The 6 Fundamental Movement Patterns (Functional Athletic Training)
Video taken from the channel: Precision Movement by Eric Wong
The 7 Functional Movement Patterns are: Hinge. Squat. Lunge.
Push. Pull. Twist. Gait/Carry. You can think of each of these terms like a big umbrella.
Under each umbrella you have a variety of exercises that trains within that movement pattern.7 Functional Movement Patterns to Master STAT 1. Squat. Test Yourself: Lower into a squat, hips back, knees tracking over ankles and heels planted on the ground. 2. Lunge. Test Yourself: For the forward lunge, step forward with one foot and bend your back knee until it’s almost 3. Push.
Test.Functional Movement Exercises Programming As a baseline, a focus on an exercise in each movement pattern is a sensible approach. This may also need to be adapted for certain individuals.
You could also substitute any of the exercises below for a comparable exercise with a.Recognize movement patterns that support work, sports and daily activities. Understand the true relationship that movement patterns play in our health and fitness goals.
Identify principles to support the importance of movement screening. Explain the role of mobility, motor control, and functional patterns in fundamental movement.Functional Patterns is based on the idea that you need to spend a lot of time doing corrective exercises and ‘alignment’ techniques. In this article, FMS certified pro and one of Golf Digest’s Top 50 Golf Coaches, Spencer Tatum, will discuss how the body screen and Functional Movement Screen (FMS) are integral to THP’s process in understanding necessary actions to optimize golf performance. The most common movement patterns performed during military tasks and training are deadlifts, pulling, squats, pushes, carries, and lunges. You also need to engage and stabilize your core to do these movements safely and effectively. You use basic functional movement patterns every day like pushing, pulling, hinging, squatting, rotating, carrying and gait patterns (walking and running). Functional training utilizes exercises that improve your movement proficiency in these primary patterns to give you an edge so you can achieve your goals safely and with good health.
That’s when functional movement entered the scene. Consider the following exercises that trainers commonly include in an evaluation session: military press, forward/backward lunge, straight leg raises, push-up, seated rows, and torso stabilizing exercises.A score of 2 or 3 means the movement pattern is functional. A score of 1 indicates a dysfunction, and a score of 0 is recorded if the client notes any pain with the movement. With this simple metric, dysfunctional movement patterns and painful movement patterns can be quickly identified.
The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) tests seven different movement patterns, scoring them on a scale from 0 to 3. 0 — Movement was painful, requiring a referral to a healthcare professional. 1 — Inability to perform or complete a functional movement pattern. 2 — Ability to perform a functional pattern, but with some degree of compensation.
Functional movement patterns allow you to become physically fit holistically, while also achieving a lean and toned physique. And they have lots of other benefits, too. Functional Workouts Defy Injuries. The top goal of functional movement training is to lower the chance of injury.
Used properly, functional movement training can be the difference between becoming a good athlete and an exceptional one. The premise of this type of.Personal trainers working with clients use the concept to reflect a variety of outcomes such as enhanced movement patterns, motor skills, occupational skill, or improvement in one or more fitness components (strength, cardiorespiratory, flexibility, muscular endurance).

I predicted he would waste the whole video babbling nonsense right after he said he likes Bernie Sanders. Turns out my prediction was solid. What’s that about dolphins? Thank you anyway, God bless, you’re a good man
U both look at least more realistic and not juiced up..well done and keep going
Just flow, Just exercise, just let the body work and breath deep. exelent!
The best video on training I’ve seen in a long time! Simple and effective, no fancy stuff. This philosophy is very similar to Micheal Boyle’s, who says you should always include at least one hip-dominant leg exercise, one knee-dominant leg exercise, one push exercise and one pull exercise in your weekly program. He also is advocates in favor of single leg, torso rotation and torso anti-rotation exercises for improving athletic performance. Great video!
Great! Work Eric I thought I recognized you and couldn’t figure out. You were alumi at the STM and U of waterloo! Anyhow, good to see you thru media!
