Here’s a list of exercises you can do when you don’t have time to exercise: Wake up 20 minutes earlier. Have your exercise clothes laid out ready the night before (or even sleep in them), set your alarm, and head outside for some sprints – uphill if you can.Maximize your time in the gym (or at home) by planning your workout in advance — even if your plan is as simple as walking on the treadmill for 10 minutes and working through a few sets of dumbbell squats and chest presses.
When it comes to high-intensity interval training (HIIT), a very short workout, the benefits you’ve heard about are both legitimate and—we’ll say it—miraculous. When I tell people how beneficial exercise is and how much it can improve your health and just life in general. They rarely tell me that they disagree. What they tell me is “I just don’t have time!
Perform a DNA (gene) test: If you want to get more precise diet and exercise advice, then get yourself assessed for DNA test to help you get a customised meal plan for your unique genetic make-up. Eating healthy doesn’t have to be drudgery, it can and should be explored in an enjoyable way.Thirty minutes of cardio training are recommended, but even five to 10 minutes will elevate your energy and speed your metabolism.
Take the kids for a walk or just go by yourself. If their pace is too slow, add some lunges, jumping jacks, or running in place every few minutes to make yourself work harder. If you don’t have time to exercise, welcome to the club. (I do exercise a lot, but some days I get overwhelmed by how much time and effort it takes to commit to an entire workout done in gym.
You don’t need to be a high-performance athlete or used to working out for hours to start exercising today. The American College of Sports Medicine’s current recommendations for.Managing work, family and a social life can leave little time to exercise. But the Heart Foundation has some simple tips to get you moving throughout the day.
Get off the tram or bus two or three stops earlier and walk to the office. If you work in a multi-storey building, take the stairs instead of the lift. Here are 10 ways to make time for exercise even when you don’t have time. Try one or two this week, and identify others that fit your schedule.
1. Walk while your children are at sports practices or other activities.A good way to do this is by staying at home to exercise – there’s a bunch of suggestions here. Doing an app workout or a DVD might only take 15 – 30 minutes and you can stay in your undies and travel no further than your lounge room. 3. If all else fails, working out for 4 minutes actually has some benefit.
You don’t have to be sporty or ultra-coordinated to get fit. Focus on easy ways to boost your activity level, like walking, swimming, or even working more around the house. Anything that gets you moving will work.We get it, and we have some good news: New research says that the exercise you do on those no-workout days (you know, when you take the stairs.

Hope you enjoy the video! What time saving tips have helped your busy schedule the most?
I used to work at ups and let me tell you. Hello fresh trucks were the worst lol. But had the best workout with every box weighing 10-40lbs lol
Great tips, exrrcise defitnely helps me to focus and sleep better during stressful times. I a bus to go to school its sounds crazy but sometimes when late i get my cardio by sprinting to get on it, hahaha.
Thanks for the video.
Oh my god I can’t believe you just mentioned so casually that your dissertation file got corrupted and you had to start over?!! That sounds absolutely horrific. I can’t even imagine. Everyone, back up your files right now!
i adore your arms ugh i want arms like yourssss awesome natacha!
Hey Buff Dudes! I really want to get into exercising regularly but I’m a little different from others; I’m underweight with a BMI of around 17. I weigh around 115-120 pounds and it fluctuates regularly. I’m wondering if you could make a new video this year of a great workout routine/diet for those who are like me! Since this outbreak I’ve decided its time to get into exercising instead of neglecting it like I have and so far you are one of the best and most informative channels I’ve found! I would love to see what you guys could come up with and thanks for the content:)
This has been my main problem since i started! I do a strenght based workout 2/3 times a week, heavy weight, and long rests, 3 minutes between sets and 5 minutes between exercises…(Buff Dudes videos during rests, of course), and it takes FOREVER to finish! From 1h and 1/2 to 2 hours….
Americans are crazy, over worked, stressed out and we do it to ourselves, we are fucking stupid. Working out makes you tired, which makes you want to sleep. Its the 1hr workout plus the 2hr nap after that fucks people up.
Is there a Buff Slow Cooker Recipe List around?
Excuse: I don’t know what to cook, or how much of it to eat and therefore there’s no point working out
Hey Natasha!
Thanks for uploading another awesome video and for inspiring me to make my own YouTube channel! Your the best! Lots of love from Canada
stop with this lie of 1 hour a day… it takes more than that, 2-3 hours, unless you have the gym in your house and just don’t shower after which i suppose known of us do or at least hope they don’t.
A workout at a gym will be as it follows:
a few minutes packing the gym bag(can be taken out by preparing it the day before)
driving/walking to the gym(can take up to an hour or even more, an average of 30 minutes)
changing into the workout gear(a few minutes)
the workout itself(an average of 1 hour)
the way back(same as the way to)
and the shower(about 10+ mins)
Where do you fit all of this in 1 hour? this is at least past 2 almost 3 hours, assuming we work 8 hours a day and sleep 8 hours, 3 of the last 8 hours to spend freely are gone.
8hours….100%
3hours….x%
x=300/8=37.5% of free time or x2=300/16=18.5%, not 4% as you estimated, not everybody has enough time for doing this daily or even a couple of days a week for that matter, i sure woudn’t
Thanks for the slow cooker. Honestly never thought of using the dam thing
We’re visiting LA rom the great white north at the end of the month, whaaa?? When will you be in town??:)
Her hair looks especially nice in this video. She’s stunning
YOU DONT HAVE A FULL 24 HOURS (1440 mins) IN A DAY, you have roughly 16 hours or 960 mins of being awake, so a 1 hour workout is actually 6% of your day, 90 mins is 9%.
