I’m still waiting for a politically correct social justice warrior in the comment section to mention ‘white supremacism’, ‘bigotry’, ‘imperialism’, ‘racism’, etc.
Oh wait, those people usually drink Starbucks coffee and know almost nothing about different cultures. XD just joking around here

Awesome, educational, wonderful! I think I asked this before, but would it be possible to get names in Chinese characters in the future, as well? I find greenification (and budification of green teas:) of white and yellow teas very alarming. I keep asking tea farmers and sellers all around China why this is happening and they tell me that that’s what people want. I am telling them to educate their customers about how to appreciate those kinds of teas, instead of just having them all turn green. Most of them just laugh and tell me to try telling Chinese customers they are doing something wrong myself and see what happens. Sad. White tea is still going strong, but I am afraid many yellow teas are disappearind. Yueyang, good yellow tea is hard to find. Huo shan extremely difficult. Mo gan I couldn’t find any. Ya an is the only place it seems to be doing well. Haven’t watched your yellow tea videos yet. Will do that soon.
Nice and good information, i like the perfume from bvlgari, do got that information the white tea perfume made from which and from which city?
Hi Mei Leaf,
Do you notice that the effect of White Tea is typically more calming to the mind than Green Tea? I know in an earlier video you praised white tea for being more meditative. I know for me personally white tea, particularly Silver Needle and White Peony have a calming effect on me with a touch alertness whereas green tea has more of an energizing effect with a touch of calming.
Thank you
Hi Don! I recently purchased Sunfire Ripple and found it very sweet (and absolutely delicious) but it really made me want to ask you a question. Why are some white teas so sweet? Is there any science behind this? Would love to see a video about this and the reasoning behind it I’ve read some studies about different compounds, but haven’t been truly able to understand what makes that syrupy wonderfulness happen. Thanks
healthy ke liye Organic or natural hona sahiye… nahi to health ke liye hanikarok v ho sakta hai
But i ordered green coffee!! Is green coffee not effective? Pls reply vicky!
You are the best teacher in the world! Thanks for the video….
+1 for a book, dude… I can’t remember which temps, pots and brew times for teas I don’t drink too often handy reference, and I can be the ‘messiah’ to all my Chinese friend’s parents, lol. (I already have high approval ratings cuz I can cook Chinese festival dishes, and carved my own tea tray from redgum wood ). Why do all the people pull an ‘onion seller’ face? That Grandad sold at least three carts of onions this morning, if that sour look was anything to go by The Zheng He ladies look more fun!
Try korakundha organic white tea made out of single buds from the highest tea plantation in the world.located in the western ghats of South India
I really enjoy these videos. In light of the current pricing regime for white tea, was there ever a time that excellent white tea was available at reasonable, perhaps scandalously low, prices? If so, are there great bargains for tasty tea out there right now that teaheads should be taking advantage of? Inquiring minds want to know.
Do you have to cut it opens like can you just put the bag in the water or you have to do it tht way to lose weight

Great content again! I just have a question regarding the child labors in tea farms, as we can see a young guy picking up tea leaves at 37:30. I don’t make any judgement in my comment as I can understand that the daily life of tea fields owner can be hard. Is it common to see that? As I currently work with Chinese factories I know that some social audit exist for factories, is it the same for tea farms?
thanks very much for sharing your tea trip, seems like i have been with you.
I, for one, think a touch of realness was added by those people and carts walking in front of the camera. Thanks for keeping it genuine, Mei Leaf!
Thanks so much for this video. When I drink tea that I love, I don’t realize how beautiful the area is where it is grown. The drone shots are much appreciated.
Is this how you are suppose to drink tea? I have been drinking it wrong the whole time.
love tea! Especially white tea! The problem is its so hard to find white tea in my area. A thousand different green tea options but it took several stores to finally find one that has only 2 kinds of white tea, one of them being a mixture of other stuff as well.
The tea trips are my absolute favorite!! I could watch these all day. Love the content. Thank you for all the work in filming, editing, producing, and traveling to find great tea and bring us these awesome videos. You guys rock!
When brewed it, it give a very pale, champagne-coloured liquor that has a very light, soft, sweet, velvety flavour.
Wow nice to see someone highlight tea culture in Fujian! From fouzhou.

I have a very important question for you Don, that is not exactly clear to me. Are all white teas (especially bai mu dan and silver needles) suitable for aging? If not, why not? And if not specified from the seller how would you know it was suitable for aging or not? I just yesterday made a purchase from your shop, but not all of your white teas specified whether they were suitable or not. Sorry for the rather lengthy question, but I thank you if you take the time to answer
I am really looking for something that will really work and fast! lol I have a wedding coming up and I want to look my best! My friends have been using these fruit smoothie recipes and healthy eating tips. I’m wondering if anyone else have tried it and if it worked for them. This is the website: https://fulfillinglivelong.wordpress.com/ Have anyone heard of this before?
It was talking about not doing too much cardio and trying to balance diet to strength training. I’m just trying to find something that won’t waste my time. My friends have no complaints but I need more input.