Tina Jang
You deserve all the success coming your way. Keep up the hard work and your pursuit of idealism
Thank you for all the information on your channel Naudi! All the mayo-release stuff with balls and theracane helps me so so so much and you make me better understand my imbalances which were exaggerated post shoulder injury &surgery. Wil buy your book this week. And sick track man! Amazing job!! Anyway I can download it?
good job. I just switched fro. bodybuilding to athletic training. I like it a whole lot better. I too have a back injury.
This is the best demonstration of the expression of the body I’ve ever seen in my life. This IS the art of the human body.
You are in AMAZING shape. Love to watch you move through these functional patterns. Thank you!!!!
I bought the FP package and it’s been a month omg mind blown im 32 and have a crazy fit body jasonhay25 is my insta all I would do is isolation exercises because my back was so screwed but I couldn’t even bend over without pain now I feel like I can play sports and I feel amazing please everyone just fricken do FP AND DO IT RIGHT u won’t be sorry

Birds. You underestimate birds.
Here’s a world champion UFC fighter, 170 lbs, and he cannot catch a chicken unless it is cornered.

Thank you Eric, This was very well explained and demonstrated.
the name of the exercise at 1:19 is “fight a giant”!! lol, love the workout though, definitely not for the movement beginner, which is probably why I love it:)
Did you know the white gloves are the key to making this a functional move
Thanks Eric! Very interesting and useful way to visualize strength training globally.
I don’t generally do them all each workout if I’m training 2 days/week. I’ll split them up over the 2 days so I get them setup.
I’m just putting the finishing touches on a free report that will spell some program design fundamentals out. Make sure you’re on my newsletter list at ericwongmma. com to be notified of when it comes out.
Will have to think about that you don’t necessarily have to do every exercise in all 3 planes of motion.
You have to assess your needs and train accordingly. That’s the short but correct answer.
One of the best exercises that does work you in 3D is the Woodchop exercise: search my channel for the 3 Core Exercises for MMA video it’s the first exercise.
idk man…. if u do it wrong u gonna screw urself up. u translate functional training too aggressively.
Great videos bro, keep them up in 2020! Always watching your videos and training clients using FP. I agree with your inclination towards Bernie and Fresco nice ones.
WOW!!!! That primitive functional movement workout resonated right through my body & soul…. so so awesome!!!!
Che grandissimo lavoro, e quanta passione, compimenti. Un saluto dall’Italia
Functional training as in the function of natural purpose. When I assess someone function it is their ability to mobilise or transfer which will include gait dynamics and static balance as well as other contributing factors. Functional training by its own definition is looking at training for the purpose of completing ADLs more efficiently and with reduced risk of injury. This channel knows whats up. Whipping rope and dragging tires are not in its purest sense functional training. Although one could debate that of that movement was part of your day job as an athlete that you may review this ADL and look at ways of improving efficiency and reduce risk of injury. Its knowing the difference that will determine if you actually use the word function in his proper context.
hey , what is the difference between a KB swing and a KB pendulum?
Functional training; train in the same way that your body mechanics function. End of story!
Very inspiring, would love to take a class like this. I used to have that level of flexibility decades ago, but not any more. Wonder if I could get it back again.?
The problem with your frame is that you jump from human’s evolution to “how we’re supposed to be” and then to “if not you will be injured severely”.
First of all, most people that train their bodies NOT for primarily running and walking aren’t suffering extreme injuries due to that fact. So your claim that if you don’t train the functional-pattern way you will suffer “severe problems” later is simply false. I know very few people that are essentially crippled in some way and even fewer that are crippled as a result of their training. Where is this pool of cripples that you’re pulling from as evidence for your claim?
SAFELY training any “function” will most likely lead to a safe body to live in. Mayyyyyybe debatable between who is the more agile 96year old. But it’s a stretch to assume that every person’s main goal with training is to be able to walk and throw for as far in to the future as humanly possible.
