That is one of the most important videos I have ever watched in my life.
Smacks of real estate gurus on TV in the middle of the night, buy my book and and learn… well nothing. Not impressed, not inspired.
I was really interested until he spoke about universal healthcare. As an American now living in Canada-what he said is both misguided and dangerous and in many ways selfish,not in the least because people have accident related health care needs not only ones that can be improved by food. This made him sound to Canadians like an uninformed huckster.
I keep looking at his videos and I never get to any kind of plan…!
What?? The video just before this by Vishen of Mindvalley just said he’d give his kid milk, it’s healthy, just not including sugary add-ins. Sounds like you guys are confused here.
Yeah, I too am guilty of jumping from weight loss plan to others as well, I think that I must have tried every fat reduction method that was available, but in the end not one of them made it easier for me to shed and maintain the weight off. I ended up trying for the very last time with the Custokebon Secrets simply because my buddy who told me great things about it and so far to date I have successfully lost 15 pounds within 3 weeks!
I wish that show was back on tv. It’s way more realistic than the biggest loser.
It was pretty impressive. Especially the dairy products part. I truly believe that consuming milk was the worst thing I’ve ever done. Now I’ve stopped and result is awesome.

He’s right. He’s saying human should eat human diet. Like elephants eat elephant diet. So basically human should eat what would they eat if they were in the wild: anything edible, variety, whole, organic, diverse food.
I have dieted all my life, and my conclusion is: to eat a little of a lot diverse whole vegs, fruits, animals; the color of the rainbow. and satisfy all 7 tests of: sweet, salt, pungent, sour, bitter, astringent, and umami.

Love your videos! Seriously love your videos! Was considering raw vegan but with hypoglycemia I cant handle a bunch of bananas for breakfast! I go into a major episode and they are always so sure its the best diet but have no answers for me…. I loved the body ecology diet but cant afford all the odd aspects. Also having fibro and cfs I cant cook complicated things (hence the desire for raw food) but I love the balance approach, and I don’t want regular paleo where they insist on a lot of animal products. I feel like your advice can help a lot thanks!

I’ve been eating paleo for several years already but could never consolidate the idea of oil consumption with being ancestral. Oil in any form, is ‘Processed’ and changes the nutrient intake we’d get from the whole food (ie, the coconut, the olive, etc). Should we really be consuming so much fat in the form of oils?

don’t get me wrong as I eat 90% whole plant based. he commented that if your not having a reaction to dairy that your body is turned off and that’s a bad thing as we are not getting the signals well actually it could mean that your body is working well…..just putting it out there lol

Dairy Allergy.. I was that kid!! I was taking pills.. I would walk in to a room and my nose would run… the step out side it would stop.. and Dairy made it worst, and they tell you it is not the case.. I am alleric to dust mites.. but it is almost no existant issue if I don’t have dairy.. Milk is a nasty thing. My gut was bloated.. the gas… and the diarea.. from the allery untill I learned I was allergic.

Milk IS good for you, it is the “wild” human diet for thousands of years. The problem now is that it’s pasteurized so much and the milk doesn’t come for cows with their natural diet. People who have lactose problems later find that after drinking raw milk their lactose problems go away. Raw milk has lactase.

I really appreciate the free masterclass and videos on Youtube. I gathered a lot of good stuffs on them But, If people want to go deeper they need to start a Wildfit program who is WAY TO EXPENSIVE for the average people. No many people that I know have the money the power to spend 700$ in one shoot. You said that it’s a good investement, cheaper than the thousands of $ you will depense a year for supplement and other kind of stuff but, as I said, most of the people don’t have of these money to spend like that, in one shoot. I understand the amount of work behind, the community thing and coaching and maybe it justify the price, I don’t know but you should give all this information about food easier for people. I would love a book about it for exemple! If you really want to change the world dudes, it could be clever.

Thank you for explaining this. My question is what exactly can you eat at night? like does he suggest protein w/ greens? or can you eat some carbs at night? like a sandwich? I buy gluten free turkey and cheese and chiappatta bread? would that be wrong to have at night? I know chiappatta bread has gluten which I try to keep it only as that. I find that I can fast or eat a little during the day bc I get so hungry at night and need a full belly to sleep. That is why I can never stay on a healthy diet bc I get so hungry at night whether I’ve eaten throughout the day or not. Usually I eat my sandwich in the evening by 7:00pm- 7:30pm. Would appreciate any advice you may have?

Around 7-8000 years BC people in Europe started to use cow’s milk to survive. This resulted in spreading a mutation that allowed people to digest dairy. It’s not in the whole world, but there are a lot of people that can safely eat dairy products and drink milk.

