Vitamin B12 is a nutrient that plays many essential roles in your body. The RDI for vitamin B12 ranges from 2.4 mcg for adults to 2.8 mcg for breastfeeding women.Vitamin B-12, or cobalamin, is a member of the water-soluble family of B-complex vitamins. It’s required for normal function of nerve cells, DNA production and your body need vitamin B-12 to make an adequate number of blood cells. For reference, the recommended daily intake (RDI) of vitamin B12 is 2.4 mcg for both men and women, though pregnant and breastfeeding women have a higher need (11).
Scientists agree that a normal level of vitamin B12 in your blood is 200 – 900 picograms per milliliter(200-900 pg/ml). Test results showing less than 200 pg/ml signal vitamin B12 deficiency. For elderly adults, the recommended vitamin B12 level is much higherTest results showing less than 500 pg/mlindicates B12 deficiency. You need 2.4 micrograms of vitamin B-12 each day. If you are pregnant, your recommendation goes up to 2.6 micrograms, which increases further to 2.8 micrograms while you are breastfeeding, explains.
There is no need to take very high doses of vitamin B-12. There is no data to suggest that very high supplementation levels are any more effective at boosting a person’s immune system or bodily.Since your body doesn’t make vitamin B12, you have to get it from animal-based foods or from supplements.
And you should do that on a regular basis, because your body doesn’t store vitamin B12.Vitamin B12, or cabalamin, is water-soluble, meaning the renal system filters the vitamin from blood along with water, so it is difficult to build excess. If you do build an excess of the vitamin, it is not necessarily negative: The body can store enough B12 in the liver that those with maximum stores can go years without ingesting it at all.Vitamin B-12 may also protect you against cardiovascular disease.
As a senior, you may need to supplement your diet with a form of vitamin B-12 that’s easier for your body to absorb. In some cases, you may require larger doses of this nutrient to prevent the health complications of a B-12 deficiency. The amount of vitamin B12 you need each day depends on your age. Average daily recommended amounts for different ages are listed below in micrograms (mcg): What foods provide vitamin B12? Vitamin B12 is found naturally in a wide variety of.
On average, you have enough vitamin B12 stored in your body to last about three to five years. Some medical conditions may prevent the absorption or storage of vitamin B12, making supplementation. The recommended daily intake of vitamin B12 in healthy men and women is 2.4 micrograms. Expectant and breastfeeding women need 2.6-2.8 micrograms.
As you grow older, you may need to take a daily supplement of up to 1,000 micrograms due to a lowered bodily absorption rate.Even though the recommended dietary allowance (RDA) for B12 is only 2.4 micrograms (mcg), some supplements provide 10,000 mcg per serving, or 416, 666 percent of the RDA. That amount of B12 daily for a long time can have potentially serious effects.
Video of the Day Volume 0%.The amount of vitamin B12 you need each day, or recommended daily allowance, depends on your age. 9 to 13 years old, you need 1.8 micrograms each day. If.Vitamin B-12 plays a crucial role in the body.
It helps to produce energy, red blood cells, and DNA, and it supports neurocognitive health. When a person has too little, they are at risk for heart.

Heres one for you to analyse and explain (if there is an explanation for it lol)…. Microcytic Megaloblastic Anemia….. Deficient in B6, B12, Iron and Folate.
Dave Asprey recommends to take up to 5000 micrograms daily, do you agree? Also he recommends to take 800 micgrograms of folat (5-mthf quatrofolic), otherwise taking b12 withouth folat longterm causes braindamage, do u agree?
I found out my levels are at 60 today and I’m 32 weeks pregnant. I’m getting shot tomorrow. Is it very dangerous
When I take 5000 micrograms a day, it it better to take them divided over the day? I have once you can put under your tongue, I can thake them with me to Uni and work and put one under my tongue every 3 hours no problem, one of the nuggets have 1000 micrograms.
I’m guessing you are over in the UK and maybe there is different versions of B12 product available there. It looks like the one you have a photo of might be Solgar brand by the packaging, but you don’t show the label so I can’t tell for sure. When I do a search for 100mcg cyanocobalamin, I get just one hit on Amazon from a brand called “Major” which I’ve never heard of before and has zero ratings. So I’m just wondering where others in the US have been able to find a reputable product of this kind?
Animal products are fortified with B12. Its a microbe found in untreated water.
First:D this series about B12 is very interesting my friend! I always thought they were not enough detailed information on b12 on youtube and you really bring something here! I take b12 daily but don’t really watch exactly how much i take. I will change that!
do you think it’s good to mix both types of b12? like one day cobalamin and the other day methylcobalamin?
Clear as mud, if only I didn’t have B12 deficiency I’d be able to understand that.
