Just picked up some Schmidt’s bergamot & lime……love the scent and doesn’t break me out…..this is also the first all natural deodorant i have used…..we shall see how it does at work.
Well I guess I’m abnormal I’ve been using antiperspirant all my life and I always smelled funky and my shirts were all stained. So I decided to change to natural deodorants no baking soda, and my life completely changed. Yes, I went through a detox phase. Not only I don’t smell under my arms I don’t smell down there either I can’t really explain why but I can only assume it has to do with my body detoxifying. So by you’re saying all this you’re calling me a liar. I am so happy I no longer use antiperspirant and I don’t have to break the bank buying new shirts, I don’t have to be embarrass over my smell or wet stains. Deodorants with no aluminum DO work and if it can prevent some diseases why not? Why use additional ingredients that I don’t need ����♀️ I would never go back. This video was no good because you’re kind of mocking people that went through this process.. too bad for you it worked for me! FYI I use Lume but I started with Toms they both work awesome ��

I was watching this video to see if I could find a good natural deodorant for my husband. He hasn’t actually tried any natural deodorants mainly because he considers them to be too expensive and I wear girly scents that he is unwilling to try.
When I lived in Colorado (during the winter) I tried Schmidt’s Deodorant pot in Bergamot Lime and I had no problems with it at all (I was pregnant during that time too.). I’ve tried Primal Pit Paste in several of their paste pot scents. I’ve never tried the stick form (I lived in Indiana through all of the seasons and found this deodorant to work fine for me on most days. It’s not so great on extremely muggy days. I now live in Arizona and have been through all of the seasons. Primal Pit Paste DOES NOT WORK for me during the Arizona summer (It melts and becomes soupy at around 84 degrees F). For me, Primal Pit Paste also gives me a rash when I apply it the same day I shave under my arms and it burns like a bunch of fire ants biting me. For some reason, I have no need for any deodorant at all during the Arizona winter/spring/fall seasons.Maybe because of the arid climate?). When I lived in California, I tried Now brand Apricot scented deodorant stick. It smelled like a dessert to me. It didn’t make me break out, but it was one of the worst natural deodorants for me. I might have had a defective one because it was too creamy and melted as if it was mostly coconut oil the moment I put it to my skin. Customer service was horrible. They flat out told me that it was my fault that I smelled so bad. They wouldn’t refund my money or replace the stick. I also tried the crystal deodorant in both crystal and liquid form. They didn’t really work for me. One last deodorant I’ve tried whilst living in California (all seasons), is Welleda spray on deodorant. Like others have said, DO NOT try to spray this on the same day you’ve shaved your arm pits. It hurts. I also noticed that it didn’t last even a few hours before it made me smell worse than if I’d used nothing. I still have it and use it as a rode water spritz perfume for my body rather than the pits.
This video was right on time. I had stopped wearing deodorant or antiperspirant because they were irritating my underarms. That was not working out too well for me. I had to scrub and pretreat the underarms of my shirts with laundry detergent to get the smell out. I have tried Schmidt’s and Primal Pit Paste and they both work very well. I do prefer Schmidt’s smell and they are in my local grocery store. Thanks very much for the knowledge that you drop in your videos and keep up the good work. Salute!!

i too have hyperhydrosis + not sure i can go w|o an antiperspirant not b|c i mind the sweat — i don’t at all. but i have cranio-facial hyperhydrosis which is like trying to operate w| a running shower over my head.
the body sweat sans antiperspirant….i can’t even imagine. but this video has piqued my curiosity. i’ll be trying at least Lumē + Lone as well as the drug store options to see how they stack up against my trusty “Certain Dri” which actually does work 72hrs for me.

Yes! I have been faithfully using Little Seed farm for almost a year! I have never had any irritation or rashes like other natural deodorants, and it continues to smell so good! I have the Rosemary Patchouli scent and it is HEAVEN. Their soaps are amazing too, and very reasonably priced.

It’s gotta be Schmitt’s Bergamot and Lime scent. Also, habe you tried a deodorant crystal? I just got one from the store (after getting sick of shirt yellowing from my D.O.) and these crystals are the real deal! I think they’re made of alum, the same as you would use in your face after shaving. The one I got is a twist up giant rock crystal called “24 Hr Crystal Mineral Deodorant Stick” and it really does last 24 hours with no funk! SALUTE!

