You show your face too much. We wanna see exercises not your dumbass face
His conditioning isn’t human! That much ballistic exercise would tear my body apart. I have been training for decades and I can still admit that.
At the end of this video he shows a one of the reasons as to why he was so dominant throughout his career. He lost came and back better each of the two times he lost. A match between him and McGregor would be an insanely different collision of attitudes as far as the way they conduct themselves in the treatment of opponents. Conor would be hard pressed to avoid being grappled and struck on the ground f course against GSP, but on the feet too he would get struck as GSP has an excellent super fast shot with his unique Karate style of striking and that superman punch, kick combo is so accurate. The UFC have dropped the ball so many times, and with a guy like GSP it is blindly embarrassing to not negotiate with the highest earner in his time not too long ago.
I agree with the other comment stating that I’d love to see more sample workouts from the program! Some of the moves I don’t really know what they are or how to do them and I already began googling and YouTubing but seeing you do the moves from your 12 week program that was just released would help IMMENSELY
Hi Jeff, do you do any training with a higher rep range? Like 8-12 reps
Dumb asshole. Which gym is gonna let us throw the ball like that.. its just gonna hit someone, or if not, just rattle the other lifters. Fucking idiot.
1. Deadlifts
2. Back squats with a pause
3. Hang cleans above knee
4. Overhead med ball throw
5. Med ball rotation throw
nothing…you get the genes you are born with…can’t “train” your way to thw nfl.
Clean press, front squats, star jumps, dumbbell dead lift jumps, cage dead lifts are the most powerful exercises for athletes and military veterans. And that is just the legs. Plus, resting is good, but shorter resting periods creates faster adaption for the body. Overload train you need rest up to maximum of 72 hrs (depend on the individual). This guy only talks about basic muscle training and not athleticism. Incorporate agilities and constant muscle confusions creates better results.
Do you have any advice for Osgood-Schlatters disease and how to stay fit with it? Please if you can help!!!
I would love to joinn the athlete program, but that cost is crazy. $50 a month, lus I already pay adobe creative cloud 19 a month… damn
Such nonsense. I’ll keep my Rings and skills training thanks.
Wow but how am i supposed to perform all of these i workout at home. I mean i got kettlebells, resistance bands, dumbbells and all but not this heavy equipment
Can I do my cardio right before my strength training to maximize muscle growth? Of course maintaining a caloric surplus.
Hey Jeff, love your videos man. I have a question. I work a busy schedule so most of the time I cant do both cardio and strength during one session. Can you still maintain the same weight if you do cardio before weightlifting? Like if I ran in the morning and lifted in the evening would I still gain wait or would that be sufficient for maintaining my weight? Currently at 170. Thanks!
Would you say this workout would be more suited for 55-100 meter sprinters and football skill positions rather than a 200-400 m runner?
I did my medicine ball throw and it landed on an old lady walking on the tredmill. I hope I get an athletic contract so that I can afford a good lawyer!
No TGU, Bent Press or Windmill? This guy is delusional, we move in 3D, we need to train in 3 Dimensions…
Solid thank you, i started power lifting again and am trying to fit everything together, i am also older at 47.
Instead of splitting everything i do full body, and 3 x 5, more of a stronglifts approach, Monday and Friday are power days, Wednesday kettlebell full body, and i also do HIIT cardio,. so far so good.
Kettlebell swings have the same movement as overhead medicine ball throws, and nothing is flying through the air.
Much here is good but I would have my gym membership cancelled if I threw a medicine ball over my head in the gym
Jeff how can I go down in weight, for example cutting weight for a fight but still look good as in shredded please answer? For example my weight I used to walk at was 85kg(188lbs) and I look sized up with muscle, now I focused on getting down to 78kg(175lbs) but wanting to prepare for my fight I want to weigh in at 71.5kgs(155/6 lbs) for lightweight and when I came down to 78 kgs I noticed a lot of muscle loss so I want to know how can I keep my muscle as I move down to 71kgs?