This brings me to the second point. “Functional” can be changed out with “purposeful”. Doing so illustrates a major gap in your ideology purposeful for WHAT? For walking? Well we need to debate that before that’s swallowed whole. Simply because evolutionally we are specialized as throwers/walkers doesn’t mean that humans SHOULD want to specialize their training for that. Our bodies are vessels to carry out the purposeful actions of our MINDS. Not the other way around. The simple fact that evolution prioritizes reproduction doesn’t mean that my life SHOULD be all about impregnating as many women as possible. I’m not a robot who is pre-programmed. I am the programmER.
So when you use the term functional training it immediately raises the question: “functional for what?” You answer this by saying “the organism”.
I reject your claim by expanding further: “This organism is a human, capable of choice and conceptualized motivation. If his motive is being a soldier then functional training will consist of movements that improve his ability to fight and maneuver on the battlefield. If his motive is to climb mountains then functional training will consist of a very different set of exercises.”
–
In short, the argument about what should be called functional training is an argument that misses the mark entirely. Functional training depends entirely on the function that one wishes to produce.
thank u I really appreciate these break downs of terms and intro videos. they help me spread the information alot easier. people are very interested as well and I usually have very little to show.
With your build and explosiveness, you’d be able to throw a baseball pretty damn hard with the right throwing mechanics. Some inspirational content here. You have any advice for throwers or any athletes who heavily tax individual muscles/ligaments on one side of the body but not the other?
Your videos are the best..really appreciate for putting up free videos.
The first half of the video he talks about dolphins, birds, dogs and shares his pointless opinion on dog owners. I didnt stick around to listen to the rest, I hope he accurately described functional training… and how it doesnt involve twisting the body under load… lord have mercy
Eric! just in case you didn’t know, your left shoulder is higher than your right, bend/twist in spine? Apex of bend can be seen in base of your sternum. Tight right QL? ( you probs know……)
Esto es a lo que yo llamaria versatilidad, utilidad y promocion de la salud general en un entrenamiento!
I see the conditioning part but I do not see any strength training.
I believe the human body is made for sword fighting. The human body is uniquely articulate. Articulation is our calling card. Tennis and ballet are the closest thing in modern time of the expression of the human body, besides the original sword fighting.
Great video! 10 week course for people to train their dogs?:D
Thanks man.. if you’ve thought about it and come to a conclusion, would appreciate if you share your insight.
Some of these movements make me really like them a lot and others made me wonder a little.
There is one “Fundamental” pattern not used. And that is back bend or back extension.
Parabéns pela abordagem. Esse talvez o mais importante assunto dentro da defesa pessoal. Técnicas de exercícios que capacitam a prática da DEFESA PESSOAL KRAV MAGA.
This guy is fit no doubt about it, but any normal gym going person trying any of this exercise will 100% be in ICU….
great vid as usual. but i have a question.
would it be advisable to do all 6 patterns 2 days a week? and do you use mostly compound movements (i.e. bench press, row, pull/chin up, and all that jazz)?
thanks
Also…in regards to squats. The very fact that someone has to perform the exercise in a specific way (proper form) or risk possibly severe injuryalong with that fact that the majority of people in a gym can’t perform the movement without it being taught to them, should probably make the claim of it as a natural movement questionable…..
If you think we are only designed to walk upright better, than i disagree wholeheartedly. Some people express there functionality through running, weightlifting, jiujitsu etc. its being dogmatic to the point where it push the industry away rather than inviting people in.
The most natural human movements are standing (and by extension jumping, which is hard accelerated standing) and turning (and by extension throwing, which is hard accelerated turning with a bit of good timing.)
The thing standing and turning, jumping and throwing, have in common? They are both instinct learned, profoundly easy even for the most unfit, and require nearly every muscle in your body to do.
No creature can go from prone to upright like human. No creature can change direction or throw like human.
