Guten Tag means ‘good day’ aka Hello and I could understand it so it was great how you pronounced it:))
Just ran my first half and got 5:55/ km or 2:09 min after only running for about 3 weeks although im an avid hiker and always have been in decent shape. Focusing on breathing is my main help
Ran back to back half marathons over the weekend! 1:54 and 1:57! Thanks for your videos!

It is a patent-registered toe sock in the U.S. Korea is famous for blocking blisters.
Karlie Knossos if you see this comment I want your pink nike shoes and your black long socks
I love running but having flat feet, I am out for good. I keep getting reinjured. Shin splints, plantar fasciitis, I now suffer chronic hip pain from the last time I tried running even after placing myself. Two years later, and I can barely jog
My second full marathon is coming next month!!! it’s so crazy and i think i’m gonna start doing only half marathons after this full!!
anna if you can go 1:55 while talking and holding a camera then you can beat mo farah!
well done sir, you should make longer videos!
https://youtu.be/8-KNc8fKLNY guys this is my first running vlog of a mile workout. i would truly love your feedback to improve content. hope you guys enjoy!
OMG, as a marathon runner myself, I am so appreciative for people like you, who spread the word and the power and the energy of running! thx for sharing this with us! If my friends don’t believe me, they most certainly would believe you! ✌️
im 13 and i ran a solo half 2 weeks ago in 1:54 and ive been running regulary for 5 months
Nice modelling group.. marathon I guess self beliefs..will get ul there..some how this doesn’t appear ture
I would say for the runner to utilize some fartlek runs 1/2 mile on 1/2 off. Also, adjust his diet in a few ways.
I just ran my 6th half on Sunday, I am perplexed, I never felt stronger but totally missed my expectations. And I am not one to ever inflate those expectations. Any explanation?
This is awesome thanks for sharing will defo point some guys your way!
What a wonderful and inspiring mother knowing how to motivate her son with reverse psychology! ❤
I’ve done it, not hard. Half marathons are child play ♀️
Sir i m your big fan plz tell me the key to run 800m in 2 minutes 40secs…
My thoughts during a half is to keep to pace and race plan, when things get physically tough I try to smile though the pain. This keeps me mentally focused. I also try to break the later stages of the race down ie last 10k just 2 stints of 5k break it down to smaller amounts. And always have a plan B keeps me on track
I did my 7th Half yesterday and I finally got below the 2:30 mark. I Really would love to get a sub 2 half but I lack time and I have no one to run with. Any recommendations on what I could do to get closer? I can keep up a steady 11:10mm for the entire distance but I do Run/Walks of 45:45.
Where do I get a jacket like the one you were wearing for training? (Grey) P.S I am going to start learning the fundamentals of programming next trimester
[pauses video] Two things no-one’s mentioned so far in these comments fuelling and hydration.. [unpauses video!]
I watched this video, “Half Marathon Pacing Strategy,” and “Half Marathon Race Day Tips and Logistics” repeatedly and followed the advice, and ran my first half marathon 1:48:03. Without these videos, I wouldn’t have been able to do this. I can’t appreciate enough. Thank you so much. I started to watch “How To Run A Sub 4 Marathon” and aim at running my first full marathon in 4 hours.
What type of camera did you use to record your vlog during this race, Anna?
Love this video and it really helped. Ran my first half marathon ever and did it in 2:03. just missed the sub 2hr, but was still happy with it. I would like to get your input on running in the heat, it was 85 when I started and got into the 90’s. Is it simply dialing back the pace? Thank you all for the great videos, very beneficial.
I am shooting for a sub 2 in 3 weeks! Came close at a really hot and muggy half not too long ago. Hoping that timing with weather will help me out some too!
Not to sound like a snob or anything, but are you allowed to just throw your plastic cup of beer on the sidewalk? That doesn’t seem right. Is someone going to just clean it up after you? Just asking as I’ve never done a race before so I wouldn’t know ♀️.
I had been able to prepare for my half marathon training making use of this marathon training “Zοrοtοn Axy” (Google it). I ran a PR even if I just only used 6 weeks of the given schedule! I`m now preparing for my marathon training use the guide, and now my training runs have become a lot better than my previous marathon training courses. Throughout my marathon training program, I was able to run another half and set another PR..
good video. 2hr14min PB for me to beat on my second attempt this weekend
This is encouraging! I have been wanting to train for a half marathon for some months now and am encouraged that you trained for 30 days before you did it.
I love what you said about being able to do anything if you put the work in and surround yourself with good like-minded people. I’m currently on my lunch break thinking about my work duties when I return, I was already pumping myself up to seize the rest of the day, this is good.
You are inspiring!
Thanks for the video, great content as always. Quick question: if your race pace is 9:00 per mile, what’s your recommended pace to start out at and for about how long?
6:58 i cant get over the fucking olaf chasing you its so funny to me
This makes me think I could actually try running a marathon someday. Thanks for helping me see that it’s possible for so many of us to work toward!!
I have run 9 full marathons and have trained for three, not braggin just letting ya know
How much did i spend on training for a half marathon in 30 days
So, a company sponsored the entire trip, the gear, and I got not a single tip about the Preparation portion of the challenge. Why did I watch this?
Thank you for sharing this, it was truly inspiring. Very well done to you & for the positivity throughout the event. Ps: Love the nails.
Awesome, thanks so much for the metric conversions. Keep up the great work!!
i ran 1:32:32 with 2 weeks of training and i´m 16… just be a little hard to yourself
@Klossy very honestly I am in love with you Karlie. I want to marry with you seriously and live together forever
instinctively without reading other comments I would say the longest long run should be 1.5 times the half
The most ive ran is 10k today im just gonna yeet a half marathon
I know this video is kind of old but the first link in the description doesnt work.
Running my first half marathon in less than 10 weeks never used to run. Lost 116lbs and have never run for more than 25 minutes until yesterday when I managed 90 minutes and 9.2 miles. As a weightlifter I’m just not designed for this I can squat 95kg and not be afraid but say marathon and I’d rather hide! But I’ll do my half!!!!! If it kills me
Damm i hate people who have it all, beauty, personality and health. Good luck with your attempt.
Excellent advice, which could have been just text. I suppose it’s a sign of the times, that it’s a video, even though there’s no visual information. Main point: If you’re training for a long run, some of your training runs need to be long (close to the race distance), with the second half a push to run faster than the first half.
I did the GNR some years back, I ran in place of a late 50 yr old lady in our running club. I got a PB which went down in her name. She was ever so happy. A great race I’m sorely tempted to do it again.
