I’m glad that video is being addressed. I didn’t feel comfortable/disgareed with some of the things she said. ALA conversion, spinach for Calcium etc.
I take Methylcobalamin for my Chrohn’s.
I was taking cyan but it just wasn’t quite doing enoughthough I wasn’t really feeling sickso I decided to try methyl and I felt better nearly as soon as I started.
I ran out a week ago and couldn’t find any in the store of any kind, the vitamins were in no way stocked, didn’t really want to play drugstore roulette so I decided to order some online and hoping it will be here soon. I got two bottles for 20 dollars (methyl is for sure expensive!) and deals on sunscreen so I’m pretty psyched.
By now I would probably be flagging a bit as my little stores would be running dry off of supplementation of cyan; it’s clear to me that my intestines need to bit of help I get with methyl now, though I’m not deficient on consistent supplementation of the common kind but the low end of normal (which my last blood test showed) which is not comfortable for me knowing how low my absorption is and that it could be entirely comprimised at any time if I flare.
And how bad I feel and how bad my muscles hurt when I get low, I want to avoid that as much as possible. Its good that I feel better within days rather than weeks on methyl but it still sucks and reminds me of very bad times.
I learned that methyl isn’t spirulinaI was definitely suspicious of itand maybe I should try that from you so I have definitely got to thank you.
Do you have a suggestion for the best tasting lowest carb protein? Need low carb cuz I’m diabetic
Mts is kinda high
I watched this video a few days ago and wondered what you would say about the advice given. Never thought you would actually make a video! Thanks for your insight scientific, rational and informative as ever
you should become a dietitian! have you ever thought of becoming one?
I want to see a Non bias list… I understand the business but don’t mislead the ppl.
Axe and Sledge cookies and cream is a top one, that inactive ingredient label is impressive and my fun one is musclesport unicorn cookie shake.
Has Swayze ever called Fully Raw Kristina or Freelee the Banana Girl brainwashed?
My 2 favs from this week we’re definitely the Marsala Chicken and the low carb Shrimp & Grits! Highly recommend trying them out. Lmk which ones are your favs & I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy ❤️
I can agree with this list, although I’m not familiar with the #4 pick.
How did her whole following already forgive and forget her last 2 videos. Jeez, you guys blow.
I don’t usually comment on her makeup, but I am loving this whole look. Eye makeup giving me later ‘90’s vibes.
The best vegan goodful videos feature Tabitha Brown obviously.
Hmm, you did a lot of research for this video vs the last two dumpster fires.
People say vegans can find K2 in Natto. This is a reliable source? The only source of K2?
Not sure when this was filmed but it’s funny/odd talking about Ghost Whey and quality/manufacturing after they admitted there was a screw up in the first batch of Chips Ahoy.
Would love to see you do a video about the whole Jon Venus craziness. There are now two videos; no longer vegan and I’m going hunting. Really feel like he fell off the deep end.
that jake guy kinda sounds like Archer or Bob from bobs burgers lol
There is a scale which clarifies the different levels of food processing. It is called NOVA and it’s useful to distinguish what is minimally processed and what is ultra processed. The woman’s comment about the processing of tofu and tempeh is such a small detail. I feel as though it just complicates eating a wholesome vegan diet and makes it appear more complex than it really is.
that just shows again, just because you have a profession and an education, you are not necessarily good at what you do. It is always good to compare statements and to consult more than one opinion. But for her to spread even such ancient myths is just silly
I will never understand how people fall for the cows milk makes your bones leach calcium myth. A college intro physiology course is all you need to know about the carbonate buffer system. Believe it or not but your body regulates your blood ph by.. wait for it… just breathing. (And other kidney stuff too)
So you are really not going to address your faults in your previous videos because you definitely let your black subscribers down!
You really should just go ahead and become a dietitian or nutritionist with the amount of studies you read and how informed and logical you are lol
That MTS protein powder-red velvet cake is like crack! Took me awhile to get off that stuff it was so tasty!
