Hi, i am really into marathon but i have lots of questions and thise are really important for my career. If you please reply me here so i explain to you my whole situation. And i will really appreciate.
Thanks
Saqib
Other ways of getting into the race? ‘Connections’? What!!!??!!!
“i actually got in through a connection” lol Its not about what you know, its about who you know 😉
What inspires me about you Nick is your forward thinking process and your plan to execute on it. Do you think being in the military helped bring that out of you or were always like that? Keep up the great work brother.
Sounds like a solid plan! Just make sure to lessen to your body.
Brisket tips:
275 on the traeger
Get the brisket as cold as possible without freezing before hand
Spray every 10 internal degrees after 150
Spray and wrap with PARCHMENT paper when internal temp hits 180
Pull off traeger when internal hits 200
Should only take about 4 hours, will have a deep dark ring, great bark, and be very moist.
Btw, butcher paper is parchment paper with a wax lining. Don’t put wax on your meat dog.
Awesome little talk guys. I just completed my first marathon last weekend, the hardest and the most hilly in my country i never even did a shorter race before(only trained for about a year aloooot). I got completely caught up with the crowd and top guys first 11km,doing 10k PR at almost 40min,then completely blew up and struggled hard with vert and the heat for the rest of the race yet i gritted to a 4.18h finish. One of the hardest but also gratifying things i did in my life! Will definitely do one again in the future, flatter one tho, ill sign for some half in between. Good luck to everyone training for their first! I also wanna thank your channel, got some stretch and strenght routines from you which i incorporated sucessfully in my training.
Priceless content, thank you very much. I’m gonna run my first Boston this year and this was very helpful to think about my race strategy.
Love this. Wish I’d seen you guys at the Expo! I was there on the Friday. That race was an experience indeed!
I was younger when this happened, I didnt realize what really happened, now that im older man, this is so sad. All of those poor people.
I ran Boston this year. Yes, yes, yes to this video. Thanks much!
Has anybody been using the garmin he uses? I’ve been doing indoor cycling and alot of people say the Garmin has a huge range for error (up to 20%) and just to get a heart rate monitor instead. Does anybody have experience with either the garmin or a HR monitor?
Would have been good if you had bib numbers so we could see how everyone went… maybe next time
As a preparation for my first marathon, I just read as well as followed this particular marathon training courses “Zοrοtοn Axy” (Google it). I was able to attain my target of a sub-4 hour marathon. I followed every little thing on this training plan and enabled me to race confidently to get through 26.2 miles. What a great feeling! Strongly recommended for the devoted runner..
Bro. You’re going to have to run way faster than sub 3 to get into Boston. They’ll take your application at dub 3, but they drop the standard every year. (Example this year is that the cutoff was 2:58:something). Don’t think 2:59:59 is going to get you in.
please i really want to know the intro music that u r using! it’s awesome
Run 7 marathons. had 6 Q times. Never did the race. had a break from running the last years. over 50 now this will be my goal.
Sage, what do you think about Buzzfeed’s marathon video where that girl trained 10 weeks for the LA marathon and qualified for Boston on her first go?
My wife ran her first marathon to check it off her bucket list. Ran less than 30 miles a week and beat the Boston qualifying time by almost 18 Mins. Not sure how she did it. It took me 3 tries and I nearly killed myself trying to do it.
That guy is really troubled to keep his face under control. Drunk or stoned?
How it’s feel that Syria and other countries suffering it daily
You might qualify and not get accepted to run the race. This is basically because the Boston Athletic Association would rather accept charity runners who could never qualify. It’s disgraceful to see the BAA turn what was once a road race into a walkathon and hypocritically allow these posers a way around the qualifying times. It was once a great race and always a great course.
How do first time runners get into the Boston Marathon for the first time?
I’m curious, is there any different of the Asian people with European people for set their personal best for BQ in the same training menu and in the same body condition?
Since I feel like the BQ are kind of impossible for myself as Asian people. I’m recrational runner for almost 3 years and my personal best for FM just under 5 hours:)
the longest run I ever did was 17miles buh my average is 10-15 miles.
But just imagine,
your standing there
you hear a explosion next to you and run away
but you don’t know that youre running into another bomb
That’s my big goal, to qualify for the Boston Marathon. I’ve got to witness it a year after the bombing and I got inspired to run more. I’ve done 2 half marathon so far and hope to do a full in April.
