Thank you for this strengthening practice! Simba is adorable! My pup, Nala (:) ), loves to join me for my practices as well!
chatarunga is so hard….hard, all of this is so hard. but worth the challenge. ASWESOME
Your arms are hyperextending in the upward facing dog. It can cause irreversible damage:)
this was perfect and exactly what i was looking for, for an upper body strengthener. thank you thank you!!
Thanks very much for the video! Quick question though: my elbows naturally turn outwards the same yours do here (for example in plank) and I am never quite sure whether that’s ok for the joints etc. or whether I should “force” them to be in a straighter alignment (where I then seem to have less strength though). What do you think? Hope my question made sense:)
I cant even do a pushup and you expect me to do this?! xD
Update: Halfway through I started crying because it hurt so bad and blamed myself for not being able to do half the stuff. Shaking. Feel like if i do this everyday all my inner anger will either go away or get to the point where im gonna smash everything and everyone around me. This can not be healthy…
Short and sweetly intense! More like this for other areas of the body please! ♀️
I let the biggest gasp out when he did the handstand. Anyway.. subscribed:)
I want to do this sequence live with a class! When are you coming to Brisbane Australia?
My arms are very thin, so shall I practice these yoga poses? Will they grow?
This flow was great because I really need to work on strengthening my shoulder…shoulders/arms/back/etc. I keep dislocating it trying to do handstands, but I also just have a faulty shoulder.:/ Anyways, I love this instructor.:)
I Never liked yoga until recently. Now I can honestly say I just love the benefit.
I’m doing a 30 day yoga challenge and so far I have done one of his videos every day. Today is day 15 and this was hard!! I love the challenge though!
Thanku so much I did it today and it’s really gonna help me in my yoga
My question would be how the fuck can I get to the point were I can do this, not “what can I do with my already strong arms”… I will use this video as a challenge tho:)
The quarantine made me come back to this video! Amazing practice! Thank you!
I absolutely just adore you. As a beginner Yogi, you make it an easy and peaceful environment. And I love the dog!
Oh my days that was a fierce workout! I still have some way to go but every day there is progress:)
Awesome. I kept up with you, but the one-sided crows and the handstand just show I have ways to go. Great video. Great teaching. Namaste!!!
My wrists are very weak and I couldn’t do a lot of this but I am trying to be forgiving and hopeful that if I continue showing up they will get stronger!
Ok, you cannot put an handstand like that in the middle of the the practice!!! Lol! I can’t do that either with the wall and a psychologist on the side cheering me and supporting!!! Lol
Great challenge for the arms indeed!
However, i found it quite hard to keep up with your fast instructions and could not focus on the breathing at all while crunching my neck peeking at the video because i was not getting any useful pose tips.
Btw, the release feels muuuch better if you try to keep b o t h shoulders flat on the floor.
I love that Simba is in the room when you flow. I’m a mum of two boys and it is very rare that I manage to do anything without them coming to find me.:)
You have hyperflexible joints and are resting all your weight on the elbow joint in upward-facing dog, it shouldn’t be popping out like that and it doesn’t help strengthen the muscles. Remember to slightly bend the elbows and press the fingers down I really wish teachers would raise more awareness about hyper-mobile joints as it’s one of the leading causes of elbow and knee pain in asana classes. Namaste
Awh, Cat, Simba is adorable (yay for adopting a rescue)! Thank you for this practice, it was really lovely and yummy for my arms. Dolphin dips are so killer.. I used this as a quick wake up flow and I’m feeling energized and my muscles are definitely activated. Love the alignment tips and your teaching is always on point, regardless of unsettled pups ‘bouncing around’ . Namaste!
Holy crap Adriene…. that was so hard. I’m going to be ripped by the end of June lol
yo crazy bro awesome loved it my arms feel like i did crazy biceps wait nice saving this for shore in my collection of my yoga journey.
Short and yummy, really need to do this 3 more times but for now thank u Adriene for this lovely practice hope everyone is safe much love Namaste and good night ❤
Hi u are awesome. Love this class. Will work my way to getting stronger arms. How do you breath in yoga? Is it inhale through the nose exhale through the nose? I get confused how to breathe in yoga and in Pilates. I’m new and would like to start properly.
