I dont get what’s so hard about going vegan. I went vegetarian when i was 9 and then vegan at 13. Without anyone telling me to do it. I do Muay Thai and Wrestling. Haven’t died yet
On a vegan diet, there’s no such thing as “make sure to get enough protein” since there’s more than adequate amounts of protein for even vegan body builders.
All plants are poisonous its a proven fact. Go and eat real flowers etc. Nuts,fruits etc are all poisonous to us as well. All animals eat other animals. Animals are not herbivores they are carnivores. Vegan child abusing murdering mums who feed there baby’s on synthetic plant poison all die from eating plant poison. Let’s be real for a second. Mostly Plant based is definitely healthier than most ways of eating. Mostly, not entirely. But eating plant based will not cure your arthritis and back pains outside of weight loss taking pressure off the joints. But if your joints and back are deteriorating, plant based won’t fix that.

I tried a plant based diet and by day 3 my joints felt like they had been lubricated and my energy easily doubled. 8 months later, the only animal products I eat are at restaurants when I don’t have the energy to be “that guy”. I’ve lost 60 lbs and I’ve begun running because I didn’t know what to do with my extra energy. A year ago I would have thought this was a bunch of crap.

I’ve been vegan for years and I have never lost weight. Either I have the worst cortisol issue ever seen in “man”, or I don’t know what to say. I am NO skinny vegan, yet I eat predominantly plant based (occasional mock meats, but not frequently), and I am not a big sweet eater. I am at a loss. Regardless, my blood work is amazing and veganism has been a lifesaver for me… just not a weight loss success.

This video isn’t helpful, you don’t get vitamin B12 from nuts, there are plenty of foods that have more bioavailable calcium than dairy products (vitamin C is required for calcium absorption) and zinc is easily obtained from lentils, legumes and nuts. This video is garbage.

He doesn’t make “strong assertions about a diet which lacks sufficient scientific evidence for general prescription.” He told a story of his experience, and then cited research from World Health Organization and American Association of Cancer research. In what way is he making strong assertions about a diet that lacks evidence? I realize that description is only meant to protect themselves from liability, but still, it’s also just not an accurate description of what he said.

Lost me at “I’m automatically better than you…” it’s that kind of speech that gives vegans a bad name. Too bad, everything else was great content, good information.
The dietary suggestion is like if you see a child you are going to hit and you have two choices: to come to a stop, or merely slow down, hoping that the child will get out of the way. Who would not stop? But is the dedication to eating meat worth more than your life? If your health was terrific, why did your body get cancer? Slowing the consumption of meat, how does that reverse anything? If you want to get results, you can stop as at least you tried to stop it.
Is it that it is now fashionable to get cancer, and like me, since my mother and sister both died of breast cancer, I want to honor their memory by eating myself into the cancers they died of honors nothing. It is my choice, I went vegan after my husband’s prostate cancer. My husband is now near vegan.
Our bloodwork looks great, no diabetes, our cholesterol my husband’s is perfect, mine is much lower, we don’t have any diabetes, and my blood pressure is perfect, my husband no longer needs medication. Vegetarians and vegans have 40% less chance of getting cancer. This is the fact. And you start getting benefits right away. Meat is not the health food it is made out to be it is loaded with fats and we are not carnivores we are herbivores. Meat stays in our intestines way to long to be healthy for us. The countries who do not have high cancer rates are nearly vegans. Far lower than the amount of meat this dietician is recommending.
If you want to heal, learn how to eat without meat and see what happens to your blood tests. My husband did not realize he had cancer till it was already stage 4, and we did not think there was time for diet intervention. He was very stubborn, I had been vegetarian about 10 years and he refused to try anything vegan at all. Now he does. I think he tries it now as the chances of reoccurence of cancer is very high. We couldn’t stop the cancer fast enough to be safe, but we can hopefully keep him from getting any kind of cancer again and hopefully I won’t get it now at all or Alzheimer’s like my dad did.