Love this, guys! Didn’t see this last year but just right for this year. Will you do an updated version for 2018?
Finally managed to BQ on my fifth marathon last October. I found that 40-50 miles per week was the right amount for me, though I cut back several weeks before the race, using another marathon six weeks prior as well as two half marathons four and two weeks prior as training runs. Didn’t do any other long runs during this time.
During the half marathon two weeks before the BQ marathon I PR’d with 1:27 on a very flat course that only had one noticeable hill. The marathon course was very hilly but I started off very conservatively, taking 1:36 to run the first half. Fortunately this set me up for an amazing second half, during which I never stopped speeding up, passing tons of runners in the process. Ran the second half in 1:32 for a 3:08 finish (was 33 at the time but will be 35 in 2017 so I was subject to the 3:10 qualifying standard).
I can’t speak for the elite runners because I’m so much slower than them but in my experience the majority of average talent runners who work hard like myself blow their chances by choosing a finish time that is too aggressive based on their current half marathon pace. I can’t speak for the faster sub 3:00 marathoners but for those in the low to mid 3:00 hour range I usually suggest taking your current half marathon time, multiplying that by two, and adding ten minutes to come up with a realistic marathon goal. Bottom line, if your qualifying standard is 3:10 then you’d better be running at least 1:30 in the half!
So you won’t run in the Boston Marathon until April 19, 2021, if you qualify & IF you get a spot. https://www.baa.org/races/boston-marathon/enter/registration Registration is now three-tiered. First tier are those that qualify 20 minutes faster than the minimum for their age group, then 2nd tier is for those who qualify 10 mins faster, the last tier is for those who qualify 5 mins faster for their age group.
i run 60 miles a week, i can run more but my easy tempo becomes really slow..like 70-80 second slower then mymarathon tempo per KM
This reminds me of a time me and my family planned to go on a restaurant for my sister’s birthday but we ended up not going
and i think it was 30 mins later we heard that on the street we were supposed to be going a group of terrorists had attacked a restaurant
Come say hi at bleacher bar after you finish! I’m the door guy! It’s right inside of fenway!
What do you think about Marathon Training advice that say long runs over 3 hrs do more harm than good, and there is little additional aerobic benefit running more than 3 hours. I am doing a marathon training plan with a max of a 16 mile long run every other week. It takes me about 3 hours to complete the run. Is there a benefit in doing an 18 or even a 20+ mile long run in practice about 6 weeks out?
The narrator must have gone to one hell of a creative writing class but he uses the word maximum a lot
Great training talk! Nice to hear about BQ even from an elite athlete.
I think a good training talk topic would be warmup routines for tempo or interval workout runs. Maybe even amount or length of time to spend based on intensity and weekly mileage base.
Thank you vey much Sage, very helpful! I have 10 years of running experience but have never run a marathon before, Now I am trying to qualify for Boston and do a sub 3 in my first marathon, working hard on that!:D
I just purchased the training plan for Boston. I am 40 minutes from my 4:10 target to qualify. I figure it will help me get closer to my goal. Thanks so much.
I never stretched, just hit the road and shredded the miles. Then I got the bright idea to race a marathon on a Sunday, run another marathon distance on thursday and then a half marathon distance on Sunday. And now here I am sitting here injured with hamstrings that the physical therapist described as “tight as a violin”. As soon as this is healed up (via stretching) I’ll be stretching the right way moving forward. At this point I’m just trying to get fixed up in time to make the ATX full. But I ain’t worried!
I am currently a cross country runner at 16 in my high school. I have am almost done with my marathon training for my first marathon in 6 weeks and hope to get sub 3:30. Is it plausible for me to run a 3:02 in a year if I keep my milage in the 40s during my XC season and 50-60s during my marathon training next year as well as get a sub 19 5k to get up my speed?
Awesome video man thanks for the great advice and motivation as usual. A future training talk good be about training in the winter (how to stay motivated? Should this be a base training phase? Utilization of the treadmill? etc.) Thanks and looking forward to future content!
Look forward to following your journey, Nick. In the several months I have been following you, I have learned so much and found so much motivation and inspiration in your videos. I sincerely thank you for that. I have no doubts and complete faith you will achieve your goal. Thanks as always for your service. Cheers, Scott
I definitely need to do better with my speed workouts! They scare the out of me!