That just made me cry. I ran that race too, with my dad and it was unbelievable. I doubt it will happen this year but I am still training. Just in case. It was so emotional to run. The people make it amazing.
I’ve done a Sub2 HM with close to no preparation. Not that hard. Sub 1:20 is HARD
Just finished my first half in 1:37:09 a couple of weeks ago!
I love this girl! So happy and fun to watch so down to earth.
converting pace from mile to km while ur talking feels like
I ran 3 hours 20 minutes on 4 weeks training for a full marathon.I felt a tad uncomfortable but you just keep putting one foot in front of the other and eventually you get there.
Come to Australia!!!! Get Adidas to sponsor you in the Melbourne Marathon! You’re inspiring me to get off my butt and run!
I run a half under 1:45 and I could do it a lot faster if I didn’t have piriformis..reallly sucks cause I can’t really speed at no point during the run
Omg , what to do. For the first time I’m going to join marathon. I don’t have any experience and I don’t do exercise . Now only 1 week is left to for marathon day . Hope, god will save me
I’m doing this this year, well hopefully depending on current circumstances.im so excited but nervous, will be my first half
Another great video Holly! Question. Do your training plans integrate with training peaks? I’m currently training for my next Tri and it would be super to have all the data in the same place.
Anyone that can run a 10km at 5min/km pace doesn’t need to watch this video. Move along and get out there. You’re ready.
Great effort
However lets not kid ourselves on no training
Hes a mountain bike competitor
69k trail bike event in sub 4 hours
You need good cardio and strong legs for that
Not the same as running but untrained
I dont think so
I`m training for my full marathon with the assistance of this marathon training program “Zοrοtοn Axy” (Google it). I decided to start again with a improved plan. I`m experienced in 5K’s and 10K’s and half marathons. Thanks to this guide, I am now planning to take the full marathon. I highly recommend this excellent training..
Hey Sage I’ve been watching your videos for the past month and they’re all so informative and helpful to my running. I just raced this past weekend and shaved 17 seconds off my 5k pr with your help. I’ve been looking through your videos and I may just be overlooking it but I’d really like to see a video on tempo or lactate threshold runs
Great video and tips. Just found out that my half marathon pb was declared void as the course was 160m too short!!! Need to work extra hard to finally get under 2hrs and these tips are sure to help thanks.
Hi Sir, I am running 3.5 Kilometres in 22 minutes. That’s too low but I am challenging myself to run 10 KM in 1 hours, then, i want to improve upto 15 KM in 1:30 hours, and then I want to improve upto 21 KM in 2:10 hours. These are my targets. Once I am able to run 21 KM, then, only I will work on my speed. I want your advice and suggestions, I am very much serious regarding running. I want to train myself for next 2 years, currently I am weighing 60 KG, height is 5’11. AGE 29. Please honestly tell me, if I am making right decision.
Why am I watching this I can run sub 2 hour marathon easily and I only run to get in shape
Meanwhile 9 months later…
Well done.
It is so difficult to get the pacing correct with the excitement and adrenaline at the start, isn’t it?
“Don’t do as I do, do as I say” cos I always give the usual advice “don’t start too quickly blah blah!”
Thousands of runners a few too many for me: tho with the present situation I have started to look forward to my first London Marathon (maybe….) in October, rather than see it as a “I’d better do it in case I regret not running it when I have the chance”.
Hydration: fortunately there are more recycling etc considerations by the organisers. Tips-for-Teens on hot race day > I often have a water-bottle sports cap in case the water station bottles aren’t equipped with one > and a sponge to soak with the water and placed strategically for cooling purposes don’t top water over the head, waste of time and water.
Not sure if you guys still read these comments, but I just ran my first half marathon and finished at 1:58:19! Thank you for all the tips you’ve given on this channel!
This made me miss races! Nice to live vicariously through videos though at the moment:)
ran my first half in september at 1:40 then second last sunday at 1:33. really trying to do sub 1:30 now and im so excited to get there
I love your channel and use your app regularly! Thank you for such great, informative content!
how many times a week do u do strength training? Is strength training at the gym absolutely necessary for runners? If yes what kind of workouts will help achieve a sub 2 hour half marathon?
i ran my first half marathon after a month after track with hardly any training and ran a 1:31… i ran the first mile in 5:36 and i regretted that decision the rest of the way
(btw my p.r in the mile is a 4:45 and i’ve run a 16:50 5k, so it’s not like i just randomly decided to start running)
VIDEO IDEA: Hi, Im a proud subscriber of you guys, a sub 36min 10,000m PR and I’m also currently struggling with something called “Osgood schlatter disease” and I was wonder if maybe you could make a video about this problem, and how to achieve the fastest possible recovery? Thanks!
Proud subscriber,
Josh.
I trained in 6 days but my time was awful. Congrats Klossy
Great video, as a guy that has ran multiple halfs I can confirm that all the points discussed are true and very helpful for your final success!
Really enjoyed your half marathon running journey!!
I made a similar film about my Chicago Marathon experience this year.
Keep this type of content going!! It’s inspirational for people who are contemplating putting on a pair of running shoes. My wife got a lot of inspiration from your 2017 NYC marathon journey:)
We are all set to run the Berlin Marathon in 2020

Hey guys I just wanted to thank you all for the video series on Half Marathon Training! I ran my first half this past Sunday in Düsseldorf and your series helped sooo much! I finished the race in 1:59:12. thank you again for the tips on everything, this channel has the best Information by far! The pacing tips worked perfectly for me!
Thank you iam in the same boat right now i have pr 5k 19:23 planning to run close to 90 mins in half marathon thats the goal now the corse will be very hilly th( running 26miles weekly)
And also thx for the inspirational talk
All the best!
I am preparing for my second marathon for Vienna next month. This info is pretty cool. I am simply shooting to get under 4 hours for now, a 3:45 to 3:50 if all stars are aligned, but now since a few months I am doing about 70 to 80 km a week and I feel I’m starting to feel comfortable with the many KMs. About time to start to get serious and focus on pace and faster workouts, losing a few more kg and I think I will either make a proper plan for myself or get a coach so I can get some speed for a fall marathon.
Anyway probably no one cares about my story I’m just saying it’s good to get an ‘intermediate’ level of information about training. I couldn’t have used it a year ago but now it starts to make sense, I read too many beginner articles and training plans.
Running a half marathon in two days time and even though I’ve done some training I haven’t done near enough. Thank you for this video is has helped ease the nerves a little. If I complete it in 2 hours 30 I’ll be happy!