What is Erectodom Secrets? Does it work? I hear many individuals solve their erectile dysfunction problem with this popular erectile dysfunction treatment.
“Imagine an alcoholic strict vegan with pernicious anemia, he has left the hospital for terminal ileum resection because of Crohn’s diseases. He’s now going to eat some sushi to get fish tape worm because he cannot have terminal ileum diseases if he doesn’t have a terminal ileum”
LOLOLOL
AFAIK, being celiac (issues caused by gluten/wheat), can cause issues with absorbtion, plus Proton Pump Inhibitors (used to treat excess acid).
I have just subscribe to your channel it’s the most calming an very informative video i have listen to. This is excellent work here once again i really give compliments so you can be very proud of yourself.
Most people vegan Vegetarian or not do not ingest B12 at all unless its fortitfied in the food its self why do you treat B12 as a Plantbased diet problem? If you dont wash your fruits and vegetables in nature (No GMO’s and no pesticides ) you’ll get B12 or if you eat animal large intestines…. And you dont need that much of it.
Your the best thanks alot…just one point in 8:26 its methionine synthase not homocystin
Can i take dolo neurobion? I have a hemophilia b my joints are always in pain but since i take the dolo nuerobion the pain stop, pls reply i really need to know if i can take this vitamin daily, thank you so much:)
Very good lecture, but i would add one VERY important thing missed.
B12 is also bound to Salivary R-Binders…You need pancreatic enzymes (Trypsin) to dissociate the R-binders and thus give B12 a chance to bind to Intrinsic Factor.
Good lecture! very well done
The numbness in my hands is caused by the market drop, go vegan tell the Dr no meds needed; I’m putting a vegan sell order against big pharmaceutical
IM IN LOVE WITH THESE VEDIOS, you are a life savor thanks a lot!
every one says b12 deficient, but no one says at what levels they had symptoms. mine was174
Great way to learn I am a Nurse but am having B12 injections, yes to sore tongue horrible fatigue etc
Mostly great information but once loading injections injections stop symptoms may returns. Best to see how your doing as may need for a lifetime at regular amount depending on how severe symptoms are and how quickly they return.
Not all damage is iIrreversible and so treatment should be aggressive and long-term shots
some are lucky enough to switch to all or sublingual.
Don’t base your diagnosis purely on B12 serum look at homocystine and MMA as a certain level is not a gold standard and is set too low and range should probably be around 500-2000 for better health.
Beware that supplements high dose b complex vitamins can make u to much irritable and mad and u start making problems. If u notice this side effect stop taking them
Great video. For those who still have a stock of methylc, how much is the dosage on daily and weekly routine
Thank u, it’s very useful
But i have a question
What the difference between macrocytic anemia and pernicious anemia? Both of them have a deficiency of vit b12
There is no evidence humans ever got there B12 from eating dirt, the animals that are herbivorous don’t either they are able to absorb it due to having large lower intestine’s or eating there poo. 2 large eggs will give you 22% of your B12, 100 eggs? And a recent study showed 92% of the vegans they studied had a B12 deficiency. Only 5% who are meat or animal products had a B12 deficiency. Helpful video in ways to get B12 if you’re vegan. But lot of false info basically humans shouldn’t be vegan.
Osmosis is now copying this video so sad to see. Hit report!!
i testetd and i have b12 deficiency. if sombody has similar symptoms then let me know. i started with ibs C and i try to fic that with diet by eating fiber and less meat and mostlynplant abased. then i have insomnia once or twice in 8 months.then i had serious insomnia and sleep apnea. i went to doctor and tested i had b12 deficiency. if any bos has similar story then let me know.
Hi, very nice video! in my area I only find up to 1000μg of B12, does that mean I have to take it twice per week? isn’t that even better than the rest of the options?
Do you supplement coq10 daily 100-200 mg since by age 30 there’s huge significant loss especially kidneys and heart.
Astaxanthin 4mg-12mg daily?
Raymond Francis takes100 mg coq10 daily
So. I looked at the Jarrow supplements. I wasn’t crazy about the fact that they had xylitol and silicon dioxide in them. Doesn’t that bother you?
I really like your content and way of teaching! Whenever I have difficulty in learning I watch ur videos and it makes it so easy..
Hi Osmosis, explain this one (if you can)…. Microcytic Megaloblastic Anemia……. Deficient in B12, B6, Folate and Iron…. (yes l said Microcytic MCV 75 with Megaloblastic Cells, MCV has been as low as 60 in the past)
Respected Sir, Is there any way to contact you? MailId or something else. I want to talk to you over B12. Something serious according to me
Part of the video use the same audio clip from the Folate deficiency video. It seems lazy to me, but it works since B12 and folate deficiency can have similar symptom
Fajul information hai.Time waste karna hai toa dekh lo. Medical students be samaje nahi paige ki yeh kayabakwas ker raha hai.
