As you tackle each segment, your mission is to push it.Cardio exercise should be done at least three days a week. You can safely do some type of cardio every day of the week, but if you are also weight training then you are better off alternating days instead of trying to do cardio and weight training on the same day.As a guideline, the more cardio-oriented your sport is, the more cardio sessions you will need and the greater your focus should be on cardio training. If your sport is more strength-oriented, your focus should be primarily on developing that strength, with fewer cardio sessions.

Need help here. I’m in the army and we do cardio every weekday morning. I weigh 140 and am 5’9”. How can I keep doing cardio in the morning but get the gains?
I sleep at 10pm wake up at 5am eat 5 egg whites boiled do intense cardio for 10-15min everyday then do my weight training at 8:30 and take when isolate(myprotein) one scoop i am 17 years old consuming 180gm of protein with height of 5ft11inch with 160 pound weight is this plan good for me? I only take 25gm of protein from whey rest from solid food i drink a lot of water i am half the time at toilet i consume 2200 calories i want to build muscles please any tips would be appreciated
Thought I was pretty strong and I’ve been doing cardio before my lift, can’t wait to see how strong I really am when I switch it up
Usually I click away within a minute on videos like this but your explanations are not only simple and fast but they keep me INTERESTED.
I m late as hell, but what about lifting/hiit, or body weight/hiit?
Everyone don’t have to train to have body mass. Train for both because I box, but everyone train the way they need to train for.
theres just one problem, what if you are too sore from leg training to do let’s say the cycling hiit cardio at the end of the upper body workout? seems painful and can’t perform well? how to come around this?
Give me your view doing abs and cardio after workout. In which workout we should carry on abs day and cardio day.
Legs day –
Shoulder day –
Biecep day –
Triceps day –
Chest day –
Back day –
Most trustworthy source of exercise information. Thanks for all your work, keep it up
Everybody has the priceless gift to bulk up-but few actually use it. Copy and Paste into Google Ready Set Ripped and discover how to utilize your gift.
That is totally informative, thank you. My question is, if it’s not recommended doing cardio before weight lifting, how should I warm up before exercising?
any chance you can do examples of daily meal plans that can be used to achieve healthy eating? does focusing on caloric intake matter if trying to cut or should nutrition be a bigger factor? you are crazy ripped! is there a reason your back doesn’t seem straight when doing push ups or is it just a big booty? thanks for these videos. I plan to use many of your body weight routines. oh! does hiit apply here?
15 min cardio session on the bike, 4 times a week will do ya right
Thanks Mark. Nice vascularity. How do you get such swollen veins?
But what about warming up before lifting? I thought this was a must
The rock does 1 hour cardio thwn 1 hour weights every morning…????
Yes Cardio kills your gains. I don’t need a video to tell me.
I love your video,… Im female, and need your guidance,…. I am not over weight at all,.., but need to get in shape,..!! i am 5.7, 65kg,… need to loose 5 kg!!
Why am I the only one who notices his bobble headed activity?
Do mine first empty stomach first in morning. I eat two of my meals before my weight training Keeps me leaner and affects my workout 0. It also gets it out of the way for the day. I agree however if you do weight training and cardio same ‘session” as Mark said I would agree with him and do cardio last! If you do it first in morning empty stomach is best for me and gets it out of way since I wait at least a few hrs and couple meals in me before training with weights on push poll system. Push pull is by far the most logical physiology way of training in my opinion.
How to separate cardio and weight/strength training? Visiting Gym once in a day only
Nice that this person is promoting an active lifestyle, but this video is itself perpetuating a myth-that cardio will target and burn muscle as first fuel of choice. ( 1:30) That does not make any sense-why would our bodies evolve to burn vital muscle before fat stores as a preferred fuel source? And, it is NOT supported by scientific studies either (keep reading). Our bodies burn fat as a first option-not vital muscle tissue. Extreme cardio athletes often look skinny (upper body) because they simply don’t do any full body resistance training in the first place. If you have a well balanced program of cardio/high intensity interval training/and resistance training you can achieve AND keep upper body muscle gains. You will also have an overall more balanced fitness level, physique, AND better health. Cardio is necessary to build optimal endurance and improves cardio-vascular health. If cardio burns off muscle how is it that marathoners and elite cyclists have such advanced leg muscle development? The following quote is from a German study of elite endurance runners “…What is really interesting though, is that fat tissue was the first tissue affected by running, and more importantly, visceral fat loss (70% on average) happened much earlier in the running process, than the researchers would have thought…” link here:
http://news.softpedia.com/news/Running-Reduces-Visceral-Fat-169202.shtml
I found that link here which is also worth reading:
http://scoobysworkshop.com/does-cardio-burn-muscle/
So, if you love to run, road or mountain bike, swim, etc. but also workout with weights with the goal of meaningful muscle gains-do some research and don’t be misled by mis-information. Continue to enjoy ALL of the above activities without fear of eradicating muscle gains. Just be sure to train smart, eat right, recover and rest adequately, and avoid over training in any given fitness activity.
Thank you for putting the answer straight at the beginning of the vid
I think it’s better to weight lift first cus right after I play basketball I barely feel like lifting weights cus I’m tired so yea weight lifting would be better
If a bodybuilder and cardio freak was in a boxing match let’s say they were both 200 pounds the bodybuilder would have explosive shots for a short time but the cardio freak could laugh and out last him 5x over endurance is always key for me to be capable of doing something instead of looking like you can do it
I am 23 yrs old height is 5 ft and my weight is 63kg… nd I have osteoarthritis… my ayurvedic doctor has said I can do strength training… plss suggest me some exercises… pls help me
Ronnie Coleman said he did 2 hours of cardio every day. Don’t stress too much about “cardio killing your gains” lmao
Depends on what your goals are… Doing am IRONMAN was my goal over the last year (which I did:D)!
24hours from cardio to weights I train every 10-12hours and do a bit of cardio 10mim for warm up does this help or not?
I run high intensity short bursts and I sometimes do pull ups and my upper body is growing and getting stronger while still getting faster. I would have to agree with this video
Depends on the person i think!
I do moderate cycling 45 minutes 4-5 days outta the week @6 pm and weight training 1 hour 7 days a week @11 pm at night
I see no fatigue or muscle loss but i only notice fat loss Not even Weight loss!
I just add an extra 400 calories to my day!
It’s all Calories in vs calories out!
Im I the only one who thinks he looks like the black version of wolverine?
Best thing I’m going to run on place for only 1minute that’s it fuck cardio I’m not gonna loose my gains for shitty cardio!!
“weight training releases x y z, But ultimately makes you a bad ass” Marc is a boss! Love your videos.
Hail the 5 toe shoe!
I have been doing 10000 steps for about 3 years now. I have just started weight training for about 15-20 mins in morning and doing 10kms of cycling at moderate speed in the evening or normal walking for about 5000-6000 steps. Is this strategy fine?
so happy I went for a beginning weight lifting class at my college! I love weights:)
what’s your opinion on Strength Training AND Cardio? I usually do heavy lifting for about 45 minutes and then an hour of cardio 5 times a day.
