Here’s a quick 15 min HIIT workout that’ll keep you fitter and may even heal your hurts. 1. Warm-up with a couple laps of light swimming. 2. Freestyle swim for 30 seconds (high intensity) 3. Light swim or walk in water for 1 minute. 4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 nine more times.
Walking, swimming or recumbent cycling are generally safe for those with low back pain and this will help you maintain cardiovascular fitness as you recover. Thank you so much!!! I’ve just got into rowing for my school and then 2 days later I dislocated my kneecap! I want to stay fit until the season starts when I can train again so this really helps! Thanks again xox
X-Training… Riding bikes and yesterday I even tried running in the pool after my treadmill run… did a few laps… the best part was that I got to swim with two of my daughters too! So blessed to get to spend time with them!
Wrong, if you don’t exercise with some kind of resistance you will lose muscle.
Enough studies on this subject
Awesome video, you’ve got a good philosophy on training and nutrition.

Are you a pro runner or do you have a job. I really enjoy your videos and I wish you a speedy recovery.
The only source for news letter for ruuning Twitter and it’s lnclude little news
This is my second time having a hurt foot and I am so grateful for these videos. I actually looked forward to them this time after scheduled foot surgery because I knew my core and arms were going to get much needed attention! I travel a lot for work and these chair and floor routines work so well in a hotel room. I like this particular video a lot. It’s in my top 3. I often watch without sound while listening to a podcast but when I listen I get a lot from Caroline’s positive energy and affirmations. LOVE the whole series of hurt foot workouts!!! THANK YOU!!
Recovering from my 3rd foot surgery in 4 years. I’m aware that there is only so much my doc & physical therapist can do for me. I’m going to try your recommendations to see which ones work for me & hopefully incorporate them in my daily routine (like I’ve done w/ the information u put out in your other videos). Thank u so much for your great advice!
Leg extensions is my favorite strengh training option. It improved my running and fixed my knee problems.
Hello I love all you videos for hurt feet. I am suffering from plantar fasciitis for the 4 th time and this is really helping me physically and mentally. Thank you!
Its great to see you keep up your enthusiasm during these cross-training days. Be careful, you might turn yourself into a multi-sport athlete!
Hey Seth I am a junior in high school and looking at colleges. I was just in Colorado looking at CU and CSU and love both programs but really love boulder. I run a 4:19 full mile as a junior. Do u think I would make it on the team. I am running 4 1600’s in a row for the next month and hope to get it down to 4:12 but my senior year I am trying for 4:06.
These are great! I’m just discovering these having broken me toe and they’re awesome! Thank you!
Thanks Caroline another great video! I had foot surgery and was looking for ways to still get some exercise and I found your videos! Truly appreciate them!
Am Sooooo eccited for you that you can take the next step in your healing process. Sending Love N Light on your journey!!
I love it!! The blessed soul with the free MRI!! Hope you get it!!
You come across as almost wanting to have a stress fracture. Almost willing it to develop into a stress fracture. It is so strange to watch. October 2018 I thought I had one and over a two week period to find out I didn’t have one was a real relief.
For that six week, how did you do your cardio??? please I really need some ideas >_< thankyou so much..
To make the aqua jogging worthwhile do 1 min on 20 seconds off, you need very short rest to make aqua jogging worth it
What is your skincare on a normal day? I would looooooove a video dedicated to everything from cleanser, treatments, masks, moisturizers and sunscreen for the face! <3
Great suggestions and I would add… be sure to get enough sleep! Sleep time = body healing time.
I am 7 weeks in from having a fractured tibia and fibula from a ski injury. I have been doing your exercises for the last few weeks which feel really good as I am still non weight bearing. Thank you
THANK YOU! This kicked my butt. My foot is hurting when I run and I needed something that was going to get my heart rate up! Thanks so much.
Nice job staying in shape while injured! I know too many people who give up after an injury
I broke my foot on Monday, first thing i did was Google broken foot workout because i exercise daily and was so worried about how i would be able to do that! Thank you so much for making these videos to keep me on track for the next couple months!!!
This is a CHALLENGE! But so awesome. Love all your videos and your positivity. Thanks again!!!
I have suspected torn ligaments and tendons in my ankle I refused a scan as hospital is not the best place to visit during lockdown. I was told to rest but 3 1/2 weeks in I am so fed up at not being able to walk very far let alone exercise. So I googled how to workout with an ankle injury and your video came up it’s an absolute godsend there are parts that I am unable to do but on the whole it is actually better than standing and weight bearing day to day. I have done them everyday for four days and I feel invigorated as I gain strength back in my muscles (because boy it doesn’t take long to lose it)… I plan to do it twice a day… it really has spurred me on thank you so much Caroline
That’s not even “crippled”. I broke my ankle so bad by the time I can do these exercises I will not be crippled anymore. It’s when you’re recovering from surgery/ non weight bearing that you’re actually crippled.
I get my running news from social media. The Fast Women newsletter and twitter account is a good one.
Have you tried walking around barefoot to stretch your Pf. I’ve heard it helps. Too much support can make your feet weak
Thank you Caroline for this fun workout and your inspirational quotes are brilliant. “the only disability is a bad attitude”!
