Thank you for sharing! I was searching for information about pcos since I was diagnosed and stumbled across this. So grateful to have found you.
YOU NEED TO DO A RESPONSE VIDEO TO FREELEES LATEST VIDEO ON BRITTANI LANCASTER ITS HORRIFIC PLEASE PLEASE DO A RESPONSE
I am very glad you made this video, beaus Sorelle’s video was very disturbing to me. It especially makes me angry that she puts this content out to a probably young following who adore her and want to look like her, so they might just believe what she says are facts and should be followed…
Fun(ish) fruit information I’m researching diet advice in 16th/17th century Europe for my master’s thesis and that thing about not eating fruit (or other foods) from far away or different climates was a thing then. At that time, physicians thought your balance of bodily fluids (humours) was shaped by environment and would change the durability of your digestive system, also effected by status (I.e. poor people could eat tougher bread etc..) But people didn’t even necessarily follow that then and it certainly didn’t stop merchants importing fruit & veg from the Americas and other continents. Seems like she’s just a few centuries and a continent off! (More info in David Gentilcore’s book on food)
i just experienced those intensified cravings. i was doing intermittent fasting to loose belly fat and howmuchever i tried to control i ate so much sugary foods at once. and the guilts is horrible. This video helps so much
“This Is Why Youtubers Should Stay Away From Nutrition” Oh, if only you and all the other vegan youtubers could see the irony in it.
That’s abundant of info on Pcod Can’t thank you enough May God bless you I hope this info help combat PCOD.
My wife is Slim with little belly fat should she use L-carnitine supplement??
I have learned a lot from Sorelle (for photography), but I’ve been struggling with her recently. I almost unfollowed her on instagram because her stories were fear mongering so much. She seems to have settled down a bit, but when someone has a platform like that they need to be careful with letting themselves fall into fear mongering and definitely need to be wary about promoting it. It directly impacted how I felt throughout the day.
Can someone just hand me a placebo and tell me it will make me menstruate to see if it works? My gynae appointments and investigations got cancelled, I haven’t menstruated since Dec 2018
I’ve watched several of your videos trough the years and I like your science based approach, but I don’t get how you still seem “anti organic”. Organic farming is a step towards regenerative farming, which is a lot better for the environment and eco systems across the globe as well as human health. And I’m not talking about the pesticide residue on conventional fruits and greens, I’m talking about the devastating effects over-spraying pesticides have on communities in poor regions where much of our food is grown. They experience diseases like kidneyand liver damage as well as cancers in a much higher rate than normal. Over fertilizing causes dead zones in the ocean. I urge you to look into regenerative farming as well, it seems to me that it could be a large part of the answer to global warming (through healthy soils ability to store large amounts of carbon and avoid downsides with pesticides and over fertilization of conventional farming). Though the regenerative approach does often involve some animal to be grazing the plot form time to time so I’m sure some people will say it’s not vegan. I’m vegan myself, but I am still very much for this as the world won’t go vegan over night and there will still be demand for meat sadly, though of course it would great if the grazing animals would be allowed to live out their lives happy just grazing around outside. Rich Roll has a few great podcast episodes with MD Zach Bush talking about some of this and there is a documentary called “roundup facing the judges” taking on some of the issues with pesticides.
That girl is insane I love your approach to commenting on it, makes it really bearable. I could have never watched the whole original video
This makes me really sad:/ I used to watch her photography videos an liked her personality and her approach to most things. But this now…
Do you know when PCOS was first recognized as a syndrome. My sister has it and my mom (64) never heard of it before my sisters diagnosis. And I’m wondering if my mom had it as well, because a lot of her stories and or symptoms that she shows now, point to her possibly having PCOS and never knowing about it
I did have the low gi book but without support from my doctor I second guessed myself. I have a new doctor but I havent brought it up yet because Im a mess right now with other things going on and need to take care of those first.
How does she even find 50 different foods to eat with all of her restrictions?
You might reconsider that pesticides, herbicides and fungicides are safe to eat. Check out plant based Dr. Zach Bush presentation on the microbiome. He advocates a whole foods plant based lifestyle, but in his clinic he observed that 30% to 40% of his patients were getting worse on this lifestyle. And what his team of scientist found is that the difference between the ones who thrive and the ones who didn’t was their microbiome composition. And that was largely affected by specially one herbicide in particular which is most likely responsible for most of the EX vegans phenomena. To see the science behind this search on Youtube for this title for his full presentation on the topic ” Zach Bush SNC 2018 Health Impacts of Large Scale Chemical Farming “
I hate when people act like everybody in the entire world including farmers, water suppliers, healthcare providers and dietitians etc. are in on an evil scheme to purposely poison all of humanity
Thank you for making this video. I was diagnosed with PCOS this week.
Omg this is really just….so soothing…Ever since I’ve had PCOS I have been struggling and my gyno and everyone else told me to just lose weight but it has been so hard. At one point I was even really depressed and just with no hope, so those comments hurt even more. There was a really dark time in my life. It just helps to hear that I’m not making this up and that some things are normal. With that said, I am still currently on a LCHF diet which I have found has been the only thing that helped me turn things around in a long while and I feel great. Thanks for this though, really.