How long did you take jarrows b12 methylcobalmine 1000 micrograms every other day or when you remembered?? What range b12 is normal to you?
Drjockers says he aims for 800-1200 picograms b12 level, he says that 200-500 is too low. He says Japan’s normal low end b12 is 500.

B12 is from a bacteria that forms on plants but due to chemicals we can’t get it from plants, we get it from animal products from the food they eat but in the modern day even what they eat is chemical filled and kills the bacteria that has b12
And again, the lesson here is chewing your food and taking time eating is key. I think one the reasons why I was deficient in nutrients in general was eating too fast and drinking too much coffee. The latter makes your stress levels go high which makes you chew less and faster. Oh boy!
I enjoyed this I have a B12 deficiency,..will check out the, macrocytic
Thanks a lot!! Found a lot of other videos and books but none explained the topic in such a straightforward and concise manner.
Hey! Id like to remind you all that you DO NOT NEED to consume animals to get b12.
B12 is only naturally found in soil. Because we live in a hygienic society, and cattle is mostly fed non organic food (that does not contain b12) it is actually injected into cows so that we then consume it! So maybe try to investigate where that b12 in your beef is coming from.
SO, getting b12 form supplements is about as natural as getting it from supermarket meat.
(this goes out to any potential vegan that is scared that they’ll get sick)
what’s the underlying path of glossitis and lemon yellow skin?
Vitamin B12 is conspiracy by the meat industry.
I don’t believe in this vitamin B12 at all.
Why this vitamin B12 available only in animal products?
Total lie
Don’t promote the raising of animals for food. It’s the main cause of Amazon rainforest destruction and global warming
R protein is in salivary secretions. not in gastric or biliary, correct it please
Why it need to be stored, Vitamin B complex is WATER SOLUBLE.
Can vitamin B12 help to give me energy? What is the best brand that you recommend? Is it safe to take over the counter without talking to a doctor?
imagine eating fish meat to increase the B12 in your diet, only to get Diphyllobothrium latum inside you and cause more B12 deficiency. hahahaha
You absolutely CAN get too much vitamin B6 and find yourself dealing with B6 toxicity! Peripheral neuropathy can be a symptom. Research this for yourself and seek out info from others who aren’t selling products.
how do you know if the b12 cancer study is legit? surely Dr Greger or someone would have brought it up.. take Pam poppers class.. she teaches how to spot faulty studies for a living and then get back to us all, i recently quit smoking and spend alot of time around wifi and cell phone radiation.. i really cant deal with worrying about getting cancer from taking a stupid supplement that i already have such an instinctive issue with
Dont need to eat animal proteins! There is no need to take any nutritional supplement. Intestinal microbes produce all B vitamins, including B 12! Metagenomic analysis has predicted that Bacteroides fragilis and Prevotella copri (Bacteroidetes); Clostridium difficile, Faecalibacterium prausnitzii and Ruminococcus lactaris (Firmicutes); Bifidobacterium animalis, B.infantis, and B.longum (Actinobacteria); Fusobacterium varium (Fusobacteria) possess a vitamin B12 biosynthesis pathway. Indeed, Lactobacillus plantarum and L. coryniformis isolated from fermented food produce vitamin B12, and Bifidobacterium animalis synthesizes vitamin B12 during milk fermentation. Thanks for your watching!
Medicosis when is the best time to take B12 and can it be taken with B1 and B6 and Magnesium together?
If you dose several times per day, would these ingredients not have any effect on your health? (this is from the b12 supp of 100 mcg you’ve shown) microcrystalline cellulose, dicalcium phosphate, vegetable cellulose, vegetable stearic acid, silica, vegetable magnesium stearate.
I told my mom that I woke up dizziness and couldnt see light then my heart was raising she said I need vitamin b
B12 comes from bacteria not animals. Animals are not the best place to get b12.
Hello thank you very very much for your efforts
But i have two questions one is amylase for carbs digestion? But u said it help to dissociate B12 from protein? Is this mean amylase has two functions???
The other question is normal flora in our intestine also synthesized B12 true!? If the person is strict vegan B12 not become zero?? And don’t reach to severe state??
Can you clarify this to me??
And again thank you
how about other b vitamin (B1,B6,B9,B5) gets absorbed in body similar to B12? If someone has B12 deficiency will there be problems with other B vitamins as well?
If alcohol prevents folate absorption and folate deficiency is a cause of macrocytic anemia then alcoholism can cause both megaloblastic (folate def) and non-megaloblastic (chronic alcoholism)?
These videos really push me to do medicine, I am a medical engineer right now lol.
