Anybody ever tried indoor soccer shoes for crossfit? I’m thinking about trying it. Most of them have a hard rubber sole that should do fine on a rope climb.
Would this be a good shoe for moving furniture daily and lifting weights/running? Is it durable
Hey! I want to buy these shoes, but how do they fit in size? And i have a pretty wide feet and dont know if they will fit me:(
Would be interested to hear your thoughts on training in a vivo barefoot trainer
I do a lot of jumping and plyometric. But i m afraid that i might damage my knees in long term. I wear normal reebok running shoes. Please suggest me few shoes based on the type of workout that i have mentioned above
But do the laces stay tied? That’s my biggest complaint with my metcons
On Amazon you can find much cheaper ones like this one: @t thats my favorite pair of fitness shoes.
Hey mate got these a week or two ago and loving them, but how are you finding getting them on and off? I’m actually using a shoe horn to avoid wrecking the inside of the heel, got any thoughts? Cheers
You should try the speed TR 2.0 it’s like the lovechild of the nano 2.0 & 6.0, legit the best cf shoe after the 6.0.
I am thinking about getting Free X metcon for like lifestyle use and some light gymming. Are they worth it? Or do you recommend some other shoe
If I own the nano 8s already would you recommend getting the speed TR also? Or are they too similar? I found the nano 8s not the best to run in (only run 1-1.5mi to the gym) but love them otherwise. Perhaps I should explore the metcon 4s instead?
Low top basketball shoes have been a game changer for me in terms of training….Dame4 and harden 2 b/e…I much prefer them over nanos
Great review. I have wide feet but defo prefer the metcon 4 over Nano 8 for running, lifting and hiit. Nanos gave me feet ache during workouts.
I’m sooooo happy i found them:) after seeing the video i went online to order them but didnt see them on the canadian site, however i went into a reebok store today and they had them in the clearance section:) cannot wait to wod in these tomorrow:) they feel so nice on!!!! Thx for the review
Going to give these a try… love my Nano 9 BUT there not the best to run in like the 8s…
Great information! Ive been wanting to get Metcon 4s, but with somewhat of a wider fit, may have to go Reeboks. Thanks for helping with that.
You’re not supposed to do long distance runs in crossfit shoes anyway, so that shouldn’t be a criterion.
Metcon React + Romaleos 3 is the best combo for my trainings!=)
Love my nano 6 too! I can tell you love your 3.0 coz you’re smiling the whole time
Nice review man. Crossfit/training shoes, I look to you and AsManyReviewsAsPossible for the best and most accurate advice. I’ve been wanting NOBULLs forever but nowhere to try them on. I have flat and wide (pancake) feet. I usually only do about.5-1 mile before lifts, will the NOBULLS be cool? My flat feet make me overpronate which is the only reason I don’t care for the NANO 8s, not enough of a wide base in midfoot.
Last year I bought the nano 5 pump I think it was called and after 4 months it was already broken. It was still pumping up but during the training it was getting empty all the time. I won’t buy any shoes with that kind of system anymore although this shoe really looks great.
“This is the all around best shoe… not the best for HIIT but it’s the best shoe…”
I’d be tempted to try the React if they didn’t have all that awful branding on the upper.
What do u think about training crossfit using a pair of shoes like the Everlast Forceknit? I saw a Guy in a video talking about these shoes and the stability It provides but I’m sure if I can trust his analysis and now I’m curious about It xD
i want some metcons….but the only cross training i do is on Xbox
HK based @laneeight is my workout kicks.and sustainably built*
thinking about getting Nike Superrep go shoes for the gym or ultraboosts. Is this good or bad?
You should get a comission from Reebok because I just bought these. They’re only available in white here in Germany, but I just couldn’t pass them up at that price. Thanks for the review!
Literally none of these are affordable shoes….all over priced. Review some cheaper shoes on Amazon please.
Y’all are my favorite people. You seem so happy and so nice and it’s genuine. It didn’t feel fake at all, and I never go out of my way to say that. Subbed
My workouts mainly consist of jumproping, HIIT, plyometrics, agility/speed training and I sometimes jog for 30 mins. I don’t lift, I only do bodyweight exercises. I’m thinking of buying one of these: the ua hovr rise, ua tribase reign 2, nike free metcon 2/3, and in season tr9, air zoom fearless flyknit 2, airzoom superrep hiit and ultraboosts 20. What shoe would you suggest for me?