I am a fat panda I want to loose weight but I want to run Marathons and loose weight so what should I be doing. I have lost 40 pounds and i want to loose 80 more. If anybody has some advice for me I would love it thank you
I have been training Muay Thai for 2 years (in class we train both cardio and resistance) and I have gotten gains really well…
those studies are nonsense, at the end of cuts, pro bodybuilders would be doing 40 mins of cardio per day in addition to weights every day, definitely not 24 hours apart, to hit that ultra low bodyfat %. If you are maintaining your weights in the gym, it won’t affect you at all, just a tool for fat loss.
You can’t just say “Strength training works for everyone”. It never did anything for me. I used to lift weights and eat right, but could NEVER get lean and fit. Plus I never did make any real “gains” in muscle. When I started running everyday, I got very toned and fit into clothes much better than before. Running works MUCH BETTER for me personally than weight lifting does. At the same time, I do know people who run for hours all year long and they are still fat fucks. You have to find what works best for you and stick with that.
Does this apply to fat people? I don’t want my fatness turned into muscle ‼️
I usually do cardio like running n stomach workout before weight workout. Is it okey?
loving the vids. but I do find i need some cardio. its upped my game but I put it in eith my leg day. but i do intensive skipping a hiit stuff. if your body can’t handle the increase in muscle size you you will come across problems.
Me: Sees right arm buff…
Also me: sees left arm not buff…
…
Me again: click
I always sweat a lot when doing lifts, so am I burning fat
i do cardio hiit and it’s more better than jogging cause you immediately have that fat burning stage within just a short time i love it jogging for 30 mins is just too long just to burn like 300 cal doing hiit and strength training is very effective.
Balance your Cardio v. Weights volume based on your goals. (More Cardio = Less Gains)
-> Greg Douchette shouldn’t see that..
is all about the goal in our life, in my case I care less about lifting 150 pounds dumbbell on each hand and or looking like a “beefy monster” that IS NOT my goal, my goal is ENDURANCE(boxer welterweight or 149 lb or Mayweather weight) and that’s why you will almost never see a boxer that looks like a heavy lifter, also my “real job” is that i am a pro poker player which i need mental endurance since i play 3 or 4 times a week for up to 20 hours NON STOP sometimes, so i have found out that boxing and running trains me for mental endurance too. and for the second group that this guys put on i will put: MARATHON runners, Pro poker players, boxers and African wild dogs this last ones the masters of endurance since they are able to run 60 miles NON stop in around 2 hours thats like double eliud kipchoge marathons winner speed while chasing a buffalo or any other fast animal and keep in mind that buffalo, zebras etc can run for long time at “pace” speed and also very fast for a short distance, even if wild dogs fall behing for a mile they do not give up and keep running until prey gets tired since a few prey animals will run this long at once
You’re doing an exceptional job with these videos, man! Sincerely! Your solid and clear explanations are spot on.
This sort of quality content mixed with consistency will see you through to success just as it does with training and physical conditioning. “I will persist until I succeed.”
Keep it up, man!
-a fellow Scott:P
I used to do cardio before my workout and that affects my muscle growth well enough but recently (I dont know why) I changed the way I did and my growth almost stopped
I respect this man, he has a face of someone I’d trust to give me advice.
If u want to gain lean muscle mass. Do not do cardio, bulk up, store excess fat for fuel. After afew months then incorperate some Hiit to cut fat.
when we say 20 minutes of HIIT does that include the rest intervals? cause that would be really short
Greg! You can’t leave me hanging like that man! Show me the exercises!!!
CARDIO KILLING GAINS IS A MYTH!
i always saw lots of people doing cardio almost everyday but they have lots of muscles. they dont even use steroids, because theres no point of cardio if u using steroids thats why i know they dont use it. and i knew lots of CYCLIST that they have a HUGE LEGS and CALVES. its not genetics, im asian. theres lot of fighters doing Marathon jogging/running but still they dont lose muscle. the secret is this.
our Body Dont use Muscle as energy if theres a lots of fat in your body. Common Sense people, the only time that your Body is eating your muscle is if you have a 6% Body fat and below, but if you have a 10% body fat and more, you’re Safe for doing cardio even almost everyday.
What are the benefits of doing hit training in the morning and weight training in the afternoon?
Would fasted skipping kill my gainz if it was in the morning
If lifting demands more then cardio then how to you burn WAY more calories doing cardio rather then lifting
For general health.. having big muscle is less important than having healthy heart.. so i guess do have both beautiful physique and heart.. we should incorporate the two. Its just that your muscles wont be as big.
So I workout both cardio and resistance training on the same days, but I’m also on a keto diet and I work out fasted. Since I have a very low supply of glycogen to begin with, does this advice still stand? My goals are fat loss, so I’ve been doing cardio first, then lifting heavy for one or two sets to take advantage of the creatine phosphate, and then just slightly lighter till failure.
i complete disagree…u need define correctly whats cardio means. i wont be argue with u over this….
Thanks. Armed with this information I will do upper body and recumbent bike day tomorrow
Bruh i play D2, we lift in the morning and right after that we have 45min practice and 1 hour practice at night…
if you have a problem lifting without cardio, just do like 30 jumpin jacks and that should get u goin. not too much just enough. I lift mon tues weds then cardio on thursday and saturday. 3miles and hit my boxing bag til im spent.
Lost 70lb by doing cardio/running. How did I manage to do that? I make a video explaining how to that and there are more to come. The cardio/running is the KING of sports. Whether is the basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball, handball, tennis, football or almost any sports. You name it. Even the pro bodybuilders do cardio. GUYS, do cardio on regular bases, it will improve your health, strength, endurance, condition AND OF COURSE YOU’LL LOSE FAT. Hard work pays off, so invest in yourself!!!
On point. Always got valuable info ✔
Wow, the comments on this video regarding her belly are awful. Reserve your judgments people they make you look ugly regardless of your own body fat %.
But what if my focus IS cardio improvement and not to just get gains in the weight room? I hit the weights but i’m aiming to be better at running
I was planning to do my rope skipping after my leg seassion.
Hope thats fine, i dont really like doing calve raises
I hope you enjoyed this YouTube video! If you have any questions about how to combine cardio and strength just leave a comment below and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Also, if you have any suggestions on how I can improve these videos or make them more engaging, please do let me know!

See you in the next video!
Mounir
Me personally I run for twenty minutes before every workout and then power through the weights so that I can burn out every any anything so that when I lay in bed that night I feel super accomplished
Is there any difference if you are doing bodyweight workout instead of weights?
HiiT Cardio followed by Weight Training is the way forward, your nervous system will get shot first, but once that builds up it almost becomes iron like, as you gradually build up intensity and your strength goes up along with the weights, you’ll definitely up your maintenance calories and before you know it you’ll be eating for fuel like an athlete rather than just ‘dieting’
Your in tremendous shape my friend and I’ll be honest your height makes you look even leaner or your lean body makes you look taller I can’t tell.
Any chance on doing a video regarding the ‘body image’ or ‘body dysmorphia’ issues, I reckon you’ve got a great attitude towards fitness, keep it up bro.