Thank you! This felt more yoga like than some of the yoga practices that incorporate specific muscle groups for results. I am a slightly underweight female who has next to no arm strength, so I was glad to hear it was a challenge haha. I did do most of it though, but couldn’t do the 10 side planks that was too fast for me! Must have been the involvement of balance. I’ll get there with the push up type stance as well…with time:)
Found this challenging and had to pause the video for many breaks. My wrists hurt a lot and I got frustrated. However, I took deep breaths, did wrist stretches, and listened to Adriene’s positive comments. I can see a huge mentality shift from 2 weeks ago when I started Yoga With Adriene 30 days challenge. Thank you Adriene!!!!
You just got yourself a new subscriber! FAV YOGA VID EVER!!!
this it’s so frustrating because I do have some upper body strength but my wrists can’t take the pressure and it hurts so so much
Good thing is i went with you all the way to the last childs pose. Was a great challenge….
Thnks a lot. Thought i had enough arm strength….not until i followed this video,am sweating hard bro, thnks
you make it look so easy..I feel like my Arms are too weak for arm stand and crow pose:(
This is a lil more advanced than I’m able but this was superrr fun to do!
Wow! great! Patrick… Imagine I would do Yoga exclusively. Do you know pulling motions for the upper back? How could I built them into a yoga practice? so I probably could merge my Calishtenics with Yoga finally so I have not to separate them… All the best, Norman
i think you’re gonna be my third favorite yoga channel after Kino yoga and Boho beautiful
I was finally able to make it through the entire workout without stopping!
Upper body strength, let’s find out whether that’s something I have…. oops
Wow that was intense in a good way! Going to make my own challenge doing that
Was not expecting it to be that tough until the hand stands and crow pose! I can barely do crow pose, will definitely have to revisit this one. Will probably have to modify the hand stands with head stands as well. Right now I can do head stands only with wall assist.
I have this fear of pitching forward while doing a handstand and crashing forward. Worse is one of my arm buckle and I crash down to my side injuring myself. I didn’t think yoga could be this dangerous for my body.
I know this is an old vid, but just wanted to share my comments right after doing it and see if anyone else has this issue. I’m a slightly regular, on/off yogi, and I always find it extremely difficult to do push ups/ planks for one painful reason my wrists. I try my best to press into my finger prints but it doesn’t seem to help. Any tips or ideas out there?
Will this yoga help in losing flabby arms? I have stubborn fat around my arms. Being a girl its so embarrassing to have huge arms.. Plz reply me
To intense for me.. it the second time that I practice since I stopped 2 years ago
Phew! I needed the heat and the venting off right this moment! All good now! Namaste dear Adriene.
You make everything enjoyable, accessible, and fun. Thank you Adriene!
Brush that is intense.. I stopped at 7 minutes for today. Work my way up
Jesus that was hard… but step by step, I love how yoga is sort of a metaphor for life
You rush a bit through it. Not that you’re too fast, but your movements do not seem very mindful.
Until this video, I was critical of yoga workouts as most of them gave me enjoyable stretching and progress but this one really did a number on me. Great work, man!
I’m proud of myself for making it to the end, but I had to do some serious modifications after 7:00.
I’m super angry because you, but very greatfull at the same time for my incredible results
=D
Wow, that was hard! But glad I attempted it! I’ll try it again next week. A question I can only do the side plank and the touching opposite shoulders plank bit with my elbows completely locked it’s the only way I can hold it up at all (and even then only for a short time). Does this mean I shouldn’t attempt it? Any suggestions for a good way to modify or build up to it? (So far I’ve been dropping to my elbow for side plank.)
listen bro i m suffering from soclioses can i able to do this exercise
I don’t see this in other yoga videos where they show how to warm up your wrists. this is a good note.
I love building strength. When it’s time for child’s pose really well timed this month of courage.
I am having trouble doing arm balances because my upper body needs more strength! Please make more upper body strength videos!
Thanks Adriene! Wow that was a tough one but I enjoyed it:-)
I really came back to this calander today for this video. I love this video.I seriously downloaded the video so that i can do it anytime…love love adriene, I love you the most ️️
thank you so much but for now I still can t find my arm strenght for this sequence
Thank you Adriene for this wonderful practice upper body definitely feeling the heat! I love the variety of practices you offer, and the gentle encouragement x
For the first time I just managed to do the entire video in full plank! Me! I did full press ups! I’m so happy! I think I’m on about day 90 or something, and I tried to do this at the beginning and was rubbish at it. But practice really does pay off. Who knew that if you keep at something you get better?! Haha I would normally have given up by now. Thank you Adriene!