I’ve tried several natural/aluminum free deodorants and I’ve found what works for me is the Arm & Hammer Aluminum free deodorant paired with Dr. Teal’s aluminum free deodorant. Dr. Teal’s would work by itself, but it’s too stiff/hard so I use the Arm & Hammer to help the Dr. Teal’s deodorant spread and the two of them together is under $5.
I like Tom’s deodorant because it has no aluminum in it. I don’t use the antiperspirant line….well….because of the aluminum content.
One of the problems with natural deodorants is that many of them contains oils which are likely to stain your shirts. I had that problem with Schmidt’s tea tree deodorant.

Quitting anti-perspirant with aluminum got rid of my almost daily migraines that were occurring for years.
Great video! I ordered some natural deodorant yesterday and it came to me last night. Today I went for a long walk with the kids and it’s hot out, it’s 83F and with the humidity its more like 93f outside. This morning I put on Schmidt’s Charcoal deodorant and after arriving backhoe.e all sweaty I can’t complain at all the smell is still awesome and I think I will buy this from now on.
I also purchased Lavilin which I have not tried yet.
I’ve had severe hyperhydrosis since puberty. Its been so horrible and then I passed it down to my daughter and watching her suffer from it after my own experience is heart breaking. I finally found an amazing product thats inexpensive too. It does have aluminum in it though but ive never been able to use non aluminum deodorant/antiperspirant. I can smell fine without aluminum but sweat so much that its the covered in sweat that bothers me not the smell of myself. So I use Women Mitchum shower fresh gel and get a 2pack at Walmart for $5 or less so its awesome it so inexpensive and works. I hope that anyone who suffers from this knows they’re not alone, I literally thought I was the only one who had this problem growing up so I was to scared to talk to anyone about it even family and doctor. It was so horrible. Good luck!
Thank for sharing. I had bought Native Natural Deodorant. I have used it for 5 days. I switched it from job using Right Guard that has aluminum. I have seeat using Right Guard but it does the job with keeping me smelling good or fresh. With Native I was surprised I was still smelling good. It has all it’s naturals and it is aluminum-free. So far so good with Native. I am for the natural products these days.
I’m using Arm & Hammer right now. So far, so good. I have to wait until the summertime. That’s when I know for sure if it’s a staple in my daily routine ����.

Salute OG! I have it to say, the best all natural deodorant I have used is Green Tidings. I swear a lot and this thing got me covered. The biggest draw back is price. And it gets a little clunky like clay.
One thing you may not have taken into account is buildup in your clothes. I don’t know how to describe it, but the Lume people insist it’s important to purify your clothes

I can’t use the same deodorant all the time. My body seems to get used to a product for a while then does not like it.
It’s surprisingly difficult to not upset underarm skin, in my experience. I’ve had many kinds of deodorants and antiperspirants irritate me. But I did switch to fragrance free. Even PanOxyl seems to irritate. Today my armpits were burning after my shower, then I made it WAY worse by applying aloe vera gel. FEVER. and now I need to investigate if it was because I was rinsing off PanOxyl from my shoulders/chest and the water might have run through my underarms, or if it’s because I’m not allowed to touch/trim my armpits anymore ��

I dont like my under arm feeling wet. The Arm an Hammer unscented have a slight citrus smell. However it blows off after a while then you get that unscented. The fresh in Arm and hammer Is not bad. I prefer to use it at nights after my shower. Deodorants should never be used on dirty skin. Also not taking a shower and expecting a deodorant to work that is impossible.
Yea native is the best I use the unscented charcoal at Target. Good video G
I experimented with many deodorants and antiperspirants, and needless to say, it was an uphill battle. The product was either irritating on the skin, staining on my shirts or just dried up (caked) after a while and didn’t work properly. I finally found a Dove Men +Care antiperspirant which works like a charm. The fragrance isn’t overwhelming and there’s zero sweat after an entire day! I stumbled on this channel a week ago, and I’ve been binge watching ever since. Keep up the good work bruh, as a bachelor, it’s very engaging and fun. Subbed!