And it is this reason why there is very little reason to train for it. Truthfully, it comes naturally, even for very unfit people.
Well done guys its so relevant and more sustainable than weight training
great vid what excercises do you recommend for basketball players
Nice video Naudi, if this doesnt get folks thinking, then i dont know what will……..
Dogs are not going to be very good at flying? Holy Moly dude, ground breaking stuff right there!!
Wow! Nice. Super strong and powerful. Much applauds to you for building such a powerful and functional body. Your form on everything is perfection. Curious if u ever suffer injuries with such phenomenal training?
The main argument of this video is bullshit.
Firstly, even if there are main activities that human beings in general have HAD to be able to do from an evolution stand point, from that it does not necessarily follow we need to do that today for optimal health, nor for optimal performance at a specific activity.
Secondly, you could extend that list of functions to tons of other activities like fighting, punching, lifting and so on, that have all been a major part of human lives throughout existence. You are merely applying a model colored by your own bias.
Thirdly, one of the main differences between us and other animals, it’s our adaptability. Humans adapt our environment and hack the evolutionary boundaries that other animals are bound by. Thus, if you can majorly increase someone’s strength with back squats, that’s just another hack that has proven useful, even if the back squat is another “unnatural” thing outside the normal evolutionary frame work.
Nature doesn’t share your bias, what works works, and just because people used to do these activities, does not mean modern humans have to train like that.
Just wondering.. Would you recommend a crossbow by wieder. Have a chance to buy one in Good Condition… cheap.
So the blatant lie of Evolution forced on every innocent child from jump, out of the 6 different types of so called evolution only 1 is based on the “SCIENTIFIC METHOD” and that’s within a kind only. The other 5 are blind faith religions.
The lucifarian rulers who are blatant satanists created the public school mind programming system to force indoctrinate the masses continually into
● Evolutionists = Religion of savages and racists against blacks was on the original cover of Darwins book.
Now you parrot Bernie and socialism/enslavement/death.
Don’t mind me. It’s for those with ears to hear. Rrrrr!!!!
speechless, i have to say that i only interested in a few of those movement but damn

This is CROSSFIT… If youre reading this Naudi I want you to know you’re a loser. Highschool virgin no doubt.
Nice explanation-though I think I would separate out the push movement into 2 movements (horizontal push and vertical push). And the pull movement into horizontal pull and vertical pull.
In India we have yoga asanas which is similar to your movements.
This is the most inspiring training video I’ve ever seen. So many incredible movement/exercise ideas that I have never come across before. Awesome work man thank you for this.
machine, great training and very good exercises, will take over a few
Great video! Have you heard of the Alexander Technique by any chance? It seems like it would be of great interest to you
I work in a coal mine. I lift heavy stuff in awkward positions all day every day. The four barbell classics, deads squats bench and overhead press, are the most functional movements. If I didn’t kniw how to do these safely and effectively I would be injured all the time.
I’m pretty interested in Functional Training. I’m 52 years old and I’m obese. I’ve had surgery on both knees and I suffer from lower back pain and sciatica. So, running is out for me. In fact, my Doctors said that running is not something I should ever do again unless in an emergency.
So anyway, I’m researching functional training and I started with your video. I’d like to know what it’s all about. I don’t want to hear about dolphins and birds and dogs and other members of the animal kingdom. I stopped the video at 2:42.
I’ll be going elsewhere to learn about functional training. Have a great day.
It is very nice and great way to improve health and fitness. I advice to send more video of that kind of exercise
Alan Roberts was dissing your ass on his channel. I just watched your video I see some exercises that seem beneficial some not so.
Great stuff, I loved the video! Could you please subscribe to my channel? Thanks! #UnleashYourPotential #GreatnessNeverRests
Halfway through the video, I still don’t know what functional training is but I know more about dogs now so that’s nice.
Way above of the Normal human, Thanks Naudi keep going. Many good things coming your way!
