I am excited to try this new way of eating without wheat. I have only been doing this 2 days. I have been suffering with higher levels of anxiety, constantly hungry, elevated blood pressure, poor sleep, unusual skin eruptions, love affair with bread and have had gestational diabetes in the past. Could all of this disappear with the removal of wheat from my diet? I am excited to find out. During these past few days I have had a headache which I have heard Dr Davis mention this could be a s/s of detox during the first week. I am excited for the days ahead to hopefully feel much better.
heres my diet. potatoes, ground beef, salsa, vegetables, and rice
He shouldn’t have said their are no candy or candy bar withdrawal symptoms. Sugar is a big addictive for many people.
Look at other countries for non-grain recipes, like almond cake in Italy. The Italians have pasta, sure, but they don’t eat as much flour as you’d expect. Most traditional sweets use very little sugar and almond, chestnut or coconut flours (chestnut is naturally sweetish, so you can use even less sugar).
I should add: sweets should be a treat, like at Thanksgiving, birthday or Christmas, not a weekly or even monthly thing. Sometimes ya just wanna fit in and eat “normally” like other folks plus it’s a great way to introduce non-grains to mainstream eaters
I’ve been off wheat, any gluten products for 40 years. Because I can’t digest it at all. As a child, when ever I had a sandwich, I didn’t do a#2 for 5 days I was taken to the doc. Was diagnosed with lazy bowel and given laxatives evey day of my young life YUCK.
As I got a bit older, I found out through Encylopaedia britannica, that my bowel wasn’t where my intestines were, so I knew I was lied to all my short life.
Wasn’t until the 90’s, I couldn’t resist a pizza ( gluten free pizza didn’t exist) so I had a piece and back to the doctor 4 days later. It was a different doc, in a different state. She felt my intestines, and gasped, then asked me in a very concerned look and voice “ has this happened before” I told her all my young life until I quit eating anything made of flour. As a child that’s all I knew about it. I told her a piece of pizza did this. So she asked me more questions and told me she will take a blood test. She called me back days later to come back in. She had a lot of pamphlets and paperwork, and explained to me that my blood test indicated that it looked like I may have celiac disease. What?? I’d never heard that before. Then she told me about gluten…What?? I’d never heard that word before either. So she said I needed to have a biopsy… I asked more questions, so then I asked after more info from her, if I remove all gluten from my diet, will it help..she said yes, but I have to stay off it forever. I said I would. She told me that the gluten damages the small intestine if I do have celiac disease. So I’ve been gluten free. It’s not too hard for me because of the symptoms it causes, and I was already gf until the piece of pizza.
When I realized I had gluten issues, gluten intolerance was not a saying…it didn’t exist. Gluten free food didn’t exist. I relied on fresh fruit, veg, and proteins and dairy. I barely weigh 100lbs, and I feel so damn good. I even had a different doc recently ask why I didn’t put any medications on the list, I said I don’t take any meds, except may be a Tylenol occasionally. He was shocked, he said all the people your age take meds…. then a nurse asked me why I didn’t have meds on the list… same thing, I said I don’t take meds…she said “ That’s amazing for your age” I don’t know if that was a compliment…. I’m almost 50, with no medication and a bit below the recommended weight for my height.
I am pre disposed to diabetes genetically, my blood sugar is perfect. I do make my own gluten free bakery products occasionally.
Funny how American Indians, Inuit, Masai, and indigenous peoples were healthy and doing well til they were introduced to the highly improved western culture and, especially, diet. And it’s just getting worse.
He is a great speaker! Definitely make sense why im struggling with gluten allergy… Thank you!
Thats amazing. And I am a wheat farmer. Id like to know if handling the grain has any effect of you if you were to totally cut it out of your diet. And Id like to ask him. What If I plant Emmer wheat?! I dono if i could sell it anywhere. Wonder if I could start another market for it and get this crap turned around. I really always hated how they screw with the breeds of wheat or any crop for that matter and then thats what we are sold for seed to grow. They have genetically modified corn and soybeans and lots of other crops. I HATE it! I always knew it wasnt right and this is proof. I myself have definitely noticed my health not being what it should be.. Boy I’d like to get this turned around. Thanks for this awesome well informed video.
