wow shane thanks for this debunking all my misconceptions on s and c now i know how to start
Lioue simons from westside barbell and ramsey dewey do not agree
Thank you just started going to the gym more often and needed this!
Hi I have started strength training with FB recently. Usually I do cardio with weights added. I have not gained weight working out that way. My waistline has remained 36 inches.I have noticed a 3-lb weight gain within the past month I have been working out with FB! Help, when will the weight loss come?? Thanks, I love your workouts.
Seriously they both look amazing and I know half of it’s genetics but the girl with the black yoga pants…I want my butt to look like that!
Thank you! Weights has always been something I’ve wondered about. I never know if I’m using too heavy or not heavy enough. Thanks so much! ❤️❤️
I’m trying to stick with doing 3-4 (full body) strength training days but my days seem to be consistently in a row. Is this okay, or should you have rest days in between for muscle repair? Thanks and great videos btw! They have helped me out a lot.:)
I only do compound moevements, you dont want to train your muscles to act by themselves but together
Boring as hell, and didn’t help at all, no one cares about WHY they want to know how to FIX it, what to DO.
What’s this guys degree/background. “not a lot of research in these areas” There is an abundance of research in these areas.
“Caring too much glycogen.”
Glycogen is indispensable to athletes, we have a very limited capacity to store it. For example, carbohydrates account for only about 1-2% of total bodily energy stores. Most of this is stored as glycogen in muscle (80%) and liver (14%), and about 6% is stored in the blood as glucose. Despite its limited storage capacity, glycogen is crucial for energy production at all levels of effort. At rest, muscle glycogen is used for about 15-20% of energy production. At moderate intensities (55-60% of max) glycogen usage could rise to as much as 80-85%2, and this increases even more at higher exercise intensities
The science is squarely behind what Firas Zahabi teaches.
Most athletes are driven to work harder than they should to achieve their goal. Therefore, they burn themselves out or injure themselves and never achieve their goals. Athletic coaches have to adjust on a daily basis the amount of work and recovery their athletes require to improve. The whole point of having a good coach is to have someone who stops you from overworking and sees to it that you get enough recovery.
If you want to improve your performance of any kind, you must control your rest as well as your work.
A good coach will help you find the right balance between your performance and your recovery, you must observe your accomplishments on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis and determine at which point your performance failed to improve. Those failures are the result of either too much work and not enough recovery or too little work and to much recovery.
hi!
i was just wondering, how often do you guys run/go jogging and for how many miles?
also, what type of intensity training is that? (high low medium?)
thanks! you guys are the best!
Guys can I strength train two days in a row the same muscle group? Say two days back to back of lower body strength training? Please let me know. Also you guys are my gurus. You are doing a fantastic job I love you both its so much fun watching you and you make the workouts better by talking us through it.
I suffer from lower back/hip problems and acupuncture is fantastic.
Basically yes lift weights but don’t lift to get big muscles.
Great for seniors. Actual stuff I can do. More like this please.
Dear FitnessBlender, do you have workout routine that is helpful during fasting, such as Ramadan? Thank You!
Thanks! If it were easy everyone would be fit! I like that:D
If you are looking to get rid of fat fast, you should look up on google Nifty Fat Blaster. You are bound to get the body you deserve.
thank you blender.
for answering my question.
you are……………(any good word of your choice).
I am so confused though… should you be combining strength training and cardio into one workout session? or do you mean into your workout routine and do it in one day do it at separate hours/time?? whats the best time schedule to get the best results because I have been experimenting with doing some strength training workouts for 30 mins and I am not seeing myself burning any calories and not breaking any sweat and its not intense enough as if I were to do a cardio session
idk what the heck I did but 10 days ago during my last warmup set of 3 I tweaked my back and have been dealing with a bulging disk ever since. great timing and good info.
I More Than Love You Guy’s! I believe HASFIT is the ground work of all
health and happiness!!
I guess Mohamed ali and these old fighters was taking steroid it was legal at that time
Great video!
Strength and conditioning for fighters simply put is building or increasing their athletic base in a way that won’t severely interfere with their sport specific training (skills training aka the punching, kicking, grappling part). The athletic base is composed of explosive power, conditioning, and body integrity (flexibility and joint integrity). They only brushed on a few superficial points here concerning actual useful information.
Look into Team Juggernaut Fitness, as they coach bjj guys and have a fantastic strength and conditioning team. Also Coach Phil Daru is a gem.
Side note on body types: there are (generally speaking) only practically two types of people. naturally athletic and explosive people and people who have to learn athleticism. You’ll find people who can move their bodies with ease and mirror your form perfectly and then you have people who trip over their own feet learning a footwork drill. Type Athletic is much easier to train and requires less stimuli to elicit tangible results and will almost always respond to any sort of training. While type uncoordinated will take much more effort to train and their programming will have to be very specific for optimal progress.
