I really love this Motiva, and have been amazed that the heart monitor is so accurate (I check it once in a while against a manual pulse reading, and it’s an exact match). The watch is the size of a small planet, but I can read it even without glasses (I’m not petite, so this has actually been fine).Easy to use — While some features take time to figure out, the basic functions of the Mio (the heart rate information and timers) are easy to use. It’s great when I’m working out to be able to see my heart rate each time. I thing this watch is not in the market no more…..excellent watch…I used it for years….
Not only is it a watch, but a strapless heart rate monitor that count calories. Great for working out. Love it!!!
here is the link to it in case anyone is interested: amzn.to\13V7MhC
Hey, solid review of this and the MIO Alpha 2. Â So between the MUSE and the Alpha 2, which is your choice for someone who does some long distance cycling but also would be curious about their all day calorie and other stats? Â Which would you keep on your wrist?
@Miowatch i was actually looking at getting a watch but i dont want to be wearing a chest strap when im at work. any products which do that?
you cant monitor your heart rate constantly, you have to press the button to check your current hr.
After watching this vid. I discovered a ton of features I didn’t even know it had! (probably should of read directions a little better) I bought it mostly for the price/heart rate monitor. The different timers are very cool and will make keep track of my work outs much easier!!
@charliepocket26 por el momento no ahi peroque quieries saver yo tengo este relo es magnifico
@lakeview255 i got this watch it really cool you got to get one trust me you wont be dissapointed
These are pretty trash. When you are doing some activity that you would want to measuire your heart rate stopping for 10 seconds to put your fingers on the pads or running that way just sucks!
Thank you for review. It was helpful but disappointing due to an eBay purchase. I thought it was constructed and designed to read HR continually just by looking down at bezel. I need something straight forward and less technical than a Fitbit type. I’m guessing this too, like yours, will just go into my gadget collection and serve as a lesson learned!
Me podrÃas enviar el uso y el funcionamiento en español por favor. Gracias
I got mio fuse yesterday and the thing is it’s not connecting to the mio app. What to do now.?
Awesome info as well as your website.
Just an FYI for others concerning the “finicky” buttons………..To prevent accidental triggering of the device, the Touchpoints are only active when your arm is in a horizontal position, parallel to the ground.

I love this watch, like.. M crazy for it but can’t buy it Cuz m in Pakistan
I hate it when I hear:…it is pretty straight forward…..and I am floundering to figure out how to use it. Â Argh!!!!
I like my Mio Fuse, I just want to know how to use it properly.
Does it do kilometers? And ever try wearing the device on the inside wrist closer to the actual pulsing vein for more accurate reading???
can it check my resting heart rate accurately? or is it only accurate when you exercise
The specs I see doesn’t not show it is compatible with apple products. Is this true to your knowledge? Thanks for your time.
Thank you for such thorough reviews. I bought this a few years back based on your review and was pleased with it. I have since misplaced it and am back in the market for a wrist tracker with my main concern being accuracy (everything else pales in importance). I primarily weight train with some HIIT running, but mostly weights. I know you were high on this but its been a few years since, could you give me a updated ranking, maybe a top 3, of wrist fitness trackers based on weights. I can find this on ebay but dont want to hunt down something for familiarity sake alone. Thanks again for your help
Thanks for the video its really helpful.
I would like to know, is mio fuse still your recommendation for affordable fitness tracker? I usually doing weightlifting, crossfit, body combat, etc.
Why not reply to my question sent to you more than once my question

I bought mio fuse on a discount but this band is not connecting with it’s own app. I’m using Android phone
FYI you should addendum the Mio using 3rd party as now it works completely in their system with the Fuse.  Just saying that they fixed this.
hi, i would like to know if this device can be share among different user and device?
Hi,
Thank you for this nice review. It helped me get started with my Mio Fuse..
However, I can’t get things done with 3rd party app.. I have Mio Go and RunKeeper on my Android phone. The fuse paired with Mio Go just fine but I couldn’t make RunKeeper detect the signal from Mio Fuse..
I tried manually pairing the fuse with my phone via bluetooth setting it said “Unable to Pair because of incorrect pin”->it didn’t give me any chance to fill in any pin, though..