Thank you for your review. I got the wild diet and have a general knowledge of paleo and things of that nature. Your review would be ‘exactly’ what I would say about this book. His wife does eat the same foods but fasts less, he said that in his podcast. So I’m glad you mentioned that to your women followers…. Ps…ignore those who say your not in great shape, you are beautiful, and hope to be your size or at least close to it someday. I lost 50lbs but have 50lbs to go (if not a bit more).

Alright, i lost 40lbs with the wild diet in about a month and a half. You can snack on protein, he actually says protein is hard to over eat and vegetables, you can never go over your carb limit with vegetables and he goes over that as well. Also, he explains how much protein to consume and how it works with women and in our bodies in general. His idea of cheat meals still have a healthy approach. He explains why specific kind of fats to eat are essential to the weight loss. Keep in mind everyone, he comes from a show where his client competed agains other people and their respective diet plans. His clients wife wasn’t in the show “my diet is better than yours” but she was doing the wild diet and lost more weight than the first place woman who won the show. James and his client came in second, only because they only focused on fat loss and maintained muscle weight, which weighs more that fat. This diet is not only good for people trying to lose weight, it’s good for people with diseases, like diabetes because it’s against sugar and it even goes hand in hand with body building.

Thanks so much for this review. I didn’t realize a premise is to fast in the morning…that actually makes me much more interested in researching his plan because I tend to do that anyway, and then I want to “feast” at night, i.e. nighttime is my weakness for wanting to eat.
When did we go from eating food to eating food-like substances?
I thought the book was super confusing on how much fat, protein and starchy carbs I should consume.
I thought that his focus on adding berries that are full of antioxidants and resistance starch that feed our micro biome was great. Those things seem important for heath and are often left out of Keto!
Corset will prevent slouching while sitting. Unlike main stream modern ideas… its actually very good for women who sit too long for work. Corsets have a bad rep because of the extreme women who removed ribs for vanity’s sake… and the few who tight laced to the extreme. Most modest women used them for support. its actually safer than underwire bras.
I read the book and he definitely explains why the fasting is NOT for women, although some women “might” be okay with it. He does explain why it’s not great for our hormones (estrogen) and how it affects them.

Love the Wild Diet. I wouldn’t call it a diet as it’s now my way of life. I was sold after watching My Diet is Better than yours and I saw, I think his name is Kurt eat bacon burgers, ribs and a lot of stuff I liked and won most of the weigh ins, I said to myself, “this is a diet I can do.” lol. My biggest struggle is that I love potatoes, but I’ve learned to substitute with other options. With that said, I do one or two cheat meals a month and decide if the meal is really worth cheating. I believe the cheat meals trick my body from all the clean eating and boost my metabolism. When I first started, I did the 30 meal plan which was simple to follow, there were some good meals as well as a few I didn’t care too much for but I dropped 20 lbs with zero exercise.

Thanks for this, it was nice hearing what another woman thought about his approach. Overall I’ve had great success following the Wild Diet! I was already eating lots of real, whole foods, but throwing fasting into the mix was actually very helpful to actually achieve some weight loss which I’d been unable to do before. I’ve found that I actually struggled a lot more with binging when I was eating throughout the day because I was constantly hungry, and with fasting I’ve actually managed to eat a lot less even when it’s my ‘feasting’ time. Because lets face it, even though real food is the way to go, if you’re eating too much butter or too much in general you’re not going to lose weight. Anyways thanks again for your review:)

Are you saying a donut has the same macronutrient profile or effect on the body as a bowl of 1 1/2 cups cereal and grass-fed milk if you eat them? That is rubbish. You sound as ignorant as James when you say that. Sure you get the insulin spike. But if you use ancient grains (flax/pumpkin seeds/oats), and milk, it absorbs slower and you get a smaller spike, as opposed to eating a donut which some goes to glycogen stores and some of it would go to body fat depending on metabolism and activity level. Any trainer will tell you fat storage in certain parts of the body leads to different levels of health risk. It can literally be googled in seconds. Him including it in his book is as if he wrote it for children. He should have written “For Beginners” at the end of his title. For the record, if you study female hunter-gatherers, you will notice almost all the women stay behind with children while the men go hunting. Men are meant to Fast, not women. Probably why you had trouble with it.

Swimming in the morning has become a wonderful part of my days. It’s one of the few times I find relief from osteoarthritis pain in my back. I’m not a vigorous swimmer but it makes such a difference. Where buying food is concerned, we have a hard time buying organic too. When we cant get organic we just look for non gmo, no hormones and no antibiotics as much as possible. Oh, and cooked radishes taste quite a bit like potatoes. Praying you’ll be able to find what works best for you.