Coming from Metcon 4s and nano 8s I picked up the nano 9s on sale and I have to say I love them. However, on the first day of rope climbs with them I was missing my Metcon 4s. Love everything else about them though.
I can’t believe you made this video. I have been debating whether to get the pumps for months. Finally ordered them on Friday in white and then you did this review. So glad you rate them and I haven’t wasted my money.
What do you think about the mizuno tc-01? I haven’t found a review on them.
There is also an army green Inov8 235 v3 so there are 4 colors. Womens also comes in purple.
I was anticipating a UA on the list but, they are nowhere to be seen..just got the UA limitless TR 3.0 to use for strenght training sessions & maybe brisk walks..not sure how they’d fair!!
Craig I watch all of your videos and I highly recommend you watch ‘what the health’ on Netflix it’s really informational, would love to hear what you think of it and if it makes you change your diet at all. thanks
Such a great video! Trying to decide between Metcon 4s and No Bulls and this was so helpful!
Great info. I needed some ideas for a good pair of sneakers.
Love my metcon 5s against the Nano 8 so much that I also bought the React without even searching for reviews. Never been a Nike fan boy but the Metcons have changed that.
Great reviews Joe. Very in-depth.
1 Nano 9 1:02
2 Inov8 235 1:56
3 Project Rock 2 3:20
6(?) Metcon 5 4:25
4 NB minimus prevail 5:15
5 React Metcon 6:20
I’ve always been a Nano fan all the way through the 9s…but I got the Nike Metcon Reacts (black) and I gotta admit…definitely love em! I absolutely hated the huge Nike logo on top so I actually got some black paint and a small paint brush from Walmart and painted over it . It came out so good that I’m thinking of getting the white ones and doing the same!
Metcon 4 and 5 dont seem good for running but good for everything else
Happy new year Joel!!! All the best to you and the Fam.
Quick question, Do you happen to know if the reactCon’s are going to be available in any other colorways? I really really want to try the shoe out, but the looks man….the looks. The NIKE letters are WAY too big for my taste. lol. I was wondering if any colorway to come would help and kinda “camouflage” the letters…. Thanks for all you do for the CF community. Take care
Yoo! Whats the best training shoes under $60? My budget is so low.
Would the reebok speed tr flexweave help me with both running on the treadmill and outside on a track? It seemed to me that this shoe stood out the most but maybe you or someone else has more insight.
Love the react metcons so far, but in my first rope climb workout in burned off part of the top logo! As long as you avoid those it should be good
Whoa, awesome job creating best categories for different types of feet and styles of training for both men and women. This should be getting over 100k views! I scratch my head when I see people training or lifting weights with Nike Free running shoes or Adidas Boost. Thanks for the good tip. I’ll be sharing this with my workout community.
my top 5 training shoes of 2019
5. nike metcon 5
4. nike metcon 5
3. nike metcon 5
2. nike metcon 5
and coming in at #1 is…
nike metcon 5!
And what about climb rope? Anyone knows if this pump 3.0 is resistant for this kind of training?
Hi! Awesome video! Thanks for this. I had a question. With some of the reebok shoes, I face issues with support to the arch wherein after a couple of minutes of running/workout, the arch gets fatigued and starts paining. Do we have good support to the arch in Speed TR flexweave?
I want to buy 3-pairs of sneakers for a beginner machine weight-training, elliptical and treadmill aerobics, and a stretching routine 5-days per week. Based on this sneaker review, especially for flat-feet, I sense the following 3-pair would meet this functionality and style need feedback anyone?
1. Reebox Froning = Leg Press (High-Mid-Low Positions @ Wide-Shoulder-Close Stances… 3-Versions X 3-Variations = 9-Set Volume MWF)
2. Nike Metcon 4 = Elliptical (60-minutes M-F PM)
3. Nike DSX FlyKnit Metcon 2 = Treadmill (60-minutes M-F AM)
If I could only afford 1-pair, it would probably be the Nike Metcon 4 cross-trainer or NoBulls.
Excellent A+ succinct product video. Thank you for making and sharing. Bravo!
Can I play basketball outdoors with any of these or should I just get basket ball shoes?
awesome video!!! if you have to choose between the speed tr flexaweave and the nano 8 flexaweave, mostly for crossfit class and gym training, what would you choose? thank you for everything
I just got the react metcons I hope they will do fine for weightlifting
Hi, i’m looking for a cross-trainer that I could use now and then to play tennis. Any recommendations?