Chris what wud u say is good relative strength. How many times ur body weight
Hey Chris, I have wondered about how tall you are since you have a 44 vertical jump, do you think its possible for a 6 feet guy like me?
this is still the best ufc content ever made [primetime/countdown/embedded etc]
the only muscles i need for wrestling is left and right bicep
That room must smell really funky from the carpets soaking up all that sweat from you and your training partners.
What differences would you make in training for speed vs jumping?
I like all these! But my knee won’t allow me to squat that deep anymore:( Still worthwhile?
Wooow thank you so much is there a chance for you to do this kind of video for volleyball player
Even at his age maybe 1 guy Khabib can’t ground n pound and I see why nobody ever has
Who’s here after Khabib GSP hype?
Good list… really well done…. for the deadlift, though, I think the average person should use a traditional overhand grip, not over/under; that will develop better grip strength (as he mentions), and is more than enough for the typical weights most non-power lifters will be using. Thoughts?
This the information I am spend days trying to find.
I was focused on bodybuilding and now want to focus on boxing, bjj and wrestling while still trying to keep my size. This video was a great start..
Do you think it’s better to focus on two arts first? Or doing all three okay? I wanna get the most out of my training I don’t want to spread myself out too thin.
Also can I focus on wight lifting on Friday through Sunday.. Days I’m not training? I spend two hours doing boxing and grappling a day.. When I grt the gym before or after… I get home late and I feel that I’m over training.. And I’m losing muscle fast!!
Thanks for your help
This training lacks alot of involvement of the Lats, middle Traps, Chest, Shoulders, calves, arms (mostly triceps).
Not the best to become athletic in my opinion…
He great video,, I loved it. I like and subscribe your channel. May be check me out, i do the same kind of videos you do. Make sure to keep up the good work
he keeps jumping with weights could get him shorter. make sure there’s a point to his work outs instead of showing off his abilities. I know you guys are gay.
The Squat Y eeee, i like my chicken legs and with Long shorts over my Knees i can look Like a Hammer
Where’s the arms bro… This guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about!
Hey Jeff, first off I really appreciate the vid!! I was wondering what your thoughts are on this training split incorporating your workout split:
Sunday: Workout 1
Monday: Muay Thai
Tuesday: Workout 2
Wednesday: Muay Thai
Thursday: Workout 3
Friday: Muay Thai
Saturday: Rest
Alternate between LOW and HIGH rep ranges every other week.
CARDIO in the morning of Muay Thai training days.
You think this would work? Anything you’d do differently?
And lastly, THANK YOU for your channel. You are the man!!
Great content . Just a couple a questions for workout 2 and 3. Are you adding 5 pounds every week after or why the weight progression only for workout 1?
Great video, but lost me at that “medicine ball throw” stupidity. What’s with sane people coming up with such insane ideas? Is it to appeal to some retards in the fitness community?
What weight is ideal for these exercises? How many reps and or sets?
Hi does anyone know the song when played he started boxing? thanks
Please explain how one does a medicine ball throw in the weight room
I don’t understand how this guy is considered one of the best athletes in the world. He clean and jerks 75lbs, bench presses 135lbs, and squats 95lbs. My gym has females that lift heavier than that, surely, this guy has to be stronger than a girl.
Is there a video just like this but for Football instead? I’m in high school and i’m wanting to expand my knowledge and learn practical application. I am just really interested in why i do WHAT i do. Also, i stumbled across your channel today and you have very valuable and informative content.. Underrated Channel You guys deserve millions of subs!
I Think Top 5 Is Back Squat, Bench Press, C Deadlift, M Press, Barbell Row
I already do this and their a lot of fun they drain you quick but they work.
Just want to say that this channel is awesome. I’m a trainer/coach as well in the athletic performance industry and I think this channel is a great resource for creativity and education on training methods. To anyone watching these videos I highly recommend getting educated on the things they’re actually talking about. Understand it. These videos have taught me, but more so SUPPLEMENTED, the things I’ve learned from school and certifications. These videos are awesome, they’ve helped guide my programming and increase my performance as well as my athletes. Keep it up my man!
Been following this workout with slight tweaks for a few weeks now. Happy with the results. I would still rather listen to a bag of drowning cats than this soundtrack though.
So glad I found this channel, Steve and Jacob you guys rock!!