I have been hearing loads about this “All in” I assume its all rubbish but would love to hear what you think about this. X
Hey guys, just a quick note to let you know that I do my very best to respond to the questions that are posted here, but YouTube doesn’t notify me of everything that is posted and with the hundreds of videos on this channel I can’t possibly keep track of them all. If you don’t receive a reply to your post, it most likely means that I simply didn’t see it. If you need a guaranteed way to get in touch with me, please join the Facebook page and post your question there: https://www.facebook.com/SeanNalewanyjOfficial
I work 15 hours a day and travel 45 mins each way to work. How can I fit time to exercise?
I love you guys man, I love the vibe in every video I’m always so excited when a new video comes up!
Haha, wasted time? I worked out while watching the video in my home gym. Also great integration of the Hello fresh commercial.
Mitch Hedberg references back to back?!? I knew I loved this channel for a reason!
Man I work a sixteen hour day six days a week I never seam not to crash the moment I stop. More often I watch you guys ok teckly I just play it we’ll I work. Try food perp but still crash the moment I sit. Any ideas on how to build enrgy
I’m not sure if anyone’s mentioned this before, but I have a full-time job and go to the gym after I work. When I get home I only have a couple of hours before I need to sleep. So when I’m cutting, I meal prep on the weekends (usually Sunday) since I have way more time. I cook both my lunch and dinner for the week, so 14 meals total. I put two days worth of meals in the fridge and the rest I put in the freezer. I find that after 5 says or so that the food sometimes doesn’t taste right. Then when I need meals for the next day I either take them out to thaw in my fridge or just reheat them from frozen. If you don’t have room or want to reheat frozen meals, you can always cook meals for 3-4 days and then cook again for the rest of the week once you reach that point. A lot of people may not have access to a fridge/microwave if they travel for work, etc. You could buy a lunchbox/bag that has refrigeration and then just eat your meals cold if you want. These can be a bit expensive though. Hope this helps.
I cant believe hello fresh sponsored such a bad content channel like amberlynn and you guys what the frick you actually put thought and work into your content
I have a very unregular schedule, therefore I don’t really plan when to do the excersices but just set a goal for the day. Usually i make my goal, but sometimes it is hard to find the time and I go to bed without having completed my goal. I guess it’s a two sided process. Helps with unregular schedule, but can backfire ending up in not doing the excersice that you wanted to.
I’m 24 I’m a trucker and a father of 2 and I still find time. We work 14 hour days and we only get 10 hours to eat sleep shower ect. I utilize my tractor and trailer for workouts and do what I can with my bodyweight. I don’t get to eat clean all the time but I stay in my deficit. No excuses people
Why am i watching this while eating a donut with some cheesecake on top
@buffdudes. I wish you dudes would do something for dudes and gals that are obese.
Oh my God who said that.? Was that Richard Pryor? If you want to eat 2000 of somethings rice is a good meal. Ok looked it up, It was comedian Mitch Hedberg.
I work like from 8 am until the midnight, at weekends I work like 9 hours at the weekends. Any schedule for me?????
Need an idea for a video? I’d love to see a “dumbbells only” workout like you guys did in rural OR!
Thank you for breaking this down so understandably. Self determination is my biggest struggle, I am definitely going to write out a plan that works for me tonight and get to work. Let’s see what 3 months of self determination and consistency does for me .
Ugh, I already do almost all of these and I still can’t manage to lose more than 2 ounces a day. Any other tips?
hey buff dudes, would really be interested if you guys could do a video of how to workout in the office!
love the mitch hedberg references! big ups to another great vid
Hello dudes that are buff,
This probably won’t be seen but just have to put it out there. How can obtain the bane from Batman look? What does the workouts and food look like? Thanks!
Phone app, slow cooker and the buff dude cutting plan is how I role also lunges on a moving truck insane gave me a laugh but if you really want to change yourself to be healthier you will force yourself to make the time instead of making excuses I got family and a full time job but can still get that consistency 60-90 min pump in
Man I just found out Brandon was Kratos for the God of War Superbowl ad!
That s already a lot of effort for a lot of people nowadays.
Full body, 2-3 times a week. Spend more time with family, go for walks. Being at the gym everyday is useless unless your a professional athlete.
Great episode!! Your videos have really helped get me back in the weight room. It’s pretty much all I watch now when I’m not getting buff. Thanks dudes
I noticed that the refrigerators in other countries are so much smaller than those in the US.
If you want something bad enough, you will make time to do it.
“YEAH BUT I HAVE 7 JOBS AND I WORK 32 HOURS A DAY AND IM A SINGLE MOM WITH 3 PIT BULLS AND…”
So sick of hearing it.
After not doing anything for two years, it’s time to go to the gym again. I’m excited!
Would love to see you guys experiment w working out when you work graveyard shift

I stopped working out in October, now I’m 30lbs heavier. I got a case of the fat n lazies
hey Buff Dudes whats a good meal plan for somebody who is 6;4 and 233 lbs. I would like to lose some weight but also gain some muscle and get myself in shape. What would you recommend is a good food guide for breakfast lunch dinner and snacks.
