RUNNING MOTIVATION: 3 Powerful Tips to Help You STAY MOTIVATED on Your Training Plan

Running on Monday also helps if you know you want to get in a certain number of runs during the week. By day one, you already have the first run under your belt. Feeling that sense of accomplishment so early in the week gives you a boost of motivation and confidence that you can take through the week. And Mondays can be stressful!
Motivation for any run. 1. Get competitive. Look for a bit of friendly competition, if that’s something you enjoy. Find a group of people to run with in order to keep 2. Reward yourself.
3. Lower your minimum time. 4. Maintain a healthy weight. 5. Get in a group groove. Some people hit the ground running (literally) and forget this simple step. Setting goals is a huge way for runners to stay motivated and on track.
Whether your focus is to improve your pace, distance or train for a race, when runners set goals motivation follows.Commit To A Running Group’s Weekly Run. Sometimes, we need outside factors to make us feel accountable.
Join a running group (or even a social group with a running problem!), commit to a weekly.Running motivation can come in different forms when the finish line isn’t in sight–new running shoes, a new training plan, or even joining a running club. But at its purest, motivation is the human desire to do something; unlocking that desire may be even more difficult than the task itself.
Remove another mental roadblock to running motivation by being prepared to run. Lay your running clothes out the night before. (Or wear them to bed, like some really early morning runners do!) That way, in the morning, you don’t really need running motivation to get started just put the clothes on and walk out the door.Whether you are running through your neighborhood alone or finishing a race with thousands of other people, envisioning the finish line can help motivate you to keep running. When running or training alone, designate a finish line for each run based on your distance goals.Seeing your friends run stats might be the push you need to stay in the game, especially when your motivation is lacking otherwise.
Virtual Races. In the past, virtual races have felt like an.Try to improve covering the same distance in less time. For example, set your workout to run for 30 minutes and see how much distance you can cover instead of running for four miles harder than you can safely run, suggests Figueroa.
The more you train, the easier your runs will become.By penciling in your run for a certain time, you arm yourself with the necessary energy to get through it. That said, adds Mintz, be prepared with a backup workout plan if something unexpected. If you find that running the same old path around your neighborhood, or simply running laps at the track, is killing your running motivation, then a change of scenery may be exactly what you need.
Hop in your car and drive to the local park. If you tend to run on a treadmill, travel outside for some fresh air. After some time, you can start lengthening the running sections and reducing the walking: begin by alternating between 2 minutes of jogging and 2 minutes of walking.
Increase your running intervals by one minute per workout until you can run the entire distance at a stretch without having to walk.Eat some chocolate, take a mint, or drink a cup of coffee. Here’s another quick way how you can increase your motivation when you need to – eat some chocolates, mints, or drink a cup of coffee. Take chocolate as an example, not only that it is delicious, it can also positively affect your brain. To improve your stride rate, you can run to a music mix at 180 bpm, invest in a metronome (musician’s timing device), or add the following drill to the beginning or end of your runs (it makes a.
In addition to striking high-power pose, you can focus on the position of your feet, smile more, align yourself better with your conversation partner, and lower your voice with deep breathing. 2. Tell yourself that you’re going to have a fresh start.

Speed sessions I love to run with others but long runs I defo use as a bit of ‘me’ time!
I have seen Bolt during my 5K marathon run. I must say that he is way more black, slimmer, powerful and energetic than shown in this video! He is a true inspiration for runner!
Hi could you guys tell me how you stay organised? I really want a journal or something I could use? I’m going back to normal after illness.

Hi could you guys tell me how you stay organised? I really want a journal or something I could use? I’m going back to normal after illness.
Didn’t feel like going running today but fuck if I’m not pumped right now… Thanks man!:)
I am 10 and my record for 100 meter sprint is 15 seconds and 37 mile seconds
If this gets a like i will head off into the rain for a dreaded run ♀️
Hey Flora, really great tips again and always enjoy your running vlogs too. It was a really nice mix:). I think for me unfortunately the stick rather than the carrot is more effective motivation so thinking about how I always wish I could go for a run when I was injured and how bad I’d feel if I did skip it. I found the boundary post on your insta too and I’m so sorry to hear you had those bad experiences at work. Like you said that’s not ok. Hope the time away from your phone is helping
you just me new direction to explore inside out omg.. i need to change my life
I’ve lost 2 stone (28 pounds) since lockdown, partly down to couch to 5k and dieting. I feel much fitter. Running gives me a healthy high. Love your channel.