This is great man, always happy to see more content from you!
Superb! I have a plan to take a coaching from FitnessCulture. Just amassing a budget before starting and nonstop.
Gymnastics are is actually super hard…. Never tried it but i will sometime do u recommend gymnastic training for wrestlers? Or mma fighters
What about Pull Ups /Chin Ups, Burpees, Hanging leg raises, Press Ups? You mentioned Back squats but Front squats are athletic too!
If you guys havean’t tried out FC programs you’re missing out big time best program I’ve been on by far from Mobility, Workouts & Dieting much love to FC ❤️
The whole Fit Cult is much appreciated!
I haven’t followed a program yet but I watch all the videos and perform the excercises/ warm ups..
I’ve seen an increase in strength and flexibility since..
You guys rock!!!
Does the strength you get from barbell lifting translate a lot into MMA?
nice. almost the same as my work out only i throw power cleans into the mix and i do usually 3 sets of 5 reps of each movement and done.
Found this channel a couple of months ago, simply excellent content.
Hey Steve and Jake
Could you guys post a sample workout from the powerlifting program. I haven’t really seen anything about if from your channels or online.
Thanks
Hello im jon jones 6’4 205lb and my max bench is 600lb and i can sqaut 300 pounds
Is it true that if i start doimg deadlifts, i will stop growing? Im 16 and i can’t find anything on the Internet
Conor Mcgregor and GSP are like ying yang. They are completely opposite.GSP isn’t afraid to confess his fears, his anxieties and vulnerabilities before his fights and gives praise and respect to his opponents and doesn’t look past his opponents and faces them as big threats whereas Conor looks past his opponents, plans ahead, sees them just as stepping stones, puts them out of the way, doesn’t show fear,is actually super relaxed on fight day,is so confident he will win that he even announces his afterparty and next fight before the fight has even started.
GSP did this shit while McGregor is out there having some frat bro push his shoulders and playing hackey sack
I’m fine with the DL, Squat and Clean… but the ball shit needs to go.
Deadlifts (trap, sumo, conv, off blocks)
Squats (front, back, box)
Clean (floor, hang) (would replace this for clean and press)
Sprints (resistance, hills)
Chin Ups (weighted, bw)
I am a boxer and and im am a bigger kind of guy i would hope to train to be a explosive muscular type of boxer i just want to know what type of training i should be doing and what muscle type should i be training.. I dont want to build muscle for looks i want practical explosive muscle that is there for performance e.g Adrien Broner type
Hello,
i guess i have found out the best way(most efficient) way to train for health performance.
Just useTrapbar for any exercise
for example bench/shoulder press,
2nd train in all 3 diamentions 360degrees
What about trap bar the deadlift? I have sciatica is this a decent replacement for the straight bar deadlift? Thanks! Awesome video!
Why are there two different ways to add weight? What benefits do each have? Why switch them up instead of picking one?
It doesn’t matter how much you’re able to lift at whatever age you are. As long as you’re making progress, you’re doing good.
Oh I forgot to mention, can you do a video on competing. At what skill level should you be and how long does it take to get there. When are you too old and why? What happens to the body?
hey Chris, would really like to know more about the dorsiflexion series you were talking about. much love
Could you do this strength workout and then go strait in to 2 hours of must thai training?
Squats are the number one best lift for Athletes, but make sure you use perfect form ; not the form described and shown in the Video. Second, I think you will get better results with the Power Press over the Clean. Plus the Press is easier to learn and less risk of injury compared to the Clean. Third, for Athletes I like the Sumo Deadlift Form over the Standard Deadlift.
If I train strenght and kick boxing the same day, What do you think is better to train first?
I tried doing morning strenght evening kickboxing or strenght right after kick boxing. I’m confused on this point. I’ve just noticed that my strenght training, right after kick boxing lesson, is really week, I have not much energy left and I loose concentration. If I do strenght in the morning and 5-6 hours later I do kick boxing, I feel quite tired too.
