You’re not going to consume 1 cup of this, me try me!! how about two cups
I’m adding nuts to my diet to hopefully help reduce my blood pressure also.
I’m puzzled by one fact you say that we should stay away from Cashew nuts but in other videos you say that we should strive to eat foods with low Glycemic Load Cashew has a Clycemic load of only 3 which is very low. Would you care to elaborate on why we should not eat Cashew nuts, when it’s Clycemic Load is only 3?
Very interesting video Dr. Berg! Thanks. Just started to watch ALL of your videos as I’ve been navigating between Whole30 and Keto (these two has become my new nutritional mantra) and ended up in this topic. It’s interesting how on Whole30 they suggest to limit Walnuts consumption and put Cashews as the best choices. I understand Keto encourages to decrease carbs and increase fat consumption. However, it is also important to remember that PUFAs (omega3 -omega-6) balance is important to avoid inflammation and other conditions. Whether people consume Cashews and want to switch to the top5 nuts listed here, it’s relevant to understand the main nutritional contribution of the nuts. I’m even tempted to start buying pecans/brazil nuts again! And for what I learnt, peanuts are legumes which may not be a great source of food. Thank you for your vids!
An attention-grabbing discussion is price comment. I believe that you should write more on this topic, it wont be a taboo subject but generally persons are not sufficient to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers
After some questionable(!) scientific research, I found Almonds to the healthiest, with walnuts in 3rd place. I stand by my findings, see my channel for the details. I don’t want to argue with the Doctor, but he’s a little off.
Message for European people: In European countries it’s already the net carbs on the packs so don’t worry
Thank you for this videoI would like specific information about the fat in nutsIt’s well known that peanuts are very high in omega-6 fatsthat walnuts contain good amounts of omega-3coconut has saturated fat. I was hoping you could specify the types of fat that exist in Pecans. The term high in fat is not specific enough. Thanks

Hello Dr Berg! And peanuts??? Not peanut butter, only peanut?
The reason cashews aren’t good for you. They don’t digestion. Told my sister many times not to eat them.
ya so what is a serving? I could eat a cut of brazil nuts in a hot minute
I know I can eat a whole cup of cashews, or walnuts, or pistachios, or almonds pretty easily.
So why can’t Planters Peanuts offer a can of Pecans at the store? We got to buy some no name brand (from Cali) in a small bag for $9.99
Used your video in a reply to my video

Thanks for the help
I happen to be eating a cup of pine and macadamia nuts currently
Phytic acid and omega6 are other important factors that will change this ranking a lot
According to some studies, nuts don’t make us gain weight. Check doctor Greger’s clip.

Pecans are man made, I’ll stick with what God made, walnuts.
I had this recent craze about pecans( I do consume around a cup a day) , yet it makes me feel much more full than any other foods.
Instead of saying pecans contain “healthy fats”why not be specific? You’re talking down to the viewer by not doing so. Are they mono-unsaturated fats? are they omega-3 fats? are the omega 6? or saturated? Please don’t categorize me as a weirdo for taking an interest in this. That is the reason I’ve watched this videoand it’s not there.
Can Buchanania lanzan seeds known as chironji in India be eaten on keto
Wrong. The type of fat matters. Some of the nuts you are recommending are too high in omega 6 and anti-nutrients that interfere with the absorption of other nutrients. Macadamia nuts have the best lipid profile. Do some research before you give dietary advice!
We don’t have PEEkans where I live but we have pihKAHNS. Will they work?
Pistachio, interestingly, has a high amount of potassium and very low sodium
Just read that 2 oz of walnuts in a study suppressed breast cancer tumors in a short time of women who were having biopsies. Pretty crazy. Nuts really do some to have some really great qualities.
I’m so glad that Pecans are at the top of the list! I live Pecans on my salad!
Are the Pistachios really high in omega 6s (inflammation)? I have compared their omega 3s vs omega 6s and it doesn’t look good. I hope i am wrong here. Great video. Thanks
Why is this recommended to me? It’s no nut november, I can’t have any nut!
Probably Brazil Nuts because when you weigh in the carb vs. fat grams but Brazil not also has a high value as far as maintaining a healthy functioning thyroid for both men and women. Most men don’t think about thyroid but especially on a keto diet you need to make sure your keeping everything regulated and for women who are more prone to thyroid issue this would be a preferable but for keto from some studies and video references I see
GREAT VIDEO, PECANS BAR FAR HEALTHIEST FOR HEART. Only thing is PRICE, but worth it!!
The biggest problem that I find with Brazil nuts is that the mold toxins are very high, it’s really hard to find clean Brazil nuts.
Dr Berg, what is a “cup”? Means nothing to the billions of people outside USA. You use grams, which is a metric measure, could you think of all your viewers outside of the USA and translate cup into metric equivalent when you use it?
WT*? Your not gonna eat a whole cup. That sentence made me feel something… why not? Im like am i the only one that does it? Should i be concerned about it? Now i jave to google to see if eating nore yhan a cup of nuts per day is bad or something…
If he saying that peanuts are healthy i don’t want to listen him, he is an idiot
Just eat regular butter. No carbs high fat. Put it on everything.
DR WHAT are the benefits of eating walnuts,almonds…..soaked overnight.

Thank you for that list… I just have one question… what’s the amount of nuts that you are basing you are breakdown on…… 1 nut or a cup of nuts or what?
Out of all those nuts. Doesn’t Pistachios have the most nutrition? Great video
This video claims that nuts are very risky for your arteries. Let us know What you think docter Berg. https://youtu.be/zkC0-sXruM8

Wow Dr Berg, for the last week my weight increased and then I looked at what was elevating my blood glucose… the nuts! I’ve now stopped picking at nuts after dinner and now if I do eat nuts I measure the amount I eat. This is a really valuable video. Thank you.
This is very informative, unfortunately only peanuts are readily available in my country.
I live in West Africa where they grow cashews and peanuts. All the others are imported and really expensive. I do but almonds because he mentions them a lot in other videos but I’ll switch to walnuts which are a little cheaper.
While temporarily staying with my sister, for the first time in my life I literally ate them as they fell from the trees and I have to say they worked miracles with my tummy or intestines which Was my weakness. I tried everything to no avail before. I became really regular and I have never been so excited in my life besides vinegar and magnesium chloride. To me, the pecan resembles the brain so I am sure it did my brain good too. I ate at least 6 once or twice a day. I studied colon hydrotherapy