Soo… when to “stop” or keep S&C to a minimum in general, i.e. if we ignore the factor of having to be rested for a match? When it gets too taxing? When we get enough lean mass that we are in danger of leaving our division? When?
I can’t believe it! I started the strenght training and my body started to ask for more!! then on the cardio routines, I don’t get tired as fast as i used to…
I love you guys:D
When I am doing the lying knee raise and long arm crunch at the end there it really hurts to keep my neck up like that. Is that normal? Would it be better to do it with my neck lying down? Thank you for all these great free workouts by the way
This was a tough one, but i’m really seeing results from working out (even if i take a two day break due to stuff happening, I still got a workout from walking at least) I think in the almost three months i’ve been working out i’ve seen a huge weight difference in decreasing as well as some muscles forming that I never used to have that were just pure flab. Which is really nice.
According to mike Tyson in his book “my life with cus “ he would do 500 sit ups everyday plus would lift weights right from a young boy in the boys home and when he lived with cus. He said that teddy atlas said he would hurt himself with the weights he was lifting as they never knew how strong he was.
My fucking god.
He spends over 12 minutes covering his ass, but that is unnecessary!! Specially for this crowd… get to the fucking point man!!
I would say the majority (maybe vast majority) of fighters should lift, the only real situation I’d say a competitive fight athlete shouldn’t lift is if they are untrained as far as lifting goes (in other words have not previously lifted weights) AND are in a place weight wise where they would not be comfortable going into the next available weight class yet are having difficult cuts to get to the weight class they are going to compete in.
if you are not used to lifting and you start, even if you do not have hypertrophy as a goal you will gain some additional muscle mass and if you are already having trouble cutting weight why make one of the worst parts of fighting even worse.
Thanks guys! I have a question: i want a flat stomach. I plan to do cardio (zumba) 3 times a week and a strength routine twice a week. I hope to do ab exercises everyday.
Do you guys think this is a good routine for a flat stomach? (i eat healthy, i just need some advice on exercise). Thanks!
Hey FitnessBlender! This is a really random question but I’ve just started to include avocado in my diet. I eat one whole avocado for lunch, once a week. I know avocado is supposed to have “healthy fats” but my dad said it’s fattening, period! It’ll make me gain weight. Is that true? Thank you!
Just did this workout this morning, I actually look forward to getting up and doing my workout at home!! You guys are amazing!
There is footage of Tyson weight training back in 2003 in his camp to fight Clifford. Jus Saying…
Really helpful. Thanks Shane and Adam.
I am early in the MMA learning process (5 months) but training hard, 8-10 sessions a week. I’m naturally tall and slender, but carrying a bit of stubborn excess flab on my lower stomach and sides. I am also over 50. Training has resulted in a drawn look in my face. I am learning that I need a very specific and targeted weight training session or two in replace of higher cardio sessions. My club coach is helping me to work it out.
Of course they should. But todays trainers almost all confuse training with doing exercises. Training requires a goal, a time frame and a plan how to get there. Everybody should do the basics, and dont think it’ll slow you down. It does’nt.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE HASfit. Everyday I start with 15 minutes of Leslie Sansone to warm me up and then it’s on to my HASfit Tribe. I would LOVE to see a newer version 30 and 45 minute for Upper Body with dumbells. Keep up the Great work Coach K and Claudia!!!
Ppl gonna argue that theres no footage of mike lifting weights when he had more mass than any dude out there doing just calisthenics lol only on a flat earth did mike tyson not lift weights
In an MMA or even a street fight a guy who is muscly ( I don’t mean huge like a bodybuilder, I mean athletic and strong) has a big advantage.

If you are looking to lose pounds, you may want to take a look on Google for “Lexus Fat Blast”. You are certain to end up getting the appearance you deserve.
weights are necessary for grappling to get an advantage, if it is just standup, not so much
This hurt my feelings. Powerlifter to MMA fighting now i wanna lift huge weights and be fast enough to beat someones ass wtf
Cpt. Morris is a fucking dude. Not enough praise in and out of uniform
I’ve just watched your video about HIIT training and you recommend max 4 times a week. Is it ok to do one day strength and the next day HIIT? or should I do a day off between them or for example, one day S, one day HIIT, off, and then again…? Some suggestions?:-) (I am looking for losing some weight and I am just trying to be more active) Thanks in advance!
So im 5 10 and 165 pounds and im skinny, I did sports but I stopped for a year and ate sweets my whole life. My cafs are really big but not flexible. I’m stronger than I look but not really I cannot run anymore, anyone got any tips to help me with a workout plan? I really need it I will apricate it.
love those shiny leggings! was wondering if you can do a booty workout with those 😉 😉
I’m curious about how much S&C one ought to do per week. I’m a 45-year-old male who has been mainly focusing on calisthenics and boxing training to lose weight and stay in shape.