Hey Sage if I ran my first marathon at a 3:31 but I want to run a 3 hour marathon by October, should I train while having that 3:31 as my time to refer to when trying to figure out pace or should I use the 3 hour pace?
Thank you!
As always a nice vid, but as always i am confused about pace times per mile. Please add kilometers as well, thanks;)
this was exactly what I was looking for run a 130 half. tried the LA full last year and broke down at the 20 mile. ended up with a 4 hr finish. gonna try again in Feb. I will incorporate this into my workout thanks sage
+Vo2maxProductions how many easy long distance runs you run a week? What is your shortest run a week…like do you ever run like 5 miles any?
Geez look at his ripped clothing and blood coming from his mouth. 1:32
The year before I was standing where the second bomb went off, the year this happened I was 2 miles away. It was nerve-racking when I learned what happened. I was 10.
Hey sage best hoka shoes for track sessions like 10k total probaly 1km repeats. Whats best shoe what do you use
Thanks for the training talk Sage. Running the Boston is a personal goal of mine.
Hey Sage, just wondering have you ever thought about climbing Mount Everest?
I say check out the course yourself. Actually get out there so you can psych yourself out. I ran a 5K but ran 5 min. slower bec I never looked at the course. The course ended up being three 80° hills! Many people wearing Nike Next% DNF the course. I ran with my cheapo Saucony & still finished. It was also ran at 2pm (very hot 90°F weather)
How close to the standard do you need to be before making a serious run at a BQ?
Great one bro.i need some help, may I know your contact info plz
Awesome video..training daily to get my qualifying time..first attempt second marathon..
Great advice on drafting. I’m the legs of a wheelchair duo team, and I’ll tell runners that we pass on the course to get behind us, as we are a great wind block.
Good advice! Let me add a 6th consider running your marathon at an age-break point. This year, at age 59 I ran two marathons. I ran the fast-course NJ marathon in the spring at a 3:34 time which was a 2020 BQ (age 60 qualifier is 3:50). Then in October, in Dublin, I ran a 3:30, which should be a comfortable BQ for 2021.
Have a question or several questions. This is the first video of yours I’ve watched. I noticed you mentioned an Iron Man. Not sure what all of your training looks like, but do you also lift weights?
I recently started training for an Iron Man and am also lifting so that I don’t lose muscle mass and eating enough to maintain/gain weight still.
If this also applies to you, here are my questions;
What does your training schedule look like?
What type of activities do you do other than swimming, cycling, and running?
Do you have any advice when it comes to calorie intake with the amount of endurance exercise you do?
Thank you in advance,
Zachary Floyd
Hi Sage, what percentage of total millage should my speed workouts be? Was reading in a book by james fix he recommends 5%. I feel for myself it should be more than that. Training specifically for half-marathons at the moment.
It’s an extremely challenging goal. You have to loose serious weight, gain a lot of speed and improve your technique.
Dont roll the ITB!! Typically ITB issues are (especially in high volume runners) are actually caused by a tight TFL in your hip. Hitting that with a theragun or a lax ball will do you good, it WILL not feel comfortable when you’re on your TFL but it will work wonders.
Man I nearly puked when I saw you put that big lump of fat in your mouth
World’s Toughest Mudder 2020 is in Dallas… Maybe after Austin?
really an inspiration for experimenting with the limits of one’s performance. As always, love your videos.
Nick, on Mondays(which is your rest day), is that also your cheat meal day?
Nothing like running talk and smoking talk all in one location!!
i was in 6 years old i Roxbury when this happened
BOSTON STRONG
I full heartedly think you could pull this off dude. Your a fricken beast. Just keep in mind not all people who qualify for Boston are allowed to register. In fact last year they turned away over 7000 people who had qualified. Your time to qualify is 3 hrs but if you actually want to lock in your spot you need to come in at least 4-5 mins faster then that. Google Boston marathon qualifying times. There are a bunch of articles about this. You don’t want to put all that effort in and qualify only to have the Boston marathon say it’s a no go. Just a little tip to keep in mind bro. Anyways pumped to watch your journey. The Ironman pre series was the tits. Very very well done.
I think this marathon goal is going to be harder than the Ironman!