If you want abs and muscles then how are you meant to get those without killing ur muscles??
I jog to the gym, lift, then jog home. It’s about 15 mins each way. I try to remember not to squat first. The trip to the gym would be 30 mins walking, 25 on the bus or 15 driving (then pay for car park). It’s a compromise but it keeps me well.
Can i mix cardio and weight training? For example doing a couple of weight exercise and the run for 5 Minutes and so on.
Isn’t weight training with minimal rest periods cardio, since your heart rate goes up.
I have watched a lot of certified professional trainers on YouTube about workout and diet for muscle gain and fat loss but got disappointed every time with the results. The thing I like about your videos is that you don’t overcomplicate things and your methods actually work! Thanks man.
if you dudes require to get ripped immediately without wasting a single extra minute in the gym, then you have to keep an eye on this online video SIXPP.COMMan muss die Originalität des eigenen Lebens infrage stellen wenn es sich mit den Zeilen eines Rocksongs perfekt umschreiben lässt.
Cardio and muscle loss is just a myth..just focus on the nutrition, adequate rest and correct training.
The owner of picture fit channel is fat so he doesn’t shows up his body on yt he just make cartoons and add some speech on it saying blablabla
I usually wake up at 7 and my first class at uni will start at 9. If I moved that to 6 am and ran for 3 miles in the morning and then do my weight training in the evening, would that still be ok?
Lifting weights absolutely does improve cardiovascular health.
now this is why you shoudnt listen to different so called bodybuilders, everyone has their own way of working out, people should go and check out bollywood actor amir khans weight loss and body building, he got that body by doing THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF THIS VIDEO!! he was doing intense weight lifting, then resting and then was taken for a run, check out his video, plus this video doesnt apply to beginners, theres no harm in doing weights and then taking a 10-15 min rest and then moderate to high intensity cardio, why is there no harm in doing it? coz if u eat the right foods after a work out (proteins) that helps repair your muscles and replace all the depleted glycogen. what is important is, COMBINATION OF WEIGHT-LIFTING AND CARDIO IS A MUST FOR WEIGHT LOSS
I prefer doing cardio first cuz it s almost like i m warming up for weights ♂️
Actually Cardio help me at the time of weight lifting, I have tried Cardio after weightlifting but I can’t do it so it works for me to do Cardio before Weights
Your last 45 seconds explain it WAY better than the first 3 and a half minutes….
What should i do to gain weight i am 45 kg now and i am underweight
I like to do hiit workouts in the morning before I eat anything so instead of using glycose for energy I go straight to burning fat and then later on in the day usually around 7 or 8 I go back for weight lifting. I personally think that’s the most effective way of burning fat and being able to have the energy to do your weight training same day
Marc do you have a response to Jason Blaha calling you out? He said he’d beat your ass in a fight and if you come at him he’ll draw.
How much percent does muscle gain drop if doing cardio more than 3 days a week.
I just received the notification for this video. Looking at comments I see posts from a year ago.
i’m not that much into cardio, cuz i’m skinny person(but now i did build some muscle tho), i do want to start doing it to increase stamina and endurance, now i got some doubts
1. are you saying like don’t do cardio
2. or is it like do both (strength training and cardio) like weekly once or twice cardio
3. do you do cardio if not have you ever done it( like at least once in your whole) if you do show us your routine
and
this one is off topic
4. i like jump roping and as i said i’m a skinny person, Is it ok for me to do jump rope and add it into my everybody routine
man I need to lose some weight..so can I pair strength training with intermittent fasting?
If you seriously want to lose fat fast, you should look up on google \”Reborn Lean Max\”. You are bound to get the body you deserve.
I do 40 mins of cardio before lifting and i still do 3-5 sets on what ever im training doesnt effect me. I did hear cardio before if you wanna lose weight and cardio after if you want to build muscle.
Never seen any peer reviewed evidence that aerobic exercise impacts anaerobic gains or even anaerobic capacity
I do it like this, not only my fat level went down and i gained more muscle mass, my performance is overall better
I do both a lot! Lost weight, body fat, and gained hella strength over this summer! I run approx 3-4 miles a day at a 7:30 pace and lift 2 hours a day. Went from 182 lbs to 175 lbs and bench press went up from 260 to 280, pushups in doing 75 in 2 minutes, and 5K time is like 20:50! Key is more protein!!!
Dear, I’m a big fan starting from IG account, but Please when it comes to videos try to talk slower than this you talk too fast for people like me who is not English natives it’ll be difficult to get you from the first time. hope you can fix it in the next videos.:)
I had the preference of lifting first then doing cardio after because I can push my cardio when I’m tired but getting tired while lifting can be dangerous.
Show this video to somebody that does wayyyyy too much cardio!
Its like this channel reads my fucking mind, I think of a question and then boom I find they already did a video about it
Love what you’re putting out! Helpful info for many. Keep it up!
Guys this is the reason i hate cardio
I do resistance training at all times but sometimes i do cardio unintentionally everyday which totals up to about 45 minutes of cardio a day
I’ve just decided to do 3 days devoted solely to cardio and 4 to calisthenics and weight lifting. Doing it this way and combining a healthy diet is starting to give me positive results.
Amazing video, can you do a begginer calisthenics program that is rings focused?:)
Is it good if I do cardio in the morning than weight training in the afternoon?
Lol also I’m a vegan, so if you could speak abit about Vegan nutrition regarding bodybuilding ( if you have knowledge about it) that would be great!lol thanks
Dude I love how you put comedy into your videos and stuff, that really sets you apart from everyone else doing fitness on YouTube
Just texted my friend on the subject..this is too on the nose..lol and I’m comment 2.. Wow. I have my own thought on it so let me see what Lobliner says.
If my goal now to is lose weight first now should I focus on doing more cardio instead of weight lifting? I have been doing cardio 40 minutes in the morning and 40 in evening with few set of dumbell exercise after that. The result so far is quite good but its a long way to go since I need to shave more than 10 kg of extra weight lol
Nothing new under the sun,Vince Gironda said that you should do weight trsining for body composition
People are triggered, I’ll stick with endurance, people here jacking up muscles but gets out off breath amd dying after a mile run.
So if you want to go to the gym ang lift weights and talk to your gym buddies abiit protein bar for ten minutes the so be it.
Most of cant even do a 30 4 count jumping jacks, 30 burpee 2 pumps
followed by 30 4 count mountain climbers then 30 4 count body weight squats then followed by 30 leg raise
done in 4 sets after a 4 mile run…. 5 days in a week.
That’s why people nowadays are weak and cant join the military service they are going for the look not for health and not strength not endurance, weak minded people who don’t test their limits.
love u content bruh let me know if u need background music for ur vids i can help for free
I disagree if you need to lose weight you need to do cardio not to mention it works your heart and lungs. I am not saying do hours of cardio but 45 minutes of fast walking will do you good for weight loss and your health. 45 minutes should be good for 400 cals on average of you are walking fast.