However, lately, I’ve become aware of the lack of strength and power in my upper body.
Up until now, I’ve typically spent 1 session per week on weights and resistance tube exercises.
I’ve also recently signed up at my local gym, and despite 3 months of solid training, I can’t do a single pull-up! This is incredibly disheartening and demoralising as I would have thought these muscles would have developed at least a little after 3 months.
I’ve taken some notes, especially the video featuring Phil Darude on strength exercises but again, no one seems to have any clear advice on a ratio of boxing: S&C.
I think it’s largely intuitive, meaning your body usually lets you know where your lacking or where your weak points are, still, some advice would be helpful.
So you are saying lifting heavy weights can not improve your fight skills? At all???
Needs editing…..badly
At least 3/4 of this lecture is surplus.
What are some cardio combined with weight training exercises
This guy Shane was at my gym just hitting the cardio like mad. One of my bros recognize him and challenged him to a real man’s workout. Shane couldn’t refuse. He got smashed. His legs were like jelly after the workout. I was like, throw one of you Karate kicks now bro. He just limped off. We all had a good laugh and then knocked back a protein shake.
Man, I love smart people. Thank you, Shane and Adam for taking the time to do this video, this was very informative!
It does help but you use more oxygen. I did 50% of my power with perfect technique hitting a body pad and still made a guy spit saliva from a bod shot.
Strength Coach who has never lifted a weight!
PS. Body types have been proven to be BS….. like 50 years ago!
What would be a good workout split for someone who trains MMA for fitness (non-competitively)?
I often get confused when I should lift weights for strength and when I should train for conditioning.
Hey Shane, I feel like the strength and conditioning in this video focused on what happens around fight time. How much and what type of strength training would you recommend to someone who is just training every week to become a better fighter overall but not preparing for just one fight? Thank you
what science is actually required to understand going into striking training so sore it impacts your ability to perform, would be bad? I already know that I don’t want to get hit more then the absolute minimum number of times, no lab coat required.
i like your videos but i always struggle to hear. i have my volume up on both youtube and my computer
Very helpful. I’ve been wanting to know about this for awhile
Checkout Don Heatrick his channel is all about how you should do your s&c training this dude has tons of knowledge.
Teaser: you actually should do heavy bench press, squats and deadlifts at some point
calestetics and even weighted calestetics are great for boxers…big muscles require alot of oxygen…look at deonte wilder…long and lean…gypsy king long and lean with body fat…Andy Ruiz…burrito body…none are hugely muscular…
Balance is very important and the more balanced got you have the more in tune with your equilibrium that you are and the more muscle memory you have that gives you the balance that’s needed in various positions as searching objects that you can throw on the ground chaotically the end up stable at the model I used the most is a tetrahedron which is a four-sided triangle and if your body is positioned in some way within two of those anchoring points then most of the time you’re going to be stable. 3 Limbs and one up creates a tetrahedron
Doctors are idiotic when it comes to them talking about any physical activity. Virtualy none of them are doing any anyway.
We should use Bruce Lee as a great example. Perfect combination of strength, power, and flexibility. Check out The Art of Expressing the Human Body book.
I’ve been doing strength training 7 days a weekso that’s way too much? I measure my food and count calories and stay under my daily calories with the deficit. The scale is going down VERY slow and has been for several months. I always exercise 1 1/2 a day, every day. Am I over doing it and this is why I’m not seeing fast results? My measurements have gone down drastically. I only need to lose 9 more pounds.
WOW, I graduated to this workout from the 34 mns beginner’s workout, I am soooo proud, thanks a lot you two!
With Mike Tyson’s body, people honestly think he never lifted weights before? Insane.
hey can you guys do a video on how to get out of a plateau! thank you! p.s you guys are so helpful:)
Another great informational video Shane. Appreciate all your tips. Keep it coming
Hi, random question, I was wondering if my bf% at 10% (I am a woman) is too low. I am the heaviest I ever been, I eat around 2000 kcal a day and 30% of it being fat. Or shall I just include more cardio in my routine? I am not very fond of it, when I do cardio is just HIIT once a week, other 4 days is strenght training routine. Thanks for your reply!
Maddie your so cute, I love your personality. Do u have your own channel?
Im a big believer in what i call stress training. This isn’t used we first begin and are trying to understand basic movements. When sufficient experience is aquired to somewhat understand movements being trained. We begin including a warm-up that significantly increases heart rate this increases to 1 hr of general athleticism. Trying to out perform yesterday type intensity. This primes us to learn movements as an instictive flinch. The movements and drills are being practiced under stress conditions. This dramaticlly changes the rate of performance understress is aquired. Strength is very important in all combatives, especially in the hips. Deep squats and explosive hip movements build this. To build power inspiration can be drawn from power lifters. Wieghts are a very stable way to train these extremes decreasing rates of injury.
