This is just silly. If you want fiber, eat vegetables; a whole food. They’re always unlimited. Those fiber gummies are junk..

I would not do Stevia or sweeten low or Splenda. Because even when you lose weight you’re gonna still be holding water. Because they still got a form of sugar in them. If you want to peel down. You’ve got to be eating lean tunafish green vegetables and drinking water. That’s how you get down to about 3% body fat. That’s how you cut quick. I want to lose weight within a few months 2 to 3 months not one to two years.
It’s like weight watchers their diet plan would take 2 to 3 years to lose 100 pounds when I can do a very very very low carb low-fat 500 cal a day diet. And lose 100 pounds in about four months.

your not supposed to have any sugar at all on phase 1 so yogurt is out. and you should not cheat at all. with almonds and cheese stick it’s one or the other not both. butter is a no no try olive oil, you should of had a ricotta cheese with vanilla and almond extract. much healthier.

This isn’t phase 1 at all. Your only allowed 2 dairy products per day, no fruit, and yogurt should be plain no flavoring unless you add it yourself.

Youre one of the only ones who actually show ur meals. Because its easy to say have meat, nuts, eggs, string cheese but that not giving me any meal ideas considering i use to eatting fast foods etc. thanks for sharing! On on phase one you can have yogurt? I thought we couldnt have anything with sugar in it unlesson it was from low glycemic veggies. Im not even eatting one meal a day because i have no ideas. Mainly eggs at breakfast mayb a salad, nuts an no dinner because the food is boring.

Yes this works I craved sugar stuff. The recipe in book with ricotta cheese and lemon zest or coffee helped. My husband was the carb lover so finding good carbs interesting but I feel in love with real vegetables and my taste buds Exploded.

You can have plain non-fat yogurt, just not fruit yogurt. You cannot have fruit, sugar, or carbs for the first 2 weeks.

It’s very different from the stirfry on page 161.. i am going to make the greek meatballs.. although I am also incorporating a low FODMAPS diet for IBS as well.. so I’m limited to a small amount if none at all, mushrooms, garlic, and onions! If you want fiber just make,a breakfast smoothie add a bit of raw oatmeal and flax seeds.. It will literally make u go in like 10min and u wo.t be consuming all that bad sugar

Make sure you are following it exactly. The point of phase 1 is to get rid of any cravings from sugary things. Certain vegetables aren’t allowed (carrots and such) because of the sugar, and you shouldn’t have any of that yogurt because you aren’t allowed to have fruit. Make sure you are eating more vegetables too

you seem to think that fiber is only found in carbs. Fiber is found in vegetables too, and the SBD suggests that you have at least 2 cups of veggies per meal. This video is not a true representation of the diet. when done correctly, there is no need for supplemental fiber.
ithink your doing it all wrong you not supposed to consume any sugar at all and not fruit, there’s fruit and sugar in the yogurt, the gummy bears are yummy because they have sugar in it. ive done this diet several times and I have had great success with it, I must say the first 2 weeks are brutal if you stick to the diet but after the first 5 days the sugar cravings are much more manageable. I’am cyclist so the first 2 weeks I had sub par rides, and are you that constipated to eat that much fiber?

yes you can have steak on a diet, I think she had a fairly healthy days worth of meals, just not South Beach diet phase 1. the gummy fiber has sugar, the sauce from chipotle has sugar, and of course the yogurt has sugar. but it don’t look like she needs to lose weight I think she looks great. and hey, I learned something from this video. I lost 150 pounds on the south beach diet and kept it off for 10 years until I got pregnant again and was on bedrest almost the entire time. now Im trying to get motivated to go back on it so I can lose another like 75 pounds. eating at fast food except for Subway has always been a big nono. and I’ve boycotted them all for 12 years. Chipolte actually looks like its worth looking into. I am so sick of Subway and would like to have another choice.
You could have added sauted veges to your boring eggs. You could have added stevia. vanilla and flax meal to plain nonfat yogurt. 1/4 c. beans would have been BETTER than the cheese on your lunch salad. The RIGHT carbs are OK. You’re gonna scare people away from the SBD with this video. I did the SBD before my wedding and went from about 155lb to 135lb and followed the diet to a T and ate lots of different vegetables and never counted calories. The South Beach Diet is not about counting calories. I never felt hungry. Like others said, no fruit yogurts on phase 1.