His lumbar is too far beyond his erectus and his knees barely align with the first three toes of his left feet when he lands on the medicine ball.
La belleza en la mecánica del movimiento….conciente en si mismo sale perfecto….gracias Emilio…
Fuck youtube, does not inform me of naudis vids,i need these in my life! Bought the book and program, best investment i ever made, much love Naudi keep at it man <3
Coach naudi why U didn’t post a back training and focus about this muscle and what most effective exercises to strengthen back group muscle? Thanks
Train relevant to your biological characteristics:) #thinkintentionallynothabitually
I too see how the animals around me move in their original natural ways. From ants, chickens, dogs, toddlers to the very elderly, even indigenous tribes, some asians and middle easterners. I admire their movements because it takes true confidence to be authentic presently. And it just feel so good to move how you want.
I try to be flexible enough to be adaptable to the many kinds of environment s around us today
does he have any boxing or heavy bag workouts? those undercuts punches to the body looked beastmode
Great video!! Thank you!! Will you please share a link for the leggings the girls are wearing?
If you look at the present for most people, our functionality is probably sitting.
If you go bit backwards in our evolution its walking.
If you go more backwards its climbing trees.
If you go more backwards its swimming.
I think it isnt as simple as you said:)
Looks like actual fun. Some moves look fancy for the sake of being different but I’ve done those in the past purely for cardio effect and were difficult due to coordination which helped in a lot of my knee rehabilitation and hip hop dances.
I wish I had the equipment and space for these movement patterns
Hell yeah. I haven’t heard one word in any of your videos that isn’t bang on 100%. Preach it brother. You know the score.
A lot of ppl don’t get what “functional patterns” is. It’s so much healthier for your body joints etc. Being sore after heavy leg day is stupid. This is the type of training that is optimal and can also give you the body you desire
Now show this to all of the idiots that are too lazy to go research FP. All of this is clearly stated on the FP’s website….Just nobody can read lmao. It’s in a nice simple video for them to understand now LOL
RAGAZZI SIETE BRAVISSIMI GRAZIE PER QUESTO COOL VIDEO CADIO YOGA ♀️ PILATES PESO CORPOREO TUTTO IN IN UN WORKOUT ️♀️ NON VEDO L’ora di provarlo. Grazie mille ☺️
It’s interesting how this movement pattern style can be used in a lot of different ways for example
A lot of the old school body builders did this as full body training
Deadlifts
Weighted pull ups
Squats
Bench press
Overhead press
I’m not that they did much rotational work but core work was involved
My point being it’s a great way to train no matter what your goal is
As a natural lifter you can build a lot of muscle and be functionally athletic at the same time
True natural body building is actually healthy and makes you more athletic
It’s just extremely difficult once you’ve progressed to your heaviest loads, especially with doing so many big compound lifts twice per week
You can try and lean more towards doing these patterns more explosively with a lighter weight or no weight to ensure you stay fast and powerful but it’s a hard game and it ain’t for the faint hearted
I couldn’t keep it up to be honest it was to much
Very good exercise. I think you should say at the start, your training is way more complexes and demanding than usual. All theses moves need too be mastered before going as fast as you.
In what languages is the video. Sounds like Spanish and English but I know is a different one.
Amazing video, great music, fuck all these haters! Take care bro!
Your dog is named after Jacque Fresco.. My mind is blown! I’d actually find the dragonballs just to talk to you about his vision and realizing it.
That’s awesome proposes that I wanted to do I had discovered you have to stretch good I appreciate your stretching experience thank you
I love his video about few years ago and lost his video and i found it again.
We walk, run, throw, yes but we also, jump, hang, lift and carry our stuff and our babies, pull and pull to move things when we can’t carry them or grab things far away (and doing so we stand on our toes in equilibrium), crawl under stuff, climb over stuff too, swim in all kinds of waters, navigate, danse, make love in funny ways to keep things interesting in the long run, carry and give birth, etc… We are the most multitask animal that ever existed, and thus our sports can be so diverse and our way of exercising our bodies too. Don’t analyse things before you take the time to observe them as they are. And height minutes is too long just to explain one simple idea, I think you could repeat yourself less and summarize more, but that’s just my opinion.
