Ingredients 3 cups cheerios cereal 1.5 cups pretzels 1/2 cup unsalted peanuts 1/2 cup unsalted cashews 1/2 cup unsalted almonds 3/4 cup dried cherries 1/4 cup canola oil 1 teaspoon smoked paprika 1 teaspoon ground turmeric 1 teaspoon ground cumin 1/2 teaspoon salt.Place the pan in the oven and bake the nut mixture for approximately 30 to 40 minutes, or until the nuts are toasted. I’ve been making these for 3 years now, very easy but I usually have to cook them for a little longer than he says. if you don’t they can be stickey and the nuts aren’t as crisp. I think I use 12 minutes, stir then another 12. it probably depends on your oven.

I just made these, and unfortunately they came out rather gooey/sticky rather than crystalized like in the video. I followed the recipe; the only things i changed was halving the recipe and starting with salted nuts (I ommitted the salt from the recipe to account for that). I don’t see how that could change my results… Does anyone know what might have happened?

I JUST made these and am waiting till totally cool to pack up for gifts for tomorrow (Christmas Eve). These are SO easy even a barber can make them! They really do look like some gourmet store gift. I used 4 cups of deluxe (no peanuts) mixed salted nuts so I left out the salt. They are delicious! Thanks so much Chef John!

He should add to the disclaimer to not attempt to eat nuts fresh from the oven because hot nuts will burn your mouth.