Pre exhausting by lifting heavy first improves your cardio training in a shorter time span, but running hard first takes away from heavy weight training, of course alot of people think jogging for for 20 min on a treadmill is cardio its not, thats a warm up before stretching then lifting
Does walking kill your gains? should I wheelchair my way around?
I do burpees, jumping jacks and run in place before lifting weights. Is that enough to burn fat?
So,I don’t Have to worry about Losing Muscle Mass due to daily Cardio After workout! Right?
I’m most likely overdoing it at this point but with all the gyms closed I found it’s easier for me to motivate myself to exercise for cardio workouts than bodyweight at home stuff. So I decided to try to run a half marathon, get back down to a 6 minute mile, and potentially try to hit 10k under 10 minutes per mile. I upped my protein and I still do strength workouts but currently aesthetics are my main focus rather than strength.
amazing video. I loved how you explained everything so easy. you look great btw
Because personally I mix it up I do cardio before one day and after weights the other
Very informative, but this video is for those who just want to gain big muscles. I will keep my cardio routine, to me resistance is way more important than just being big.
Is it fine to do fasted HIIT cardio in the morning then strength training at night?
A good video and she looks very attractive!!! Who is she; I only heard the name Erin?
I mean I’m perfectly fine sacrificing size for good heart health. But to each their own
Unfortunately, I should disagree with a few things:
There are many studies that emphasize the lack of any issue about muscle enhancement…If Cardio is done correctly, in reasonable amounts, with Low-intensity SST. Done that way, it will not only burn your fat, as well as improve your heart work and overall health, but this type of cardio also makes recovery process faster, between muscle building type of workouts. The problem you talk about, is “Marathon” way of steady-state cardio (medium level of heart rate, about 150-160 or even more), but when we do low steady-state cardio, it is way less intensive (90-120 h.r.) and negative impacts on muscle building are close to zero.
I swim and I do GYM. When for some reason I went for the swim before, my lifting was VERY seriously diminished. If I lift first and then swim, my swim will be also diminished, but only SLIGHTLY. My priority also is the GYM for now, so it only makes sense for me to lift first and then swim.
Cardio doesn’t kill your gains. I know a shit ton of people who do cardio. News flash these people got muscle for days.
In excess, yes. The issue is was in the application level to avoid losing your gains.
Would HIIT fall into the higher intensity modalities even if you’re incorporating light weights? I typically do two short (15-20 min) HIIT sessions a week and 1 day of cardio (20-30mins) to accompany my full body strength sessions. I want to lose weight but not lose muscle.
Dude is always on point. Blessed are the broken is hot. Damn
I’ll never stop my cardio. I see these buff dudes breathing heavy after they walk up some stairs.
What a lot of BS.
I run 3-5K every day and do full body 3x week. It has never hurt my gains. Of course I don’t (want to) look like those bloated non-functional muscled steroids freaks with distended bellies.
Strong Cardiovascular fitness assists your weight training workouts as you are able to train more intensly without getting gassed out, it also aids in ATP synthesis meaning you can do more sets with less overall recovey time between sets. Once your cardio is at a high enough level you can inorporate recovery runs which can significantly decrease muscle recovery time between workouts. Cardio is good.
thanks for the great videos, they are inspiring. however, I think considering that Heart disease is still the number one killer in our country. Literally 1 in 4 people die of heart disease. And that the American Heart Association recommends 150 minutes of cardio a week will dramatically reduce the risk of heart disease I think some of your advice might be a little off base. I know you are primarily talking about the folks that run half and full marathons, but I hope folks don’t confuse too much cardio with no cardio at all and only strength training.
Many Quit!! You Know Why….? because they make lot mistakes. Setting a personal trainer or getting a training course or learning from these type of difference making strength training videos are helping a lot.
what are the things called where you bend over and walk out to a push up?
Jeff Nippard said LISS cardio is the best scientifically proven to keep muscle
I wake up everyday 5:00 am to make cardio. I’m killing my gains?
Really struggling to find balance….dropped from 252 to 180, and I am trying to build muscle and not put fat back on at the same time…only thing that seems to work is 70 minutes of cardio a day plus 1 hour strength training every day (circa Jack Lalonde routine). Cardio is every day but strength training gets 1 day rest each week…have been doing this for 6 months with some muscle gains…do I have to accept the fact I am just going to have some fat gain if I want serious muscle gain?
Is it ok to do about 2min of Low Intensity and 8minutes of high intensity cardio by running on the treadmill to warm up?
I don’t know my Cousin in Military told to warm up by running first and then weight. I’ve good gain I just need a better diet
If you do cardio after weights, is there a risk of muscle breakdown? How could you avoid muscle breakdown if you do cardio afterward?
Sprinting is a form of cardio… if sprinters didn’t lift any weights, their body would look very similar to any other runner! (just look at the cheetah he is very skinny from just sprinting short distances!! Or a greyhound dog!!)
The cheetah does not require big muscles to be very fast… and human sprinters don’t need strength training either. But they lift weights, because they think it makes them look cool…
Lifting weights make you strong. But big muscles also make you slow, with poor stamina!!
If you think Im doing leg day AND THEN running a mile you’re insane
Decieved from the last video about cardio. Thanks greg. Unsubbed.
If you lift with a fast enough pace, you will get your cardio in too
I do 15 minutes of skipping ropes every day will that affect my muscle growth?
Hmm…i thought running is better first then lift…or like when i run and then try to do a sit up it feels i do better…but i rather do it the right way if weights is better first…im also trying to get a bit of muscles so i can do push ups…
Edit: After watching this i guess i can do one thing in the morning like running and nights weights…
Jesus hrist at 1:59 you may have wanted to represent a fatigued man but instead you created some Junji Ito shit right there!
not even fat, but my stamina is so bad, i hate running so i usually do a round of shadow boxing and im gassed after 30 secs
This is literally the BEST tip I have heard in a very long time! I first do my cardio for 25-30 minutes and then move onto strength training that is weight lifting and body weight workouts and boy am I tired and just loath them while doing it! I will do the reverse and see how that works out! Thanks a lot for this!
how can u explain big chiselled people here in my gym always do cardio everyday? they didnt lose muscle. theyre Big. whats ur way out now? “they are genetically gifted?” or “it depends” i dont think so. lol. dont believe in this myth guys. u can burn fat and build muscle at the same time just like what i did. 3x a week weight lifting and 3 times a week HIIT cardio. this is the best body i got combining both.
In the past a practiced for a while a discipline called “athletic biathlon”, where you compete in bench press (adjusted for body weight) + running (2 miles or 5k meters). And, it is really tricky to maximize performance in both of them
Did they scale the calorie consumption in the studies because
It’s so annoying because I absolutely love running but I want to build a nice body too. It seems like no matter how hard I try, I cant have both. So do I train for those 4 minute miles or do I build muscles for the ladies
if you boys wish to get ripped prompt without spending a single another minute in the gym, then you really want to check out this online video SIXPP.COMYou are such a piece of shit,” I yell into the quiet cab, slapping the horn accidentally. It makes a sound like a wounded duck
Cardio will keep your body fat down. Strength training will do that at a slower rate because it keeps fat down when more muscles burn more calories. Cardio specifically targets fat rather than muscles.