I was frustrated when I first started this practice but I kept doing it a few times a week and it’s been a few weeks now…I can get through the whole thing and hold the side planks at the end for a long time…I also can do the shoulder touches without moving my hips! I’m so proud!
Does anyone else have wrist problems? Especially when I’m doing the 90 degrees I hear some crackling and it feels uncomfortable (not necessarily painful) and I feel like it’s compromising my form. Any tips?
came back for the third time to this practice and for the first time was able to hold 15 seconds on each side in bakasana, feeling of satisfaction keeps motivation to torture this body haha
Thank you 😉
Why is this tiny short practice the hardest one I’ve done haha
My chin just hit the floor when I saw THE FLOAT to the back of the mat at around 7min in. I just hobble…
I am all the way in Zimbabwe and was told of your site by a friend in Portugal! I absolutely love your sessions. Thankyoufor the inspiring and uplifting way you teach us. My whole family are enjoying yoga with Adrienne!
Am I the only one who’s kneecaps are moving?? Doing the half pushups
Wow! I’m already struggling at 03:32…. Not my level (yet?). I feel like I should just keep practicing this short vinyasa at the beginning for a while and hopefully progress towards the following minutes… ( 03:57 being my goal – but that’s gonna take FOREVER!)
Thank you, Adriene. Love your show.
Doing this practice as part of June2020’s calendar, Courage. Boy howdy, and how.
Pandemic and protests.
Looters and arrests.
It takes courage to do activities of daily living, like get groceries.
Somebody else said it best, with these pushups, I just keep saying to myself, Michele Obama over and over again.
i could not do a push up to save my life but now, i can finish this yoga practise, thank you so much Adriene <3
Here in June 2020. This was exactly what I needed to fire up my arms. Thanks Adriene!
first of all thank you i love taking your classes! i thought the class demanded exactly the right amount of effort. i couldnt do it all what allowed me to get to my edge and learn to do what i can for myself. but i thought that it was miissing transitions like i think that sun sanitations maybe with long planks and other additions would have make it fill more like yoga and less like a work out at the jim. but again thank you so much i love your classes! sorry for the english mistakes. NMASTE
Thank you Adrienne, I felt so happy during the practice!
My arms are strong BUT when i try to like do a hand stand or something I cant
This was amazing ❤️ I started doing yoga like 6 months ago.. I could barely do what u did in this video at that point of time.. And today I could practice more than half of it.. Thats quite a strength and improvement… Thank you so much for this video.. M on my way to improvising and make better my practice..u were great.. Thanks, thanks, thanks ❤️❤️❤️
Only she can make us do this without crying❤
Arms are sore.. Sweating like hell.. But happy because she is the one who made us do this.. Love ❤
(P.S. when she said let’s do this for one more minute I was literally like someone is reading my death certificate )
I adore you ❤️ the way you teaching and sharing all your energy is just incredible. Thank you ❤️
Now if I wasn’t just in the midst of a hideous “mind storm” at this precise moment, there is NO WAY IN HELL I EVER would have survived this practice!!! But, as it was, I was SO GRATEFUL for it!!!! ✨
this was hard for me, couldn’t do all of it the first time, but if I tried it six months ago I would have stopped after five minutes lol
great lesson though, I’m gonna come back until I can do it whole without struggling
Ariene I have seen a huge improvement in my strength from taking this class a few times.
How do I take the pressure off of my wrists when doing planks(especially side planks)? My wrists hurt sometimes:(
Love Love Love this routine so much! I can feel my arms and shoulders getting stronger! Thank you so much!!!
This was so good, Thanks Adrienne. I was never able to do more than 2-3 push ups at a time in 90 or 45 degree, but somehow I was able to do it today. The breathe in and out helped too!:)
Do you do other sport or train with weight? Or your body is so amazing only with yoga?
This is what I was looking for Cat! Thank you for these nice tips! Don’t worry about Simba, we love to have him around!
