This video exactly describes my problem. Is Dr. Richard Berger still practicing? I live in Texas, but I’m willing to travel to get the right person to see me.
10 years ago and it’s still better than some Security cameras that are coming out
This is exactly how my wrist feels. It’s been a few months where the pain emanates from that exact location. But, now my ring and pinky fingers went tingly & numb to that exact location (to include top of the hand). Is this anything you ran into?
I can’t even shoot a basketball properly anymore. I keep missing! I used to make 3’s!
Here am i, soon 16, when my wrist pain kicks in hell it hurts.just because of like the cold air blowing in the car triggered it today. And i looked ma blood pressure or was it heartbeat it was at 103. Ye
I did exactly wht you explained. My pain is gone, you ar a miracle man.thx U soo much.
Hello, Alex. Here is Dr. Berger’s response:
“Thank you for writing. I am sorry you are bothered with wrist pain I realize how debilitating it can be. Would you like to make arrangements for me to examine your wrist? We can help make an appointment for you at your convenience. I hope to meet you in my clinic.”

Had and tried all the norms, rest, ice, heat, therapy, shots…..finally got the doctors to just do the surgery….now I’m perfect…spent a year in pain doing all the other stuff, when I could of just had the surgery in the first place…
I tried this on my right wrist which has no problems at all trying to make sure I was pressing on the area described. Once I was satisfied I tried this on my left wrist and instantaneously inside my head i said, “Sonofabitch this hurts!”
I will now give a call to the Dr’s office and get this wrist looked at for sure! Thank you for this post!
I punched someone and I twisted it and it still hurts I’ve had it for about 6 months someone help
I must have a weak version of this, but for 3 months it still refuses still to go away. I think I might have pulled my lift wrist right in this spot shown in the video. It’s sensitive but nowhere near the 93% sensitivity. It occurred when I was doing chinups with my hands faced out grabbing the lintel cross section across the top of the door post. I feel like I don’t need surgery but nothing seems to cause it to go down. In the morning it is probably most sensitive when I wake up. I’m afraid of the feeling as it is pretty sensitive. I try to stretch it out in the morning before I do anything else. Any suggestions?
I have a rare wrist complication and pain on my pinkside. It was ending basketball career for me. Doctors in Holland couldn’t help me.
Dr Berger, I experienced a work place injury Jan 2012 ago. I’ve been fighting back and forth with the company doc, 2 orthapedic surgeons and no one, but the PT’s who think I have a TFCC tear believe the extreme pain I am experiencing. I’ve lost range of motion, functional use of my RT wrist/arm. I can’t swim…the force from pulling myself through water causes the wrist to swell and turn red. I am having pain in the EXACT spot you were pointing out in your vlog. I need help!
I use canes to walk. Inside of my elbow hurt bad out of nowhere. The inside of my elbow was swollen bruised and hot. It got stuck bent and I could only move it about 5° I still can’t straighten it all the way or bend it all the way. Makes the whole elbow hurt when I try. I do not have Popeye arm but both sides of the bone on the inside of my elbow hurt bad. Tendon strap makes it worse. Idk what’s up with it
I play golf alot and my wrist seems to hurt in that exact same spot, is there a reason?
So when i raise my arm up my wrist hurts a little bit the little pain is like around 2 inches down my wrist I’ll raise my arm and have my hand pulled back and itll hurt when i press on it when i raise it it will hurt more
I immediately pressed that area and pop, my wrist pain disappeared. Really freakin interesting, and also, much appreciated. Thank you
Dr Berger
My wrist pain is severed and my doctor said it is not fracture according to the X-ray. My pain is right above my thumb to the wrist side. I can’t make certain moves because it is inflamed with pain:0(
My doctor says is arthritis. I really doubt it. Please help me figure out how to eliminate the pain
This is exactly what is wrong with my wrist, but doesn’t hurt as much as you described. When pressed it feels like a bad bruise
I’m miserable. It’s been 7 years with this pain now. The last Dr. I saw at Tucson Orthopaedic said I tested positive for 2 out of 3 UT tear symptoms but he didn’t do the Ulna Fovea test that Dr. B does. I just want to get this fixed and get off these pain meds. Can Dr. B help?
I think this may be the problem using a Chainsaw all day. I need your help.
thanks for the video but what do we do once we find that point? I have it on my bad wrist what shall i do now to heal it?
will this type of injury show up on a CT arhtrogram? shceduled for one as OT is making my wrist pain worse and now with swelling and locking up:( can’t find a hand specialist willing to scope and fix this! I live right in MN.
mr. Berger i need your help. I’ve a wrist problem to my right hand. i’ve read Del potro got operated by you. I’m a tennis player and now i can’t play anymore-it’s sad to me. i went to a specialist.. he decided to block my wrist and to wait two weeks to see if i get any improvemements otherwise i will need an operation…but before a operation what do you suggest me to do? i live in italy. merry christmas dr. berger, i hope i get a reply from you
Is it normal for this pain to come on with weight bearing and get better with rest?
Actually wut is the pain is like in the top of the hand form where you can bend it
Have wrist and arm pain and in the hand veins too… When I try to press the place you show it doesn’t hurt I might press it wrong but dont know
I worked out for the first time in a few months the other day and I’ve had this nagging pain whenever I extend my arm or pull it back in. Thank god it’s something that people actually get I was worried about it being something more serious.
