Wow Jake, great video, a lot of thought went into it….thanks!
So happy you made this video. I was curious to what you wore for best support/comfort.
I am a female with a flat foot size Euro 36..I want to know which shoes is best for me for all HIIT and running
Yep… I still train in low top chucks when coaches aren’t around, that if I’m wearing shoes at all…
Im curious, have you ever heard or tried spartan by craft fuseknit x training shoe? Id love to here your thoughts or watch your review on these, iv searched and cant find any reviews.
The whole resume is Nano 9 are the best overall, I got like 9 different pairs of reebok, nike and puma for workout and crossfit, but for a strange reason, the ROS Workout TR 2.0 are the best for me, got 2 pairs of nano 9 and a pair of nano 8, they look great, the Ros feels confy.
What shoe do you suggest for my workout routine: jump rope, hiit, plyometrics, speed/agility training and occasional 30 minute jogs. Please help me out! Thanks!
On Amazon you can find much cheaper ones like this one: https://amzn.to/3bLOnWB thats my favorite pair of fitness shoes.
Hi Jake, Im thinking of getting the tribase reign 1 or the Metcon 4. Both are at a discounted price. Which one do think is the best pick?
the metcon is a training shoe and I am pretty sure that if you wear a running shoe for any standing weightlifting you could hurt yourself because your body is not aligned properly. Def better to not wear any shoes than wear the wrong shoe
Nobull’s are horrible for dead’s. Metcon 4 is best then nano 7. End of story
Hi nice video! I have a small question, I am about to start crossfit and I want to buy new shoes that go with training, what can you tell me about the Nike Retaliation TR 2? Will they serve me to start from 0? Thank you very much, greetings from Argentina!
Hey! Is Asics Kayano 26 Good for Cross fits as I hav flat feet thing, can I use them??
Great video Jake!
Which ones would you say are the best for HIIT though?
Very in-depth review. Appreciate it since I just ordered a pair of nano 9s on black friday
but if i dont have enough money and i need one shoe that only will provide me good running and squating
try working out in 5inc high heels now that be a work out yes
Thank you for the reviews. I think a nano 9 might be in my future!
Tons of great info! I like to keep a few different pair in rotation depending on the workout.
Looking for shoes for my group fitness classes. As an instructor I go through them so fast & am trying to find a pair that will hold up longer than 3 mo!
Jake: “I think every one of these shoes up here can work for cross-training workouts”
Adipowers in the background: “I think I might be in the wrong video”
Lovely vid Jake, I ve been looking for cf shoes for a while now. Saw the giveaway which led me to your video. I hope I will win the give away but if not (which will prob be the case) I will use your video to buy me a pair
You didn’t go over the Adidas powerlifters. Why were they on the rack? Lol
Nice review! Really enjoyed I personally love the newest nano’s
Nice vid Jake, so many choices but still rockin’ my Nano 8’s!! Support from Mexico
For me always Metcons! They’re always comfortable and last for a long time.
been looking for a pair of cross trainers for awhile now, thanks for the video!
Great video! Super helpful for people like me who train on a daily basis and want to have the best gear to support optimal training. Thanks for everything you do! #GreatContent
Awesome video! Thanks for the informative content as always!
Very helpful, and professional review. Made it a lot easier to choose my shoe!
Great review! Just wondering if you typically do any short runs (treadmill or outside) with these? And how you like them?
Sir please recommend me a shoe. Which one should I buy for heavy deadlifts, squats, snatch, clean and press.
MECTON 5 is #1
honorable mention is NANO 8 (even though it was released on 2018)
I can only but one shoe because I am a broke college student. I want all round shoe that I can wear day to day and to gym and basketball. I mostly do 5×5 workout never lift more than 150-180lbs for squats. I can spend up to $150 what should I get?
By the way love your videos have been following you for long time now.
I have an old pair of nano’s, I’m interested to compare them to the 9’s.
How is the no-bull high top durability? Shoe looks great but maybe not so sturdy. Either way, great vid!
