has been diagnosed with bipolar and prescribed medication for years but she is actually a person with Borderline Personality Disorder. Bipolar is increasingly and incredibly a misdiagnosis for a multitude of mental issues.
I just think her data should have accounted for the MANY people whom are misdiagnosed.
Just eat 1 meal a day. With 2 eggs in afternoon and some vegetables
Great speach. Since many years i am talking micronutrients to manage my chronic illnesses. Unfortunately medocal doctors don’t advise their patients to go for them.
Hilarious. Too bad this info has’nt reached Canada yet. I went slightly more insane when I went ahead and did the research into my disorder…..okay guys, I can’t afford to eat properly, my research is saying I need protien in order to synthesize the hormones, etc. required to rebuild balance in my brain.
My doctor says SSRI should do it.
Need I say more?
I am a tradesperson. Not a doctor. A person of higher education would have to be delusional to not see that proper nutrition is absolutely crucial to treating mental disorder.
Its sickening.
A baconader hamburger is the best you will in my opinion ever eat. Simply delicious. Take my word for it. But I won’t continue eatting them after seeing this.
Why does it sound like someone’s playing table tennis in background
I’m curious about her overall health, though. Ok, her blood glucose is low, but what about her metabolic processes? Is she able to use enough glucose to ‘make energy’ and remain healthy?
What your body needs is 2000 calories. By looking at I can see you eat +3000 calories daily. That’s why you feel hunger. And eating less than 2000 calories is what you do to lose weight which is actually healthy. Amd haves lots of benefits. Plus all that ” fast healthy food”. Is not healthy at all. If you want something healthy buy the vegetables, meat, at the store and cook it yourself. Seems something that Americans can’t do. Cook
In the event that you\’re trying to get FREE McDonald’s meals you must check: freeBurger. me. they are super Devoted.
What the hell is wrong with Americans? How can they be so deficient in basic knowledge of nutrition?
So basically America is saying:
Yipeetee Fatteettyy Fat
Eveything you ate
Makes you overweight

Its interesting but, she only talk about the low glucose in blud on her low carb diet and completely forgot to check if the brain is afectet by this low carb diet, no study or numbers on this side? In the book Thinking fast and slow by Daniel Kahneman, I remember a study showing that the brain is less lasy to do high effort thinking when people have eaten carbs. Here I find it:
The nervous system consumes more glucose than most other parts of the body, and effortful mental activity appears to be especially expensive in the currency of glucose. When you are actively involved in difficult cognitive reasoning or engaged in a task that requires self-control, your blood glucose level drops. The effect is analogous to a runner who draws down glucose stored in her muscles during a sprint. The bold implication of this idea is that the effects of ego depletion could be undone by ingesting glucose, and Baumeister and his colleagues have confirmed this hypothesis in several experiments. Volunteers in one of their studies watched a short silent film of a woman being interviewed and were asked to interpret her body language. While they were performing the task, a series of words crossed the screen in slow succession. The participants were specifically instructed to ignore the words, and if they found their attention drawn away they had to refocus the concentration on the woman’s behavior. This act of self-control was known to cause ego depletion. All the volunteers drank some lemonade before participating in a second task. The lemonade was sweetened with glucose for half of them and with Splenda for the others. Then all participants were given a task in which they needed to overcome an intuitive response to get the correct answer. Intuitive errors are normally much more frequent among ego-depleted people, and the drinkers of Splenda showed the expected depletion effect. On the other hand, the glucose drinkers were not depleted. Restoring the level of available sugar in the brain had prevented the deterioration of performance. It will take some time and much further research to establish whether the tasks that cause glucose-depletion also cause the momentary arousal that is reflected in increases of pupil size and heart rate.”
Mister brad what about in an out what’s more healthy and what’s the worst and well it is obvious what’s worst but what’s your take on it awesome vids.
Hi brad I know many people that think some how that in n out fast food burger place is a healthier alternative from mc Donald’s is it true? If you have a ” IN N OUT” restaurant are your city is it true?
Not only is western medicine not embracing this information, it is digging in its heels & delivering scathing putdowns to patients who want this approach & who suffer life-altering bad effects from som medications. It’s up to all of us now to speak up & keep speaking up. Yes, save the good medications for the acute conditions. But they were never meant to be a steady diet.

Talking about carbs in such a general way is unlikely to enhance knowledge about nutrition. No gold star from me for that
We definitely need to learn more… And make insurance companies pay for more preventable measurements
“Fast food is cheap…”
Fast food’s chains in Brazil lefts chat.
were you expecting miracles in just one week without doing any research? pointless video
In Belgium, premade food and fastfood had to cut down their salt in their foods.
The biochemistry textbooks don’t link biochemistry with nutrition? And when is that going to change? Is there any push towards making that change now that functional medicine is clearly the wave of the future. Or are they just going to make those poor medical students study, and memorize, in a meaningless vacuum into the 22nd century? We’ll see.
That chicken one sounds pretty tasty though! I’ll keep it in mind for our next road trip.
Brad, you just had to mention poutine, eh? I don’t know how good Wendy’s poutines are, but the ones here in Montreal are amazing! I’ve been very good at staying away though. Thankfully, the last one I had was a few months back and I shared it with my husband: Smoked meat poutine! VERY dangerous! Do you have any clue what the nutritional value for lean or extra-lean smoked meat is?
Salt is good for you. Check out “What I’ve Learned” and learn of the importance of salt. Also, it’s impossible to lose 7 pounds in one week. Get educated pal.
Heart issues the same. Stay away from processed foods. Eat salmon” my surgeon said! They or rather many hopefully are getting there these doctors of ours! FINALLY!
Uhm… The regular options would include the calories and cholesterols including the salts…