Two that I have had some success with are the Cannon & Duke activated charcoal brand (found it at CVS), and the Young Living (online/MLM company) deodorants. Seem to work reasonably well for me.
Style OG….Tom’s now has an unscented version and they changed their look. I hope this helps, as I use it myself.

I also like Arm & Hammer (scent: Fresh [Rosemary Lavender]). I’ve been using it for a couple of months, and it really works for me. I had previously tried Schmidt’s natural deodorant in rose + vanilla, and it did not work. The texture was rough and grainy, too.

I honestly tried to get on the natural deodorant ban wagon, I have 3 in my med chest right now, I went back to Mitchum, I have used this for years and the only one that really stops sweat and odor.
I know I will get a lot of defensive comments but people who wear natural deodorants smell. I have yet to meet someone who didn’t smell using natural deodorants. Maybe in the morning, you smelled great but by noon, I’m sorry but the funk comes out. You can’t smell it but others can. Trust me.

Thank you for this topic, I try to use the natural ones unless I am in a situation where I need an anti-perspirant…haven’t had good experiences with any natural deodorant because the mixture of your sweat with the natural deodorant just goes foul after a few hours.

You probably should have gotten a new tube of the Native before you wrote it off. Deodorant does expire and that tube has probably gone off by now.
Lume states that it can take several weeks to work. Which I’ve done. And it sucks. And apparently only works if you have brand new clothes. Which I can’t afford.

There are a handful of studies that seem to suggest aluminum could be a factor in the development of breast cancer. So if someone has a family history of breast cancer, I feel like natural deodorants without baking soda could give people peace of mind.

Lone is your fav but what’s your second and third fav for performance. I’m gonna be real. I stopped using deodorant. I have extremely sensitive skin and everything irritates it, and every type of deodorant makes me smell even worse?? In the last two years, I stopped shaving my armpits. And the craziest thing? I NEVER SMELL ANYMORE. So if some of you are experiencing issues with all types of deodorant, I recommend trying going deodorant free and no shaving. There’s a small adjustment period, but just rinse throughout the day here and there and see eventually what you’re results are.

I don’t believe that aluminum causes harm to health but I notice a stinging in my armpits when I use antiperspirant. So I’ve been using natural deodorant for years. I find some brands work better than others. My body responds well to products that contain Shea butter. Not sure the reason for that. ��♀️ Toms of Maine deodorants are the worst (they do absolutely nothing for me), Native and Schmidt’s are my favorite. Schmidt’s can be found for relatively cheap at Marshall’s or TJ Maxx so that’s my usual go to.
I just went through this today! Tried TOMS. I was at work and all of the sudden I smelled a mix of baby powder with body ordor�� YUP, it ����was ����me! ���� Needless to say I wiped that crap off and I smelled better without deo ����♀️

Excellent video and on point I must say. I have the same exact feelings about Natural deoderants as you. They don’t quite cut it for me like Degree Antiperspirant does, but I do like the smell of Schmidts Bergamont and Lime though.
I’ve been using the arm and hammer one for a few months, but recently its been making me itch. I’m assuming its because of the baking soda.

I would go without deodorant altogether than use “natural deodorant” and would literally smell better.
I used to sweat a lot and get bad odor quickly when I was using regular aluminum deo. Since switching to aluminum free I can actually go 2 days without even wearing deodorant before I start to stink! Probably because i don’t sweat excessively like I used to. I also lightened my pits with pure lime juice diluted in water. So yea, natural worked for me.
I agree with the baking soda and ph tho. But many companies PH balance their natural deodorants.
There are several dozen natural deodorants without aluminum, baking soda or essential oils. Most of them are magnesium based