You’re the real deal. Been following you for several years, finally created my own channel. Thanks for your help throughout the years.
Start slow-let your body learn & absorb the movement-it’s just as important, the journey, ( even more the journey) -as it is the end result..
love your ideas of training. just curious why the cart wheel with the medicine ball slam.
Felicidades es una rutina maravillosa hare lo posible por seguirla al ratito gracias gracias gracias por estar aquí y ahora.
Namaste ¡¡¡
Super good training in combination with my functional martial arts trainings. Very well performed by this WTA team. Thanks a lot.
Great videos bro, keep them up in 2020! Always watching your videos and training clients using FP. I agree with your inclination towards Bernie and Fresco nice ones.
Yes they are.
If you know my story about my back surgery when I was 14, it tightened up my whole right side so I constantly have to stretch it out or it gets even worse! The best stretch is the Oblique side stretch over a ball.
I’m not sure how some of these moves you perform are”functional” unless you’re Spiderman but hey what do I know.
Great. Now imma start seeing idiots do this shit at the gym. Smh
Thanks for being such an inspiration to improve our biomechanics. And great music composition too. Would love to hear this on loop.
How can i put this into a program? Any thoughts? Two days a week, one push one pull?
Exercises, sets reps?
Interesting vid. Thanks!
Naudi is inspiring, I do copy his teachings in the gym. Please keep teaching and inspiring. Big fan!
Why use gloves? Wont your grip strength increase more without having to rely on friction from the fabric to maintain your hold?
I love this! I dont think Ive seen anything like it. It really does mimic some essential human movements
Revolutionary. The haters didn’t understand Einstein either bro. Thanks for your work Naudi, and stunning video.
How do you combine that with training in different planes of motion.. For example, shouldn’t we be trying to do all different types of lunges, forward, to the side, and transverse? Can you give other exercises for all the other movement patterns that take place in all 3 ( or in between 2 planes ) different planes of motion? Videos would be awesome. Thanks man, keep it up.
Not Shute what to make off this really!..however if its fitness ill try anything once!..I love the gym/training space that he has created tho dark modern and spacious
these are not beginner moves any beginners stick to compound movements for about a year and build up your strength before moving to anything close to this great vid just not something for beginners
Naudi,
Love the videos. I’m a CPT/LMT and competitive GS athlete. Do you have a certification course for personal trainers?
Functional training is eliciting proper biomechanical progression from supine lye to walking and further advancing to complex interactional movement patterns that are required for an individual to meet the physical and psychological demands of the interaction between the individual and their environment of operation..
Awesome workouts. I have been a to active with weight training and muscle building for about 5 months now. While doing the standard muscle building routines, I have seen changes but I’ve come to realize my biggest weaknesses is my stability and coordination. It has been down right awful, and thought I’ve gotten stronger in areas, I have struggled in others. My lower back becomes a mess and I can’t do one pistol squat without a TRX and struggle mightily one leg dead lifts with no weight (despite no issues with two legs.
This past week I was studying Bruce Lee and saw videos of LeBron James on Swiss balls, and studying Kettlebell training and realized I want to workout to be healthy. What good is it to look good on the outside, but your joints are a mess with an unstable core and back.
When you look at someone like Bruce Lee, he was small but extremely strong for his size. He could do 2 finger push ups, ridiculous core excercises and the ability to knock someone back 6+ feet with a one inch punch.
With LeBron James, he had back problems in 2015, went to a specialist and focused on Core Stability and functional type training. He is on record saying he’s in the best shape he’s ever been in and the best he’s felt, and we see him doing things we’ve never physically seen before and he never gets injured.