It never occurred to me that my ravenous cravings were a symptom, and that everyone didn’t experience cravings that way. Wow!
Honestly I adore Sorelle but her content on food/health kinda give me the creeps
I never understood the 80% nutrition 20% exercise. The day I started lifting weights was the day my body started to look dope and I lowered my body fat and got abs, even though I still ate mass amounts of ice cream ♀️ some people just don’t get skinny when they eat low calorie. Some people have to build muscle to offset the fat.
What species of bacteria do you mean when you mention “probiotics”? Thank you.
“not adapted enough to eat whole grains” people will watch that and think it’s then still ok tho to eat Mc Donald’s and other shit…. But the grains.. hell they’re not healthy
I found out in June and this is so fucking scary like I am 15 and have had struggled with this for as long as I can remember I knew something was wrong with me
Has anyone used the Custokebon Secrets to lost a ton of weight? Just do a search engine search. On there you will discover that a great suggestions about how you can lost lots of fat. Why not give it a chance? perhaps it will work for you too.
do people actually read leif that way? i’ve always read him as more of a hippie/stoner type of vibe.
Thanks a lot for the valuable research and information
I wish mental health was talked about more with pcos. I’m always fatigued and my anxiety depression is so bad and I never hear anyone talk about it or bring it up. It be nice to know I’m not alone. Then also the facial hair is so embarrassing and sweats like I’m going threw menopause but I get a regular period and I wish that was one symptom I did have lol my period has been like clock work last couple years I was in birth control but it gave me a period every two weeks and I felt so drained I did nothing but sleep.ill never get on that progesterone only bc ever again.
please tell me where you got your eyeshadow from! you look stunning!
“We know the basic rules of nutrition that work for virtually everyone…it’s boring. It’s boring as shit.” As someone who has struggled for years and years with having an extremely restrictive diet, this really got to me
one weird symptom I have is burning, hair loss, and sensitivity to my scalp. The bc helps but not as much as years ago
The only thing that’s poison is paying 4k for a water filter
You started talking about all your new animals and I thought you were talking about real pets! lol Like, damn, you’re kinda judgy against animals haha
Do you think you’re still on here because you make money from giving people critiques on what they want to hear about?
As a long time viewer of Sorelle’s videos I am quite saddened for she joined the YT vloggers who ‘preach’ about nutrition without having any education in it (‘life-long’ learner ain’t one…). This ^ video was the first one of hers I purposefully didn’t click on it gave me the good ol’ ‘orthorexic/clean eating/ no-poison/ look how skinny I am’ vibe that I’ve worked so hard on removing myself from. After watching her latest food-themed video (something like ‘What I eat in a day in quarantine’ where she eats only vegetables for lunch…) I had to reconsider my following her.
if we cure PCOs will cure will unwanted hair growth would stop?
I see a lot of people saying food combining is bullshit, but shouldn’t you eat a little extra fiber or protein when you eat carbs to keep it from hitting your blood sugar too quickly? Like, if you want and orange or even orange juice, you’ve gotta pad it so you don’t get hit too hard with the insulin.
The best medicine for arthritis is becoming a vegan. I know.
What do you think of lost a ton of weight using Custokebon Secrets? I see lots of people keep on talking about Custokebon Secrets.
Anybody tried the Custokebon Secrets (do a google search)? We have noticed many amazing things about this popular weight loss diet plan.
what hippocrates actually said (i had a sub major in nutritional anthropology) was “good medicine can be found in food, bad medicine can be found in food, good and bad are relative”. He wrote a lot about diet, exercise and lifestyle being significant factors in health and about prescribing these to those who are sick… he also lived like 450 years BC when “medicine” revolved more around observation and diagnosis and because medicines themselves were not truly developed the observations of the sick were used to prevent illness in the healthy or early stages using lifestyle measures… it had more to do with where science was at the time.. again, hundreds of years BC… when the average lifespan was 35
Oh wow I had never heard of that whole rapeseed oil thing. Here in Finland we use it all the time! Whaat
I would like to know if you have any recommendations for omega -3s
That’s awesome motivation and great information.i always think pcos must lose weight but i understand better a good healthy eating habits and self care is what we need❤️
I absolutely LOVE Sorell Amour and her content. But this video was very off topic for her, and she complained that people didn’t like her video. But she can’t see why people are upset by this. Shutting out your audience and not listening to criticism makes me lose respect for her
I use the refrigerated unsweetened silk for almost everything and don’t find that it makes savory things taste weird. I also don’t really have a taste for sweets, as in I don’t like very sweet things. So maybe I’m just not picking up on it…but then wouldn’t it make me more sensitive to it?? I dunno, just saying lol ♀️
My cousin laughed when I told them I was planning to lose fat with just using Custokebon Secrets, but after I showed these people unbelivable effects after I used it they’re begging me to tell them about it. Of course I won’t let them know the details about this diet plan, haha
sorelle is the fakest woke person. Shes actually unpalatable at how arrogant she comes across. Like if you want someone to preach to you watch her.
