Your program is so frustrating because of the poor management of the Facebook group. I would advise everyone to consider a more professionally handled program.
I always bring a glock to the gym, you know just in roid up jock gets in my face. Bang! Back to workout.
This is a great video! I don’t know if it’s limited to women but from a man’s perspective I must tell you… We go through it as well. I had to learn that the “gym stare“ that made me feel uncomfortable like everyone was watching me was something I ended up doing as well. We’re not judging anybody, we are zoning out during the rest period and staring at everything including the ceiling and walls. When I do it I’m not judging anybody. However, it’s a good time to look at somebody else doing an exercise we want to do just to see how it’s done. That increases our confidence that we can do it as well. I also found it helps to be prepared, as you say, by writing down in my workout journal the exercises I want to do ahead of time, then watching a YouTube video and even replicating the exercise at home a little bit so that I don’t feel totally awkward when I climb into those crazy machines. That way I’ll already have done the motions, and seen how it’s done before I arrive. I also initiate small chitchat at the right moment with regulars I see there. Once I did that I realized that even people I aspire to be as fit as go through the same thing. We all get frustrated, we all are working on areas that need improvement, and every single person in that gym is pushing past insecurities, goals, and struggles. Nobody is judging. Remember, huge respect for somebody who might be out of shape but is showing up, doing the work, and making it happen! If that describes you then you are my hero, you are awesome, and you are in the right place doing the right things! You are all awesome!
This was quite inspiring, thank you for sharing this. I’m sure it required a lot of bravery to go to the gym, and you’re braver than I am. But I will take inspiration from this and go to the gym too!
Gym etiquette! Good grief, one of my biggest pet peeves! Thank you!
well said…in addition to that I feel like the cats that been in the gym getting it in should respect who ever shows up and take them under their wing or give the advice I know I do.
I have gym anxiety and it’s totally a thing!! Omg
I woke up today at 8am and was so motivated to go to the gym….. then every ideas at the gym just hit me and I just change back into my pajama cuddled in with my dog and it was the best sleep ever!
This was so helpful!! Omg today was my first day at a new gym and trying to look for the equipment I want is complicated and looking lost does not help lmao thank you!:)
I’m scared of bringing my jojo siwa headphones because I’m gonna get judged
Pretty sure this will never get read on a video this old. But after four months of pure cardio on cross trainer this gave me the boost to start doing some weights today. Had zero idea what I’m doing, but, this will come in time!
Thank you
To be more comfortable go and start training with someone you know. Was expecting people to judge me, but instead got advice and friendly nods/handshakes daily. Gym is like micro community, people are always welcome. Of course from time to time douches go in and out, but no one cares about them, start today, get fit!
I’ve always listened to music in the gym but I’ve forgotten my earphones a few times over the last few weeks for some reason and I’ve noticed I get a better workout without the music, strange but true
Great video!
The headphones tip is the best tip that works really well for me, however sometimes people start talk to me and i find it super awkward…I need to put my headphones down, and then they stop, I play again my music and then they come back again and say smth I did not hear and make them repeat it, so I don’t look rude ugh..so annoying:D
Also I feel very embarrassed when a bring my own giant bright pink barbel pad LOL
you deal with it by telling the manager about these 2 guys snorting, farting, slobbering all over the female members and the manager and his personal trainer thugs kick these 2 out
That skin and those eyes popping in that lighting! Looking clean!
Fuck that touchy feely stuff. If you’re intimidated, go to Planet Fitness and get you a good Richard Simmons workout. The gym is where Beast and Men dwell.
Here’s the problem with a guy stop being a bitch and actually focus on yourself a workout
Hello mister No Surrender! I am mister Quick Surrender. I want to be like you
Thanks for this video! I joined a gym last month to get out of my comfort zone and it’s definatly out of my comfort zone! So this video was just perfect for me right now 😉
I weigh 360lbs and am embarrassed by my weight. I feel ready to lose this weight and you inspired me to give it ago tomorrow.
You could see them trying their best not saying “Stop being a lil bitch”
I walked into the gym super fucked up on anxiety, trying not to die because i sure felt like I was gonna, and I don’t even remember what I did at the beginning of my gym membership but here I am a year and a half in! I’m working back up from some trouble being too unmotivated to get back to the gym but I’m sick of getting softer when I almost had visible abs before I lost track! I have an anxiety disorder and I’m managing to get by just staying in a comfort zone at first, the stair stepper is my safe place, and then I get into it. Love you and your vids, Meg, you’re really so inspiring for me.
First, u fuckers r funny! Second, I don’t know why everyone says fist, or second, or third! Why people always have to number everything. It’s pointless..
About this topic tho,, ya focus on u. What people don’t respect is when you don’t know how to put yr weights away or wipe down the sweat or hog a bunch of machines at once,, ect ect ect
Wimp ass fool
Similiar for me, in the past when I’ve used a gym I’ve been shy of the weights area. Then I thought “fuck this, this gym is for anyone”, so I continued to walk over stood straight and confident, but not arrogant.
All the “beasts” looked at me like I was lost until I picked up the weights. Then I suppose they just respected me for entering their “territory”.
(Bare in mind at this point I was 17, 5 foot 10 and 126 lbs.)
Hey Meg… i usually perform Deadlift twice a week… once on Monday and other on friday….. but from past 2 week iam feeling slight pain on my left side of Lower back and kind off feeling a stiffness in left hip…. is it bcz of Deadlifting twice in a week…. is it safe to do it twice in a week?
(My DL is not so high…. iam performing DL from past 1.5 months….. max is just 100 kg.)
Im starting tomorrow at 16 stone at 16 time to make a change for me
Great Video. Y’all could have been mean, but you gave him great insight. Helps me too. Thanks
this made me cry omg I’m so proud of you man. you’re doing what I won’t ever imagine myself ever doing because I’m just so scared, and it really makes me hate myself. I’m a girl and I feel like if I go to the gym then all the guys would be staring and thinking “what am I even doing here”. You earned a new subscriber!
Good stuff Bro, I’m actually dealing with that now. But I’ll be just fine…but Thanx for the motivation
Thought i was a weak ass pussy for struggling at 110 pounds when i started (i weighted about 140 for 6.2 tall), glad to see them hodgetwins were in the same situation.
2020 quarantine and all that sh*t but as soon as it’s over I’m starting.
Man thanks for the video. I get scared of not knowing what to do at the gym…:/ I get overwhelmed finding workouts online..
Bruh i ain’t a hater but I noticed Kevin’s edge up is fucked up
This was the most positive, reassuring, exactly what I wanted to hear today you couldn’t even imagine.
I am very out of shape and have been recently trying my hardest to get back into shape. I feel like the guys are laughing at me because my workout is too ambitious for my current fitness level. I was fairly fit 2 years ago but had a couple injuries and 30 lbs. Of weight gain that crept up on me faster than I realized.
I see women like you, who are so strong and smart. It is the most empowering thing I have ever seen on this platform. I just wanted to say thank you and tell you that what helped me the most was your reassurance that everybody in there has similar struggles and at one point or other felt or feels the way I do. I really found this inspiring and I’m going to go back tomorrow even though I really struggled when working out today… with my confidence.
I’m not sure you will ever read this but if you do, Thank you truly.
Much love from Alaska ❤
You guys are good people. Down to Earth, fucking hilarious and doing this for all the right reasons. ✌️Glad to see all the success.
What! He loses 1 pound a week? Dang he good! I usually only lose half a pound
Dealing with Gym Intimidation… go to Planet Fitness. You are already more fit than 75% of the people there even if you’ve never worked out in your life!
I’m quite a newbie in the gym and really feel like I don’t belong. I sorta handled the anxiety for a while but two months in a dude came up to me and started talking about how I’m doing my exercise wrong, how I’m targeting all wrong areas and none of right… I just started crying on the spot. Um, awkward. Still struggling to go back there.
“Ryan…?! Ryan…?!” You made me laugh so hard! Love you!!!
This is crazy! Yesterday i was obsessed with how intimidating my first time going to the gym looked like and thinking thag everyone would be looking at me, it consumed so much mental and physical energy from me that, i just considered to leave my husband hanging and not going. I ended up going and designed my own program. I got on the treadmill but i couldn’t shake my thoughts away, it was so hard, i just did 20 minutes and had to leave. My husband was so disappointed and annoyed so was I and even more I didnt even realized that i took a big step in my life and just beat myself about it even today… Its hard after so many years of beign my own worst enemy to try yo be my own savior… But you still doing it and i look up to that…
Leave ego outside the door before going in, no one gives a fuck what u lift so do it for yourself
there are some muay Thai bullies in our gym. they wanna fight me
im more terrible when i was new im roaming the parking lot and looking if theres alot people lol haha takes me 30 min to go in now i go in and no fucks given lol
Great video Ashley thank you for sharing this video I have gym anxiety but I am working on dealing with it .
I was in the military at 17 and thought the same damn thing, “as long as I have checks I have money.” I use to go to the Unbank in Kentucky outside the post and give them a check for $150.00 (post dated a week) and they would give me about $100.00 cash.
Yea, I was an am one dumb ass moth$@%%#
I like the new videos, but I also like this set-up too: brick background, in ur face action, sitting, clean radical tshirts (shoulder popping uummmh_ optional). I think both their “get off me” intros are pretty cool_ it’s cool when they both say it (see road rage fight video), but overall, I hope they do what they wannnnna do!
I started with a program that was written by my trainer. I wrote it in a book and that told me exactly what I need to do. By doing this I just focused on what I had to do and didn’t even really see the other people. I have more than doubled my maximum weights in the past 8 months for squat bench and deadlift. Love seeing my progression and feel so good. Love watching Megs videos so real and encouraging.