I’m a vegan who eats seafood once per week. I don’t understand why seafood gets included with other animal products. It’s way healthier. I don’t see myself giving up seafood anytime soon and I’m thinking of eating it twice a week instead of once. I focus on small fish cause those contain less toxic chemicals than the large ones. Sardines is literally the healthiest type of fish ever. It’s a shame that vegans think seafood is unhealthy.

Went pescatarian overnight 2 years ago from a high meat diet and I couldn’t stop going to the bathroom for the first week. lol when I transitioned to a 100% vegan diet six months later I didn’t have any issues!!

I can testify to this! it is the best decision I have ever made. I don’t take supplements or any other medications. I’m 65 years and I don’t know the last time I saw a Doctor. My body is the pharmacy and I like it. I recommend that any one with health issues just to try it.

I’m considering doing a lose vegan diet, cuz I’d be willing eat eggs if I knew the farmer and new the environment. (Growing up with free range chickens definitely shaped my views on this) Same with dairy, knowing that not milking a cow/goat can be painful for the animal, I would definitely eat dairy products if they were raised humanely. But when it comes to meat, I don’t eat that, but I still consider myself vegan. We vegan need to stop gatekeeping, people are different and so will be their approach to veganism.

I didn’t get tired. I took supplements as safety nets for nutrients like zinc, iron, calcium, vitamin D, B vitamins as well as trying to eat healthily (not eaten meat since 1994)

Wtf is this myth about iron. I get around 2 to 3 times recommended amount daily just by eating 2000kcal mostly grains and legumes.
No need to be vitamin B12 deficient on a vegan diet. Just take a supplement. Some vegan foods like certain plant milks are B12 fortified. BTW they just discovered a plant that has significant B12 called duckweed.
You don’t have to stop eating meat to be healthy that’s the biggest misconception of vegans ive seen so far
Before I went vegan three years ago, I had slowly slipped into a cheesesteaks-and-burgers-every-day phase, so before I knew it I was up from my normal 165 to 185. Going vegan got me down to 177 and for three years I fluctuated around that weight, continuing to eat vegan junk food several times a week. For me, being vegan basically prevented further weight gain, but didn’t lead to weight loss. But it wasn’t until I went completely starch-based when the COVID crisis happened a few weeks ago that I really started to notice a difference. In a few weeks I’m down 15 pounds and the downward trend continues. Thanks to legumes and grains with no oil or processed foods.
I’ve been vegan for less than 24 hours and I’m going to the store this week to try and get new foods to try. Wish me luck! I already feel better though

Went plant based 7 and a half years ago. Should have done it earlier, but everything this guy says is true. My health is better today at 43 than it was in my mid 20s.
Second, eating all sorts of animal products increase the risk of cancer, breast cancer, diabtes and death. The best proof is the American statistics that are hidden from most Americans.
Many Health Associations and some scientists get briberies from many animal product companies to hide the truth. Las but not least, the strongest man on earth is vegan, and many famous, successful athletes are vegan.

If you really want to know, get a hold of YouTuber Mic the Vegan. Every vitamin is easy to get. The only supplement you need to take is B12. Dairy products are actually bad for you. In countries where a lot of dairy is used, the rate of osteoporosis is higher (disease that causes you weak bones). It’s better to get your calcium from vegetables. Also, look up the food pyramid for vegans and make sure you get 15 30 minutes of Sun without sunscreen every day for your vitamin D. In the winter you might need a supplement. Other than that the vegan life is full of healthy skin, healthy body, higher energy and other health benefits. I’m also part of a group called vegan bodybuilding. Might help you if you’re an athlete.

If you were eating shit like chicken wings 3 times a day and then turn to a healthier diet(non veg/ veg or vegan) you will of course feel energized. I am a amateur boxer and having a sparring partner who is vegan i can say that a vegan diet requires a lot of efforts than a meat eater puts in his diet to get to the same level.PS he turned vegan not for health purpose but for moral purposes
after going plant based for 3 months i healed my gene mutated rheumatism completely, my thyroid stopped acting up, and i have no more acne breakouts <3. i was always so skeptical and ignorant when making vegan jokes but since going plant based ive even turned vegan:\ feeling like an idiot hypocrite now but i cant give it up cause i regained my life after 26 years of torturous bone pains in just a mere 90 days. xoxo! bless yall!