I think it’s also important to address what she says round 5:24: “Plants give you just enough calcium.” The implication is that you can get all the calcium you need from plants alone. Even if that s not what she means it does give that sort of an impression. Even though leafy greens are high in calcium per gram and calorie, they are also very light and don’t have a lot of calories. So the actual amount you’d need to eat them every day is unrealistically high. Probably not impossible, but for most people unrealistic.
I’m probably the only one that enjoys watching both Freelee and Unnatural Vegan. They’re both passionate about animals and health. Although they don’t make the same claims, I don’t really mind. I actually eat quite differently from the both of them and I’ve been vegan for five years (and I was a vegetarian for five years before that). I so don’t care who’s right.
Did someone delete my comment? Why? My bag. Maybe the glitch was on my end.
–
Looking good. Nice to see you went low-carb. Nothing wrong with salt. In fact, you need more salt on low-carb.
–
Carnivores don’t need fiber. Fiber can cause constipation and flush nutrients.
–
I’m not going to watch your BLM videos. BLM is an international white government-backed company. And the so-called riots are a hoax. But the vegan religion is more popular among blacks than among so-called whites. So I do see the connection.
I feel like you have a debunk the so called benefits of hunting but I can’t find it now. Maybe it’s just here and there in other topics.
I just want to say i learnd about the mithy of calcium in milk from a quimico in my uni, since then i dont drink milk (that was my only reason to do it and actully i drink like 20ml in brekfast and dinner and when i drink chocomilk o eat cookies or bread). I got a year driking just water y juice and now i think i have a year drink almond milk bc i miss eat cereal xd.
That chicken looks amazing and those beyond burgers are so good
Technically, you can consider any cooked food minimally processed as well since you’re removing a lot of the water. The obsession with only eating whole food, and perpetuation of the myth that any inclusion of processed food at all leads to suboptimal health, is simply extremist, orthorexic, misinformed thinking. Sometimes processing foods can make them healthier, eg the polyphenols in olives actually becoming bioavailable in the pressed olive oil. Stating that a 100% “whole food” diet is automatically superior is simply not evidenced based.
I stay with the purest isolate protein since concentrate gives me the big fat dumps in the toilet
i just love how she can get away with making 2 videos showing and spreading incredible amounts of ignorance towards blm and black activism in general, and then she just makes a new unrelated video and everything is back to normal. where is the accountability? she caused real hurt to many of her fans and the vegan community at large, refuses to apologize and even insults the people who critiqued her, and then continues to get the same # of views and supportive comments on her following videos.
so many people complain about “cancel culture,” yet here we have a person whose career is entirely unaffected after being called out for her harmful behavior and refusing to change or even apologize. and beyond that, there are even people in this comment section defending her and insulting the few people who won’t or can’t just “let it go.” is this really the kind of community that we want to build?
I have never seen them before, but for me aswell that chanel just popped up out of nowhere was kind of confused.
Imitation meats are just junk food. If you’re a true vegan just eat your plants stop trying to make everything like a meat
Goodful has been popping up for me too! Which I find ironic since the only vegan channel I watch on a regular basis is you and that’s for intelligent commentary. I’m not vegan. I just like and respect intelligent people.
Wow, those dislikes! Does this dietitian have a considerable fanbase that came for UV or something? The title is a bit much for sure but the video itself was mild and reasonable…
Hey community,
so this is Kind of awkward, but I have Always wanted to make respond Videos or create Video essays. However something very simple is stopping me: I have no idea how to get Clips from other YouTube Videos, so you can respond to them in your own Video. If someone knows how to do that, I’d greatly appreciate your help.