I loved this video. I don’t let it stop me, but I see people at my gym staring at me and wondering why I don’t lift more for a guy my size. No matter what you do people will look and judge. Don’t worry about that. Focus on your goals.
Tonight I decided I don’t want to die. I can’t say for certain I’m going to hit ground running, but I’m ready to take my first steps.
Be careful with the amount of cardio you do guys, if you over do it on cardio you can sometimes feel a huge hunger after you finish your session which in turn makes you eat more then you would have eaten if you hadn’t done cardio, therefore you would be eating more calories then you had burned on the treadmill or bike or which ever cardio machine you use!
I started at 220s-230s lbs and am now down to lower 180s lbs upper 170s lbs. It fluctuates even now. I did it pretty riskily. I would eat something small than go outside and do soccer for as long as i could till i felt exausted(longest cap was 6 hours). I had gone down bellow 200lb so then i joined a gym and with friends they motivated me to get down lower. My target goal is to get to 160lb. I also changed my diet and started drinking a lot more water. I really seriously started losing weight a year ago. I had to for health purposes which of now i am currently cleared of.
I’m a football player and we have a lifting class but I didn’t take it this year so I’m trying to go regularly but I do have the fear of being the clueless guy
US bigger guys don’t mind newer people working out alongside us. I have an experience if you want to hear it. I don’t give advice unless asked now. This skinny guy was doing barbell shoulder press in my gym one side at a time. I asked my boys “should I say something?” They nodded. Went over to tell him just do dumbbell isolation because I feel like the weights might fall out and break the bones in his foot or somebody’s foot. He said the trainer told him to do it that way.????? I said it’s just advice. Worried about your safety. Went back to what I was doing, and then one guy told me he heard “fuck your advice” came out of his mouth. I was pissed at the punk for saying that. I said to the boys “not worth giving advice anymore to people that are rude.” So wait till they ask! I should’ve known better. Can’t fix stupid.
Your an inspiration dude thank you so much top man you are ❤️
“FUCK OUT THE WAY! GIVE ME SOME ROOM.”
scoots forward
“There you go.”
brix I’m gonna earn my x ft boy tee..just ur intro alone motivated me from the first video watched. when I get where I want to be I’ll buy 5 of them jawns. lol
Bruv, TBH I used to have gym intimidation when I started going, but now after I’m done with the treadmill I feel like there is nothing else to do, you feel me? Like I don’t know what to try at the Gym. can anyone give me some suggestions???
dude i fuckin love you dudes and your entertaining and just all around fuckin cool man
Can you make videos for teenage boys trying to lose weight and gain muscle???
I am so glad I found your channel. I’m enjoying your content!
Idk why so many people feel intimidated at the gym. With me when I first started as a small fish in a big pond, I never felt intimidated by others, instead I got determined to get better. If I saw a huge guy benching 405, grunting and being loud, I looked and said “i wanna be like that 5 years from now, so let’s work hard and see what we can do. It’s payed of tremendously now. So when you go to the gym, don’t be intimidated, get determination from it instead.
You are so right bro, I was so scared to go to the gym and now people tell me I look great! Whatever we do, we do it because it helps us, not thinking about what they are gonna say. I wish I watched this before!
I just use the display weights at big 5 and stores like that until I get kicked out
Bets tip is just fucking showing up to the gym and not giving a fuck about what others think
Thank you for making this. I just found you this year. Thanks for mentioning that part about the forms and evaluations at the beginning of the gym session. It is real. I am not a newbie to working out; but I do quit often, because every time, the trainer would try to “motivate” me by saying, “You want to burn that fat, don’t you?” or “Yes! Go! Burn that fat! Come on!” Like, yes I did say I need to be fitter because I have PCOS and I’m just expanding in an uncomfortable size and it’s affecting my ankles that I am no longer able to comfortably climb mountains or perform figure skating as I did when I was a teenager. But I did not SAY that I would like to be reminded how fat I am now, each time. No. I would like to focus on getting this set done. Then totally crushing this whole routine. Then destroying this whole week’s routines. I would like to be able to come back regularly and feel powerful and feel like I can get through my workout without dying, or feeling confident enough to increase my difficulty. I want to get to that point where I’m craving the workout that once made me feel like dying. I do NOT want to think about my fat. My body will be the size that it needs to be. And my body will burn these fats when it needs to. And I want to just be stronger for it and put in the work for it, so that my body can be healthy enough to properly do the work that it needs to do. Okay? Okay.
I’m going to gym today for the first time. Wish me luck! I’m pretty anxious
I know this video is like a year old, but I wouldn’t bother trying to build muscle. Whatever muscle you do build will be extra added weight. Just focus on cutting down imp, but your body your life
This guy.. deserves more attention.. lets share this video…
I really hate people staring at the gym. Especially if they see you do something wrong, they dont even help they just stare. One time I hurt my back when I was deadlifting wrong, people just stared and didn’t say a word. It’s just so cruel when really pumped guys and girls won’t even help the beginners so they just stare at them doing it all wrong until they hurt themselves.
Consistency,( the key )!!! Respect, Funny! Youngsters now a days, know of the word… Though don’t know how to execute it,( RESPECT )… REPLACE WEIGHTS PROPERLY & PICKUP,( clean ) AFTER YOURSELF!!!!! -> WAYNES DOMAIN
I think my anxiety stems from the fact that I overthink anything! There are exercises i’m dying to do at the gym but I get so overwhelmed by the thought that I might not know how to use the equipment I want to use. I don’t want to look clueless at the gym or spend ages with equipment trying to figure out how to use it.
it too me SOO long to get out of my comfort zone (years actually) I used to be cardio queen, and I got so skinny with no shape. Now I went out of my comfort zone, weight lifting and & I feel confident. Now Im making my own fitness channel here on youtube to help others like me who gym anxiety. Great video! Your transformation is incredible!
It’s freaking annoying that people don’t just continue what they are doing and mind their own business, but I try to tell my self that they are Intrigued with my looks and are just hating lol!! Besides I’ve been in scenarios when there has been girls or kids being bullied by big dudes, and there has been plenty of bad boy tattooed guys and body builders who do nothing and I have found my self stepping in to help out as opposed to this dush bags that act like they got wings at the gym!
thank you so much for this video <3 I spent 5 months working out home only bc i was so scared to be awkward at the gym. But now I live in student accommodation where there is a gym so I pushed myself and now I go for 3 weeks I use some machine sometimes:)
I try to remind myself that there’s always someone stronger, fitter and/or better looking than me and that’s ok.
I just randomly got here and I don’t really need help but I honestly love your energy and vibe. Cheers!
Do you write for precor because some of your video is almost word for word from a precor article?
Great thought!! I commented on your last video and hopefully if possible, could you shed some light on it? Keep up the great work, very inspiring.
I became so energized to try the diet program “Yamzoko Weebly” (Google it). I did not alter my very own eating habits and didn`t increase my exercise level. Over a period of a month, I shed around 6 pounds. The process has let me consumed less and getting full is a lot faster..
This is so nice of you guys. I have Asperger’s AND I’m a lifter and a gym has to be just right for me. I get freaked out with too many yellers and really loud sound systems. It doesn’t have to be a tomb, but I like it quiet and not crowded. Some people love it loud and crazy and I get that. If anyone reads this and is scared of gyms, just tweak the hours you go (non-busy), have your own music, go with a friend or whatever makes you comfortable and find the gym that fits your personality. Going to the gym sure beats watching more TV, drinking in a bar or smoking weed w/your buddies. Good luck.
I like how that dude with glasses got taller after going to the gym lmao
Can someone tell me what is the name of the song at the begging of the video?
this video could have been an hour long just discussing the types of personalities you bump into at the gym while trying to improve yourself. it’s almost like the gym is a place for people that are already in shape and people think you’re crazy for showing up out of shape-LOL!!!
Thanks for this I’m no stranger to the gym but trying to lose fat after gaining weight & failed programs creates insecurity and paranoia Thanks for the motivation I’m gonna try going when it’s less crowded for now
What is the word under “single” on his shirt? It’s driving me crazy!
whats up brix! I’ve been using some of your work out videos to help me in the gym. Before i used to just hop from machine to machine and dumbbells not knowing how to properly use it, but from watching your videos ive learned how to use proper technique and form. I’ve put a little work out program for myslef for a weeks traning at the gym. your chest work out video really helped me. ive just always done dumbells and not knowing how many sets and reps to do. thanks for all the videos you put out there. #brixfitness
People who are paying attention in the gym are the people who aren’t there to actually work out. Almost nobody cares what you’re doing in the gym unless you’re a hot chic. And that only last for so long too.
In fact the gym makes good motivation if you see others around you working out hard and focused. I spent the first year in a gym doing what the best, in shape and most focused looking, people were doing around me. Them pushing sort of shamed me into pushing too.
Fuck we all have different goals…not everyone wants to be a bodybuilder.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. I just joined a gym and I felt a little gym-timidated too. I needed this video
There is this jerk trainer in my gym…she constantly judges me for my body by saying “have you gone fatter” I hate it so much!!:(
Omg watching this eating a chopped cheese &feeling SO guilty.
Everything is in the mentality. Your body is a state of the moment. The thing is to go to the gym. Just do it and think what you can be one year from now, it is not a fast process. That’s what got me going. And also when I was thinking about going or going and stopping I got to think what it could have been if I didn’t stop one year ago and just started going and never went back. Again, slow process, I also started going by myself, watched many videos on how to do the exercises and slowly introduced more and more exercises, don’t be conscious about how much you’re lifting, focus on it being hard, because the muscle doesn’t know numbers. So I don’t give a damn if I’m lifting 50 or 100 and the guy next to me double that, because it’s hard for me and it’s that much hard for him also. He might be 15 centimeters and 40 kilos more than me, take this into account. And don’t stop. I was a skinny guy. Now I’m putting some mass and many people around me are seeing me as a motivation. And everyone saying if I can do it so can you. Of course. It’s a body adaptation. And it’s a process of learning like everything else. Learn the movement, learn how to activate the muscles properly, don’t swing too much weight, use less but more effectively, it looks embarrassing to see someone do this, I respect the people doing their proper weights and proper movement. I’ve been there. Done it the way it’s supposed to be done. Try to eat good and sleep, you’ll be drained if you don’t do it.