What about resistance training and walking? Roughly 2.5mph.
My wife used blue fat freeze system with a little bit of aerobic exercise and managed to reduce 2 inches around her waist in 2 months. She did her exercise in morning and used blue at night while watching tv. She looks great now but i’m not sure such a strategy will work on everyone. So consult your trainer if you guys are thinking of using blue as well.
I am so completely confused. I just want to lose 10 lb and tone up. I love running for the mental benefits but I don’t want to end up skinny and flabby…more slender and tone.
bro u have such an awesome brain and u have a nice sense of teaching..u knw well how to make peoples understand very easily
Yea no 1 likes cardio until they get into a fight and cant move for shit and gass out 20 seconds into throwing blows
Yes do cardio, you want to look good not big, you also want to be able to last long during sex, it has many benefits, do both
Great stuff man! I can tell you put a lot of effort into your videos:)
Hope you enjoyed this one! I’m here to help you save your gains in any which way possible . Comment below what you’d like to see next!
We’re not “body builders” and vain about having big muscles.
Exercise for health benefits and well being. This is not damn rocket science. People have lives and family. They don’t have time to be gym rats and stare at themselves in the mirror doing reps.
Any movement and exercise has benefits as opposed to sitting on the couch all day. It’s videos like this that discourage the good intentions of people trying to change their lives for the better.
This takes the fun and enjoyment of exercising.
Next: everything your doing wrong sexually!
How about cardio>weights>cardio than weights again on the same hour. Some how makes me hyped
Is resistance + cardio (as in skipping a lot…. Like a lot) gonna get me a better grip at Calisthenics?
Is using your body weight for strength training for abs considered as “weights” training?
Not everyone wants to build muscle. And to say a Marathoner can’t be fast is a joke.
Like you’ve mentioned, it all depends. Some will do cardio sessions for better running performance and others just to get the blood flowing in their body before weight lifting (to feel good and awake). Thanks for the videos:)!
Days I have an amount of time to lift, I like to do a 10 minute warm up on treadmill, stretch good, lift, and do a 10 minute cooldown. If I’m in a push/pull/leg split, I’ll do some mild cardio on days of pushing or pulling, but nothing on legs.
in my opinion if you gonna do cardio the same day as weights, do cardio first and after, feels great if you can do it….
Endurance and strength have different muscle types. Just because an endurance athlete looks lean and doesn’t have bulk doesn’t mean they don’t have muscle. If you enjoy the work out you do, then all respect. In the end, in order to last on your strength workouts, you need endurance.
So, obviously this is not common sense and I wish she didn’t say that.
What if I’m a wrestler? I want to maximize my strength and power, but I also need to be able to keep the pace during meets and tournaments
Admit it!
You are looking SO hard for an excuse to do only one instead of both!
Hey bro, great videos, would love to see you do a video on nutrition and what foods to avoid etc, included in it also, regarding supplements, what supplements do you recommend if any. Thanks man keep it up, you going to grow this channel big soon
The right cardio is done when you see your muscles full of fat.., then you are in the optimal moment to sweat..,
Great synthesis of the current research on the interference effect and presented with great practical takeaways. Thanks!
I always do cardio after weights even if its 5mims of jumping jets.. just to deplete more of my glycogen stores
Skaters are so fucked.. I can’t do my favorite hobby and gain mass without haveing to stuff my face lol
How to gain weight/get more ripped and not kill your gains in-season (football) tho?
Basically: how to continue improving my game (football) + get better conditioning for football BUT still gain muscle mass in the gym
Hmmm. What about after you finish your leg workout, you go back and do 200 reps of super light squats like 135lbs. Even if its 20 sets of 10. Keeps your heart rate up the entire time and it takes a while to get through.
lifting weights actually does pull from your fat stores more than you think. That is why people lose fat faster and get stronger. If all people did was walk fast or run then people would be skinny in like a few months. That is a total myth. In order to lose weight and change your body type you need strength training as well as cardio training. Goes hand in hand.
Welp, rip me. XC runner tryna get more lean with my muscle. Looks like all my gains about to go away…
Thanks for answering that some of us are new and I have no social media besides YouTube
As a calisthenic dude. I enjoy cardio alot, it helps me overall on my handstand time and overall hold exercises. Strong heart better helps your body, mind, focus, energy etc.
Definitely before the steroid injection. Also, you are on too much adderal, or too few mood stabilizers? That study was not valid, cite it you bias muscle bound bafoon.
This is dumb af guys. Listen here if you eat at a caloric deficit then don’t do cardio if you do then go for a fucking run listen to your body don’t do it before workout. Don’t fucking get caught up in. The ideology that you can’t gain muscle doing cardio it’s gay af
I have to do cardio before weight training, because I won’t do it after. I just hate cardio.
I do 30 minutes on 10 incline-3.2 speed and I do leg and arm workouts after than abs. I’m trying to lose weight 15 pounds and tone up. should I do my leg and arm workouts for 30 minutes than do the treadmill than abs for 30 minutes? please help if someone could comment a week routine of how I should split it up please do! thanks:)
I’m in high school so I work out in class. Then I eat lunch and rest at my house and then I go out and run when it gets dark
i love this contents ending with a question, and in the end you always get “it depends”.
Cardio = Awesome sex. Don’t believe me? Try it. Being a muscle bound hulk does not help in between the sheets. You need rock hard abs and balls to the wall cardio. Your girl will be thanking you
Do you take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife?
PictureFit: “It depends”
Pick up basketball and boxing are both high intensity exercises. Running still increases performance and endurance for both of these sports.. Remember the ability to sustain activity over long periods is also a part of fitness.
I couldn’t hear what she was saying throught the whole video… I wonder why
I dont understand any of this shit. Other guy says that and the other says that how am i supposed to reach my goal? I mean every human body parts reacts differently what food to eat how many carolies to take and burn. Other guy says carbs aren’t good for you and the other guy says yes carbs are good for you. And im so lost right now. I dont get it. Yes im a begginer i’ve been doing some calisthenic workouts but i haven’t lift before in my life (and i have a mixed of skinny fat and slim muscular looking body) cuz i could’nt afford a gym. Which calisthenic theres no lifting cuz its a body exercise. So please i need help and tips.
But if i do cardio 6 hours before lifting would that still effect my gains? With rest and eating as well in the meantime
I do more cardio like jump rope and running for boxing and but I also usually walk everyday towards the night I’m training to fight not have huge muscles
Would a longer run be better then as it’s at a lower intensity
What about short burst of hitting the heavy bag each time when I go to the gym? My goal is primarily mass gain.
Hi…This video helped me to see my goals more clearly…A question. The HIIT workout does it change every week.
I’m confused, does that mean I should skip on warming up before lifting the weights?
If you want a hot body: cardio exercises with fitness exercises combination,..
Thanks for this…have lost 60 lbs (252 192) over the last 6 months primarily for steady state cardio (eliptical), diet changes and fasting…loss included muscle, so now refocusing on strength training and less cardio…have been doing 1 hour strength training with HIIT cardio for 1/2 an hour for past 2 weeks, and results have been good…weight loss has slowed, but fat loss hasn’t and muscle coming back. I am 5’11″…goal is to be in the mid 180s with lean muscle mass….hopefully by October 1st.