Animals are supplemented with b12. Not the best source at all. It’s produced in your ileum anyways.
Sir please change language this video in Hindi I don’t understand English sir
I love how he goes. FINE! after each point. Very easy video to follow, really helpful for my physiology exam!
I think giving only folate in case of B12 can actually cause some permanent neurological damage
sir my age is 29,i m suffering from deficiency of b12 &d3 from last 8 years, after taking supplements 12 level increase but after some time, the deficiency start again, please suggest me what should i do? which tests should i go through, please suggest
This is another good video to make basic concepts about megaloblastic anaemia. Though I prefer listening to the other “iconic voice” of osmosis. Great job team!
Hope this video helped clear up some of the confusion about B12 dosing! Let me know if there was something that wasn’t clear or anything you’d like me to address in the next B12 video!

I have been feeling really foggy headed dizzy and off no energy at all and I had a test done a while back and the doctor said to start taking a vitamin b12 because it was low and I just started taking it seriously because the symptoms have gotten worse. so the pharmacist recommended I start taking the vitamin b12 1000 mcg to help my symptoms to go away but he said once a day is that too much or how do I take this I have took one of them already just a while ago my first dose and I’m not sure how I should take it I take medications as well so I’m scared to take anything but I believe this may help do u have any suggestions on how much to actually take a day with meds I take? And I have the 1000 mcg tablets as I mentioned thanks again for the advise..
My blood test shows that I have over 1300 (PG/ML) of B12, my bilirubin over 1.7 (MG/DL), and high levels of bad cholesterol. Every year when I see those High levels of B12 on my yearly physical exams I ask my Doctor if that is OK, and I always receive the same answer. “No worries It is fine.” I have a feeling that it is not fine.
So to be clear…I should not take 1000 mcg per day. I recently went to a plant-based eating style. But 2000 once per week is okay? Thanks Doc!!
Best video on YT on this topic.
I’d like to add something about the weird terminology here, just details but might help someone:
1) haptocorrin = transcobalamin I (and I think formerly aka transcobalamin III) = cobalophilin = R-protein = R-factor = R-binder [“R” stands for “rapid electrophoretic mobility”].
2) The intrinsic factor receptor in the terminal ileum is also called “cubilin”; the receptor in the kidney that’s responsible for the B12 reabs. is the same like the one in the terminal ileum (it is also cubilin!) with the small difference that megalin was added to this receptor (which means this receptor is more “elaborate” than the one in the terminal ileum). Also, in order for cubilin to work, you need a membrane protein that will make cubilin stay put (and will help in the endocytosis, once B12 bound), this protein being called “amnionless”.
3) A mutation in cubilin or amnionless (autosomal recessive) leads to the Imerslund-Gräsbeck syndrome (syn.: defect of enterocyte intrinsic factor receptor, enterocyte cobalamin malabsorption, megaloblastic anemia 1, juvenile pernicious anemia with proteinuria due to selective intestinal malabsorption of vitamin B12), 1:200k in Finland/ Norway -> patients will have problems with both, B12 abs. AND reabs (remember, cubilin/ amnionless is present in both organs).
4) B12 bound to transcobalamin II (the transporter in the blood) is called “Holotranscobalamin” (“active B12”).
5) Haptocorrin is also produced in the stomach, not only by the salivary glands; and, as said in the vid, haptocorrin can bind 80% of the B12 in the blood making it unavailable for use.
Source(s): Boron, wiki, GHR, countless research papers until I found out what “R” in “R-factor” stands for.
Motivation: When I first studied B12 abs. I was frustrated because people would either be SHIT in explaining it (i.e., didn’t know the exact mechanism), or would provide incomplete explanations; the fkd up terminology wouldn’t improve things…
Thank you <3
tell me Dr. Des Harrington which company you recomended is the best and natural ingreadieance company made vitamine b12,,please tell me..
Plz sir Hindi language do this video because I don’t understand English
What is ‘urbal’ coffee? We all know herbal as it’s a word spoken where the letter h is heard, however urbal…. please educate me
Many thanks for this well informed video, and others too excellent all around! Quick question: can you comment on the other forms of B-12, i.e., “adenosylcobalamin” & “hydroxocobalamin”? (as represented in Swanson Ultra brand “Activated B-12 Complex”, for instance, among others…).
Anyone know if this could happen a week after one night of very heavy drinking?
And if the person iss anemic with pale skin how much mcg do i have to take
tablet contain1500 mcg dose of vitamin b12 OD perday what is scientific reasons as compared to the tds dose of 500mcg tablets three times aday
please tell OD dose of 1500mcg tablets better than TDS dose of 500mcg tablets better for patients
I wonder if I’m a poor absorber of b12 because I was taking 25mcg of b12 a day and had a little tingling in my legs and hands occasionally. I was not eating animal protien. Now I take 1000mcg a day. I might go down to 250mcg like dr. Michael Greger recommends. But I feel good now.
