Oakley Aro3 all the way. I’ve had many. Oakley is very lite, looks good, super comfortable and only two pads inside. Easy to clean and having to replace the pads is cheap as opposed to say….a kask that has like 8 pads and the bastards want 30 bucks plus shipping for replacement pads.

Dude. Fit is based on head size and shape. You can’t rank fit without even adjusting helmet and strapping on. Everyone has different head shapes. Some designs cater to skinny faces and other to wide faces. Many helmets come with extra pads or you adjust with the plastic adjuster.
BTW, most people look retarded in helmets, but while riding, who is actually paying attention. People only notice helmets when looking at pro races, but it’s non taken up to much focus really.

BUY BEWARE……VICTGOAL Bike Helmet customer service and shipping procedures are HORRIBLE. i ordered two helmets and was told it would take 20 days for delivery. Then they said 30 days well it’s now been over 40 DAYS AND STILL KNOW HELMETS. Do you have any advice on how to avoid falling when riding over a water puddle? I was riding my road bike recently and I went over a water puddle and it felt like someone kicked the bike from under me and I broke my collar bone! I noticed when I went from mountain bike to a rode bike I have fallen more on water puddles because it the tires are skinnier.
Now that I know The Great Gazoo is a bike rider, it makes me feel better about the future.

so basically there is no perfect best helmet,shoei/arai is quality but god damn they are expensive if you poor.Plus gett8ng something like that you have to be careful not to bang it around on stuff,leaving it on the bike,not scratching it,otherwise after 2 years you are left with a expensive used helmet thats scuffed up here and there that you might want to change,and there goes another thousand bucks for another expensive helmet

Couldn’t agree more. I’ve been wearing Bell Star street helmets for the past decade, and they are always evolving and getting better. My Shoei RF1200 is a close 2nd, but the Bell is more comfortable, quieter at speed, and the ProTint shield transitions much faster than the Shoei transition shield. Just ordered a 2020 DLX Carbon. Can’t wait to get it out on the road!

I own myself an Icon Airflite (and a Shoei plus a Simpson Ghost) Quality/price is spot on and I will agree it has its advantages and disadvantages. Overall I like it, it’s comfortable for my head, decent sound proof, good aerodynamic and inside fabric liner. I dislike the fact that the iridium visors Don’t come in pinlock ready. I understand why you skipped high end brands because it’s unfair competition but HJC does good helmets and entry level AGV feel really cheap, almost like knock off. This is just my opinion. You actually wore the helmets and showed it on your head at the perfect distance from the camera and for the perfect amount of time. Knowing what I know now, I could roll with Giro’s $50 MIPS helmet and call it a day. I still rock my Giro Prolight because it’s still a cool riding helmet, it still looks great and it still as light as a gnat’s eyelash. If I had to upgrade for whatever reason, today’s helmets are so good that you can really get yesterday’s flagship in Giro’s entry-level line and then some.
Of course, “fit” is subjective so I won’t even judge that, but all other things being objective (cooling, safety technology, retention options, etc…), Giro’s Isode would do…as long as it’s all black. ��

In my opinion there’s diminishing returns in terms of look and functionality around the $100 mark, I would never pay $300 for a POC, Giro or MET.
Giro themselves however make great looking helmets at much lower price points as well as Lazer.
According to your website, the Airflite is a long oval. I’m a little bit interested because the intermediate oval of my Shoei seems a bit short front to back. They are easily available in dealerships. Trying to find an Arai Signet X to try on is almost impossible. A local dealership carries the Quantum?

Try Bell Super 2R or 3R or the newer Air. It is a favorite helmet for many including me. Remove the chin guard, and it still looks good.

I bought the extremely cheap Giro Isode, you get this helmet with MIPS… fits good, does not look to bad.
The AGV K6 is a very nice helmet. I’m surprised they didn’t mention the 5 layer multi density eps liner and four different head shells. It’s way ahead of the class in this video. I wear an RF1200 but Shoei needs to redesign it and the X14 to keep up!

Any idea how the POC omni air fits? My head fit is just like the POC you find tight from the back to the front (wide fit.) My head circumference is 56; it is really hard for me to find a helmet that fita due to my wide head crown shape. Thanks
Guys, you ignore the one factor which makes up about 90% of what I look for in a helmet: QUIETNESS. Usually this consideration is dismissed in helmet reviews with the excuse that “we can’t say how loud this helmet will be on your head or on your bike”. Not helpful, please just say how quiet the lid is each reviewer’s head and this would be good.

I found the perfect helmet for me and I didn’t even know the shoei RF-SR existed. Saw it at cycle gear. Got it with the transitions face shield. I love it. no drop down tinted shield needed and I can use my Sena 20 which isn’t really a good option with some of the other newer shoei helmets.
I don’t wear a helmet unless I’m going mountain biking which is rare. I’m more worried about my family jewels than my head if I fall

fit is totally 100% skull shape dependent. You can’t rate fit based on one head. For me, fit is first criteria. “Looks”, you got to be kidding me. lol

I really think the whole thing is a bit of a con job price wise. I think the real price of these lids is the 2nd year sale price. They bring out new stuff every year and sell off last years model at big discounts. There’s no way this business model would work in the helmets cost that much to make or develop. They make a big profit out of the people that have to have the latest thing in the first year, normal markup the second year when they are 30-40% off then sell them off 50-60% after that to get rid. Saying that, always wear a helmet ⛑:)