I’ve had bunion surgery on both my feet, I’m non weight bearing for months. I really enjoy your work outs! Thank you for putting them on YouTube so anyone can access them. Do you have a video that focuses on butt and legs for foot and ankle injuries?
how do you stand up with a metatarsal damage! you are brave.
I recently got a bimalleolar and metatarsal damage and I am in a plaster cast, not allowed to be walking for more than a month, not that I can also
I’m here in 2020 with a broken foot. I remembered you had this video, and decided I wanted to watch it since I am now in a boot, and wanted to watch your workout lol
So weird to hear you order coconut milk instead of a dash of almond
Hey there Seth! Love your video! I have a question, how do you convert cycling effort to running effort? Say if my running plan calls for a 6 mile tempo run, how much biking should I be aiming for? Speedy recovery!
I’ve got a minor ankle injury but it’s enough to mean I can’t do most normal exercises these videos have been a great find to keep me from turning into a complete slob while recovering thanks!
Absolutely fabulous video!! You were so encouraging and it was exactly what I needed. I broke my 5th metatarsal nearly 4 weeks ago and have been struggling to keep up my exercising. My mood has suffered as a result!! However I just did your video for the first time and I LOVED it, LOVED doing something and feel soooo much better! I plan to work up to your other videos as I get stronger. Thank you so much for doing a video for us injured birds!!!!
I broke my ankle in two spots and am non weight bearing, I’ve been going crazy! This video has helped me feel the best I’ve felt in two months!
Thank you for sharing!! I have been nursing a hurt ankle for almost a year. I just wish I had ran across your channel sooner. You are amazing!!
I broke my toe almost three weeks ago and I have not workout since. This workout will definitely help me get back into it. Thank you!
Orite, I’m gona do an experiment. Whether these workout can help lose weight cus my foot is practically useless now. Both feet. I hope this can help me get thin as I dont have any other options.
LOVE all your hurt foot workouts!! Thank you!!! Also, could you do an upper body dumbbell workout for hurt foot?
Hi James. Running related news: Canadian Running Magazine and their website, Distances+ magazine website (for trail-in French), Sage Canaday’s channel, Mountain Outpost channel (Jamil Coury), Runners World (but less and less) and of course, a certain daily vlog that comes up at every breakfast…
This might be a silly question but I wouldn’t mind getting more insight about what exercise you exactly do when you aqua-jog. Do you stay at the same place or do you “run” the full length or width of the pool? Do you have any tips for people who would not have tried this a lot?
thank you so much! i broke my ankle and this is helping me feel better about myself!
Thank you! That felt so good + really feel all the muscles working hard! Your workouts always feel amazing and so rewarding + for staying positive + strong in body + mind:)
There was a site, search beginner dumbell workout. It doesn’t have a lot of ads, very basic. Has good dumbell workout. 200-300 watts is pretty good and the quads shouldn’t feel too stiff after. If it’s just for spinning let the heart rate guide you
II recommended purchasing a Peloton bike before, which is a expensive option for most people. Instead, I recommend purchasing the Mobile App for $19.99 a month (believe the first month is free), which gives you access to all the classes. Classes include Cycling, Walking, Running, Strength for Runners, and Stretching. This purchase will be worth your sanity as you will have an elite coach instructing you through every workout. It’s amazing and saved my running career when I was hurt.
Starting to look at cross training myself. I am learning right along with you. Gotta stay positive. “You Will Do This”.
I’m not really a YouTube comments person, but Caroline I have to say a big THANK YOU for your footless workout videos. I broke my foot in a motorcycle accident about 5 weeks ago and one of the biggest concerns I had about healing was how to stay active and not “blow up” in weight or from frustration. Your positive and practical workout videos have been a God-send to me. Thank you!
QD: Mostly through the accounts of athletes, running/shoe fans and running magazines on Instagram.
For running news, you can’t beat Mountain Outhouse with Jamil Coury
Wow!! Here you had 100k and in the past few days you’ve gained 6k so amazing! Congrats. Made your vegan hot chocolate today and it was SO GOOD. As well I bought lots of nuts, dried fruit and coconut chips for my own fruit and nut mix:D <3
I’ve fractured my 5th metatarsal and it reeeaaally hurts, they gave me a whole leg cast up to my knee! Like wtf!
use a float board and practice your kick especially on the weak foot.. this helps ankles too.. tip of the day
I follow NN running, Abbott World Marathon Majors and IAAF on twitter and a few on Facebook for news
I am so glad I found you since I had surgery done on both feet last week. One foot 3rd surgery from doctor mistakes with my bunions and rt foot first surgery. These are easy on the feet and you are so inspiring and fun to work out with. Thanks to for the reminder of being safe and not over doing it. Never got that from my personal trainer and day 6 my legs were done after basically only leg workouts!!!!
Day 2 of watching this playlist. I didn’t think I was going to make it after those swimmers but I’m glad I continued pushing on since it ended shortly afterwards. I cannot thank you enough for this series!