I know that feeling tired when you train twice a day is normal, but I’d like to know what is the best combination in your opinion
Has anyone ever heard of the term “motor learning”? It is the specific neuromuscular adaptation to a particular activity. In terms of training, a hang clean will improve performance for just that a hang clean. It won’t transfer to any activity on the field. To improve performance on the field, you must improve over all strength and conditioning of the musculoskeletal system and then apply it to the specific skill required on the field. Our neuromuscular adaptations are so specific that think of it his way; ever try to type on a key board you are not used to and notice you’re much more inaccurate while typing? It’s the same exact activity with a minuscule difference in key spacing. So how on earth does Olympic lifting transfer to the field?
George’s best asset besides his athleticism is his humility. George you are an outstanding fighter, competitor and probably one of the best athlete out there who demonstrates SPORTSMANSHIP. Hats off to ya’ brother and may God bless all of your positive endeavors.
So how your traning schedule looks like? Can you please tell me?
Man if I was a Rugby player I would be dreading week 5 of block 3 where we bench 1000% of our 1rep max for 2 singles
Damn, you look fast:O
What are your 100, 200 and maybe 400 PRs? (I’m not expecting world champs times of course, but they most be some seriously fast ones:P 😉 )
So basically guys you need to do body weight training so you are comfortable moving around with your own weight because if you cant control your own body weight then you wont be able to control it when you get stronger because you couldnt even control it before hand
You got any tips you can offer for overcoming the fear of sprinting.
Pulled my hamstring in late April of this year. And started playing soccer again but I’m scared to go full 100 on a sprint:/
Great video Chris. Been doing squats with bands since they are recruiting more type2B fast twitch muscle fibers. Can now run a 40 in a 4.4!
Hi, I am from India I am 5ft 10-inch weighing 70kg I need a good exercise chart to build muscle and good physic.
What’s the point of driving through your heels on the power clean from hang, when you don’t even make contact with your leg?
He’s just yanking that shit up.
Do u think there is diminishing returns in stregnth training in relation to speed for mma like if I get my bench up to 315 or even 405 I’d potentially be a lot slower puncher cuz of all that mass I’m lunking around
GSP is the true GOATDominated and cleared his division, won titles in 2 divisions, never ducked anyone, won a second title after a 4 years retirement and most important he never tested positive to steroids or any other banned substances!! GSP is the true Greatest of All Time!!
You dumb dumbs are really questioning Loren landow you know nothing
Love his mentality and admire his desire. This man is a great inspiration to me and a great one to immaculate
Gsp is like a main character in an rpg that’s at level 99 with maxed out stats lol
Question Chris, we all know that muscles need a day or two to repair themselves after a work day, but what about joints? Is there a thing such as joint overtraining? Can I train my ankles everyday?
Thank you very much from Thailand. I am a rugby player. I will use this program to training for myself.
Surprised at the poor form of the squat and bench press, esp since he had a coach there.
does all shit and still can’t knock a motherfucker out
o but he can still wrestle
GSP was ahead of his time. All mma fighters are doing this shit now
I found this article online a while back. I really like that it breaks down the style and purpose of the lifts that you should be doing.
https://bestmmagear.com/weight-lifting/
YOU are in the video more than the model who was showing how to exercise…put the model on video more than your talking face
Jeff, my vocation is a physical therapist (retired X9 years) and now I instruct on a private basis. When I went to Las Vegas and trained for 3 years Couture’s saying was “the best never rest.” So, I did what others were preaching, namely double and triple splits ( 3 workouts per day ). Here is what you do to yourself by OVERTRAINING. I am 63 now, older than Randy by 5 years, and I took a blood test that revealed kidney damage. The problem, according to my nephrologist was that my kidneys could not filter out all the toxins I produced and I hit a wall that knocked me out cold for weeks. Heavy weight training followed by another split of anaerobic cardio of say 5-9 5 minute rounds vs bags/ sparring gave me stage 3 kidney failure. This means my kidneys were operating at 40% of max! No more heavy lifting in combo with anything and I had to cut my other MMA training by 50% or I would be looking at possible dialysis or a kidney transplant. They modified by diet and I will get better, but never fully. LESS IS MORE my friend. This was a VERY important vid. Also, chronic injuries create a lot of waste so take care of injuries asap. Thanks Jeff. So, as a P.T. PhD I can backup everything that you said about weight training with studies and literature. You KNOW what you are talking about, no doubt. If barbells are causing shoulder problems, and they will, switch to dumbbells. Overhead press is counterproductive as it is not functional in grappling or MMA…it will destroy your rotator cuff as will bench press.