The music that they played during the “milk causes bone fracture” bit gave me So Yummy vibes so, so much
okay but i would definitely consider tofu highly processed. That doesnt mean its unhealthy but…. come on. “Its basically just coagulated soy milk” yeah and soy milk is a processed food! thats not a dirty word. (I like tofu and eat it regularly, but yk. struck me as odd)
I’d love to see your take on these two buff dudes that did the 30 day vegan challenge. The channel is called ‘Buff Dudes’ if you’re interested. They kinda kill the “you can’t be vegan and expect to do well at the gym” myth. They also spoke rather positively about the diet. They also tried the carnivore diet and actually kind of hated it.

Personally, I was really disappointed with the cereal milk flavor of Ghost Whey & I just can’t risk wasting another two pound tub worth of funds to try some of their other flavor releases.
As Mike said: “They came out firing; guns a blazing” with that flavor but it left a horrible taste in my mouth (literally).
I love a good Trader Joe’s recipe!! I can’t find you on Instagram, do you have an account?
I imagine this comment will be deleted like the others, as it’s clear criticism ain’t your best friend – but just gotta say, especially in the wake of your previous videos re: your “views” on BLM: calling out an African American dietitian on Juneteenth isn’t good optics, UV. Seriously? What are you trying to do here? Why? OF ALL THE DIETITIANS to review for your latest vid: you choose to deconstruct the views of a black woman with the word “brainwashed” in the mix? Using her image in your thumbnail? Truly, in any other context divorced from the mess that just took place across your previous two videos, it wouldn’t have come off this weird. But now? You really couldn’t have waited, like, a month or two for this vid? Someone please explain to me what is happening here although the writing’s clearly on the wall (read: clickbait + fanning flames for views). In the end… and I’m sorry you can’t see this UV: but it all comes off tragically gross, disconnected, and cringe. Like you’re rubbing “something” in everyone’s face! We get that your white privilege tunnel vision disables you from recognizing the powerful, generative intersections between racial justice and veganism. Noted. And again, bye. But the not-so-covert decisions you make in this video of which I’ve listed herein absolutely must be called out.
That protein/bone myth is so dumb. If that were true it would apply to ANY type of protein and we would be better off not eating any protein at all, whether from plants or animals. But we know that’s BS cuz protein is essential.
Why are so many of you still subscribed to this arrogant woman?
“LMAO let’s pretend I’m not a racist and pls watch my new vid kthx”
Please check out ‘healthy Emmie’ no hate on her of course but I think some of her advice could attract the wrong audience, she is a nutritionist
If you want to listen to the experts the science find them but don’t listen to YouTube influencers.
Lol my boyfriends name is also Matt and he HATES onions as well so I feel your pain cause I gross him out as well for liking them
I love the Twix one. I guess I have a sweet tooth lol. This was the first protein I actually like and brought.
I have removed my support from this channel on patreon and would appreciate you removing my name from your credit slide in future videos. Thank you for helping me on my vegan journey.
Tofu is minimally processed? You have got to be kidding. The beans have to be soaked; then blended; then strained removing the okara; then cooked; then coagulated; then pressed, packed and shipped. It doesn’t get any more processed than that. “That is not what we mean by processed”? Processed means processed, otherwise the word loses its meaning. It’s all well and good to say it’s healthy, but minimally processed is just ridiculous. Tempeh is a whole food which is minimally processed. Tofu is not a whole food, which undergoes massive processing. Just for the record: I love tofu, and eat it just about every day
Is the labeling the parts of the video thing new? Or did I just notice it?
That PES Xmas flavor is LEGIT AF, their snickerdoodle is phenomenal too bruh! I love that consistency in their protein. I disagree with all the Ghost flavors being good, I hate that Chips Ahoy flavor (don’t you get the aftertaste???), their snickerdoodle is also good though
I follow a low carb diet, it makes me feel good. I want to go 100% plant based but I dont want to increase my carbs… any advice on how I could become a low carb vegan?
What do you guys think about Muscle Feast premium blend protein?
My 100% awesome vegan poke bowl: brown rice, gardein crabless crabcakes (Enriched with DHA/EPA), avocado, mango, cucumber, shredded carrot, a little bit of fresh onion, shredded nori if you like, and some spicy mayo (vegan mayo + sriracha).