6:11 really? it’s bad enough this prosaic shit gets put on youtube, dumb asses like you have to leave your shit for others to clean up too?
My best half marathon 1:57:58
My next goal get it under 1:49:59
I’m at 2.13:( so close to sub 2 hour got 5 months to achieve it so fingers crossed
I ran my first HM last sunday, managed to make 1hr 44mins (i have been running for a few years tho).
Hey I’m running my first half marathon in little over a month from now. When you started when did you start to increase the distance?
My first half is in 14 days. This gives me hope. I just hope I finish
only a 5k left…. i’ve only just started running more than 5k lol
Last half was 2:01 i had no idea how close i was dang it!!! Ok thanks
Hi I have ran sub 2 hr ( 1:56:54) Chicago half marathon with the guidance & tips shared by you. I am really thankful to you & your channel. Now the only problem is that I am facing is the pain my Left Calf. Are there any specific workouts for it to recover?
Did one today without one day of training lol finished in 2:02
this is pretty much the exact opposite of what I’ve been doing 18weeks 60-70 miles per week with most long runs hitting about 17miles usually 2mins below marathon pace….marathon is next week we’ll see how it goes… well done on 3rd place last weekendI thought you might do a video on that?
I ran a half marathon on a hangover it was the first race I’d ever entered lol slow as fuck but I still did it dehydrated and hungover. Im going to run 2 half marathons this summer
Step 1: don’t be totally out of shape. Step 2: Run it. I’ve done 22km in 2:10 after a work day, on an empty stomach, through wind and rain. I’m not super fit, just average. Ok, Me knees didn’t work for two days, but it still was a worthy experience for a first try.
Thank you guys for doing this. The plan looks solid and absolutely a got workout. I would like to add something that is not a workout tip but more a mental thing.
On a SUB 2 Hour half marathon, at the start line do not start up front or close to it because that’s where the faster runners are. Start almost all the way in the back.
During the race you will pass more people and that will give you a mental boost. If you start up front you will be passed by a lot of runners and that will feel discouraging during the race.
Also. Pick a target in front of you that goes about the same speed as you and try to (slowly) catch up to it. Keep doing that during the entire race.
Best time for me 1:52:18 and it actually was not that hard.:-) Felt Great.
It’s so obnoxious how well he’s doing with no training , but I’m also weirdly proud of him for having the balls to try it. Good job.
Running an event in little or no training is something one of us is quite familiar with.. it’s tough. But recovery is tougher. Really enjoyed this vid!
I have very little experience yet on half marathons, and definitely I am far away from the 90′ mark the runner achieved, however the first think I think of is the benefits on oxygen capacity and fuel-efficiency long-runs develop, hence I`d assume increasing long-runs will only yield benefits!
I think this runner got all of the performance out of their HM that their 5k implied. They need to improve both short and long race ability through a balanced program with weekly tempo, interval, and long run sessions. I think the long run is too short right now for a 90 minute HM goal. Building to a 2 hour long run in the leadup to the race would be really helpful. I also think the tempo sessions should be alternating between short (at 10k-ish pace) and long (at HM pace) in duration. Intervals should evolve from shorter repeats to longer VO2max style repeats and eventually to 2 mile repeats before the race.
5:36 I feared the worst when that guy offered you a beer, then you took one sip and chucked it away. Tell me it wasn’t what I feared it was?
Great advice as always. Thanks a lot Holly. BTW I have heard the quote ( 3:46) the other way i.e. “your mind quits before your body”.
Consider the Maffetone method. Run a faster half marathon easy.
If you are seriously interested in running a marathon or want to set a PR then this marathon training program “Zοrοtοn Axy” (Google it) is important. I have read a number of books on marathon training and run two marathons and about 50 half marathons. I found the book motivating and reassuring. I had been able to get tactics that I didn`t know about..
why my legs become heavy and tired after 3 km run..and my not moving forward..i try my best to move my legs forward but i cant…plz help..plzzz hepl… I shall be greatfull for u for this I want to complete 5km…..
Yep, more long runs will help fo sure, also hi might have started too fast (always a problem for me:) )
How do I calculate my weekly mileage f I dont know the distance of my long run?
I hardly believe he had no any training and able to complete it in 2.5 hs……i just completed my half marathon and slower than him…and i run 12k once per week…..
Nothing Gets Easier, You just Get Stronger Quote of the Day By Karlie I Luv ❤ U so Much
This guy has so much good information for improvement but it’s so hard to stay focused in the way that he conveys the info.
Respect for anyone who completes a half marathon. It takes courage.
Well, im not a coach… but i would a long run (well over HM distance) + a 6.2 miler faster then HM pace in the training… but kinda obvious….. should have worked more on that long run
Fab work. I done it in 2019 also, although I did it in fancy dress. It was ROASTING!! I almost cried at the finish line for a different reason to you haha!!
Thanks for the video!Doing my first half marathon in September and I’d love to hit sub 2 hours. It’s not exactly a couch to half marathon kinda situation as I have some fitness from badminton but it’s definitely gonna be a challenge!
I’m at the stage where I’m running 5 miles at a sub 2 hour pace (5 miles being my current long run distance). Am I going too fast on my long run?
I hope to build my long runs up by a mile or so every 2 weeks.
I love your videos, they are so refreshing compared to the really serious type that is not meant detrimentally. I’ve not been enjoying running of late, pace has slowed, feeling sluggish etc., but know how good it is for me so won’t give up, you’ve reminded me it can also be fun and not to take it so seriously. I did my first half last year and you’ve inspired me to sign up for my next.Thank you.
This half marathon is loads of fun but what’s confusing is the amount of hills! You’d think running to the sea you’d be on the flat or heading down hill but nope! And the last mile is 4 miles I swear.
What do you think about when you’re running a half marathon? Or maybe you haven’t run one yet and this video’s given you an idea of what it’s like?
I did a half marathon yesterday without ever running a mile before. I did it in 2:39. My pace was slow but I didn’t take a walking brake. My feet and knees are hurting me today, maybe because I did it on my sneakers. I don’t think I would do it again
Hey Karlie, I think you’re a very positive role model this is why you should tell your brother in law to close the immigrant camps. Please use the influence you have! Don’t take it for granted you can do a lot here. #girlboss
You are so great, sweet, funny, strong. Thank you for sharing your video. You are inspired. I hope once in my life I can run the half marathon it’s so beautiful and great. I am working on it!
I tried, but the 2hour pacers got me at 18k got psyched out for 2k. Leading to 2:02:05
5:21 it’s called a half marathon because it is half of a marathon just mike a 10k is half of a 5k…….