The video is wrong on the protein part. Almost all foods have protein and we really need about 8% of protein in our entire food intake and not the truckload that popular-belief would tell you. You will fine if you do not try to eat food just for protein like beans. Case in point, the only way to be protein deficient is if you are starving for a long time and it is extremely rare in America.
Lol, I felt full of energy. As long as you learn how to eat right which you should do anyway then you’ll have a easy time. Also the diet is suitable for all stages of life including infancy and pregnancy. Just do your research and make sure you do it right. As with any diet/life change or with anything really.

Being vegan isn’t a “diet” and that’s the wrong way to look at it. It’s a change in consciousness. Also most of what was said about Protein is utter misinfo based on myth. Your body makes most of the protein it needs and the amount you need to keep it topped up is pretty low. Also animal protein and vegetable protein are not the same. Animal based protein is not easily bio-available so most of it is lost or converted. Vegetable based protein is highly bio-available. High protein diets (above 10%) are directly linked to cancer rates.
Anyway not being involved in the slaughter of animals is good for your well-being. Being kind is good for your health, mental and physical. It’s good for the animals too.

YES YES IT DOES LOWER YOUR SUGARS and it’s good although just last night I awakened at 10 pm and was at 68 do I ate some yogurt and at 3 am had got up to only 86! That’s still low for me ( doc want me at 120) but I’m good with the results overall. Very soon I’m be diabetic free!

Well humans use to be herbivore earlier in our evolution. However by learning to cook we made nutrients more bio available and that meant that we could spend a lot less time foraging for food. Not to mention by eating meat our intelligence got a massive boost so to go back to a herbivore diet would just be stupid.
If I were to become a vegan, what should I eat to fulfill the essential nutrients like vitamin B12, Zinc, etc. without supplementation and without consuming simple starches or any form of sugar while meeting my daily caloric intake? Any advice?

She states at 6:30 that bloating and gas are a transitional issue when converting to plant based eating. I have been whole food vegan 14 years and still can get considerable gas and painful bloating. I have to limit certain foods such as beans,. I can’t handle most legumes except at very reduced amounts.
I don’t know why this is. It seems like it was not as bad in the first few years of being vegan and has gotten really bad the last 4 years. Maybe I picked up a bad bug somewhere.
I eat reduced amounts of and have to watch things like beans, mushrooms, onions, garlic, broccoli (all the really healthy stuff).
Perhaps it is that combination with eating more fibrous starchy foods like whole grains.

Good tips for people going from omnivore to vegan. I went from vegetarian to vegan, no gas or bloating issues. And I ate more, but still lost 16 pounds and 2 inches off my waistline without trying. Probably from no longer consuming all the fat in dairy cheese.

If you are not going to stop eating animals for saving animals then you are just plant based.

For example, eating both meat, vegetables and salad would greatly increase your strength, cardio and physical appearance, while people who eat vegetables only would notice little changes every now and then.
People who eat vegetables only, would witness more diseases than meat-eaters.
While meat-eaters eat both meat and vegetables and salad. They grow to have a strong metabolism, strong stomach, cardio, stamina, strength, intelligence and concentration.
No matter how a plant is more successful than a piece of meat, that meat would fill in a piece of puzzle that a plant cannot. Since a piece of meat would regain your stamina easily than vegetables.
Imagine you haven’t eaten for like 1-2 days in a forest alone, you have a plate of salad and a plate of meat infront of you, a delicious sheep meat or cow meat. A half piece of it. I would rather eat that piece of meat, why? Because it would give me more strength to hunt down animals and cook them and search for healthy vegetables. A sane person would add that piece of meat next to the plate of salad, because that would double his energy by x2, because you gave your body the pieces it needs to fill in the puzzle, pieces of meat and salad.