Hello Fresh sucks. They have you pay before you can select your meals. Most of them suck, and then when you think “well hey I can change the meals”, up front and center are the good ones…that all cost a lot more per serving. Then you have to scroll down to the poor people meals which are all made of cheap low quality ingredients, so you’re just disappointed that you have to settle for the shitty ones. I’m really disappointed you did a sponsorship with them. I trust you guys but HelloFresh is one of the worse delivery services.
Isnt it better to start off doing 3 sets of 10 reps of each exercise? Because with 5 reps arent you doing higher weight which isnt ideal for a beginner?
Great video, you should do some slow cooker videos and maybe a guide on each workout.
I need to get back at it been hard being a single parent to a 2 year old and working full time pretty exhausted
I find 2x upper and 1x lower works for me, but I’m a newbie (about 8 months of training only)
I have a question. I’m Injured right now (arm wrestling is dangerous) so I can’t work out, but when the injury is gone, I will have boxing (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) Krav maga (Tuesday or Thursday) CrossFit (Tuesday), swimming (Monday) and fitness whenever I feel for it. Does that seem excessive?
12 Ways to Lose Weight If You Have No Time for the Gym… 5:42 Bazinga!
To me, it is bad to start your day with a bowl of fruits cuz the sugar in fruits is difficult to digest and some fruit have a high sugar content which means spiking your insulin level thereby making it difficult to burn far.
Perfect timing I have two babies and I feel like I have no time. Xx
and this diet is not good for health don’t try it it’s not good by using this diet at my class time I had no energy to do and write something and if you do it one days your 1 kg will be decrease
I just done 2 month of exsersise end dayet end still do it for more 5 month so thanks my leter
I’m on my weight loss journey, and I literally do minimal exercise and 110% changed my diet and I’ve lost 19lbs in 3 months
Thanks, and I love that book. # 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
Make the time for the gym. Everyone has the time. You’re just lazy
Unfortunately I’m always exhausted after the gym for at least 1-3 days. Feels like I catched a cold. After that I recover slowly and can be productive again. Exercising makes me definately less productive!
I’m hitting the gym now for more than 6 years, but it doesn’t get any better:(
I tried other sports like climbing, but that’s even worse… After climbing I’m down for almost 3-4 days!
I think I just have a bad immune system:(
The doctors couldn’t find anything…
Before you ask: I have a healthy nutrition. Lots of fruits and vegetables. Protein after training with salad etc. I researched how to eat after a work out.
I’m pretty jealous on you people with properly working bodies…:(
Health is so important… We only realize that, when we don’t have it anymore…
Here’s Brandon kicking ass in the gym, being a father and editing these videos with crazy skills and I just skipped going to the gym for a week to play LOL
3 big reasons why people are not healthy
1) costs too much to healthy
2) takes up a lot of time
4) you can’t be bothered
1 that has helped me most is being aware of what a serving size actually is. and eating a serving and not a portion (portion is what you put on plate but a serving is what you should put on plate. if you eat a portion that is 2 servings it has twice the calories of 1 serving.)
Socialize at the gym?
Titles it “if you have no time for the gym”
1 dont waste money on a gym go for walks or find an activity that is fun for you so you want to keep doing it.
2 don’t watch the news everyday to reduce stress
3 eat remotely and slow
4 don’t get a job that takes 90% of your time if you can, spend time with your family do activities with them
5 have a remotely normal sleeping pattern
6 laugh alot, it reduces stress, burns calories and helps with health in general
7 don’t go to fastfood stores
8 drink water
What if you died of a heart attack after making all those millions?
Hello Dr. Jay I have a question about you pre med school did you use sketchnoting? And if yes, is it really powerful?
Thanks in advance
with exception to cofy & socialising at the gym, i’ll try most of these along with my gym workout…
i want 2 ask you that since m doing all this u told and 1000 crunches every day will i be able 2 loose w8 atleast in 2 month
Thanks for guiltripping me asshole! . Jk. Great video and stay buff as always!!
I would like to say that if you just can’t give up ice cream, like me there’s a way to satisfy that craving… It’s called “nice-cream)! It’s where you just freeze bananas and blend them with other things like coco-powder, pineapples, strawberries or whatever depending on what flavor you want.
Pro tip!: When I want to avoid that banana taste for certain flavors I use grilled sweet potato or batata (a white sweet-potato) for flavors like matcha ice cream or Earlgray ice cream where the banana flavor would interfere. And instead of using sugar to sweeten it, I use 4-6 pitted dates depending on how sweet I like it! This really helps!
Well I’m gonna be eating fruit with pips for breakfast for a month…I better notice a change I do 20 mins of walking Monday to Friday for school and 25 minutes of exercise an hour before bed…I think that will help??? I’m so lazy
There’s certainly been times in my life when training properly would have been difficult outside of the weekends. When we had young children and I was travelling 3-4 hours each side of an 8 hour work day, there was little time during the week, but I still could have done weights and cardio at the weekend. Usually people in that sort of situation mention that they don’t have enough energy to train, but it’s really that they don’t have enough energy to feel motivated to train. Generally, the more exercise you do, without over training, the more energy you’ll have, so it’s just starting that can be the difficult part.
No 12 frozen veggies is not good at all, has too much sugar. Please read label before buying. If you really want to lose weight stay away from high carbs.