Cells at work got me into wanting to learn more about the body.. and these videos make it easy to understand
b12 is made from bacteria….however the world is more sterile now. We used to get our b12 from pond water (water is now treated) and we triple wash our produce (soil )…so it affects the general population (meat eaters and vegans). Animals are supplemented with b12 so why not get it directly and cut the middleman
Hi, would you help me clarify if this anemia is or not hyperchromatic? In italian wikipedia page it says: “it used to be called hyperchromatic anemia” and one of my professors wants to hear “hyperchromatic” during the exam but i’m not sure:/
What I do is blend a 100 mcg pill in a smoothie and take a few sips every 6 hours. Do you think this a reliable method? How long will the B12 last if the pill is mixed in food?
You could theoretically use only one 100 mcg pill per week with this if you blend it with a food that you can separate in 21 portions (3 x 7 days) getting 4.76 mcg each time.
WOW this helped a ton! I never thought about the nutritional yeast and the fortified foods!! Thanks!!
Your information might help ful. But u should remember that u are addressing people who have no knowledge of health until they become sick and goes to doctor. Simplify your language
Geezuz. I have serious reason to be depressed but all these years, B12 could fix it.
If i didnt get close to dying that night, i wouldnt have known.
B12 for life
Vegan alcoholics beware…LOL. Excellent lecture. Shall carnivores take a B complex if their digestion is impaired?
Thanks for the clarification. If you one were to dose either 2 or 3 times per day, what would be your recommendation in terms of the potency of the do for each of those (2x and 3x per day)? Would there even be an available supplement in those amounts are is 100mcg the only real option even given the desire and ability to dose multiple times per day?
Thank you for the video it helps a lot!! Especially the nutritional yeast I am going to try since I’m dairy free PCOS diet.
Hi, great video! So if I take a capsule, the b12 doesn’t get a chance to bind to the Haptocorrin, does that mean my supplement is just getting disintegrated in my stomach acid?
B12 comes from soil or dirt which is then transfered to plants which is then transfered to animals.
Animals are just a middleman
Vegans get B12 from Brewers Yeast. You also don’t know much here.
what if you are an overweight teenager and you took about 10 capsules of 1000mcg B¹² for ‘metabolism’ because you’re depressed and want to stop eating??
I am low on vitamin b12 and i just got told it was my diet but I eat loads of meat, eggs and dairy products and was told to eat more leafy vegetables… I am constantly tired, I have cold feet and hands (but this can tie into when I had cancer and neuropathy), is my doctor correct in her diagnoses… is it my diet?
Great explanation I been diagnosed with RA. I working on a strict diet that helps my symptom. Currently I only eat fish and a couple eggs a week. I would like to see other sources of natural b12. Any suggestions?
I have a burning sensation all over my body, the pain is just horrible and scary like literally I am on a grill, my tongue is swollen, stabbing and needles pain, my skin is dry AF that it hurts when I bend my fingers and toes, persistent headache, fatigue and tiredness all the time. All that shit and not a single doctor thought that it might be a b12 deficiency!!
There is no need to take any nutritional supplement, or eat animal proteins. Intestinal microbes produce all B vitamins, including B 12! Metagenomic analysis has predicted that Bacteroides fragilis and Prevotella copri (Bacteroidetes); Clostridium difficile, Faecalibacterium prausnitzii and Ruminococcus lactaris (Firmicutes); Bifidobacterium animalis, B.infantis, and B.longum (Actinobacteria); Fusobacterium varium (Fusobacteria) possess a vitamin B12 biosynthesis pathway. Indeed, Lactobacillus plantarum and L. coryniformis isolated from fermented food produce vitamin B12, and Bifidobacterium animalis synthesizes vitamin B12 during milk fermentation. Thanks for your watching!
Myth: “animal protein is best”. Absolutely false. Fact: Supplementation is best… For all of the complex reasons given in this video. Supplemental B12 is not bound to protein and thus has the highest absorption rate by Intrinsic Factor (about 50%). Oral B12 supplementation has a much higher rate of passive diffusion (over 1%, because of dose and because it’s not bound to protein).
Sir, I am suffering for b12 deficiency. Our body not absobptio b12.
Do proton pump inhibitors increase, the chance of B12. Deficiency
Sir in book we have till the folate or vit B12 metabolosim but in lecture we study absorbsorb not metabolism so any on can hepl me plz
SERIOUSLY HOW DO THEY KNOW ALL THIS YET CAN’T FIGURE OUT DIABETES…
Have you seen this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8_kTtWUnf8
Great information that I’ve been wondering about. Thank you!
