It would worth spending a few minutes explaning why in the first place we resort to GMO. Conflated in that is also the idea, not wrong, that we limit the amount of pesticide we use, but ultimately is to increase the yield.

I hope this guy enjoys his payfrom Monsanto. The vast majority of GMO food grown are corn and soy. They are not simply altered in proteins. They are altered to withstand multiple soakings of Roundup. The active ingredient Glyphosate causes all kinds of damage to humans. I can provide a long list of studies showing health hazards of GMO’s to both humans and the animals that live by and near the fields in which they are grown.

When you speak to people about GMOs and really drill down you find out it’s not GMOs they’re upset with, it’s either the government or corporations like Monsanto. Either they distrust the government and take everything they say as a lie or they’re against a company owning the patent on a certain type of seed or plant.

Now they find minute traces of the least toxic herbicide ever formulated, glyphosate, which is 43% less toxic than table salt, and Bt, so non-toxic that organic farmers rely on it heavily. If GMO crops are pesticide resistant, doesn’t that mean they get to spray more pesticides on our food? Then the question becomes, which pesticides are “safe” and at what levels? Nutritional science often takes an “innocent until proven guilty” stance. Unless you can prove something is unhealthy, it isn’t. That’s the same logic applied to smoking in the 20th century. Then there’s the matter of dosage over time. How much roundup can you ingest over what period of time before it poses an imminent health risk? Many feel uncomfortable with what can be perceived as unanswered questions.
This is all actually factually correct. I wasn’t sure what to expect coming into this video, but the caution around excessive use of herbicides is a legtimate concern.