I think boxers have the best balance. Many top boxers are ripped but also run for miles to enhance their endurance. You can find a good mix of the two.
It doens’t matter what everyone says but i loved your video. Thanks for the Advice..
I’m all shredded with 6 pack V-cut abs. You can watch my youtube videos.. So in general, I want to say that running is the main base for the weight loss. Of course if you want to lose weight ALL NATURAL way as I suggest ( #NoSupplements, #NoSteriods, #NoDrugs). Many people don’t like to do cardio/running on regular bases or don’t like to run at all but that is whole another story.
Hey guys, I know talking about crowdfunding and Patreon is never a fun topic… I’ll try my best to never overwhelm you guys with it. Even with just a dollar a month can help me out a lot! It’ll also help you skip that donut killing your gains If you truly enjoy and believe in this channel, please give the idea of contributing a thought so I can keep making quality vids for you guys. Please check it out on http://www.patreon.com/picturefit. Thanks for all the support so far! Love you guys ❤
What about doing cardio before and after? Like 20 minutos before and then 40 after.
“In order to be the best, I have to do cardio”
-Nasser El Sonbaty
People here talking shit, dude if you want balance just do cardio in the day you dont do weights and vice versa, stop going on the comments like “nah fuck cardio i wanna get huge” dude you cant even lift damn 4kg on your shoulder stop trash talking
What if I do my weight training session for muscle building and the next day I do some liss for fat loss? Would that work?
I am an Army doc and we Soldiers value rockin’ bods, but we have to run for our fitness test. Indeed, being a fast runner gives junior Soldiers promotion points. Would you consider doing an Army fitness training program on your website that focuses on maxing out the fitness test while optimizing gains?
My trainer has been working out and exercise for 30 years, this is the exact opposite of how he told me to train, it’s really confusing having so many work out tip videos online and available, everyone’s advice contradicts the video I watch prior.
this is great advice if you dont have a job or a life outside the Gym
Is there any problem in doing HIIT in the mornings and weight training in evenings?
im fuck up..im a teacher i logout 5pm…vacant 4-5 so i usually run around the school field(our school does not have gym) after logging out i eat…protein shake and banana..and i lift weights for 2hours…so no choice for me..i have to cardio first
Any recommendations what to do for a warmup before lifting then? my body feels kind of weird going straight into lifting. I do stretch abit
How about fighters? They’re kinda the masters of balancing them both. Howbare they doing it?
my main goal is to lose fat but i also want muscle mass so which should i do first? i like doing weights first more but i’m not sure.
Yo Greg, I had a question, is this straight training style optimal for athletes like me who play Tennis and basketball a lot. I know of course it is better than cardio for a long time but do you recommend doing a long distance run like once a week or two weeks to last longer when playing sports and just do resistance training on everything else? Thanks.
Can I just skip cardio? It is such a waste of time. 1 hour of cardio is only a few hundred calories
She is attractive but I don’t see a person who practices what she preaches. She doesn’t seem to have much as far as muscularity. She just looks like an average person. Sorry but I couldn’t take her serious as far as weight training.
I want to gain some weight cause my body is too skinny. Besides than adding up calorie, I have to exercise also right? What kind of exercise should I do?
Is there a way you can still optimize muscle building while being an athlete bc athletes have a lot of cardio
I have a question tho,if i do strength training and right after do a brisk walk for 30 min, does it affect my strength?
It also depends what your goals at the gym are.
For example, if you’re like me and running 20 miles a week with a priority on running, weights are naturally something done after running.
Likewise if your goal is to gain muscle mass, then doing cardio should be at the end of your gym session.
like and new subscriptions on this channel. I like this. do not be embarrassed to visit my friends channel. wait a warm greeting
If steady state cardio is bad are you telling me i can’t walk the days i lift
Now question is: what is cardio? Lot of people are involved in manual labour five days a week, do they need to do cardio at all?
I love how you include all the scientific evidence to back up your claims. You’re amazing, Jeremy. Keep up the good work!
I do cardio for endurance, powerlifting for strenght and a little bit of bodybuilding for aesthetics and isolating some muscles. I also jerk off with both hands to avoid mascular imbalances
Hello! Great video a lot of info… We’ll my question is, how recommendable is to alternate one set of a strength exercise with 45 sec of intense cardio exercise, like burpees? Thank you
I usually run for 30-40 min and after that I do homeworkout for arms, chest abs, back and legs. I try two combination per day like on Monday I will do arms and abs, Tuesday I will do chest and abs and on Wednesday I will do legs and back same order for next 3 days and on Sundays I rest. What do you think am I overdoing it?
I don’t want muscle loss, can you help?
I run for an hour at an speed 8.5km/h, than lifting weights. What should I do first?
Neither, do it separately. Used to do it after like everyone else, but now I wake up early and do cardio alone. I am much leaner now and feel so much better. If you cant wake up early, that’s on you.
If you have enough time early morning empty stomach with 500 ml warm water do cardio session for 30 minutes and evening do weights training
I lift weights one day and run 2 miles the other and I got muscle and I can run good
Is it possible to be good at all fields at the same time: ex. weightlifting, running and gymnastics?
Who else didn’t get anything because you were reading the comments?
You still need to do some cardio.. depending on your body type
I decided to not care about this and to do cardio whenever and however I wanted. I’m happier for it because cardio is fucking awesome.
I notice that when I walk at a 7.5 incline after weight lifting, I sweat way more than I would if I was on the treadmill for 30 mins. I have more energy going on the treadmill after than to go before. But I guess that’s just me
Can I do some light cardio in the morning and weight-training in the evening? Is it effective?
In Evolution men were runners or hunters,a muscle packed human would have struggled. Right protein substitution doing cardio is the right way.
Muscle means weight, the more weight the more heart problems.
Since human beings first stood upright and went looking for food the obvious process would be fasted cardio first, walking running rowing jumping during the hunt followed by the fight and the kill or digging swimming, climbing for roots seeds fruits before carrying the food back to the Palio camp to eat, if was good enough for them science boy, it’s good enough for me
Hi Erin and thank you for these great tips… I’ve also heard from other trainers that more water is a must, and that you should do strength training first then cardio. I just got back into working out and I feel sore but great, thanks again!:)
hey bro love your vids so far i was just wondering though if u could maybe talk a little bit slower and maybe add some pictures or examples to spice it up, no criticism intended:)
I Adore this video, thank you so much, you are an inspiration, this advice is so important!! I am female,..and now will follow you!! I have subscribed!!
