As long as a person relives in his conscious and he does what is right in the eyes of the Lord, all of these words doesn’t matter anything. Explaining these things in our perspective is nothing as they fall far beyond the horizons of this world and our thinking.
Hmmmm:) Please go to this short web page: http://balancedrock.org/the-meaning-of-aum/
The most detailed explanation of Om (Aum) is from the Mandukya (mun-doo-kya) Upanishad. This is a good link to it, see below. Aum has nothing to do with the creation, preservation and destruction that you spoke about. Aum also has a fourth component as you will learn from the link, it is the eternal silence from which the first three stages arise. That is to hear what normally can not be heard. The ultimate vibration of the universe.

Significance of OM
Once upon a time there was a king, he then on a day passed a notice in his kingdom ordering that “any parent who is willing to send their children to king from this day onwards when he turns 12 and shall be returned to their parents when he turns 28 will be paid monthly rations”
The king then ordered his ministry that all the expenses these children needed must arranged by taxing the other parents who did not sent their children to the king.
He then ordered the yogi’s of his kingdom to take and teach these children the significance of OM by making them chanting OM for 12hrs a day and taught vedas for 6hrs.
Within 15 years over 3000 enlightened men and women were collected due to kings order.
Those 3000 became scholars poets craftsmen priests with highest knowledge and perfection than anyone in his or nearby kingdoms
The king was chandraguptha the place he collected these children was NALANDA which became world’s first University producing kalidasa(poet), aryabhatta(inventor of zero) many other great people
(1) Chant Aaaaa….and feel it for few moment…Try to identify where u feel the sensation……just above abdomen or slightly above
(2) Chant Oooo……Chest
(3) Mmmmm……..Mind
Now chant AUM together……Try to feel the vibration…….. it is rising from bottom to top……We have seven Chakras….. u may say along the spinal chord……the lower most is the only active Chakra…….The vibration is intended to activate all the subsequent upper Chakras……..Pl confirm these fact from else where also….I have seen many videos by Indian and as well as others but not all are teaching right thing…..I will also advise people to spend at least ten years with Meditation then teach about this…
EXCITING,EMOTIONAL,DEPICTING THE REAL ESSENCE..EXCELLENT..YOU ARE ENLIGHTENED..GRACEFUL AND I AM GRATEFUL TO THEE

You believe in The Creator of this universe! Then you associate false gods?! People don’t be misled by lies. These people take some truth and mix it with lies. There’s isOnly ONE SUPREME LORD Who hasn’t begotten a son nor a wife Who does not have any associate. ONE AND ONLY. Remember my words so in the day of judgment you say you never knew that.
what a powerful sound is that!!!!!!! omg… never heard this powerful before sadhguru does it
Thanks mam for the velueble explanation.Thank so muchGeetha….
Om is the symbol of the supreme Brahman from which trinities Brahma Vishnu and Siva exist and also this universe.
AUM has probably a thousand meanings. it depends on the context. I’ve talk to gurus, sadgurus, sanskrit teachers, yogis, and a vedic priest about AUM/OM. Many of these teachers gave me multiple meanings. This lady’s answer was good. However OM is the mysteries of mysteries. It is the cosmic answer. As one below put it, EVERYTHING.
AUM/OM is the seed of bliss to those who chant it. AUM/OM is probably the most certain path to opening the 3rd eye.
Respect AUM OM. LOVE IT. It is truly amazing.
OM is pronounced as AUM and it mainly consist of 4 syllables. A,U,M and silent syllable.
The first syllable A is pronounced as a prolonged ‘Awe’, U is pronounced as a sustained ‘Oo’ and M is recited as a prolonged ‘Mmm’. Finally, the silent syllable is nothing but a deep silence that extends to infinity. During the chant, different parts of our vocal box is activated creating a different part of the throat to vibrate. Overall, the syllables of AUM is said to embody the divine energy which we commonly refer to as Shakti.

To me, Om means the supreme absolute. To put it into words (if that is possible) I created a music video to describe it… VIEW HERE… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcwbN63jKic
Wonderful narration by Swamiji. He says-God is present with all his powers in His name. OM contains within all the mantras, sounds and vibrations of the Universe. So OM is the all powerful and the essence of all.
There is no more benefit in chanting “ohm” than there is in chanting “Eem” or “aaam”. Stop bluffing! Cyber Hindus will fall for all this irrational mumbo jumbo by fake gurus!
Swamiji beautifully explains all the ways in which one can chant the name of God. He describes the relevance of the cosmic sound OM and how it’s vibrations help us to focus the mind during sadhana. Swamiji also beautifully described how the Lord’s name is not different fro him. Loved the narration! Thank you, Swamiji.
Aum is Allahumma in Islam. A comes from AAH, U comes from Huu and M is said as Ma, so if you put it together you will have AahHuma, but in Islam we have Allahumma wich means O Allah in arabic., and Allahumma is the introduction of every supplication which is called in arabic a Dua. Aum is also seen as the introduction of the universe, the beginning of the universe.A is the birthplace of all mantra’s, the source. so Allah is the source and the beginning of everything. Aah has all qualities of light, becous ‘aah’ ‘om’ and ‘Hum’ are three in one ‘Aah’ and Aah is seed sound of crown chakra which is collection of all chakra’s. & in islam Allah has 100 qualities according to the Quraan. So Allah is the only God you need to worship, Shame on you people!
Pranam Guruji. Is failures a part in the spiritual path too. Sometimes we succumb to the temptations of overeating and overindulgence in pleasures despite being aware of the consequences. How to come out of it completely. Don’t want to succumb to the temptations in future. Radhey Radhey Govinda
Very enticing discourse from
Swami Mukundananda. What is God’s name? Why does God have a name? And how to chant God’s name from quietest levels to singing out loud. Please tell us more.
Thanks for sharing this treasure. May God bless us all