My favorite running news sources are FloTrack and Runnersworld!
Broke my toe WHILE working out…your video is a life saver!! ❤
This video would have been great if she actually stuck to the title. All of 2 minutes workout the rest a bunch of filler and chit chat
Thank you for your story. I had my first injury in Nov 2009, broken ankle w surgery. It’s easy to get frustrated when not focusing on the positive. I’m happy to hear how you transitioned to getting back to running. I’m at the strength training phase, strengthening before I go under for another surgery of hardware removal from the ankle. I do lots of mat work to stretch, spin, walking on the treadmill and low impact HIIT. It truly is a mind game. Stay happy and can’t wait for your next live conversation!
Are there any of these supplements etc. that you would not use together?
For biking, the W/kg value is important. Basically, if you get 3 aerobically (continuous 1 hour effort) you’re pretty good and I would guess you would be close to that value (for inside biking I tend to work to 2,5 for 1 hour efforts, dabbling around 2,3 for easier rides when starting from scratch). For someone who wants to bike competitively he would have to reach 4+, pro’s go +5 and even +6.
Great video! Exactly what I was after with a hurt foot. Thanks:)
I fell and hurt my knee so i am going to try to do some of these workouts. Thanks Sezzy xxx
Back here in 2020 because I got into an AWFUL longboarding accident (fellow boarders, make sure you know how steep the hill is before trying it) and my knee is definitely not okay and I have second degree rash burn on most of my body. It’s absolutely awful not being able to do anything or workout. It really shows you how much you value your body when you don’t know when you’ll be able to workout again.
Had no idea you had PCOS!!! Just goes to show how fit you can be and you don’t have to be overweight with PCOS xx
Just found your video and I am so happy! I have a stress fracture from running and since we are in quarantine I really need to do some workouts to keep me going. This video was great!! Thank you!!
Thank you for this! Broke my foot and missing the gym, and this is a great fill in.
These hurt foot workouts have been a lifesaver. I broke my toe while on quarantine and while the injury itself is painful, I was more upset that I wouldn’t be able to get outside for walks and runs which have been keeping me sane. Thank you for a little exercise while I recover from my injury!
Thank you so much!! This really helped me! and you are so positive, it’s the best!!
Haha. I have the same deodorant as you, from sprouts or the health food store. Love you!
I broke my foot last tuesday in the middle of my training for summer. Thanks for the tips and exercises. I’ll start today!!
I have a torn ligament when can begin your videos? I’m 2 weeks into healing it feel like it’s been 2 months for this once daily yogi. I feel like I’m never going to be normal person again.
I managed to break my knee (and sprain my wrist) whilst on holiday and I’m feeling ridiculously bored of resting and can feel my fitness drastically reducing. Can you recommend any full body exercises without bending knees and with minimal impacts on the wrist?
I love your Chanel I have been watching you for weeks non stop aha your so inspirational and motivating!!
i literally watch you all day, its crazy like literally love you lol!! xxx
Broke my foot about 2 weeks ago and have been dying not being able to workout!! Just found this video and love it. Thank you!!
Thank you so much, this video is great! I have 6 more weeks in my CAM boot and I will definitely be doing this video again!
One day I will run again and I will be a much better and fitter runner thanks to Caroline and her hurt foot workouts!
Lol me foot is broken at the moment and i still run around and play football and my leg is sooo thin
i had surgery to remove a extra bone in my foot a few days ago. i’m a very active kid. i’m used to doing gymnastics almost 20 hours a week, this was very helpful
On November 2, 2019, I tore my inner gastrocnemius muscle in my right leg. I was devastated. I thought that was the end of my fitness journey that I had started earlier in the year. The next day, I googled “exercise for leg injury” in the hopes of finding SOMETHING I could still do and happened to find you. It was the best google search I have ever done. I don’t know what I would have done if I hadn’t have found you and your hurt foot videos. I went through physical therapy while simultaneously using your videos, and this week (3 months later) I have now been able to go back to high impact and doing workouts I was doing before the injury. But because of you, I have come back even stronger than I was before, and lost an extra 10 pounds during those 3 months (I’ve now lost a total of nearly 50lbs since March 2019). Even though I am now ‘healed’, I am going to continue doing your other workouts. I especially love your ab workouts! They are so amazing and so effective! I am right now in the best shape of my life at age 54. I would have never wished for a lower leg injury, but because of it, I have found you and your videos, and for that I am grateful. Thank you, Caroline, for all that you do.. When you are injured you almost feel like you’re the only one and that no one understands, but you really do, because you’ve gone through it yourself. You are inspiring, and I really enjoyed watching this video and hearing about your injury recovery journey. Please keep making new videos forever! ❤️❤️
I’m naturally slim and I put weight on and muscle by training now I have an injury for a couple of months on my lower L4-L5 I have lost weight and all the muscle I tryed hard to gain what do you recommend in my case I hate looking skinny after reaching a level i was confident in.
thank you caroline. my broken foot has come a long way and i have mostly returned to regular activity but i still come back to you on the days when it’s just not having it and its so helpful
I just started recovering from a broken foot and am so happy I found your channel!! Thank you for this!
on the bike I would recommend putting your saddle up a little, it will make your pedal stroke more consistent
Felix Harder this is my very first time watching your video and I can’t wait to see it. What are things you can do to get a six pack and some muscle on your arms without machines? Also when I’m running i loose stamina quickly what are ways to help you with that? Another thing I’m skinny and the reason I want to exercise is because it kinda fun.