How do you maintain so much mass with this much endurance training? I started training for a half (finished my first one in 1’45” what up!) and now I’m training for a full, but the problem is I have been losing mass the whole time. I retested my one reps two weeks ago after a summer of endurance training and my one rep squat is down 10% and the same for my one rep bench and dead lift.
I’m really enjoying training for half marathons right now and thinking about doing a full at some point in my life. I’d like to know more about the nutritionals that you bring with you on runs. Since I don’t go as far as a marathoner, I’ve never trained with them, but am interested in learning more about them and how they improve performance.
Tie your shoes differently please… double bunny-ears is so ‘95
You are the best running coach on Youtube. Only been running for 8 months and thanks to you, I completed a half marathon. Keep it up man
Thanks for inspiration! Just signed up for the Austin marathon
Rolling your IT band wont help you at all, focus on stretching the tensor fascia latae instead! Just a tip
The IT band does not have conractile elemements; therefore it cannot become “tight”. The IT band is often unjustly blamed for many injuries and issues. Most of the time, it’s the muscles surrounding the IT band, rather than the IT band itself, that is actually tight. Muscles such as the large gluteal muscle group and the TFL. If these muscles become tight, and this can be due to many different reasons, they will pull on the IT band, making it seem like it is tight. Foam rolling the crap out of your ITB can just make the problem worse.
that one killer queen requiem that does bites the dust on a crowd of people after they kill fv
I qualified for the Boston Marathon today, met jeff Galloway got him to sign my book & he talked to me for an hour about long runs. after using your plan last year I made a 16 min. PR, this March I made a 19 min. PR. thanks Sage and Sandi! I used the old training plan y’all had; it went up to 75 miles a week I think. Was close, but now I’ll train for a nice sub. 3! Thank you for the videos.
He is running his easy runs way too fast. No way he is gonna run sub 3 in 3 months…
running under 3h a marathon in your state sounds almost impossible. still wish you all the best and good luck.
Bro get you a brisket knife

Get on strava Señor, great way to track your progress and have folks follow along.
I’m sitting in the hotel, leaving for basic training in the morning. Gonna miss the videos these next few months. Keep it up Nick!
I don’t mean to be a doubter and detractor but I don’t know how long he took off but it probably wasn’t enough. Likely going to get an injury.
Why train for something you clearly developed your body not perform well at? Getting viewership is not worth the injury risk. A sub 3hr Boston may take 2-3 years of hard training to accomplish for someone your size and age. The amount of training will reduce your weight to 160s easy. Anything more you will be a slog
Sage, what are the odds we see you winning Boston? that is if you are running? good luck if so!
Are you mixing in treadmill running as well or do you plan to do all outdoor road miles?
That’s definitely a big step up in mileage.
Wow that’s real tough goal but that’s not stopping you from going for it! That’s the real takeaway for me keep doing ya thing man and good luck!
Goodluck man! you’re a huge inspiration!
I have a channel on running too if you wanna check it out!:)
If you guys want to learn more about what happened watch the movie ‘patrons day’ i
I’m doing Boston 2020. Hope it’s going to be great, good luck to you
Good luck with qualifying for Boston! And curious what you will say about your first marathon-pace workout… Huge respect for your attitude!!
I found your video really informative… thank you. I’m wondering if your training plan includes a heart rate component? Thank you for your time.
If I lived in Austin I would definitely run with Rogue Running and have Chris McClung be my coach. https://www.roguerunning.com/
Nick, have you considered talking to a run coach like you did for ironman prep. That volume is crazy, goodluck bro
Please talk about your stretching/ recovery next video, I’m really intrigued with what you do recovery wise
hmmm, dunno if I’d be foam rolling my itb. For prevention, the best advice would be:
1. analyse your gait, you might need insoles to correct a gait issue
2. flexibility, do stretches that target the itb
3. strengthen leg muscles, using a resistance band do “clamshells” and side leg raises to strengthen the hips
Yo what watch do you use? Planning to attend my first marathon in Dec thanks for the motivation too I weight over little 200lb
Yo what watch do you use? Planning to attend my first marathon in Dec thanks for the motivation too I weight over little 200lb
Get on Strava!! We would all love to connect with your training there
Be nice if you put your stats on strava so we can follow you? I have looked you have a strava account
I’ll be excited to see more content come out when your videographer gets there!