Man, I wish i was 15 years younger I’d love to just train like this.
with this program you can build a muscular upper body or this program is more for speed and explosivines?
Finally!! An mma fighter that sees the values of Heavy weight training! And it’s one of my favorite Youtubers? Friggan awesome. Keep up the great vids!
that mit work was overrated you don’t throw punches that close to people
Gsp boxing skills and strike training compared to Rhonda’s when she was training for Amanda, who’s is better? Could what happened to rowdy happen to gsp?
Still waiting for the training regime involving needles and glutamus maximus
George is doing something different this time, the guy is always evolving
“gymnasts are real deal…gymnasts are total athlete…gymnastics and bjj perfect combo” reality= jab jab jab jab jab jab jab jab jab jab Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz points win
Wow, you can really see his OCD at the end. He really takes preparation to the extreme, and I can see how much it wore on him.
I love how balanced your workout is. For every movement, you have an opposing movement. For example: bench presses and rows; presses and pullups.:)
Quick question how many off days do you think are required to recover properly when training explosiveness and agility and stuff like that I understand that they are important but I almost feel guilty whenever I take a day off because it’s just the fear of someone doing stuff while I’m not. Thank you.
his boxing is so average the same 3 combinations over and iver and over again McGregor is way smaller would kill this dude
What’s the name of that thing he is using while he stretch both his legs forward anyone know???
Sooo what happened to “I don’t believe in strength and conditioning” on Jre podcast
Hey Jeff, quick question. How much weight are you lifting here on bench? Have you increased since then?
bench press increases the upper body strength or pull ups? which one is better and build maximum strenght even if its weighted pull ups against lifting weights?
I love the new crop of fighters out there today [McGregor, Romero, Rousey] but GSP was and still is the definition of well-rounded. The guy excelled at so many aspects of martial arts and combat sports in general it’s amazing.
@ 00:56 Thank you for mentioning this. I’ve seen so many videos on the proper stance, and all have their own recommended “right” way to execute the squat.
im currently 220lbs and around 25%-30% body fat, i’ve decided to go on a cut and get to 195lbs. i also want to improve my flexibility and mobility for mma and my cardio vascular system as its very poor what do you suggest i do as i also want to make strength gains and have enough energy in the week for mma training
L sits muscle ups and head stand push-ups ( yes head stand push-ups hand stand push-ups involve being on an elevated object and your head going below you hands), I love seeing him do calisthenics.
Train like an athlete hasn’t Jeff cavalier been saying that for years.
Just found this channel, love it already. Clean cut information and clear engagement in your comment section! Keep up the good work, you gained a subscriber!
wow.very clear and understandable.
as a young personl trainer its super help!
thanks
I currently have shoulder problems, Should i come back to training just doing pulling exercises or do equal amounts of pulling and pushing?
YOU LEGIT STOLE the font from Lil Durk’s OTF LMAOO this man a fraud
Hey Jeff, should I be doing weight training and then mma training every other day or break it up into 2 sessions one in the weights in the morning and mma at night?
What’s that song called that plays when he’s hitting the bags
@mmashredded hi mate I’m having a amateur mma fight. I find when I’m punching my stamina in my ribs and shoulders is really not good. I seem to get rib cramps really quick. Is there any exercises I can do at home with little equipment that will help with this. I’m 35 btw. Also Amy other strength exercise will help.
Why do I feel the gymnastics and weighted jumping squats contributed to his knee problems…:/
This is definitely better than touch butt. I understand Portal’s philosophy to movement but some of his exercises just seem like a plain waste of time. Smacking people with the pool noodle? Please.
Love the videos!!! What is your rest times between sets for these workouts?