And then I tried go to RunKeeper->Setting->Manage Connection->Manage Device(Connect&Manage Compatible Devices)->unable to detect anything either
Can you please kindly suggest:) thanks in advance
you kipp so much while doing pull ups, your range of motion ain’t complete either, awesome review tho.
hi, i bought Mio Fuse. I felt that it shows calorie burned in excess. Please let me know the accuracy of this device.
Thanks.
Well, after an hour of trying to get the S3 to pair with the watch. It appears that the Galaxy S3 doesn’t actually support Bluetooth 4.0 Smart. Truly unfortunate.
Sucks that they don’t have any plans to change the LED color.Â
Has this product fixed the third party app issue since the posting of this video?
Hate it. Works goot while in rest but totally wrong while workout. Probably becuase of the sweat on the arm… I dont know. After a hard squat rep it shows me 78 bps. Seriously?
Techy,
Hope all is well. How does this device stack up against the devices in your “3 Best Fitness Trackers for Crossfit & Lifting” review? Thank you for your time!
Hi there. Do you know if Mio has addressed the need for a third-party app since you made this video?
When I’m running, does the Funse show Heart Rate all the time, or do I have to touch a button to view the HR during the workout? I would like it to show the HR all the time during the workout and that the LED doesn’t switch off to save battery.
Hello, i’ve been looking at your reviews for a while and i want to ask you what is the best device/ sport watch to track heart rate. I wanna use it for weightlifting and also to improve my cardio fitness for soccer. Please answer me whenever you see my message. Thanks
this is not a joke question at all I very much so would like to know this. does this also tell time?
I’m stuck between Basis Peak, Mio Fuse, and Fit-Bit Charge HR. I’m interested in tracking heart rate throughout the day, calories burned, and possibly distance traveled throughout the day. I work manual labor and am interested in what happens through out the day, but I also want to track my performance while playing sports, such as volleyball. I also lift and would like to know data from my workout. I would appreciate your opinion. Thanks
Has the 3rd party app thing been fixed or is it still just for the alpha?
Hi! I have a Fitbit Surge and a Mio Fuse. Why does the calories burned differ between the 2? I do spin and my Fitbit will average 350-400 calories but when I wear my Mio it averages 700-800 calories. I just don’t know which one is accurate. Any insight?
Sorry if this has been asked before, but will the Fuse’s workout mode work well if I’m doing workouts that incorporate many different moves? For example, I usually workout 5 days a week to @FitnessBlender and their workouts consist of cardio moves/HIIT mostly with some kickboxing/yoga/strength training thrown in. So I guess what I’m asking is will it track my HR well while doing those and give me moderately accurate calorie burn data?
Among the two fitness trackers you’ve reviewed, which one would you prefer? The Adidas fit smart or the Mio Fuse?
Hi TA,
Very helpful video review. I also applaud your commitment to responding to questions in the comment section. In my opinion, your comment section is just as valuable an information resource as your splendid video. Thank you for all the effort answering people’s questions!
Here is something your viewers may find helpful. As has been mentioned many times, HR monitors that are wrist based work better when placed higher up the forearm. Maybe it’s just the shape of my forearm, but keeping the Mio in this optimal location when exercising (and sweating) was problematic. The Mio kept sliding down my arm. Tightening the band helped. But, that can inhibit blood flow and compromise readings. So now, when I work out, I wear one of those terry cloth wrist bands on the arm with the Mio. The width of the wrist band is just about perfect for positioning the Mio and the Mio can’t slide down my arm because the wrist band stops it. The wrist band is not tight. So I don’t worry about it constricting blood flow. Anyway, for what it’s worth. This has worked well for me.
Cheers!
Hi Eric,I need some advice here. I had almost made up my mind to buy the Mio Fuse. All reviews that I see of it talk highly of the device and say the app is barebones but fine. However, when I checked out the Mio app itself on Google Play, it’s been rated a mere 2.8! And numerous people are saying how the very low quality app makes the Fuse next to unusable (the syncing issue is a biggie, in addition to extremely basic data with no data export options). If you’ve been using the Fuse with an Android device (I saw you use a Samsung in this review), could you please make the following points clear:
1) How simple is syncing the device to the (Android) app? Does is take multiple tries just to get the syncing done?