I’d just listen to this on repeat the whole time and I’d probably set a world record:
https://youtu.be/_Enl_ArqiRg
Is it just me or are half marathons and marathons hard when you’re between being overweight and obese
I would love to be a part of your group. You’ve inspired me to train for my first ever half marathon and register for the event. Thanks❤️
Lol I run to stay in shape I could do sub 1:30 half marathon and I don’t care
Meeting my sub 4hr target and also attaining my first marathon with no injury were possible due to this marathon training “Zοrοtοn Axy” (Google it). The book provides a lot of good information about training, diet, technique, and so on. but the very useful page in the whole book is the training schedule which informs you how far to run on what day..
I finished my second half-marathon last Sunday. I was aiming for the sub 2h but finished in 2h00m38s.
38 seconds…:)
My first HM was a trail one, after 3 months training, and it was a fantastic experience but it was also cruel with hills and hills and damn muddy downhill slopes…..
Great time! KUDOS for all finishing. I know that last mile is the toughest. Keep up the inspiring videos and getting more and more people involved in positivity. Been watching your videos since you baby sat for Caseys kid. Your videos have a personality that is unique. Keep Looking Up!
that’s good advice for people running their half in the 4minute/km, but for slower ones, running, say 25k is something that would require not only plenty of time (i.e. about 3h or even over), but also probably some supplements because those runs are long enough to seriously deplete your glycogen stores to the point you either eat or hit the wall.
Such a nice vlog with a very interesting content! I’m subscribing!
advice for my first marathon?? im about to start my training but im unsure where to even start.
Wow! That is about the same time I took to finish my first and so far only half marathon.
I was dying there in the last 4 miles and this lady is filming and talking casually through it. #Respect
Can totally relate to the emotions, great job under 2 hours! I’m in North America and all the marathons are up hill, it’s brutal
I do my first one in two days. 330 pound guy who’s been working on it♂️ we will see how hard it can be
I did my first half marathon. 1:57:58🙂 so happy to be under 2 hours. The volunteer pace runner was amazing
Ik just completing the race is such an amazing feeling but imagine being first
I was around 18 when I did my first Half-Marathon and my only goal was to get under 2hrs… I trained for only a total of 5 runs before the half marathon… a 5km run, 7.5km, 10km, 15km and one 20km run. I did them around a week apart, and I was happily surprised that my time was 1:43:45… It was a surprise specially considering my 20km run clocked at 1:55:00. Sometimes you just have to let your competitiveness kick in I guess.
Great these emotions. I have the same walking the 4 mile in my home town. https://www.4mijl.nl/. As I run through my old neighborhood, I hear my own accent, my own humor and more. I feel at home. And yes I got so excited that my hartwater was 15 bpm faster as normal . Great run! keep it up.
Workout of any type can be quite challenging and sweaty but the feeling after it is always divine
Don’t be deceived, this guy is an athlete. He had completed at least one 69km cycling event earlier that year https://www.athlinks.com/event/37575/results/Event/438154/Course/657152/Entry/283554508 This video is dangerously misleading. Please don’t try to complete a half marathon without training for it. You could end up like the people he mentioned in the video going to the hospital or worse.
More distance and stamina trains. Speed is good. Didn’t mention any strength training. That could be beneficial as well.
Hey guys from The Run Experience. I´ve got one question… so, the thing is, in September 9 there is a race ( 8 km and half marathon ), I´ve been running since, now… 7 or 8 years, training in long distances The longest distance i´ve runned must be 18 km. (slow running ). The question is how much time should i prepare myself for the half marathon? No risk of injury of course. What do you recommend?
Sage your the man! I completed my first half marathon last week with the help of your videos. My time was 2:15 which I know isn’t amazing but its a start. I plan to complete a marathon next and eventually a triathlon. I suffer from depression and running has helped me deal with it. I love your videos you are an inspiration.
When you`re getting ready to run a marathon for the very first time, you should attempt this marathon training courses “Zοrοtοn Axy” (Google it). The book is filled with good assistance, suggestions from all those who have run one before, what to do and also what NOT to do, as well as training schedules. Highly recommend it..
I made use of this marathon training program “Zοrοtοn Axy” (Google it) to learn for my full marathon. I made a decision to begin again with a improved plan. I am experienced in 5K’s and 10K’s and half marathons. Thanks to this guide, I am now planning to take the full marathon. This excellent training program is a must-try..
Add more tempo runs in the 30-40 min range, plus add some hill work
This inspired me to start training to run the Chicago half in September! Hopefully it doesn’t get cancelled
I’m 15 and have been training for my first half marathon and it is in 2 days, am aiming for 2:45
I just did my first half this last Sunday 1:52:36. Your videos really help me
Only just found this one week out from my first half marathon! I’m 15 and have little experience running, so at the moment I’m just aiming to finish (hopefully under 2:30:00). But if/when I do another half marothon this’ll be the first video I visit!
IMO a long run for HM training should be at least longer than the HM distance is. So he/she should do much longer long runs.
Dear did you know marathon man(Male/Female) some people call them tuna fish!
Am I the only only one who saw Olaf out there killing it mile after mile
I’m running a half marathon this sunday…..I haven’t ran for the past 15 years….and havent’ trained at all for the half marathon….just a silly bet I made with a friend for $200 if i can finish the half. I feel like i’m going to regret it lol
I just went on my second run (ever) and I could only go about a third of a mile, just under half. A pretty lofty goal for me would be to someday be able to run a 5k
Lovely storg girl I’m so happy to see you in these long runs I wish you the best of all and keep storn an Happy please kisses
I did it ha ha have problems with 5k without stop. One day just start.. And finish after 21st k without a break:) now after few weekes run 10k 3 times per week and long run in weekend:)
I like the fun energy of team Klossy and this whole video
Dunkin Donuts after a marathon, I knew I liked the Kloss for a reason
I love that you said only a parkrun to go, that is what I always say too
My first was in March. I did 2:10. If I was lighter and ate better I think I would do it.
first time i’ve seen anyone getting emotional about going to Newcastle lol
My thoughts:
Im hungry
Why did I sign up for this
Can I fake a seizure
Will I get a scholarship soon
Why am I still here
Where am I
Oop I stepped on a ladys foot
I wanna sleep
Can I just humbly ask less experienced runners that are trying a half marathon please don’t get near the front of the pack on race day. I’ve literally seen people start walking at less than a mile in and blocking traffic and it’s so irritating to people that are trained and ready to attempt a goal. It’s good to sign up for a race but please keep in mind some people are really trying to keep a specific pace. It doesn’t buy you anything to get near the front.