Have you ever tested New Balnace Minimus? They are newer and need some refinement, but are a great classic new balance option
The pump button thingy on those shoes is the only reason why I wouldn’t consider buying them. Other than that they look great.
Just take your mid soles out of your 3s or 4s and use them in the 5s. Best of both worlds with that set up.
Drop the soy and get some Braggs Aminos! Tastes similar and Braggs is better for you!
Thanks for everything all year long, Joel. Happy New Year to you and your family.
Same here jas ever since I fell slowly getting better tho
Nano 9’s would be my favorite, but I can’t find a comfortable way to run in them. The Inov-8 235’s are amazing too, I wish more people would try them.
Crossfit is a sport just like head-on collisions are a driving technique.
Would agree about the fit. They are more snug in the toe box and narrower midfoot compared to metcon 4 XD I bought earlier this year. It seems they’re really pushing for these to be geared towards lifting, as running sucked in these. I do 5ks without issue in the 4s, but these felt too stiff. I also find the colors a little boring for Nike, as the design is closer to Nobull.
Best for CrossFit are definitely the Nano 6. Never tried the Froning but here it’s legit.
Great review! Nice to see you adapting the workouts to suit you as well ✔️
I usually run on the treadmill for ten minutes, then perform compound lifts in a gym. Should I get the Speed TR Flexweave or the Nano 8?
That pump is just annoying… i played hockey and had pump in my reebok skated and i did not like that at all
I agree that the nano 9 are the best. Having wide feet, it’s been a while since I’ve been been happy with a shoe I can use for just about any movement. But the nano 9’s check all the boxes with great stability, grip, and at the same time still being a comfortable shoe
Nano 8 >nano 9 how the hell the 9s don’t have an all white version
Hi Richey, I was wondering if you still have the nano 3 pump shoes? If I’m correct I see you with the new nano 8’s?! Which are better? Thx!
What a variety of shoes to choose from…I will be eager to see what all the Reebok CrossFit-ers and metcon lovers think of the Under Armour tried base reign since I’m sure Under Armour was included in the list of potential winners. The rock pr1, the architect futurist get over looked due to size and design. UA kills it with cross training.
How’s the sizing on the sweater from Below Parallel? I’m 5 ft 7 155 lbs right now. Love the content, keep it coming brother!
Hi what would you recommend for lifting weights and running/cardio exercises. Thanks!!
Can’t find them in US cuz 25 years ago they had pumps on the tongue of high tops and it was a gimmick.. give u hops like Mike lol
Just got the Nano 8 Flexweave and Speed TR Flexweave. Couldn’t decide between the twoSpeed TR’s look nicer to me than the Nano 8 but I think the Nano 8 might be more durable. Decided to go with the Speed TR based on your input. Thanks.
Solo 20 min después de llenar las zapatillas, ya has calentado para entrenar
Your supporting domestic terrorism, stay American and don’t buy nike.
I know in previous vids you had talked about having a wide foot, how is the width of these metcons? Are they comfortable width wise? I also have bear paw feet.
I’ve seen those shoes on sale near where I live but I’ve never been sure of buying them….guess what shoes just went on my wish list ☺ thanks for the review! also congrats to Jaz on her box overs! #likeforjaz
I just wanna say that, i, absolutely love you two!:’D
Hands down my favorite channel! ^_^
Great video. I happen to have the Speed TR and after that I bought the Metcon 4 and Nano 8 just to see if they were a whole lot better. The Metcon 4 feels the most stable, but the heel slip is annoying, and just like you said, it’s not something I would want to wear for a long time. The Nano 8 is more comfortable than the Metcon 4 and a little more stable than the Speed TR, but I noticed when I got on the treadmill it felt like a brick compared to the Speed TR, plus it has a little bit of heel slip (not as bad as the Metcon 4). The Speed TR has the most secure fit (no heel slip), it’s the lightest, I can wear them all day, and I can still squat for PR’s on them. They all have their strengths and I rotate all 3 of them, but the Speed TR that I only paid $50 for is the one I’d keep if I can only have one.
Still enjoying them? I came across a pair online for purchase here in the USA and I think they might be fake. But I really want them! Lol
Happy new year and more power. UA Tribase Reign 2.0, your thoughts?
Man I want a pair of these. Sadly they are not in the USA at all and I don’t think they are planning on releasing them here. I have wide feet, the 7s and TRs are far too narrow for me.
Really enjoyed your break down testing of them. They seem super solid! Grats on the new shoes, you have instilled me with shoe envy as well!
