Looks SO good! We don’t have Trader Joe’s in Canada. Everything from there looks good though!
Looks yummy . Going to try this. Have to hold the onions. I no longer can eat them. Like how you are trying to bring travel experience to us.
Amazing. Very tasty. Best Greek Salad I’ve ever tasted outside of Greece.
ok John,in oz we love a take away food called a ‘CHIKO ROLL’ bit of sauce, beautifull, check em out,an as we say in the business, roll home with a chiko, cheers mate.
I made this for family a couple of nights ago, fantastic salad, great combination of ingredients, red wine vinegar, olive oil, paprika just perfect!
This is amazing!!! I made it today. I added Garbanzo beans for some protein. The flavors and the texture is fantastic!!
Hi Chef John, just wondering whether the spoon you used to taste with, is the same spoon you mixed with again… Guests??
Nice salad creation. Inspired me to have a big salad for lunch today! I often reuse jelly jars or tomato sauce jars instead of buying Mason Jars. A number of them have the same mouth size as a Ball Mason jar so you can use those lids. Thanks for the healthy and tasty inspiration!
Looks very yummy and as you say so many options to change things up. I would use ham as not a fan of salami
You can usually find the blue mason jars at target. All different sizes. I use small for summer drink glasses and the large for vases.
Do you have a PO box, or other address where I might send you something?
Love your Talenti shaker. I reuse mine too.
Salad looks delicious!
I was finding right salad and finally i find some salad with ingredients what i have home
Just had to say some of us dont eat onion due to the fact we are allergic to onion.
Check out the recipe: https://www.allrecipes.com/Recipe/267974/My-Big-Fat-Greek-Salad/
All the thing in greek salad is the leftover juice from tomato and olive oil with the feta cheese for doing “papara” with the bread. Chef i love your channel
Ok I just realized how cool the shaker is… really of course I missed it the first time but really it’s ah very practical…. like horse radish mustard!
Looks great. Love these salads. Calories be damned! More feta please…
Wooow Our star Chef actually announced it is a FAT salad… Brave, very brave our favorite Chef Cayenne is…. I love when he says “the step is optional but also mandatory” *Touché…
Chef OCD. Lol So long as you don’t start yelling and swearing.
I would like to add some cooked orzo to it. How much would be a good idea and I would I update the amount of dressing?
A long long time ago when I went to Laval University I would survive on what they sold as greek subs… They actually where Greek salad in a submarine bread… I can still taste them.
made it last night for a workplace potluck. Pretty good salad. I used mint in addition to the oregano just because I had it. No wrong answers on this one but the basic formula is a winner.
As a greek, I have only one comment. Try green Bell peppers. Their slight bitterness is essential 😉
Omg! I do use mason jars and they just happen to be aqua! I love using them for my overnight oats parfaits! Thanks for the idea to use them for salad dressing!
I’d add more onion, and skip the olives I ate olives when I was a kid, but I seem to have outgrown the flavor.
Where do internet chefs find all these beautiful multi-colored tomatoes? I can never find them! I’m dying to make a multicolor tomato tart
I’m Greek and I make my salads almost exactly like this…. I prefer to only let it sit for about 5-10 minutes in the fridge and I use lemon instead of vinegar. It’s also great to add quinoa (which is totally un-Greek, but really fantastic too:)
Use one fucking tone of voice stop going up and down. Its so fucking annoying
Great video as always Chef John! This salad is so great to take into work, it’s got me through a lot of night shifts for sure, it’s so refreshing and healthy. My husband who travels with his job also always packs plenty of this in a cooler bag. Every single ingredient in this Greek salad is so delicious. The cherry tomatoes add such a lovely sweetness and with the Greek olives, oregano and feta cheese… Scrumptious!:)
Can I skip the calamata olives or whatever they’re called? Not sure I would be able to get them
Omg I got the most horrific anti-cruise ad before this video! It’s so disappointing that google allows that!
Tarpon Springs is so close to where I live and it’s a Greek community in Florida. I love going to there for food!
Gorgeous and so tasty. I’m wondering I can add some parsley and mint to mine.
This salad looks wonderful, but as far as I can tell it takes anywhere from two to twelve hours to prepare.
This is why my Greek salad never tastes as good as in restaurants. I’ve looked up so many recipes. No one gives these tips. Thank you Chef John!
Too much salt salt in cucumber salt in salt salt in cheese other than that it looks reflect
I won’t let it sit for an hour or overnight I would eat right away
The first time i made this i served it with some Greek gyros from arbys the second times gonna be with the Greek lemon chicken
The aqua mason jars are fantastic. Got mine on Amazon. I use small for parfaits and overnight oats and big ones for layer salads for lunch.
That was a warm show and had real nice flow! Great angle shots to. Thought the healthy salad would be great idea to add to my diet routine before a big cruise!
Can you please do a video on the different types of salt and why and where you would use them?
Brought this to a friend’s house today and it was a hit! Left with an empty bowl.I used Roma tomatoes and crumbled feta. Also only had dried oregano, but it was still great. Chef John wins everytime!
To little feta and a little to much cucumber and paprika (bell pepper) is not usually in a greek salad
That salad looks so great! Vegetarians could add an egg instead of salami, and vegans could go for a nice lentil! Excited to see the apps!!
Looks amazing! I’m definitely making this and adding some fresh parsley and oregano or maybe some dill. Also I always rinse my onion after cutting it up to mellow it a bit. I love onions .
Black and green olives are exactly the same. The blacks are processed for a longer time.
Those little yellow tomatoes are the very best of the entire family.
How much you wanna bet he cuts the salad up before he eats it?
beautiful! we don’t have trader joes here sadly but everything would be at the grocery or walmart anyway!
We tried this recipe today and the family says it’s a keeper! Thanks for another great recipe
Looks absolutely gorgeous. I’m jealous that I can’t eat it, lol. Allergic to cucumbers and feta cheese and absolutely despise olives and red onions. Why do the most beautiful foods have to be so unfriendly to me? lol Still, you get a view and a like and a comment because it just looks so dang purty!:D
This is the best recipe I’ve found for this! Thank you so much! What brand of wine vinegar and olive oil do you recommend?
At the 6:55 mark I was screaming at the monitor, “Where’s all the feta?!!! YOU FORGOT THE……!!!” but was pleasantly stifled at the 7:00 mark:))
I think that Cayenne pepper in everything is a trick, to make us comment about that on every video. Smart move chef:D!
I’m surprised at you, chef John, not nearly enough feta…no beets, anchovies, peperoncini..,
That’s a pretty big tablespoon of salt I hate dull knives‼️a salad with no lettuce… wow and it is beautiful ‼️‼️‼️
Perfect thing to bring when you were supposed to bring something to a party and you go:
8:03 I thought it was next weekend. And your wife: No, it’s this weekend
My mom made this salad and it was absolutely delicious. I will ask her to make another one today.
Chef, I just made this beautiful salad. Thank you for the recipe. And yes, salting the cucumbers and letting them sit for a bit made a wonderful bit of difference.