I’m a parent and I’m honestly lucky if I get 30 minutes per day where I have no obligations…and the 30 minutes are right before I go to bed… not the best time to train.
This week I was supposed to have 6 days off from work and the kid would be at daycare… My kid caught RSV and needed to stay home. My wife caught stomach flu. Now I’ve got RSV and stomach flu simultaneously. This is a “normal” situation in my house.
I’m not exaggerating when I say this… Ihave not had a childless, illness-free, no work day in at least 3 months.
Def starting to feel like Jack in The Shining…
I guess its called the dad bod for a reason.
If you don’t have time for gym now, then you will definitely have time for hospital in 10 years to come
I do the same as I usually do. Work. But I changed from eating processed food ro making it myself.
ATTENTION!! Don’t watch this video if you are on a diet! Its been 5 days since i kept diet clear, but this video made me go ravenous! So i had to eat cake!
I started my weight loss journey when I was in school. Always laughed at, bullied for my size. I tried exercise, diet, but I still was gaining weight. Eventually I fell into depression and was about to give up. What saved me? Funny to say, but a Shark Tank show, which on that day had a wight loss supplement company to pitch their product. So I tried it. And it worked! I lost about 110lb that year and never looked back! You can find it at bit.ly/freeketotrial they should be offering free trials at the moment. If not, you can still order it, it’s more than worth it, believe me. It’s called Keto. And I believe trials are available only in the US, if im not mistaken. Good luck for everyone who is struggling, and never give up, like I was about to, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel!
JJ.
I was hoping for a quick fix solution, but no, it doesn’t exist Theses aren’t even real suggestions. Swap canned veg for frozen? Who eats so much canned veg that it can have an impact? Realistically, you need to move more and eat less. That is it.
Brisk walking in place of running, no to soda and junk food for st least two months; this helped me lose close to 31lbs last year! In addition to daily morning home workouts of course.
It would be better to swap candy for homemade smoothies and freeze the fruit you use yourself just remember not to use juice as the liquid base cuz of the sugar content
Aha Mario hitting u with the pillow also it would be rlly cute if u guys made a couples channel
I haven’t a Buff Dudes video in a LONG time. This one was great dudes! Stay buff.
I actually watched this while prepping dinner… apology accepted buff dudes
I use it diet morning one apple and evening one sweet and night protein shake and now I am 43 kg and I am 20 years old
Thats what I did and how I lost weight two years ago. Still great. It works.
Just eat 35% of what you eat today and walk for 5-10 kms daily
You will loss weight for sure
I like the tips on how to squeeze in exercise time within the busy schedule as finding a separate time is a challenge sometimes
12 ways to lose weight if you have no time for the gym: #4 socialize at the gym
SO U WANT ME TO BUT YOGURT ON MY TACOS INSTEAD OF SOUR CREAM
Im watching this while eating canned peaches & then I see the first tip i feel attacked
When you want to lose weight but you don’t want to waste your money on vegetables
Thank you addressing this! Being healthy doesn’t mean not eating chocolate/junk at all and training at least 6/week (so unrealistic!)
Count the calories you have eaten and you have to make a calorie limit diet so don’t forget that
Thanks for the tips. I love hula hoops and I will replace my nachos and popcorn for hula hoops while watching a movie
Re-name this video to “How to be miserable by giving up everything that makes you happy”… I agree with the stairs though.. take the stairs if you can.
Even better, swop canned veg for whole raw veggies and steam or lightly boil them if you like.
What if its not time? What if you work construction and you dont have the energy to go to the gym after work? (I dont want to take a pre workout a couple hours before bed lol)
I’ve learned so much from you, and i thank you for that.
I yet struggle with something, if you or someone could help, and that is: i don’t know how to start! I’ve learned about macro nutrients, about making a treshold of calories day/week, with necessary nutrients, i learned about the different kind of work outs needed to work this muscle or group of muscle or the other, fasting / bulking, the sweet spot, why you do those, how. But… i don’t know one thing:
how and where do i start?
1.How do i set a died for myself? What do i need at my current height and weight?
2.How do i use the equipment in the gym ( king of dummies question ).
3. I might eat 1k calories in 3 meals today, tomorrow 4k in 1 meal, (no record average to look at) so how do i go on a caloric deficit while my calories and (bad) nutrition intake are so random? how do i start? while never having a record? since i ever eat and ate so chaotic (3 is kinda tied to 1)
4.How my genetics influence the whole procces, can’t understand yet if i gain muscle / fat easy or maybe loose it fast. ( tho it seems i gain fat easily, maybe also bc of the fact i’ve got no workout routine, only like 2 hours walking a day, with about 8 hours being on my feet at work).
Height: 6′
Weight: 240 lbs / 108 kg
Thanks for the attention. I’m fat, fat is slowly killing me, and i hate it. I want to do something.
You forgot to add water to the list… drink plenty of water.
I LOVE your realistic and fun approach to a healthy lifestyle!!
“12 ways to lose weight when you dont have time for the gym” number 4 socialize at the gym?? If you have time to socialize at the gym, you have time to be at the gym list fail, not so bright; bright side
Intermittent Fasting. I also concur that u will get used to black coffee. I actually dilute mine with just a tad bit of water. 55 lbs gone in 4 months. Of course other variables were brought into the mix as well though…
1. how about replacing both canned and frozen vegetables with fresh ones. ditch the dish washer, washing machine and raise your legs to improve blood circulation. it works for me
2. playing a hoola while watching tv is distracting
Hey Buff Dudes,
Quick question. I see loads of videos about young dudes transforming their body from obese to gods in the span of 12 weeks.