I went on a macrobiotic diet and had a cleansing reaction but developed dietary anemia even with iron rich foods; lost a lot of weight and it just dropped off. Ate mostly brown rice, tofu, greens, sea vegetables, miso, but it is a Japanese diet and can be a boring palate after awhile, but you can adapt it to wherever you live, you are just eating whatever is in season, fresh and grows indigenously in your area. When I eat meat, I tend to gain weight, especially mixing it with carbs. Either go paleo (meats/plants/low carbs) or macro (plant based/complex carbs/no animal protein) to lose weight.
I’m starting off as a vegan tomorrow. I’ve been vegetarian for a while and it’s safe to say a lot of my favourite meals are vegan friendly. I hope it becomes a strong commitment

The thing is if nothing is going wrong with health then surely switching to vegan diet can only be a bad thing for some people.
I should preface this with the fact that I’ve been plant based for half a year now and love it. But as soon as he said we “take on that animals energy” I lost him. While I sympathize and agree with all his points about how cruel we are to animals, that we take on the animals pain is the kind of rhetoric that goes way too far beyond the “I’ll keep an open mind” zone for most people, and I feel that most people who were on the edge of considering a plant based change were turned off by something like that for sounding to new age.
Years ago, when my diet was more meat based, I had gas issues. Over the years I’ve gradually reduced my meat and increased my fibre and haven’t had gas issues for decades. Now I’m vegan, there’s been no change

My HbA1c levels dropped rapidly when I turned vegan and are now back to normal eating wfpb.
I’m on my 2 Weeks of being Vegan now. I have extreme itchiness on my body specially my upper arms and they’re all gone. No more dandruff and my eyes don’t hurt anymore. My sleep is better, belly is shrinking (finally after 2 kids), pimples are gone and I feel so alive and energetic.

I drink 1 oz real apple cider vinegar in the morning and 1 oz in the evening to reduce gas. Stomach acid lessens in people over 40 so this is a good idea anyway.

I applaud your effort, but do not agree with all the “has been shown to” logic. Using nutrition to help prevent and reverse cancer is primarily a matter of eliminating factory processed foods from your diet. That leaves a number of directions to choose from. My limited observations and study suggest to go the whole food plant based direction, or go carnivore, and go for high fat keto (olive oil, avocado, coconut) rather than high carbs (grains, legumes). My personal story, observational studies and anecdotes report that they seem to work well in boosting the immune system and influencing cancer growth. That has been my personal experience these past 10 years. I don’t buy in to the “avoid red meat” and “avoid high fat” schools of thought.

If you’ have a sedentary lifestyle don’t hit the carbs and beans and lentils hard, stick to high protein and high fat diet with lots of low carb veggies. Eat nuts, seeds, and faux meats like seitan, TVP, mycoprotein etc all this to help avoid getting high blood sugar for extended periods

I actually have less gas on vegan. Mind you, I was eating loads of fibre while being and omnivore so I have not been feeling the sudden increase in fibre. I think I have less gas now because my food transit time is faster. Also, my general BO, mouth odour and poo and gas are all dramatically different. I mean big time difference… My shit don’t stink!:-)

It’s actually impossible not to get enough protein on a plant based diet even if you tried, unless you’re starving yourself. And eating animal products makes you get way more protein than you actually need (which is not good) and get other things like cholesterol and can lead to a number of life threatening and common diseases like all heart diseases, obesity, cancer, Alzheimers and more. It’s a myth made up by the industries that you need protein from animals flesh or calcium to strengthen your bones from cows milk. Calcium is in almost every plant on the planet and the countries the consume the most cows milk (like the US, England, Sweden, Finland and Norway) are the ones that gets the most bone diseases. You don’t have to take any supplements at all to get all the nutrients you need. In fact you get way more nutrients from a plant based diet than a diet that contains animal products. Don’t let animals filter your food. Please make sure to know your stuff before you spread information. And remember that vegans don’t have any reasons to lie, we don’t get paid being vegans, but the industries want their money. Money that they get by using animals even though it’s not necessarily. Humans are 100% herbivores, look it up.
If you eat over 30-40 grams of fruit it turns into fat. Dont think eating a ton of fruit is good for you.

