I knew in January that the UK should have closed our borders. And every day since then it was even more compelling to close the borders but we did nothing and we still have not closed our borders.
If we had done this earlier. The airline/cruise ship industry would have suffered. but that would have been so much more preferable to the situation now where the whole of the UK leisure industry is going to suffer. The UK government is now having to consider more than £350 Billion of assistance to business. No one can tell me that if we had closed our borders in January we would have been economically worse off.
Countries are imposing lockdowns for 2 – 3 – 8 weeks but it is useless unless they also close the borders. Otherwise re introduction of the virus will continue to happen.
There is a risk of this turning in to mayhem if supply chains fail and food is scarce all our savings in the bank will become worthless as civilisation descends into madness. This is "28days later" in reality.
China is now clearly under reporting the number of deaths there is no way this thing just suddenly stops infecting people.