Amazing video thank you. I have a broken foot so this is helping
I totally stretched my way out of PF. It limited my running for about 2 months before I got desperate since I had the masters indoor nationals coming up, entry and hotel paid for. Found a source that said to hold a calf stretch for 2 minutes, not the typical 30 seconds. Amazingly, within a week, my PF was gone. I also did aggressively keep rolling my foot and used the stick on my calf.
Hey seth, if you switch your stretching to be after your workout it will be more effective and you will feel the difference. And don’t worry by doing strength training you won’t get huge to fast, it takes time to get big. But it will help you to keep your muscle strong. In my opinion. Hope you get well soon.
Hello Seth in relation to the bike you should try to stay between 90 to 110 cadence(RPM) basically go as high as you feel efficient and about power(watts) its the best if you know you FTP which is your one hour power and then just use this number to build sessions for example 70 present for hour and a half is a good tempo day or intervals such as 2 minutes 120 present of FTP 8 minutes 100 present FTP
I hope this is helpfull for you good luck you are the best!!!
Caroline you are getting me through my injury of three fractured metatarsal‘s and I feel stronger and better every day so glad I found you!
I share you often with friends thanks for your cheerful attitude you’re such a blessing!
I had to watch this video because I get surgery tomorrow on my knee and I know that I won’t be able to just sit out and do nothing
Hey, for the cycling, 80-100 rpm is an ideal cadence, if lower you are adding a lot of stress through the knees and joints, so spinning is better, in my opinion. You’re doing awesome Seth, keep up the PMA. Marc
I’m very happy to see your video here. I also love fitness, healthy diet, and beauty. I hope to make friends with you and learn together. I have a shop that does similar products, if you are interested, you can contact me reamice1@ gmail.com
haha you are very beautiful.
I have this hip flexor strain and It hurts to do simple exercises, I don’t want my efforts so far to go to waste but at the same time I don’t want the hip flexors strain to get more severe cause of working out and never really properly recovering, I don’t know what to do, help!!
Your hurt videos have helped me recover so much! I am on week 8 of recovering from broken ankles; 2 plates and screws on my right foot and I feel sooo much better…Thank you!
I think Tallia might be my spirit animal lol I love your sister!
I have just sprained my ankle and am a very active person I found this so useful. Thank you
Pilates Seth. Have been going to a class and it is fabulous.
Caroline, Thank you so much for your fun, uplifting, workouts. My daughter severely sprained her ankle over a month ago. I found your videos looking for something she could do to keep her strength up, along with her outlook. We found your videos and they are awesome. I’m doing them along with her and it has been so much fun, your comments make us laugh, while the exercises make us want to cry. A perfect combo! Way to go!!!
Thank you! You’re making all the difference for me during this challenging 6-8 wks in a walking boot. I appreciate you making your expertise and encouragement available.
Love your video! The workout is great for keeping up my fitness even with a hurt ancle! Thanks a lot:)
Thanks so much did this after your part 1 video. Has really lifted my mood and feel like I’ve done a really good workout was really difficult actually so good with my broken toe. Thank you again xxx
Dont go for FTP on that bikes. Unless you have a road bike/tt bike, wattbike or sth in that department, watts say nothing.
They fluctuation of how it is measured, the build up on that bikes (prime example are spinning lessons bikes, the build up on the spinning wheels make it different to what you actually can apply ftp to).
So my suggestion would be to orientate workouts on your HR and how you fell.
Omg! My mom is a tennis finactic and hurt her ankle she is going crazy not being able to play tennis! Sending her this video:)
I have a permanent disability that limits what I can do on my feet! All of your hurt foot workouts have helped me feel like me again! Thank you for always being positive and helping me get back to feeling healthy!
Turned my ankle while hiking and kept re injuring it bc I didn’t give it enough time to heal. During COVID, walking / hiking was my saving grace. I have never liked virtual workouts from home… until now. Thank you not only for the great routines, but also for the positive attitude. Healing strong.
I get news and info from runners world, your channel, iruntexas, and a few others about wearables like rizknowz and of course google search engine lol. Was trying to get into running again a 5k but currently out of commission cause a herniated disk on the lower back that’s pinching a nerve. Lol neuro surgeon said 6 more weeks and PT therapy if does not go away.
bad news: found this because i was searching about my broken foot. good news: i found her channel
Congratulations and thank you for your inspirational story! I had ACL reconstruction in early 2017 and it took me over 2.5 years to be able to do my first run, but it was like 30 seconds at a time. Over the months, I slowly built that up to 2 minutes at at time (knees were not happen with me, progress was slow) and a series of other injuries set me back and running is on hold again. I don’t envision attempting any running again until at least this summer of 2020 (where I’ll be 3.5 yeas post op then), when other injuries heal up and I’ve done the right rehab protocol (this time it’s a foot tendon issue so that takes months). I understand long delays like no other!