2) How usable is the HR data shown on the app? I’ve heard it’s just a small graph which cannot be zoomed into and with very little detail.
3) Also, another very important pointwhen you say you can use a 3rd party app for the band’s data and the Mio app as a controller, is it possible to export daily activity data (steps, cals etc.) and workout data (with HR data etc) to a 3rd party app at the end of the day? Or is the functionality limited to using the Fuse as a HR monitor with Runkeeper etc. while running/cycling?Â
I’d be glad if you reply, this will be an important purchase for me! Thanks.
Just purchased a Mio Fuse. Love the feel and quality. Hope someone can help. I took the band off to sleep last night and left it on my dresser. When I woke up, there was an extra 400 steps recorded.
I’m a PE teacher looking for different tech to include in my classroom. Is it possible to sync multiple fuses to one device, such as an ipad mini? Where I’d like to go with this one day is to have the kids go grab a fitness tracker that’s been assigned to them when the come into the gym, work, and then as they put their devices away, I can collect the data for grading and fitness goal-setting. It would be pretty obnoxious to have to log out and log in to a bunch of different accounts to pull data from each fuse, or to require one mobile device for every fuse we use. We’re not at 1-to-1 with devices for students yet, so it’d be pretty impractical. Is there a better fitness tracker that continuously measures heart-rate for this kind of application?
It says in the manual that you can swim with it on. Is this really true?
Great review! Any chance you will be reviewing the FitBit Charge HR. That is the other device im considering.
Hi All, I have a question about Runkeeper integration. I understand that data is sent to runkeeper. But is this data actually integrated into the runkeeper database so that I can run reports on it? It seems like the fitbit data is not integrated. I see a post on the Runkeeper feed stating that I took xx number of steps. But that’s all I see. And I can’t find a way to run a report on the data.
hey techy agent, i ahve a question, which you think has better heart rate monitor mio fuse or mio alpha 2, or they have the same technology? thanks, great review as always:)
As it is lacking in an overall monitoring function like fitbit surge and charge hr, however mio fuse is very accurate in monitoring HR. Would you recommend pairing it with a lower rank product of fitbit such as fitbit flex to get the best of both world? Thanks
Does it tell time? I’m between this and a Fitbit Charge HR…
Does this device work if you flip it around so the “face” is on the underside (palm) side of your wrist?Â
Thanks for this review.
I bought the fuse based on this review and it’s everything I hoped for.
Keep making these great reviews!
Hi TechyAgent. I was looking for a review on this product when I stumbled upon your video. It was very informative. I just have one question though, is this tracker ok for tracking calories burnt during HIIT cardio sessions? It would be really helpful of you if you could reply.
How do you connect it to a 3rd party app??? I can’t seem to find that info anywhere… frustrating..Â
very good review. I am a runner and this appears what I have been looking for. I want a heart rate monitor and something to keep track of my pace. Â Thanks, Ed
if we could only use this with the fitbit app, best of both worlds
Can anyone walk me through how to integrate mio fuse with MFPbthrough another third party application?
Hi, thanks for the informative review. I bought the Mio Fuse last week and have used it with Mio Go a few times. However, I cannot manage to see a heart-beat curve. I see all the other information for the workout, but at the bottom of the workout summary page, there is no curve. Do you maybe know a solution for this? Thanks a lot in advance.
is it possible to use this as a heart rate monitor in the Adidas Micoach app? I’m looking on a recent version of the app and I can’t find possibility to link other than adidas devices. I like the fuse (narrow, all day tracking,… ) but I also like the adidas ecosystem (workouts, programs, web client).
how do you get the “call notification” to work? Â Mine doesn’t record.
What about Mio Link? have you tried it? the design looks more appealing to me
Thanks so much for all your reviews! I have a polar FT60 but i got bored of it mostly because i cant sync it easily with my phone, have to put on a strap everytime and it doesnot count steps or all day activity. I first started looking at Fitbit HR, but then thanks to your reviews I now know that there is also MIO and Adidas. And huge thanks to you for reviewing bands/watches specifically for cross fit. All other videos only mention running or walking. Great job! Please keet it up!
