Thanks for this tutorial. This is something I wanted to learn.
Elinize sağlık. Meyveye batırdığınız raptiye mi? Meyvenin sapı mı kopmuştu??
U can also use sunlight to do the same(keep it in a open place cover it with a thin cloth to avoid dust etc )it’s needs 1 day or maximum 2 days
you can also dry sweet potatoes! it’s a common korean snack that’s really delicious and easy to make at home:)
I stop the video after I saw oven it for 6-8 hours. err no thanks. It’s easy to found dried fruit with no extra sugar at the market around here. PS: try eat dried jackfruit next time guys
It’s so hot here… I’ll jist dry it under the sun… It’s costless and faster since it’s basically an oven outside anyway.
Everyone is just talking about electricity bills and climate change lol
WTH 6-8 hours in oven. Electrical energy doesn’t grow on tree. Dry them in sunlight. Basically Tasty producers are showing how to increase global warming in this video.
Who is turning their oven on in their tiny as NYC apartment in this humidity to make this crap when they can just go to Trader Joe’s? Not my fat ass, I need my fruit cold out the fridge.
After watching this video we are drying 6 persimmons! 2 weeks past, they look great, can’t wait to try them and tell you the results

And I thought fruits were eaten mainly for their water content
please help answer my question. have you have any issue with ants and flies or other insects eating them while hanging to dry?

so lucky you have persimmon tree….so nice to look at while harvesting, thanks for sharing.
Looks so delicious also a healthy snack… need to try it
those moisture meters, how deep need they to be pressed in the wood to be sure they are dry enough? there’s no way to get to the core of the wood, so how to be sure?
I bought six persimmons to try this but they were very soft and did not look like yours when I tried to peel them. Soft and juicy. Do I need to find persimmons that are not ripe?
This was my favourite new years treat also! Now I know how to make it myself thank you Hegineh for the recipe!
With all those lovely persimmons and your gigantic satsuma orange tree, i wouldn’t mind being your neighbor, Bill!

My company sells a all natural solar dryer for the exact same thing.
Consider using a lower temperature. If you keep the temp under 104, the heat will not kill enzymes and vitamins.
Can you imagine how much damage this does to the climate to tell this many people to waste power
How can we get plant of this fruite as long as no seeds in it? Can I get any idea to get the plant?
So I’m new to wood making. I make irish Blackthorn walking sticks.
I leave my sticks in a garage that’s left open to air dry. The average circumference is between 1 and 2 inches. To make them dry faster would you recommend the dehumidifier and fan method?
How long would it take sticks of this diameter to dry to about 12%? Is it possible to get to about 9 % with your method?
Thank you in advance.
Lady, please have the cooking show without kids, it is so noisy and distracting.
Please show how to dry plums please. I tried many ways always failed
They don’t dip in a flour or corn starch, those are natural sugar from persimmon crystallized on the surface!! This happens if you dry them outside under the sun till spring time. Its never flour or corn starch!!
For furniture making, I tend to shoot for 8% moisture content. Is that too low?
Great video, but did someone really film this vertically? Yikes.
WHEN I WENT TO FIND MY KIWI
I LOOKED INSIDE THE PANTRY
WHEN THE PANTRY NO HAVE KIWI
I LOOKED AT MY ROOMATE
WHEN MY ROOMMATE ATE MY KIWI
I WENT AND ATE MY ROOMMATE
Thanks for sharing yr video, I would love to make dried Persimmons next time.
I just tried a persimmon for the first time in my life. Delicious!
Can you do this with fresh cut lumber? Does it matter if its oak or walnut?
Good video. Til the end, it went so fast i couldnt read it. Had to constantly go back and try pause.
Thanks so much, I have a kitchen full of persimmons and I want to dry them to make cinnamon tea. Mmmmm great fun video
dried persimmon is extremely popular in china. never knew you also.prepare this in armenia
Thank You We appreciate your great video, and happy good vibes. Aloha )
One of the best videos I’ve ever watched. We’ve been eating persimmons for 20 years and never heard of drying them. I can’t wait to try this.