Nice presentation I prefer front loading for squats and driving off both heel and toes
Douglas Stone CSCS
I’m preparing for another mma fight in 9 weeks and I’m moving up a weight class. Should I be using this program the whole time or stick to more anaerobic exercises leading up to the fight
GSP “i only lift weights for looks” lol just lol @ this fking bullshitter
Did you feel the benefits with your strength? Im going to try it how many times aweek would you do this in fight camp?
Good stuff, Jeff. Joel and Mike are solid choices to learn from. I’ve interviewed both of them. They’re good dudes too. Joel’s info is especially important for combat sports conditioning. Have you played around with HRV to measure your allostatic load?
I just tried all of these. I pooped myself twice, peed myself once, my left testicle exploded and I killed 3 people doing the overhead medicine ball toss. Other then this, I feel much more athletic.
Hey man,I have started training kickboxing. I was wondering if weights will make me slower and start telegraphing my punches. Would love to hear your thoughts on it. BTW, love ur content.
Thank you Jeff for the straightforward and informative videos as always! Aside from great form on the lifts, as a former 24-hr Fitness member, it was beautiful to see a well-kept squat rack not constantly occupied by a bunch of macho noobs.
The pause in the bottom of the squat is hard on the patellar tendon, and I don’t recommend it. Especially with heavier weights. Most people will begin to feel pain in the tendon origin or insertion after just one session. A smooth transition is healthier.
Lol i see they r using bullshit cross fit wieghts whoa will say the clean and snatch over all is one hell builder exercise awesome for traps and shoulders my opinion
When I get faster in sprinting, My stride cycle changes a bit instead of proper cycling my coach tells that I start pounding the ground and move in somewhat “thigh switch” drill/less cyclic manner. Anyone know what I can to do combat this?
Interesting; I no longer do martial arts but I swim as soon as I finish weights. Surely doing lifting and cardio on alternate days will wear you out because you’re doing both 3x a week?
I wonder if we’ll ever see a parkour athlete transition to MMA and how it will play out, George is here doing flips and cartwheels and shit.. and he’s among the best ever
Nice, I’m a fan of five by five programs, except for the amount of time it takes to do full body
Splitting it up like this should help with that, while still being effective
Just to clarify, lower body one day each week?
“Me role model, me no swear, me just choke polemic unconscious to be a good role model, je dis.
As long as his leg strength and mobility aren’t an issue then he should do great.
Hey jeff you much look bigger on this video, than now you are much leaner
This guy makes sense to me more than a lot of other mma fighters, he is balanced in his exercises. A lot of people think because you fight weight lifting doesn’t match up with fighting but it does because if you prioritize it and functionalize it and add cardio it makes sense perfectly. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Can you do some videos on doing the toe drag start technique?
Guys, listen to Chris. He knows all about “shhtrength” and the how to train for the different types of “shhtrength”.
peace, watch the first video on my channel. please encourage and subscribe
Hey man, any tips how not to be stiff and rigid when sparring while incorporating weight training? I get really sore and stiff after weight training although I stretched thoroughly. it just seems the soreness is counterproductive to my fight performance.
Thanks much!!!!! Looks like theses exersices get alot done for the body!!!!
I wish it showed his diet more. Diet = 90% of fit physiques.
I love this, very educative but I have a question. Do you think this same pattern can be employed when also cutting weight for a fight?
Hey Chris, i saw at 3:38 that you didn’t go full depth with the squat? When should i go deep and when not?
Hi jeff. Do you know how much weight can be gained on this program? I’m looking to gain around 20 pounds to move up a weight class in MMA and cannot decide between this workout or Starting Strength workout. Thank you Jeff.
This is a great video thank you!! I noticed you didnt say anything about rest times inbetween sets. How long do you rest in between each set?
I was waiting to know how many session a week? Or these exercises are all done in one session?
Info overload. Thanks. Will need to watch this a bunch of times
I may have missed it, but did you mention anything regarding rest in between sets?