I love the Metcon 4 for strength training, works great for HIIT too. I love the support
Just got a pair of metcon 2’s in the post yesterday. finally got to wear them for a workout today after 24hrs on the ambulance. don’t rate them that well for running, too flat and hard, but love them for dynamic movement and lighter weightlifting in a WOD. reckon I’m gonna get proper running shoes, one of them swedish brands prolly. they look super comfortable for longer distance.
Trying to find a versatile supportive shoe, good for the gym and outdoor running, anyone help out?
I’m curious what your thoughts are on Nike Metcon Flyknit 3. Any review for that coming?
Add a best running shoes video! Sprints/intervals, short distance runs, medium distance runs, long distance, and marathan/5ks etc.
VivoBarefoot Primus SwimRun are by far the best shoes I have ever bought. Highly recommended!
I wear the Metcon 5’s. But I only use the included heel padding for squats a leg presses.
hey Craig how about rope climb grip. the 6’s are awesomely grippy with the side panel. Are the Pumps less robust?
Nice video, but I thought any minimal shoe is best for weights.
Nano 9 models currently on sale now. Expect the price to drop further.
I find that your content always adds value to me. I appreciate your straightforward style and sincerity, keep up the good work.
Thank you soooo much!!! The HIIT category was what I def looking for!!!
Mos def…champion jump-cutter!! pip pip Bob’s your uncle!! Great work…love the content!
Those are great! I was looking for them here in the US but I can’t find them at all!
Hey TeamRICHEY, We would love to be part of your next review! Let me know if there is any interest and we will get some shoes over to you:)
They are as good as the nano 6.0? because i would love to have them again, but thats quite difficult. But they are selling this version.
Definitely a drastic difference between the 4s and 5s. The Metcon 4s are MUCH more flat. Going forward, I’ll most likely choose the 4s on barbell-heavy days and the 5s on mixed or cardio/gymnastics days.
How do you feel bout Puma CrossFit? I have it and it’s ok. I think I need a more narrow CrossFit shoe cause it seems to make my feet hurt
My running shoes after they are retired (500 miles) do the job for me. Not ideal but cheaper.
Nike Free TR v8’s do the job for me and picked them up from an outlet for $40 so if you’re on a budget hit those up. You can still do anything on them but just for the 1rm’s I would switch to metcon’s for better stability, but 80% of the wods i’ll use these, awesome for box jumps and burpees.
Speed TR 2 FW were an amazing surprise, i bought them expecting a “meh” shoe, but it performs amazingly, it’s stable and lightweight, heavily recommend
Every once and awhile, as i cruise through your videos, the coronation street theme starts playing in my head when we get to see a clip of your neighborhood…..and I have no idea why
Hahah your swedish pronunciation is priceless #vislutarinte
I know that you can get solutions for that on Unflexal website:)))
Thank god you didn’t include Converse. Seriously, what are people thinking? It has got a firm rubber sole.
4s only look a little bit better?! Ugh try infinitely better. Loved the 4s from an aesthetics point of view.
Thanks for doing a first impressions video! Glad you’ve finally seen the light and don’t hate the metcon a though!
I used to have the speed tr 2.0 and metcon 4. Still have the tr 2.0 i like those better as they fit my feet better. The metcons were to constricting. I was actually surprised as i have normal arches with a narrow foot, and thought the metcons would be good but ended up starting to constrict my feet and the soles started seperating. The reeboks thus far have proven to be very durable and comfortable. Now i just need to decide between the metcon 5 and nano 9. Leaning towards the nanos
Now you just need some outrageous stance socks to go with them new shoes!!
Damn, now I also have new shoe envy….. Damn you, I might have to buy some as well….
Hi there. I read a lot of positive reactions on the performance of the nano 9 (Reebok website). But also read a lot of bad ones about the quality. Did you have any quality issues with the nano 9? And will you review the Tribase 2 soon?
The shoe reviews are awesome I use these when I’m looking at getting some workout shoes for myself
What shoe would you recommend for a 6’1″ long femur short body person that needs a shoe to do squats. I currently have an old pair of adidas power perfect II’s. I’m looking for a shoe with at least a 3/4″ heel.
If you like the nano pumps, you should definitely give the speed TR 2.0’s a try! Unbelievable shoe for the price!
I had the Pump 2 and now have the pump 3 best shoes ever, love em. Strangely never seen anyone else in them.
Where did you get these?? For some reason I literally can’t find them anywhere and I can’t get my hands on the nano 6.0s and these look amazing!