Now how realistic is that though? As I’m a 33 year old with a dad bod and my entire metabolism has changed quite a bit after hitting the 30 mark. I’m a dwarfish 5″7 guy who weighs 90kg but all my fat is around my belly and titties. I have 2 kids, full work week and 2 dogs so this video really gave me good advice and motivation. Got any tips for this Daddy Not-So-Buff-Dude?
Love this, and you!!! Ps your jeans So cute. Also… I dunno if this is something About England but why is your fridge so small? In the stated our fridges are massive! Haha
Myth? i fell asleep on my workout mat yesterday and didn’t wake up until my alarm clock went off at 3am…fml. No, this is impossible.
I am 14 and live on a farm so it is tough, but I find time to work out 3 or 4 times a week for about 2 hours each.
i barely have enough sleep since im a mining engineering student, i think i will just waste my workout cause i cant sleep 7 hours a day isnt it?
https://www.eduworldfree.xyz/2018/05/busy-job-schedule-mein-apne-aapko-fit.html?m=1
I agree with 3x 1 hour as a beginner, but training optimally at an intermdiate/avanced + level, you need more more than that and that’s where it becomes hard
Yeah…to get results I need more than 3x a week 1h. More like 4x 2 hours + getting to the gym + everyday mobility 30-60 minutes..
After working 11 hours a day i feel no motive to do anything afterwards. I have time, I need the discipline.
i do a set and feed the fish during my rest period then do a set and feed the cat, do a set, feed the turtle, do a set, start laundry, do a set…. etc it really helps motivate me and keep me up to date on all my chores.
Great video Jay! I have been following your channel and you have been making excellent content! If possible, can you make a video about nontraditional medical students and whether it’s ever too late to enter medical school?
Thanks!
And keep up the great work!
Excuse? Lost me in the first line. One hour in a gym: what gym? Cannot afford it. Work 6 days a week and have kids.
Am I write, you said you only train 3-4 times a week?
Love all your videos, but still waiting until you’re making a 30 DAY VEGAN CHALLENGE! <3
In the UK you have amazing healthy option ‘fast food’ to go in grocery stores. Maybe you could make a video about your fav’ go-to things?
The number one thing I suggest for losing weight is going vegan. I went from 190 to 145 pounds in just a few weeks, and from a size XL to small/medium. I also had way more energy to work out.
@Sean Nalewanyj To gain bigger muscles do you really have to eat 3 large meals a day?
Calisthenic channels are great for body weight training! Fitnessfaq, calisthenicmovement and Saturnomovement. They have body weight only videos legs included! Jeff cavalier from athlean-x have some great body weight only workout videos.
It’s not that people don’t have time, it’s because they are tired and lazy period! There is no way in hell you be busy all day 7 days a week. They are just addicted to Facebook!
All you say is true and I believe people make so many excuse cause they’re lazy. I train wherever I can.
Why should I socialize at the gym if I don’t have time for the gym?
The logic nowadays..
What if its not time? What if you work construction and you dont have the energy to go to the gym after work? (I dont want to take a pre workout a couple hours before bed lol)
It would be great if you could make a video about how you chose your medical residency!!! And what are your thoughts about the one ur doing now
I don’t think frozen foods have that much nutrients either we should eat the fresh ones neither canned nor frozen!
Find 20 minutes a day for workout and check my channel for exercises ideas:-)
Damn make, how can you take out time during residency! Salute
Mama shark tu tu dad shark tu tu baby shark tu tu doggy shark tu tu kitty shark tu tu lol
I wanna exercise and get fit, but then I think about climate change and the world ending and get uninspired and dispirited. Makes everything meaningless. Sounds nihilistic, I know. How can I defeat this?
Thank you guys for this video I’m studying architecture and working full time almost every single day this was a way of relief
Hi Dr. Jay,
I want to seek your medical knowledge with body physiology and ask if I’m on the right track in terms of my workout. Currently I’m starting and studying yoga through Yotube videos. My daily sessions last for about 30 mins. I don’t feel entirely sore but I do feel tired and sweat all over. I want to seek your advice whether what I’m doing is enough. I can’t afford formal training as of now. Also could you share with your reps and work out regimen when you were starting out. I think your insight will be really helpful as you’ve managed to progress with your workout given your tight schedules.
This video is everything!! Thank you so much for sharing!! So insightful
I have been waiting for more videos! Love watching these! Maybe a video about best advice for undergraduates?
Im not sure if this is the best place to ask but for the method of loci is it possible to just reuse the same memory palace?
Im in medical school and trying to learn thousands of slides of information no matter how hard i try i cant come up with more than 100 palaces. The option is either to reuse or drop the technique. How did you memorise info once you ran out of palaces?
Thank you! Honestly if you really want something you’ll do anything to make it happen. Success=persistence and dedication
Hey Dr Jay I wanted to ask what are your thoughts on a semester or year off before med school
I’m thin and I have abs why tf am I watching this.
Oh ye it was recommended wow. YouTube thinks I not healthy XD
He forgot to add, a home gym. If I had to workout at a commercial gym, I would literrally never go. I workout at night, after work, after dinner, after the cats are fed and the kids are in bed. I don’t own a TV btw.