Thank you for posting this. I have ridiculous anxiety. So my friends who keep offering me to ride along with them on there bring a friend card goes to waste. I want to go but I just feel so spooked so I workout at home all the time.
This video was so helpful! I get anxious sometimes and it actually got so bad before Christmas there that I didn’t go to the gym for almost 2 months. Mid December I decided to go back and initially felt super paranoid about how many people would be in and I was worried about people looking at me. I’ve been training again consistently for the last few weeks and it’s become a lot easier now:) I write my workouts out the night before I go to the gym and I always go first thing in the morning when it’s dead. I love having my headphones on and getting some heavy music on too
Thank you Brix, genuine encouragement from someone who knows the fitness struggle.
Hey dude! Great vlog!
I actually just made a vlog about going the gym, because I can remember all these things myself! (judged etc)
Feel free to watch it! So cool to see you out of your comfort zone!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqXDCC0IgJA
For years as a woman I was afraid to lift heavy weights or go on the weight machines because that where all the “big scary men” were. Now that I’m more confident in my plan and form I walk in, headphones on, head held high and do my thing that I own that bitch! Ladies don’t be afraid to lift or go into the “man cave”.
I felt like this all the time now I’m flying mate thank you
these guys are approaching an ENTIRE MINUTE of horse shit that you have to skip to get to the content…
i’m done with them
best split screen ever way better than patty duke. good job BRO. YOU ARE ONLY ONE! I see through your magic!
bro.. this video was fire bro. Really appreciate it. keep up the good work.
I used to get almost sick from anxiety everyday going to the gym until my love for lifting and confidence from strength helped me overcome my fear of what people think. Now going to the gym and listening to music is my favorite me time. It changed my entire life mentally, physically, emotionally etc as you said. It’s so worth pushing through those of you who are just starting out. I love seeing new people working hard and learning it makes me realize how far I’ve come. Nice tips Meg!
that is so true. I walk around and try things that look cool
I truly know what your talking about bro thanks fam Manofgodfitness out.
I was 349 lbs December 2016 and weighed in at 295.2 this past Monday. These videos are very motivating as I’m basically walking a similar path. Thanks again!
haha loved the sneaky, ‘get money’ at the end of the vid. Always motivating
if you afraid of going to the gym just know no ones cares and the only thing thats gonna get people mad at you or judge you is when you sitting on a machine with your phone.. dont be that guy please. Every one is at the gym to get fit just like every one at the mall to shop. you dont get intimidated going shopping right? Gym is no different. Most people at the gym are nice and like i said they dont care. If you get some head phones and blast some music your good to go…. just dont sit on machines or work out on multiple machines at the same time.. use one machine then move on. Also gym intimidation only last 1-2 weeks.
Nice video man,I just lost 10k and trying to lose another 10kg before August and I will hit my goal and be happy:) so please inspire me I need some motivation and thank you
I remember those old concrete weights. Deep Penetration! Hahaha!
stop being a….. stop worrying what other people are thinking about you.
lmao
Used to get scared to go cause I’m not so fit and I don’t really know how to workout. But honestly having workout videos on my phone really does help cause it’s just me and my video and I can ignore everyone else cause it doesn’t give me time to think about jt
If anybody who’s struggeling anxiety, needs somebody to talk to about it, feel free to leave your ig in the comment and i’ll hit you up
I have a question. Im a regular at my gym. Im a man and the personal trainers stare at me and when i say hi they have this look like “why are u saying hi to me?” I try to ignore it but i dont wanna be an ass. What’s that all about?
You guys do realize most of the time in the gym is spent resting between sets?
Ok. Time to get er done. I’ve been hemming and hawing, have driven to the gym three times to join, seen all the cars, and driven right back home. I’ve been in and out of shape three different times. 55 years old now and almost 100 over yet AGAIN. Thanks for the kick in the pants, words of encouragement, and helpful hints. I’ll be following… and I’ll get in that d’d gym door THIS payday. Promise!
Great advice. I’m 50 and just got back in the gym. Hell, my girl paid the yearly fee for both of us. That was her way of saying “Get off your lazy AZZ and drop that weight!” So you know I don’t give a FUCK about what people say or think.
It’s been a week and I haven’t lost weight I’m throwing myself away
If you could make a video about overcoming a hangover… that business would go viral af
I have been making use of this diet “Yamzoko Weebly” (Google it) for a few weeks now and so far I adore them! I have the energy I would like without having curbing my appetite without making me really feel jittery. I did nothing special on my diet plan and i also still are able to get rid of my weight to 7 pounds..
Hey +Fat Meet Fire, I’m a senior at High school and I’m 5’9 and weigh 295, do you have any tips in your video about burning fat because I’m planning on joining the United States Army and I want to successfully pass Boot camp.
When I first started working out in commercial gyms, I hated it bear in mind this was back in the late 80’s They were expensive The sales pitch was incredibly pushy they had inflexible contracts and were full of pretentious yuppie arseholes.
So I gave up until I thought I’d give the small local bodybhuilders gym a shot.
What a difference!
I could pay as I went pay weekly monthly whatever suited me.
And despite not training for BB purposes, the guys and girls there were a breath of frsh air always willing to help imprrove my form and my lifts encouraging and supportive
My newest go to guide avoid gyms with instagym bunnies because they attracts the Chads and such who enjoy being the harassers in a gym, and if they see a new guy with a bit of side-handles they pounce and stand a bit close and talk a bit loud and then they let the insults rip at the guy, tried a planet fitness in recent years and it was full of those kind of guys.
So i went back to the smaller gyms a bit higher price but you do not get those kind of guys with power lifters and body builders and if you have one or two of them others tend to shut them down and you had one episode with them, they know they need the people to pay the fee and such to keep it open and if they get the reputation of being elitist or a-holes it ends up having to shut the doors.
When I go to the gym and exercise i want to go both for my mental health and to look good lol. However, at the moment there is nothing stress relieving about going to the gym. After a long stressful day at work the last thing I want to do is to experience more anxiety. Struggling with social anxiety does not help things. How many sessions at the gym does it take to not feel anxious anymore?
Come on it depends on what gym u go if u go to planet fitness u don’t have to be embarrassed everyone there are newbies
I feel like simply doing pushups would help a fuckton, strength wise, especially if your a beginner.
No one really cares what you do and if they laugh at you, does it matter? Just hit the gym.
The gym is about self improvement not some kind of bodybuilding competition
You got any advice for women that get harassed by guys at the gym? My wife stopped going because guys kept hitting on her.
Gym is the easiest thing on this planet. No drama, no arguing, not nothing. Just train like a maniac and enjoy.
Well said, who cares about who looks and stares just start the process
german guy here: As much is i would like us germans to take the fame for that proverb at 0:26 it really isnt… had to research like a full hour to find that it indeed is a norwegian proverb… anyways great video as usual
I just got home from my first workout, I went 3:30am so no one was there, went around and found the machines I was going to use, then people came slowly, but I knew where to go and what to do. The hardes time is the first, next time will be easy because I know where to go, what to do, and how the machines work:)
It’s impossible for me, I’m 13, and the only gym I have near that would let me workout is the Y, but I don’t have a car, and get a bunch of homework RIP
i was still terrified of joining a gym because I’ve struggled with an eating disorder (recovered now)and I feel everyone would stare at me the way people used to but this really did give me some confidence to go join which I did today thank you I really did need this push because my health and confidence has been in the toilet lately thank you
When I began going to the gym, it was to lose some weight and train my body to be a better cricket player. When I looked around at the power lifters and body builders, I had to remind myself that I’m doing my thing and they’re doing theirs for different reasons. It helped me stay focused on my goal and kept me from being self conscious.
walking is not cardio
i walk 10 miles everyday
im still unfit as fuck
i have a bad heart
I know lots of people that go to my local gym and know they will laugh
Thanks for video, been wanting to go to the gym, but as a “anti social” person Iv been avoiding it. YMCA was a place I hadn’t considered. I’m signing up bruh, keep on pushing
I’m super skinny and feel like I’d I go to the gym I’ll be embarrassed of my max weight
I been going a few months now with a plan mostly as a lone wolf and I tell ya nothing forces you to bust out a few more reps like the rocky soundtrack or Rammstein for that matter
my job starts at 8am… and my gym opens at 4:30am.. think its enough time to get a session in and shower and eat afterwards? I’m only 19 but feel like a routine that early in the morning will change me for the BETTER..
The biggest thing for me was research. Understand what and why. Also watch some funny vids to enjoy it
Because I’m homeschooled, I can go to the gym whenever I please, so it’s awkward being the only 17 year old in my gym, but I found my solace in squats. I dream of being a weightlifter and my trainer calls me squat princess. I love squatting so much!
Don’t be afraid of the buff/rip dudes; they used to look like you but they’ve only been in the gym longer. I appreciate a beginner trying to stay to get in shape as long as they show sweat. Technique can always be taught by the experienced people so don’t be afraid to ask.
my biggest issue is motivation and energy, also doesn’t help the gym I go to is a good 20 minute drive, I know these are all excuses but they keep me from sticking to anything. How do you get that motivation? that energy? that drive? i’m currently 300lbs, a weight I said I would never see…
The transformation from being nervous in the gym, to being confident is so damn satisfying.