Metcon 5 have the best colors shit is trash I wonder how Matt faser is going to perform at the games in them
Great review. I tried these yesterday and the 4s.. crazy how big a difference. Like you, I order the look of the 4.. I’ll get the 5, once some better colours surface here in Europe.
Having trouble finding the speed TR Flexweave in the color you have in this video. Was that a limited release?
Between the Nike Free X Metcon and the Reebok Froning 1, which wins?
Love my Fraser 5s . Want the navy blue ones Rouge just released!
I don’t think we have those in the US, at least I cannot find them:(
Glad i’m not the only one who had trouble with box jumps!! Those shoes though
Australia’s wide range of weightlifting shoes available for Men and Women Athletes https://goo.gl/MzX4D7
Now we know what Tom Holland looks like when he starts doing crossfit!
Hi. I was wondering if you were able to test the Nike Metcon 4XD and how you’d place them in the list?
Can I please have the name of the other shoe lifter in your video?? Really would like to get one.
Honestly I have a true 2E foot and the Nano 8’s are a little too narrow for me.
Why do I see Tom Holland hahaha jk.. 1/2! Helpful review!
i got the nano 8 n absolutely love them just dam comfortable as heck….the only reason i didnt go for nano 9 when lacing of the bunching up at the top….
Fuck Reebok and their anti Trump hypocritical bullshit, once CF drops them in a couple years the brand will die.
Hi! Nice review dude!
Where can we find those green inserts you show in the review?
Thanks!
Just got a pair of Nano 9’s last week for a killer deal; my first pair of nano’s. I have wide feet and have not really loved the Metcon’s since the Metcon 2, although I faithfully purchased the 3’s, 4’s and 5’s. REALLY dislike like 5’s: narrow like the 3’s and 4’s and too soft feeling in the sole. Also having the outsole pulling away. I am LOVING the Nano 9 so far and just hit a squat PR in them. Definitely recommend: can be found at good prices right now and a better shoe than the Metcon 5’s IMO.
Really want to get a pair when new colour ways come out, although my 4xd’s are still in great condition and shouldn’t buy new shoes
I like the Nano 9 a lot but for me the Metcon 5 is the most comfortable and stable shoe I’ve worn.
are the metcon 5s a good predecessor of the 4s? I’m considering buying the 5s instead of the 4s because it’s new.. other than that, nice vid!
So far I love mine! But it definitely sounds like I’m wearing heels sometimes
@BarBend would you still recommend the Adidas Crazy Train Elite, any comments on it and why???
What’s a good beginner shoe? I’m going on 3 months and I’ve been using chuck taylors lol on running events I have running shoes but have been using chucks. They suck but I don’t know what beginner shoe I could use. I didn’t wanna dive in and buy an expensive shoe because I’m still fairly new to it all (3 months in) any feedback is appreciated
Love watching you Jas and your pop, keep on putting out the awesome stuff!! I live in Florida and was wondering if you knew how I could get the pumps, they don’t seem to be sold in America?
I wonder if Reebok will take a hint and just re-release the Nano 6’s next year. Hope so.
so, i’ve never owned a pair of trainers, i wear shoes, boots and TOMs
but i’ve been going to the gym for too long now to still be wearing TOMs
so i bought a pair of the React Metcons, but i’m not sure how comfortable i feel in them.. the only others i was looking at were the mint green Metcon 5s
i feel they’d suit me more
thinking of returning the React for the 5s
Loved the look and feel of the metconxfrees but I noticed if I did a lot of box jumps/ jump rope/ running that the arch of my foot would hurt the next day so I switched to nano 8s and have no pain. How’s the arch feel? wondering in your opinion if you think that would be a problem for me I’ve had my eye on these.
Bought these this week, first workout during the warmup my feet started to cramp in them. During a run, going around a tight corner my foot slipped within the shoe as well. Hoping things improve as my feet get used to them. Otherwise i’ll be buying the Nano 9s when they come out (not out in the UK yet).
The Alpha Boosts are one of the best shoes I’ve ever worn, incredibly comfortable, but still stable enough for the gym.
Could you please make a video addressing your nutrition in a little bit more detail in regards to when you eat around your training? I find that Crossfit athletes rarely give out details about how they eat
Awesome video. I could definitely use a good pair of sneakers for my physical therapy
Not a Nike fan with all their anti American bull shit! They make their shoes in China sweat shops and slave labor, $2-3hr if that.