What are the best shoes if i’m overweigh? I started crossfit two months ago and want to know if I should get more support shoes or if you would recommend to get one of these shoes and add different insoles? I know that the answer is going to be lose weight but I’m working on that so in the meantime, what would you recommend? Thanks
@Beverley: you might want to review Inov-8 F-Lite 235 v3 for a more balanced shoe for stability and agility… its seems to get better reviews in the Gym
Idk why i but i couldnt stand either one of them. Bad energy and shoe choices alike
Hi! I loved your video! I really wanted to buy the adidas edge bounce in my country but they don’t sell it here. Could you suggest a similar adidas shoe to the edge bounce? I need that type of shoe for hiit, jump rope and sometimes short runs/sprints. Many thanks!
On Amazon you can find much cheaper ones like this one: @t thats my favorite pair of fitness shoes.
Nano 7 way better than 8s for squats. But I’m guessing most people watching aren’t lifting more than 200lbs
Metcons are great for squats too!…..can u come to Nashville and help my go thru my shoes in my closet? Haha
I found these shoes on Nike app. They are $75. Not sure if I want to get this style or the Nike Metcon 3 for $120
I just wanna say.. thank you so much.. your videos helped me sooo much in my workouts journey.. i lost 33 Ib So far using your tips and exercises you suggest for fat loss ‘ thank you very much
Great review! Just wondering if you typically do any short runs (treadmill or outside) with these? And how you like them for running
May i ask what shoes would you guys recommend for someone like me who has flexible flat feet? My workouts vary from calisthenics/HIIT (Athlean-X: Max Shred Program) to conventional weight training with burst exercises. I notice that with the HIIT workouts i do now, i feel like i am prone to ankle pain due to jumping, squatting, and other exercises that are explosive in nature. Including squats.
My true fit would be a 10.5 but it’s not available online. I think I’ll go up to a size 11? Sometimes my sizes vary. Also how’s the width? How snug are they?
So glad you actually workout in them and uploaded. So many videos do not provide a proper in depth review such as this when it comes to workout kicks! Thank you.
something tells me you spend more time posting pics on instagram rather than working out when you’re at the gym
recently started working out and i find your videos really motivating so i just subscribed! ❤️
I don’t need women’s shoes, but I need this type of enthusiasm in my life. Subscribed!
Interesting we have the same feet similar i mean lol. Wide, when I put on narrow sneakers my feet just go bleehh to the side
After watching gym shoe videos for hours, I finally found you thank you so much. I am so excited to be 2 weeks into my fitness journey! I will be watching more of your content
Metcons are a CrossFit shoe. Funny because I hate the feel of them. I also have a high arch but my feet are more narrow so maybe that is why, but they rub weird on the back of my heel.
What would you recommend for boxing training?? This is rope jumping, running, heavy bag and others foot work exercises.
You should try the Reebok nano 8 it feels like a slipper as soon as you put it on avoid the Reebok nano 7 though it’s very stiff and takes forever to break in
Metcons are crossfit shoes! I can’t run in them… they are too flat
Jen can you do a ” Favorite Leggings review” Its so hard to find good workout leggings and i love all of the ones you use!
Metcons are training/lifting shoes. They are not for running.
Jen, I find the perfect ones for me, Jordan booties to play basketball.
Those are excellent for running, jumping, excellent traction to realize plyometrics, couching, Plus stylish.
Love them.
Thank you very much for all your videos;)
I bought shoe stretchers for my sneakers and use them for about 48-72 hours. I needed a shoe with a narrow heel and a wide toe box. Yes, I have duck feet…flat arches and all thanks to my 3 pregnancies. The shoe stretchers are amazing! Your fur babies are precious Jen
I’m a very small shoe size Im a size 3 in uk so find it hard to get good shoe by the brands Nb and karrimor works well with me
Can you please tell me what inserts you have? have high arches as well.
I invested in the inserts from the machine in walmart since I have RA in my left foot. After standing on it the machine registers your pressure and non pressure points. They’re worth every penny. I’m going to have to look into these Metcons.
Coolio. Agreed.
Metcon are the best.
I wear them almost exclusively as well.
But I do NOT ever run in these. I feel like they have to bounce and the sole is too flat.
Metcons are ANYTHING but a running shoe. They’re a trainer, plain and simple, but do NOT try to run in those bad boys
bought the metcon 4 XDs. How do you think they fair against the new balance minimus prevails?