If this way works for you, great, but it did not for me and after years and years of trying, I discovered WFPBNO way of eating and it works and is amazing. Even if you don’t have diabetes, check out: Mastering Diabetes (masteringdiabetes.org)
I stopped listening to what you said after “whole diet of cookies”…where do I sign up for the all-cookie-all-the-time diet? Vegan cookies, obviously…in all seriousness, though, if I can’t eat plenty of fruit because I live in the Midwest, I’m moving to the equator, stat. Fruit= Nature’s Cookies!
Ugh. It annoys me how many “health” vloggers promote alkaline water. Theres no claim that it’s better for you. It can actually harm you in the long run.
So let me make sure I understand on a basic level… I have insulin resistance and I am on metformin. I actually do want to lose wait for the sake of visceral fat. Diabetes runs in my family. If I eat enough and intuitively, take my supplements and medications and work out. I can possibly lose weight or at least manage my symptoms properly?!?! I was planning to talk to my doctor anyways, but the video is what I needed. I was the Stephanie Buttermore video and accepted that low carb or lowering my calories isn’t working. I can’t sleep. I am sluggish and hungry. Binge eating is my friend. Hahaha
I followed her on Instagram and this was…big yikes! I will be unfollowing.
Omg I can’t believe the joke she made about the rapeseed oil I actually gasped that’s awful
like some of the commentors, i too have teared watching this as i’ve been recently diagnosed with PCOS for over a year because of over/lengthy bleeding. after many visits to the doc with test and meds, i’m currently on metformin. i’m a big girl since young and apparently it’s because of pcos i’ve been this size (cause of the cravings and loving food and love to eat) but issues only started a year ago when my menses were not stopping. i’ve had irregular cycles since then. i’m on my 3rd month of metformin and i’m not sure if it’s working. cause of metformin, my appetite has been surpressed (as expected and warned by my doc) but my weight is still the same (even with abit of exercise and cutting down on food portions cause of no appetite to eat)… i dont know what else to do. i’m just tired of having periods everyday (i’ve not swam for ages)
Guys. lost tons of weight does not need to be hard (I used to feel it did). I’m going to give you some advice now. Get a popular fat loss system called Custokebon Secrets (just search it on google). Thanks to it I’ve lost tons of weight. I shouldn’t even be speaking about it cause I do not really want lots of other guys out there running exactly the same game but whatever. I’m just simply in a excellent mood today so I’ll share the wealth lol.
I read a lot of good reviews on the net about how exactly Custokebon Secrets (look on google search engine) can assist you lost a lot of weight. Has anybody tried using this popular weight loss system?
One of the sources she cited was related to Pete Evans an Australian chef renowned for peddling pseudoscience pls do a video on him if you haven’t already!
In my mid forties I was the victim of crippling OA. The Dr told me there was no cure and was going to put me on cortisone ‘to buy me some time’. However, I met a person who convinced me to try a whole food plant based diet for just ninety days before filling the prescription. I turn seventy eight this year, have no OA nor any of the allergies I used to suffer with, am still following the lifestyle, never filled the prescription nor returned to the Dr(?). Peace
Regarding organic product, in France dietician/government encourage people to eat organic food, but it’s more because it seem healthier for farmersand soil to product organic food.
I ate nothing but cakes for a year when I was 19 and i didn’t put on weight because 19 + metabolism / genes from my dad and grandfather + set point that my parents had set by feeding me healthy nutritious food for the other 18 years. I’m glad I didn’t have instagram and I couldn’t tell people about my “only eat one type of food (i.e. cake) and you’ll stay thin” theory
So glad you review this video, I watched the original and was triggered by her misinformation. So problematic. But then again she’s an anti Vaxxer so
What is Custokebon Secrets? Does it work? I hear lots of people burn their fat with this popular lose weight secrets.
Thank you so much for this information-I was diagnosed 7 years ago but I’ve been struggling with PCOS since early teenhood. My docs tell me my labs are looking great and generally I eat pretty well but I’m still overweight and struggling with the weight loss as my last big hurdle…which is even further complicated by food allergies. How can I ensure that I’m getting adequate protein/Omega 3s when I’m allergic to fish/shellfish?
Thank you so much for this video Abbey. I learned a lot and I will definitely try it and change my diet.
Sharing the link below to everyone, saw it while searching about Low GI food. It’s a tool that swap those high carb food for a lower GI one.

Well you’re a youtuber and you are talking about nutrition…maybe YOU should stay away from it to be an example for others…also you made several videos bashing dietatians…
Oh my God you’re seriously telling ppl to eat this stuff! You’re going to be overweight and have diabetes but your brain will be good. Ha ha! Yeah right!