I’ve been using fragrance-free Tom’s of Maine deodorant for a decade it has never been irritating, I smell fine, and I can even skip some days without smelling! I did switch to antiperspirant for a minute a few years ago and found that if I didn’t apply it every single day I would really and truly stiiiiink. So I switched back. ��
I made some ‘natural’ deodorant for myself and the baking soda tore my skin apart! I wish I knew this before lool very painful and irritating. I tried schmidt’s lavender deodorant 2 years ago and it worked extremely well for me. I’d go to the gym and have absolutely zero BO. This comes from someone who’d get a smell in the morning after I sleep -_ But after 2 weeks of heaven I noticed the gradual itching and got to a point where I scratched my skin off and my armpits got all raw and the skin was weeping and smelled “off”. The dermatologist had to give me topical antibiotics and oral rash medication to treat it:/ i use nuud now which is a little messy but works for me! I go 3-4 days without reapplying and smells are kept at bay!
You don’t have to be a “health nut” to use natural deodorant. Your lymphatic system needs to drain and your armpits play a major role in this. Scientists are finding that deodorant could be playing a big role in the skyrocketing breast cancer cases. One doctor even said that some of the money donated to breast cancer awareness should be used for ad campaigns telling people not to wear antiperspirant.

Okay so I decided to try a natural deodorant because my armpits were shiny when I used aluminium deodorants, like catch the light and it would shine, and I really didn’t like that. So I was like I would like to see what I can do without aluminium and I’m no longer shiny. But I tried a natural deodorant that gave me CRAZY bad hyperpigmentation. It also didn’t work at all I learned when I tried another natural deo. which is working absolutely perfect for me and is fixing my hyperpigmentation because of its chemical exfoliation ingredients.

It’s hard to believe someone that makes money off of recommending chemicals that will one day be proven to not be healthy and maybe even damaging for our skin. I’m sure 100 years ago they’d think we’re super advanced. But 100 years later people will think we were crazy in this time period. And they’ll make documentaries about the things women put on their skin present day to make themselves look “youthful” and “beautiful”
I made the switch because I was using extra strength and still sweating through. But I was getting clogged pores which were sometimes painful. So I switched just to see what would happen. I found out that I get that end of the day BO smell way more on aluminum deodorants so the switch has been good for me. Sure I sweat a lot but I’ve grown to have subconscious fashion choices around this.
But boy you are totally right about the dermititis. Definitely learned that beast with “natural” deodorants so far switching to sensitive skin formulas has worked. But I’m way more aware of when I’m sweating a lot with no clothing to soak. Thanks for the info, love to learn!
Aw. I’m sad Lumé didn’t work for you. I love the stuff! I had to use it for about a week before it really started working, now I go 48 hours between applications. I’m totally stealing your silicone brush idea, though! Be glad you tried the unscented one. I got the trial package with 5 tubes (you had the unscented one from the package), the scents are very strong. I’m definitely going to use the stick form of it in the future.
I personally am not afraid of the so called “chemicals” this scheme of martketing like blame. I will say though I’d like to learn how to make one because I’m trying to focus on being less wasteful

But then I take a shower every morning… so I put it on in the morning after my shower.
I’ve been told by a real MD that sweating is one of the 4 areas of elimination in the body. Bowel, kidney via urine, breathe and sweating. That is why sweating is referred to as detoxing. Can you debunk that? Also blocking the sweat of the armpit is bad because of the large about of lymph nodes in the area. Can you debunk?

Summary: natural isn’t a regulated term, any product can claim it. Aluminum is safe and one of the most effective antiperspirants. To reduce clothing stains and irritation, use aluminum deodorants at night and rinse off residue in the morning. Skin is acidic, the armpit especially so making it more susceptible to pH changes and irritation like from hair removal. Bacteria produce smells from breaking down armpit sweat, aluminum trickles into sweat glands to plug them up. Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) has a high pH and disrupts the low pH skin needs to function properly. Some essential oils might be antibacterial but are highly irritating and might make smells worse when applied to armpits. Products can’t detox the skin. She recommends Panoxyl, and Vanicream.

So ironic that this just popped up in my timeline today. I personally like Schmidt’s but ran out and started using an alternate brand that I had on hand, which gave me nasty bumps (just in time for summer. Yay,) I too learned that baking soda may be the culprit, so just today I ordered the Schmidt’s Sensitive (no B.S. ��) in the tee tree oil scent, being that TT oil is anti-bacterial and also good at clearing up fungal infections. Fingers crossed that it is the “One” for me.