Hi Adriene!! I LOVE your yoga sessions. They’re the only thing that gets me on my mat at home I’ve recently started boxing and am DEAD. It would be totally amazing if you could do a yoga for boxers video All my love. Lise
I’ve been doing yoga for last 2 years on and off with yoga with aidrene. And it has changed my life in ways I never thought was possible. When I went from high school to university in the first year I gained a hell lot of insecurities, weight and lost self confidence completely and then when I found you. No kidding I literally found you when I needed yoga the most in my life. I was never a big yoga lover but since I found you I’ve fallen in love with yoga. It took loads of time and effort but finally I feel like I’m on the right path of finding my true self. I gain way more confidence that I ever thought I could have, still working on my insecurities but I will reach there soon. I lost a lot of weight and also started making healthier choices in food which was so unlike me before. I am calmer and more optimistic than I ever was and finally after all this time I feel like my life is falling into place. There are still ups and downs but I’m stronger than ever and I know I can get through it.
I’ve been doing daily yoga in this quarantine and built so much strength in my body. No matter what I haven’t skipped a day because I know yoga is my safe place, it makes me feel happier and so much better. All the changes that I’ve mentioned before took almost 2 years to take action but it’s all worth it.
What made me think about all of this was the fact that I was never strong in my arms, like never. I never could do push-ups at all and Today I did this practice completely without taking a break and in full plank that is an achievement in my diary.
Thank you so much Adriene for being you and for transforming so many people’s lives including mine.
Also I never comment on videos but I just had to you’re literally incredible you are the biggest reason for me finally being on my path of finding my authentic self and finally loving myself for who I’m. ❤️
“I love you all. Namaste.” Whew, talk about tough love! I’m kinda irked but hey, no, I’m not I swear my arms LOOK BETTER from that. lol Thanks, Adriene!:)
This is your meanest video! $?!# But, I love you for it. ♀️
I am unable to do side crow. Your video is helpful. I will get there for sure….
Had skipped this practice so tried pairing it with today’s practice of “balancing ocean flow” that these both will be easy breezy and I’ve never been so wrong. Feeling on fire already
These yoga sessions have been amazing. I started with the 30 days home and continued on from there.. its been 2 and a half months now. I have honestly noticed a big mental and physical difference in my body and mind. This workout really helped with my progress of trying to get to 50 push ups a day!
I am sweating!! This was great fun and Andrew is such an encouraging teacher. Couldn’t do all the moves but managed more than I thought I was capable of
I could barely do until 10 minutes. I need to work on some pushups and that crow. It looks like I have a new challenge to overcome e.e
COURAGE Day 4 in the bag! I can do more pushups than I’ve ever been able to do in my life bc of you. I used to lift weights all the time and I thought that made me strong, but I’ve never actually been stronger than I am now!
That was awesome! Week 1 of your videos for me, every day absolutely loving it! Can feel how much more flexible and easy my joints are, no more burning sensations in my knees when crouching… Keep up the good work brother!
Dude I hate you right now, but yeah that was nice one! Thanks
Jeepers. Proud of myself that I got through this session…but that was indeed a clever way of getting me to do pushups.
Thank you!!! It was challenging but good. We love Simba!!!! Sarah and Ilaria
was confused between this challenge and another one that’s 45 minutes and i thought i was taking it easy, I’m glad i chose this one❤️
Thank you Adriene!
I first did this practice nearly at the end of April, and oh what a fail it was haha! So I decided to take a May pushups challenge, and today I’m back to check how it evolved. Well, I’m so glad I can now do proper pushups (still on the knees haha). Great challenge. Hang in there everyone! Namaste
day 4 of courage. Thank you for reminding of listening to my body when I was nearly to give up.
Pheeeew this one was tough! Conclusion: I need to insist on this video XD
I usually hate doing arms because my arms are fairly week. This practice left me feeling strong. This is a new response to an arm workout for me and I’m just so happy. Thank you, Adriene <3
not only helped my arms but lifted my spirit I was feeling blue
Whoooo boy!! My arms feel that!! In the best way, though <3 Thank you Adriene! Namaste.
Woo hoo! Day 4/30 in June’s COURAGE practice DONE!
Thanks Adriene!