You can still have irratable bowel syndrome after not eating wheat as there are many causes for this condtion and many things which can go wrong in the entire digestive system.
So, I can’t eat pasta made from neither corn flour, nor potato flour?
White basmati rice is gluten free..safer to eat as a carb than say, brown rice or wheat. The rice is stripped of the inflammatory husk, antinutrients & arsenic. Lower in starch as well but still require portion control bcos it is a high glycemic food.
Even with no noticeable symptoms, giving up wheat improved how I felt, less hungry. more energy etc. and I couldn’t figure recently why all my trousers wont quite stay up round my waist. Prove it to yourself, its worth it.
I,ve been off wheat and dairy for one month. Feel much been.no asthma.
ok, ok, I apologize you all convinced me to try, thank you for opening my eyes❣️
America is being terrorized through food. Pharmaceutical businesses are probably owed by people who terorize America.
I have had chronic pain for over 30 years. Doctors have been NO help to me. They just did test after test, and gave me drug after drug. It has been a nightmare. I am going to go gluten free and see what happens.
That’s how Kellogg’s. Pushed cereal nutrition. In sanatariums in the 100 years ago.
I lost almost 10 KGs in one month just because I stopped eating gluten.:)
They drank the kool-aid, Randy, they drank the kool-aid. Lol
Great book, l lost 1 stone, but l have a fungus infection, would that be because of the wheat or sugar l eat at Xmas 2019?
Don’t forget to treat leaky gut too when cutting out gluten it goes hand in hand.
I don’t care what anyone says or thinks, but this Dr. is spot on. When I stopped eating refined wheat, 20 lbs dropped of me within 8 weeks, WITHOUT EXERCISING.
Now, notice how we are not being told this in the mainstream news media. We’ve been told wheat is good, there is nothing wrong with it. We are even being told it is healthy, You see bread promoted everywhere. From butter croissants to whole grain bread and tortillas, it’s all very poisonous
Oh what horse shit, I eat white bread almost every day, and Im slim, I once had no fridge or freezer for a month, I lived off peanut butter and bread, and I lost weight.
Table sugar has a much higher glycemic load than oats, which have a low rating by the way..
Im thinking of stopping wheat, dairy and sugar. But I can’t stop eating rice, it’s very common food where I live
Don’t know what should I do
I’ve been off wheat for a week todaycutting off pastas and breads (which I eat every single day) and avoiding everything that has wheat in the ingredients.
I’m eating rice and potatoes in place of them, and my meals have become far more filling and spaced apart (because they aren’t as quick to make as the prior two are)
Besides feeling really hungry for the first 5 days, I feel really light and energetic and today I found myself getting mildly hungry at around 3 pmeven though I skipped breakfast.
I don’t have celiac disease, I just decided to do this to see if my body feels better and if I have any allergy to wheat.
It’s a lot easier than I thought it would be, I’m surprised by what the doctor is saying.
he is fat. let me see him without his lab coat or suit jacket. He is his own proof that what he is selling is not accurate. There are people with wheat allergies sure and cutting carbs by going gluten free will drop one a few pounds but so will dropping sugar or cutting fat out of your diet. All the benefits he sites about colustoral levels, bloody stools and so on can be maybe better achieved by dropping meat and dairy. But I know you don’t want ti hear that.
I have celiac dna, I was so sick for 10 years. I had nausea, gut pain, constipation, joint pain, a constant choked up feeling, and shortness of breath. The doctors said I did not have celiac disease, even though my mom and sister were celiacs the doctors said I wasn’t based solely one one blood test. My shortness of breath was the most concerning symptom with puffers being the solution. When I got my dna done and it said I have one of two variants of celiac disease I went gluten free, just to see. After 3 days gluten free I began to recover, all my symptoms vanished one by one. I’m in the best health I’ve been ever been and suffer very few issues. My most recent problems have stemmed from glucose-fructose. Glucose is made with wheat and barley and it seems to have replaced sugar in many products. I could go on all day about this disease, it’s awful to try and live in this society with celiac disease because gluten is in everything and people don’t believe how dreadful gluten is.
October 2019…. WHEW…. information that will change your life! I’m in!
He never talked about rice or Quinoa, why? Iheard those are safe grains for celiacs or gluten intolerant people
Sounds like this doctor has listened to dr Wallach who has preached this for 30 +years. Check out Youngevity if yous want no withdrawal to taking wheat out of diet. 90 for life.