I love this for beginners; I also love Chyna’s leggings and want them. xD
Thank you for this video! how many days would you recommend cardio and would you always recommend HIIT-type cardio? Thank you for all you do!
Great way of breaking down the question… Great work shane
Hi, I need to lose about 10-15lbs to reach my ideal weight and I thought if I do strength training my scale values will increase. So, wanted to reach my ideal weight and the start strength training. Is it wrong??
hey guys u both r really genuine and convincing.. I follow your exercise plans. they r just great.. I wanted to know that after how long one needs to change the exercise routines
Fk all that B.S Spar dumbell train bagwork sprint jog. Train outdoors. Muai Thai it. Should be sparring and bag work most of the tume.
Thank you for posting this video. It’s mean to me a lot!!!!!!!!!
im a college student and medical care provider so my time & location of exercise is limited:( but I’ve been able to start getting my body back into shape thanks to fitnessblender! Yayy:) thank you so much and please don’t stop!!
oh, you dropped another brilliant one! will try this tomorrow. I love the fact that you focus on all fitness levels. most of the other channels only upload workouts for already very fit people. your videos give everyone the chance to ease into these strength training workouts. awesome work as always, can’t wait to try it. thank you!
60 percent gymnastics + 40 percent strongman training would help your MMA training
After the Christmas break I’m struggling to go back two more advanced drills, so I keep coming back to this one to relearn or retrain the body. Most of the exercises seem to be easy but to perform them properly you have to push yourself and I’m happy I’m succeeding, a little bit slowly though, but as you rightly say quite often you have to keep coming back there’s no other way. Many thanks for all your efforts.
Damn shane has been making a great video lately like he asked question what he fan wants know know thank u
I know batman is fictional so that mean him lifting and being that strong but can fight like that is unrealistic
Dope video and really good content. I like the ESPN style topic breakdown. Subscribed
Very eye opening, it’s not just the weight of muscles that exhausts someone, but the fact that they need oxygen while idle. Power gets you nowhere unless you can do something with it.
No way. I eat at least half an avocado almost every single day (so good with a big bowl of beans and an egg). They are delicious, and so healthy for you. They are dense in calories but also very dense in nutrients, as well as filling. It’s just like anything else dietary speaking, you will want to pay attention to your overall caloric consumption.
Look at professional athletes at the Olympics and tell me, do you think these women are bulky? Look at Jessica Ennis, the current Olympic heptathlon champion (a veeery strong woman indeed). Check out her pics and tell me if she’s bulky. I don’t think she is myself; and probably she trains at extreme levels of intensity for 6 hrs a day everyday.. Do you think you can top that?
Most combat sports strenght and condition coaches are not very good, but this guy seems to be. Excellent points!
You guys are awesome!! This video was so informative and delivered in such a fun way! Thank you and keep them coming!
How much protein should I be taking in if I want to lose weight rather than building bulk? Also what are the best times of day to take in protein?
Amazing workout! Love this one! Thanks a lot HasFit!! Do this one whenever i am extra motivated to do a long one!
Super workout! Just the right pace. Hey out there if two seniors can do it so can you! It’s amazing how mental can beat the physical.
you are calling this a beginners work out? I think it is pritty tuff 😉
Love this workout. Definitely in my top 10 HASfit workouts. Thank you for all you do and especially for making it so much fun. I feel like you are in the room with me.
how much time after breakfast do u workout? Exactly? or a meal?
I have back pain every day for 2 years solid. I also have a hip labral tear. It’s horrible. I had to stop lifting and exercising because it just hurts so badly a few hours later. Literally feel like I need to have a truck run over my back. The only solution for pain for me is laying on a hard foam roller for 20 mins. How is it that on a physiological level that seems to help me? I don’t understand.
Plz would u share some body weight workouts that can be done at home. It will be much appreciated thanks
First of all i LOVE you guys to absolute pieces. You are seriously a gift from God.
I have a question and no matter who I ask or what I google I can’t really find an answer. Im 25 years old, 5’6 and 120 pounds. For a few years I struggled with an eating disorder and really destroyed my body, i lost all my muscle and strength. Now, at a healthy weight, it’s VERY hard for me to work out again. I do beginners workouts and I am so exhausted that I almost throw up half way through the video. I wake up so sore I have to take Vicodin to even get off the couch. I can hardly even walk on a treadmill for 15 minutes and I feel there’s no point in trying if I can’t do what doctors even consider enough to be a workout. I’ve been to the doctor multiple times and theres nothing wrong with me (anemia, etc). Have I ruined my body for forever or is there someway that I’ll be able to get my strength back without killing myself while working out? Most people are telling me 10 minutes of HIIT or strength or whatever isn’t a workout, but I feel if I’m panting and sweating and wake up sore I MUST be getting a workout right? ah i’m so confused and discouraged.
