Aside from almond tapioca can you suggest gliten free flours can i use coconut flour?
awesome! it’s rare that a gf product would win over a g full product! thanks!
How much flour and coconut milk need to make the bread?
thank you for taking the time to review food for Celiacs, long time fan of your movies, nice to view content I can enjoy.!
Try the new Betty Crocker Mac n’ Cheese! I don’t know if they have it in Minnesota, but at my local Safeway they had Pizza flavor and Grilled Cheese flavor.
I love u Gemma you are my sweetheart. Whenever I see your video it make me happy.
lol james, you may be good at tasting, but you have like no experience in the kitchen at all. the cookies are way overcooked
Gluten is a protein formed in wheat dough which is what makes wheat bread so resilient. Some people are gluten intolerant (celiac disease) and some people also have wheat allergies and so they eat gluten-free diets. Some people just eat gluten-free because it’s trendy and they think it’s healthier for some reason.
I’m unclear on the amount of time that the batter needs to rest. Any insight?
Wow! Do you think it the brown sugar content that helped caramelize the cookie as you described it? It’s top of the ingredients list after all…
Hi Bold Bakers! Olivia’s Gluten Free Flatbread is a sight and taste to behold — perfect for any occasion. Get her written recipe here! http://bit.ly/GlutenFreeFlatbreads
Try Sonic’s new pretzel dogs. They have one topped with nacho cheese and… you guessed it, BACON:)
Wow, so helpful, need gluten free pizza? Gluten free flour, need vegan chocolate? Vegan chocolate, how fucking helpful
I would add a pinch of Celtic Sea salt in there. Also, I heard that Trader Joe’s has good canned coconut milk without the gums. I will have to check that out next time I’m at Trader Joe’s. Anybody know about the coconut milk at Trader Joe’s in the can?
This comment is for bigger Bolder baking if I am allergic to Coconut so what else can I use to make that three ingredient flatbread
Are you using cassava flour or tapioca starch as there is a difference there. Cassava flour as far as I know is a dried and powdered cassava root and that’s was your explanation and the tapioca starch is derived differently and it’s a different ingredient. Which are you using?
There are a lot of versions of coconut milk available these days sweet/ unsweetened or blended with other types of milk. Is the type of milk you use interchangeable like the type of oil you choose?
Also have you tried different flours for this recipe? I’m thinking garbanzo flour might be a good option here. Love flatbread so thank you for sharing this
Tapioca starch is practically all carbs and very little protein. So this recipe is not suitable for keto. Is there a substitute of starch?
They look like the parathas my mum gets from the store crossed with a crepe
Very cool. I didn’t even know that Pillsbury had a GF cookie dough.
OMG, they posted this video on my birthday and I’m gluten-free! Goodful knows I need a good all-purpose gluten-free dough ^_^ Lovely
This is perfect for me! I have celiac disease and I love gluten free recipes!
I hate these “gluten free recipes” if all you’re going to do is replace “flour” with “gluten free flour” then why can’t a just substitute gluten free flour in my own recipe? These recipes aren’t special if all they do is replace the normal thing with something that says gluten free in it. It’s like making dairy free cupcakes using “non dairy” milk, how about you come up worth something unique or a substitute because everyone can just replace flour
Can I substitute cassava flour for the almond flour in this recipe?
You know how cake is fluffy and bread is heavy and dense? Gluten is a protein which, when you “activate” it(which you do by mixing your dough a lot), makes the bread more dense. Some people have digestive issues with it.
Hi love alll your videos..I’m glad to see glutin free recipes…i hope that you will make more of these GF recipes
I don’t agree with Liv’s claim that avoiding gluten is part of a “clean” diet. There is no harm in gluten unless you have Celiac’s Disease, full stop. The popular claim that people with autoimmune diseases should avoid it as well has been disproven by several recent studies. The latest large study on rheumatoid arthritis and diet found that while symptoms improved on a gluten free diet, they also improved on a mediterranean diet full of pasta and bread, and three other high gluten diets. The researchers found that it was really the high sugar high saturated fat processed rubbish that people had been eating before that made their symptoms worse, not gluten. The alternative grains and starches that the no-gluten-mafia promote often contribute to the destruction of rainforests and poverty of the native population. And as others have pointed out, the recipe in this video will lead to unhealthy blood sugar spikes. It may be a delicious treat, but it is not part of a “clean” diet as Liv claims.
Question.….can you freeze them once they are made?? Love all of your vlogs!
“but i uh… believe in freedom” bahaha youre awesome james!
Gemma your recipes all are amazing
And you got Beautiful name of your Channel
I love that
And I’m glad to know that new things are coming soon
Hope for best
And best of luck
Mine have Cooking Channel too!!
My coconut milk is looks much thicker, its chinise, is this what your using?
In the context of eating raw cookie dough…
“I believe in freedom” = “I don’t believe in food safety”.
I salute you!