A large amount of women with PCOS have hypothyroidism, whether diagnosed or undiagnosed because doctors do the wrong tests (TSH and FT4) despite the fact that research actually shows that FT3 is the lab that tracks closely to symptoms and T3 is the active thyroid hormone: https://paulrobinsonthyroid.com/only-free-t3-ft3-tracks-changes-in-symptoms-during-thyroid-treatment-research/?fbclid=IwAR1yzLz2KUd9n_fU-cZB54nmJYAsY8FOYcmVz-yToJLL18XF6OYcQbNXErE.
Yet even when diagnosed most people are put on T4 only medicines like Synthroid, which simply does not normalise thyroid function for the vast majority of people. This is why people will say all the time that they are hypo and on meds, yet also turn around and say they can’t lose weight, are depressed, cold etc. If they were adequately replaced such symptoms would go away.
As strange as this sounds endocrinologists tend to be the worst doctors for thyroid help. They think the TSH and FT4 tells all, when it really truly doesn’t, since as you know TSH is a pituitary hormone and FT4 is not the active thyroid hormone.

Okay dude but people remember THIS lady is also “just” a YouTube with opinions….
I absolutely agree that too much fruit can be bad for many people. And ABSOLUTELY water is filled with bad stuff in most countries. Water is dirty today. It is!:) she’s not wrong about that.
Remember ALL youtubers are just people with opinions. Look it up for yourself.
I’m 58 kg and my height is 5’9″.. typically I don’t have any more weight to loose.. else I’ll be underweight.. and yes I am actually fit. So yeah I guess don’t stress about it.. just take your recommended medications with little supplements and move your body in a way you like and start making new dishes to explore more of your FAVs.
At last I just want to say that I heard about going gluten and dairy free but these both are low GI foods just limit their consumption bcoz dairy is a very important daily need. Else you know what your body is saying to you so respect and love it.. coz YOU CAN❤️
I finally found out I have PCOS recently (I’m 31) after many years of going to doctors with severe acne since I was 11 years old, as well as oily skin, irregular painful periods, random dark hairs growing on my chest, and thinning hair. Not one doctor ever mentioned PCOS. I just got acne creams and pills. I think it’s because I’ve been really slim my whole life, and weight gain seems to be the main PCOS symptom doctors look for.
However, I suddenly started rapidly gaining weight a few months ago (25lb) and my hair loss got way worse so I went to a dermatologist and told them about my hair loss, rapid weight gain, having acne for 20 years, and irregular periods. They immediately tested for PCOS. It seems like gaining weight finally made doctors take me seriously.
Interestingly, I was also recently diagnosed with sleep apnea and I have sebhorriec dermatitis which are both linked to PCOS.
I’m sharing my story so others know that weight gain isn’t always a symptom (of PCOS or sleep apnea). I’m 5’6″ and was 115 lb my entire 20’s with very little effort, just a regular healthy lifestyle gym 3 times a week, eating mostly healthy food but never calorie counting or restricting portion sizes.
It sucks, but now that I have a diagnosis i can do something about it and I’m excited to learn more about how to treat it. Thanks for the video!
Her video seems so privileged to me. It’s easy to be naturally thin and then tell people how to eat. It’s easy to be able to afford all organic and then tell people how to spend money.
Damn… Her photography advices were so interesting, why did she switch to nutrition?:/
This was one of the more helpful videos I have seen on this and really appreciate the non diet view of this and an emphasis on self care. Thank you!
Ah thank you, thank you for your perspective! What would we do without you?!?
My friend sent me this video because I have PCOS and I’m so glad to have all this information. My doctor just told me to eat less carbs, take this hormonal birth control and good luck. This video was very helpful, thank you
They laughed when I told them I was going to reduce weight with just using Custokebon Secrets, but after I showed these people awesome effects after I used it they are begging me to tell them about it. Of course I won’t tell them the details about this diet plan, haha
I was diagnosed with PCOS this week alongside insulin resistance. I haven’t had my period in 3 months. I’ve been undereating and overexcersicing. I am 105 lbs. And my height is 164 cm. So I am a little bit underweight. Lately I’ve been getting a few blemishes which I hate my doctor recommended me to increase my protein so I’ve been eating more beans, hard boiled egg, nuts, seeds, tuna, and grilled chicken. She also told me to eat low carb and mainly eat sweet potatoes and oats. My diet consist mainly of whole grains, (except for gluten since I’m intolerant), lean proteins, lots of veggies and healthy fats. I don’t have dairy, sugar, refined carbs, red meat, bread, and fish since I’m allergic. I am taking 250 mg of metformin to treat my PCOS but the side effects are killing me. I feel nauseated, weak, and have stomachache. I started eating a little bit more and actually I’m feeling better now. I do still exercise everyday. I love HIIT, weightlifting, yoga, pilates, meditation, cardio, rope jumping, and long walks.
I also have PCOS. It is so refreshing to hear this type of information instead of the typical response from doctors to go on hormonal birth control. I feel like I finally understand why I have the symptoms I do and what steps I need to take at managing my PCOS in the future. Thank you!
What on earth is youtube doing, i have so many more ads recently, do they realize that i choose not to use ad-blocker so that I can support creators and that is litterally the only reason I don’t turn the ads off? 20 video ads in a 26 minute video is not ok. Why are they punishing me for trying to support creators?