So… I do a little bit of bench pressing and some bicep and tricep dumbbell exercises. I still spend more time practicing my technique and skills in the boxing gym. Those bench presses and dumbbell exercises are good for me, right?
Thanks to these workouts and a primarily plant base diet I have shedded 168lbs thus far and counting!
I don’t get it. Without weight lifting how my supposed to gain the strength necessary to handle intense groundwork and reach better striking power?
I wish my urologist would have known to tell me that 9 years ago when I started Lupron. I did continue to do treadmill work and side effects weren’t too bad, but I did lose lots of muscle. Thanks for the very informative video.
Also, can’t use the app. It does not allow you to have full picture.
The first attempt at this workout and I could only make it through the first set. I was sweating like I was in a sauna…lol I will get through this complete workout. Thanks for creating such a great workout for those of us that are getting back into fitness!
So I can get the same results by doing 3 whole body strength routines as if I did 2 upper and 2 lower body routines?:)
great workout…how many times a week can we do this workout?
I have a disk herniation with radiculopathy. It was pretty tough. Now I can do everything I want. Lifting again, grappling and whatnot. Don’t listen to quacks.
Hello, have you experienced Atomic Fat Loss? (just google it) You will discover the serious crimes we commit against our bodies. With “Atomic Fat Loss”, you will discover how to lose weight fast.
as far as strength training what do you think of cycling where you can adjust the intensity
I’ve been slacking on your workouts but that stops today! This looks like fun!
You guys are so great you’re so motivating I love your videos I’ve been doing the low impact exercises for a couple of weeks now and plan to continue you are very very motivating. You have a beautiful little family and it’s wonderful that you can work together with your wife in doing something that you could see you both love thank you so much! Do you have any advice on how to get my14-year-old boy who is quite thin to build up some muscles
Damn… I’m gonna stop bench pressing mother fuckas out the door! Good vid. I learned I’m too damn BIG… good learning video.
if i do cycling (not indoor) can i do only upper body workouts or should i do lower and upper on top of cycling?
Really I like your vedio very much, it’s really help me. One suggestion if possible put subtitle.
Sharing every workout with the Pelham Healthy School Team. Keeps me honest and a few people are starting to give it a try.
Been doing your videos for two weeks now and it’s opened up a new world for me. I used to only do cardio. Keep up the great videos, especially for us beginners.
So I’m confused. You guys want us to continue watching YouTube videos or App only?
Amazing timing. I just hurt my lower back a few weeks ago. Going from completely healthy 28 y/o Male to unable to do almost any barbell activities was a huge shock to me. Mine is more of an acute injury that may just need some R&R, but I’ll enjoy watching this nonetheless. Thanks.
I had the exact diagnosis as the girl he was talking about. ‘disc degeneration’, ‘constant pain’ ‘never lift again’ were the phrases I remember. so I started lifting and the pain is almost completely gone and my back is unbelievably stronger. Thanks for putting up this video!
Only just started lifting weights I’m 52 and I’m loving it, thank you you’re both so good just love your videos
Even if you are not a beginner, this can be a great workout.
Great workout! Thank you both! You do a great job at keeping us motivated!
Wow..what a great workout. Honestly had me sweating..I’ve been lifting weights for a few years now..wanted to strengthen my bones not only because I’m now 57 yrs young, but after surviving cancer my body needed to regain strength after all the chemo and radiation it withstood (6 yrs free now:) ) I still found this one tough even though I decided to lift lighter…so that tells me I’ve not been using correct form..I truly appreciate how much emphasis you put on that..I’m relearning and loving it. Thanks for all you do..it’s truly appreciated.
My father is almost 50 and about 6 years ago he had surgery for an L5/S1 cauda equina disk issue. I wanted to get him on starting strength to remove his skinny fatness (potbelly with skinny legs and arms at 6ft tall). Any complications or considerations for him? I’m considering putting him on starting strength.
I love you two. I workout with your video4-5 times a week. I like weight training (35 minutes 600 kcal)
Thanks so much for make me healthy
If you’re only doing striking, you probably ought to do some back exercises. You don’t necessarily need them in order to punch harder, but in terms of the upper body, punching primarily uses the muscles on the front of the body (pecs, front delts, etc.) and if you don’t do some resistance in the pulling motions and exercises for the back, eventually you’ll be pulling your shoulder into an unstable, unhealthy position from only working the muscles on the front of the body.