Dr. Sebi’s been preaching the same thing in layman’s terms for since the 80’a ♂️
Can we consume Emmer wheat.. It is the ancient variety of wheat with less gluten
why there are more allergies now days in America they spray glyphosate – the active ingredient in Roundup on wheat. Farmers there often had trouble getting wheat and barley to dry evenly so they can start harvesting. So they came up with the idea to kill the crop (with glyphosate) one to two weeks before harvest to accelerate the drying down of the grain,” he said. One sample of Quaker Old Fashioned Oats measured at more than one part per million of glyphosate. This is still within safe levels deemed by the Environmental Protection Agency,
Is it the gluten OR the glyphosate they spray just before harvesting? OR both?
William is amazing! He is so right. I never noticed until reading his books, that after eating oatmeal for breakfast in the morning at 8, my stomach was growling like crazy at 930. I also noticed that my hands would swell up for about six to seven hours after eating oatmeal. I always assumed it was because I was typing at work lol. I started eating eggs in the morning, stomach doesnt growl until lunch, hands didnt swell, just insane!!!
I figured out that I have celiac disease. Now I am eating a gluten free diet. I can tell you why people are loosing weight…. gluten free food does not taste very good… its expensive… and the good stuff is hard to come by lol
I think whats bad for us is the gluten intolerant people.
White bread is the most important food of all time. Its the must have food in every house. Our grandparents who survived through two world wars by eating mostly bread, know better. Sientists are mostly telling you about the bad side. Ignore the scientists and live how your ancestors did.
WOW, Dr. Davis thank you so much for speaking the TRUTH! I was a follower of Dr. McDougall who promotes a diet of 70% starches (GRAINS) and NO meat, eggs, or dairy! It does NOT work, it causes sky high blood sugar spikes, weight gain and DIABETES! In his videos he totally DEMONIZES you, and your book, ignoring the facts about GRAINS! I hope this interview will be seen by those eating the average American diet, because the health care system is profiting tremendously from the the A.M.A s advise to eat more “HEALTHY WHOLE GRAINS” that we ignorantly bought into, but is in fact the CAUSE of most of our diseases! Especially DIABETES!
I am off all grains especially stupid American GMO for profit Wheat and my Nosal Turbinates Inflammation is gone, after 3 days.. and I suffered for ages.. three weeks all grain wheat gluten free. I don’t stink any more and feel amazing. More energy too, no bloating at all any more.. no more acne or folical Inflammation ether..
where can I get a healthy diet to follow so I & my family, can start to feel healthy? pls & thank you
I didn’t know the difference between hunger and wheat addiction until i stopped ingesting wheat.
Now i absolutely know the difference and losing weight isn’t an isssue, that and i feel amazing:)
He is so full of bullshit, snickers is better for you than gluten free muffin.
Psoriasis disappears within a few days? Disingenuous. Don’t give false hope. It takes way longer than that.
Thanks dr. William my intestine does not suffer anymore. Im feeling strong and I have no constipation any more. Wooow life is wonderful.
2 weeks gluten free = now i can shoot lasers from my eyes. looking forward to the next 2 weeks
Dr. Davis’s diet should be called “Grain-belly,” because it involves giving up all grains, not just wheat.
You really notice your finger nails growing twice as fast a month after stopping eating gluten wheat
of anything.
When you consider that man has been eating and subsisting on meat since the dawn of time it’s no wonder that vegetarians are falling off the wagon and going back to eating meat. The prairies just 200 years ago were thick with bison. Herds would cover 3 states. That’s what humans ate. Meat.
Buckwheat porridge made from buckwheat groats is great with Stevia and sea salt along with almond milk for breakfast. Soaks the groats 2 times in boiling water and leave overnight to soften and cuts the cooking time down to 15 mins and then blend just a tiny bit and add in almond milk, salt and Stevia. Buckwheat pasta is gluten free too!
I have epilepsy and Behcets. Both my neurologist and my rheumatologist said that there’s nothing that I can do good myself except take my drugs.

I’ve been gluten free just under a week and my brain fog is gone! My energy level is getting better as well. The withdraws are very real I am craving bread like a drug.
Cheerios is not Beta Glucan. It has beta Glucan in it. Good point.