I have no luck at all drying oak this fast. It checks and cracks like crazy (not from the ends since I use Anchorseal). Not sure what I’m doing wrong. Hackberry and sweetgum seem to do fine with quick drying though.
We all weren’t expecting that beautiful strawberry to turn into 1:52
might turn it into some persimmon sugar. we got a tree and a grape vine. which we dont eat enough of.
Did anyone notice that the last 4 take only 30 minutes in the oven (less for kale)?
Don’t listen to the girl!:) The lady is right! Real dried persimmons taste like candy, like persimmon fruit leather, like persimmon jelly candy. It’s a true delicacy. People dip them in flour or starch for several reasons. First one, as it was told in the video, is because it becomes sticky. But the second one is because real sun dried persimmon releases syrup, that crystalizes with time, if it’s properly sun dried. This kind of fruit is considered to be of the top quality. That is why some people use flour or starch to fake that crystallized sugar coating and make the fruit look more expensive. Dried persimmons recipe came to Russia from Japan, but they’re well made in Armenia as well. We always buy them from Armenians in our city and they’re awesome! If you want to make great dried persimmons, listen to the Armenians! This lady knows what she’s talking about.TY for the recipe. I only have one question. Does this drying help to get rid of the bitterness? My persimmon tree gave us about 30 kilos of persimmons this year. But when they’re not ripe, they’re bitter and I wanted to know if your method helps with that. TY
YES! I have been looking for how to make this forever! I saw a special where it showed a village in Armenia where they make it and it looked so beautiful because the house had it hanging EVERYWHERE. I also see it in Korean soap operas and it makes me want them even more. I will try to make this this year! Thank you <3
You are so graceful and adorable, lady:) I really like the way present yourself. Thank you so much for the video, great job!
Funny how they sped up the vegetables, because we have seen them like a 1000 times by now.
Really good
We can use these things how many months? (Expired)
When you live in Dubai, all you gotta do is leave it outside for 10 minutes.
I just watched Huel Howser California’s Gold Japan style dried persimmons episode and I’m going to try this at home.
Very nice and beautiful collection. Thank you for sharing new friend is here to support you. ❤️♥️
My next door neighbor is from Japan. Her grandmother grew Siago persimmons. Which are admittedly somewhat softer than Fuyus. But she said we could never dry them outdoors in our humid climate near Houston. Also, we live in a bird migratory zone that cause great damage to my Fuyus. Do you have bird damage Lai?
I live in Canada. Is it ok to dry it in the kitchen?please let me know. Thank you
Heghine jan, you are doing a great job introducing our cuisine and tranditions, thank you
Love you:))))
My Fuyu persimmon tree is loaded with fruit and they are almost ripe today (barely sweet now).
I am anxious to try to make hoshigaki since I just only now heard of it, thanks to the internet.
Thank you for making this great video!
but how does it get from a big round shape to the final flat dried disc?
I can make potato chips using microwaves for 8 minutes, without oil:)
I live in Canada and its cold outside so u are saying its ok in the kitchen? cuz some people say it needs wind and sun shine thank you so much for your reply. Let me know please as I want to make it soon. Thank you again.
How’s the power bill I’m trying to dry a black cherry slabs that I’m about mill
The daughter doesn’t like them because she has been Americanized and indoctrinated by American school and socialist.
I’m so happy I came across this video! You are a doll! Very interesting recipe. Thx for sharing!
I actually tried out some of these. I like the sweet potato chips, but I also like the apple chips
Heghine how do you keep fruit flies from sitting on the fruits?
I have a metal shed in my backyardzero air flow, going to be hot this summeri wonder if the wood will dry faster in there (using your method) or if i should allow some airflow thru there…airflow will cool the temp down but the air will be going thrui wonder if its better to leave it super hot with no airflow, or allow air flow but cooler temp….also, what type of saw did you use to cut those slabs? and do you use a drum sander to sand?