I love the gentle, compassionate tone of your video. I was not expecting it. But it made me realise how much I needed it. Thank you
PCOS is so different woman to woman! What really helped me was a 40:1 ratio supplement of myo:d-chiro inositol, vaginal progesterone during the latter half of my cycle to help with regulation, switching to a low glycemic diet, and regular exercise. I went from not ovulating to conceiving a baby within a month of implementing these changes!
Always funny when an overweight person tries to make health claims lol I’m done
The part about tap water in many parts of the world tap water isn’t actually drinkable…
You know it’s really interesting. I struggled with weight for most of my life. There was a period of time when I was eating the tiniest portions and running all the time and that was the only way I could maintain my weight. I was convinced that it was all about the diet but that simply was not true. I started powerlifting and building muscle and because I was building actual muscle my BMR went up and now I eat way more than I ever used to and am leaner and healthier. People often fail to acknowledge building muscle as an option for being able to increase the amount of calories you can take in.
You are such an important voice on this platform. I love your approach and mindset. ❤️
I’m tired of these people with huge followings, no qualifications and their shameless propagation of misinformation.
Hello there, I want to know if Custokebon Secrets, will work for me? I see many people keep on speaking about this popular lose weight secrets.
I dont have much credential I am an undergrad bio chem student I really like you videos the one thing that really irks me about soda being bad is that what you said is right it is high in calories and easy to not pay attention but the rust thing oh my god does that piss me off. Like it does that because its a carbonated acidic drink rust just means it is oxidized which mean oxygen when carbon and an acid come,in contact with it the mixture just strips the top nothing dangerous or “poison” our stomachs acid is at a 1 pH so is battery acid does that mean that our stomach is poison no our body can handle soda to a moderate amount the reasons it is bad is because of the sugar for our teeth and for our weight. Just because some thing reacts does not mean it is dangerous you made a good point of telling the audiance that lemon and viniger gets rid of rust as well. It bothers me because it is such bad science and chemicalphobia.
This video was extremely helpful! Not only was the information backed by real science and studies but also provided a real non bias insight into the research and unknowns of this condition. Thank you so much for being a source of knowledge and bringing new light on such an important topic that tends to be “fixed” with weight loss and birth controls.
Love this video Abby! So informative. Have you done anything in regards to somatotypes? I have seen a lot of videos talking about tailoring your macros to your body types. Also wants to know your thoughts on “carb tolerance”
Super random and unrelated… but you kinda look like Kat Dennings
I read plenty of great opinions on the net about how exactly Custokebon Secrets will help you lost crazy amounts of fat. Has any one tried this popular fat burn methods?
I’m watching this again. I was really resisting the idea of allowing myself a variety of foods, so I thought the decision to skip gluten and dairy was very smart. I’m afraid that by avoiding dairy and gluten, I’ve lost the enzymes to digest them. Now whenever I eat these I get super bloated. I understand that it will take at least a year until my digestion recovers. I’ll try a probiotic and try to include fermented foods in my diet.
I feel so relieved that I found intuitive eating. I was obsessed with chips and chocolate and french fries and cheese before. Now I allow myself to eat them whenever I feel like it in whatever quantity I feel like it. Surprisingly, they lost their power on me. I haven’t had chips for 3 months now I tthink, because I simply didn’t crave them anymore.
I am cycling different types of low GI carbs, like black or brown rice, oats, full grain bread, but I also include potatoes, paired with protein and fat. I eat fatty fish twice a week, and I even included vegetarian days when I indulge in lentil soup, beans, hummus or peas.
I love the one pot recipes, and going to the market and picking whatever is in season, then cooking it. I just look at my macros a little bit, to have every dish balanced. But that’s it. I eat to satiety, then stop. I even lost a couple of kgs. When my body is going to be ready to let go of the rest of excess kg, it will naturally. I’m just going to focus on giving it nutritious food, a variety of foods and reduced stress around food.
Olive oil is more stable at pretty high temps than people realise because it’s rich in polyphenols. My goldfish are cute, they have personalities. But fish eat other fish/sea creatures sooooo yeah.
I’m underweight n have pcod… i feel really bad when ppl say to losses weight
What to do?
I can’t loose weight
I think you got wrong the fruit point. She maybe was talking about the fact in some countries fruits do not really naturally grow, or not that much.
I watched her video as well and was really confused like o.O… Also, just wanted to point out that your makeup is really pretty!
You’re a breath of fresh air, as ever. Great video.
One question. Isn’t there some quite intriguing evidence re the “bullet proof coffee” thing, in terms of positive outcomes in improving insulin sensitivity? I know mostly this stuff is very faddy, but I think there is some quite compelling data on that for pre diabetics or something…? I could be imagining it. x
Hi Abbey! I was just diagnosed with PCOS, and I was wondering if my intense cravings for lemons and limes could be tied to that? Like, I could chomp into a lemon like a freaking apple and it freaks my husband out lol
I really like her travel & photography content but I was very disappointed in this video. I think that the fruit thing while being close to the equator might have been from an eco conscious standpoint, I might sure but I wouldn’t be surprised that she meant at least partially that of course importing foods on any type really, from halfway across the world is bad. Not defending her because I didn’t like most of the things she said in her video, like you pointed out, it was just a thought I had while watching yours. I loved your video
I worked at a school where they made us take lots of “trainings” and one of then was by a nutritionist who told us we should have an alkaline diet, not combining, etc. So, what to do when it is a nutritionist who tells you that?