Canadian restaurant owners could learn a thing are two from the Aussie’s. Such limited healthy places here. We could really benefit from more healthy restaurants.
Thank you! I broke my femur and most of these exercises are super useful
Caroline Jordan you have saved my life!! I am a keen (English) amateur horse rider who broke her ankle in a fall right at the beginning of the competition season. So not only 6 weeks out of riding but also fear of a complete loss of fitness. I’ve now been doing your videos every day and wow I feel fitter than I dd before I broke my ankle!
Well I can’t even do these exercises especially the legs because the cast that I’m wearing is heavy as hell.
I just started rock climbing a few months ago and loved the progress I could see (I used to hate excersise so it’s a big deal haha) and then I tore my ligaments in my ankle, I was so frustrated and upset that I’d loose progress but this video is perfect for staying in strong and in shape! Thank you so much! I genuinely feel inspired!
Thanks for uploading this video! Check out our channel you’ll be inspired as you see our huge heart for the special needs population!! Psalm 34:19
Currently I’m working out on the carpet but the knee is hurting, do I have to use a mat?
so supportive, so motivational has done me so much good thank you very much, Caroline. Boot off in a few days, but I will continue with the exercises
I broke my back in 3 places soo I can’t rlly do anything without gaining weight
Crickey, that’s a lot of time spent cross training! Good job, Seth. I think I’ve got a stress fracture creeping in so please do keep the info rolling in!
The first part of this workout sure let me know that I had let my core get out of shape while dealing with a broken ankle.
Thanks you for this. I broke a bone in my foot last week while jogging. It was driving me crazy to think I can’t exercise until this heals.
Sweating my ass of! I injured my foot 1 month ago and this exercise feels so good! If something doesn’t feel good I just change it up a bit:D
love your workouts. easy on my injury and I also had a baby three months ago so its helping me bounce back as well!
You’ve got a great outlook. I came to this channel for motivation as I’ve broke my foot too. Have you actually broken your foot? There is no way I could go out anywhere because of the pain. Did you use any painkillers?
Great video thanks
Thank you so much, this has been instrumental to me in my injury
Thank you so much for these workouts! I am a dancer and have recently torn ligaments in my ankle and keeping fit is imperative for when I return to competitions. I will definitely commit to the rest of these workouts throughout my ankle recovery:)
Y’all send her Picts of your flooded yards. I’m Susan from Pickens SC! You’re a sweetheart and a go getter. God bless you and good luck with your own enjoyment of running.
so helpful I broke my arm recently dont know how long I’ll be out so useful
just wondering if anyone counts how many times “anyway” is said…
I feel bad for you that an MRI is not covered by insurance and you have to pay. In Canada an MRI is free.
Two years later and now you’re almost at 1 MILLIONS SUBS! Congrats girl!
Hi Caroline, I’m toby and I’m recovering from a lower back injury I got on active duty in the military. I just found your work out page and really enjoyed your video on sciatica pain relief, I currently live in West Virginia and will soon be working for one of the sheriffs departments where I live. I have taken to your videos to help me recover and hopefully get me back to my full activity, which includes running and other things. Thanks again for your passion to help us all. I believe your knowledge will help me recover and I will share your information with others who need it also
With all my
Respect & admiration

Dear Caroline, my daughter is a gymnast and has a foot injury. She looked up this video and wanted you to know that she found you inspirational during this hard time of being away from training. The workout is challenging and is helping to keep her positive. She also likes how you talk to the viewer, sympathizing and encouraging. Thank you!
Free MRI! Score! #crowdsourcing at its best! Way to be a great example for injured runners, Seth!
Hey! Sesamoid injury here too. It’s been a year. Are you using any special sesamoid support or inserts? I’ve been using the Jill’s dancer pads for a year and I’m truly getting sick of them. Curious to hear if there’s anything else out there I could use.
Seth I get Runners World magazine, and use the internet for al the other information my favorite is Lets run. Run on
Sarah, I’m here because I broke my foot teaching my dance fitness class so I’m looking for some stuff to do in the meantime for the next 6 weeks. Sucks because I’m a dancer but, I’m gonna follow your lead dear.
My podiatrist hammered in the need for stretching for my PF and ankle mobility as well. QD: Closest I get to running news are those channels I follow on YouTube, mostly Ultra and Marathon related.
Running news from Canadian Running Magazine, Sage Canada, Kofuzi, Cjae Media and of course you Seth. You though I look forward to every day.
Thanks you so much for this video! I sprained my ankle badly last week & was getting so frustrated at not being able to work out & finding it hard not to feel down about it. This workout really helped, as did your positive vibes. Thanks:)
Hope you can get that MRI hook up man; confirming that it’s not fractured is a big step (no pun intended) in gaining that confidence to run on it again!
I broke my right ankle in Mid October of 2019. I found your hurt foot videos and they have helped. Still having trouble with flexibility and weight bearing. At the age of sixty do you believe strength training will help with bone density? Thank you for all you videos and advice.