I was vegan for the last 8 month I felt the best than I ever felt before. Got my period regulary was fit and all that. Than the last two month I lost it I ate some dairy here and there,some eggs and than finally some meat. Let me tell you I feel like shit again I missed my period (no I’m not pregnant) I can not sleep that good, gained weight again generally I look like 50 while being 30. Some information here is plain incorrect, like calcium from dairy and bone health. It actually causes more bone density loss because calcium is leeched out of bones when you have dairy in your diet. Iron can also be found in many plant foods, you just need to know what and consume them.

Researchers have discovered that your body only needs about 50g of protein a day. Which is nothing to get to but you need upwards of 300g of carbs. Eating vegetables for the rest of your life is not healthy at all. Never do this. Eat meat as well! Vegans out there think there fit and healthy actually they’re not. Protein is essential to the body for building body tissue which strengthens your muscles and heals wounds and cuts faster. Don’t try just one thing, this world is built for us to experiment on it and just trying a thing over and over and over again is not an option.
My view is if you’re body can handle it go for it if not don’t. My aunt tried to go vegetarian and she kept it up for two or three months but she felt weak and her body couldn’t take it so she stopped. That’s how it should be.

Not everyone loses (and keeps off) weight. I have been vegan 13 years and when I say vegan, I mean vee-gan. I eat one box of donuts (with eggs in them) per year at Christmas. That’s it. I was vegan 9 months before I lost any weight and I lost a significant amount but over the past 5-7 years, I’ve gained 30lbs back. I only have 30lbs more to go to be my pre-vegetarian weight. Vegan diet does not necessarily mean perfectly healthy and no such thing as overeating. Other than that, my health is perfect and I’m 53.

I stopped eating white bread, sugars and processed food.
Lunch and dinner: I only eat carbs in one of these meals (quinoa is my favourite), I measure the size of the protein with the palm of my hand (I love seitan, jack fruit, vegan burgers, tofu..) and eat salad on both meals (I like watercress with onion, tomato and olive oil dressing).
At breakfast I eat Weetabix Protein with coconut unsweetened milk, banana and Shia seeds.
In the middle of the morning I usually eat a tangerine.
If I feel hungry late at night have rice crackers with avocado. I have a treat at the weekend. I do exercise (HIIT or full body free weights training) 3 times a week. I drink plenty of water (small sips during the day).
Sometimes, between meals, I eat olives or unsalted dry fruits (pistachios, almonds) but not very often.

Sadly this video has some dangerous misinformation and may discourage people from a plant-based diet. There is no scientific basis whatsoever for the claim that people will feel muscle fatigue or lose their sense of taste by going vegan. IT IS THE OPPOSITE. Instead what happens is you feel additional energy, can exercise longer than before and from my experience, feel a sense of endurance and calm for lots and lots of sports and activity. Far from losing a sense of taste due to lack of meat, (that is so ridiculous) food tastes much sweeter because you are not consuming tons of meat fat as flavouring to everything. Food tastes better and you feel really great. This is important to counter, because I waited so long to go plant based because I BELIEVED that I was physically unable to cope for one day without milk in my coffee. I thought I was physiologically dependent on it. Instead, what happens, is that a few days without animal products allows the veg craving bacteria in your gut to take over, so the calf-like craving for milk products evaporates…and it never comes back. Trust me enought just to try it for a few days. You too, will be amazed,
My belief in my dependency on animals was stronger than my body’s reliance on them. To go off daily I just added a bit more peanut butter and avocado to my food to distract myself during the transition. After a week I could not believe it….. when I looked at milk or cheese….. it stopped looking like food for me. My long-time “dependence” on milk in my coffee was easily transfered to fresh almond milk or soy milk. This now tastes very creamy to me and its all I will ever need.
Plant based is not deprivation and muscle weakness. It feels like freedom, and calm, limitless energy reserves. Try it for a week and you will be amazed.