Hope you enjoy the video, let us know if you’d like more in this series! It’s actually based on one of my first blog posts on our website http://www.buffdudes.us and unfortunately it was lost in an update a year or two back. I figured since it was destroyed why not remake it as a video. Hope you enjoy! -Hudson
I hate being fat it’s so uncomfortable in school you feel like a big fat ice cream melting it’s mad annoying
These tips were helpful! It’s good to know that even more experienced gym goers like you don’t always feel completely comfortable in the gym:) Noticed you’re wearing the gymshark seamless amplify leggings in the gym clips, what do you think of them? I think the nylon in the energy seamless might make me itchy sometimes haha so hoping the amplify don’t!
I fucking hate going to the gym because everyone from school is there it sucks ass mate
Oh my God!!!!
Been 2 months in the gym; straight cardio for one month 5 days a week, 3 weeks into weight training, and today I attempted to do Glutes. I did 3 set of 20 deadlifts, and only 10 weighted squats….and ran away to my comfort zone…..Imma try again next week.
This has inspired me alot. I was beginning to lag behind and am just now preparing myself to go to the trade mill.
If you’re afraid of going to the gym, go between 3-6 am. The weight room is empty. LOL
I have only been going to the gym for 6 months now so I’m no expert but here is what I did and have recommended to friends.
1) Go when you’re comfortable. If you are embarrassed people will tell you dont be because no one cares if you’re fat at the gym. If i see a bigger guy I have respect for him because getting started is hard. With that said I got a 24/7 anytime fitness membership so I could go late at night. At my gym I would see one or two other guys there once in awhile and it got me used to being around other gym goers. Now I dont care if I go during prime time.
2) Start the habits. It takes about a month to form a habit and 2 weeks to break it. Go to the gym 4 days a week and force yourself to go. You could even just walk for 20 minutes. That is what I did when I started. I am just now doing this with my food intake so I can start cutting fat.
3) Get a program that is designed to build strong blocks for you to work with. When I first started I did workouts I remembered from highschool and would work out till I was sore. I decided a month ago that I need a plan and my beginner gains are reaching their peek. I am not saying you have to do this one, but I got the Athlean-X starting program. There are other ones out that that are free but I like his content and figured I could support him and get a program from someone I trust.
4) Dont worry about diet at first. Doing to much at once turned away a friend of mine. This could be wrong but if your goal is to lose weight ONLY then just focus on your diet. If your goal is to gain muscle and lose weight then focus on going to the gym first. You will lose fat while working out, then when you reach a wall you can start working on your diet.
5) An object in motion stays in motion, an object at rest stays at rest. This is my quote that makes me force myself to get to the gym. I repeat it to myself everytime I know I need to got to the gym. Find your own motivation or use mine. I also listen to Audio Books on Audible while working out. Makes me want to go to the gym just to listen to my books.
I bought a power rack and train at home. Never had a gym membership before either. BUT I still consider joining a local gym sometime.
I’m currently studying in a smaller town in China. My gym anxiety is heightened by the fact that I KNOW most everyone is actually staring at the only foreign girl in the gym. It’s been extra hard for me
9AM 2PM is usually the right time for me. Apart from the usual food tips, nothing beats being able to get into the gym and get your thing done. But due to my varied work schedule, my workout usually gets tossed thanks to all the 20-something brats hogging all the benches.
So glad I got over my gym anxiety. Realized that my health is worth a lot more than feeling a little silly in the freeweights section lifting 4 kg dumbbells while the dude next to me is lifting 30 kg in each hand lol. I’ll get there.
I first went to a commercial gym when i was 14, i went with my sister that was nearly 10 years older than me, i was really thin, and kind of worried that people would look at me cause I was skinny, and one day this really muscular guy told me “Way to go man, nack then i was even skinnier than you and it took a while but you need to keep going man”
I know i’m a bit late, but I just wanted to thank you. I’ve struggled with being overweight for a few years now and tomorrow is my first time going to the gym so i’m absolutely terrified. I always thought that everyone would be so much older and fitter than me and that i’d just look stupid, be unable to workout before getting too tired and overall just wander around like a confused lost child. Luckily I stumbled across your video and I have to say it really helped me you’re honestly an inspiration and i’m actually looking forward to going now. Anyway, thank you very much and good luck to anyone else nervous about going to the gym! You can do it!
Literally no one in the gym gives a f about a beginner. They are wayyy too busy with their own workout to worry. Realised this on my first workout.
To me watching educational videos on different excercises really helps to boost confidence. I am sure about what i’m doing now.:)
Gonna be real, I used a ton of the alternative exercises on SbtD until I could work up the courage to do the exercises that hit my anxiety cuesand I still do if I’m having a bad anxiety day! But once I started working my way into the more intimidating areas, the people either didn’t care, or noticed I was nervous and were super helpful.
This whole time I thought you were saying “tired of this video”. Took me years to realize you were saying “title”… omg
Men god damn what the fuck is that heaven action going?? Too much light
I’m very self conscious about my weight. I’m 15 and super skinny and don’t know how to overcome this. Everyone calls me anorexic, light weight, and skinny boy. I feel like when I go to the gym it will be the same thing and people will judge me for not being able to lift a lot of weight. Please help.
I remember I ended up stopping going to weight room workout in my school cause people were laughing at the weights I put on my bench bar. I got all insecure cause all these 200 + lb dudes thought they were so cool lifting more than me, a 118 lb dude
I feel bad when using a commercial gym because I take up the squat rack for 44 minutes
the intros of these fuckin videos are insane. i dont even lift, i just watch these cause theyre so gadam hilarious
Thank You Sir for this Introduction Preview. Gonna hit the gym soon.

I’m scared to go to the gym my Town only has one and the girl I like goes to it
Everybody is in the gym for the same reason. Dont be worried about what the big huge muscular guys are thinking because you are the furthest thing from their mind.
330 at 16. I’m making a change. Going to the gym with my brother.
To be honest. I’m terrified that someone will film me while I’m busy figuring things out.
What people think about you and your goal is none of your business
I’ve had a gym membership for the last 3 months and haven’t gone once.. and I’ve been so anxious. Ahhh thanks for the tips!
I mostly get anxiety bc I’m scared I’ll have HORRIBLE form and people Lowkey judging me like “wow does she have any idea…” and it’s hard to try new things plus safety if I need a spotter for new lifts
I watched this video when it first went up but came back to it today because I’m really struggling to hype myself up to go to my new gym. I switched because the COVID 19 restrictions at my old gym were interfering too much with my work outs, but all I’ve done is sign up and take the tour of the new place. That was two weeks ago and I haven’t gone back since. My boyfriend, who helped me get comfortable going to the old gym, has stopped lifting and flat refuses to go to the new gym, (where he used to go when he was competing in powerlifting) so this time I need to get over my anxiety by myself. AlsoI’m really enjoying your nutrition course! ❤️❤️❤️
I wen’t to planet fitness when i started out. You’ll feel like a veteran bodybuilder compared to the fat slobs
Last time I went to the gym I was lifting and a dude told me I should smile:|
Some people love to make others feel so uncomfortable for feeling good and comfortable in their own body and own skin…grrr
Me and my wife is currently watching your videos. She wants to know how long it took you G to transform
I think Terry Crews had such a good answer to gym anxiety. from a reddit AMA, he basically said to treat the gym like you would a spa. Take your time, don’t rush, and treat it like ‘you’ time. Taking that mindset helped me so much
Usually when I’m looking at bigger dudes in the gym it’s to see how they lift, not because of intimidation.
Not try to be rude i think u should focus on burning fat insted of bilding musle
What if your anxiety is not so much related to performance or body shape? I think I get anxiety from those things, but another issue is a crowded gym and literally finding space to do the exercise I have planned. If I have a specific workout planned, and I end up looking around because I can’t find a free machine or a bench, I start to panic because I feel like the workout isn’t going to be effective. Otherwise if I’ve got space, generally I’m fine. Sometimes off-peak hours aren’t possible. I feel like I’m taking up space, like people are going to be angry with me. Omg if someone asked me for a spot I would run in the opposite direction.
this is very helpful, thanks!:D i haven’t been to a gym in over 2 years, and at that time i was going with a friend, now i’m completely on my own and don’t know what to expect. much respect, keep it up!:)
great video, though please turn down all your sound effects and turn your voice up, really struggled to hear you
These guys have the greatest introduction on Utube. First class!
On my way to the gym and I really needed this!! I wasn’t going to come but I decided to find advice instead!!! I’ve had a bad experience where I overheard the girl saying she was going to upload me to Snapchat and I just completely stopped what I was doing and left. And I ended my journey there. She made me feel like I didn’t belong
Bigger framed individuals like yourself require more space to manouvre. It would be great if a plus sized person opened up a chain of gyms for other plus sized persons-potential untapped money making niche overlooked majorly, right there-you reckon?
Yesterday was day one for me very sore today i just started looking up videos to see how other people like me made the change I have anxiety bad and it was hard lot of eye’s looking at me like why am I ever there I just kept telling myself it had to start somewhere tho I was in a motorcycle accident 3 years ago after I recovered from kidney surgery my body hurts ruptured disk in my lower back 3 bulged disk in my neck and we’re they cut me open feels like a big painful knot in my side and from laying around I’m extremely stiff if them people new me they might understand why I’m so week this video was helpful today I did not feel alone on this journey
Great video! I’ve learned to go into a bubble when I have to go to the gym alone. It can be so intimidating. What’s with the “get money” sentiment? Seems a bit misplaced.
Great reminder about leveraging feelings of discomfort in the gym and in life.