`What a load of crap….TGS is the best.. I’m not a salesperson, just a user and it’s the best…
I like most of your videos, but of all the bad things and misinformation to go after, a vegan dietician who you mostly agree with seems a bit pointless and even harmful.
I feel like this was a bit of a reach in some of the critiques. Her statement about cows getting b12 from the grass made perfect sense to me. idk, maybe it’s just me
Ben, you’ve probably realized this by now but MTS Whey is a blend of WPC and WPI vs. you mentioning “there’s no isolate”.
Last I heard, it was 70% WPC80 & 30% WPI.
I’m happy you keep posting new videos. Imma save some for later cuz I’m busy
I detest onion… but I wish I loved it! It seems like it is in everything! I recently developed an allergy to fish which sucks because I love salmon and tuna… but now they make me barf.
For taste? Spartan Whey Cinna Crunch ( it IS cinnamon toast crunch ) or Jacked Apples. The blend of protein tastes excellent any mixes perfectly. Taste is unparalleled.
So after your last two videos where you clearly offended so many people who stand for BLM with your complete disregard for the movement(and rightfully so because you were SO ignorant and cruel about it) you decide to “critique” a black woman.
I love that you are on YouTube! I’m not a vegan but for a few years I been trying to make changes daily to become vegan and you are a great source to come too. Also very inspirational ❤️
I have a real bad reaction to anything containing soy. I have headaches and heartburn and fell unwell. I may be allergic. Will check with an allergist as soon as possible.
All white flour products have added b vitamins here in Australia. Not good for people with common MTHFR genetic mutations. Folic acid isn’t folate, it’s synthetic and can aggravate methylation problems in those cases. Yes it’s a myth that cow’s milk makes you excrete calcium, research has shown that. But the insulin like growth factor, protein size and other constituents are not good for many people.
Tempeh is good blended into things! Like dips or veggie patties/fritters. Not a fan of it in its natural state either. I’m not even vegan though.
Many people’s intrinsic factor in their GIT isn’t super reliable in this day and age to even absorb dietary b12 effectively, so to imply we can produce it in our guts in significant amounts from bacteria will be inaccurate for most people. Same goes for essential fatty acids, people’s ability to convert ALA to EPA/DHA is hiiiiighly variable. Some people still need supplementation especially if they have skin issues, are going through addiction recovery, mental health issues, pregnancy etc.
I’ve researched methyltetrahydrofolate and pyridoxine 5 phosphate a fair bit as I’m a nutritionist and had interest in mental health and methylation/MTHFR issues, but I don’t know much about methylcobalamin.. which I should because b12 is a huge factor in methylation but my assignments and reviews focused more on other activated b vitamins.
HUMANS CAN ONLY DIGEST SO MUCH FIBER!!! Processed foods save lives so stfu. I have to eat 3,000 cal to maintain my weight. (I’m a varsity xc runner my profile pic is old). When I tried to meet my needs with only Whole Foods, my GI system shut down
this isn’t related to the content of the video. however your hair looks really nice in this, it really suits you
Now would be the perfect time to promote healthy, smart, Black vegans and instead you decide to focus on a Black vegan who is problematic? This has to be a joke. Your entire channel screams “I don’t see color” right now.
I might just be really dumb but I can’t find the air fryer in your favourites list
Thank you for addressing these common myths, especially regarding calcium, B12 and omega 3. As a non-vegan who is sick of the pseudoscientific tactics of the vegan community, I have to say it’s very refreshing to see a video like this. I have a lot of respect for vegans like you who can acknowledge the truth and I think an honest approach like that is probably far better for the vegan movement overall.
OMG HEB!! I love HEB!! I live in Dallas now and all my life from childhood to college all I’ve know was HEB.. I miss HEB Houston
I picked up some new pea protein mock meats to try in the frozen section of our supermarket. Not seen them in the UK before. Looking forward to trying them. Also have beyond sausage for father’s day BBQ.