Persimmon dried fruit was invented by Chinese people 3000+ years ago!
a real woman…..sweet and healthy, lovely mother as well……im moving to armenia to find someone like you
This gorgeous lady with her sexy accent has me mesmerized….
I’ve never heard about dry persimmons before! It would be interesting to try to make some. The climate where I live is dry, warm and sunny, as in Armenia, I believe. So it must work here too. Thank you for another nice recipe!
Oh no, Heghinehjan! I wanted to order two packages, but just saw you don’t ship to Germany. I’m sad! As always: love your channel!
What a monstrous way to peel a mango. Mangoes are easy, just cut them slightly off center on both sides and either cut the halves in half and use a knife on the quarter, or use the cup method and scoop the mango into a cup.
My grandma made dried persimmons every year, so I love them a lot, but I think they don’t need massage at all (it’s an extra job), and also you can hang more then 2 persimmons (like 5-7) together on the same tread, but they mustn’t touch each other. and when hanging on the stick there must be at last 5 cm between the treads…
Thanks for the video. Just so I didn’t miss something, you don’t dip them or coat with anything before drying? Can you leave the peel on? For the ones too soft to dry, I’ve let them get soft on the counter and then puree the sweet pulp with a teaspoon of lemon or lime juice, then free the pulp to make fruit leather or baked goods later (or just use as fresh jelly). But I wanted to try drying this year! Do you have any easy ways to crack and/or roast macadamia nuts? The brown shell I mean after the green husk has come off. I figured with you going to Hawaii you might.
I make them every year in august/september but they never make it to christmas time.
How long and how can they be preserved?
Thank you for your video. I have a mature tree and didnt want to waste any.
These are delicious like natural candies/caramel/taffy. Im glad I was born and raised outside the US otherwise Im gonna be ignorant about other cultures.
She miss out one very important step… The persimmons need to boiled for 10 second before hand up to try or else that will turn moldy.
Oooh, this was my favourite sweet growing up, it’s so much better than chocolate, thank you for posting! People who don’t like fresh persimmons should give these a try, because the flavour is richer and the texture is smooth. I can’t believe this used to be my street food, I miss it very much.
I like persimmon fruit…!
I’m Bangladeshi.
Know you Bangladesh?
Which brand peeler/corer do you have? The one I have that looks similar to yours breaks my persimmons before I can finish peeling.
Great idea. I can’t wait to try this with my fuyus. Never thought about doing this as they are so good to eat plain, but now that the tree is producing more this might be the next step. Thanks for your fantastic videos; I’m learning a lot.
Looks like a lot of work for a few pieces of dried fruit. Also dust is likely to cover the fruit when the process finishea.
CRAP! You just reminded me, I forgot to get persimmon trees! Been way overloaded this year and lots of things have fallen through the cracks. This looks like a good idea. Started dehydrating more stuff this year and really like it. Did what few pears we had. Didn’t last a week. Wonder if they would make good schnapps.
I’m glad as much as the others and you really inspire me to cook and I also love the arminian food it’s just Amazing thanx for the for the huge effort to present such wonderful recipes god bless you and your lovely family
I’ve always wanted to try dried kiwifruit cause it’s really low in carbs and a good snack for diabetics like myself thanks Tasty!

Thank you so much! I have been clearing out a few trees & then it hit…why don’t I try to save the wood for some projects!
I’ve just been stacking them for firewood but it’s starting to really pile up on me.
Very helpful!
about the three week mark is the way i like em, its like a jelly almost. about 6 weeks they get like sugar dates which is still very good. this works great for sweet and astringent persimmons.
Thank you for making such a good video about the Japanese hoshigaki
best ever, they taste amazing specially the fresh dried ones, just like candy
8 hours gas in the uk…. I don’t think so you can buy dried mangoes from lidl for £1.50 and save a small fortune
I want to make a handrail for my stairs out of a 3-4” round sapling. How can I dry an 8 foot long sapling/log of that diameter?