Hey there,
Great video, as always, thanks so much!
Another topic: once I’ve seen a Spartan Up book on the shelf of yours. What do you think about the rising of OCRs, how would you train a runner, who wants to compete? I think it’s a lot different than running and also a lot different, than trail running, altough great running performance is really a must for an athlete to perform well.
What would be the differences when training for the running part of an OCR.
thanks 😉
Finally an American taking the trouble to do the metric conversions thank you!
Awesome video, for a long time I’ve been doing the long slog you’re talking about. Switching gear during long runs contributed to making me improve a whole lot, I guess.
hot/humid Florida running tough to stay motivated for a half
Watching a bunch of these videos the get some inspiration for my half marathon next month. Great job ladies!!❤️
Finished 1:49:55 in my first half marathon! Didn’t really train for it, but I’ll definitely do that for a full marathon. My target now is 3:30, keep a 5 min/km pace, will look into your app!
“Nothing gets easier, you just get stronger” i love this woman
Very impressive to run the 21K without any training at all. Your mom even made a statement, “Maybe I don’t need to train “ 5:26 nevertheless you did it. I am very much proud of you like your mother. Please do not do it again because you will risk yourself having a heart attack. Lastly, you did not train at all? Maybe you did some cross-training before this event. It took me about 5 months of strict running training before I ran half-Marathon.
My most common thoughts? “I’m glad I’m not a 1:55 half marathoner carrying 5 pounds of sh** on my back”
Unrelated question? How many miles in your training do you go on a pair of shoes before changing them out? I ask this because your training mileage is a lot and i realize it needs to be. Im working up to a half marathon.
lol, all I have to say is a quote from Eliud Kipchoge “Marathon doesn’t start until the last 10 kilometers, you can run the first 30 kilometers without thinking”
Thanks I got 1:40.09 on my first half your videos help a lot
I’m running my first half marathon in April and I’m so excited but so nervous.
I am training for 16 weeks. I used to be a runner as a teen and I’m 26 years old now and 30 pounds heavier. Not overweight but I could lose some weight. We’ll see what happens. I’ve always wanted to run a marathon and this is motivating me to start exercising and eating healthy. I love doing both of those but I never really did it for anything but for myself and I always failed after five weeks but now I have a goal to go for(running the half marathon)
did my first half today 3:10 it killed me as I did no training, shall I do a few 10ks before my next one?
Those who eagerly wish to run a marathon or would like to set a PR should try this marathon training courses “Zοrοtοn Axy” (Google it). I have read a number of books on marathon training and run two marathons and around Fifty half marathons. I found the book motivating and reassuring. It gave me a few techniques which I wasn`t acquainted with..
40-50+ logged miles per week. Wow, thats more than I expected.. It makes sense though, to prep for a half & to run faster at that distance. Looks like I need to log some more miles, in my weekly training.:OP
…that moment when you’re pissed off at yourself for not trying your best during workouts so you force yourself to go run a half marathon in temps climbing to 90 degrees as soon as you wake up to prove you still have running ability….haha haha abahaba.
I love this so much. Way to go Mom and son!! What an inspiration you are Mom❤️❤️
My first half marathon was last Oct…I did it in 2:05. The course was hilly. My next one is tomorrow. Will let know how I did. Oh and I am a female in my mid fifites.
I can feel it! every breath you take
I’ve run full, half, and 10k’s. but nowadays, getting older…. heavier…
and I am running again, you’re giving me a lot of motivation. thanks.
I just did a half marathon today! The 2020 super half marathon!
I won my age group 0-14
okay now I feel bad running over 30km long runs with only 60km weekly mileage:/ I still feel pretty good at the end of the runs and im also absolutely injury free. But how should you feel about those slow pace 10-15k runs, which are not dedicated to intervals, vo2max etc. but nonetheless build up your mileage? I feel kind of lazy running an hour at slow and steady pace…
Very impressed that someone ran a whole half marathon in an Olaf costume. How hot must it be in there?!
Why a running Channel have members who are even not fast? WTF
Helpful. Just did a 15k and next goal is Half. Question: intra-race hydration, energy gel….do most runners need it for the half or just you just worry about it pre-race? I usually avoid h20 stations and never have carried energy gels…..
You can walk a half marathon with no training. A lot of these runners are so slow I would hesitate to use the phrase runners.
I’ve got one month before my next HM. Current PB is 1:42:43, hoping to get under 1:40:00. Hope I’m being realistic
not that unusual actually, people tend to peak with their endurance with age! (yes, even 70yolds)
My first ever half marathon was last week, I finished in 2:08:30 so I need to take those 8min out of my way… The course was hilly and the last 3k were uphill. I started slow with a pace of 6:40min/km and at 18km I was running at 5:05min/km. Those last 3K just ruined my pace a little bit. I was very happy in the end though.:)
Lol I ran 10 mile for fun this morning, maybe I should do a half marathon
Increase the long run to 15-18 miles, increase overall weekly mileage, make sure easy runs are actually easy
the answer is always mileage. People think speed work makes you fast, being able to run longer and farther makes you fast
that so easy i did that first try 1:42:29 https://my.racewire.com/result/7129744
Love it!! I did a similar video on my channel a couple of months ago because I found these workouts so helpful when training for my recent 20 mile race!! I think people really overlook the importance of putting a bit of pace into a long run every now and again and assume just going slowly is all that matters. Super useful video as always sage
My suggestion for the runner at the beginning of the video.Do longer tempo at a slightly uncomfortable pace. 3 mins on 2 mins off, 4 mins on 2 mins off 5 mins on 2 mins off I’ve had success doing 2 mile reps 2×2, 3×2 etc. Increasing as your fitness increases. These workout helped transition to the longer races my current pr is 81:55
I do a 10-13km run every 2nd week or so, so not that intensively, and last Saturday I wanted to check if I could run the full 21km. After 13-14km my body told me that this distance is not what it was used to – pain calves, thighs etc etc. From kilometre 15, it became really painful but I forced myself to pull through and I was very glad to finish in about 1h47min. So I guess it is possible to run half a marathon without intensive training, but my legs hurt a lot during the run, and they hurt for a few days after it as well
After I finish any race I need water and a hug and maybe a nap too
over 19’41” for the 5K. This equals 41’30” for the 10K. 41’30” + 1′ = 42’30”. (42’30” x 2) + 4’30” = 1:29:30“. In my book this person has run about 2 minutes to slow in his/her half marathon. 3 possibilities: 1) we have a novice runner, for whom a 5K is easier to run well than a half marathon.