I do da same stuff lol btw pray for me guys first race of da season feb 6th
Mate your an absolute legend you helped me get through lots of tough times and you have inspired me consistently.
I was about to skip my threshold run today. It’s 9:40pm and I told myself it’s too late but now I’m going to get out and get it done!!
When I woke up I couldn’t find my girlfriend………………………………Because I don’t have one.:3
I watch the Running Channel for motivation. You might have heard of it? This year, 100k subscribers! In fact, I want to see your YouTube button at the next Running Show.
Here in Guatemala we’ve been on almost complete lockdown since March. I came home from Philadelphia, where I can pretty much go out for a run any time, any where, to only being able to move around the perimeter of the (gated) property where I live. After two weeks of self-isolation in my room, I was pretty motivated to pick my running right back up but running in circles, without a destination/landscape to look forward to, quickly turned nightmarish.
I’ve only managed some sporadic 3-5 mile runs since then and have definitely felt the effects, not only physically but mentally and spiritually as well. Last week I was finally able to do a 6 mile run. It took a while to talk myself into it and even though it wasn’t exciting or beautiful, the act of running itself and the endorphin kick at the end had me the happiest I’ve been in a long time. Throughout these last couple of days, my motivation has been the promise of this feeling. No pressure, no distance goal, no keeping pace, simply running to feel my body moving, my mind at ease and that concluding joy. Changing my mindset from one of anger at the whole situation and jealousy toward those who are able to go out still, to one of gratitude for my health and the space that I do have, as well as acceptance, has also helped me a lot!
Lots of love from Guate and thank you for your hard work!
its inspired me so much! thank you ❤ love to listen this every morning:)
what I need to watch right now. Hope the photoshoot went well today ❤️
You sacmved my life before cross country and whenever I am nervous I will listen to your tracks THANKYOU so much

Always nice to see what guys like Bolt are doing for their workouts.
99% of the time I prefer to run alone. When it comes to race-day, I really enjoy the atmosphere with all my fellow runners. Race-day videos are my favorite type to make as it creates a memory of the experience, as well as helping runners who will run the race in the future.
I don’t know if you use an Apple Watch but the app Workoutdoors is amazing for trying new trails and routes. It leaves a breadcrumb trail for you on a map so you can retrace your steps if needed, but you can also import gpx files and then follow pre-explored hikes and runs.
Thank you for creating this. Your videos have inspired me to push myself past my limits and strive for success!! always learning, always improving, but doing so in a calm and collected manner
Going to bed in your running gear if you’re an early morning runner has worked for me in the past.
I’m 2 years old and I ran 100 meters in 1.27 seconds. Is that good?
Totally agree with the first one, I’ve been SO mcuh more motivated to run when I just decided that I wasn’t going to run for times/distances/paces anymore and Ive been far happier too times will come when Im not looking for them and if they dont, I also dont care anymore
Learning from the master. Show some love. https://youtu.be/l5XM-kag7Is
i am 13 years old and i run 12 sec on 100m without startingblocks, 10m/s headwind, a parachute, a sled with 50kg weights in and a sandbag over my shoulders. during the winter in snow to my knees. on mount everest. am i a good runner??
My name is Therese Michalak. Most of you are gonna scroll past this just because of the fact that it’s just like the other comments, but just give me a few seconds of your day to read this. Thanks for everything you’ve done! At the end of the day know that you really made positive impact for some of us. Respect!

The Master, planking has always given me back ache. I can easily do 100 sits with no trouble.
Personally I feel motivation is overrated. Motivation might light a fuse but motivation comes and goes. It is drive that keeps the engine rolling. If your driven you will make it happen.
Set a goal and have focus, whether it’s a couch to 5k to a 100 miler, when your in pain and your motivation has gone what is it that keeps you going. Its your drive and your focus.