Due to medico-legal concerns and the sheer number of questions I receive from these videos, I can no longer answer questions left in the comments. If you have a medical issue and would like more information, go to https://www.drdavidgeier.com/resources/ for other ways I can help you.
my right wrist hurts so bad i have a lump. and can feel “clicking” feeling when i move my fingers progressively. i know when this started, we are planting plants in field. and the tractor has a planter and people on the planter drooping a plant in a hole then you have 3-4 people in bedding the plant to secure it. (hemp) we planted 22,000 plants. i stooped walking from one plant to another and stayed on the ground just moving myself and using my hands to get to one plant to another. we had 74 rows. each row with 250 plants. so each row took about 20-30 min with 3-4 people. but damn my wrist was hurting the first day i started doing that. when we finished my wrist hurt like a bitch. i walked few miles on my hands i believe. my buddy said it is tendinitis.
will this show up on an ARHTROGRAM? I am shceduled to have one becuase OT has made my hand pain unbearable.. with swelling, locking up, unable to bend it up or down at all, snapping( LOUD snaps) and grating feeling. yet I can’t find a good hand specialist willing to scope it. I live in MN…. Also does the mayo clinic deal with complex wrist problems? the two bones in my right arm seem to move independent of each other( like there not even connected) even when I set my hand down it goes POP!
Dear Dr.Berger, thank you very much for everything.I really want to meet you because i feel that you are the right person for me.I read your articles about TFCC problems and i was amazed how familiar they sounded to me.I live in Bulgaria a small country in Europe and i need to get a visa if i want to meet with you.I would really like to know how much it will cost the appointment and the surgery. You can provide answers to my questions on this e-mail: [email protected]. Best regardsIvanov
I have found that a TFCC tear causes a positive foveal test. The difference? All patients with a tfcc tear have a loss of weight bearing tolerancesee tube video. Yet, if the weight bearing is normal and the fovea test is positive, it is clear that the UT is involved.
Its been a couple years since this was posted, is this diagnoses more common now? Im in california but since this is fairly new will all doctors know what to look for? Im trying to see if this is what is affecting my wrist as i have an mri coming up. thnx
I think this is what I am dealing with. I have been feeling pain for a month after bowling. I am seeing hand doctor Tuesday. Should I ask him to look for a UT tear?? I am afraid they will miss it. I want this resolved as I have been in pain for a month.

Is it just me or does anybody else notice his face is really red as if you drank a bunch of alcohol I forget the technical term for it but his body’s inability to process alcohol makes his face red or he’s been out in the sun too long but I’m pretty sure that’s not it
My wrist hurts when my thumb bends to a certain degree or angle.
I pressed on that area and I need a surgery jk all the pain disappeared
I had surgery for this EXACT issue a few months ago, but (long story short) I still have the problem. What I don’t know is if the surgeon was as aware as Dr. Berger here is. I’m considering another surgery. How does one insure that a different surgeon will be as knowledgeable about this particular issue as Dr. Berger?
Thanks for contacting us. Would you please clarify your question so we can forward it along for Dr. Berger’s review? Thanks.
My wrist popped last week shooting a 3 pointer, never happened before. I cannot comfortably shoot a basketball right now, it hurts right where he was pressing. Honestly it sucks.
Your voice reminds me of one of the later managers in The Office.
Dr. Berger, I have exactly the same area of wrist pain. After play tennis for 15 years, I got this pain 2 month ago.
I think this is what is wrong with my wrist. It was injured in a workmans comp injury April 2012. Since then I have had 8 months of PT, 2 Cortisone shots, and surgery to remove my pisiform bone. None of them helped. I have had 2 MRI that stated I have a tear in the UCL ligament. I am still in constant pain. There are many simple activities I can not perform with out extreme pain. All 3 of my doctors are stumped. Please help me!!
I had a sporting injury back in January 2018 and have had x-rays, ct scan which shows full thickening of the tendon? leading to having a Mri. Which confirms that I have a 20mm longitudinal split tear in the ECU tendon, further tear in the ulnar insertional fibres of the dorsal radioulnar ligament partially extending into the central disc and patchy bone bruising in the ulnar styloid and centrally with the distal radius. I have been in hand therapy ever since this injury occurred, we have tried multiple braces and splints. and nothing seems to work. My hand/arm fluctuates from been swollen and extremely painful. my specialist believes my wrist is stable and gave me a Cortisone injection in my wrist, which did not help my pain and causes my diabetes to go out of control for a couple of weeks. she also asked for the hand therapist to put me in a pronation brace, which caused my pain to be unbearable. and have stopped using this as my hand therapist is working on trying to find a more comfortable way of achieving what she requested.
I suffer from the pain you are describing and I know how debilitating it is. I’m seeking for a 2nd opinion and after watching this video I feel like this definitely supports the issues I’m having thank you so so much for sharing this.
I think I may have this type of injury. It really hurts when I press my fovea. But I want to know how many doctors currently know the proper procedure for repair? I can’t exactly afford to travel out of state (I’m in Pennsylnavia.) Even if my orthopedic surgeon can diagnos this, if he can’t perform the repair, I’m S.O.L for lack of a better term.
I have had two surgeries first was a tfcc repair second was pisiform removal with a cyst. Both did nothing.Tried your test for the first time wow that hurt ive had this for two years and that was the most pain there ever. i have had two mri the last one came back negative.will you look at both mri to try to diagnosis this? Thank you very much
Is it normal to have wrist pain for 7 months? I hurt mine 7 months ago the pain has decreased but it still hurts when I put weight on it and upon palpitation. I have had an x-ray and ultrasound. I’m told it is just a sprain and let it rest. The part that hurts is around the scapholunate part of the left wrist. Just wondering what your opinion is. Thanks.