U r my angel always there to safe me thanks alot MF☺☺☺☺☺
2:34: “Vitamin B12 is actually a microorganism yes, so it is a bacteria” no. it is a chemical compound PRODUCED BY certain bacteria. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5282855/
sounds like you just reiterated the same nonsense from https://youtu.be/bN1JAOj41V0?t=57…
what is the normal range for b12. i am at 174 pg/ml. having lot of symptoms. am i deficient?
Loved this..i have b12 deficiency…thank you I am a RN and enjoyed it
Theres nothing wrong with cholesterol or saturated fat. Thats part of a sick ideology. Its nonsense and made up. Without cholestetol you couldent make myelin ateroid hormones etc. The problem is when you lack animal based vitamin A to process it.
Fantastic video and easy to follow. Though as usual the super rich world of enzymes makes it easy to get lost for a newbee.
One boiled egg contains 0.6mcg of b12 to reach your daily recommended b12 would be around 4 eggs not 200 eggs.
Hey my Vitamin b12 level was a 283 and i live in the US. Is that low? Also my Vitamin D level is a 13 ng/ml
Should be mentioned that cyanocobalamin is a very bad supplement type due to VERY low bioavailability and high doses have shown to be damaging in studies.
Its hilarious that westerns are so dependent on medicine. Instead if they have maintain a proper diet and conduct a concious way of life. Every problem will fade. If you consciously lead a vegetarian life, you will lead a blissful life.
Wow used RDI for dose. You obviously don’t understand even the basics of B12 absorption. Great to do a health tip to take b12 but your giving critical medical advice which is incorrect. Also multi is not recommended for B12 as some of the other supplements block absorption. Also type recommended should be cyan not methyl. Nutritional yeast has zero b12 unless fortified.
Worse b12 video on YouTube. You mean well and ditching the animal sources is good. But getting b12 wrong can be deadly or cause long term serious neurological damage.
You need to redo this video! Pull it down more misinformation than useful info. Sad. Really sad.
Checkout Dr Greger on nutritionfacts.org or Dr Des Harrington.
I need help I can’t find a B12 pill that is dye free. I’m allergic to red dye. If anyone can help I appreciate it.
Please say why b12 via animal protein is best instead of just saying it’s best.
Sublingual vs typical pill.
Time release pill vs typical pill.
B12 alone or with food
B12 alone or with other supplements.
B12 supplementation guided by symptomatic response.
If people needed to eat 200 eggs to get the B12 needs we might as well all dead by now
The human body doesn’t need as much
Pleas biochemestry lecturs like the hematology lecturs that is very helpful thhanks budy
I have some questions To which protein is cobalamin bound in the liver? Is it still transcobalamin? Is it correct that amylase cleaves cobalamin and „animal protein“ as it actually serves as an enyzme for carbonhydrate metabolism? Thanks a lot!
what about the one who is diabetic on insulin will supplement absorb?
I had my vitamin B12 levels checked so I’m waiting on results. I told my doctor I sometimes feel pinches all over my body and she said it’s my nerves could be due to low B12.
Do natural popular erectile dysfunction natural treatment like Erectodom Secrets really work and if so, how effective are they? We’ve noticed numerous awesome things about this popular erectile dysfunction natural treatment.
What I only know is that whenever I got back pain or fatigue I consume vitamin B supplements (a.k.a neurobion).
Oh is there a supplement or mineral that aids more than another with aging skin?
Absolutely ADORE that you shared this info. Really like the comparison you did with diet vs supplement. I would be interested in iron one. You mentioned Stevia. That’s an “iffy” thing it seems with plant based diet. Do you consume regularly?
Thanks so much for this incredible explanation with drawings! I really enjoyed it.

From animal products. Reeeeeally???? You will die from another disease befor you ever realize you have B-12 deficiency. Please take time and check the studies of B-12 in high meat consumption countries.
What about omega 3? Is ground flax seed added in oatmeal daily enough? Many thanks, good video on..

As always most grateful to you for educating us. If anytime at all possible, could you take a look at these videos and kindly mention your opinion? But no worries at all if not, because I can only guess what a crazy busy schedule you must have. Thanks again, you are simply the best.

What if someone has a MTHFR mutation and can’t utilize the standard form of B12? Is it true that only methyl b12 is effective?
I follow a blood type diet from my blood type but I suffer from panic and anxiety attacks my cortisol is active every day I just got my Vitamin b12, 1000mcg and b-1 100mg came in today. If I feel my cortisol levels are at maximum can I increase my b12 does to 2000

Thank you for sharing a very useful video recently i have visited Likhitha diagnostics in Hyderabad they provide best services for the patients with special packages for more details look at https://www.likhithadiagnostic.com/
So, since animals dont make B12, why is there B12 in animal products?