Hi meg squats im your another subscriber hope to see many vids from you
Your my crush
I can’t tell if you are saying that squat is wrong because you drew a red line and had a red circle as if to say stop…..I squat ass to grass so if that’s what you are saying I completely disagree. Maybe use green instead of red if you didn’t mean it. Good god.
Gym anxiety is everyone else can and does experience these same thoughts. look at me and others in the eyesi will show you i am simlar
Thank you for sharing. I’ve recently joined a gym. I’m not out of shape but I’ve started lifting. This old creep at the gym keeps staring and trying to say dumb stuff to me. I feel like he’s discussing me with the other guys who seem to be trying to be more respectful. I feel a bit better after watching your video. I’m not going to let him prevent me from continuing my fitness journey.
A year ago I went to the gym for the first time and did 10 minutes on the treadmill and then walked out. All the equipment and machines were seriously intimidating. IT was like looking at the bridge of the Starship Enterprise and being expected to go to warp speed. BUT luckily my husband showed me a couple of machines, and everytime I went I tried a new machine, and eventually free weights etc. This is by far my FAV Meg video! it is definitely spot on! <3
Lol i have been going to the gym for a really long time and know alot of people there and i still get gym anxiety sometimes lol its all good
Thank you so much for this video. I’ve struggled with so much anxiety that it has kept me from joining a gym or attending my uni’s rec. You’ve definitely inspired me and gave me a bit more confidence. I’m planning on trying out a gym or two this week so I hope it goes well.
Joined a gym last night, first time ever. 45 years old. Got my induction tomorrow and am feeling pretty nervous. Silly really. This video helped a bit, so thanks. I hope I can get into a good routine.
keep it up bro, you will get to your goal and you won’t even noticed when it happened! (that happen to me at least hahaha)
Thanks man I need this I started a month ago lost 7kg it’s not nice to begin with with people looking at you but your there to do you not them
Thanks bro really appreciated it was my first day yesterday and it was really off but over coming the fear also I’m 16 so felt of even more as felt like people would be looking at me more
One of the biggest things for me was starting to write down and plan out my workouts ahead of time. It made a HUGE difference in my fitness game.
Started to work out yesterday. Went to gym 2 days straight.
But right now. This very minute! I’m sitting in front of the donut shop fighting urge not to go in. It really sucks I have to battle with this.
Me: has a home gym
Also me: still watches because I love and support Meg
most the pricks are scrawny bitches who see their abs or fat fucks who have a strong bench just put your music on and fuck them
Hi, Have you thought about selling your own brand of Women’s activewear? I run a fashion site and I have recently ran into the oppurtinity to sell quality activewear and I am looking to partner with a Youtuber. Let me know if you’re interested for further details. Thank you
Best wishes
Xavier Cruz of Exosupplyco.com
I’m I the only one who thinks this dude looks like a buff Sergio Ramos
I see people looking at me and I acknowledge it and get back to my routine. Who knows or cares what they think
It is fantastic to obtain this “Kοnοnοz yyd” (Google it) diet program. Second time making use of this guidebook and also have found an enormous change in my weight! Immediately after Two weeks, I shed my 10lbs of my very own weight. The tutorial has helped me transformed my body..
Headphones is a bad tip. How can you exercise without listening how your heart response? Big mistake/decision that modern ppl have. A good helpful tip is to always listen to the way you breathe
Good job again. When I started going to the gym (years ago) I took off my glasses so everyone was fuzzy. Now I’m so old I just don’t care anymore. HA!
I get so anxious about doing burpees and stuff at my YMCA where everyone else is chilling on the ellipticals…
thank you for making this video! I’m a gym newbie and everytime i go i feel like i have to always push myself and give that 110%
jsut to make people feel more at ease… when I first started going to the gym, I put clips on the smith machine…..
Watching this in 2019 and man you inspire me. I just signed up 3 days ago and i am fucking excited going every time! This vid makes me more excited so thank you.
I have been to the gym once and it was awful. I was watching a video with my earphones on about how to do some exercises and when I started some guys began to stare at me. I asked them if I do the exercise wrong and then said “no, you just look stupid because you are too young to go to the gym and you are only trying to make yourself look sexier” (btw i am 15 and i was doing a stomach exercise because of health problems)
I have discovered a lot from the “Kοnοnοz yyd” (Google it) and have burned a few stomach fat i never ever assumed I can remove and it also permitted me to make it the wholesome manner. Since using this guideline I have burned FIFTEEN pounds, and also have had more results toning up in a fitness center. I seem like it has supplied me further strength..
How many people are watching this because they are intimidated themselves and are so freaking proud of this guy going to the gym and overcoming his own gym intimidation?
honestly i get MORE anxiety seeing people i actually KNOW at the gym. I saw my trainer go in the morning when I did and I totally booked it in the other direction lol. I know he doesn’t care, but I’m hard on myself and I feel “oh if he sees me lift this weight, he’s gonna think that I haven’t done shit since I last saw him…” lol. What helps me, though, is starting off with my “comfort zone” moves to get psyched and more motivated to continue. The hardest thing is just getting started so i always leave the “intimidating” moves for last because I’ll be less motivated to start with hard moves that I’ve never done before etc.
If you are judging people at the gym then it is you who has issues, nobody really cares and you are guaranteed to see people with many fitness levels. I personally don’t care what other people are doing I get there and get to work, and if you don’t know how to use a machine or lift weights there are tons of tutorials or just ask it beats getting injured.
The FB group is really amazing. I love the community there.:)
I was lucky enough that one of my high school friends had some equipment at his house, so I was introduced to working out in a more familiar environment with people I already knew and trusted, all of whom were more experienced than I was. I think that helped me tremendously. Big commercial gyms still feel a bit strange, but much less threatening and anxiety-inducing now.
It makes me so sad to hear people say they are afraid of the gym! Thanks for the video babe
Go get your heart broken give u instant motivation to go everyday LOL jk but in all seriousness nobody cares what you do in the gym everybody are focusing on themselves just put on ur headphones vibe out and lift some weights. People might look but its only cuz they are looking at ur direction during their in between set or taking a break. Just dont do something weird lmfao then people will deff look
Yo Brix you should do a vid detailing in depth all the benefits (physical, mental, etc) you’ve inherited since embarking on your journey? I kno the mission is always health but you never kno what little thing you’ve benefited from that would inspire a person to take that step.
I love how enthusiastic you are in the video. Keep going and don’t give up at any point. Much love <3
Two years ago I started going to the gym and I had massive anxiety. I didn’t wanna screw up or do something wrong. Two years later I go to the gym 6x a week and I can’t possibly imagine my life without it. It’s completely changed my life. Don’t EVER limit yourself, especially not on behalf of other people. I went from being bulimic and losing 50lbs and on a bad road to recovering and being a confident badass STRONG person. Educate yourself, have a plan, and follow it through. There’s no other way to achieve your goal. The only person that matters is you.
Best advice= If you put your shit back and don’t bother other people…NOBODY GIVES A FUCKKKKKK WHAT YOURE DOING IN THE GYM.
So effin proud of u, man, you look amazing and the time shows. Huge inspiration to everyone struggling with weight issues, thanks for sharing your story <3 been going to the gym and started on the tread also then moved to the bike and now I’m on weights, super excited too even tho I don’t look it either lol
Having a trainer is like having a buddy at the gym he and other trainers are getting me into powerlifting!
Bruh, me and the wife been discussing her joining the gym with me. She’s intimidated to even get started at the gym. She’s not obese at all, but actually the opposite, very petite. So this video along with Mrs Brix piece posted today are the perfect thing right now for me. I’ll show her this video and your wifey’s in just a few minutes. Also, I remember the feeling of a little intimidation when I started the gym in Jan 2016. I still get it now at times because I “think” I’m a weakling for my size. But I keep the headphones in, and my head down and GET TO WORK!!!! Keep up the greatness my guy! Hoping for a Durham/Raleigh area meet up sometime soon.
I started my journey 7 years ago, at a huge 406 pounds. I couldn’t hardly wipe my own butt. Now I’m 196 pounds. My gym journey started 5 years ago. Lifting heavy weights… Soothes my soul. I have ADHD and a lot of past issues. Lifting weights actually stopped me self harming after nearly 3 decades of self abuse and binge eating disorder. The Gym isn’t a hobby for me. It’s therapy, it’s medicine, it’s healing, it’s self care. I love your content, so helpful. So thank you for that Meg.
2 things that really helped me as a neurotic introvert
1. Training without my glasses, was safe enough to see the numbers on the dumbbells yet really blur out faces and gazes, combined with headphones I was in my own sweaty little bubble.
2. Youtube!!!!! it became my best friend when started with no coach, I took a photo of weird machines and back home I searched a ”correct form” video on every single machine I wanted to try, watched more than one video, and learned how to perform things correctly and safely, that alone built up my basic confidence as I knew I ”do not look” like a total newbe.
if I managed so can you ladies!! xoxo
One thing I found useful on overcoming anxiety was joining group classes back when getting started at lifting. Having an instructor lay out all the work and have people follow, and struggle in unison made it so I didn’t feel like I was going through it on my own
im a skiny guy, but just asking the people for help, or asking for someone to spot me is scaring the heck out me. Still haven’t gone to my gym, so close…
plot twist: no ones really looking at you at the gym, everyone’s doing their own thing, and they were once like you long ago. By showing up, you’ve already done better than 95% of the people out there that never show up.
I mean people looking at me and judging was partly it, but another big thing was that I just felt like I didn’t belong, everyone I’ve known that trains has always been these super active types. I come in, clearly overweight and having to constantly pull out my phone to see what kind of exercise I was supposed to do on top of when I looked around all I would see was all these buff dudes and fit girls. Now I know logically everyone starts somewhere, but goddamn if I didn’t feel like an outsider, couldn’t even afford a personal trainer since they are so expensive where I live. So I quit after 2 times trying to go alone. I guess this time I’ll try to work a bit from home first, see how it goes and try to continue it for a month or two. Then try again.