Isn’t cardiovascular training, simply obtaining a heart rate between 55%-92% of your max heart rate with the intention of gaining increases in stroke volume and cardiac output and vO2? Isn’t strength training working the muscles to improve muscular strength & endurance, by either using weights, body weight or other equipment. No offenseYou clearly know what you are talking about, but I don’t feel the question is answered… I don’t see the need to explain the aerobic/anaerobic fuel sources
I always do cardio stuff after weights, but generally I run on completely different days. I want to go heavy when squatting and benching and doing shoulder presses, but I can’t if I just sprinted 5km or even if I ran slow. I keep my cardio and weight days separate:L
Jesus loves you people here is a prophecy so that you may know the Bible is really from God Hosea 6:2
2 After two days will He revive us: in the third day He will raise us up, and we shall live in His sight. 2 Peter 3:8
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The book of Hosea is written hunderd of years before Jesus first coming… In 1948 Israel is restored as i know and do you know what the second day its almost over and comes the third..
I kinda don’t understand all of this. Its so complicated. Like personally i just want to be in shape, and i workout but i need and want to run each day. I dont care about these massive muscles. Like im sure I will lose weight faster if i run and workout together instead of neither. I always like to jog and workout in the morning. Cardio is how you build better endurance and have a better heart. Doing all this muscle stuff is just gonna make me stiff and probably more hungry and not lose weight. I can still get stronger than most people doing more cardio. Literally every answer i look for is just about muscles, for once can i grt an actual answer instead of this response thst makes it sound like rocket science
Great video.. Not too long, includes everything thats important on this topic and you explain everything very well and understandable even for non native speaker.. You deserve a lot more follower
I usually use cardio to warm up my body before I start my lifting guess I’ll stop that
Funny thing is this guy has the body type I want. I don’t want to be super yolked and bulky, but I still want some muscles.
I get more energetic when I do cardio first..then I go for weights…. can I do that…
People do cardio for losing weight? What about athletes who need cardio for fitness.
I hate assumptions that people who work out just want to be huge or skinny
Wake up meditate then yoga. Drink chamomile tea get “mindful”. Walk two miles, run 8-10. Shower go to work. Get home start light yoga then take pre-workout. Get your sets in maybe more then walk 1 mile, run 5 miles, walk 2 miles. Shower, sleep, repeat 6 days a week. Sunday is for mowing grass and cleaning the house.
So I do both strength training and running for cardio. how many miles and how many ideas is enough. currently I’m 4 to 5 days a week 3 to 7 miles depending on time. this is one thing I can’t seem to figure out.
i find it difficult to understand. iam kind of overweight and i don’t know if i should lose fat first and then build muscle or build muscle first then cardio.
Thanks for not yell/talking anymore. I can watch your vids again:)
Ion know about yall. But im an athlete and this video actually helped me realize that i dont really have to worry about cardio as much as i thought i did. I mean in football, you need some endurance on the field. But strength and speed is what u need. Good vid bro. (Ik strength and speed isnt all football is)
I thought doing cardio on an empty stomach in the morning is the best way to burn fat because insulin is relatively low. Lift in the evening hours is better.
The reason I go for cardio first is that I need the warming up for my body to not get injured.
Always cardio last. I want to use most of my strength on lifting that will make the most difference. If I do cardio first I can’t lift as much after.
I am not human, I am a Trevor the human.
-Amir
True. Too much cardio makes you lose muscle. I was 280lbs in wrestling with strength. I lost weight weighing 216 and lost my strength to even do a rep of benching 80lbs. still working on my strength
I been watching this channel for a year and now I just realised I haven’t subbed to this channel lol
Brad Pitt’s physique in Fight Club is proof that eating in a mild deficit while lifting weights and doing cardio = a body most men want
Hey Bro, I want you to talk about Keto diet and callisthenics…
weights first then cardio, however it can depend on your preferences and goals. you can also swtich it and do each one on different days or different hours to improve perfomance since you will have more time to recover
Hey Jeremy,
Questionfor higher impact cardio, would it affect you overall or only impede with the muscle recovery related to lower body workouts?
I have been trying sprints, but main goal is gains. Hoping for some feedback from you.
Thanks, T
Damnn i always did cardio as a warm up when gyms were open, Jeremy, you are literally the bestt resourcee
OOOR then you do cardio weights and MORE CARDIO. thats what i do on cut
Thank you for sharing. These are great tips. Some comments often chose to focuse on body image other than her talent.
Change your name from PictureFit to MaybeFit. All of your vids seem to end with maybe or depends.
This is great information, weight training then cardio got it!
What if i do shoulders and lats Monday.. Tuesday cardio Wednesday weights Thursday cardio Friday weights Saturday cardio.. Will it still kill gains?
I used to do cardio 4 times a week and was completely shattered all the time, I now do cardio once a week and 3 weight training sessions and have lots more energy
one question I want to ask is what training should I follow if want a bit lean body
Strength training is obviously a must but its all I did in football, now I’m enlisting in the army and I’m trying to cut back on the lifting and increase cardiovascular endurance for pt. Its good to keep a balance between endurance and power. Everyone is different but my opinion is that training like a fighter will give you the most balance in terms of fitness. Not alot of mass but explosive strength, speed, balance, flexibility and endurance for days.
I was literally shocked when he rolled down the hill and heard the sound pop. ;DD
Aftee doing strength training I find cardio too difficult. So shall I do cardio first? Because after doing cardio I can still do strength training but the reverse is not true for me. please suggest.
it’s not counterproductive if its gonna take a little longer to build more muscle. The idea is your body is spending the time to also build your cardio so of course, it will take longer to build pure muscle. But how useless are you if you just build muscle. If you wanna move shit and be strong in real-life scenarios, do your cardio. Not hating on you Jeremy, I think you did a good job of looking at both sides.
My gym is 45 minutes away from home and I go there walking. Does it affect my gains?
Dear person who clearly has not studied human metabolism, that introductory comment regarding the burning of fat is utterly false. Fat is not considered to be a primary source of fuel. Eh.
he really tells you, weigt training would make you loose more weight than running??? naw sorry. it makes you more buff, but defenetly not loose weight betta
If you wanna add some cardio at the end of your workout, just lift the weights a little faster. Pro timesaving tip 😉
If you are still confused about it and worried about muscle mass don’t worry just make sure you eat enough and if you are doing cardio what I did for a week is workout for an hour and then go on the treadmill afterwards for 20 minutes
is cycling to work 10miles one way every day going to kill gain then?
I totally agree! But unfortunately most folks do not understand the intensity it takes while weight training to change body composition so doing cardio sometimes benefits more. Because otherwise all they do is talk and hang out. Do a video explaining how intense the weight training must be.
I do 30 minutes on 10 incline-3.2 speed and I do leg and arm workouts after than abs. I’m trying to lose weight 15 pounds and tone up. should I do my leg and arm workouts for 30 minutes than do the treadmill than abs for 30 minutes? please help if someone could comment a week routine of how I should split it up please do! thanks:)
Wow! Thanks for.the tip. Strength training first and then cardio.

Does any of the rules apply if I am doing cardio immediately after body weight training.
Doing upper body weight training and playing Soccer soon after, for one hour is it going to hinder muscle gains?
I’ll be rendom as fuck, but where did you buy your gray shirt?
I lift more after doing my cardio first. Idk thats just me though. I get really pumped after some good clean cardio
what about football/soccer players then? how would they gain size and strength while having speed and explosiveness at the same time?