Have you found a good app for weightlifting/ training to use for the fuse?.just came across your channel, great reviews! I was going to get a Fitbit, but after watching your vids, I changed my mind.
what apps can i use to synch the BPM or calories burn and HR to apple health app
Hello Eric, thanks for the review. I am planning to get one shortly. Mio indicated on their website that they have released a bunch of upgrades to the FUSE, one of them being the sleep tracking function. Can you do another review of this device with all the enhancements?
@Techy agent, do you have any idea why my Mio fuse will say that I’ve already burned around 900 calories before I even put it on in the morning? Shouldn’t it be 0 if it hasn’t been on my wrist at all?
Hi Eric,
I heard that you can turn on the HR Sensor all day and by turning off the ‘Display Always On’ option the Fuse will last around 20-24 hours. Enough for one day of tracking all your heart rates.Â
Now my question. Does the Fuse a better job in counting all day calories (with the HR turned on all day) than the Fitbit Charge HR? Having this in mind, would you recommend the Fuse or the Charge HR for an overview of your daily calories and heart rate working out 4 to 5 times a week (primarily weightlifting, secondly Cardio/HIIT)?
And is there a big differenc between the calories counted all day without a workout between Fuse and Charge HR if you dont turn on the HR of the Fuse all day?
Super, thanks for the review. Sounds like a great device. Do you know which external app theily recommend for weightlifting? I’d like to check those out before buying. Thanks in advance.
just about ordered one but was wondering which is the best app to pair it to to predominantly focus on HR tracking? Â
Techy agent, bought the mio fuse according to your recommendation. Still under trial so far satisfied; I’m into crossfit, circuit training, boot camp, weightlifting, and running.
-what’s the best App for my ideal use?
-thx
Hi Techy agent
I would like to know what ur opinion is. Should I get a fitbit charge or hr. Since the hrm from the HR isn’t perfect it might just mess up my calorie burn in general so it might not be that worth it overall vs the charge where I’ll get accurate info from the information it will provide me? Thanks for ur help
Would you suggest this or the new surge for an all day tracker?
Hey man just a few questions…
1 Did they update the Mio Go app so it could display all the data collection by the Fuse to the official app?
2 Does this have a silent alarm for waking you up? or reminding you to move?
3 Does this have a sleep tracker?
Thanks man. I was going to buy Charge HR then I saw how terrible the HR on the device so its either Mio Fuse or I’ll wait for a better device.
Awesome video! What app do you recommend for using the Mio Fuse? I am probably purchasing one and I want to know what is the best app for it. Thanks.
Hi, firstly I’m a big fan of your videos please keep them coming.
I’d like your advice if possible, I’ve got a Fitbit aria and have my account linked on android with myfitnesspal, I would like to buy a mio fuse, but would like this to also be synced up with myfitnesspal and also with the Fitbit app as I’ve heard lots of negative things about the mi Go app, and it would be nice to have everything in one place. Is there a way to do this that you or other viewers of this are aware of?
Thanks in advance!
Every 2 weeks my Mio Drive resets to 2007. Very annoying as I have to re-enter all my personal data and time. Battery is new.
Great review! Would you know or have you attempted to wear this watch where the screen/information would be on the inside of the wrist and the HR monitor still functions properly?
Would thus replace the Adidas band? What do you use currently? I’m looking something more towards weightlifting
Hi TechyAgent! Love the reviews, they’ve been extremely helpful. There are so many of these trackers coming out this year that it’s hard to keep track!
Question 1: Does the Mio Fuse stay lit up during workouts? I saw in the video they flash blue to red to indicate how hard you’re working, but is there an option to turn it off? I feel like the lights would be too distracting to others during a crossfit class, and I don’t mind seeing the data after class.
Question 2: Do you think it’s worth waiting 3-6 months to find the best tracker?