Great video as usual
i am runner but my stamina is too low! how can i improve it?
Woo, a new one off Flora just what I needed Thanks Flora!
im 12 years old and in 200m i take 30 seconds to complete….*note the sarcasm*
You speak from the heart. Your every word is full of passion and love.
Thank you for having the courage to listen to yourself and God, for acting upon your dream with taking the risk of starting this channel. You did the right choise.
God bless you
Cheers James! Struggling getting out in a wet, windy Glaswegian morning. But forcing myself to get a session done.
Today there is sports day in my school and I have to ran 100m
I’m about to run a X-Country race in 2 days and this is getting me pumped. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I also didn’t know you did the music. Good job and keep on going!
I think your better than any cross country coach I’ve ever had
You’ve opened my mind. I hope you know, you’ve impacted my life by making this video and many others. I enjoy listening to them very much.
I found motivation and consistency very hard in my first two months of running but for me it was trying to compete in races that finally broke the cycle for me. I now run 120+ miles a month and am even looking forward to upping this next year in preparation for my first marathon
I’m 12 yrs old and run 5.5 in 40 yard dash is that good someone please reply
That is why I’m outside on a chilly day hearing this. (Getting that brown fat going.)
This video could also help you to encourage your running:) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7ZZfK9X70E
Thank you for motivating so many people on this planet .. I hope to help as many people with my YouTube channel one day ✌
I’ve been grinding woth videos like this that takes me ages yet nobody watches my videos. It makes me feel unwanted and upset. I don’t know what to do. I will keep pushing however, but it’s extremely frustrating. I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to read my comment.
“It is from chaos that order is born”
You just have a way of being impactful on people’s lives.
THANK YOU!
This isn’t just for runners, it’s for everyone who wants to get better each and every day
My life is now punctuated of your videos, every single day, made me become a better version of my self. Thanks you a lot.
A french fan
QUESTION OF THE DAY: Which do YOU prefer…? RUNNING WITH OTHERS vs RUNNING ALONE
I do trail running and it has been so tough this year. It seems that more and more people are on the trails at all hours now, so I find myself hoping for rain so it might keep people away for just a bit. That, the heat, cancellation of run groups and races, have really decreased my motivation and enjoyment. That said, I’m still so thankful to be healthy and able to get out in nature, so enough complaining from me!
Would hate to be Usain tho… to be a champ you have to train like one, I get winded very easily
I’m going for a sub 20 5k once parkrun comes back (I’ve already done a 19:58) and hopefully close to sub 19 by the end of the year.
This just shows you= body weight exercises can be done anywhere! Make your body your own gym!!
Ask yourself,
Do you want to be a Wolf or a Sheep?
Then take the necessary steps.
Thank you for reminding me that you can doing anything if you set your mind to it:)
Love you’re videos but most of all, I love the audios. I throw them in my headphones and listen while I workout.. nothing pumps me up more than you’re message.. for this I thank you. Keep them coming. Cheers!
I think if one depends on external factors for motivation to run then it can be problematic as those factors might change. For me the motivation comes from within…i.e. I love the very act of running. No other reason is needed. This just a humble personal opinion…not a comment on anyone else.
Hey man, just letting you know this compilation was integral to me running & completing this year’s 123rd Boston Marathon. I never ran a road race before, legit furthest I’ve ever run at one time was 3 miles for college baseball 13 years ago. I was asked before Christmas to run & knew it was a sign (check out my #running4recovery blog below & you’ll understand why I knew and why this was the most important part of my life up to this point https://www.jason-hyland.com/post/running4recovery )
I never knew you went to school up here or had any connection to Boston until you mentioned running around the Charles, and I knew that it’s no coincidence of that. I am coming up on 2 years in Recovery from addictions to alcohol & opiates and running this year’s Boston really was for all those still sick & suffering, showing them what’s possible, that there is ALWAYS HOPE! Thanks for being a big part of it even though you obvs had no clue. Keep up the great work and Ill keep listening NO MATTER WHAT! Sorry for the novel lol
So, I just went to my provincals for cross country… and downloaded running through hell… you don’t know how much I relate to your motivational videos… whenever I feel bad about my running abilities I listen to it… and I just want to thank you for making me feel unstoppable and making me a better person!!! Thank you
This is great for right before a race, but watching this right before an easy run makes you feel so anticlimactic, as you fumble around with thoughts of survival and life and death.
