People in Jamaica have been eating (so called) superfoods all my life (some natives realized it but NOT everyone ). Coconut oil was used in; 1. Rice & Peas with coconut cream, seasoning & salted beef stock. 2. In Stewed Peas (red beans) & Rice dish, 3. Run Dung (mackerel in a seasoned coconut cream & oil reduction), 4. for tanning products, 4. hair &.skin oil, 5. for cooking & baking.
I recall the controversy in the US about ‘palm oils,’ of which coconut is a member, that it will cause I’ll health (during this time soy and corn products were being promoted in the US). The US transitioned from importing sugar cane (from the islands -> to corn sweeteners and the like, in 70% or more, of an assortment of drinks.
Today, I see LESS beet sugar in the stores.
SARDINES in the US, have become ‘skinless & boneless,’ it translates to LUNACY, we PAY for removal of skin (omega oil) & bones (60% of the protein). it’s not about health…why not?

Doesn’t specify wild caught salmon vs farmed raised. All teas should be organic otherwise, you’re drinking pesticides.
You also do not want to cook extra virgin olive oil because it will be carcinogenic. Olive oil should be used raw, as in dressings or poured over cooked foods.

Almonds do go bad. Have you never eaten a rotten nut?? It’s the worst.
The hub’s A1C was horrible this last appointment. He hates the amount of insulin he’s having to take on a daily basis. He’s also battling skin issues. Me? I’ve hit the 40+ “can’t drop the weight” issues! We’re active people….but obviously need help in the food intake department since all else has stalled. We had a local doctor tell us “plant based” diet is the way to go. So….we’re searching for info. This has been VERY helpful. Glad to have stumbled onto your channel. Currently, I’m in the process of changing my life do to a few health issues, & I’m not going to lie, it has been a bit of an overwhelming struggle of sorts lol. For a good portion of the earths populous that eat the equivalent of one small meal a day and are probably hungry enough to eat a the ass end of a raccoon worse than eating bad food is having no food at all. Kinda puts all this NA hyper focus on what we eat in perspective.

I can’t have green tea, I’m severely anemic and it keeps my body from being able to absorb iron well.

broccoli, blueberries ( all kinds of berries actually ), paprika, shiitake mushrooms, mandarins ( I eat them as tic tacs). Lemons, garlic, fish ( especially salmon, eel and sole), spirulina ( to spice up the water drinking game) spinach, oh tomatoes. Now that I think of it.. I actually can’t think of one healthy food that I despise

Do you sprout your nuts? Nuts are high in phytic acid. If you do not sprout (or germinate), they are not a healthy snack, as the phytic acid binds with calcium, magnesium, copper, zinc, and iron. That is why phytic acid is called an anti-nutrient (or an enzyme inhibitor). Salmon does NOT contain Vitamin C, but it does contain a daily dose of Vitamin D. Those vitamins are NOT even similar. Most berries are NOT in season in the spring.

) Oil Free Tali Sauce
(Good on Everything)
1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds
1 can chickpeas, drained
2 cups water
6 cloves garlic
3/4 cup Nooch (nutritional yeast)
1 tsp dry mustard powder
1/2 cup lemon juice
2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp curry powder
1/8 tsp cayenne ( optional)
1 teas salt
Blend thoroughly and enjoy! Will last several days in the fridge.
Pro tip: coconut oil is amazing for your hair and skin. It’s also a great makeup remover!

This is great, thanks! I just want to point out that lentils are legumes, not grains. That may be an important distinction if someone is trying to pair foods, for complete proteins. Lentils would actually need to be paired with grains, nuts, or seeds, in that case.
My favorite, of the 7, is probably nuts and seeds (especially as I’m trying to keep things low-carb), followed by cruciferous vegetables. You mentioned one of my favorite dishes, which is curried cauliflower.

2. When broccoli and greens are in season (I’m in Canada) I eat them

4. I don’t drink coffeeI don’t like the taste and it stains teeth
5. I will sometimes cook with coconut oil (it’s very strong tasting and sweet) but for the most part I use it as mouthwash to oil pull with lol it helps with bad breath because it’s anti-bacterial
6. AlmondsI eat them daily for a snack
7. SalmonI am pescatarian so I do enjoy salmon but only on special occasions because it’s expensive. On a regular basis I prefer sardines!

i agree with your foods but want to add that you may not eat a bunch of almonds they are healthy in a small portion (6-8 piece° each day but not if you eat a whole lot of them. And than salmon, i agree altough i am vegetarian that fish is a very healthy and good way to get your needs but salmon these days doestn contain very good stuff anymore as they are producing the fish. The fish that we find in the store is comercialy caught and farmed salmon is bad news. And the problem is, sticking to wild-caught salmon is easier said than done. Just to say, still thanks a lot for your videos!
This video was very informative! While we’re all sitting in the house, we always want to eat something,but due to the fact that we are deprived of movement, we can’t eat junk food. If we will only eat and do nothing-it will not lead to good. We need to take care of ourselves and our health,exercise as much as possible and eat right. Superfood is the best way to do it!