Can I borrow the red ones, pleeeeeaaase!!!!
Or maybe even keep them?
Jen has my taste, colored mid soles. I can’t stand the asthetics of white around the sneakers, or cleaning them
Thank you for the review! The metcons have caught my eye but I have not splurged because of the price. Definitely interested in them now.
I used to only buy Nike’s because of my super narrow feet and super high arches. Then about a year or so ago I found a pair of Under Armours that are seriously the best I have ever had. But if I am running I must must must do a custom insert:(
I have one in black and red.. its super soft omg.. love it.worth the money and looks slim on my feet.
If you buy nike you have to buy sole inserts because nikes are very cheaply made. Worst shoes quality
I just bought a pair of Metcon 4 last week. I went for 1/2 size larger than usual but still find them a little tight in the toe area, mostly because of the hard material in the top. Any one who knows if they will get comfortable after a while or if I should size up?
I’ve been hearing lately about implants possibly causing lots of health issues. That your body is basically not used to having a foreign object in it & your immune system triggers a response, making you feel low energy, sick, have thyroid issue, etc. That freaks me out (since I am saving up for a breast lift/possible augmentation). Have you had any negative reactions thus far?
I love my Nike Metcons. I have low arch & wide feet. I had to break them in at first they hurt my feet but they are great now! I love Underarmour slingbacks (I think is the style) for running.
I have wide high arched feet too and my right foot always hurts 5min after I get on the treadmill.. Going to try those insoles.
Thank you for this infomation, I oftened wondered if shoes really matter in your workout. I like Nike, but I’m open to any brand that will feel good on my feet.
Awesome video.. Very informative!! Love your videos Jen
So I’ve got a bit of a question… so I’m 15 and on a budget I’m also planning on wrestling next year and am wondering what shoes would be best to train for wrestling
Can you do the same type of video but on leggings and shorts?
I love youuuu!!! In a good way!!!! You are like a playboy girl but with brain!!! hahahahhahahaha!!!!! You are funny, honest, nice, strong, daring like an amazon…and belive me…. yours excersises are great and originals!!! My body feel them! I wish you coud find peace in your heart and in your mind! kisses from Argentina!
P.D.: my shoes are decadent!!
The real question is how many pairs of shoes do you have? Can you beat 35?
My eighteen y.o dog friend is very sick right now so thank you for your energy and uploading today. I stare at my feet long enough to now know I need high arch supports… Maybe that revamp my dear old Vans. Best luck with moving to your new place, how exciting!!
Omg I missed seeing your face ! I have a lot of updates videos that I need to watch lol. I quit working out and gain a lot of weight and stop watching u for my motivation, that was a mistake. So now my cardio is going to go by fast, because I be watching ur videos !
I am also colour coordinating freak lol Long time ago(maybe 1 year ago) I remember seeing you wearing cool red high ankle sneaks. What was the name of those? If you still remember
When I didn’t realize that my feet had high arches, I suffered from pain after weight training especially after squats. I thought I was training wrong but with help lol I found out i was wearing the wrong type of shoe for my foot when training. Lol somethings you wish you knew to save you the trouble. So it’s good to know your foot. Good topic Jen:)
Awwww, beautiful dogs. It’s nice to see when people have good, lovable relationships with their pets…!
You Jen and your dogs
Politics aside (lol), Nike has always been my go to for my feet as well. But I was unimpressed and really disappointed in my NoBulls.
I am so glad you posted about metcon. I’ve been on the fence because they looked stiff. You changed my mind. Thank you!
I love you….but right now was not the time to do a video for Nike lol
hey great video i just wanted some help……… i bought a nike renew retylation tr i wore for a casual walk and my feets hurt a lot at the lateral side is it usual when trying out a trainer for the 1st few time or should i change my shoe…..and also i have a wider feet no is nike not my cup of tea?
Glad u shared! I need new shoes for when i come see u in NY. I’m still wearing my old nikes thats about 8 yrs old! I have such flat feet it so hard finding good workout shoes.
Yes!! Been needing a video like this thanks girl!! Totally love those purple leggings too