Hi Abel, i will buy a physical copy of your diet book if you can answer these questions for me. I’m 32 and have been battling depression, fatigue and hyperhidrosis for 14 years. Believe it or not, my father in law has diabetes, and he’s sugar and heartburn it’s been way better with this diet, he cut medication by half just by doing this diet, he figured it out that good fat reduced insulin in your body, and insulin make you gain weight, or something like that, anyway… he’s definitely look better, no more heartburn and he’s sugar it’s more control, hope work for you guys too, just do some research before you start any diet, he tried the “ vigan diet” for 6 weeks but no results on he’s diabetes.. so he switch to this and so far it’s working ✌

“Golly” very funny. I’ve been paleo for three weeks and running four miles a day. I was a competitive runner before kids and now I’m getting focused again. My question to you Abel……I noticed I am not losing weight as fast while working out. Last time I tried paleo, I lost 10 pounds in two weeks then went back to my crappy, addictive sad diet. This time I lost four pounds in three weeks and started to think I was doing something wrong. Like this paleo diet is just another diet. I DO feel stronger eating good, healthy foods, but does your book talk about fat loss and why with paleo? Studies to refer to? And true benefits of each paleo food group? In addition, I love baking and have been baking paleo treats with agave. Even though it’s low glycemic, does your book talk about portion sizes or is this based on hunger and fullness. Well this idea that animals are always lean in nature is not 100% true..many use even insuline sensitive to gain fat for winter so if it’s true that the crap food makes you fat in a bad way you can gain fat also by eating tons of healthy fruit
Weight Watchers really works. I bought a lot of diet books that didn’t work, to easy to procrastinate. Or just watch Caravan Carolyn who loves keto, her food looks yummy and easy.
It boils down to Carbohydrate Intolerance and everyone response differently to carb intake… there is no known carbohydrate deficiency disease and we do not store carbs… we store fats… simple biological fact… we do not need carb… but our microbiome does…

I try to eat lots of veggies and salads. I put my fresh herbs on my salad instead of dressing. Even store bought herbs like dill, garlic or onion powder, basil…. It makes the salad great.

So I don’t know what his diet is but listen to me anything else other than meat and junk food yeah, those heavily processed ‘food’ packages from supermarked shelves with chemical ingredients like sodium glutamate etc. Any organic food is Ok. The problem with it is you have to find the time and effort to cook it rather than get it in a tray at fast food
I’m on board with the general philosophy fasting early and eating later. Also pushing carbs near the end of the day seem to improve my often sketchy sleep and controls cravings. I’m not going to buy any more diet books. Plenty of ideas on the internet, and experimenting is the only way to find out what works.

i find he is so wishy washy and lacks structure that so many people need.Most people need a year or more just to heal there gut and get things back in order.(I need more time for sure,I have lost lots of weight but still need to heal food addictions and my immune system is still week)James well is young and i don’t think has ever bin very damaged.

Lol our modern dilemma. How to lose weight. Don’t eat more than you need, no processed junk, low to no sugar and keep busy. As for me I suppose I’m on keto. I lost 60 lbs. on this but didn’t know that’s what it was. I just got rid of what I knew kept my weight on. And I only ate when I had to. Guess that was intermittent fasting. Who knew. Good luck.

There is so much protein in plants and legumes and grains that animal flesh isn’t required. Even if you are raw you still get enough protein in your diet. You won’t suffer protein deficiency on a plant based, whole foods diet.
Congrats Abel & Kurt! You guys were great on that show. Really amazing weight loss and great tv entertainment too. I’ve bought the Wild Diet book and after only two weeks, I’ve lost 7 lbs but more importantly I went from barely fitting my jeans to they are loose everywhere and I think I need to go down a size. Great results considering I’m only just starting and am trying to ease myself into the new lifestyle slowly.

Your book was sold out for 1 month. That’s cool. I did not see it sold out in Spokane, WA. Congrats on the fat loss Kurt and Abel on the success from kicking butt on the show. You guys were the true winners. Looking back on my past comments, I wish ABC had not cut so much out of your guys’ footage.
I have 2 realistic questions about your book.
1. How can you teach people to get in-shape to look natural with 7-12 minutes of exercise?
2. And what is your recommendation to hit the daily protein goals? Do you allow for Whey and Greek Yogurt on the diet. It seems like without supplements a person would be spending a ridiculous amount of money on grass-fed/free-range/wild caught meats. You mentioned to use the bodybuilder/trainer norm of 1g per Lb. of bodyweight in the book.