Flat breads are supposed to be thin. In the video it looks like the flatbread is a centimeter thick
Um sorry but stooge81 water doesn’t have gluten jus wanted to point that out
I made these today and can i say..oh my goodness. So freaking delicious. My batter was not nearly as watery as hers. So the shape is not as consistent or round….but LORD these things are delicious.
Is this the coconut milk that comes in a can? Or the thin one that you would use for your coffe?
Oh man, this is amazing! I’ve loved Olivia since I saw her on MasterChef and to see her working with Gemma is amazing! Great work Liv, you are so talented and beautiful! And thank you Gemma for giving her the time to shine!
This is wickedly delicious bread and gluten free, wow! Chapeau kido…
A squeeze of lime and cilantro instead of parsley…and I’m all in.
Gemma I live in Derry Northern Ireland, where can I get tapioca that is used in this recipe?? God bless you every day doll. Xxx
Both of my sisters have Celiac, so I’ve had to experiment with different gluten free options for holidays. What I’ve found is that it’s best if you don’t attempt to compare the gluten free version of something to the gluten filled version. In this case (with the Pillsbury cookies) it worked out fine, but generally I liked things a lot better when I didn’t think about what was “missing” and just enjoyed the flavors of that particular food. Just a thought for future videos. Keep up the good work!
Most gluten free flour is disgusting. Haven’t found a decent substitute that isn’t gritty or weird tasting yet.
yes. now i can ACTUALLY eat stuff needing dough! it’s been 2 years now since i found out i can’t have gluten, and i’ve seen videos where you need dough, just left and gave up on making it. thank you so much for this recipie!
I just watched your video comparing the Pillsbury GF cookie dough to their gluten counterpart. We have a CERTIFIED GF chocolate chip cookie dough (not sure if Pillsbury is actually a certified GF product) that is sold in 2.0 ounce portions (12 portions total/box). We want to know if you would taste test our dough compared with the Pillsbury GF dough?? Thanks!
Do a video without talking with your hands! I bet you cant do it!
This looks awsome. Can I substitute the tapioca starch with something else, for example potato starch?
my local baker does fantastic gluten free choc chip cookies..there might be quinoa flour in it
Every single gluten free flour blend acts differently, without a brand name or recipe this is useless.
A butcher near my work was selling bacon snickerdoodles. True story.
Just can’t help feeling that this just, ohhh, I don’t know…missing something. I GOT IT!!! It’s BACON!!! }:-)
I’m going to have to try these. I tied Keto type breads before, and most were just scrambled eggs. I didn’t enjoy them.
This recipe, being egg free, looks promising.
Wow gemma…This is amazing…And you are looking so pretty…. Lots of love
You can use just tapioca without anything and it becomes a pancake. This way you made tastes better tho
Bigger Bolder Baking, love ur videos! I have tried your microwave cake before it worked like a charm
I just made these, and I love them.
I was skeptical when I first saw this recipe. I tried several low carb bread recipes when I tried going Keto. Most were basically scrambled eggs.
I made a wrap with fresh spinach, cheddar, and deli ham. It was very satisfying. Each bite was like a more traditional bread.
There was a nice chewy texture, and it held together. I also have a big appetite, so I stuffed it the max. Delicious.
This recipe is spot on!!!! It’s probably a little higher in carbs than scrambled eggs Keto bread, and I’m fine with that.
I also have a diabetic family member that will appreciate this recipe.
The recipe is a piece of cake to follow. A bowl, whisk, and measuring cup are all you need. That makes this super convenient too.
I did add a quarter teaspoon of salt, some garlic powder, onion powder, and a cup of shredded cheddar.
My first one was wonky, and that was my fault. I’m impatient. I knew my skillet needed a couple more minutes to get up to temperature.
My batter seemed a little thick. I added four tablespoons of almond milk to thin it out. It was just like making crepes after that.
My skillet is nonstick, and I made some with ghee in the pan, and some without. I prefer without, but both are delicious.
This recipe is definitely versatile. You can do wraps, pizza crust, or crepes.
This really is a fantastic alternative.
The glutenfree flour blend you use, has it an extra binding agent to it already?
Hello, I’d like to make this GF recipe for my daughter, only thing is that she’s also allergic to nuts, can I sub coconut flour for the almond as she’s good with coconut?
It’s kind of funny when the substitute is better than the thing itself. Some years back I discovered that many people, given a taste of each, prefer Amy’s soy mac n’ cheese better than their regular mac n’ cheese.
I wonder how many other substitutes are better than the original? Swapping parsley for basil in pesto is a homemade substitute that I prefer over the original.
I tried this recipe but mine was a disaster! My flat bread was sticky and when I flipped it broke in pieces, what am I doing wrong?
Can you use regular milk? There is a coconut allergy in my family.
Any suggestions for other types of GF Flour? I’m allergic to nuts.
why is the finished product not anything like the picture posted??
I have always loved your channel Gemma..but I could not wait for Olivia to post videos as well..her banana bread has been a staple in my house..thank you! ❤️
gluten is delicious. you noobs need to stop avoiding it unless you have celiac’s disease (and 100% guaranteed you don’t)
Can the almond flour be substituted with coconut flour? I’m allergic to nuts.