Enjoyed that laser-focused workout. Should we always end with a shivasana even if you don’t? And do you recommend our combining this one with a workout for lower body strength? Benjie seems extremely relaxed. Has he achieved yoga master status?
A really cool workout! My arms haven’t felt this good and strong for a really long time❤️❤️❤️
New to yoga! My wrists hurt a lot after this one. Any tips??
As a somebody who has done yoga for several years very impressed by the gymnastic style yoga practice. I would like to comment that the alighnment of the practice is not purer, a rounded back in down dog for example. Very good strength practice.
13 minutes, my friends. Today’s new practice is short and invites your Sadhana in with a certain kind of magic. Are you in?
You kind of remind me of Lilly James lol. Thanks for the awesome workout!
This is the first video I have watched on your channel and I have to say, I always have trouble following yoga videos, but the pace of this one is perfect! Thank you for this awesome video, and Simba is adorable (would have no issues with him making an appearance in every video).
Dear Cat, first day of holiday had to start doing good for my body and soul. Did Yoga 25 years ago and enjoyed it. Now my muscles hardly exist and are stiff. Breathing is the only thing I can do well, because I sing. Your video brought me joy and I will try to do this more☺️♀️ Probably never gonna be as flexible and strong as you, but improvement has to be the goal
Frustrating practice perfect opportunity to lean in and observe.
great upper body strength yoga practice session…. totally loved it
It might interest you to know that yoga of the right arm invokes the “breakers”, demons with the heads of cats You do see now how dangerous yoga is and how you have been used by unclean spirits, correct? Yeshua forgives, but the “breakers” have no mercy.
I need to do this one at least once a week! Although at one point I did yell “Adriene!” in my best Rocky voice. Lol. I’ll be sore tomorrow! Love it!
That is one cute assistant! Thanks for another great flow, Cat. I regularly hit the gym but wanted to do a little more spiritually grounding work before doing so today. (I just find a strong yoga flow to be perfect for this. Sometimes, I need two.) Simba is lovelyyou are both so lucky to have each other!
Just followed this sequence for the very first time. By the end of it I felt both exhausted and exhilarated. Especially during the portion I was touching my hands to my shoulders in full plank. Also, I did a side plank for the first time in my whole life, and I had no idea I was able to do that. Thank you Adriene for showing me that my body is stronger than I thought!
When I try do forearm dolphin i end up practically in headstand….
Horrible timing… you keep the pose, god knows for how long!! 5 sec are approximately 10 sec… you keep talking, but you loose the timing.
I thought this would be easy as it’s “only” 13 minutes. I was wrong #30daysofbeinghumbled
This is awesome!! I love how each person can modify this for their own level and still have something to work up to. It tests strength and endurance and it’s customizable. Thank you SO much! This is exactly what I was looking for! Plus your personality (and Simba’s) are awesome too!
My first attempt at yoga! I’m about as flexible as a plank of wood but this definitely helped my weak arms a little! I’ll be returning to your channel!
Hi Cat! About your Yogi Bare mat, could you tell me: is that the grey or the black version of the mat?:)
i was soooooo not expecting that shoulder rotation sequence oh my goodness……..but its works lol
I am also praticising yoga for digestion, how many times i have to pratice daily
Cat, you re awesome, browsed the other members yoga videos earlier today and none of them is actually so motivational as yours; keep it up!! THX!!
I do not manage to go through sequence in yoga because when i lower to the floor i get a sharp pinch in my elbow. today I also had a pain in the ball? of my right hand. But also nice to start the baby steps to push ups which will aid me to progress in surfing.
Wow just wow. Have always thought of yoga as boring. Heavily into my weights but this is as good if not better, I managed the crow on the third day of doing this and the elation was akin to passing my driving test, I am fairly muscly so it is not that easy, but at the end of this I am pumped more than when i do weight training. Thank you Patrick and Carling. Next step the hand stand!
lovvveedd the video! you and simba are great! my rescue dog is not a fan of me doing yoga, he’ll usually lay down on whatever part of the mat i’m not currently using and get suuuper offended if i get to close to him:D
something i wanted to add though (this is my first video of yours so maybe it’s changed now!) but maybe you could get the sound of your breaths a bit quieter! i know i’m sensitive with that but it felt almost louder than your regular voice haha
Stuck inside today because of weather and was u0srt I could not make the gym. This was great to not only get some much needed yoga in but also still concentrate on strength training in my arms.