Is broccoli considered a leafy green? It’s flowers, not leaves?
I hate onion in any form (I can’t even stand the smell of it) and everything thinks I’m crazy lol
Hey Swayze,
I used to eat a pretty standard American diet, lots of animal products and even ate Paleo for a while, so even more meat. After seeing your channel and watching you for a while, I started cutting out meat. I’ve now been eating only fish and VERY occasional meat from my parents farm (I at least KNOW those animals are treated well since I’ve lived there) since December. I very rarely eat dairy or eggs and don’t use honey anymore. Thank you for opening my eyes to the ethics of meat and animal product consumption.
The original video was mostly good, but I definitely cringed during parts of it, like the calcium part. I think dietitians do get caught up in the hype of certain things, like methylcobalamin or DHA. Actually, that’s the bone I have to pick with this video. The IOM looked at omega 3 intake and concluded that 1.6g of ALA alone was adequate for adults. And there is a large lactovegetarian population in India that doesn’t get dietary DHA at all.
I had seen that lady’s clip and I had noticed most of the points that you brought up….I was surprised that she would even mention about the “animal proteins leach calcium from your bones” and “spinach is a good source of iron and calcium”, because both of those have been debunked a long time ago.
Good afternoon. Please click on the link in the description under the video. Have a nice day!
it’s extremely important to note here that not everybody can afford to take algae-derived omega 3 supplements. As a vegan myself, if I ever cannot afford algae oil and a doctor tells me that I need more omega-3s, I’ll probably just take fish oil. and if I can’t afford fish oil then i’d just eat fish. it’s justified to consume animal products if it is necessary for your own health and wellbeing
don’t know why its called eggroll in a bowl but it looks good!
Just subscribed love your videos! love these low carb recipes, thank you for sharing!! aslo do you have a link to your kim possible outfit? i actually dig it and want to buy the the whole outfit!
It’s so interesting to me that you include so many research sources for this video, and yet on the two separate videos where you gaslight black people and tell them that systemic racism doesn’t exist and then call them reverse racist for having black spaces… you have no actual sources and didn’t seem to do an ounce of research. Yeah… that absolutely tracks now. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised by now after your video where you basically advocated for Eugenics in relation to mentally disabled people Autistic People in particular without doing any research either. It’s obvious to me now that you really only care about white veganism and white activism. You say you’re not a racist, but… I have a hard time believing that.
Thanks, but I’m done being a subscriber now. Bye.
Where goes the additional calcium we pee out when we eat more protein cone from then? I’d tend to agree this isn’t as significant as sone tend to imply. Exercise efffects bone density more. But is myth too strong of a label to use here? One meta study doesn’t render all previous contradictory evidence mythology.
I just found your channel and have been binging all your videos. You’re one of my new faves!!!
Friendly reminder that black lives matter, saying this as a vegan, regardless of how much I’m apparently not suppose to care ✌️
To be fair, I don’t think bread or pasta is fortified everywhere in the world. It isn’t the standard in European countries e.g.
Quarantine vids are boring but this video was really interesting and enjoyable to watch. Thanks!
The B vitamin thing is technically correct. Not every refined grain product will be fortified. I agree with you on bread. Not so much on pasta since it varies.
I hope you have stock in Trader Joe’s, or they should at least be sponsoring your videos. thumbs up on the onion, especially on pizza. take care.
I just love micropure whey isolate from kaged muscle what do you think
after the last two vids it’s becoming clear how self righteous she is…
I often take methylcobalimin as I find it increases my energy levels more effectively after not having had it for a while. Cyanocobalimin doesn’t do that for me, which would signify to me that methyl-b12 is a more readily absorbed vitamin in my body
i can’t trust jake or nick’s taste buds. highly considering buying a container of the ghost though… and someone get nick a proper root beer float please
Jake, Pumpkin pie and banana cream pie both rock! Glad you came around with the pumpkin pie shake. Happy Thanksgiving!