2.55 what is the name of the exercise that he uses with the barbell please someone
I will succeed, and many others will. But one thing i can be sure of is that your words will be one strong pillar the foundation of every castle to be built. Keep up the good work bro
Simply awe inspiring and masterpiece to be self driven & motivated
Im 15 with an 11.4 im a runningback in football so y dis just understand i work hard to and yes im white bc idc what u think black people are definitly faster most the time
I will need to listen to this everyday this week while running.
Thank you for the push!
I’m watching your videos for 3 months now. When I’ve began to watch them, I was an ingrained cigarette/pot smoker, giving up to his studies and to his general life, always complaining about his situation without even trying to fix it. Things were getting worse and worse until the moment I discovered your videos and compilations. Don’t know if it’s about your tone of voice, the fact you’re bringing a personal speech (and work), but I really feel like you’ve unlocked something inside me, gave me that energy, that confidence I needed to go through what was in front of me.
Today marks the accomplishment of my first month without smoking anything, and one week ago I bought my first pair of running shoes (with the money of smoking stuff I didn’t buy!!), and now, everyday I’m getting up early to run because that feels so great! That’s building my day, getting me in the perfect mindset to build something good with my life, and above all, makes me confident and happy:)
Could never thank you enough for inspiring and motivating me like you do, your work is currently having a huge positive impact on my existence, so I’m saying it again: THANK YOU!
(sorry if my grammar/vocab is a bit confused, I’m french)
I just found the channel. Great video thanks for the inspiration. I’m training for my first marathon this upcoming Feb and vlogging about it.
This is so helpful. I totally resonate with your feeling of putting off leaving the house and I feel like I get nervous before any run no matter how long, even if it’s just 3 miles. Which is confusing because I’ve done much longer races! But I’m glad I’m not alone in feeling this way!
This will be my new pump up playlist for the upcoming Track season. Thank you.
Anybody took the 1 mile run? Pretty tiring but apparently got 3rd place 7:56:38 I know pretty bad but, I outran the girls who mostly get to tag me first in Virus
I have found an awaken listening to these videos another spiritual awakening
All comments to this video.
I am 14 and I run 100m in 11 seconds. NO U DONT. IF U DID IT WOULD BE FROM TRAINING AND NOT FROM COMMENTING ON YOUTUBE.
I’m just binging these trying to work up the motivation to finally get out of bed and run
Why can you listen to this when u run deciding to run without earphones was a big step in my running journey! It lets you see and hear how beautiful the world is and there is nothing like listening to the birds chirp and heavy breathing
All of that is shit 80/20 rule(specificity) fucktaryds u gotta focus on the skill doing squats may help u run faster but the best way is just to practice the skil
This is an amazing video. I started running at the age of 42. Lost about 35 pounds overall. Running changed my life in all aspects. Feeling so great. So, recently, I have decided to make a motivational video too. Please watch and subscribe. Thanks @XQ4s

May god bless everyone and my heart to keep on going!❤️I’m the only one who can lead my heart and keep on going.Becoming better!❤️❤️i will challenge myself today and everyday!❤️
Badass!! My favorite video you have made in a long time man! Powerful。
99.9 percent of the comments here will be about 14 year olds saying they ran the 100 meters in less than 9.58 seconds…
Loved this video, thanks!! I struggled with joining strava… on one hand, the motivation and accountability would be great. On the other hand, I’m super competitive, even with myself, so I knew it would probably cause me to push too hard knowing people could see. Joined this week, and so far so good! On another note, just watched movie The Old Guard, and I thought “that’s Fian!”
Hi Eddie. “ The Existence Of The World Within “ So Profound. So Sacred, For Me the Catalyst To Our Legacy. Thanks. Go well.
Good video sir, enjoy Brighton next year.