Thanks for sharing! Again an intriguing challenge, but more difficult than the journey to IM.It is going to be very, very tough 14 weeks to achieve the <3! The challenges are IMHO:increasing the VOmax to be able to keep up a sustainable fast paceavoiding injuries of joints, ligaments and tendons or other sickness due to the hard but unavoidable 6 day/week run Trainingintaking enough calories before the glycogen reserves are depleted at marathon pace. MT pace is much faster than IM running pace which means that there is less blood in the stomach to help digest nutrition.matching top running fitness with the race day to achieve a PBTo help calculate the energy demand, it might be helpful to use the Stryd pod. It is a power meter for runners to be attached to the shoes and provides power data (watts) and precise pacing data independent of GPS signal variations.
I feel like after completing a damn Triathlon, qualifying for a marathon isnt going to be that hard
Do you train any traction exercises, because running is a loading exercise?
Curious, Have you ever tried plant based diet?
When i did my running improved insanly. I love meat don’t get me wrong but just all that extra free push when doing something cardio based workout is so motivating!
HR training is a good tool but you gotta be careful because you can’t completely rely on it because it can vary so much for different reasons
straight from iron man into the marathon, Nicks gonna be 165lbs soon lol
Yo what watch do you use? Planning to attend my first marathon in Dec thanks for the motivation too I weight over little 200lb
I just recently ran the Army 10 miler, I had the same pain as you in the IT band but it progressively got worse. I eventually got it looked at and hand a tear in my IT band
pro life tip: run into the explosion bc it is rare for 2 bombs together
Your definitely capable of running a BQ, but not in 4 weeks. You’re going to injure yourself if you do any marathon paced workout (8-16 miles at marathon pace). You’re also super heavy to be running that fast for that long, it’s possible to do but you’ll need to allow yourself more than 4 weeks. Regardless you’re going to try anyways I’m sure so I’ll be interested in seeing this through. I hope you surprise me and you end up running the BQ, a lot of people would be very impressed, good luck! And don’t be afraid to reach out to an actual coach, they’ll be able to talk more of the specifics
Whoa. You were talking about doing at least a significant portion of long runs within 30-40 seconds of your goal race pace. I’ve been doing long runs MUCH slower than that thinking they were supposed to be 100% aerobic. I typically average about 70-73% of my maximum heart rate for these runs. Should I be going faster??
Great choice in following Pfitzinger’s plan. His book (Advanced Marathoning) changed my whole approach to marathon training. Also, I agree about Feetures by far the best running sock I’ve tried (get the max cushion version if you like a soft feel). Balega makes goods socks, too.
What can anyone do if a cult declares every nonadherent individual as infidels and take up the task of punishing them as their life mission?
I am thinking about doing a 5k. Wanted to know what would be a good speed to start off at on my treadmill at home?
Good video a lot of talking but can you please tell me the main point, what is the qualifying time please?
Been a follower for awhile and love your content. I would just be careful with the training. Being a bigger runner myself with a BQ, I’ve been injured from ramping up my training to 60 miles a week without a good base. You might feel great running 50-60 miles a week for a few weeks, but keep in mind injury can always strike. Maybe work your mileage up rather than start at a high level. Just a thought.
You should look into getting a stryd Power meter for your running training
Loved Char’s quote from Bobbi Gibb at the end. “I ran the Boston Marathon out of love. I believe that love is the basis of all meaningful human endeavor. Yet it was a love that was incomplete until it was shared with others.”
Nick…I think you are awesome and tough as hell. I really do. I don’t doubt your ability for a second, however, I have been around weightlifting and running my entire life. I have completed several ultra-marathons and am an avid weightlifter. The only way you are going to qualify for Boston, based on your body type and previous marathon times, is to lose weight (a lot of it) or use EPO. I don’t see any other way. I think you can definitely PR though. Good luck!
Sage, how come you haven’t tried to OTQ with a half marathon?
Great videos on your channel just subscribed really interesting re Boston tks
You might qualify and not get accepted to run the race. This is basically because the Boston Athletic Association would rather accept charity runners who could never qualify. It’s disgraceful to see the BAA turn what was once a road race into a walkathon and hypocritically allow these posers a way around the qualifying times. It was once a great race and always a great course.
I’ve been running for 2 years now and finally enrolled to run the Chicago Marathon! I never feel like I’m good enough but one day I would love to qualify for Boston! At least that’s the dream!