I love these teaching videos!!! Thanks for showing us your chronometer and the links to the research you use. I love your channel because your so real
I want to like Nutritional Yeast sooooo bad. It I just don’t I always have it in the house and use it a couple times a week for the past year hoping I’ll learn to like it.
Man I really love your videos..this is the second video i have watched on your channel.
Thanks again
I got three 3 shots of vitamin B, I skipped 2 days in between each shot, and on the 3rd shot I noticed stomach pain, diarrhea and my face and back break out. I stopped taking vitamin B. Does anyone know when will my skin get better?
Thank you! these videos are great. very easy to understand. keep them coming please.
If you have b12 deficiency are you going to have all of the symptoms?
I only have fatigue, shortness of breath, hair loss,hand/legs tingling sometimes heart beat fast
With that intonation and jokes i cant help but laughing hahahaha
R protein is basically protecting Cobalamin from Gastric acid and acidic medium but there is no gastric acid in duodenum. So why is there biliary secretion of R protein into small intestine?
Thanks for your brief videos. What is the solution. Please I need reply if uiu have time or is it in your previous video.
Why are animal sources the best? Arent the animals just supplemented?
I take b12 because my arm and hip are paining..now im the pain was gone..
that was great! waaaay more than I anticipated from YouTube but I learned a lot. thank you.
Is this supposed to be a freaking seminar or what? Get to the point!!!
Remember B12 is a photoreceptor, UV light will correct a deficiency.
Sir what are the normal levels for Vitamin B12? below than 200 ng/ml B12 level, is it considered normal or low?
As a vegan with anxiety I take 5000 micrograms of b12 daily. Dave asprey also recommends 5000 micrograms daily. What do u think about that?
What a great video from which I’ve learned a lot. But please tell me which form of B-12 intramuscular supplementation is the best: Methyl-, Hydroxior -Cyano-?
Subscribed!
Looking at taking a lower dose B12 mainly because ugh dose B12 gives me bad acne flare ups.
Will try the 100mcg tablets daily and see how it goes.
I watch all ad on your vedio,,
i didn’t watch it because I am busy but feel that content is perfect,,
Today I bought 10mcg cyanocobalamin but I’m wondering if anything will even get absorbed in such a small dose.
Fun fact: it’s actually quite rare for a vegan to be B12 deficient these days. Plant-based milks and vegan products are now fortified with both B12 and folate
First 20 sec i stopped to watch your video! because cut editing! which is annoying!
Talk normal instead cutting like that! gl
My best friend has vitiligo, autoimmune disease. She’s also suffering anemia.
I heard vitiligo can destroy intrinsic factor, so b12 cannot be absorbed, and then anemia…
Is that true? she is just taking iron supplements without much success.
I had no idea what you said but I tried to agree with it
Fish tape worm!!!!! Yikes, and I love sushi. However, I’m still having a blast learning stuff I may never need to know. I try not to mention any of this in social settings as it tends to annoy some people. And I don’t as a rule mention parasites.
I drank for 10 days hardcore vodka, and now when I stopped I got blisters on my upper lip. Is this a symptom? Im a bad alcoholic
2 years ago i used metformin for weight loss, i lose wieght but got ice pick headach which i never experienced in the past, after that i got grey hair in th area of ice pick headache. Than i stop using metformin and from past 1 and half years im using vitamin B12 sublingual, Now i get less pain and some of grey hair turn blach. But now due to my stress and depression nothing works, my hair turns grey faster. Im 32. Now what can i do. Also premature grey hair is not in my family genetics.
You are doing such a great job. Your videos made it so easy for me to understand everything. Thankyou:)
why is it reasonable to test the serum folic acid concentration in a patient who is suspected of having it b 12 deficiency
u dont need to eat 200 eggs to get your daily recommended dose of vitamin b12. u need to do some research
I’ve been a vegan from 16 to 18 (2,5yrs) i allways took b12 supplements. But even now, more than a year later i star again to eat animal products i feel brainfog. May I have permanent brain damage?
How about the active forms vs the non active forms of B12. Can you talk about this process?
Why folate should not be given in b12 defciency kindly explain
Thank you very much. Your explanation is simple and informative .
no sir…B12 cynacobolamin in vitamins or B12 in fortified foods are best source of B12 not animal protein
Anyone know what is Erectodom Secrets about? I hear lots of people can last longer in bed with this popular erectile dysfunction treatment.