I wish I would have found these videos sooner! this is my second foot injury in 1 year and it’s killing me! I know that keeping a positive mind set will help but sometimes it’s hard! You reminding us to stay positive help a lot!
Well what if you just sprained your pinkie toe and it’s swollen like your thumb and you gotta get it healed in a week so you can tumble for your first gymnastics meet?
You have helped me so much as I struggled over the past 2 years with Baxter’s Nerve Entrapment in my foot. The prognosis of recovery without surgery is so poor for BNE, but I’m here to tell you: these videos, plus cupping, and Hoka One One shoes and I’m able to take my walks again. And just as I turned the corner on my own, I found a really great doctor (not a surgeon, but a “needle guy”) who can do something called hydrodissection of the Baxter’s Nerve with stem cells and he’s had great success with it. But I don’t need it now. (Maybe he scared it away.) Anyway, after two podiatrists and an orthopedic surgeon really fell flat on my diagnosis and my options, I’m just so grateful to have a doctor now who is confident about my diagnosis (get an MRI, lesson learned) and has a novel therapy for it with good results, should I ever need it.
Anyway, your positive videos have been so helpful. You video on how to relieve foot pain was some of the best money I’ve ever spent! I have told you before how grateful I am, but here it is again: you’re the best. Enjoy your re-entry into running, pain free.
PS: I grew up in San Francisco and now live in Bend, Oregon so I also get that part of your message too.
When I tell you we literally broke it the same way and on the same day and same foot is kinda creepy lmao
I was playing hockey two weeks ago and a ball hit my foot! I thought nothing of it at the time but 1 week later I had to do to the hospital as there was a lump on my foot:\ It’s broken… I was on the division 1 competition team as well as the regional team with a competition this weekend! I have to wait 6-8 weeks which means I will miss out on quite a bit with ALL my sports!!!!
These workouts are great I broke my toe and was really frustrated not to be able to cycle or run. Even my usual workouts were depressing as I couldn’t do most of the exercises. Thanks for all your positive comments, they will help to motivate me back into fitness,
Done a few days of your workout it’s helping me so much. I have injured my ankle through working out. Been working out for 6 weeks now have lost 11lbs up to now. So I’m thankful I can still workout with my injury. Love your positive words too thank you.
Definitely been there and while tidying up my workout playlist going through and removing videos I won’t ever watch… came across the collection of videos I added when I was on a broken foot (5th metatarsal) back in May 2017. Sucked. Was just starting to get back in shape and was bumming because most of my go to videos involved putting pressure on feet. Just sitting here watching this one back first to see what she eats. I am always curious to know like you have an adorable body and I feel like and anyone else with a really fit petite figure just have to always have been like this like I would LOVE to have a body like yours but I feel like even if I starved myself I could never ever be this petite. yay smoothies!! I love my bfast smoothies. Totally do satisfy a sweet tooth. I am afraid to start incorporating proteins again though because I am struggling to NOT look bulky and muscly. Everyone says to eat protein and lift but I found no matter what, I almost immediately begin gaining muscle. Even making a consorted effort to avoid working the muscles I accidentally developed in my upper body like they just won’t go away. Your bfast looked awesome but wow! How can you eat so many calories and stay so fit!????? Anyway, hope you’re foot is all better by now!:)
Thank you so much for this video!! I am in a boot for the next four weeks, and, being a ballet dancer, I was desperate to find ways to move. This video is perfect for me!! I was able to do it with my boot on, which added some extra weight and a good challenge. Planning on using this video almost every day:)
Life-saver during the days or Corona…no gym. But Caroline is there. I used this last year when I broke my toe.
OOOOF this was hard for me and i play soccer! i love this routine and your singsongy positivity! tore my achilles tendon and your routines are applicable! thank you so much!
I just had a really bad sprain 4 weeks ago and I am still in recovery. I’ve been going through a tough time not only physically but emotionally as well and this channel gives me so much hope and motivation. So glad to have found you and look forward to your videos. Subscribed.
Wishing you a speedy recovery! I’ve been battling injuries since the new year. I know we’ll be running healthy in no time!
I’ve been following you since I got diagnosed with a sesamoid fracture in 2017. I am STILL struggling to heal and I would love to hire you to help me with a plan to get back into the gym. I was told I was stretching my foot too much (because it hurt all the time) and then I couldn’t walk because my achilles was so tight. Let me know what the next steps are (since you mentioned you work with ppl around the world).
Currently using the same one and wanted to lose weight. So glad I found your video
Is there any reasoning behind fasting and bone regeneration?
With respect to my running news, I follow Youtube, facebook running feeds and I started tapping into scientific research papers for more info as I progress in my running. On the other note, you are doing good cross training. Hope to see you in Cleveland Marathon if that is possible. I started my tapering to Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon. I am looking forward to hear about your progress.
