I ate like pig and paid the price; hypertension, borderline diabetes, etc., on meds forever. I’ve been 40 lbs. overweight for years, which I considered normal. Stupid. Just over a week ago, I just got wise and cleaned out all the rice, potatoes, pasta, tonic water, sodas, cornbread (that hurt), hush puppies (ouch), Miller High Life (now we’re getting serious) and all that high carb crap, and listened to the good Dr. I dropped 8 lbs in the first week. It’s hard for an old dog to learn new ways, but this is not as hard as you think. Getting a stroke or losing a limb to diabetes is much harder, not only to you, but also the ones who care about you. Do this, now. Chances are your MD hasn’t told you about Keto. Forget them if they have not. Drug companies and many physicians want you to stay sick and make money off your symptoms. Believe it.
Instead of repeating content on same stuff like nuts over and over again, why don’t you choose the requested unspoken/deep topics like carbs, fat combo in a meal, carcinogenic chemicals obtained from frying food, precautions in a low-carb(not keto) diet etc.?

99.9% of Dr’s have No Clue about this! Macadamia Nuts having a protective benefit of the myelin sheath on nerves is Huge for 2 diseases.
1st is called RSD/CRPS. Inflammation is triggered by gleal cells that ultimately attack the nerve. Eventually people with this disease die of co-morbid conditions related to this disease.

I regularly measure my ketones in blood and blood sugar. I noticed that in the morning the ketone values are often very low (0.4 / 0.5). The GKI is therefore mostly at 8-10. So nothing with ketosis, at least after the measurements.
Although I did not eat anything with carbohydrates in the evening.
Have you noticed that or do I make a mistake in my diet? Should the ketone values be rather high early.

I just don’t get it. If almonds are on the naughty list, why do keto-preneurs push almonds as super keto friendly? Almonds, almond butter, almond milk, almond flour. Why not pecan nuts/butter/milk/flour or walnut nuts/butter/milk/flour at half the carbs of almonds?
So if we workout fasted and then break fast with keto coffee (2tbsp of fat, usually ghee and coconut oil), do we miss our chance for quicker protein synthesis or does it matter more that we get enough protein during the day/week?

I live in a rather underdeveloped country where not only do we not have much of the health foods you guys have, but they are very expensive ontop of that. Now.. our average salary is 400euro or 450$ and you can imagine that I or any other guy from my country can’t really afford the healthy fats. Hi, this comment isn’t to do with this particular upload, but I have watched many of your videos and have a few questions. Other people who see this please feel free to help educate me. Basically I believe intermittent fasting will suit my lifestyle more than the other ‘diets’ or ‘life styles’, I often workout in the morning with no food. I often don’t start eating until 12 sometimes it can even be 4pm. I try not to eat too late, as it’s uncomfortable for me. I have a good amount of muscle and strength and gymming in’t my issue. Food is! Like they say gym is like 20%, food is 80%. (I tried Keto and lose a little weight but I live in China and these foods are too expensive)

Monitoring sugar, does it mean I should be watching my natural sugars or refined sugars, because apps like fitness pal/ loseit don’t recognise a difference? I always hear “cut out sugars” does this mean fruit.
What kind of macro splits work well with intermittent fasting, higher fat or carbs? and can you make alterations for example I’m down 5grams of carbs can I add it to fat instead.

I love pecans, but unfortunately the omega 6 profile with them was a bit off, so left them off this video as a great fat source because of that. However, they’re easy to digest and still make my list of best nuts overall, just not my highest fat, lowest carb list.

Hello, I was looking through your videos trying to find one that might mention seeds and this was the closest I seem to have found so far.
I’ve been looking at flaxseed as an option to put in food as it has very high fat and fibre content, but apparently has at least some small amount of sugar per 100g (that’s what the nutrition facts come in for measurement.). I was wondering if you had an opinion on flaxseed or other seeds even as a way to boost your fat intake. Will that small amount of sugar kick you right out of ketosis?

What about the Omega 6 content of most nuts? (if I remember correctly macadamias were pretty low but most other were quite/really high)
One of the main reasons vegetable oils are bad is their very high Omega 6 content right?
Is there a difference if you get lots of Omega 6 from nuts rather than from vegetable oils? That could make sense since many/most vegetable oils are created in petrochemical baths, but what about the Omega 3/6 ratio even with “clean” Omega 6?:p
(I personally love almonds but that fear of Omega 6 keeps me from eating the whole pack so please alleviate my fears so I can eat them all ^_^)

The pecan nuts ranking high on the good list is good news. I planted a nut tree orchard 15 years ago: pecans and English walnuts, black walnuts to sell nuts /have survival food in “retirement years”. I will eat the squirrels that nut trees attract, but only a palmful of nuts.
Eating big fat macadamia nuts while I watch this. I no longer eat sugar, wheat, or dairy, so these are my treat, and I eat the entire bag (125 grams) sometimes!

I will eat shelled fresh raw “sunflower” seeds in order to get rid of sour stomach or mild heartburn. A little less than an ounce will do 90% of the time. For me, they act
very quickly. I don’t believe you mentioned sunflower seeds. I have found they must be raw.

Do you have a video about oxalates? I am an overeater of brussel sprouts, collards and almonds. I found myself in increased body pain that some suggested was related to oxalates imbalance. Also, too many almonds was a carb load., and possibly too much copper since growers spray copper as a fungicide (I think they still do).Would love to know more
Your videos are so well done!! Did you come to any conclusions after doing all these? I’ve definitely noticed that my blood sugar goes up with peanut butter so I just try to keep to 2 tablespoons max. But since I love peanut butter I’m still in denial. Any suggestions around eating peanut butter?

How about palm oil, i read its high in saturated fat but better than the hydrogenated stuff and vegetable oils. wondering i have a peanut butter organic but with palm oil, so smash or trash?
Pili nut is my favorite tons of these nuts from Philippines however the ones we have are coated with carmel or sugar I haven’t see any plain or salted pili around.

I have a question that’s not really related to the video but not sure where to ask it. I have high blood pressure and I’m taking medication for but everytime I go back to the doctor’s it’s still high. I’m going to have to do a physical for a job offer and I need to find a way to get it lower. Long term is obviously better but I also need something short term that can get me to pass the test. What can be done the day before and the day of the physical to get it lower?