I’m shocked about the protein part cause it’s a fact that animal protein is RECYCLED protein. How? Cows eat plants. Chickens eat plant base. Many fish eat ocean plant base. Pigs eat plant base. So eating vegan you’re only gaining actual protein. I’m an athlete myself and been vegan for 4 months now and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. I have been vegan for 8 years now. When I first started, it was a little tricky because I had to read all ingredients on most products, this is where my nutritional research came in very handy. Now it is incredibly easy to become vegan as all products usually have “vegan” written on them.
When you transition to a plant based vegan diet, your body will naturally need to adjust, just like anything. You may have digestive issues along with weight gain or losing weight. However, over time, usually a few weeks, your body adjusts and settles.
After approximately 3 weeks becoming vegan, I felt more alert and aware. My energy levels went through the roof, and my sleeping patterns were perfect. After 4 weeks on a vegan diet, my cholesterol and blood pressure were normal. Where as before, they were so high a doctor advised me that I may require medication to control them.
My advice to anybody wanting to try a vegan plant based diet, please do it. Do a little research first then go for it. Believe me when I say this; it’s the best decision you can make for yourself, and you owe it to yourself as a human being. It’s not a requirement to consume animal products, and only animal products contain cholesterol which causes “heart disease” and that is the biggest killer of humans in the western world. Go vegan people. Do it. No more excuses. Just do it.

Totally misleading. I use the app Chronometer to track my nutrients, and as a vegan I regularly consume more protein that the daily requirent without even trying. And by the way, those examples of vegan food make it look like as a vegan you only eat raw vegetables (some do, but not all) and weird stuff, when in reality we can eat super savory food and desserts.
A friend of mine went vegan for 2 months and was frail and looked awful, had a test done and was lacking major vitamins, left veganism and is now much happier and healthier.
Sweets are still my problem I know of every vegan sweet there is I have lost a lot of weight but I still have a tummy but I know I got to leave those vegan sweets alone to be at my super best

Should have mentioned the inflammation reduction. It may not happen immediately. My experience was the remedy of somewhat persistent edema in my left foot and ankle area. The edema started after a biking accident. Doctors and specialist could not diagnose it. My foot would not be swollen all the time; When it did swell my protocol was to elevate the foot for 20-30 minutes at the end of my day. For more than a decade I did that. Long story short, after about, I want to say 2-3 weeks, maybe 4-6, one evening just before dinner, I’d sat in my chair for my nightly protocol of such a day: To take off my shoe and sock, to elevate my swollen foot. To my jaw-dropping surprise, their was no swelling. Mind you, I am lactose intolerant. So I’d been on plant-based milk for years. And just as information, I’d been off the four-legged ‘meats’ for a decade. So I’m not sure what, besides, my diet was the ‘cure’ for my persistent edema. Maybe the remaining dairy, something in the fast food, an increase in nutrients from more vegetables and fruits. You still can be overweight as a vegan eater. I love me some vegans. I have found that plant-based whole foods is the motto, category, mantra or whatever you want to call it for me. It helps me minimize the processed foods which are vegan but not the better choice. I notice that my lunches remind me of my childhood when my mom prepared a small bag of food for school. I have a container of my main meal, a container of fruit and a tiny container for a snack (a couple of cookies and/or trail mix). Consistency is the key

I appreciated the information here, except I do see a value in some health professionals like Dr.Caldwell Esselstyn who is famous for having reversed heart disease in his patients with a plant based diet alone that allowed no added oil or nuts, etc. These people have to be all in if they want to reverse disease, and Dr.Esselstyn said that if he told them to have oil and nuts in moderation, he’d see them stocking nuts everywhere, and drizzling the oils on everything. All things in moderation is going to result in heart disease in moderation, for example, because we all have different ideas of what moderation is. Safe levels of foods that at unsafe levels can cause cancer, is maybe not a good idea for people. If we understand the studies and information, though, and still want to eat such things, then go for it. At least it will be done with eyes wide open of the probable consequences. 100% is a lot easier than moderation and cheat days, I think anyway.