Thx for this hurt foot series of exercise! Recovering from ORIF 5th metatarsal fx and need this
RPMs between 80-100 is good. If you are lower or higher than you may get more of a benefit by changing the gear/resistance. I believe Lance Armstrong’s race cadence was 90 RPMs. Watts is a good measure of the work you are doing on the bike. They are somewhat dependent on your weight. A heavier guy with bigger legs can usually put out more watts than a skinny dude. Cycling ability is measured by a statistic known as watts generated per kg of body weight (watts per kilo) to determine how efficient/strong you are as a cyclist. For instance, a heavier cyclist may put out 20 more watts than a skinny dude, but if he weighs a lot more, then the skinny dude’s watts per kg is probably higher and thus is considered a superior cyclist. Given your relative inexperience and lean build, I would say a rough figure for you to throw out there is 200 watts as a good level. To give you some comparison, I have been cycling on and off for 6 or 7 years. We are probably similar in weight and I can ride all out for an hour at about 340 watts. Easy riding for me is 230 watts. Takes a while to build up to that and I know that isn’t your goal. Just giving you some examples.
Came back to watch this video because I just found out I have a stress fracture in my foot from running:( Wanted to thank you for your positive attitude even when injuredit is very inspiring! Also, I have the exact same boot as you haha
Would rather run a bit slower and have some muscle than run faster but look like a prisoner of war
Thank you for this I dislocated my knee and need to stay in shape
when you’re watching an old vid and Sez doesn’t order a LBWaDoAM:O
I have injured my ankle grade 3. I love these exercises there’s so much positivity and encouragement in your words
you are so amazing! I love your attitude and how you stay so real! you helped me loose 43kgs after having my 2 gorgeous kids keep up the amazing work!! And thank you for having someone so kind, down to earth and funny to watch ❤❤
Do you have any other workouts you could share with a broken foot?
with a sprained ankle and feeling mega depressed, I love this video. Then, I went on your instagram! you have saved my day
It’s so weird watching this old video and seeing how she’s changed
Will this work to lose weight with a hurt foot? I’ll keep update whether it works or not.
Qd: Youtube videos! I watch Total running producitions and you
I have a bimalleolar fracture of the ankle. In addition to many of the ideas you suggested, I also use Christopher’s Complete Tissue and Bone capsules and salve.
Thank you so much for these! I sprained my ankle around one month ago and these videos have helped me stay active and positive during the slow recovery Thank you!
I follow the main athletes, races and federations profiles in Instagram basically
I can totally relate with having fear to get back into certain workouts or running. I have not come as far as you in finding a happy medium with my progress. I had a deabilitating injury in my hip/groin and have gotten to where I don’t have pain daily but I’m horrified of pushing myself. I look forward to following you as I would really like to get inspired and motivate myself to continue my exercises and get stronger. Oh yah and I am really happy for you! It gives me hope.:)
As I’ve got more interested in ultras and trail running, iRunFar has become my main source. And Mountain Outhouse News, of course!
Love your sports bra Sarah where you get it?
😀 just a newbe here getting my way thought your videos your an inspiration blessings X
You give me so much inspiration. I just got my cast off and have a boot but my ankle is so weak. Anyways I can’t go back to my intense workout for a while and I don’t even know if I could cause my abilities are well….. so anyways Pilates is soon gonna be my best friend so thanks for the inspo.
Broke my toe running around my apartment with my partner last night. This workout helped me feel better thankyou xxxx
Now that I found you, I think I can endure these 6 weeks healing a broken foot! I love your workouts and your positive attitude. You are so encouraging, and your sequences BURN in all the right places. Who knew that you could be dripping with sweat without using your feet? I start each day with a video or two, and it just sets me up physically and mentally for a great day. Thank you!!!
I get most of my running news on instagram, which is because it’s very convenient for me since I’m already on it so much.
Hi Caroline! I just started following your videos by recommendation of a friend. I can follow most of them. I have had a week back. And I can’t do the sit up punch at all. My question is do you have any excercise that focus on abdominal strength? I have foot injuries.
i am so happy thaT THIS VIDEO EXISTS!! i just broke a bone in my foot and i legit had an anxiety attack about not going to the gym:( the gym is genuinely my happy place and stress reliever
i tore open my foot and am scared to work out because i don’t want to mess up the stiches
You have insulin resistance!!? Oh my goodness!!! Finally a youtuber who knows what it is!!! how do you deal with it? What do you do to take care of it?
Thanks Caroline! i just hurt my ankles running. I was getting back to running after a break, and I think I went too often too fast. I’ve been doing the workouts while recovering, and it really helps. It’s something to look forward to during these long days inside. Even a little bit every day helps. It’s hard to keep fit during our sheltering in place, so I’m grateful for your support. Thank you!
Thank you for your videos. Your foot injury workout videos have really helped strengthen my torn ankle tendon. Your chair cardio is amazing and I have added it to my work out and switch up with my gym routine.
I had to walk a mile when i got ingured from school and it was a big workout, i am barly recovering and started to work out today
Those stationary bikes are killers aren’t they!? It really helped keep my aerobic fitness up when I needed to be off my foot. I watched many running related youtube videos to help keep me from dying of boredom.
Sarah, is that an Organifi bottle in the background?! I know the guy who makes that! Small world! What did you think of it?