2) this person is better at shorter distances than longer distances. 3) this person should run more miles to improve the half marathon time.
I got a sub 2 hour half by about 4 seconds. Haha. I’m hoping to get a better time next month!
lets keep it at this if you run and finish a race no matter the time you did it!!
He is lucky to do a 91 minute Half on this prep. 5K time is too slow, and LSD too short to prep for Half
Honestly not that hard, did it at the age of 12 and got a 2:10.. didnt know i was running til the weekend off.. then the next year i got a 2:02
i’ll be running my first half marathon in November. can you share the training routine in details please as the cut off time is 2 hour and half to the the finisher tee
Yes, longer long runs. And do some long run with the last few miles at goal half marathon pace.
I’m running my first half in 4 days. I did my long runs at 6 min/km (9.40 min/miles) which didn’t feel too hard. A 10k I did last year was at 5 min/km (8.03 min/miles), other 10k/12k races were a bit slower around 5.20 min/km (8.35 min/miles).
Could I shoot for a sub 2? So 5.43 min/km (9.10 min/miles)? Found this video a little late and only incorporated 15 min of race pace in my last “long” run. I did track workouts and shorter tempo runs. I don’t want blow up at the start going out too fast, but I also don’t want to finish without having run my best.
Any tips would be appreciated!!
how long would tempo runs be for if extended these tips for a marathon?
I have my first half marathon after 7 hours. No training. How hard it can be……..let’s see
I learned about the first marathon and the messenger guy it was interesting
Thanks like the negative split run I have my first 50k in two weeks and have one long run (15m) left this weekend and will shoot for negatives on the last 7.
I’m a high school track and cross country runner who may run d1 college soon and I had an idea that seems kind of cool but kind of dumb. I want to gotta marathon with professional runners and hold up with all of them the first 3 miles and see how much attention I can get. Should I do that? I could still probably finish the marathon in sub 3 hour pace
Preparing to run a half in 30 days proves you have no real desire to perform. Incredibly foolish, naive and arrogant. A 5k training block is a minimum of 6 weeks.
I ran 1:22 Half marathon on only 20 miles a week! Any tips to get down to sub 1:15 without increasing my milage as I found that I cant run as fast on high milage
I love this, this year I ran my first Half Marathon, now on my 3rd Half
I just finished a half marathon yesterday and I’m dead and I trained so
Anna where can I get a little running bag like that? Like reasonably priced?
I can run a sub-20 5k, but my 20k time is 1:45, what should I do?
First half-mara coming up early in June. Currently doing 3 10k’s a week on around a 5.15-5.20 pace per Km. (In addition to Kickboxing and Taekwondo)
Shame he didn’t wait until the last 1/4 mile and leave her in the dust. His Mom could use that humbling experience. She’s too damn cocky in my opinion.
I did my first half marathon without watching this in 2hrs and 22 seconds last weekend, but please get me to run 1:20 sub half any suggestions
You girls have a wonderful chemistry between you all. Very special memories for you. Great video too!
Amazing video all the motivation i need for Sundays Brighton 2020 half marathon
I don’t think he should do a longer run than 11 miles, and maybe he should start slower and go faster in second half to be less tired, and maybe try running gels for his fathigue as well
i like that what ive learnt from this is slowing/pausing to pet the dogs is allowed
Well done Anna, that did look like it was awesome. For the better part of the last year I’ve been running Mon-Thur mornings, combo of 5 km (3.1 miles), track intervals, with 10 km (6.2 miles) on Fridays to finish off the working week. Last Friday I broke 15 km (9.3 miles) and am working up to the half marathon 21 km (13.1 miles), honestly can’t wait (glutton for punishment haha). Cheers
Anyone training for their first Half and stuck for time on their training just get to 7 miles and you’ll find the extra 6 on the day. When I Ran my first marathon I only got to 20 miles (Max Recommended distance) for training and found the extra 6 miles on the day. When doing a half Marathon your body is less tired at the 7 mile mark so it will be easier for you to get to the finishing line than Marathon runners who was also 6 miles short in their trainning. it’s all mentality and don’t worry about time it’s about finishing in your first Half Marathon
What sunscreen do you wear while out on a long run like this?
karlie, have you read that doing marathons can leave you with a substantively smaller brain at the end….if you havent, now you know.
Holly, thank you so much! I ran my first half in Fredericksburg VA in May and I am getting ready for my first 26.2 marathon in Las Vegas next year in April and I have to say, you guys have helped me a lot! I love watching your videos.
Well this gives me inspiration! I have a 10K in 2 weeks and I’ve only ever ran 4 miles….so I’m pretty sure if you guys can do 13 I can add 2 miles to my current run. Lol
Did a half recently and achieved a new PB at 1hr 48min. Got smashed by hundreds of people including oldies. There are always people fitter than you. Its no shame.
Without any training it’s hard to run a mile. The objective isn’t to be faster than anyone but your former self.
sage!!! what brand are those sunglasses your wearing? i need a really good pair of running sunglasses.
I’ve been doing halfs for going on 6 years and I’ve just upgraded to full marathons. I just did the Los Angeles marathon this past Sunday for the 2nd time and got shin splints for the first time lol. Felt the snap at mile 18 and I limped the whole way after AND even set a new PR by a whole hour lmao! I ALWAYS think about food. Everyone always asks “why do you run so much?” And I look them dead on and say “unlike some people I sniff food and gain 40lbs. If I want to enjoy whatever food I want without being obese I HAVE to run and I have to make sure the amount of miles exceeds the calorie intake” Lmaooooo you did fantastic! I wish I could travel out there and run that race!
Hi I have pace around 10:30 min/miles. I want to run sub 2 hr half marathon on 23rd September 2018. Its only one week from today. How I can do that?
I cant even THINK and run yet let alone TALK. Hahaha shes great
When I was 17 ran 1hr 16min it means increasing your miles, ok you need to run at least 60ks a wk. Do a long run once a wk longer than the distance say 25 ks with a low heart rate. Its about strength not speed. Twice a wk run with a elevated heart rate called a tempo run for 45 min but still not feeling out of breath. Natural ability is still the most important your training builds on that natural ability. British runner in the 80s Steve Jones who ran 2 hr 7 Chicago in 1985 always said you need to become strong before you get fast. As a rule when you build a house the Base is first then the walls and finally the roof. The base is your mileage that’s your strength the roof your speed work track sessions 400s 1k intervals. You build on your ability over time.