In order of importance, I’m trying to find one with a display (Jawbone UP3 is out), accurate HR monitoring during workouts (Fitbit Charge HR/Surge seem lackluster in this aspect), and sleep tracking (Mio Fuse is out). I don’t really care about steps. At this point I’m considering the Mio Fuse vs. a Polar HRM, to use during crossfit.
One question I have about this device. I read an article that one of the cons was it had to have a phone for connection. Does this mean that you have to have your phone nearby throughout the workout, or just nearby when changing the device to “workout mode,” or just for the initial set-up? Any light you could shed on this would be helpful. Thanks!
Hey Eric thanks for the review. I recently bought the Mio fuse and wondered what your preferred compatible app is with the device?
Leaning towards Mio Fuse…thoughts….
I am currently a Jawbone UP24 user (ex BodyMedia Link customer). I am 5’5” female at 150 and feel as I am fighting these last few vanity pounds. I enjoy my UP24, however burning more calories than I consume is not working because I get to rate my workouts and that determines the calorie burn. I am weight lifting 5-6x a week at 1-1.5 hour sessions and 30 min cardio sessions 2-3x a week. I have a 8 hr M-F desk job and my activity on the weekends vary.
I have been looking at the UP3, Mio Fuse, Fitbit Surge, Fitbit ChargeHR, and Basis Peak. I have a good idea at what my basic calorie burn is for any given day. What I feel I need is a accurate calorie burn during my workouts. According to research, the harder I work, the more I burn and today is best measured by HR. What I have concluded is the Mio Fuse has the most accurate HR for workouts.
So, I am leaning very strongly towards the Mio Fuse. I want to ‘sleep on it’ and get any additional thoughts. I have considered wearing the Mio Fuse during the day and continue the UP3 to monitor sleep at night.
Appreciate any thoughts or opinions!!!
Sheesh. I was totally planning on buying the Charge HR, but after watching your review, it is exactly as I feared, the HR monitor that I have been waiting for is mediocre. The Mio Fuse is considerably a worse aesthetic design, and we lose the silent alarm and sleep tracking. Always compromises. Someone needs to do the perfect band for $150. Or the better solution, FitBit needs to buy the HR technology from Mio and make everyone happy.Â
Hey eric, I recently received the Mio Fuse but, found the hr monitoring to be delayed somewhat. Meaning im working out and it shows my hr rate going down…I stop to rest for a minute then it goes up where it should be. Have you had this problem?
Hi Eric, first of all thanks a lot for your awesome videos! Extremely helpful for someone like me who’s trying to figure out which fitness tracker to get.
After checking all your videos, I finally came to the conclusion that I will get the Mio Fuse instead of the Charge HR/Surge HR, as I’m doing weightlifting workouts and need accurate HR tracking for these. Now, however, I found out that the MioGO App on Android is mediocre at best. What bugs me most is that there is no HR graph after workouts (only average HR given). This functionality only exists for iOS.Â
So I wonder, do you know of any other good third-party app that I could use together with the Fuse for good HR tracking during workouts, if possible in combination with all-day activity tracking/calorie counting?
Tried this HR monitor out for a month and it was consistently inaccurate. I would say it worked 40% of the time and that’s a conservative estimate. For a product that only has one feature, it should work a lot better, especially for $200.
For people asking if you can swim with it, it advertises that you can do so, but a friend of mine returned his because it wasn’t accurate in the water at all.
This company is on the verge of something great, but the technology needs some time to mature.
I don’t feel I need an all day one, just want to know what I’m burning during different types of classes and workouts. What do you think of Polar Ft4?
First, thanks Techy Agent for a great review. Second, I’m thoroughly confused now! Your opinion would be greatly appreciated. I work out 5-6X/wk, alternating/mixing between a cross fit routine (Stroops, battle ropes, kettle bell, Rip Trainer), weight lifting, and sometimes mixing in T25. My goal was to lose weight, but now that I’ve lost a good amount of weight, my goal has changed to leaning out, getting stronger and cutting the last 20 lbs. The most important thing I’m looking for in a activity tracker is total daily calories burned via most accurate HRM (since currently this is the most accurate way to measure calories burned, until something better is invented). Originally I was set on the Up3 because of the method used to monitor HR. But as of right now it only gives you your resting HR, plus I’ve been reading that they are having problems overall with the device, hence the delay in releasing. Then I settled on the FitBit Surge but HR accuracy and price are concerns. Now I discovered the Mio through your channel. It seems like it’s the one. My concern is if it will give me a accurate daily picture. I currently use a Polar FT4, and it’s great except for 1 thing. Wearing a chest strap all day is not feasible. Well, hopefully you can point me in a direction. Looking forward to your answer. Thanks!
