I had a hard time with doing exercises laying on my side. My back always hurt afterwards. Thanks to this video I now know that I’m not doing it right and I now know what to do! Thanks!
A very basic, but not necessarily easy exercise that works the external (outwards) rotators of the hip joint and teaches you how to integrate this movement with a strong and stable pelvis and trunk. If you feel your hip flexors (front of hip muscles) kicking in too much try to rest the foot of your working leg on top of the other foot and lightly press down. Now do small movements of rotation trying to feel the muscles at the back of the joint workingright under your bum cheeks
The area around my tfl hurts when doing side planks. I hope if I incorporate gluteus medius-specific exercises my tfl will be less active as the gluteus medius gets stronger. Thanks especially for the tip regarding how to think or form a vision about the exercise because I don’t want these exercises (like side lying hip abduction too) to be another exercise mindlessly activating the tfl.