Great advice, Sage. It’s one of the best summaries i’ve heard for a good marathon training plan.
I thought I did everything right in Boston in terms of pacing, still the downhill at mile 15-16 totally killed my quads..
I know people who ran marathons and no you are wrong. You only have to train for the 26.2, not 27.2 miles you mentioned. If u havent run before, I would keep your comments that are negative on the downlow. You marathoner NOT
Fast marathon is the Erie,PA marathon. Highly recommended and incredibly well put together. Capped at 2500 runners and the last marathon to BQ at before Boston opens up mid September. On average approx 45% BQ. Last year close to 65%
The world is terrible even know I am making this comment after seven years but it has gotten worse
lol……………… its true, when you’re old there’s no getting better from that.
I feel sad for those people but in my country explosions happen on a day to day basis the most was 4 right in front of me
I’m running a 5 mile race on August 11
It’s July 17 rn
I ran for 3 miles and got a 8:30 mins per mile
Do you think I can decrease my pace down to 8:00?
I think I will have an even better pace while running from all the adrenaline and cheers from the crowd
Those druggies got what they deserved, a one way ticket to hell itself
Imagine what war is like then where there are explosions nonstop
An average of 7 minutes per mile to qualify? Wow. So you have to run it twice? once to qualify and then the actual race?
Why would people do this, what could they possibly have to gain from this?
I saw it from Patriots day on Netflix and had to research about this. This rlly scared me
What a tragedy. RIP to those who lost their lives and my thoughts to those who were injured either mentally or physically.
Thank you so much for publishing this video! My story is similar to yours. I’ve been running short distances quasi regularly for 20 years, but never anything committed or serious. 1.5 years ago I did my first speed camp and began running with a group of competitive females in my age group I’m 42. These ladies have run several marathons and ultras and are multi-time Boston qualifiers. I have never run a marathon, but decided this year to try and qualify for Boston for 2020. I did my 2nd speed camp this past June, and started ramping up my commitment. In December about 20 weeks out from our April 27 Kentucky Derby Marathon I decided to train and try to qualify for Boston with this race. Again, April 27 will by my first marathon ever. I’m following Hanson’s method and read the book. I’m in week 5 of training now. I was really wondering if anyone else had ever tried to qualify for Boston on their very first marathon or if that was just irresponsible / crazy. Your video inspired me and made me feel as if maybe my goal wasn’t so crazy after all.: )
Watching the movie of Mark Wahlberg I’m remembering this sad day
I clicked on this video caring about the marathon prep… until I saw the brisket
Anyone else come here after watching the movie patriots day?
All these people in the comments are fake AF stop pretending like you feel bad or like you have the right to call other people horrific. People are so dramatic and act like they actually went through something like this so don’t act like you know what it’s like to be bombed when in reality you’re just trying to get likes on your comment. Unless you’ve been there just shut up. People in the comments are more dramatic than the actual victims which speaks volumes
The way the president spoke though. Trump couldn’t carry Mr. Obama’s jockstrap. I hear it’s pretty big.
Ieri i terroristi erano stranieri, oggi i terroristi sono gli stessi Americani.
Okay but they were gonna bomb Times Square in New York. I CANNOT, that would’ve been crazyyyy. Upsetting
What areas did you target with the Theragun to help you IT Band issues?
Can’t recommend getting a full gait analysis enough! Lingering pain is often a sign or poor running mechanics. A gait analysis will help improve your efficiency, and help with the increased load.
Obama tho any people or group responsible will feel the full weight of justice, okay okay i like that
Imagine sitting there having no idea your right next to a bomb.
Anyone that calls something “messed up” from that point on in conversation they are considered children.
honestly its really smart, the people would be exhausted cause theyre at the finish line and unable to run away
Why don’t we pray for Tsarnaev Dzhokhar. He was worse than these people, when he stood up from the boat. Ad I don’t get why people say it’s better for him to die, than suffer in prison. Cause if any dumb prisoner dared to fight him. He would have beaten them up, for he was a pro wrestler.
I came back here i already watch patroits day it came out on Netflix today and it was good and also really sad yall should really watch it rip to the people who lost their lives
Sitting here….chilly in WA State..Your sweatshirt looks very warm! Might have to check em out. Lewis Donovan-As many Hokas as I have…go with Cliftons…if you feet are not Wide…they are great..like running on marshMELLOWS!