Yep this looks like I could eat it unlike others I’ve tried. I really try to stay extremely low carb and have a lot of food allergies Who’s the champions on YouTube for that kind of diet?
“Both the tubes say don’t eat this dough, but I believe in freedom so I’m going to eat this dough”
Tapioca flour is NOT good for a low carb or ketogenic diet. It spikes your blood sugar a lot. It’s gluten free and delicious, I may add, but certainly not good for blood sugar.
Looks a lot easier to make than naan, which is pretty darn easy. Gotta give it a try.
thanks for this review, james.
and as far as my dietary lifestyle choices? i’ll go gluten-free when “they” can finally produce a gluten-free water.
Uh, you’re not supposed to eat raw cookie dough… It’s good, but you’re not supposed to eat it raw…
Gluten free products are becoming more popular because people are becoming more aware about how large a population are allergic or intolerant of gluten. Similar to how dairy free products are more and more available as time goes by.
Hey James! I have a feeling you’ve done this before but if you haven’t can you do frozen pizzas? I always eat them and I want to know which is the best. Thanks!
The absence of gluten or more specifically wheat flour, lets more of the ingredients to show. So I’ve noticed that gluten free products are more flavorful and less sweet than their glutinous counterparts.
I was so excited to try these but mine were a total fail they were too sticky and gooey like. Couldn’t flip them and they burned but still looked under cooked in the middle
Oh my gosh I have missed flatbread thank you!
How long would these last?
can i replace tapioca starch with arrow root ihave a lot here.
why do you do so many gluten free reviews? Not that I mind but you have a tendency to do more then your average “taster”
I really liked this new part of the channel, I would like it more if it was with more accessible/common ingredients
If u work steam cassava enough, it becomes rubbery like gluten, r u sure tapioca is gluten free?
I want a gluten-free bread that has the same texture as a regular loaf. I don’t think this is it, but I may try it.
Hi There.. great to see your boys helping out during this video.. but it seemed sad that you only allowed your oldest to help and be filmed. I felt sorry for your middle boy.
I thought you only uploaded on monday, wednesday, and friday?
Hi everyone! Thank you for this receipe! Is there a substitute for tapioca starch?
Has anyone tried making it? I’ve tried 3 times and it turned out horrible! What am I doing wrong?
Love this series!!! Thanks for giving Liv her own series to showcase her amazing recipes!!
Hi Gemma and Olivia! I am LOVING these recipes! Can I add chives and garlic to the batter? Thanks so much and keep them coming!!!
Gluten is stretchy. It traps the gas produced by yeast and forms little bubbles and that’s what makes dough rise. It’s very nifty a textural thing. If you have celiac disease, you get an auto-immune reaction that destroys the villi in your intestines (among other things). It can kill you. Nowadays some people are choosing gluten-free diets, but some people have celiac or allergies and they don’t have a choice.
Lol can everyone in the comments just chill?. if u wanna know 4-ingredient gluten free dough recipes so bad, then just google it.
Notice how they avoid showing the texture of the stuff made. Usually they show a clip of something being split in half or cracked open, but there was none of that here. Probably has the texture of cardboard.
And yeah, if this were actually made for people who cannot eat gluten, they would have been more specific with the type of flour
I made this using different flours but grilling afterword to get a nice crunch. These were great with baba ganoush.
Nice video and really Great recipe it looks so yummy, I using recipes from a book that really helped me with my gluten allergy, check it out on my YouTube channel!
So yeah, not 4 ingredients since you used an unknown flour blend… Kinda defeats the title and purpose of the video
I’d be willing to try these, spongy as they seem, but seasoning is conspicuously missing. What bread recipe doesn’t include any salt? Could have at least salted the avocado and tomatoes.
Thank you Gemma for a gluten free recipe! I sometimes get frustrated or sad that I can’t enjoy foods like others without gluten/ wheat issues!
Can’t wait to make it! Thanks Liv for the recipe. It looks amazing
james I have been gluten intolerant for 10 years and you would cringe and throw up from some of the stuff back in the day and not to mention really expensive. Now its main stream fair and getting more attention.
I have celiac disease as well so I am always looking for new recipes. I think I will try this banana bread recipe soon. Thank you
i always see gluten free products but i really dont know what gluten is. what is it fat? someone explain please
Can everyone in the comments just chill? This person tried very hard to make a video so can we please keep the negative stuff to ourselves and encourage them instead? If you don’t like this recipe, write one yourself. Yes, fine, not everybody likes it, but why share it and add negativity? Good job to whoever made this video.
What can you replace the yogurt with? what is a non-dairy substitute that isn’t soy, or almond/nut milk?
Could you please make a gluten-free donut recipe that’s Donuts are actually fluffy please
It seems that the taste of gluten free products are getting much better. I remember a few years ago they tasted terrible.
YUM! I wonder if this would work with almond or coconut flour?