Dr Jay thanks for another awesome video. Could you please do a video specifically on book recommendations as i always find the books you mention in your videos very helpful.
Listening to 7 Habits does no justice next to actually reading and studying it.
Hey Jay, I never really got into Audible for one main reason. While ‘multitasking’ is one of those abilities that most people try to achieve, I am a firm believer that focusing on one task at a time is really the way to go. If I’m watching a movie (at the cinema or at home) I won’t look at my phone; if I’m studying, I’ll take a break to eat and focus on just eating, rather than doing both activities at the same time. If i’m making time to read a book then I’ll find a quiet place to focus as much as possible on what I’m reading. Listening to an audiobook while working out or driving or walking sounds counterproductive to me… I like listening to music while I run cause it makes time go faster and it gives me a rush of adrenaline, but if I’m doing weights or HIIT I find it so efficient to just listen to my own breathing pattern. For example, I used to do box jumps while listening to music, until I realised how heavily I stomped my feet when landing on the box and back on the floor, which was so bad for my joints… but I only realised this the first time I did NOT listen to music when working out! Any thoughts on any of this? Don’t you think focusing on one activity at a time would be a lot more productive and enriching?
I knew this before but I haven’t followed through, thank you for reminding me about this
Heheh, hi Jay, I see you upgrading your editing skills with effects like 6:04!! make sure to have the entire composition scaled up, (zoomed in, by like 115%) that way we dont see the edges of the video scrambling up and down. it will look plenty cleaner. great video as always!
I think this is the fourth time i watched this video!!
It´s such a good reminder to be smart with the choices we make and the time that we´ve got, and I pick something new up every time I´ve watched your videos.
Keep up your hard work, you are a huge inspiration for me and many more <3
“you’re going to keep that heart rate elevated, which is great for fat loss.” i thought the general consensus was that the best thing for simple fat loss is a stead low heart rate that keeps you in the aerobic levels.
Thanks Dr. Jay introduced us EJ… love audible book too. it has a huge impact on me as i manage to finish at least one book (depends on how long) per mth.. these authors are my mentors, cant imagine how my mind will be changed after 12 mth..!!
She lost me when she stated I consume 1000 calories when I go to a restaurant. Only a 1000? The dessert alone is 450-500 calories.
I get up at 5am, out the door by 5:15. Drive for an hour and 15 to get to work. Work at least 8 hours. Drive at least an hour and half home. Then take half the recommended amount of pre-workout. Then workout for about an hour while tending to my kids. Then play with them, make dinner, make food for the next day. Mon-Fri. Stay motivated, people!
No shit. The more you do, the more you feel like doing. I always find time three times a week to workout in the gym and go ice skating. My side job also requires me to stand and walk and lift weights so I feel really active there as well!
Nice video. I totally agree with the point about correlation between exercise and focus throughout the day.
I had a great streach workout maybe an apple in the morning!!jejeje
whispers Sorry for suddenly losing my voice half way through this video!
On the topic of my last tip about not feeling guilty creating space, I’ve been thinking about making a video about the power of being an introvert, which is something I’ve been learning about a lot recently. I’d love to know if you’d be interested in that kind of topic ☺️
Lots of love and see lots of you in LA soon! ☀️
I wanted to watch this video when it came out but… I had no time.
i never buy enough at shops, i just want to get out as fast as possible. thankfully my bf actually keeps his head and grabs things xD
Started a job working close to 40 hrs a week and am taking 3 summer classes (which are double the speed cuz they’re 8 weeks instead of 16 weeks) I’m losing my mind and can’t cut any classes cuz I need them to transfer and can’t cut down my hours cuz I’m training this girl who’s older than me (graduated college) but can’t think for herself (so I have to stand over her shoulder and tell her what to do step by step) I am so run down and am still trying to work out and stay healthy
Natatcha, everything single word you said spoke straight to my heart. Thank you for making this video!
I watch your youtube videos to feel better after a bad day:)
4:29 I’m sorry but that’s just not something that’s gonna happen ever on real life. You can eat healthyI know I dobut when it comes to gluttony there’s just no way that there are healthy substitutes that tastes better than the crisps, chocolate wine or beer. It’s not going to happen.
have you read my mind? I’ve been compromising this during stressful times and feel like I’m not doing enough for my other priorities such as school, and my results and sacrifices only help enough for average grades.
you’re my favorite youtuber. i feel like recently i’ve gotten into this all or nothing mindset. like if i don’t have time to go to the gym, i just start getting into this negative cycle of not going to the gym or eating badly. and it takes a lot for me mentally to be like okay…lets just start over. and then i go full swing into it again. then end up burning out. but realizing, hey, i can do a little bit of something each day. it doesn’t have to be a full workout. it doesn’t have to be a full idea of a healthy day of eating. it can be little bits here and there that make a difference. i love that so much. thank you natacha.
Thank you for this video. I work in a special education school for children with autism. Each day is mentally and physically challenging, i am also studying at home and trying to juggle the gym and healthy eating etc. I finally jad a melt down. I just felt so suffocated and couldn’t find a healthy work/life balance. You are an inspiration, intelligent and beautiful too. Thank you for being in this world with us:) x
My friend recommended you and I absolutely lvoe your attitude!
I genuinely hope the scooter with no helmet part was just prop comedy. Please be sure to care as much for your brain as you do your body.