Clean with bended elbows is not “clean”, hips should drive barbell, not the elbows, elbows needs to be straight and in front when driving barbel and then lock them in front. Bad exercise example when bodybuilder is trying to show Powerlift movements:)
One advice replace yates row with pendlay row, much more effective for athletes. Cheers
Weightlifting is great for MMA/boxing…..but calisthenics/bodyweight is more important….guys like mike tyson,mayweather,mcgregor,etc…..all these guys focus more on calisthenics/bodyeeight
everybody riding his dick in the comments knows hes a cheater right?.. he puts vaseline on his back so that when youre grappling its hard to grip. hes no champion
Good video, but please do not imitate the hang clean. Very poor form and he was catching the bar with his wrist.
Obviously you need to take enough time to learn how to do the clean properly, but once you do, the clean is absolutely the best lift for developing athleticism. It requires using all the major muscle groups in one explosive burst, as one does in sports, but just as importantly, the clean trains the NEURO-MUSCULAR system to fire along the correct pathways through the body’s core strength, increasing coordination, explosiveness and reflexes.

Im primarily a grappler in wrestling and BJJ would this still be a good a good program for me if im trying to bulk up, or is just strictly for mma fighters
But according to his old interview he doesn’t lift weights to be a better fighter… Just to look good
Hi Chris wanted to know how you got so lean. I remember in the strength camp days you were pretty thick but now you look lean and athletic perfect physique
If i do strengh training. Does that mean i should not to cardio the next day? Eg running
fucken George I got mad respect for this former fighter if he doesn’t fight anymore I well still support him 100%
people underestimate simple weightlifting because it doesn’t have the appeal of doing silly less efficient exercises and workouts that look cool. if you can squat heavy, press heavy, and deadlift a lot while maintaining mobility and cardio, you’re going to be a hell of an athlete, and the strength and power you generate from those exercises will carry over a lot more when practicing your striking and ground game.
Respect do that guy.Hes a every good role model for youngers..
THE CHANNEL IS AMAZING BRO KEEP IT COMING, THANK YOU FROM LONDON CITY
Top 5 exercise for athletic performance
1) Sprints
2) jumps
3) Med Throws
4) explosive plyos
5) specific strength related to sport
Please lower the volume! Trying to focus on what you’re saying is difficult with the music so loud.
I’m going to copy this workout cheers mate, I’m also going to be doing boxing and bjj
Amazing…. The real deal… great athlete, one of top 5 MMA fighters of all time, very smart, introspective, humble, mature, great role model… Thanks for everything, Georges…
All this and alot of his fights go the distance where as Jones, Silva, and Conor can end fights quickly gsp is good but overrated
You mention “Dorsiflexion Series” as part of the warm up. Where is this material/video? Thanks!
Hey Jeff, if I should avoid cardio for 24hours after wheight lifting how shall I do Muay Thai training, isn’t Muay Thai or MMA training kind of a cardio thing?
Greetings from Germany
Sensei, do you find for pursue for strength starts slowing down your technique? I’ve been doing cardio like hill climbs and rowing out of fear of slowing down
How about if your trying to lose weight and maintain strength? Would you rather focus on dieting or the workout?
Hi i notice there was only progressions for the 1st workout, what about the progression on 2nd workout (Squats and Deadlifts) and on 3rd Workout (Pull ups and shoulder press)?
Shiy gymnast are incredible…u kidding me your core has to be 1000 percent….
I had to do a double take on your pull ups…I thought you had put your weights elsewhere
I didnt notice exactly when you came back but man, while your content was always good, the stuff youve been putting out lately since your return is absolutely phenomenal. Obviously you dont have ten tears of content yet like some others, but in terms of quality of whats there, youre one of the best training channels on YT.
Thanks Jeff!
Dude you met Seanchia. Awesome. I’ve learned a lot from you. I’m grateful for the videos my friend.
Do never a Hang Clean like the Model this is Bullshit go to a Weightlifting club and learn it right.
Great video. Can you make a video in the future explaining how to incorporate strength and conditioning to your schedule as an mma fighter? With so many different aspects to train I find it difficult to understand where mma athletes find the time to train all these different aspects.
If I deadlift, I should wait 48 hours to squat? or just to deadlift again…
More videos on exercise and routines! I’m really confused by this if you can answer me please. How often should I train what. I do jogging and biking for 2 hours every day, 1 kickboxing class, 1 grappling class. And now I’m gonna add strength conditioning, is this to much?