Kristian Niss: “Pace” is distance travelled in a certain time, so for example 1 mile in 10 minutes. Speed would be the miles per hour required to maintain that pace, so for example, 6 miles an hour. So if your speed was 6 miles an hour, your pace is 10 minutes a mile.
would really love your opinion on something. I just received my Fitbit Surge but have yet to set it up after seeing your review on it as well as a few other video reviews and those one amazon, etc. seems like the heart rate monitor is highly inaccurate during exercise, especially as high intensity. I switch up activities day to dayvarying from kickboxing, hiking, weights, p90x/insanity and walking. with this being a multi sport super fitness watch, I thought it would be a great tool for my weight loss goals. which is my main focus. weight loss at the moment. Do you think the surge is a better tool to manage daily calories burned to help achieve these goals or do you think something like the mio fuse is a better bet? because im tempted to send it back and go for the mi but im not sure what would suit me better. I really love your videos and your comments to all your fans and followers below. thanks so much for your time, tests, and opinions.
I have a big dilemma. My main reason for buying a fitness tracker is to keep a close look on the number of calories I burn during the day. I work out almost about 5 times per week. I do about 30 min of a combination of cardio and weight lifting. I need to choose between the Fio Fuse, Fitbit Charge HR and Jawbone UP3. I like the Mio Fuse because (according to your reviews) it has the best heart rate sensor, which I think will measure most accurately the calories burned during workout. However, the Mio Fuse doesn’t seem to sense much during the rest of the day, and that worries me. I like the Fitbit Charge HR because even though the heart rate sensor is not good during workouts, it does measure your resting heart rate well during the day and seem to give you more relevant information for your non-working-out time. I would wait for the Jawbone UP3, but it only measures resting heart rate, so I guess it won’t be much better than the Fitbit Charge HR. If my main goal is accurate tracking of my calories spent during the day, which one of these three devices is the best for me?
Great review! I know this question goes against the recommended wearing of the device but… You mentioned that wearing your Adidas Fit Smart on the under side of the wrist was still effective. Does this device offer that same flexibility?
Hi, love your videos and am a new subscriber after viewing this. Have u ever discovered which app works best with this?
Hi, can you please show the way that the Mio Fuse syncs with the adidas Micoach… I just got the Mio Fuse… and I want to keep using the adidas app… Thank you!!!
Good review that gives people what they need to know to make an intelligent choice. I have had my fuse for a week and I love how comfortable and consistent the heart rate monitor appears to be. No huge spikes, dips or drops in the readings; just make sure to follow the fitting instructions. Way more comfortable than a chest strap and much more fun! The fact that this can connect to ANT+ and Bluetooth devices, while playing nice with third party apps is a big bonus. Note to Mioit would be great to add an alarm featuring the vibration alert and well as sleep monitoring.
Hi Techy Agent,
I am deciding between the Adidas fit smart and the mio fuse….which did you honestly like better/found worked the best for weight training?
thank you for your response
You mention it was accurate… Did you compare to a chest strap heart rate to confirm?
Hi @Techy Agent, Thanks for the awesome review of Mio FUSE! We’re so happy to hear you like it. Good review. Like the fact they allow other apps to get the data so this should work with Apple health through my fitness pal. So I tested the PEAK and loved it ended up returning due to spikes in heart rate…how would u rate comfort compared to the PEAK?
Thanks for the review! I just got my Fuse today, and I can’t find any that will log your daily activity, only ones that track your workout by activating it through the app any help?
this is a nice watch, I dont happen to use the net calories feature but its is a must for me to track my calories burned during my cardio routines. Burned 1000 calories today:)
hello,
i got this tracker and started using it in multiple activities.what do you think, would be good if i use it while punching a punch bag?i have read it is shock resistent but i dont know if it will sirvive to those shock waves…so far no problem, but asking just to be sure it can be used in such activities.thanks.