I don’t think there is a right or wrong answer to this…its all about what works best for you…..I do my cardio before weight training because my legs will cramp up if I do it after
I am currently training pull ups and one arm one leg push ups(Yep, my back is too weak compared to chest and delts) in a grease the groove/high volume/ controlled overreaching fashion which has given me gains that defies logic lol, so I must start the day with 600 jumping jacks and then do the rest of the exercises…
Worked fine… In a month I am down from 24 percent body fat to 18 percent body fat(because I can see my abs), while increasing my one arm push ups and pull ups by 40-50 percent, in a month.
If you have limited time you do what you must do, life won’t always be fair and you won’t always be able to make time for everything to be optimal, but that doesn’t mean you don’t do nothing, that’s stupidity.
Well, my coach recommended to go do cardio first and then weights. He said that if you start the other way around, then you’ll lose muscle gains from doing cardio; thus, making it harder to bulk up.
So basically I was wrong, you need to have a good diet but no cardio
I fucked up my ac joint i’m so sad i cant left any more
Yo, I’ve been doing 10 miles every day, I had no ideo that was killing my gains.
I have a stepper (like this one: https://www.decathlon.be/fr/p/stepper-ms100/_/R-p-151811?mc=8528697), but I wanna know if making stepper is a low intensity cardio
What if you don’t eat anything before, but immediately after? Would it be okay to run before?
It’s better gains like a fighter on the ring (strong heart, power, ripped, fast, endurance) rather than gains like a Mr. Olympia (strong muscle, big, slow and very weak for cardiovascular activity)…Doing cardiovascular exercises is very good, but it is not mean you should do only running.. You can choose powerful exercises such as Slam Ball total body workout etc.
I always run first instead of lifting first, mostly because I jus wanna get it out the way but I guess I need to switch it up.
I have really muscular calfs just because i do cardio every 2 days so that means that cardio builds gains
Cardio help you win a fight LOL, you try to slug it out for one min straight
Cardio last is definitely more important if you’re looking to cut fat. Use weight training to burn through your glycogen levels. So that when you do cardio your body has no choice but to burn fat. You’ll notice that you’ll sweat a ton more when you do cardio last. If your goal is size only and bulk then it really doesn’t matter when you do cardio. It won’t “kill your gains”. I hate just how maligned cardio has become in today’s fitness world. It’s absolutely essential.
As a certified PT with ACE and years of experience I’m here to tell you that this video is not well made with bad points. I’m not here to pick out every wrong point he made but do your cardio B4 lifting weights if you dont want it to touch your gains. Doing any type of cardio AFTER lifting weights you will guarantee affect your gains. Basic knowledge and i do cardio for 2 hours before lifting. So no it doesn’t affect your gains the longer you do it but the harder you do it yes for a longer amount of time you will burn your muscle. You need to be more specific
Im going to start working out(weight training/lifting) then cardio after like a video i watched suggests but im going to do it on a empty stomach. Im fasting last meal at around 10pm and wont eat again until around 8-10pm the next day. Is this a good idea for fat lost. Anyone can tell me what they think or share their experience
As an athlete I couldn’t imagine skipping cardio just to have a slightly sharper look body, who wants to be jacked but not able to clear a 6 minute mile? It just seems fake to me but HEY just my personal opinion, everyone’s got different priorities
Never seen any peer reviewed evidence that aerobic exercise impacts anaerobic gains or even anaerobic capacity
whats the soundtrack starting at 2:55? i wanna use that while working out its badass
Can i running and wait training dally routine
Any loss from our body
It’s funny when people think marathon running is “cardio.” Even marathoners do “cardio” aside from distance running. Some of us train for function, not just aesthetics.
hey mate. awesome videos.
I think you should shoot in front of static backgrounds, the guy fishing in the back is pretty hard on the eyes after cuts:P
I used to do 15 min jogging in the morning and pulls, pushs& lifts in the evening.
Thanks for that, if I may ask.. the trainer in the gym I go to said that I should do cardio first because I should warm the muscles up, especially that I’m recovering a rotation cuff injury to avoid any more harm or pain while lifting.. so is what he’s saying correct? shouldn’t we warm up on the treadmill/elliptical trainer for like 15 minutes?
Thanks in advance, I hope you answer the question:D
In short do them separately for the most optimal results, and weights first if you need to do them on the same day. Simple
I usually just walk to my gym once i got in 2000 calories (3kms) do my weights then jog home followed by 1000 calories. Seems to work for me
Is it true that performing cardio before exercise improves endurance??
I got a question wat about swimming that hasn’t been touched on that it’s a low load on joints and water is over 700 times more dense than air so it would be classed as a resistance training aswell so would that kill you gains if done on the same day after power or hypertrophy traning or will it just add to then since swimming is resistive
I was playing the video but wasn’t really paying attention lol went straight comment section
Is doing push ups and sits ups every day bad for you? As well as running? I’m trying to get to 200 push ups, not all at once, and I run 8 mi and I increase that by 20% each week.
Strength and cardio training should be done both cause we need strength and endurance in our lives.
So, who value functionality and health over pure looks do both!
I love treadmills, they keep the mindless idiots occupied and away from the squat rack.
Thanks to all of these NPC’s, the squat rack is almost always free for me to use.
Why fix that which isn’t broken?
Hi Mounir
I’d put only picture on thumbnail without any text, since you have title for your header.
Everything else is perfect, keep it up!
I just love running i use to do cross country but i want to build muscle now so i still want run quite a bit of miles wtf do i do????
You are too scrawny to be giving anyone advice sorry. Fuck science if the results look like you. Un subbed
You talk hot air and have the body of peewee herman. If your physique backed it up?..well. Sorry sunshine. Not interested. I’m out
I lift and do cardio everyday. Even if I’m losing some gains, I’m ok with that. I can breath when I walk & im not fat….
Cardio not important..pay no attention to the treadmill behind me
If I’m a footballer I want to build muscle but I also want to increase my endurance and stamina on the pitch. Which do I do?
Confident speaker. The only youtuber who tells the truth.
This is bullshit. Sell this theory to MMA athletes they will laugh at you
Great info. I am glad that I finally heard it from u. Weight training first before cardio is best. wow!!! Learn something new everyday. I luv it!!
LOL why is it always either or. All this is prioritizing: For weightloss start with eating right, permanent changes to your diet that you can keep up for the rest of your life. Don’t go on weird diets improve your existing diet systematically.
Do strength training and personally I like to think focus on where you have the most fat, your ass or your hips or your belly or your upper arms. People have lives even if they’re fat that can’t be put to a halt sometimes. So yeah try to prioritize and get some strength training there.
Again. Permanence is key. You will probably have to do this the rest of your life, because the environment we live in where we sit 75% of our day behind a desk or in the car there is just more opportunity to gain weight than we would lose it. So do something you can stick to.
I would fit in cardio last once you’re comfortable with the routine with the first two.
Hope you’re recovering well after your surgery, sir. Great video, and looking forward to the next live Q&A. Btw, I don’t have Facebook or any social media so is there a way to know when the next live Q&A is? Thank you for all of your effort sir!