I just found you today while searching about beauty counter and the hype with that. I love this video. I have used tons of deodorants and seem to react to EVERYTHING. I did find one by milk and honey that is baking soda free, the scent is good. Its difficult to wear in the summer with tanks but otherwise its wonderful. I was on the fence about the Primally Pure deodorant options since I do seem to have a pretty good reaction to baking soda even if it is aluminium free.
I got an allergic reaction to aluminum slowly over time I have no idea why!! But once I realized the rashes I got in my armpits were from my deodorant I got one without aluminum. I jumped into the natural one called toms but it was GARBAGE gave me an even worse rash. The ONLY thing that works for me very effectively is the arm and hammer naturals without allium or paraba a in the scent fresh. It’s amazing!!!

Crystal made me smell so bad. Native was good until my armpits starting itching and burning. All of the natural deodorants did that except the brand I currently use. I never thought I would find a deodorant I wasn’t allergic to or irritates my skin.

I will say that even the same deodorant, on the same person, on different pits may work differently. My right pit always stinks worse than my left.

The ingredients are Baking Soda, Coconut Oil, Corn starch, tea tree oil and either Lemongrass or Eucalyptus oil. When I first made it, I was like, this is NOT going to work. Hell, I played bball for about 3 hours and still couldn’t smell anything.. I was convinced at that point. Take care fellas!

I only use LUME deodorant and they are not available at the store! I swear by this and you won’t really stink! I’ve tried TOM and other brands and after like 4hrs or so, I still stink! This brand I swear by, tried and tested in GEORGIA HEAT! This is all NATURAL, NO ALUMINUM AND NO BAKING SODA that can cause armpit RASH!

Great video…Ive been using Native for a few years. I’ve tried Tom’s which is good also but Native wins out. I field tested Native while in vacation in St Petersburg Fla to see if it could state up in the heat. My whole body was dripping sweat except for my underarms!
My biology professor said that swollen axillary (armpit) lymph nodes are a sign you’re not washing your armpits correctly in the shower. She said you’re supposed to gently exfoliate old built-up deodorant out of your armpit before you reapply a fresh layer outta the shower.
Otherwise, the layers cake into your pores & clog the ducts.
Not sure if she was right, but i do gently scrape my pits with my fingernails (gross, I know) in the shower & remove gunks if deodorant from earlier daily. So far, it’s been working for me. Hope I’m not doing more harm than good ��
I sweat a lot and what I found is that if I only use deodorant and not a anti-perspirant I don’t sweat nearly as much. It’s weird

I don’t feel Lume got a fair shake. It comes in another application form and several scents including unscented plus you didnt see the video. The tube works great if you have stinky feet or inner theigh issues. They also have a line of natural soaps now to.

I use a natural deodorant and not an antiperspirant because you sweat to release toxins from the body, and I find that after a detox period, I never smell bad using a natural deodorant and then I don’t have to switch deodorant every few months

I fully agree with this! I jumped on the natural deodorant bandwagon a couple of years ago. The one I was using had baking soda in it as an active ingredient, along with essential oils. I ended up with a rash in both armpits, which developed into a staph infection and an abscess that needed to be drained. It was incredibly painful and I also developed systemic effects from it, requiring oral antibiotic treatment. No bueno! Another thing I noticed when using it was that the baking soda seemed to create a layer that would trap moisture underneath. My armpits felt constantly wet, but when I touched the area the paste felt dry. It was awful. So definitely avoid!
That Myro deo also leaked all over after I had it for like a month? It was so annoying I had to put it away and stop using it. Melted and leaked out of the bottle all over the countertop and lid

I dont think the labelling is a big deal. Sometimes in order to use earth friendly or organic options the durability is compromised.
Wonderful Video how long do you use them to provide a review? I’ve seen some dryland wild reviews on their website, people seem to love it. I believe we all Sweat differently and Vary in Odour levels so all types of natural deodorant (well at least most) may not work on you but will work great on someone else.