I can get into the gym, my problem is what do I eat? I’ve found countless diets and all that. I want to talk to someone like you, that has lost a substantial amount of weight, and learn what worked. I’m 34 years old 5’10 350 lbs, my blood pressure today was 150/100 and that scares the hell out of me. I need help with this, there’s so much out there that it’s overwhelming.
I was benching once at the gym, and I thought I could knock out a few more reps but I was wrong lmao, I failed and I didn’t have a spotter so I was struggling to get the bar off me and I felt everyone was looking at me lol
@hodgetwins you guys truly are honest advisors and also trure motivators for beginners like me..thank you guys you really made my day keep motivating
Doesn’t matter how unfit you are. Putting the equipment back where it belongs when you’re done is all that matters.
I enjoy seeing people who struggle with their weight in the gym, but I love seeing them come consistently like him
Thanks man this video really inspired me. I will be attending the gym for my first time ever tomorrow. I feel scared because I don’t know what to expect but hopefully it all goes well.
I’ve been going to a gym for several years. I speak for most people when I say I respect everybody in a gym trying to better themselves. No matter how skinny or big. If you’re new and don’t know how to use a machine or rack it’s no problem! Just ask a staff member or even a fellow gym user and we will gladly assist you.
got a little emotional cause you described me and my struggles
Hey you are so good in explaining…. I have watched so many videos but no one else explains for a beginer. you are such a great person.. You gave me the exact answer to my question which is how to start. This is my second week at gym and i go to gym at 4am. Trust me I have already started feeling so comfortable just because of your videos….. lots of love
If you can, its so good to surround yourself with ppl who will lift you up! whether thats gyming with a friend, joining a group class regularly or getting a PT. All these ppl will want to talk to you cause your familiar and will make you feel more comfortable.
When I started working out at LA Fitness, the guy who did my “assessment” told me I couldn’t meet my goals without him. And when I told him I’ve already lost 80lbs on my own, I don’t need him he was belittling me and making me feel like shit. Needless to say, he got fired. Worst Personal Trainer ever.
Getting on a powerlifting program was amazing for my confidence. Deadlifting 180kg in a public gym makes you feel like a king lol
Oh I wish i had this vid when I started going to the gym years ago bc this happened to me lol. Tbh the best thing u can do is just start going and focus on you and good music and I promise you nobody cares about what you are doing (except you meet a creep w unfortunately for women it can happen) but mostly MOSTLY you’ll feel great afterwards bc not only you overcame yourself on a mental level you also pushed yourself on a physical level and you will feel pretty badass afterwards. Growth is always outside the confort zone
Edit: also i know this is specially hard for overweight ppl bc society judges you enough already but imo the best thing u can do is show them that they are wrong and that you can be a fit energetic person regardless of how you look ♀️
How did you like learn to do the motions and stuff did you get a personal trainer or did you just go by yourself and Learn by like observing cuz I’ve been wanting to join a gym and I’m just seeing if I should get a personal trainer or not
Tomorrow is my first day going to the gym ever, I really want Brad Pitt fight club body
Agree 100%. I focus on the weight, clean up my station after i finish, use a towel either to put on the bench or to place in the squat rack to mark my spot. I finish as quick as I can and move on. Great video.
I helped my trainer run a HIIT class with 5 new people just last night. It makes me happy to see new faces and help people crush goals in 2020. I crush other people’s gym anxiety for them!
Great Advice Meg, I have several friends scared to go to the gym and one person said exactly what you did, she said she needs to get in shape before going to the gym or doing outdoor exercises. That is part of how you get in shape by going and doing it.
This is a great topic. I joined a gym, didn’t go to it felt way too insecure didn’t know what to train, how to train, what exercises to do ect. I discovered their group classes like HIIT training sessions and they are the best, must admit some weird people are out there that would stare at you the whole time while sitting on a trainer doing nothing the whole time and there’s also peopel who feel they are the best and are very aggressive with their spot in the class, god forbid you stood in the wrong one. I do go to classes now, but still feel super uncomfortable going to weight section where those big guys are and starring at you, although i wish i could know what i can squat or press. Without extra payment to a personsal trainer on top of an expansive gym membership i can’t see this happening…
I can’t make fun of a fat person in the gym cause you know, they are in the GYM. GYM.
Bro, try get motivated by the haters, the more people hate the more u should be motivated.
Here’s my 1st gym experience for you all.
Me: ” Walks In “
Jock: What you doing here fatty
Me: Eh….Trying to lose weight…?
Jock: Yeah….Not here you fat fuck. Go way.
Me: Fuck you dude, Whats your problem ( Try’s to walk by him )
Jock: Really? HEY BOYS.
2mins laterI am dragged out back getting the shit beat out of me by 6 jocks.
After it, I call the cops, they comeCop: What the hell happened??
Me: tells them the story.
Cop: Okay, Sit here we will be back.
Cop: Why did these guys take this dude out back and fuck him up?
Owner: The fat guy walked in and started talking shit about my boys, we don’t deal with that here
Cop: I see, Alright then.
Owner: tell him to never come back
Cop: So they said you was starting stuff, Don’t ever come back.
Me: What, Dude I was just trying to lose some weight and maybe find some guys to work out with
Cop: Yeah? Maybe talking shit not such a good idea then. I don’t see why your here starting stuff with these guys in the 1st place.
Looks like they took care of it tho so we are done here, you are lucky they are not pressing charges.
Me:……….
I am not posting this to scare people, My top advice tho is if your going into your local gym, Make sure you find friends that go there come with you to protect you and back you up.
Gym jocks can be dicks and cops don’t care.
whats worse than being overweight is when every one hates you for being different
Yesterday i signed up at the gym. BUT before going in, i was so anxious. I forced myself to go to the place and i sat in my car for 20 minutes totally over thinking. I found this video. Realised i wasting my time sitting in the car.. took a breathe and went in. And omg!
How amazing was that atmosphere. People working out didnt even look at me, they were too busy. Other people smiled and said hi, one guy even started talking to me (that hasnt happened in a while). The trainer was the friendliest lady ever, and talked about her fist time insecurities too.. she wasnt even the intimidating skinny fit af kind i always overthought about. She was a normal mumma with a lil belly and all smiles.
I signed up there and then. I walked out feeling amazing.. i just crushed my first mental barrier and goal! Starting tomorrow and i am so pumped. THANKYOU!
I’m 16 years old 6”2 and 264 pounds. I went to the gym yesterday and I genuinely enjoyed it. I lost 700 calories on the treadmill alone and I couldn’t be more proud of myself. For as long as I could remember I was fat and constantly bullied in school for my weight and sexuality. I’m exited for what the future in the gym holds for me. Right now it’s the summer and 1.5 months from the start of school. I’m hopeful for next year.
You are my inspiration. How fast did you run for, incline, duration?
A buddy of me who has made use of this unique “Kοnοnοz yyd” (Google it) guidebook went from FORTY-ONE inches waistline to 34 inches. I have been having this specific tutorial for a week and I have already found a difference. I possess a lot more energy and I have dropped Seven pounds..
I have already applied this specific “Yamzoko Weebly” (Google it) for a couple of days by now and the results are impressive. I have the power I want without having controlling my urge for food without making me feel jittery. I have not changed other things I am doing and have dropped 7 lbs..
80% of it is just getting there! + a good pair of headphones to get you in the zone
Ouuuuchhh I felt the burn….. advanced!:) no intermediate:(
A workout partner is just a bad idea for a beginner, I see so many people working out with a workout friend and usually they just multiply each other’s lack of knowledge in working out. The only time it doesn’t happen is if one of them knows how to workout but then folks who aren’t beginners aren’t very likely to be training with a beginner…
I fucking love this video. This is the exact same thing I tell anyone who is new to lifting. “You’re not here to impress anyone. You’re here because YOU want to get in better shape.” I’m glad that you guys understand that and don’t put down smaller guys. Its why your videos are the best.
It’s men and women in the gym and you keep looking at the guys I’m trying not to stare at squat booty them gym girls man.
i dont have fear of the gym, i’m just stuck watching youtube workout videos
i jus wish people didnt insert themselves into what your doing when your minding your own bizness
Great video Megan. In my personal experience I was surprised at the impact weight training at the gym has had on my mental health. I always remind myself how happy I am going to feel after training when I don’t feel like going.
I used to feel scared of going into the free weight area with all the big men huffing and puffing but it all changed after I booked some sessions with a personal trainer. She would take me to the weights area each time and teach me the basics of using barbells so when she left my gym I didn’t feel the need to find another trainer and was happy to train on my own. Most of the time I would be the only woman there.:)
Lastly, this thing about worrying if people are judging you, the truth is that you cannot control what other people think so even if they are watching you, there’s nothing you can do about it, so it’s best to focus on yourself and have fun lifting heavy stuff! x
Honestly, no one really notices you in the gym as we are all concentrating on ourselves. If we glance over it’s because we might be thinking about the next set, lunch or what’s on Netflix later on! I’m a 44 year old mom who has lifted for over 2 years now and get in the freeweight section, bench and squat with the ‘guys’ but they are very accommodating and even pass bumper plates to me
The gym is a joke. Bunch of fat ass women running around in yoga pants and a bunch of dudes on steroids or old men or just your average joe wanting to lift some weights.Nothing to worrie about just a bunch of insecure asshole’s like you.