GOD TELL PEOPLE OF ISRAEL BEFORE START JOURNEY FROM EGYPT TO ISRAEL KILL GOAT AND EAT MEAT OF GOAT WHY Vit 12 difisency OF 9 year journey. but they travel 40 year
We know,what lovely doctor…
We want u to do CVS videos…what do u think
I personally use a mix approach, I take a weekly 1000mcg cyanocobalamin supplement and I regularly consume fortified food (like a daily spoon of nooch).
But another great way of including B12 in your daily routine is fortified toothpaste: doi: 10.1007/s40520-019-01125-6
Best bit is when he said the strict vegan alcoholic ate sushi.
This is a premium good value B12 Methylcobalamin from UK –

What about retic count in vitamin b12 deficiency?? Reduced due to ineffective erythropoesis??
I like your videos very much. I guess you’re studying to be a doctor, which is super full on anyway, let alone uploading videos too. But I think you might be able to remember more about important subjects if you do the videos on the real important stuff. I dont know, I just thought I’d comment to say that it could be a good idea for memory retention.
Cheers, have a good one.
I am a vegan who is making sure I get enough B12; but my meat-eating grandfather supposedly died of pernicious anemia. Is it possible to die from pernicious anemia? Or is it really death from complications of pernicious anemia?
I use those Veg1 daily: https://www.officialveganshop.com/complement-alimentaire-b12-veg1-au-cassis-x90-veg1-7951.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8o6r-P6U5AIVArTtCh1mLg_6EAQYASABEgIG8PD_BwE
I had a skin issue the next day I started to take it (red dots all over my back and top of chest and shoulders), maybe because I took two pills instead of one.
Due to this recent video of Mic The Vegan about B12 & Acne and the testimony of a friend, I was wondering if those supplements were responsible for the skin issue I had.
I also read online (if I remember well…) that excess B vitamin can cause skin issue in some people.
So i’m a bit concerned about the fact that in this supplement there is 1.6mg of B2 and 2mg of B6. Is that a high dose of those two vitamins?
The B12 is 25 microgrames however, which seems fine.
Btw, what do you think about breaking pills in half and take one half in the morning and the other half in the evening?
Why is megaloblastic anemia actually an anemia? How does it cause a decrease in oxygen supply to tissues?
my god…. Every commercial is from headspace… and its making me lose my mind…
What a great video, you speak so clearly and informatively! I’m a veggie and cut back on dairy recently and have just been diagnosed with a B-12 deficiency and it’s awful. You wouldn’t even think you could get so many awful symptoms just from a vitamin deficiency! I think I was very naive and didn’t think I needed to supplement my diet or have any consequences to cutting out dairy. So thanks for informing people to the importance of taking supplements on a vegan diet
Bro I only came for the symptoms and I’m getting whole biochemistry lesson lol
I currently have B12 deficiency… my symptoms are: weakness, dizziness, numbness and tingling all over my body including the face constantly which is kind of scary thinking “wth is going on, a stroke??!! ” Fortunately, I got blood tests done and I have B12 and Folic Acid(B9) deficiency which causes Anemia with all the symptoms I described above.
The reason I am writting this is for your information:
I used to have GERD problems for a while (Gastroesophageal reflux disease), I used to take over the counter pills for the heartburn and then switched to Omeprazole which healed me, I also started a much “healthier diet” reducing meat, going more veggies and whole wheat grains, great! but………the stomach pills are the reason I have B12 deficiency because these kind of pills don’t let B12 get absorbed into your body after you eat, also I started my “healthy diet” at the worse timing, because by reducing meat, combined with the pills, I also reduced my B12 intake even more. My blood tests showed 155pg/mL of B12 which is very very low.
So watch out those who have GERD and take pills, increase your B12 intake before it’s too late it really sucks having all these numbness problems each and every day, they do take you down physically and psychologicaly
I am glad I figured all this out, and I hope I get better soon.

***This is an UPDATE after 7 months I made this comment… I was on B12 for 5 months straight daily, and now I am up to once every 1 or 2 weeks just to maintain the good B12 levels. I feel healthy and great, and even my mood went up! Thank you all for your support!
–
And I also want to say something, don’t take my comment above for granted.. always go to the doctor and get some tests done. I am not a doctor. I only trying to share my experience with you, maybe it will help some of you. Always get a doctor’s opinion about B12 and GERD and ask questions. B12 deficiency is very serious it wasn’t easy for me.. but fortunately I feel great now. Thank you all!
This video is inaccurate stating that B12 can be found in animal and dairy products…its from the soil/water
So Mr Lessman I cant take too much of your B Vitamin, but is it possible in general to take to much? In the past I took a b complex 50 with 50mg of every b vitamine and I was told if you take more than 100mg per day of some b vitamines (I think it was b6) you can get brain damage. What is your thought about that?