Great reviews! Unfortunatley the one I use isnt covered in your review. Desert Essesnce w/ Tea Tree Oil and (other scents like lavender etc). Another one I’ve tried is Noosa Basics, from Austrailia they have a variety of deodorants that are all natural as well and I beileve organic. All have worked well. I do have a question that you or anyone watching the review. Does anyone know why roll on deodorants are for the most part scarce in the U.S.? (Although not organic at all the Dove Men’s line in roll on deodorant/antiperspirant work the best. In roll on form, but I found that in Central America is where I can pick them up)….anyway sorry for the rambling on OG’s page…. I actually started using natural deodorant maybe like 5 years ago and before that never had a problem with my underarm skin. Never had a rash or any type of reaction. In the beginning I made my own deodorant with like three ingredients baking soda and coconut oil I can’t remember the last one, but I’ve tried schmidt’s and native and both have made my skin extremely irritated. I have the same problem especially during the winter, needs to wear 2 kinds of natural depdorant, I stay away from using other kinds that contain alluminum etc because we have a history of breast cancer. I use Crystal the liquid then the rock. Takes a little time but works
Lume works for me for quite a long time and yes I could often get 72 hours out of it. But for some reason it stopped working and now I can’t even get a full day out of it.
Have you tried Type A? I get 48 hours out of it in 80F+ weather. I used it for 3 months and it was perfect (the closest thing I’ve used to conventional deodorant and I live in the tropics) then it suddenly started to destroy my pits (maybe the baking soda???) now I use it after specially moisturizing my underarms with a heavy moisturizer and it’s fine. Also please try MagSol which is Magnesium based (I think it works best on top of a heavy moisturizer) but I’d love to know what you think of it

I use native in the lavender and rose native (which is that botanical lavender) and when I started using it I definitely had to reapply it occasionally.
When I used aluminum deodorants I noticed Id get pain in my underarm lymph node. If enough people have adverse effects from the aluminum wouldnt it be wise to use something more natural? I prefer natural magnesium deodorant. It works fine.

The aluminum used in deodorant is NOT the natural organic aluminum that’s in the earths crust. Just like the fluoride used in toothpaste (and drinking water) is not the fluoride related to calcium! These are toxic man made metals, most likely made in Chinese laboratories. The fluoride that they dump into our drinking water is actually an aluminum waste by-product.
I respect your education but also realize that big pharma (who make the medical text books doctors learn from) and huge corporations have most Doctors blindly believing in their science. Their science is corrupt. Science is the new religion, to the point people will put their own logic aside and blindly believe anyone with a white coat on.
You really hit sooo many of the natural deodorants I’ve tried over the years! I had a lot of the same reactions that you did and have been using Primally pure for years. Definitely my favorite deodorant of all time (except I don’t care for the geranium scent). I just wish it came in more sustainable packaging.

Honestly I thought it was just me with the native deodorant… I was using it for about a month and now I feel like it’s not working… or maybe it’s just that it works better when I have a little hair under my arms because it then the product has something to stick to. I tried Lume (but I didn’t like that you’re supposed to rub it in, even with the stick dispenser and wash your clothes with Persil), salt Crystal deodorant, Tom’s, currently on Native, but I’d be curious to try Underarmed! I tend to limit my options to unscented because I have sensitive skin but this was very informative!
Best natural deodorant is Schmidt’s imo. I use either schmidt’s or dove clean comfort for deodorant in the daytime. Before i go to bed i use certain dri antiperspirant. This routine works great for me!
Lume is terrible! I can smell myself at the end of the day EVERYDAY and I work at a bank. Sooooo strenuous *sarcasm*.
One company to try: Pretty Frank. All natural deodorants made with baking soda always make me break out but Pretty Frank has several different formulas made with baking soda, arrowroot or charcoal so you can choose the best option for you. Bonus: they also have sprays. Definitely check them out. After trying like a billion different kinds, their zinc arrowroot formulas don’t make me break out and they work too.

I’ve been using Type A for the last 3-4 months and it took a long time for my body to adapt to it. Only now is it really giving me that full day coverage. I have the purple scent which is fine for me. Honestly, not sure if I would purchase again. I’m only still using it bc I have it and I don’t want to use something else until I finish. I don’t use/wear deodorants because I am scared of getting cancer (we have lymph nodes around that area). But I have heard good reviews about NATIVE so if I ever need one, I will for sure purchase this! Btw, love your hair and your shirt!
I’ve been using little seed farm for a year and it is amazing.
The last one I tried was the Lume deodorant stick, which I was really hoping would work. The Lume worked for 72 hrs for me, however after a while I did get an underarm rash so it didn’t work for me.

