I’m a big 300 lb. guy who has suffered with chronic lower back pain for 5 years..I try my best to stretch and do some of these every morning before getting out of bed,..as I cannot get down on the floor, nor I would never be able to get up… I hurt all day long and it is impossible for me to walk alone, without two canes or a walker…I am 79 years old in a few days, and realize I have to try to get more mobile..I do not want to be wheel-chair bound for what-ever time I have left in this old life….Thanx for your demonstrations an will try them first thing tomorrow morning…Robert Smith Bradford Ontario..Canada.,,,

Having had surgery for my scoliosis many years ago, I find a number of these poses difficult to do. My spine is fused through the middle of my back. The twists are challenging, and cobra and the lifting pose on the belly are nearly impossible. Any suggestions for alternate poses that can be done to stretch and strengthen the back? I do love your videos, so it may just be a matter for trying a different video altogether.

Hi Adriene. I have a wish, and I hope I am not the only one. Like a lot of people I have sclerosis. Exercise, and ou challenges are the same. Some Van get medicin to help, like secondery sclerosis and others cannot. That is the primeir sclerosis.
So it is different pressure. If you like me have the primeir kind, there is no cure so I have to fight.

Oh my god. I have always been able to get into a deep squat but it has NEVER been easier or more comfortable to get into/ be in a deep squat before! 3 hours after this session

I have mild scoliosis but have no pain. I only started having pain on the left side of my back (and sometimes lower back) AFTER I started doing yoga. Unfortunately, I read that most yoga postures are not good for scoliosis. Hopefully, this works:)

I am 28 years old.I have undergone a surgery for my L4 and L5 discs 5years ago. Their was a bulge in my disc and they had to cut off the blug in disc area. And I came to know that I had scoliosis then.I had a slight deflection. Can I do this exercise???? and get rid of scoliosis?? Is it safe? To do because I have undergone a surgery

I was recently just diagnosed with scoliosis at the age of 25 (all thanks to getting xrays taken at my workI just recently started a new job at a chiropractors office!). My diagnosis shook me to my core, I had absolutely no idea I had it and just thought my back pain was normal. I recently started getting adjusted at work and have been really sore as my body starts to shift into new places that it hasn’t been in years! This practice helps tremendously relieve my pain and I’m easily able to make slight modifications as needed. Thank you so much, Adriene!
I hope I’m not the only one that is doing this for the first time (and actually had scoliosis surgery 5 years ago) and can’t do all the poses right. It actually hurts to bend my back completely in most of the poses, but I guess I just need more practice, thank you for posting this Adriene:)

Hi Adreine! My lower spinal cord went straight and I’m really thankful for you. But I stop doing this 1 month ago because of my hectic days at work. Then later on I found out that I have a sway back posture, I don’t know but it looks weird and it was my normal posture everytime I stand up. So do you have a yoga routine for sway back posture? I’ve search here in youtube and there’s a lot exercises for that, this was also called “Anterior Pelvic Tilt”, but it feels that my body will be much worse if I follow them even though almost all APV exercises are same but I went to your channel first because your yoga is definitely a real treatment and you’re the one that I only trust since my scoliosis was healed because of your yoga video. I’m hoping for you to upload a yoga video for sway back posture. Thanks.

I’ve been told by doctors and therapists (since I have scoliosis) to avoid twisting and bending my torso with poses such as the cobra and half moon and any variation of them….. but I see some in here. Before I try any of this, I would like to what kind of knowledge you have in this particular illness, to be able to recommend and encourage this routine? I’m looking for alternatives and options.

I love your yoga videos and have purchased several of your courses. Sadly I had to stop doing yoga several years ago because my hypermobility got a lot worse and I was having joint pain. I’ve been trying to get started again but there’s so many poses I’m afraid to do now when my joints are less stable and I keep messing up the flow when I skip and replace moves with other ones. It would make me so happy if you could do a yoga class for us hypermobile yogis with only poses and moves that are low-risk for us. I would instantly buy a course like that if it was avaliable.:)