Could you please write a book with all your tea knowledge? I’d totally buy it and I’m sure many others would. A definitive technical guide on the science of tea, tea making, tea Brewing and history.
Very nice….. New one for me….. Tfs….. Stay connected:)
When I first travelled to China in the ’80’s the only place that had white tea was the Fujian. It was fairly inexpensive at that time. Now the prices are just crazy. And so popular in China! Funny how tea evolves over the years.
Thanks so much for taking us with you on this trip! I love it when you create vlogs in exciting places around the globe!!
now all of us is confuse in so many tea,s so what our instructor recommend to us i mean vicky should tel us..thx
Is gong mei considered a low quality tea? just bought a teacake
Interesting video. White teas are OK in iced fruity blends. Otherwise, they’re overhyped, overpriced and not strong enough for me. Loose leaf black teas remain my favorites.
Amazing video…makes me dream tagging along in your white tea journey guys!
Can you make video on chinese vs indian vs japanese teas? The differences, taste… etc
Thanks Don and Celine for those fantastic videos. We learn so much and we enjoy travelling with you.
Can we all plan a tea trip together?:D 28:23 I very much need that chair <3
Hey, if you guys come to Chengdu, I want to invite you to visit our tea house
I cannot express how much I enjoy these videos. Thank you so much!
one thing that always bother me tho, u touch leaves with bare hands, you touch your face and hairs several times and then touch leaves… why not wear gloves or plastic bag on your hand? u even touch with your nose and face the tea leaves several times at 30:33.. come on.. am i missing something? do the workers do dirty things like this or even worse with tea? you wouldnt put tea leaves on ur face and then put into the teapot, in front of your customer in mei leaf teahouse.. so why doing it now?
still laughing at those polite-but-mistrustful looks the little boy was shooting at the camera now and then. that was adorable XD
Great video, Don and Celine! So happy about all your trips this year: fantastic greens and whites! I’m in heaven watching snd learning with you. Looking forward to trying the White Peony flight box. You know I love a good buddy baimudan best. Creamy, soft, soothing, hay and floral. Looking forward to part 2 next week!

Green T, mactcha T, white T and green coffee which one is better for weight loss.pls reply
Chinese history and culture is great but how the current communist government is running things and what they’re doing to Tibetans, HKers, Uyghurs is despicable
Anyone else midly disconcerted at the child labor @ 36:57? I do hope the boy was picking those fat buds for his own consumption!
Nice, just as I was starting to plan my trip to Fujian and Fuding
Tea from China has a high lead content because they have no environmental protections. They’ll grow tea right next to a factory spewing heavy metals into the ground. https://www.hindawi.com/journals/jt/2013/370460/ So does rice, goji berries, etc., basically avoid food grown in China. Look it up, there are tons of studies. China has no standards.
Where can get the white tea? Thank you for the link for Amazon but it is out of stock
Most tea bags are the leftovers so they are not as effective as loose ones
So nice to sit back on my California patio and enjoy my first cup of young gushu 2018 while taking a trip to China.

Thanks for making available this excellent content. I was fortunate to visit two producers of white tea in Zherong myself earlier this year. I think I even spotted one of them (his name is Lin Long) in the trailer at the beginning of the video. Is the second part coming soon? Hope to see more of him then.
I am a small Tea grower from ASSAM. I make SILVER NEEDLE WHITE TEA in little quantities.

Nice, it surely will be helpful for health management as well:)
Child labour?!
Beautiful video as always. However, this raises some concerns for me because even though it’s being shrugged away with a witty comment about low altitude this certainly looks like child labour. I have for some time had some concerns about childrens rights and workers rights in the tea production and this have not put those concerns to rest.
What’s Mei Leafs take on the workers conditions, and what meassures do you take to avoid child labour and the such?
White tea is becoming absurdly expensive for anything that tastes great. I’ve noticed some teas look and smell great but the taste is bland, as well. Not sure what’s going on but I bet it gets to a point that people stop drinking it and lots of farms go under unless they drop prices and keep quality up.
For ordering the same, http://zillonlife.com/RegisterForRc/?id=866510
Wowwww white tea…!!!!! Very new recipe for me….!!! I will surely try…
37:08 wait is that a child working there? Is that tea produced with child labor??
You do such an incredible service to the world of tea drinkers. Thank you very much!
Amazing information about the white tea! In Europe is not easy to get such a good knowledge about the chinese tea culture. Thank you very much for this video!
I’m a manufacturer of white Tea from Assam but now I have known the benefits. Thanks

I’m starting my white tea consumption in the next few days. I need to lose 60 pounds.
I love the way you allow life to pass through your explanation. Great video, thanks for all the very interesting facts!
Very great shooting! Happy to see that you know how to appreciate the Chinese tea and so it is with the knowledge behind it! It is right that the unique character of the White Tea is the smell of the sun
iT SEEMS cHINESE TEAS ARE MADE MORE CLEAN THAN THE JAPANESE COUNTERPART
But comparing Zheng He to Fu Ding is apples to oranges anyway, as the mineral profile of the soils and water is different to begin with… you have to compare sun vs machine from the same area, surely? I realize that’s impossible, really… I’m certainly not buying white at that price, much as I like it. Sun preserves the desired microbes and kills off the bad ones…
@Mei_leaf, I’m confused. I thought white was a decent seller, not as much as green tea in China, but with the way it sells in America, like the silver needle and white peony, I never would have thought it wasn’t popular in China, the country of origin.
I love your videos of your trips to China. It’s even better than being there, because I could never just walk through the tea fields and through the factories.
I know white tea is popular, but I’ve never been able to fully appreciate it. Less flavor, fewer infusions, and more expensive. Maybe a good aged example will change my mind, but if I wanted to go that route, I’d prefer an aged pu-erh any day.
Wonderful. White Teas are the only teas i have sometimes problems with brewing. Maybe i find a solution in this video?