I will be there too
Only just started running. Tried getting into it a while back but failed. I can’t give up this time. I’m no very good at the moment. Just got to keep trying! ♀️♀️♀️
Here’s where I get confused, I hear all sorts of videos like this talking about never taking shortcuts and always taking the hard route towards success. Most people don’t build their own house, hunt their own food, make their own clothes, etc. and those would be considered shortcuts. These shortcuts are taken so one can focus on their more important goals and give their 100% in their desired dream. For if we gave our 100% in every aspect of our lives, we would spread ourselves too thin and not get to the destination that we might set up for ourselves. So when I hear someone say to never take a shortcut and demonize that easy route, it seems to me like a blanket statement that either isn’t framed correctly or is just not seeing the whole picture. I’m all about giving your 100% and growing through suffering, i’m all about understanding how important the struggle is, but i have yet to understand if there is a difference between being optimal and taking a shortcut. Maybe i’m not approaching this correctly so please enlighten and challenge me as it is something i continue to reflect on when I listen to awesome motivational videos.
“Why you endure the depths of Hell twice just to be 5 Seconds faster” I felt that
I am going running after watching this it is 98 here in OKC I going to be warm
Hey I am really inspired by ur videos… I am also starting the new video channel….. Thank you…

I miss running whenever I want, i cannot run in my neighborhood it is too sketchy. So I try to run at Parks and running trails only
With work hours changing I struggle to join a normal run club. I joined Lonely Goat RC which is great for people who can’t get to a normal RC. It’s been great and how much people eat
This gave me chills. I am definitely sharing this. I would love to make videos like this, but how can I ever make anything this good?
I never used to listen to these types of videos or speeches then I started putting them on in the track and know I’m county champion motivation works I guess
Great vid again, loads of hints and tips….even the guilty looking pup taking a leak was interested
thnq once again… I was feeling low.n now m listening it again n studyin… u r awesome man…
Ten Thousand Hours and Running in the Rain are my favorite segments from this video, they are very well put
I pushed myself to run a mile in 9:36 thanks to this video, and that’s a huge milestone for me
While I’m listening to this I won’t stop running. I’ll keep going. Pushing. Talking about “running” seems pretty dumb but I ran for my uncle who passed away from a disease. It wasn’t a race but I ran and ran. and I finished second. Everyone one was confused and so was I. I felt like I did something for him. I ran around an entire lake, down a road, on the side of a highway. I ran out of water when I was so close to being to the end of the run. I could have stopped running. But I didn’t. I didn’t want to. These videos made that feel like something. While I was there doing that it didn’t seem like much. Now I can see, these videos help me a lot. Running doesn’t seem so silly when you are listening to this video. It seriously changed running completly. And not even just running. Life in general. Thank you keeping me seriously motivated and I feel very good right now
Your voice has been able to have an incredible & profound affect always.
This got me so immersed. When you said words like “don’t” or “can’t” I felt like I couldn’t do it, but when you started proclaiming that I could or that pain was temporary, I felt stronger and taller than before. You’re a fantastic motivational speaker.
Always remember sprinters are not bodybuilders they are atheletes who are also running

I just wanted to spread some positivity ❤️
Goku Runner here in the states just gave you a shoutout! He did a little video on female YouTube runners, because he’s always mentioning men.
Thank you, I’m grateful for this audio. Even though I’m taking action and training it’s always good to be reminded. It’ll make me push that much harder and I WILL beat me previous half marathon time. I WILL.
Great thoughts and greater the way you say them.
Really inspirational. Well done for this.
As a runner I find exactly those thoughts that I live every time I do the hard this and not the easy ones.
I FUCKING LOVE THIIIIIS! So Creative and Intense and REAL. Amazing content!
Needed this today! Spent all of my afternoon after work putting off my run and eventually didn’t end up going which is a recurring cycle. I am trying to get a sub 30 min 5k but keep struggling to actually get out for the running part . I have put my running outfit out and am going tomorrow morning BEFORE work to get it out of the way
I’ll try listening to this on my run by the American river tomorrow morning. Should be fun
Yeah on my original birthday day I started running out of my mom at 47 MPH finshed a marathon in 30m pretty much. Oh yeah and my 100m dash is 2.7 sec
This is the best motivational video i found in internet. I am listening this always while i am running or working. This is great thank you very much.