MMA guys don’t have to worry about this as much because you do so much pulling in jiu jitsu.
is it alright to do HIIT and strength training on the same day? I just wonder, or HIIT today and strength training the following day?
The scariest guys (and gals) that come into my boxing gym are gymnasts and people that did crew (rowing).
Hi Fitness Blender! i’m 19 and have been trying out your videos on youtube but i am confused as to what kind of videos I should be watching, I wanna lose weight but not bulk up, like just fat loss so should I do HITT videos + medium intensity cardio + strength training? I just don’t wanna be doing the wrong type of workouts. Also I am going to be purchasing the first 8 week fat loss program, would that be a good way to start? Thanks for taking time to read and I love your channel!!
Ok am really confused now, before I was doing cardio and strength training but a lot ppl said no lose the weight first then do strength training so I did.I do cardio 5 days a week only thats it.my question is how many days of cardio and strength training I need to do??I am 5 ft 145 lbs trying to lose 25 lbs plss help:(
This video is definitely great! It helps me recall of the time when my wife used Custokebon Secrets to get rid of 18 pounds and enjoy being healthy again! Most people want to lose fat, but we also need to stay nutritious, and that’s what exactly Custokebon Secrets gifted.
As expert, I do think Custokebon Secrets is good way to lost crazy amounts of weight. Why not give it a chance? perhaps it is going to work for you too.
I’m 20 years old and I’ve lost weight, like 30 pounds with diet and I have been doing cardio regularly; now, so I do a cardio routine 4 to 5 times a week, and I will start adding strength training like you said to my routine but not stopping the cardio, you recommend to do de strength training first, or the cardio?, because I`have another 30 pounds to loose. I hope you understand my question ^^.
Hey guys I am 14 soon to be 15 in 10th grade I just started strength training about around two weeks ago I go to gym at least 3 times a week I weight 199 currently and am trying to lose body fat in around 2 months I usually lift 12 reps of 80 8 of 90 and 6 of 100 I also have been dieting how much wieght can I lose if I keep up this routine and is there anything else I should do?
thankyou guys so much, im a hockey player and i’ve been loosing some weight during the summer from my training, however i’ve noticed i put on a few pounds since then since training got few a far between due to my studies, im 17 years old, and i weigh about 185-200lbs, your videos are helping me a lot, i have but one question: How many times a week should i workout for?
Hi guys, I see loads of posts about weight loss however, I need advise on not losing weight. I’m 7 1/2 stone 5ft and classed as skinny, my body is fine, but I wish to tone my muscles and keep my heart healthy. Should I do weight training? I’m worried I’ll lose weight. When I don’t have it to lose!
a muscular/athletic guy that knows how to fight will MOST OF THE TIME beat a guy that doesn’t lift but knows how to fight
If you want to lose weight and keep it off, i suggest you Google search for “PAFF Fat Furnace”. You are bound to achieve the beach body you should have.
Finally, I have finished foundation beginner program. It was really good.
My question is about dieting for weight loss. I heard that I should get rid of sugar from my diet and that includes fruits but this topic is so confusing because I’ve read that fruits are healthy and shouldn’t be excluded from my diet. Should I get rid all fruits from diet if I want to lose weight quickly as possible? Or should I continue eating fruit?
Quick question: Does punching muscle, or having the muscle experience a sudden impact while it’s contracting (having someone slam a medicine ball on someone who is doing crunches) actually make a muscle stronger?
I’d like to see that argument of his put to the test. A lean fighter vs. an over-muscled monster with equivalent fighting ability going at it in the gym and see which body type with which training does the best. When Shane sparred against Jujimufu his grappling was 100% ineffective because of the size and strength difference, so being a musclebound brute has to have its advantages in combat aside from a pure strength perspective. Also, wouldn’t someone like Eddie Hall or Brian Shaw, who are packing away 10k calories a day to function…wouldn’t they be effective in a ring and have plenty of energy to compete? If they knew how to fight, wouldn’t they be just as effective, if not more effective of a fighter compared to someone Shane’s size? I guess the only example I have in fiction for something like this was in Fearless with Jet Li, where he went up against Nathan Jones. In a real fight I would imagine that Nathan Jones would trounce him despite Li’s years of experience and training. Honestly curious about this because 2 fighters, who know how to fight, but with vastly different body types shouldn’t be fighting the exact same way. The big guy should be slow and ponderous, waiting for opportune moments to capitalize on his opponent while the smaller leaner guy should be quick on his feet, agile, and pick people apart. If you’re in a ring, you have limited space, so if I was a giant compared to my opponent I wouldn’t run around the ring chasing them, but if I was smaller I would definitely be highly mobile.