Which protein supplement would you recommend to women who’re diagnosed with PCOD? Also, I wanna know could women have green tea or coffee in PCOD. KINDLY REPLY
Thanks so many good points here! The point about asking skinny people what they eat everyone needs to hear that. I have no idea what you are talking about at the end I thought you meant real cats LOL
If left untreated? I have all that and my doctors believe its being treated with bc. If I ask for more help I am ignored and told they dont know much about it anyways
Hello everyone i was able to get rid of my pcos with natural herbs medicine treatment from dr ehimare in Africa and I’m perfectly fine now.
If you wish to shed weight, you need to check out Custokebon Secrets on google. They’ll make it easier to get the shape you should have.
Thank you for addressing this! I used to follow her for her photography videos and this last video shocked me!
I love that people are scared of Coke. Man, don’t tell them about stomach acid. lol
I have PCOS, and whenever I spend time at the beach for a week straight I instantly feel better. Does anyone else find this???(PS I have a youtube channel if anyone is looking for LOW GI recipe’s, and grocery hauls etc)!! xxoxoxo <3
plz answer me…. i have tiny follicles in both ovaries but i don’t have cyst what does it means?
Honest question, in your opinion (yes, you reading this) do you think that the amount of pain matters? Thinking about the cow x fish argument. Or do you think pain is pain regardless? Let’s talk:)
Hi Abbey! Thank you for the awesome video:) my name is Danielle I’ve PCOS due to insulin resistance, I started having issues with my period since I got it when I was 9 but it wasn’t until I was 21 that I started having additional problems like weight gain, acne, hirsutism, etc. currently I’m 26 and I’m on a low carb diet to try and fix my insulin resistance but as you mentioned it’s really difficult to reduce carb consumption, having this condition, one gets this strange cravings, it’s similar to being thirsty you just want to make it stop, supposedly the need for carbs should decline over time as I get used to this diet( similar to a keto diet but not so restrictive) still for me it’s a huge challenge… So I’m really happy to hear the info on your video, I felt understood. Also a question, I have heard a lot about keto or pseudo keto diets to lower insulin, also about intermittent fasting from Dr.Fung for the same purpose, what are your thoughts on that?
As far as the diet goes I’ve been thinking of switching my diet completely around at least for a little while.
Chicken breasts, eggs will probably be my main,
I’m not a big fish person bu how do you feel about shrimp?
Also salads, I’ve heard they aren’t really that good for you. Is this true?
And dairy?? I love cheese
Lastly, for the chicken I don’t like plain chicken can I use different spices? Is that ok? As long as they have no sugar.
Telling people ots not curable is neglegent amd demorslizing. All kinds of things have been cured and there are many women who have cured pcos.
I’m pretty surprised you didn’t mention spearmint, as there are significant studies showing that it can lower androgens.
Thanks for the video it’s helpful. What supplements that you could recommend to lower testosterone?
This is the best PCOS video ever. Thank you for being so direct and honest.
Hey Abbey,
I want to thank from the bottom of my heart for this video. Since I can remember, I have been struggling with my weight, my body image and my bingeing. My mother and the professionals who were supposed to help me when I was younger, before my diagnosis, told me I was lacking willpower. When I was 14, I found solace in my diagnosis, when the doctor told me that due to my condition, it was easier for me to gain weight from a normal diet, however the pressure never stopped there. The number of professionals I had to see each three months for medical controls doubled, and each of them repeated the same, that I had to lose weight and cut sugars and carbs. Even when I tried, i found myself starving and having powerful cravings that I couldn’t control and I fell into bingeing, my doctors couldn’t understand me, and once again told me I was lacking willpower. Then I found out about intuitive eating and about you, this whole channel has changed my life and this video made me feel so incredibly validated, I cannot put it into words. Your work is incredible.
bro, you say poor sleep makes it worse, and sleep disorders are more common, but what can we do about it? I do everything, have perfect sleep hygiene, reduce stress….and still have crippling insomnia. Feels like a kick in the face. Poor sleep makes everything else worse but how do I fix sleep?
Theres a shelf stable soy milk that tastes different? Omg I didn’t know!
I know Sorelle’s boyfriend has an entire podcast all about “biohacking” so I think Sorelle has really taken a lot of advice from him, I’m kinda disappointed with her video since I love all her other content yet she made so many claims with 0 backing and idk why it isn’t widely known that we wouldn’t be able to feed the whole world on only organic with 0 pesticides, I hope she listens to the feedback and takes it into consideration in any future nutrition videos
You weren’t supposed to cut your bangs. You told us to tell you
Yesh she is basically showing people how to have disordered eating. This is coming from someone with diagnosed Disordered Eating.