Girl, Jesus is always looking over you, whether circumstances are good or not! His love is here and lavished over you!! Depend on HIM not circumstances because circumstances change and don’t show the full picture of what God is doing. His love is fueling every circumstance though, trust Him:)
So I give my athletes a protocol for crosstraining when injured that usually has them in solid shape once they come back. I write out their mileage that I would be having them run and convert that to minutes (by typical minutes per mile) and multiply that by 1 2/3. Then I have them cycle/swim/pool run for that amount of time per week and usually mix in fartleks 3x a week. It’s a lot of work but it can be done.
I just wanted to thank you for making this video because I too have a broken foot! I have been feeling a little down because of it but this routine has really been helping me stay fit!! Thank you so much ❤️
I just tore ligaments on both sides of my right foot and this will actully help
QD I use the apple news app on my iPhone and iPad. Hit the following button and type in running then hit the heart button to follow. They have a channel and topics related to running, it pulls stories from lots of publications including runners world.
I have a boot now. Fractured my toe. After watching birth vlog I’m looking at other vids. Lol. Love these old ones too.
I am so thankful for these workouts that you have put together for a foot injury. I have been using all of your hurt foot workouts, almost every day, while I am recovering from neuroma surgery, which has resulted in neuropathy. I’m a long distance runner who will have to learn how to use my foot and walk again over the next few weeks, so staying in shape with your videos have been priceless. THANK YOU Caroline!!!!!
Caroline, I found your videos after searching for workouts that you can still do with a foot injury. I used to be in great shape, lean, athletic, and then chronic illness came out of nowhere leading to being mostly bed bound. I fought through it, still have symptoms but are now manageable, got back in shape, got married, had a baby, and I find myself struggling to lose the weight I put on while pregnant, since I had severe hyperemesis, oddly the only thing that helped was keeping food in my stomach (which of course packed on the pounds). Now I’m the mother of a beautiful little girl, no more hyperemesis, but I have more weight on me than I have ever had in my life. A month ago I finally got on the elliptical, only to find out two days later that the pain I was beginning to experience in my left foot was a soft tissue injury, and I can barely put weight on it. I had been so distraught and feeling completely defeated, thinking I’ll never get back to feeling like myself again. I came across your videos, and oh my gosh, not only do you have great workouts to do with a foot injury, but you are so positive and uplifting and I wish I could think of more words to tell you how great your encouragement makes me feel! I want you to know what a huge impact you have, no doubt not only on me, but everyone who has the privilege to watch your videos. Thank you so much for what you do. It means the world and then some. And because I’m a new mom, I’m tearing up because I’m just so grateful there are people like you in this world. Now that I’ve written my comment that is basically a novel I will sign off, thank you so much for what you do. Sending good vibes back to you!
I’m late to the party on this one, but after spraining my angle this has been a great workout that allows for me to move and not stunt my healing ankle.
Strava focus on a runner you want to be like and try out some of their training sessions:)
Who else is watching this in 2019 after Sarah had a kid already??!! I wish I could tell Sezzy like right now in this video that in a few years she would have Kurt and a little Fox (her son)!!!!!!!:)
That’s some hardcore CT. I listen to podcasts, the letsrun.com podcast is good for running news and sometimes funny
I broke my toe 3 days ago. I was going to do one of your chair workouts, and this popped up in YouTube. I really enjoyed this one, my heart rate was up and I used core and leg muscles that haven’t been used in a while. Felt so good! Thank you.
I love how positive and uplifting you are. Thank you for your channel!
Great video!!! Love your style! Also very good comments about staying positive!! It’s hard but super important! Thanks for your encouragement!!
Thank you. You are so inspiring. I’m trying to stay positive as I’ve been in pain for over six months now due to a kickboxing foot injury. Seen so many people and still no diagnosis as to what is wrong. Going to try your workout. Put on nearly 15kg over that time so going to start fresh and healthy even if I can’t do what I used to be able to
Watching this in 2019 and so shook that she went out hahahah
I would love to have a hamstring machine like that at the gym! That posterior chain can get all wonky when you’re a runner and you’ve got a desk job that has you sitting a lot!
I did the EXACT same thing to my foot!!! Couldn’t play soccer for weeks! Brutal!
Oh my god I love this!!! Thankyou for making this!! I tore 5 ligament around my ankle and after 3 weeks of already not being able to walk I got surgery and now I’m in a boot for another 4 weeks… I have already lost muscle and I’m scared I’ll get saggy from not working out. Now I can do some stuff and not get anxious
I’ve been watching all your vlogs so into it haha makes my time at home great:D
I just cant express how grateful i am for this video thank you so very much!! I wud love to pay u,someday!! When i get some gud money. Love u ♥️
Omg thank you so much this help a lot with a broken ankle I feel so much better. Doing this 3 times a week
You’re literally my fav. I’ve been binge watching you for the last week through everything I do. In class on the toilet doing makeup anywhere.
Love this video. So happy I found these series to do while in a cast.
Yep happened to me! I was jumping and landed on my left foot. Not broken, thankfully. Just a really bad sprain!