I can say from just two days of focusing on Swiss balls and kettlebell work, I feel the difference in my body. Trying doing a plank and push up with your feet upright on a Swiss balls slow and in control, and you will feel all your muscles light up. Do 50-100 straight KB swings and your body will light up and feel good afterwards.
how much of this training would someone be able to implement into a traditional gym?
that was beautiful to watch. you are inspiring me to up my workout routine
wooow. estas. pesado.. canijo. Muy Bien. excelente 10+. saludos desde California…
This is an amazing routine… Already incorporated to my workout regime. Grazie!!!
It’s a great talk, but there should be an example of how the term functional training is being misused. Because if I show someone doing a Deadlift correctly I know DeadLifts are a functional exercise because the form of the Deadlift is how you should be picking things up.
Are your shoulders extremely uneven? I noticed it because I think I have that problem too.
Or you could explain is as the basics of strength training as described by the NSCA -> A push, a pull, hip dominate exercise, a knee dominate exercise and some core work = Strength training in a nutshell
in 3:03 what king of rope is that. It would fit fine in my garage gym. Cheers!
First time experimenting this type of shit in a puplic gym, and thats how you end up in gym fails video
What is the cable system that you can attach the stick to. That would be great for martial artists training in kali and escrima.
Any idea what kettlebell weight and slam wall ball weight Kyle Dake is using?
This Video is so awesome that not only is the Workout good but even the Song
Wish I had Naudi’s eye, to spot the things that he does, have to watch the vid multiple times.
This is nonsense. Functional training is training to increase your capabilities relative to whatever endeavor you are engaged in, wrestling, dancing, swimming etc
No Only do they make pooddles walk like human but they hit them and abused them! Yes shame on this people. I do like like or share this videos. Humans who think is cute are sick & mindless people. Thanks for speaking out for them. Love Your videos. I learn lots from you.
Hi, can you make a video of different kind of push ups, sort of variations, that target certain muscle groups? thanks
That was 8 minutes of absolutely nothing. He literally told me about his dog and that humans walk on two legs.
These movements look fun(ctional.) New sub here. ✌️ Look forward to more content.
I don’t understand at all how anybody could possibly disagree with this or with you after watching this explanation. Kudos Naudi
Looks great, but do you have a version for someone who needs to work up to this level of strength and flexibility?
Bro you talk soooooo much shit, stfu about your dogs. Stay In scope. Well wishes fuck face
Awesome vid! As a functional fitness trainer and a teacher of several martial arts styles, I really appreciate your approach to movement conditioning. Way to raise the bar. Great job!
Esto me fascinó aquí en Atlanta son las 9:10 pm. Soy instructora de ejercicios pero mañana a primera hora lo hago, gracias
Synchronised, functional yet so calming. Thank you. Great choice of music too.
Cool movements. Cool video. However, it would be extremely funny to see the same exercises done in a traditional gym. The stares alone would be comedic gold. Also, you might find that you end up on Infinite Elgintensity’s channel.
Great videos bro, keep them up in 2020! Always watching your videos and training clients using FP. I agree with your inclination towards Bernie and Fresco nice ones.
Woooooow me encantaron estos ejercicios,,,, mil gracias por compartirlos me parece genial la combinación de posturas
Would like to see Kyle in a competitive cage grappling match or MMA
Movimientos sencillos, pero con mucha efectividad, buen video
on the first exercise when he started and gradually started sharpening up his movement thanks to your instruction, I saw his rotation force went through the roof, i saw a massive push/pull happening on his obliques…this stuff is legit.
Are these instructor certifications offered in the the U.S.?
So dumb, you want to relate function to origin of human species, if so no one needs training. And you say the major function is walk and run only. Come on….
What’s number 3, 4, 5? Seriously! You should do a series. I do hate when people force (train) their pets to do things that are unnatural to their species…its f’d up!