I use lume and it’s deff been trial and error to get it right. And they talk a lot on their website about your clothing. And it’s weird, sometimes at the end of the day my pits won’t smell, but the pits of my shirt will. ¯\ _(ツ)_/¯

I only wear deodorant if I absolutely NEED to and then I use a natural deodorant mainly for heavy exercise or special occasions. I’ve never had any reactions or negative effects and I have fairly sensitive skin. I do really like you giving us all the science to explore so we aren’t as close minded. Before this video the thought of promoting standard deodorant for me at least was mind boggling lol.

I tried natural deodorant recently because I found that aluminum has been linked (not concretely) to and increase estrogen levels. I have what I believe is called gynecomastia, which is basically the growth of breast tissue in men caused by an imbalance between estrogen and testosterone. This caused me to start working out more and lead me to researching deodorant. This video really helped clear up a lot of questions, some of which I didn’t even know I had.

Lovvvveeeee Lone! From Memphis, TN, go to school in Barbados and I’m a sweater. I definitely had to get over sweating. I’ve used Arm & Hammer (it worked for a few months then I noticed it started to burn me) and I’ve used Crystal (didn’t work especially in warm environments plus I’m not a fan of reapplying)

Unfortunately so far my son’s Arm and & Hammer has been the best working one for me and I’ve tried a ton. No staining on my shirts and after a full day no smell. I’m sad because I loved Tom’s powder fresh (the only powder fresh I found to smell good) but it has recycled aluminum. Native Jasmine and cedar smells great, but I don’t after 2 hours. I don’t even smell like normal body order, it’s a weird gross sweet smell. I wish arm and Hammer had a better variety of scents since I don’t love what they offer but it’s $1.96 or less and works great for a very sweaty 10 year old boy and an active 32 year old women.

Mmmm I am still not sold. Yes aluminum is “natural” meaning it’s a natural element but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s safe for our bodies to absorb it. Mercury is natural as well but we dont recommend you slather it on your skin. Idk maybe I am missing the point lol. I love Native, it works very well for the most part.

Try Lume, it’s incredible. Really works and has no baking soda. I don’t know how they do it but it keeps the bo away all day! I don’t like that I have to put it on with my hands but I’ve gotten used to it.
I have never tried natural deodorant because I usually use antiperspirant, I have been using Arm and Hammer for a long time and it always works for me. The deodorant that I used for years as a child and as a adult was Mum cream deodorant but they stopped making it. As always much respect for the information and Salute OG ��
I’ve been trying out the Myro brand (bergamot and lavender scent). I really like this one. Wasn’t sure at first bc it’s moist going on which also drives me nuts but it worked well for me. I haven’t tried too many natural deodorants; only Native (I didn’t like that one either) and Oyin Handmade’s Funk Butter (black-owned business btw) so I don’t have much to compare Myro to so I’d be curious what you thought.
Native worked the best for me until I got a rash. All of the natural deodorants I’ve tried said from the arm and hammer have given me rashes.
I heard Desetin or Zinc Oxide works well too if you want to go aluminum free.
I like using natural deodorant but I hate having to reapply during the day.
There’s no conflicting research about aluminum. Like everything, sometimes tests show risks but with aluminum they’re super inconsistent and incredibly low.

I use a mixture of surgical alcohol and bay rum mixed in a small spray bottle. It works for me. I am 60 years old and lives in Barbados.
Brittany! Mix baking soda with dish soap & hydrogen peroxide into a paste and scrub it into your tops with pit stains (I used a spare tooth brush) let sit for 30min-1hr and wash like normal. this saved tops for me that I thought we ruined!!!
This has been so informative for me. I don’t have hyperhydrosis but I do get very sweaty armpits most days and try to avoid wearing sleeves to avoid gross sodden pits. I have tried different natural deodorants over the years and always try to avoid perfumed ones because I am prone to eczema. It never occurred to me that a perfumed one would be enough to completely overpower any sweat scent! Hallease what scent of Lone’s would you recommend? OR is their unscented one enough?

One reason why some people don’t do well with Native is because of the use of baking soda. It has a high pH which can be irritating. Not to mention bacteria also grows best in an alkaline (basic) environment so it can cause more stench..