I’m so glad I found your channel. I love your personality, and your cooking <3
Any body has dried whole persimmons in a dehydrator. Any advice? Thank you
During New Year gatherings, this was the only thing i would search on the tables))))) im gonna make a purchase, because i trust you)))
Will any of these drying methods also make bugs leave? I have some red oak that I’m hoping to use but want to make sure pests don’t turn up later.
Hello Cô. I maked an asmr video about dried persimmons. I use similar recipe like yours. Your dried persimmons look delicous
Yeah, a “to go snack” takes 6 8 hours
LIKE WHO EVEN HAS THAT TIME
Thank you for showing me the best way to do this. I would have just put them in my dehydrator but, I think this would be much better. Natural drying.
He/she who knows the taste of this extraordinary fruit, they know how delicious it is, and I am one of those lucky ones, who grew up in that culture & knows very well the taste & smell of this great, healthy fruit. One of my childhood nostalgies, that up until today is favorite. Thanks Heghine jan for bringing memories alive. ( but between us, from the video & process I could understand that it’s a very time consuming & hard work:) I have no that much patience to prepare it though, thus I will just enjoy the video.:)
2017 was The Year of the Persimmon and this is the Year of the Acorn 2018.
remind me to dry fruit in a covered baking sheet under the texas sun for 8 hours to save money on the electricity bill
They wasted so much on that gorgeous, yummy looking mango and pineapple:((((

Wow looks delicious. Keep up the amazing recipes! Could you try to do something with deep frying?
Would you use the polymer over Plywood AND OSB. I would think it would be fine if you consider the floor area is only 5′ wide and 9 ‘ deep in a walkway area of a bathroom that has engineered trusses every 16″. Not much flex whats you thoughts of not putting Hardiebacker board down
“Add silica gel”
Me: Remembers the the 5 life hacks channel cursed video
Video:”puts silica gel in salt and coctails”
Comments on that video were amazing “I add it to my soup but I don’t feel so good…”
The kale chips are really good! Highly recommended! Make sure they are crispy!
Brilliant video. I was wondering, when you have the timber drying in the garage and the spare room, do you have an additional heater along side the de-humidifier? If so what temperature do you have the rooms?
I really appreciate that so much of your house is full of lumber. Awesome tips!
I’ve never seen persimmons dried that way! I have a bunch of persimmons this year, if any are left (very delicious!) I think I will dry to dry them this way. Thank-you for your informative video!
You said to keep the slices even, but you did a horrible job trying to do so and made a bunch of uneven slices. Not really a good example you set there.
I love persimmons natural or dried. How long will it last after it is dried? Do i leave it in the fridge? Another great recipe, i learn so much from you thank you!
You are so sweet. Thank you so much for sharing. Maybe we could cook up a recipe if I have a chance to visit Seattle. Have a great day and thank you for watching.
I live in Seattle if you ever come to Seattle stop by and visit not too far from the top of California. It is cold here but beautiful in the summer.
What state are you live or you live in Vietnam, I love that fruit but only California can grow well not in Seattle it is expansive here
I always loved seeing dried persimmons (hoshi-gaki) hanging from the rafters of homes when I lived in Japan, and I loved eating them during winter even more:) Great recipe!
I live near San Jose and have two large persimmon trees. While the rest of my fruit trees were a bust this year my persimmons went crazy. I was wondering what to do with them until I saw this video.
Everyone is complaining about 8hrs bills and all that stuff…. This video is actually useful for some of the ingredients like “Pomegranate seed drying ” or any other spices, i dried pomegranate seeds inside oven on 100℃ for first 15min then on 40℃ for 2hrs. Now gonna use it to make Sour chicken soup…. Yipee
You don’t seem to have any clue about what you are talking about. For a start, persimmons should be peeled: eating the peel can cause intestine occlusion.
Have you ever tried dehydrating whole persimmons +Vegetable Gardener? I wish I could with a dehydrator and I wonder how long it would take. Thanks.