Its impressive how someone can talk so much but say so very little. Functional fitness is like saying inner beauty, it objectively means nothing. Also might want to consider changing that thumbnail kinda fucked up.
agree with the principles of your methods but we didn’t evolve from primordial soup millions of years ago lol. We adapted according to environment but evolution no evidence at all
Running and climbing… It’s not difficult to realize if you look at it from an evolutionary standpoint.
I’ve been doing like 3 hours of myofascial release a day cuz im in stage 3 of his 10 week program. It’s just so tedious at times and can seem discouraging. I always feel a million times better after I do it, but sometimes i gotta come back here and watch this again to remind myself, “oh yeah, that’s why I’m doing it” good shit
Very good that is what I need in order to exorcise my body and my Soul.
I would revisit this again and again so that I can practise.
Amazing….so simple but amazing…I tried already 3 times and I absolutely love it!
Couldn’t agree with this more. People are out here trying to exercise to make themselves look like superheros, not realizing that’s not how humans evolved to be or look like… At all…
Good work, good exercises and very good system, with an understanding human biomechanics of movement.
alright you said biomechanics of head kick and grappling. also my mom has a buldging c3-c7. if you could throw me a bone I promise to site your work lol. hahahah
All training should be “functional”
There is no “functional”strength. There is only Strength!
I wonder how well NHL players would benefit from this type of training.
Don’t hear what he says: “too much rotation at the top…” “you need to tilt at the top…”
Anything wrong with calisthenics type exercises (weighted or unweighted) from a FP perspective?
Great stuff here. What would your normal routine be with these exercises? How many reps of each set, how many sets, in which order, etc? Thank you.
This is fucking stupid. Its just swinging………This is asking for injury without gains….No tension on the muscles, but tons of pulling on tendons…
Naudi, how do you use reps, sets etc for these type of trainings? Thanx for all the interesting videos!
Interesting as usual. Now for an athlete like this, does he do additional weight training for strength? This style of training isn’t going to build a physique and isn’t optimal for the development of maximal strength. It works on movement patterns and effective efficient force transfer. Have you ever developed a teenage athlete? Underweight, weak, lanky, using nothing but FP training? That is what keeps me from outright agreeing with everything and adopting this style of training. Could you one day do a video addressing that if others have that concern as well? Make a case for FP training for individuals with those needs.
It is suprising for me to see all these negative comments for FP. Seems to me that there are many who are jealous of this guy’s creativity.
It’s been a while since I don’t see as much amount of garbage put together
Nice vid. Be careful doing squats and not flexing the lumbar spine. As you went deep you could see that you flexed your lower lumbar spine, thus putting a flexion stress on the discs and spinal ligaments in a potentially injurious way. Squat are great, but I would squat to a depth where you can keep your L-sp neutral, stabilized, and safe.
If we could measure the muscle response/engagement on this it would be off the scale. Nice work! Love your vids.
Dropping knowledge bombs again and again. Keep up the great work, Naudi. People don’t want to hear the truth, they want to live in their bubble.
Aaaaaand this is why Kyle dake will nvr make a comeback and win the olympics
Would myofascial release work on cats that are already really flexible? I found it very interesting that you tried these techniques on a dog! Awesome video btw.
You got the point! People often misunderstand the real use of Functional Training and create their own meaning for it to just look cool and different.
I love the thoughtfulness of functional patterns and reciprocal movement, but I just don’t think this system is thoughtful enough to be useful in gaining strength. Most of the functional
resistance exercises rely on inertial effects and momentum, but because of inertia (in this
case the load being in motion) the dumbbell/kettlebell becomes essential “weightless” at the certain parts of the exercise due to moment arms and inertia. This is good if that’s your goal but bad if your goal is to train with resistance.
Man, I’d so run this shit, but my gym suffers from a distinct lack of sledgehammers.
This is a very bad video, you said nothing. Scattered thoughts…you need a script.
ppl who hate this are interested in looking good. This is made for specific purpose. If you want to get chicks with abs and big muscles this place is not for you.
the Glitch Mob!! dude what a coincidence, like those guys myself.
