PREPRINT: Chloroquine as a Potential Treatment and Prevention Measure for the 2019 Novel Coronavirus: A Review

Here I review the mechanisms of coronavirus infection and chloroquine (and its derivatives). The paper then reviews 13 separate studies that have shown the in vitro (not in humans) efficacy of CQ in inhibiting various species of coronavirus, including 2 studies specifically studying CQ/HCQ and SARS-CoV-2. (See the summary table at the bottom).

Again, this is a preprint and is in no way a medical recommendation. I am not a licensed MD or PhD, although I am matriculating into medical school this coming fall. I am looking to disseminate this information, and these studies, as widely as possible so as to encourage research into its use further.