Holly can you guys do another video for treadmill running so I can have something to reference to when it starts to get cold out, such as technique and form? Thanks
My 21 year old son just “gubbed me” in The Great Scottish Run (Glasgow) by 10 minute and no training
I have the last laugh, he can’t walk today and stairs are a no-no
Thank you Holly, I needed this today, after I had a slower than expected run as I prepare for a half marathon this weekend. The mental thing was a huge factor. Thanks for reminding me I need to go into this with the right mindset.
Thank you for this helpful video on half training! Thanks from Canada for km.
More Long run, maybe some progression runs. Sprinkle in a couple km repeats.
Quick question, how much time should the average person running 4 times a week take to run a sub 2h HM time when starting off with a HM time of 2:19? Will vary from person to person but looking for a rough timeline if possible! Thanks! ♀️
I followed this marathon training “Zοrοtοn Axy” (Google it) for my first marathon. I had been able to accomplish my goal of a sub-4 hour marathon. Followed this training plan to the last detail and had the self-confidence I needed on race morning to have through 26.2 miles. What a good feeling! Highly recommended for the dedicated runner..
This is great but please don’t start training for a half marathon 30 days before the race, it’s a recipe for injury!!
i am going to run my first half maraton next summer!
Im 14 years old.
I love the videos.
I am 49, and in only my 5th run EVER, today, I did 13.5 km. It was strange, as the last 3.5k seemed to take forever, and my ankles seemed to start to hurt. I don’t think I was ‘pushing off’ the ball of my feet properly.
“How Hard Can It Be to run a half-marathon without any training?” It’s not how hard it is, it’s simply fucking stupid. Unless you need to get injured, then it’s a good solution to your problem.
Hey Sage I have a question for 5,000 meter runners would you suggest doing speed days in racing flats/spikes or would you say use everyday trainers? thanks keep up the videos.
1more emphasis on the “base training” phase of his HM preparations
2starting the HM slightly slower to avoid lactic acid buildup, keeping his/her speed for later in the run.
I always get the heaviest legs at mile 8. So glad I’m not alone!
Not hard at all i did it three days ago with no runing training at all… time of 2:04:55 which im proud of
like team trained a half marathon in 30 daysLike to see trined, my dear Klos❤️✈️
I ran a half marathon without training in 2 hours and 10 minutes
this would be my 5th half marathon. How important is to bring my own bottle of water and race with it vs. getting water at those stations. I’ve done a few half marathons where the stations are puddles of water making it very slippery and how much time should i factor out when stopping for water?? Thanks. Love your channel.
Long run question. Are you saying within the long run (at my slower pace) I should be throwing in 20-40 min at race pace toward the end of the run? thanks!!!
If you want you can learn from Unflexal instructions how to do workouts correctly.
My wife decided that she wanted to start her 30s off with a bang so we’re doing the Disney Princess Half-Marathon on the 23rd this month. We just did a 13.5 mile (walk/jog) in 3:15 so we know we can finish in time but I’m certain there will be tears at the end of the race. Before now we’ve only done a local 5K race (but we are regulars at Orange Theory Fitness!) so this will be a huge leap over what we’ve put ourselves through till now!
Sorry folks but damn near 75% of the population can do a half marathon without training if they really wanted too. They would be walking a lot but could do it. It just seems hard because most people live a very lazy and unchallenged life!
Thanks for posting this. I don’t know who you are, and this will sound strange but does your mom have a YouTube channel? Cuz I want to learn FROM HER
Fab well done Anna I’m doing my 4th Brighton 1/2 next Sunday, will try and smile as much as you did in the Great North:-)
I just did my first half marathon a few months back and I trained only twice, one 15km run and one 20km run but I played soccer a year before in the state league. My time was 1hr 42mins and I think it was out of pure adrenaline
Edit: while “training” my time in those two runs were completely different to this… 15km was 1hr 30mins and 20km was 1hr 55mins.
He also didn’t run 26.2 miles. He died, due to multipletrips, and routes that added up to be over 300 miles.,
I ran a Half marathon without that much training and still made it
But how about RESULTS!? Just showing off your brand new sportswear… dissapointed.
I’m doing a half marathon on Sunday most I’ve ran in past 4 months is 3km and I’m sick so haven’t been to school either
In September i ran my first HM @ 1:58:33 ( 5:33/km pace), without specifically training for it. Last year November i started running and in the meantime found my long-distance pace to be 5:45 where i feel i can go on forever. So when i went to Budapest for the HM, i went with the goal of sub-2h and did it. At the same time, i really met my limits for the first time, when i tried to push it on the last kilometer, but my legs completely refused to go any faster. That was something i’ve never felt before.
My brother was a running lover and I introduced him this marathon training courses “Zοrοtοn Axy” (Google it) a couple years ago, and since that time, he has been following the guidebook. He had been the 4th placer in a Nationals-level 12k race in this age group a week ago. It is best to go for this training program if you are get yourself ready for marathons and other distance training..
Virtually no one agrees that Pheidippides died after running back from the battle of Marathon.
Are you doing the dam half/10k/5k this year? On their website, I saw you on an image.
The fact that she loves running and coding just makes me love her..
Got a ballot place for this year today so buzzing now! even more so after watching this again I cant wait!
I just came across your channel and you inspire me so much. I joined my very first 10K race last November and I plan on doubling it this year and do the half marathon. For you to actual race and blog while filming that’s goals right there! Thanks for sharing!
Increasing the weekly mileage (5-10%)
-Track runs(400meter, 800meter) speed bursts
-Adding some strides once per week at tempo pace
She looks stupid…. That’s what happens when you have extra gold genes ( you become spoiled)
During my LSD I never had any cramping issues, but during my actual HM (did 2 already) I almost got cramped leg and I need to walk to prevent that.. as you mention, I think the reason behind this is my starting is too fast and I worn out pretty fast after 13-14km.. my best HM time so far was 2H14min, that was including 7 times walking during race.. next time I’m gonna start slowly first then build up speed after 10km
Thank you for that! you’re right, I should only focus on what I can control when it comes to my running form. From now on I’m going to use that philosophy vigorously
Amazing video. Thanks. I’m a 17 year old runner who has a 18:34 5K time and have never run the half marathon but will be in March. My mileage is increasing to around 45 miles and will up to 50 in a couple of weeks. I’m including tempo, long runs and speed workouts but my question is will this training coincidentally improve my 5K time?