Great review, especially the comparison to chest mount. Unfortunately, the inaccuracy is not what I was wanting to hear. Thanks though!
my understanding is that all optical heart rate sensors are challenged by quick changes in heart rate like your hill training (not specific to mio brand) but do great for more gradually paced activities. I haven’t bought one yet, but that’s what I’ve heard while I research what to get. you should try this again with a simple 30-60 minute run. this is also why Garmin does not so far include a heart rate monitor built into their Felix 3 or similar. most people with that level gear will own 2+ hrm devices and select best one car each activity and swap back and forth regularly.
Todd,a very informative video. What I’m try to understand and find informations about ALL over the web is this: does your Mio connected Garmin device ( I have a 810) let’s you see on screen your heart rate so that I can set up an alarm for it?
Regards from Italy
I watched a few of your reviews to help me choose the activity tracker that is best for me. Thanks for your help!
I’ve had my MIO for a week now and I’m not satified with it. The heart rate measuremenst are simply unreliable. In my experience the heart rate displayed is accurate about 50% of the times. Incorrect measurements seem to always be a lower than your actual heart rate… never higher than actual. I suspect the problem is that the sensors lose contact with the skin at times. I’ve tried it at different loactions on my arm (higher, lower, inside, outside, left arm, and right arm). I’ve also tried it tighter and looser… even with an elastic sweatband over it. Nothing resolved the issue. The only solution is to revert to my old chest strap heart rate monitor… which despite being less comfortable works very consistently. Bummer:(
The Mio is very easy to set up and very comfortable to wear. I have a small wrist (female) and it fits fine. The instructions advise wearing the watch band quite firmly to prevent the heart rate read out dropping out.

This ‘review’ is fine for people who don’t have to get the thing going. Not helpful for someone trying to learn about using it.
Can you wear it 24/7? And does it calculate the calories burned throughout the day?
Battery life is pretty amazing! 😉 Sorry, I don’t know much about the Basis watch.
hows the battery length? and have you seen The Basis watch? What made you decide to go with this?
How’s the watch going 3 weeks downs the track?
Pros?
Cons?
Have/Can you test it swimming laps in a pool?
Any chance of a more in-depth video review?
There is soooooo little on the web!
Ceers.
They did take my money, like 4 weeks ago… still no watch……..
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!
This watch looks wonderful, I can’t wait untill the summer time so I can start prepping for a marathon… I’m technically not aloud to run a marathon untill I’m 18, but heck in another 2 years who know’s how far Ill be.
The phone itself does, but the Android operating system does not actively support connecting to BT4.0 devices. It’s been brought up in a lot of threads over at Samsung already.
Has sleep tracking now, but i just ordered it so i havent tested it yet
Well, after an hour of trying to get the S3 to pair with the watch. It appears that the Galaxy S3 doesn’t actually support Bluetooth 4.0 Smart. Truly unfortunate.
Sure, I’ll give it a try tomorrow on my mother’s Samsung Galaxy S3.
you are correct but the basis does a lot more then just avg. heartrate
Can you test the Mio Alpha along with ANDROID DEVICE(BT4.0)+ENDOMONDO?
Thanks for the video. I’m thinking of buying this or the Basis watch. Do you like this Alpha so far?
Hi Eric, thanks for the info. I’m looking for a tracker that’s pretty basic and $100 or less. I work out 4-5 days a week, what’s most important is that its accurate of the heart rate/cals. This sounded good but i don’t know about the 3rd party app. Any thoughts?
Works like its ways it will. You have to really figure out which method works best when taking your heart rate. I became very frustrated with mine right after I got it because I could never get a reading unless i was resting.

I wouldnt buy this product due to da horrible actors who cant keep their eyes off the telepormpt lol
I purchased 2 Mio Drive +.. Neither of which ‘wake up’ when I hold down the start button. Am I missing something simple? I can’t find any solutions to this.