Eat organic she says as she cuts to a video of a car driving (what? since when is organic about a car like that??)
This video is so wonderful. Reading the comments is very helpful too. Sad that so many women have to deal with the same things. I’ve been feeling really horrible lately and have been heavily restricting. I’ve now got alot of things to look into and hopefully figure this out without having to deny myself so much in order to fit under that blanket recommendation in order to see an OBGYN.
Thank you. Thank you so much for existing and making this video. I’ve been struggling and starving myself to lose weight.:(
I felt free after watching this video.
xoxo from Manila
What is the best way to lost tons of weight? I read loads of good reviews on the internet about how exactly Custokebon Secrets can help you lost crazy amounts of weight. Has anyone tried this popular lose weight method?
Her boyfriend also calls himself a “bio hacker,” so I’ve been weary of what she’s been putting up on those topics. I really like her photography videos though!
I am really happy of this video dear…
Three month ago, i was putting weight more and more every day with just birth control pills and a lots of sadness.
Now with inositol and Vitamin d just i get regular periods and losing 10 pounds with intuitive eating. No more curving for sugar… I am so much happy.
Does Custokebon Secrets really help to lost a ton of fat? I have read many good things about this popular weight loss diet plan.
I want to thank Dr Mike from the bottom of my heart for all the prayers, positive vibes and spiritual sacrifice you did to make me a mother of my baby boy and sticky baby dust you sent me throughout my pregnancy. you are really the best fertility health practitioner out there, All the love and support hasn’t gone unnoticed. And all that positive energy sprinkled out into the universe and it worked. He’s snuggling on my chest perfectly calm. baby boy Hendrix was born in the couple’s New Jersey home on May 13 at 3:37 p.m, weighing in at 9 pounds, 4 ounces and measuring 21 inches long. and content as i write this caption to you and everyone who needs your help in getting pregnant easy and quickly. my fertility doctor contact is anyspellcaster@ gmail.com will certainly help.
What is the best way to lost tons of fat? I read lots of superb reviews on the net about how exactly Custokebon Secrets can help you lost a ton of weight. Has anyone tried using this popular weight loss methods?
I have pcos and I’ve always been healthy weight, also always been very active though… as a result though I have very elevated andro/estrogens nearly no progesterone and way too much LH way too little FHS… how can you balance this if you already do all the right things and still have negative androgenic effects?
I’ve heard that DIM can help with excess estrogens as those rise along with testosterone…. my doctor prescribed spironolactone as well to help flush out androgens and help with acne and other symptoms
Ive been asked to show my titties hahaha I adore you.
I thought my whole life: how can people just ignore their cravings like so much better than I do. Well…. I have had pcos since a long time now and no one ever gave me the advice you did in this one video
In my area far from the equator (Northern Ontario) we have fruits that naturally grow here. I’ve found blueberries, raspberries and strawberries in the bush so idk what she’s saying about no fruits far from the equator. Clearly shes not a fruit geography expert. Fruits are very healthy. And I can easily get the other fruits that dont grow here like and at the store.
This video has great information, but I’m not sure about the best diet plan which i should work with, only because I have never taken any. Anyone tried using the Custokebon Secrets? I have heard many folks mention awesome things about Custokebon Secrets.
how can you be a vegan and not mix carbs and proteins? i literally don’t understand
I’m 21 now and have been struggling with PCOS ever since I had my first period which was around 14-15.
last time I got checked they told me I don’t have any cysts anymore but I honestly don’t know what happened after than. I take so many pills and vitamans everyday, I’m sick of it.
so thank you! its great to feel so understood by someone and I should probably get checked with another doctor soon
Thanks for making this video. When I was diagnosed with PCOS, when trying to conceive, my fertility doctor would tell me to lose weight. Yes duh of course I knew this. My fertility doctor would weigh me and take my bmi every time I went in for a check up and I felt so shamed if I didn’t lose any weight or didn’t meet the goals they wanted. For a year she did this and refused to help treat my infertility until I lost a certain amount of weight (I was definitely overweight but not unhealthy). I was doing everything I could but it just never seemed enough for them. I felt like crying every time I was in her office as she just didn’t seem to understand. I was so frustrated at them for wasting a year of my time that I just left and felt like giving up. My GP did put me on metformin, which I do believe helped in some way. Also the stress of not needing to keep up this unattainable weight loss regime. 6 months later I got pregnant on my own.
It took me a full 3 minutes to realize your shirt is Darth Vader… I’m disappointed in myself. Lol
Curiously what’s your thoughts on insects?
Crickets in particular have started to gain momentum here In South East Asia as a protein source with a lot being farmed in Vietnam.
Insects are a big part of certain cuisines here so curious on your thoughts.