I’m 13 and running a half marathon in a month. I mentioned my age because I can’t run a full marathon until I’m eighteen lol. At least one that’s near me. I only realized that after making a full training plan
My best half marathon result was 1:51:20 / than i was training with a group.. My last half marathon time was 2:14:00 i didn’t train with my group…and never ran hills when i was training
Bless this girl because I’m running one in a month too and this shows me it’s doable. LOOOL
I’m 14 and I’ve ran a 1:38:42 this hurts me to watch this more than my run.
Doing my first half marathon tomorrow and I’m hoping to get 2 hours and 30 minutes I’m 14 so I’m just hoping to get that
at one of my first ever running events i did the (for a newbie oh so common) mistake to take off too fast, and about a km in there was a spectator standing on the sideline shouting “run at your own pace.. run at your own pace” to the crowd of runners. that’s when it clicked and i stopped caring whether i’d be passing someone or being passed by anyone. I started focusing on my planned pace and had to drastically slow down.. i guess that he was the reason why i was able to finish the event (even with a personal best).
While this video has been a few years old, congrats on finishing.. so, now how hard can a full marathon be? 😉
Lmao Heineken isn’t a German beer. It’s actually from the Netherlands
I wouldn’t say 19’41 means that your speed is good, per se. Maybe there is some room for more endurance, but it’s going to be impossible to run a 1.25 half marathon with this 5k time. 11.5 miles is probably fine for a long run this is likely in the 90 minute to 2 hr range already for such a runner so I would not advocate concentrating on increasing the distance. Instead I would recommend three types of session:
1) long runs with final few km at half marathon pace (practice running fast on tired legs)
2) threshold runs
3) 1km repeats at 5k goal pace (build the speed)
i was a total coach potato and i ran my first half marathon without any training in 2014. it was the first time i used my muscles in my whole life. i finished the race in 135 mins and it cost me 5 toenails, painful cramps and shin splints. i couldnt even jog for a month after race. it was a stupid decision. luckily i met a running coach after race and he taught me many things about running, breathing, training, nutrition etc. he even allowed me to train with his elite group when i reach a point that i was strong enough to keep up with their warming up.
a year later i ran same course in 87 mins.
it’s possible to run a half marathon without any training, but it’s not a wise choice. i was lucky i didnt die there. you may not lucky enough to survive.
Great North Run 2019 is one of the worst medals I have. It’s all about the sponsors. Great crowd but lots of problem runners. Many runners lie about their predicted time so they can get back from the event quicker. Since the course is so crowded at the start anyway, these slow runners blocking the way of quicker runners is very frustrating.
He may be telling the truth about not running seriously ever, but he’s not a novice when it comes to Endurance races.
As shared by Robert in the comments below, he is an avid cyclist. He’s not a random couch potato.

If my weekly mileage is 80km (4x25km) and my long run is 25% of that, it mean my long run is the same as my normal runs…
Ayeee that 2 lil seconds of Machel Montano at the gym!!! Caribbean people show yourself!
I do try and do a lot of these types of workouts, but just wondering, would you want to do a type of work put that is a threshold workout for as long as you can? So if my threshold pace is 7:45, just see how many miles I can run at that pace, and regularly extend that when I do those types of runs?
Once again, phenomenal job! As with these runs, never give up this channel and training advice. I look forward to your videos..
Thanks Sage I run Halfs regularly and I often over eat (bad at carb loading)… can you post a video on long run feeding (or if any one can comment and add the an old link)!
Thanks again!!
1:51:30 today for my first half marathon.
Motivational story:I start and after half km a chest pain make me stop, uturn and going back home. Then i start slow pace heading home and i change my mind and i told myself to try 5k. After 5k (25min) start feeling better and i said myself:let’s go for 10k. Between 7th km and 8th km i tripped and fall all over the place done my left knee and i though that’s it. 3-5sec i was on the floor but i picked myself up and i said:if i will recover for next 2km I will try 21 km.
I felt tired for last 5km and very tired for last 100 m
I’ve only started running 10ks this year, once a week. My second half is almost always a negative split as I’m fully warmed up and in the zone by 6-7k
I have just finished my first halfmarathon last week. unbelievable..
hey sage. first off coming from an Irish person it’s pronounced “sh-peel” ☺
second have you any experience with road ultras? I’m doing a 40 mile road ultra next month my key workouts are back to back 12 miles, 30 miles. I’m doing the 30 miler at close to race pace.
do you think it’s a good idea to do these runs close to race pace?
He lied about being inactive he has a bike race results posted months before this race https://www.athlinks.com/event/37575/results/Event/438154/Course/657152/Entry/283554508
I’ve signed up for my first ever half marathon for October. This video made me excited and scared and thrilled to do it! I’m definitely going to cry at the end of mine:’) thank you for all your videos and for all the tips you give!!
This is nice movie I think. However, You should take instructions from Unflexal if you want to learn more about workouts.
This looks so fun! I really want to run a half marathon with support like this!
How many of those ‘3min surges’ would you recommend and how long rest in between?
Add more miles to your weekly long run, and run slower on your easy days so you can hit target times on workout days.
Sage, my first marathon is in September.. thank you for your videos.. keeps me focused and motivated
thanks for your training videos man! i incorporated your running tips for my first ironman 70.3 last month and i got 2:32 on my( first ) half marathon. my next goal would be a marathon so i’m binging again on your videos to get more strength in my legs.
If someone put a gun to my head and said run I could run a marathon
I’ve watched this numerous times, as a booster/motivator when things aren’t going so well (like when I was out for 7 weeks injured during lockdown) or just as ongoing inspiration have never run a half marathon distance but it is still something I aspire to do one day, be it a virtual distance or ‘actual’ event. Cheers Anna & great going! ♂️
I wish I had a running group like this:( I just run on my own. I would probably perform much better if I ran with others.
this video’s energy is infectiousloved it and love the strong female representation you bring to youtube Karlie!
videos are very informative. the HM training is ‘free’ but only when you’ve signed up.
My son last year 14 won his first half in the Johnstown pa half marathon ran a 1:22:43. He does not like to run in spring but doing Pittsburgh may6. I have set a time of 1:15 for him at this half marathon. Something to challenge him
I was looking forward to running the 2020 GNR, thanks a lot corona…
Thanks for this! Perfect timing! My first half is November 4th. I’m a month into my training.
Anyway you look at it, this is very impressive. I would not dare to attempt to complete a 10K, let alone half marathon. And I even run occasionally. This guy must have either an athletic background or he does other sports like biking.
I did ran a half marathon without training. But the pain in my shin, calf muscles and and thighs last for almost a week.
hey sage when would be the best time to add the longest long run of week. Is it better to start the week with the long run or end the training week with the long run?