Antony Joshua managed to beat a lot of the best and he lifts weights all the time?
Starting Strength Back Pain Clinic, an idea for an enterprising doctor with an SSC.
How can I work a muscle without growing it? Let’s say I want to workout my traps but not grow the muscle just tone my upper body, and I want to grow my glutes? How do I go about in doing so?
QUESTION
you said 4 days, 2 upper, 2 lower
how would that hit all the upperbody muscles?
secondly, for diet:
should you stay at a caloric deficit but increase protein?
belive about muhamed ali but no way tyson never lifted https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HhQl52Cj8bk plus some fotage how he did
i’ve had undiagnosed lower back pain for about 20 years. X-ray showed nothing and I can’t afford an MRI, as far as I can tell, surgical interventions for things like herniated or degenerated discs are not common, so I don’t see much point in diagnosing the problem. treatments seem to all be the same. Stretching, strengthening and pain management.
Nice, but.I did -20 lbs past one month.Open hawght.so\#xJfX1x6
But Strength Training always requires dumbells. I don’t have one.:(
I hve seen many fighters like khabib nate diaz these guys dont gain muscle but they do weight lifting and have amazing power. But how?????
If you desire to lose weight in the fastest way possibile and keep it off, you should make a search on Google for “Cocora Fat Loss”. You are going to achieve the appearance you desire.
Hello.. I would like to train my muscles.. So would it be strength training or body weight. Please reply thanks:)
I think a lot of fighters could benefit from more general strength training. You always hear muscles dont win fights and they dont, but Its about training for strength not big muscles.
Hey guys, i would appreciate your advice on this.I am 201 cm in height, and i am 105 kgs.I have been lifting weights for 3 years now and i just started boxing 3 months ago.I have difficulty in keeping up my breath because of my muscle mass, until last week I was doing weight lifting 4 times a week(push-pull-push-pull), and 3 times boxing workout a week.
Recently I switched to 2 times of full body weight lifting a week, and going on to 3 boxing workouts a week.
What would you suggest me to do at this point?Should I drop extra muscle mass weight, is my weight okay?
Is 2 times weight lifting a lot for me now? my arms are 16.3 inches at 6.7″ in height
All fighters lift to gain strength not to gain size it ain’t body building
Ok legs are stronger than arms, what if i want to have lean legs, and doing body weight squats or light weight is not challenging anymore. Can i still lift heavier and have lean legs?
Wanted to know how many days to strength train versus boxing/mma training in a week and this douche just blew right past that question with absolute gibberish.
I finally made it through this whole workout. My legs and abs were like “you are gonna pay for this tomorrow!!” lol God that was awesome!
I have just found you here on YouTube and I am SO THRILLED with so many of your thoughts on health and fitness! I am still working on my own but in my research I have found that strength training vs steady state cardio is super important, that hiit workouts are awesome, and I love your take that food is not the enemy as long as what you are eating is good food. Anyway, thank you for your channel, and I have to say that OMG Kelly your eyes are absolutely gorgeous. That is all:)
Of course they can, look at Tim Bradley. Beat every man he faced, except for that 1 draw.
You know, I came far. When I woke up this morning, I was like, ain’t no way I’m going to do this for 45 minutes. I did it.
Even though I have been lifting weights for a few years now, I still love the beginners’ workouts especially the full length videos. Thank you for posting this.
Most of the fitness videos are about losing weight and burning fat. I am really skinny (female) and I want to build some muscle without losing much fat! Is this called bulking or so…? Are there any nutrition and fitness tips you can give me? Thanks a lot:) you rock!

if you dudes want to get ripped much faster without spending a single extra minute in the gym, then you have to look closely this video SIXPP.COMwith the breakdown of the medieval system, the gods of chaos, lunacy, and bad taste gained ascendancy.
the glycogen stored in the muscles is not used for a SPECIFIC excersises, the energy is there whenever the muscle needs it. Just like the “trgeting your fat burning zone is bullshit so is this. It is not like they explain at this part, there is no way the biceps to hold energy only for curls and then can do other excersises. That glycogen is there for energy in an overall manner, you can use that energy for anything, from punching to lifting weights. However, Yes punching with more muscle is does spend more energy than one without as much muscle, but keep in mind that muscle helps a lot with the force of the punches.
TLDR: Dont be a body builder but have enough muscle to pack a punch. And the crossfit dude has wrong information, or at least provided wrong info.

Thank you coaches for all the efforts you put in to help people stay fit. Your exercise regime has helped me lose almost 20 pounds in past 7-8 months. Now my friends envy me . I do not hesitate to share my secret with them. Thanks once again. Stay blessed!!