Im not new to the gym but I hate when fuckboys stare at me and try to make eye contact. I’m not gay and I’m not concerned about what these chumps do. It was so bad that I went to a few females and asked them did I look gay and they all answered “no, in fact they said I look very masculine and attractive.” She said they were probably intimidated by me bc I’m one of the biggest in there. Regardless of my size and strength, if a person is curious just walk up and ask for advice, that’s what I did when I was starting. If I saw a guy with big tri’s I’d approach him and ask for tips and they were always happy to give advice (I don’t know many lifters that don’t like to).
My buddy is 29 years old, he was always something between 342 to 370 lbs, several months ago he started the gym and diet and now he’s 264 lbs and losing more. I’m 26, 233 lbs and 6.233 feet (he’s just) a lil bit taller.
Today would be my second day in gym, if he can so it’s obvious I can. And I’m tired of being fat and other things with it.
Im a music junkie so i constantly update my playlists gives me another reason too hit the gym.too listen too my badass music playlist and drown everyone else out!!!
You seems genuine and not a typical gym douche. I will subscribe.
If you’re a guy a really tight pair of underwear might be a good call. While you’re doing aerobics such as the treadmill, the blood is nearly completely diverted away from your penis and scrotum so they both shrink a lot and your penis becomes small and firm, this sensation can be really really weird but wearing tight underwear keeps it tucked away regardless so it doesn’t become prominent through your joggers.
See, I’m not new to going into a gym, I took weight lifting as a sophomore but a lot of times I sat out because I was a bit of a lazy shit head, lol. But it was also because we did the same routines everyday, and it got boring. We didn’t do abs or anything that mattered, well what mattered to me anyway. But it did give me more leg power and I was able to run faster, and I run even faster bare footed, that’s why people sometimes see me without shoes. I personally hate the damn treadmill, simply because I had one in my house for 7 years, and I hated it. If I could work out at the school’s gym that I went to, I’d be okay with that, but I doubt they’d let me since I no longer attend there.
I actually want my girl friend to go with me so I have a reason of motivation. She’s already fit as hell, so I need to be as well. But it’s not for her, it’s for me, and the fact that I kept putting it off for so long.
A lot of the time when the guys in the gym see someone overweight working out they’re thinking ‘good job man, keep up the good work!’. They’re probably praying that you can keep it going.
I am 50 years old years old and 4 years ago I was 471 pounds. I began with changing the way I ate. I quit eating chips candy cake and I started eating mashed cauliflower instead of potatoes and I have lost 200 pounds. I am now signed up at a gym I have started working out. Thank you for your videos I am looking forward to losing the rest of this weight.
I’m so embarrassed to go to the gym but I have to give it a try. Thanks for the motivation.
I really hate the word gymtimidation. C’mon guys let’s go for the goal and that’s it
Nobody gets judged at the gym. When i see someone obese or something else, i get happy that they’re trying to be healthy.
I actually found that avoiding the rush hour by going later worked better for me. 14 years of Uncle Sam forcing me to do early morning workouts not only never got me into a morning routine, it introduced stresses of limiting the workouts, being distracted because I had to closely watch the clock, and sometimes cutting things short and being stressed because of not getting everything done, all so I could get to work on time.
I found that going out later in the evening (my gym was 5 minutes away, so doing this was very convenient) let me focus on the workout and not the clock. In the mornings, if machines or stations were occupied, I’d start worrying about how much time I had. In the evenings, I could just walk a lap or two around the basketball courts until the station I needed was free. It also let me de-stress after the work day, so I was better able to de-compress in the evenings before going to sleep.
I’m a big, older dude with a resting MEAN face (born with it) And I see people in the gym avoiding eye contact because they think I’m intimidating… in reality, I’m an approachable nice guy. God bless!
Best thing that happened to me was me realising that other people at the gym really don’t give a shit about you. Like they’re there fot their workout and that alone, people don’t turn up at the gym to look at or judge other people
i used to feel bad with my fat. we went to spain in the middle of summer i was the only one on that beach wearing jeans and shirt. im still fat even tho i go to the gym 4 days a week
I have generalised anxiety with my autism but I’m going to try to go to the gym
I’m 15 and starting 2020 off with a boom I’m tired of being over weight and I’m starting my journey now want to see my progress in the next month follow me @chad15._ on instgram
I’m going through the hoodie treadmill phase right now it feels good to know you went through it too! Thank you!
I have been going to gyms for 20+ years. I hate Jan because of all of the resolutes. But if all of the new members followed this advice I would be fine with the new members.
From my perspective, the biggest issue with new members is they don’t take any time to become comfortable with the gym. They use equipment incorrectly which leads to it breaking. They don’t take any time to learn gym etiquette.
Nobody cares if you are a newbie. Gym rats like myself care that you spend some time getting comfortable with the gym and are respectful of others. That means don’t spend 20 min sitting on a bike without peddling because you are texting someone. Don’t ‘reserve’ a treadmill by putting towels on it and then go stretch for 30 min.
I’ve been working out for over 18 years, when it’s crowded, I get gym anxiety…I walk out. Great video!
I been to the same gym for 4 years more or less, I got a steady routine, and I lift heavy sometimes… And I still got a gym anxiety.
just did my first gym day today… going tomorrow… watched a few of your videos and def gets me excited to go back!
bro i fainted at my 1st day after doing a 20 minute cardio ahaaahahahah, but im still here grinding
I don’t have regular gym anxiety.. but CLIMBING gym anxiety is next level. It feels like literally everyone is watching you climb! I have climbing goals but ugh I hate going alone.
what are you saying in this video is completely useless, who cares how you felt in day one, we just need to know what type of exercises we should follow and how we can do them!
I started going to our gym at 230 am.. noone is there. Gives me time to focus on learning. Still not comfortable enough to go in with other people. But i wll get there. Praise the lord for 24hr gyms
It’s really motivating that you guys say doing 5 reps of 110 was really hard when you started. I workout at home and can only get my bar up to 80lbs and I have no bench, just using the concrete garage floor. Need to get a gym membership
The gym I went to had a newbie area. The dumbells only go up to 45. I started there. Now I go to another one that’s just one giant room. The newbie area kinda helped.
The gym can be a toxic environment, and intimidation there can be a real thing. Your instincts will tell you to stare down people who stare at you aggressively and put them in their place. At least that was the case with me for a long time.
I find, however, that It is best to keep your head down and focus on your goal. You can’t feel bad about ignoring people who project toxic energy while trying to drain you of your positivity. Especially when those people are complete strangers
I’m 6’7 330 lbs 18% body fat. People look at me like they’re scared of me but I’m always friendly and offer workout advice. Just don’t fuck with me if you see me in my zone.
I’d like to see a good beginner routine, so I can compare to mine that I will be doing soon. I did a lot of research on routines that are effective for weight loss and muscle building. But, I’m still a little unsure. Great vids guys!
Most people at the gym are gonna check themselves out before they even think about checking someone else out.
I know what I look like isn’t important but damn, I smash PRs every time I wear makeup to the gym lol
As an absolute noob, I don’t even know what ‘spotting’ is…
Tomorrow’s my first day to the gym and honestly I’m quite anxious.. I’ve been depressed and suffering from anxiety for a long time, and I’m tired of being in this hellhole. I want to reclaim my life and I want to start by working on my body.. but honestly I’m just so.. SO scared.. I watched your video and it gives me a much needed courage.. thanks!
I’m new here and I use wanna thank you so much for all the great advices
It`d have been much better if I found this “Yamzoko Weebly” (Google it), I would have get rid of that 14 pounds years back. Learn about. Search it via Google. I did not alter my diet regime whatsoever or work out. It definitely curbs your desire for foods yet doesn’t make one feel worked up..
There is what is called the imaginary audience in psychology, it means we think people are watching us when they really aren’t. Everyone is just mostly concerned about themselves. Why do you need constant validation and coaxing from strangers? Take charge of yourself and stop expecting society to be like a giant daycare center.
If a playlist is a better choice than a partner for y’all, I gotta suggest some New York Hardcore. Been on that shit all month.
When I see a beginner at my gym it makes me furious, how dare they
Big guys in the gym don’t intimidate me.. They’re probably not even thinking about me (God Forbid) and are probably just feeling the same emotions as the rest of us. But if they are trying to intimidate or bully others by glaring at new comers who are less developed then it just shows that they’re the pussys for trying to make them selves feel like big powerful men when in fact they are the people who have the problem to start with. Those fools should be ignored.. By the way most of them are shorter than me.. Me being 6 ft 2 like Arny.. So just wait and see:D
I just do machine weights upper body one day lower body the next 20 minutes treadmill then weights then 10 more after weights on treaemill
I’m overweight and have been self conscious about working out in the gym in front of others especially when I have to do modifications due to injuries. I just recently stopped giving a F*^k if anyone looks at me. I am doing my best in there and anyone in there can kiss my fine as I’m building up.
Best start off in a community gym before moving on to a more meathead one
Well done, glad to see people getting something done about weight and stuff, not in a rude way btw, a positive way that it’s good your doing this
Best way to deal with insecurity at the gym is to drink a good pre workout, it’ll help you focus on what you’re doing and not give a FUCK about anyone else. Go with something like Rave by ANS or Rich Piana’s 5% Kill It….I guess I just did some free advertising xD
Thank you so much for posting this. I’ve watched a bunch of videos on gym equipment because I’m so intimidated by going to a gym and not knowing anything. I finally found the courage to sign up this week and am going in a few days when I don’t have to go to work and school.
I’m so proud of you. Keep going, never stop, and never look behind!