I really needed this, Abbey. Thank you so much for your help and guidance
I would add diabetes type 2, depression and anxiety to the plethora of PCOS linked chronic diseases. Eating disorders in this case are more often than not preceeded by a mental disorder developed through an excess of cortisol. I’m looking into CBD oil to deal with my bad anxiety, to be able to get healthy afterwards. I know I can’t do it unless it’s in this order.
i cant go to a doctor where i live because i know more about pcos than my doctor which is rediculous.
They need to do a test study on sulphur 30c because after taking it for 2 month my periods came back then after 6-7 months i got pregnant and i put it down to the sulphur because that was the only thing i took so it must of help some how but i was only taking it my acne and thought id have to have ivf again.
Not sure if it would work for everyone so a study really needs done.
Actually, the “food is medicine” is Chinese belief, it happens on the fundamental idea in ancient time that they do not have medicine, the only way is to eat food and with a long history, they found that some food cures some symptoms and they believe that if you are lacking or have the problem of something, you need to eat that part in. I believe that. in Asian I believe most of us understand that eating the right food can be a benefit to your health more than it will cure the decease. (this explanation is from what I understand from very little read which can be different in details)
Hi Abbey, what can one do to control hair loss due to PCOS.?
Thank you! You were right, I had never been given these things to think about regarding PCOS.
With the fruit thing, maybe she’s trying to cut down on shipping/carbon emissions by having people eat only local foods as much as possible? Hopefully that’s what she meant? Because yeah, there’s no fruit healthiness genes, and your genetics don’t change when you move to a new place
Here in Germany tab water is actually more regulated than bottled water
I want to cry tears if relief! I’ve dealt with this since middle School but did not get diagnosed (with abnormal uterine bleeding) until college. Depression and anxiety interfered with school and my social life. It’s good to learn about PCOS, discover that other people have it, and try to come up with realistic solutions.
Thank you, I’m dealing with soreness and stiffiness. It hurt to get on my knees
Well what Sorelle said may not have been entirely true but it still seems healthy to me
I used to love watching Sorelle when her content was mostly about taking pictures, but her new videoes give me weird vibe. She sounds like someone so disconnected from the actual world. I cannot handle it.
Hello, Abbey! Thank you for making this video. There is a lot of argumentative discussion in online support groups about this topic.
I would like to ask if weight-loss smoothies such as Herbalife and Shakeology are bad for us Cysters.
Also, thank you for touching base on weightloss and the role it plays in our disease. I’ve had the exact same symptoms with the same severity since I was 14 years old. I’m 32 now. I’ve been 5’6″ that whole time, and my weight has ranged from 112lbs (I was really sick with pneumonia during that time) to 230 lbs. My weight never seems to have any affect.
Thank you again for a good video <2
I get so so angry when someone, a youtuber or other, just state stuff like this, when you say stuff online a lot of people will believe you, and that is harmfull. Especially for people who have an eating disorder.
Talking about fish…I saw a video of a scuba diver petting a fish, so cute… But I would still eat that fish! I’m not vegan but I love your videos for the information that you share, and definitely the videos about these youtubers giving pseudo nutritional advice!
Thank you so much for this video! We’ve been trying to conceive for 10 years and I was recently diagnosed with Complex Endometrial Hyperplasia with Atypia and PCOS. I actually had the Mirena for a year and I no longer have CEH. So yay! And I’ve been looking for videos on PCOS so I can get this under control and your video is amazing!!! Thank you again!!! I am encouraged and inspired to start our baby journey with all these tips!
You don’t understand how lost I am. I just got the diagnosis today after my blood test and sonogram came back. And between my doc and obgyn they said “you just need to lose weight”. Thats it. No follow up. I am so happy that I finally have an answer from the major pain of cysts rupturing. And I have gained 40 pounds in over a year. Before this mess I was a normal college student. Moderately healthy. Balanced food (yeah alcohol on the weekends). But mostly whole foods, delicious salads, went to the gym 2-3 /week and i walk my dog every day and night. It just broke my heart to see the scale at 190 yesterday. (I also find it Bizarre that with my history of an ED my doctor just said well calorie count.)
Been having crazy carb cravings, didn’t realize that may be associated with my PCOS
This was not very helpful. If you read books / other doctors the best way to reduce inflammation is to have a low inflammation diet. No gluten and no diary
I actually found that extended water fasting cured me, all the cysts were gone, my period was FINALLY normal! However, because I didn’t change my diet it came back. I’m a strong believer that sugar and gluten are huge factors. Extended Water fasting has even healed some people from tumors and certain forms of cancer. It’s so sad that there is so much corruption in the medical and food industry. PCOS can be cured. There are people that have by lifestyle changes. It’s a tough road but it’s not impossible. Best wishes to you all! You ladies can do it!!
Every time she said “poison” I thought of The Princess Bride. “You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”
Some pcos diets advise cutting out gluten, dairy, and sugar. What are your views on that?
Joining the throng in saying: I feel seen! For the first time EVER in my diagnosis, I feel like I’ve heard some sound advice and felt cared for. Thank you for all of the fact-based information, compassion, and the hope for getting on top of my symptoms without the “just lose weight…” mandate. Thank you Abbey and Julie!!!!!