Have you bee cutting?! You are looking leaner than lean than usual.
Hey natacha ♥️
I’m writing this comment with absolutely 0% hope I’ll get a reply or anything, but something in me still wants to try it out anyhow, because I need the help. Since 2012, I’ve lost over 45kgs, unfortunately not in a very healthy manner. At first I was on 1200 calories, lost then plateaued and chose to bump up to 1800, lost more but then somewhere along the line started to gain weight a little, freaked out and did my biggest mistake (that I thought was the smartest thing I’ve ever done) and lowered my calories to 1500, for one full year. I lost almost 10kilos, was working out and eating nothing after until the next day (sometimes I would sleep because I couldn’t do anything else), and also did intermittent fasting. I did not know how much I was damaging my body until I stopped getting my period and was crying because of how much I was restricting myself and how I had everyone around me worried for my health.
After watching your videos on metabolism, I started increasing my calories slowly and doing more weight lifting, less cardio and 2 hiit sessions instead of 4 each week. I also started working out at noon, and eating regularly after but still while intermittent fasting. I’m now at 1800 calories, my weight hasn’t changed (maybe because I used to lift before just not as much?) but it feels like my belly is just expanding and I don’t get it. Am I doing something wrong? Is it just me? Im desperate because all the progress I made matters so much to me. It took so much to get here and I want to be on the right track. I really wish I could get even the smallest piece of advice from you. Love and looking up to you always.
♥️
I think you should definitely try and get into some Brazilian Jui Jitsu. I believe that every man woman and child should definitely learn the basics. You’d kick ass and it would be a great life lesson cause you never know what can happen especially being a beautiful lady! If you see this, then you should def give it a go! Keep doing your thing, you deserve all the success coming your way
Anyone got a good app for managing/sheduling workouts? (iPhone compatible)
I took soda (pop) out of my diet for 5 days out of the week and started walking while on my phone and I went from almost 300bls with pre diabetic down to 250 and I am diabetes free
I ACCIDENTALLY lost TEN POUNDS one Summer! I’m a chocoholic & need a little each morning. However, it melts & gets messy in the heat. One glass nonfat cold chocolate milk satisfied my cravings. No other changes to my diet. By the end of Summer, someone told me I looked like I lost weight. I told him I hadn’t changed my diet at all. Stepped on the scale & discovered I lost 10 lbs without trying!
Dang girl, your video editing and that overhead shot……incredible. Someone is going to work on that editing doc!
I don’t even have time to clean my house right now it’s so frustrating. I used to go to the gym in the mornings at least 4 times a week, yesterday I cancelled my gym membership. I feel sooo shitty
Thank you so much for talking about both physical and mental health, you’re a Queen and I hope your tech business launch goes amazingly well ❣️
I listen to my lectures while walking! No excuses, always time to be healthy
Can anyone tell me what range of Gymshark she is wearing at 8:27? Is it the Dreamy collection in dusky pink?
omg Natacha your videos are literally the fucking best! And I love you so much & appreciate your honesty.
I love your videos (and btw, you look amazing with the more natural look without the lash extensions!!)
Literally have been too busy to even watch a YouTube video and this was the first thing i saw!!! Thank you girl!!!!
Perfect video! I just started graduate school on top of my full-time job. My tips are meal prepping for the week and getting up earlier to take time to meditate, read and walk my dog before work. It also helped that I had a solid gym routine already thanks to following cut reload. I work out after work in the evenings.
The problem with busy people isn’t really that we have no time, it’s mostly that when you do find a few moments for yourself in the day you are likely too exhausted to dedicate that to even more physical activity and would rather spend it relaxing or sleeping.
I recently watched you do the US Military fitness tests and as an ex-Army man I thought those were very cool. Starting in the fiscal year 2020 (October) the Army will be changing their test to a 6 event Army Combat Fitness Test. It would be very interesting to see you attempt that then compare/contrast the differences. The new test is a MUCH more effective measure of fitness than the old push up / sit up / run test ever was. Here is a link to the events and their current order, it may change slightly before implementation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9RlS8LZgVc
As a 40+ year ‘young’ man new to your channel and videos, I’d like to say a massive thanks. Your content is always illuminating and instructive.
Natacha! When/are you restocking your long resistance bands? I’d love to get my hands on them!
This guy is saying all need is one hour of your time during the day to go to the gym. How about driving to the gym, looking for parking, working out for one hour, drive back home and look for parking? The one hour workout turns into a 3 hour workout or more. Most people don’t have this amount of free time during the day. My advice for busy people is to buy some basic workout equipment at home and then combine it with some weekend gym workouts.
I’m a teen in the Philippines, have to wake up 5 am for my school bus on the way to school. The school’s dismissal time is around 4 and I arrive at home around 5 pm. So that’s 12 hours of my day. Just sharing. And I have to sleep at 9 pm to get 8 hours of sleep, but I can’t sleep immediately.
I am so grateful for your channel and all the hard work that you put into it
You’re absolutely wonderful Natacha—so relatable but you have the most insane work ethic and fabulous intellect at the same time. I’m also not always the person who has their sh*t together either, but hey, isn’t that all of us?