Now, get motivated and
EAT YOUR VEGETABLES!
I ordered a genetic at home test for gluten sensitivity and when the results came back it showed I am extremely intolerant to the protein.. almost bordering on celiac. Yet when I told my primary care physician I felt horribly sick all the time, barely able to get out of bed and that I wanted a blood test/CBC, she hesitantly did so.. then told me I was fine except for an iron deficiency and moderately low white blood cell count. She always implied indirectly that my concerns were somehow invalid, making sarcastic remarks about my symptoms. It was clear to me that she took offense to my interest in my own health, she felt prideful and even angry about the research I had done. It is unbelievable how some doctors abuse trust in this way when patients put their lives in professional hands. It’s their job to take our health and wellbeing seriously, not dismiss it. Thank God for the MD’s out there who share the truth about the real cause of disease. I have been dealing with chronic fatigue, depression, ADD, sluggish blood flow my whole life. My vision kept getting worst and I gained weight. I got recurring, incredibly painful inflammation in my right eye that my opthemologist said was likely related to an autoimmune disorder. It wasn’t until recently when I developed an ear infection that I finally realized these are not just a coincidence. Luckily I went to a clinic and got antibiotics in time because if I had waited too long, it could have led to bacterial meningitis which is fatal or even permanent hearing loss. It’s scary but it was a wake up call for me.
There should be a saying: tell me what you eat and I will tell why you are sick.
Love the info. Paleo Living Should You Do The Paleo Diet? http://y2u.be/DQPnBVvnuak
Thank you so much for this information, this is monumental and life changing 100%. Thank you!!!
One (ignorant or uninformed) person says “wheat is good” and everyone else follows suit (without thinking)
He looks like a perfect asian De Niro, even the facial expressions
I stopped Saturday & sunday 27 28 april 2019 with eating bread. Pain disappeared from my stomach. My stomach feels good. Let me see how much weight I will lose within 1 month. I shall buy your book Dr Williams

Dr Oz says if you don’t have celiac you can eat gluten. I am calling Cleveland Clinic now because I want my 2 feet of intestines back. I am going back on gluten…after all its doctors orders! They told me I don’t have celiac disease and I’m supposedly allergic to everything except unprocessed meats. They lied to me obviously.
Gluten is great. I wish you people would just say grain or wheat free. Gluten by itself once separated from grains is a great ingredient. I eat keto, lost 50 pounds, while eating gluten in my keto cookies and keto bread. All the while gluten gets the blame for the Chaff parts of wheat. I get it if you have gluten sensitivity or worse. Otherwise the problems this guy goes on about is a symptom of the other parts of wheat and grains, not the gluten. Even when he is asked directly about pure gluten he still finds ways of slipping in Grains. If you listen to this guy, you will lose weight without question. Because he wants you to stop eating wheat and grains and sugar. Gluten all by itself is not the problem and still can be a good ingredient. He just goes on about cigarettes. If you are allergic to nuts, dont eat them because you will have bad symptoms. The rest of us dont have to stop eating them. Pay more attention to the Carbs. Gluten can be removed but they will leave all the wheat chaff in the food, then you think your good.

Autistic kids hAve lots of behaviour problems specially non verbal can’t say any thing. Please tell from your experience about gluten for such kids
Joy Vanderberg from Montvale thinks everyone should be gluten free because she’s a moron and can’t keep her fat face quiet for 2 minutes.
Personally, I’m on keto because my body doesn’t feel good on carbs. So, do what’s best for your body. Do what makes it feel good, eat what makes it feel good. By “good,” I mean healthy, as in optimal, functioning health. Personally, I can’t eat rice or potatoes or wheat because it makes me feel sluggish, and my joints end up hurting.
GLUTEN is for me a sensitivity..thankful it is NOT Celiac..but it has caused so many autoimmune issues..and majorly affected my liver… NOT WORTH EATING…so today am doing mainly PALEO (AIP)..NO GLUTEN! Dairy.. DO NOT NEED PILLS.. our food is killing us.. ONE HAS TO DO their research, as there are doctors such as this man and others who KNOW what we are talking about.
The thumbnail is making me crave a cream cheese bagel
Excelent explanation! Grain food of desperation! In fact grain is animal food not human food!