Be careful of skin dermatitis. Many brands cause itching. Dove is the best!
I have high maintenance pits. I use the crystal liquid straight out of the shower, let it dry and then top it with Native in the mineral scent.

Im so glad the winner was baking soda free, definitely want to try it out! Its been so hard to find a sensitive skin formula that actually helps with odor. The Native sensitive “works” but i have to reapply every 3-4 hours and during a busy work day its just not always possible. I’d love to see a video on the best natural toothpaste and mouthwash. I tested a few and just felt like my teeth were getting weak and had to switch back to regular.
Oh that’s why my hubby smelled so awful after using one of the natural deodorants (that you see their ads a million times on YT nowadays)! Like it made him smell 10 times worse than wearing nothing! And I still get hit by that brand when I’m watching this video!

I love Schmidts Fragrance Free. The only issue I have, its hard to put on. They say to let sit under your arm for a few seconds then apply. I find it works best if I take cap off while showering, it’ll soften up and make application go on smooth. I’ll try Native but for me Tom’s gets a 4 out of 10.

Got Lume and Native ads before this lol so on brand. I’ve been using Crystal for a couple months and there’s only been a few times that they didnt work but great to know of these others to see about trying them.
I have been using the Schmidts rose vanilla and surprisingly really like it. Works for me. But everyone’s body chemistry is different and skin sensitivities etc. But it took a very long time of trying multiple brands before I found something that worked. And also that did not cost over 20$.! Some of them can be expensive! Great Info! Take care!

i will say cristal rock is the best of them all.No smell and only one ingridient mineral salt.It works better in the summer in my opinion but im going on a vacation to the dominican republic.I will tested better overthere plus my girl will tell me if it fails jajajajaj.Very nice video but the ingridients on some of this like fragrance are not natural at all

What you eat also plays a big role in how you smell. The more processed content you ingest the worst you will smell. Try juicing for a while and you will see how much less stinkier your body gets overall.
3:51 i dont get how a DEODORANT can be unscented. I get how an ANTI PERSPERENT can be unscented but like… deodorants, by definition are supposed to conceal an unpleasant scent… how can smthg unscented do that?

I’ve had a good experience with Crystal deodorant. Particularly the roll on version. One drawback is showering and keeping the correct PH is key to make it work. It has no scent but generally keeps you sweating less but with little to no scent. Leaves no stains in my experience.
I make my own from baking soda and coconut oil only 50/50 mix. Works for days!

My “natural” deodorant works wonderful for me. I don’t smell and have no irritation. With the traditional ones I often felt smelly. The active ingredient in my current deo is zinc oxide

The aluminium based ones are anti-perspirants. The natural ones generally aren’t.
ive had nothing but positive expierences with the natrual deodorant i use (its called Humble) and i think most people love it because of the low waste/zero waste packaging

I have tested SO many and the only one that works for me is the Schmidt’s natural sensitive skin! I am allergic to baking soda so that eliminates so many. It goes on dry which is a must for me
Have you ever tried the solid crystal block that you have to get wet before applying? I also have hyperhydrosis and I’ve found that to be the best option for me! Of course you have to apply on clean pits, which can be kind of annoying, but I just try to apply after my shower and then I’m pretty fresh smelling for like 24 hours, it’s amazing.
Thanks for posting! My main problem with the deodorants is the plastic packaging! I’m trying to minimise/cut out plastics from my life, so the packaging is super important even if I have to reapply every so often. The smell is an obvious priority, but the packaging is super important. This video has helped in the search a lot, cheers!:)

Wow! This video is gloom and doom. Has anyone actually put regular deodorant on your fingers? Try it! It’s hard to take off hour fingers so you could imagine after a long time of using how it can clog your armpits. I recently stated making my own deodorant and used baking soda and 3 essential oils as the ingredients. It keeps me dry, smelling good and it doesn’t clog my pore under my armpits, and it washes off easily and I have detox my armpits so it works. I don’t know about this video and all the misinformation. There has to be something with aluminum because a lot of deodorant don’t have it anymore. Do your research people!

I’m sensitive to baking soda and love the charcoal magnesium deodorant from Primal Pit Paste! I can go all day in the super hot and humid climate in New Orleans and not have to reapply. Highly recommend trying it out!