Hey so I’m a dancer, and I just wanted to say that although you probably know this, there are some very dangerous mistakes a lot of people make when they’re stretching (ballistic stretching and pushing their boundaries too much) just remember that while stretching shouldn’t be comfortable, it shouldn’t be causing you pain so to speak!
we really don’t mind the differences between the part in the gym and the rest your video, i jsut feel sorry about you having to film it again. Don’t feel bad about it:)
This is exactly what I needed this week thanks for sharing these great tips!
Natacha!!! Ah I haven’t been in your comment section in way too long! Great video Girl and I hope you’re wonderful ❤️
This is perfect! I am now so busy, but I need to realise that going to the gym for 30 minutes is better than not going at all… I’m just so used to doing longer workouts!
May I ask what’s your agency called? Or the website? Thank you, lots of love! x
Perfect timing for this video with us going back into the FALL school term!
For the pear jack is there any other fruits because I’m allergic to pears

Oooo can we have a stretching for box splits video please.. also a goal of mine ☺️
Hudson: you see the time that to spent watching this video? That’s time you could’ve spent eating or working out
Me: click’s on another video
This just came around the right tome you know, Natacha I just joined Uni 3 months ago and I’ve been so so busy unable to make time for the gym, I literally run on 5 hours of sleep everyday .I feel like college students have no acess to healthy food since we are so busy we dont cook.Tysm for uploading this video ❤
Your advice is just on point imho! I just realized a few days ago that I had a totally weird thinking pattern when it comes to training. I can be insanely fixated on things and that will mean, I sometimes don’t even see the alternatives. Like: Yes I planned to do a specific type of weight training and no, I don’t always find the time to do it. But that doesn’t mean I can’t train at all. And as simple as that sounds, I was stuck. Things like that happen, it’s okay, we’re all humans. So I think it’s great that you meantioned that in this video as well. And about the overthinking etc.: I do that too and what helps me is writing everything down. Sometimes just as it comes to my mind and sometimes incorporating it in a story or a poem or lyrics. Writing for me is like cleaning up the mind. This may not work for a lot of people though. I told some friends to try it and it wasn’t their cup of tea at all. But yeah, as you said: we all can find our own ways to snap out of it.
I wasn’t a subscriber but this vid just got dropped on my YT reccomendations page. Have watched all of a minute so far but just saw that we have the same fridge and suddenly feel committed
This came at such an important time for me. I’ve just started vet school (my life’s aspiration!) coming straight off of a summer where fitness and being active outside was my number one priority, and I was exercising up to 4 hours a day.
Accepting the fact that studying now has to be my priority, and that fact that I no longer have anywhere near as much time or energy to dedicate to fitness, has been a big shift: but having watched this and seeing how it’s all of the little healthy choices that make the biggest difference has really made me excited about working small changes into my new daily routine
Do you stay active on your non gym days? I’m a potato on days i don’t gym and i feel like that makes my next workout a little tougher:/
yes! please make a video on the power of being an introvert!! I love all your videos:)
I love the valuable information that you give in your videos, but sometimes when it’s a sit down video, I get a little bored even though the info is so good because there aren’t a lot of visuals. But GIRRRLL, those little clips and things you added to this video made all the difference! You’re such a good content creator:)
Thank you so very much for this video! It’s JUST what I needed as I’m going to be starting this new job soon thats going to require a lot more of time. Deff will be referencing back to it when I get to the point of “oh what’s the point of a 15 min jog”..as a reminder that every little bit is better than nothing at all. Thanks again!!
One of my favorite deserts to have is simply a baked apple. Fill it with some cinnamon, walnuts and a little (not much) brownsugar and bake. Its like an apple pie without the crust.
Guys what did you expect from a short 1,5 min video? This gives an insight on what HIT training is, so you can Google it yourself if it sounds interesting to you. Thats not a fitness channel.
I go to gym every week and be motivated by the girls who do squads. I don’t know, I can’t just stop looking at them and feel motivated
I hope Buff Dudes keep it going like it was Days of our lifes, I hope im watching new content 30 years from now xD
Came from school, watched Natacha’s new video and then off to the gym. Love you
I was so shocked at the “no” scene cause suddenly I saw a word I recognized (I’m from Sweden). I even went back to se if it really were a Swedish word
This was just what I needed! Back to school and being a lot “softer” than when summer started I needed motivation to stay healthy you’re amazing and I’ve been watching your videos so many times even my boyfriend recognizes them and tells me “you’ve already seen that one three times” ☺️❤️ lots of love!
Did anyone else get up & start stretching while watching once Natacha mentioned it? ✌
Lately I eat more than I should and I eat quicker than I used to. I’m struggling really hard.
Hi Dr. Jay,
I’ve loved your videos in the past because you back up your points with proper evidence. I haven’t seen such an obvious endorsement yet…and when you added Audible as a point you lost a lot of the credibility I gave you because I felt you added it in to make money rather than as a proper (proven) point. Maybe you should make a video about multitasking such as listening to books whilst doing something else? Thanks a lot though, your channel is really good!
Being healthy makes me feel good inside and just overall happy with myself
“Being healthy is the sum of all the little choices we make.”
Couldn’t agree more. It’s not how many reps you can do, how long you can run, or how many vegetables are in your fridge.
It’s simply making those little choices time and time again knowing that you are making yourself better.
Sooner or later you’ll have La Croix instead of beer, a smoothie instead of cookies, and go for a run instead of sitting in front of a screen and you’ll think, “How did I even get here?”
That’s the goal.