Wow that was quick and so long at the same time! XD thank you Adriene
It was my first time doing this video, I thought it was pretty fast paced but I loved it and I really felt it in the back of my arms.
I couldn’t finish it, but maybe I’ll take as a challenge next time
Hardest yoga video I have ever done!.. but by modifying a few steps and catching my breath with child pose, I ws able to finish it! Thank you #namaste
Loves that Simba could be apart of the practice today!
First time following one your videos! Fantastic arm workout, much appreciated.
Love your yoga videos so much! Much appreciate your calm and instructive guidance. I’ve attempted this video twice and can’t seem to go for more than 5 mins:( Someday though, Cat, I’m going to get there!:)
Cat, I’m very grateful to you for this great strengthbuilding and creative flow! I’m looking forward to doing your upcoming yoga classes! Namaste
Hi Rashmi I’m doing arm’s,shoulders, love handles and inner thigh works yogadaily is it ok to practice all daily
Felt absolutly amazing afterwards! (especially after a night out lol)
This man is such a gracious cheerful lovely teacher. Guapo! Thank you from South of Spain x
I absolutely loved this! Super hard in a wonderful way. Definitely going to revisit it regularly!
I adored Simba wandering around during the practice! He was a sweet addition… I love it when my pets practice with me and it’s fun to see when yoga teachers have their pets keep them company too!:)
Gracias, merci, thank you Adriene. I have been trying to get into the habit of doing yoga at least once a day. Your gentle tone, silly jokes, and overall happy attitude helps these sessions feel like I’ve only done 5 minutes of work. Keep being awesome and thank you for organizing your sessions for us.
Great way for me to re-enter my quest to bring strength & definition back to my arms!
Subscribed and following. Thank you!
don’t be sad if you collapse you guys, we’ll be here to catch you
Oh yeah, I planned to really target my upper body, arms, shoulders today and this flow combine with your inversion flow was exactly what I needed.Thank youuu
Thank you for this, definitely something for me to work on!!! Simba did a fantastic job!!! I definitely have to take my two out before doing anything on the floor otherwise they ‘join in’ haha!!! xx
plz include simba in every video, it gives such a chill kind of vibe, love you
How come every youtube yoga requires one to essentially be a professional athlete?
Hi Adrienne! First time practicing with you. I’m also a Texan (Abilene), but living in Germany. I usually work from Sean Vigue’s flows, but added this today when I saw upper body strength. I was suspicious at the beginning, as to whether or not this was going to push me. All suspicions were gone by sabot minute 5! Thanks for a great reminder that reduced, controlled, focused movements can be the toughest, most powerful, and most educational!
Say hi to Austin and Barton Springs for me!
All the best,
Michael
Not boring, I loved it. Very happy to find a new instructor for challenges.
Sensational! Andrew is one of the best, and maybe my favorite, yoga instructor on YouTube! This was challenging for the arms. I could not quite get all the moves, but I am progressing! Thanks, Alo and Andrew!
Wow, that’s so intense! Whoever thinks yoga is only for girls needs to watch this. They won’t last long!
Fun and strenghtening. First time I did a crow and forearm stand (I did that instead of the dolphin).
This flow was pretty hard, but with andrew everything feels gentle. Thank you for this wonderfull and challenging class!
Andrew namasté fuerte abrazo desde Colombia uff magnífico!!!
Thank you, I love this practice ❤️ It going to help me so much with head stand. Love the chicken wings:D Namaste
Amazing, Andrew!! Your laugh warms my heart, even when I’m sweating profusely!!
great class, more challenging then some heavy kettlebell routines… i also like the 20 minute core challenge… is there a 20 minute leg challenge with the same intense level? thanks!
Omg Andrew, you so strong. I almost died. xD Thank you for great class!
Do you have a longer upper body strength video. I am loving doing yoga with you, my brother watches your videos too to do yoga. I don’t have very good upper body strength but 13 minutes seems a bit short to me. Do you or could you do a longer one?
Still half plank [due to my 115kgs] but i did it thank you so much for the beautiful guidance, Adriene God bless you
this is amazing! I didn’t even feel like I usually do when doing planks