I’ve been lifting 4-6 times a week for 9 months now in my apartment’s small gym and 99.9% of the time I was the ONLY person there. I love my little gym but it’s really limited so my family got me a 1 year gym membership and I was SUPER excited. but despite having a solid routine full of exercises I am very comfortable with..the first two times I went I was unexpectedly so SO nervous yesterday I pushed myself to do leg day and I felt more comfortable, and I think that my in-depth stretching routine that I do before legs helped me relax maybe that will help some people too! just find a spot to warm up and get in tune with your body before starting your workout. but ya man I was not expecting to get gymtimidation, but I am excited to be at a big gym with lots of equipment and the opportunity to make some gym friends so I’m gonna try and keep your tips in mind!
I’m on like my month mark and I’m stuck at 171.8 lbs and I’m trying to get down to 150 I mean I’m still proud that I lost like 11 lbs but still dissapointing that I’m stuck at this weight rn for like a week
I’m japanese so I dont understand what meg says, but I lost my muscles by anorexia…
AM actually overweight but my body says don’t lose weight anymore and move more,
So i decided go to gym!
This video motivated me well thank you meg
My best friend just asked me to get a membership with her so we can go together and I’m absolutely terrified. I literally can’t wear shorts and a shirt because I’m so self conscious. I literally only wear sweatpants and hoodies 24/7. I know that no one will be judging me but that doesn’t stop me thinking about it and I literally hate it
you guys are hilarious. this is the first vid im commenting on after watching like 50 videos in a span of 2 weeks. good to see that there are youtubers that know what they’re talking about and make it enjoyable. love the catchphrases!!
I just signed up for a gym membership yesterday and I don’t know where to start
I’m actually terrified of going to a gym and looking like an idiot, but you’re so chill and confident that my fears have been eased. Thanks, dude. ☺
Man this video was so helpful! I just turned 19 and I’m currently 240 lbs. 2 months ago I was 260lbs but I’ve just been watching what I’ve eaten. I think I’m gonna get a membership at the ymca gym. My biggest question is what is your routine. There’s lots of videos out there of beginner workout routines but there by guys that are shredded and have gone to they gym since they were teenagers. I NEED an honest answer from a person that’s going through the same thing as me.
LIKED & SUBSCRIBED
You’re a beautiful woman, with s great body and soul, pretty as hell too
I am 228-230 LBS 5″7.5 and I feel anxious again because I haven’t been going for a while so I tend to compare myself to others. Thanks for giving me some hope man!
My gym anxiety started very early, I started getting kicked out of phys-ed classes at 10 years old for not being skilled enough. Now at 34, I’m still trying to manage my gym anxiety by doing the majority of traditional workouts at home, running on trails and the occasional BJJ class.
2020 and I’m just starting. This isn’t my resolution. This is me killing the old me.
Excellent video bud, Are you persisting with your exercise in 2019?
i was skinny af when i started but i have never felt intimidated in the gym. i think if you got confidence issues it doesn’t matter where you go you’ll always feel intimidated.
I was terrified when I started strength training. I signed up for a group class, went the first time, and found some parts of the workout (Abs!!!) nearly impossible. So of course, decided that I could not possibly go back until I was in better shape. Sound familiar? It took me almost two months to get back to that class, but thanks to a kind and sensitive trainer, and my own freaky competitiveness, I will be coming up on a year of training in March at 66. My body has completely changed, and I feel mostly powerful and healthy. I love checking in with you regularly. My coach is 210# 6’2″ ex-football, and your female perspective makes me feel normal. Thank you for your strong, strong friendship.
I’ve become quite chubby and obese over the last couple of years though too much good food beer and laziness. It’s great to see a chubby guy ( like me no offence) upload one of these. I’ve been debating joining a gym for a few weeks now but it does feel quite daunting as I’ve not got a clue where to start lol
Very interesting.I’ve been thinking about joining a gym but I didn’t want to before because I don’t want to pay to temporarily use someone else’s equipment. Make sure you put in some rest days for all the muscles.
I get so intimidated that I forget what I’m doing too!!!
I also wander around lost
2 years later, I know. But you’re so positive! It’s infectious! I’ve been working out by myself at home for a few months now and I’m slowly working up the courage to use the gym that’s at my community college. They’re nice enough to give the students a free gym, I should use it! Thanks for the great video. I’m feeling really psyched up about it now!
You don’t get any muscle mass in only one week by the way. Like mybe 0.0001grams
Im a pretty tiny dude with some serious Gym anxiety. im having my induction tomorrow and im shitting a brick! this video has definitely calmed some of my nerves
Hey man, hows the weight loss going? Super motivating video btw! Just checking up to see if you kept it all up.
Hey man you prolly not him read this but like tryna do the same thing✌️
Good information, thanks. I haven’t been to the gym in a long time and do get anxious when trying to go back again. Haha, i thought it was just me.
Don’t fucking talk to me in the gym. I’ll bolt out of there like lightning, cause I need to pretend I’m the only one there.
Good work man! Keep on that grind and accomplish your goals.
Thank you so much, you’re channel is so fucking appreciated.
When ever a dude stares at me at the gym I walk up to him and ask if I was with his sister because he looks mad as fudge.
these (BRO’S) at my gym have better bodies than I do but they are fucking midgets compared to me and I’m only 6ft tall (185 lbs). In do time I’ll look better and shit on them all.
Man, this is so inspiring. I’ve been having anxiety attacks all day about going to the gym today for the first time in forever (got the membership over a year ago and went once for 30 minutes and freaked out). And this is so motivating. You seem like a really awesome guy and like you’d also be super fun to work out with.
Thanks for this:)
I see 18 people must work out at planet fitness and eat dinner there on pizza night
Love your channel, you’ve inspired me in many ways. I am looking forward to a new lifting video.
I joined the gym today, not really overwieght but i would like to tone up some muscles, my trainer pushed me to what i thought were my limits surprisingly i was able to get a full body work out done and left feeling great
go early in the morning or late at night when it’s less packed and it’s a more serious crowd
PEople should scrap it out. I ask people what they want and the next step is outside in the parking lot.
Totally agree! NO ONE is watching you. Also, for me, viewing the gym as the fun thing I get to do and doing the things I enjoy there instead of viewing it as the gruelling thing I have to do really helps me feel confident when I’m there. This mindset also helps me push myself/ have a really great workout.
Inside gyms people are usually focused more on themselves than anything else. The intimidation is literally 95% in your head. And even then gyms are full of supportive people if you go up and make conversation with them. Although gyms arent perfect so there might be that one asshole
I’m glad you did this video because a lot of my friends are affected by this.
The best way to overcome intimidation is to realise that no one, literally no one gives a flying fuck about what you’re doing because they just wanna get their shit done and go home.
Dude you should try intermittent fasting. Or water fast for a few days. It will be very beneficial.. keep up the good work
I’ve been in the gym for 10+years, I’m semi athletic, but I got a wave of anxiety when I tried to use a new machine and straight up had read the figurine demo picture next to it 8x cause I was so confused on how it worked. I ended up laughing at myself and asked another girl if she ever used the machineshe smiled and said she didn’t know either but was interested to learn so we figured it out together!
Best thing to keep in mind no matter where you go (yes, even Planet Fitness) is to remember one main thing. It doesn’t matter what other people are doing so long as you’re not interfering with their workout (hogging machines, plates, weights, etc.), it only matters what YOU’RE doing. Even if it’s a bunch of meat heads in there, they’re in there for the same reason you are. Give it your all to the best of your ability, ask for help if you need it, and go home.
Yesterday was my first day at the gym. I used the treadmil for 20 minutes had a panic attack and had my girlfriend drop me off home. We went today for day 2. Were there almost an hour. I walked for 30 mins straight. More than I’ve done in 6 years. Used a few machines and left. Keep up the good work. God bless
Yeah they are right fuck what everyone else is doing no matter how bigger, stronger, or how much ass they get.
Just worry about yourself work hard and make gains.
Simple.
even tho im terrified still, this inspired me alot. hopefully i can get myself to go next week
I stopped a gym Bully from picking on this small guy a few months back and now the bully has it in for me. I get nasty looks from him now and I hate it.
I have to join a gym because of my back. I switched jobs and now I sit all day… and I’m getting older. I’m loosing muscle mass.
Thanks for the video. I’ve been terrified of going to the gym for a long time now. Because of you, I’ve just purchased a membership and will start this week! Appreciate the encouragement. <3
Your awesome dude. Definitely deserved my like and subscribe (hint: that ain’t easy to get)
Im extremely impreesed with your form bro. Hope you are keeping it up!
like anyone who’s serious about thier workout gives a rats ass about what you look like. people care way to much about what others think of them.
It’s funny, at the start you’re scared to go there because you don’t want to show youre body, but later on you want people to look at you.
i’ve been thinking about going to the gym for about 4 months but especially in the past 2 weeks. i am in the first obesety category and that makes me very concerned because diabetes is very common in my family.. i only started really caring about it last year when i turned 18 and started going swimming as often as possible but due to some lady problems i’m not comfortable swimming all the time and i lost motivation for it.
you gave me some motivation back and i have to say thank you for that.
good lock on your journey
I went to the gym today for the first time after working out at home and thinking about it for months.. I am pretty overweight for my age and i was always so scared to go bc of other ppl jugding me but i LOVED IT..as soon as i came the owner/trainer was do kind to show me around and give me a begginer workout while explaining how to use certain machines and the ppl at the gym were minding their own workouts and didn’t really care about what am i doing which suprised me if you are still debating on should you go or not remember this: those who want it will always find a way and those who don’t want it always find an exuse!!!
if you are a beginner reading this, know that your fears are COMPLETELY unfounded and exist entirely in your head…. no one cares what you do or how you look, the most you’ll ever get is someone trying to HELP YOU by telling you something….
gym is probably the least judgemental place we have left in our society…. more so than a library or a brothel
i have an orientation for a gym program tomorrow and came to watch videos to overcome some nerves, you’ve helped me get past some anxiety and i love your video!