I do exercise so that I can EAT my favourite goodies…..YUM…live to eat…haha
strength training 4x/week and HIIT 3-4x /week…but I guess mixing the 2 would be too much? that would mean working out every day with no rest. So how would you best combine the two? thanks a lot…love those vids that are not actual workouts.

To all my fellow competing MMA practitioners, what would you say is the 2 biggest reasons stopping you from implementing strength and conditioning program into your training?
My question may sound silly but I am over weight.. need to loose 25-30 lbs mainly from thighs/legs and stomach. I want to try strength training as you said women dont get bulky… i have hormones imbalance issue. will i still not get bulky? plz do reply thanks.
Thanks guys for your super helpful videos. I’m really enjoying the variety of workouts that you provide. I was just wondering…. Where will I fit Cardio in my week, if I have to fit in 4 strength training workouts? I have a very busy schedule but I’m trying to fit regular exercise in, so I’m not sure how or where I’d fit more sessions in. I would appreciate some pointers. Thanks so much guys!:-)
Would it be recommended to do HIIT followed by strength training?
Have you tried Cosmos Fat Loss? (Go google it) It is a quick way to burn off fat fast.
Love you guys!! Been doing your workouts all month and seeing results
random BUT after working out to your videos, usually its “MUTE” since I use my own music NOW have I only heard you guys talk haha fml -_
Basically, focus on increasing your strength and conditioning during your off season (when you don’t have to fight), and when you have a fight coming up, prior to 2-3 months, then you focus a lot more on fight training and a little bit of strength and conditioning to maintain your strength for the fight
Shane ur videos are always super informative u can tell that u truly are a student of the game and awesome video here really touches on what I’ve been wondering for a long time
I am willing to lose 40lbs. Should I only do cardio? Or shall I at least do 2/3 days of Strength training in a week?
What is a good combination of reps and sets in strength training for beginners?
if i dont sweat while doing this, do i have to increase the weight? I usually only do cardio, today was my first attempt strength training. When I do cardio, the sweat is runnin! Thanks for the workout.
Hi I do you video several times a week need to loose more pounds. I have had to start on steroids due to colitis. I don’t want to bulk up should I not do weights while on my 6 week course of steroids? Any advise from anyone would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for helping me get fit
Hey FitnessBlender just a quick question re strength training. Is it best to do weights or bodyweight. Are weights a more efficient way of exercising? I do some weights already but also do pilates reformer classes and privates which are quite strenuous. Does reformer come under “strength training” or should I up the weight/bodyweight workouts as well? I am a woman in my early 50’s and am discovering how a slower metabolism in mid age is a nightmare!
Hi guys! Your videos are epic and I love how authentic you are!! Not sure if this was asked and I could not see it in any of the comments. Please say I am not the ONLY one who has noticed this? But when you’re eating clean, doing strength training and a combination of cardio 4 times a week, why is it that your clothes feel tighter and it even looks like you’re bigger compared to when you could not train for a week and it seems like you’ve lost weight and look even more toned? Thanks, you’re awesome by the way!
Can I gain muscle from strength training without adding extra calories? Or do I need to eat more calories when strength training.
Back pain is a fascinating topic to people with back pain, or people who have had it that don’t want it back, which incidentally is almost everyone.
I was wondering if you guys could do recipe videos where you show us how to make healthy and delicious meals.
that was so informative. thanks a ton.just a questioni am a woman and what should be the ideal weight to use?i have heard from you guys that we should use a weight that challenges us while doing the last few reps..but could you please tell me the difference between using a light weight and many reps, and a heavy weight and minimum reps. thanks again. love you guys.:)
Just asking for a friend. But can you get abs by getting one of the ab flexer belts and just sit on couch and get results. Look into it for me so I can let my friend know. Thanks!!
The constant chatting is annoying. Next time will switch sound off as content is good.
Again with the fucking body types (somatotypes)… Have you ppl learned nothing from the V-Shred incident? Better not let Alan Roberts hear abut that
I myself benefit greatly from weighted resistance training and I know many coaches who will agree (the late great Charles Polliquin comes to mind). For everyone claiming muscles will make you slow and inflexible I raise you Brian Le. He is incredible
If you are still hesitant at the very least do a shitload of push ups –
I find it ironic that a McDonalds ad played before this vid lol
I am a 38 yr old woman,I weigh 136 and want to down to 125. I eat pretty healthy, I want to looked toned! Especially get rid of love handles and get toned stomach. hehe Lerner hehe Lernen means learn in german. And he’s a coach! xD
This guy has some really good points (particularly about specificity and training “economy”) but his understanding of glycogen storage is a little bit off.
Hey guys, how can I build muscle without wights, (like the quuestion below) but more specifically, biceps, I can do lots of pull-ups and push ups -all kinds of-, but not really working for bicep (unlike my triceps and chest) how can I make it bigger/stronger?