Great video that still looked quite a fast pace though..??
My brother ended up running a 3:56 mile after watching this video
Also.. I’m not even running right now, I’m just listening and I feel very inspired.
Thanks for these awesome videos! My half-marathon got pushed back to October. Really appreciate the motivation. Thank You!
My problem is that I actually don’t enjoy my run while I’m doing it. Ok I take that back a bit, I just haven’t found running any easier. It’s been 4 months and my time had improved loads (I go for a 2 mile run 3 times a week), but the run itself…I still hate. I feel unfit and knackered the whole time. BUT it’s massively improved my sleeping, my mental health and I’ve realized how important it is for me to get into better shape. But because I don’t feel the ‘omg I love running’ feeling yet, it really stops my motivation. I keep going because I’ve made a promise to myself for my health and I don’t want to let myself down. Am I the only one who still hate the actual running part but loves everything else ?!!?!
I sometimes wonder if i’m going to succeed. Thank you for reminding me to stick at it!
The dog’s nether regions are pixelated out while he’s having a wee
I already do a few on this list but I also like to watch YouTube videos (like this one can’t believe you didn’t mention that) to keep me motivated and reading running books about other peoples adventures in running. “Racing Dawn” by Dawn Lauti inspired me to run a half marathon each month for a year and, like Bon Jovi, I’m half way there.
Awesome, mate. It’s inspired for me. Thanks for sharing of this.
I was having an identity crisis. It’s cool, the monsters have been tamed. Thanks Man!!!
I know I wasn’t the only one who got goosebumps listening to this. Can’t wait to get back out there tomorrow to conquer the world with you guys. Let’s do it!!!!
I love running and I often listen to your running audios before I run. And I can agree, running is not comfortable, it’s painful. Sometimes, I don’t know why I wake up early to run, but I just do.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeX68nFkvm4&feature=youtu.be
I started running 1 month ago, thanks to this video. I didn’t know you before but you helped me a lot:) I’ve lost weight and I’m proud to run up thanks to you:)
Motivation ebbs and flows and comes from within. Discipline is what is required!
This is what I needed! I’ve been feeling so unmotivated lately but I’m going to get out and go for a run this morning. Side note – why does Fiann never look out of breath?!
You never realize how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have…

Actually, I’m not sure that proverb is true. the fastest lion won’t kill or eat all the gazelles slower than him. So it might be enough for the gazelle to outrun a couple of slower fellows.:)
Hi I’m 13 years old and my 100m record is 11.89seconds is it good?
Great video! As a Masters marathon runner, I’m preparing for a training cycle that will leave me ready to destroy my marathon PR once COVID19 is done. I appreciate the tips and inspiration you provide here. I’d love to get you opinion of my running videos as well. As a runner and fellow YouTuber, I know how much goes into these videos! Keep posting, I just subscribed!
Eddie, you are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am not a runner, but I use these videos while I commute to-and-from work by foot, bus, and train. I am approaching a crossroads in my life, and these motivational videos help me to keep focused. Thank you so much Your World Within, thank you for helping me to gain my focus and confidence back.
OH.MY.GOSH. YES to all of it Eddie!
Absolutely love this, it’s going on the running playlist for sure!thank you.
Thanks for the video and hints and tips. I’ve found motivation hard over our lock down period with nothng specific to train for so I found setting a run time with my running buddies to be the best way to get me out the door. I agree always remembering how well you’ll feel when the run is done is what helps me most getting out for a solo run and recently I’ve gone back to my list of running aims that I set for the year to help in getting me out the extra day or so I wanted to build into my running week. No doubt though it’s hard staying motivated!
Just turned 15 as a freshman, so is 12.50 a good time in the 100m or no? Any tips?
I love your compilations. I get inspired and reminded of the greatness within myself! Such a young, yet wise teacher! Thank you!
Thank you for making and sharing your motivational speeches. I listened to your voice while running and I kept running through pain and some tear drops. So many emotions rised in me pushing me over my personal limit a bit. Please continue.. you have greatness within you!