Can you show us more of your recovery/injury prevention process? Would help a lot
0:11 the Philippine flag and the Poland flag almost destroyed.
So now lets blame somebody who barely did anything and was just walking right before the explosion and cyberbully him until he kills himself. Then we say “WE DID IT REDDIT” after he kills himself. Then it was proven that kid had nothing to do with the boston marathon explosion.
Wow that’s sad i had to go back to this so I can watch the movie The Patriots on Netflix.
Wow, that was some bomb! Couldn’t even blow a hole in the advertisement banners.
This was a very long time ago. But, I’m not sure if this was a dream but; I remember being ready to go to my little cousin birthday party. (I was around 5 or 6) But my mom was so unsure and and didn’t want to go anymore. (We were watching the news while getting ready) My cousins family lives a couple of miles away from Boston and from me and my family. (They also lived with my grandma) Although there wasn’t a bombing anywhere near where they lived, my mother was so scared and didn’t feel safe and was scared that she could possibly lose all of us (my brothers and sisters) we still ended up going (nothing happened obviously) but my mom was VERY protective the entire night. I remember this very clearly. But, I’m finding about this now. This makes me sick. They were innocent people. What type of monsters were they? (I’m sorry if there’s a LOT of incorrect words but there is so much anger yet sadness in me)
If you haven’t yet seen the movie Stronger, I strongly suggest that you do. It’s about Jeff Bauman, the man who lost both of his legs due to the bombing, and helped identify a bomber. His story is truly incredible and inspiring. Jake Gyllenhaal portrays him, and it’s a heartbreaking film, but so powerful.
Poor people
1 like= saving everyone in the world and hope them the best:(
#staysafe
There’s more people in the comments calling out conspiracy theorists than there are actual conspiracy theorists
Great talk Sage, thanks so much for all your posts. As a future training talk I wanted to throw out the idea of how to “train to train”. Planning on running a Nov. marathon to go for BQ, will use your 16 week plan, but what do you recommend prior to starting? Do regular speed work? Tempos? Long runs? Etc. Thanks again
HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN OBAMA IS LYING??? WHEN HE OPENS HIS BIG UGLY MOUTH. NOT SURPRISED IF HE WAS BEHIND IT JUST LIKE BUSH JUNIOR AND SENIOR BEHIND 911
Me and my mom were going to the finish line but we decided not to go because of how hot it was outside
Wait youtube I said satisfying explosions not deadly explosions
This bombing proved one thing. Humans empathy to help each other in a time of chaos. The police and civilians helping the wounded out put a tear in my eye
Imagine you’re there, having fun, not paying attention to anyone suspicious around you, when all of a sudden, a bomb blows up near you, and you pass out for a few seconds, waking up to utter confusion, fear, and massive pain. There are people around you on the ground, crying, bloody, and have dirt on them. You start crying as you realize that your pain was from a bomb. The next twelve seconds pass and you hear another boom thirty-one yards away from you. You start panicking and you try to get up, but you can’t because you’re bleeding, and you’re in pain. You can barely move your leg(s). You look around at the people on the ground, their shoes and pants, possibly a rip in the shirt or two, torn and ruined. Someone’s severed foot with a shoe still on it. You look at your leg(s), and can’t get the mangled image out. Rest in peace to the three people who died, one an eight-year-old. This was a real event, and my grandma, who used to live in Boston, came here when she was younger, and witnessed her father lose both of his legs when the bomb went off. She was safe, and wasn’t hit anywhere, but my great-grandfather couldn’t walk anymore, and had to use a wheelchair for the rest of his life.
Inspiring video. Makes me aim to train efficiently and be a faster runner. Dream Boston!
I was 4 hrs old when this happened and this was the first time I heard the word explosion
Hiii I’m from india and I want to run Boston Marathon, can you guide me plz how to do all
If there’s a hell, whoever did this deserves to rot there and suffer.
God that is so awful to watch, I can’t even come close to imagining being there
This probably made them run faster.
In all due respect and seriousness though, I hope they’re all alright and well now.
Man, it’s scary just to think about this type of stuff like, this can happen at any moment
I reamber watching this live when I was 6 and thinking it was fireworks