You might think about adding some flax meal into your diet. If you grind your own, it’s a cheap and easy way to add fiber into your lifestyle. I like adding it to my salad as a way to replace the croutons.

@mrzrollins I was counting calories because I read an article online that said no matter what diet you are on you need to still monitor your calories for optimal results. I believe phase 1 is the induction phase and yes this was during my induction phase. I did phase 1 for one month. because i cheated a couple times so i kept having to start my induction phase over.
I’m sure the best diet instruction is on Woo&Pep. I just love it!

I wonder why you’re counting calories? To the previous posters you can have yogurt on phase 1 2 cups of dairy per dsy. just not fruit flavored yogurt. imo you should be eating more, esp more veggies. 2 cups with each meal. I’d be really grumpy if this is all I ate. The shrimp looks good. I would’ve added some veggies. seriously you dont find yourself hungry?

You can add a bit of sea salt with iodine to your meals. Low carb only means not using lots of high simple crb veggies, I lost a lot of weight by eating lots of low carb veggies with most of my meals, combined with good fats. Lean protein meats are also good. Not overindulge in fruits, but eat fruits from berry family, green apples and oranges.
you do realise fibre is cellulose, which is plant cells fibre is the salad, sheesh girl. Carbs are actually made of Polysaccharideswhich are complex sugars (poly = many) saccharides = sugars. Anything made of plant cells is fibre ok! However a banana is both. As a banana contains sugar and plant cells. A lettuce has only fibre!
you don’t have to count calories on this diet, there’s tons of fiber in veggies, and you can’t have that yogurt b/c of the fruit and because it’s regular… this is a terrible video.

For phase 1 I’ve received about 30 shakes, mixed (phase 1 and 2) products, and 6 times in a week I have to prepare food by myself… It’s absolutely not clear what you should eat per day based on the guide… Based on the video, if I eat one SouthBeach breakfast, lunch, diner items and one shake + bar it will gives only 800-900 ccal…

@MsEtherial I actually agree with you that I should have eaten more vegetables. I just don’t like them:( This is what I ate, for a very short period of time just to get fast results. Which I did get. It worked for me. But I agree that it would have been better to have eaten more vegetables and then I wouldn’t have had to take fiber in weird forms like gummy bears. To be honest I will not do the south beach diet again. I just had a baby and am now trying to lose the weight by working out.

This is Fact. About 8 years ago I was morbidly obese, standing at 5 feet 7 inches weighing 280 pounds. My doctor had already suggested this diet, but I didn’t listen so the next time I visited him, he told me my results from a series of test brought me the dreaded type 2 diabetes… To make a long story short, I immediately jumped on this diet and in 8 months ONLY, I had lost 120 lbs. It flat out works if you follow it. Thanks South Beach!

By the way I just read some info that would have been helpful a day ago. If you are not already consuming 25 grams of fiber, you want to SLOWLY build up to 25 grams a day, not start consuming 25 grams all of a sudden like I did.

I am researching the south beach diet for an assignment for uni this video isn’t that accurate. Dr Agatston doesn’t advise weighing the foods apart from the vegetable juices and advises a 6oz not 8 ounces. He also doesn’t advise removing the carbs completely if weight loss slows down so the information could be quite misleading.

loribelt24, that is a good question, i just looked up how much fiber is in a leaf of lettuce and there is 0.1 grams of fiber, the recommended amount of fiber needed in a day is 25 grams.
About the fruit, unfortunately you can not have any fruit in Phase 1. I will, however be able to add certain fruits and carbs back into my diet in Phase 2.

Don’t eat the sugar, it’s not worth it. The whole point of phase One is to lose the sugar and carb cravings. I’d follow the book strictly. That’s what I do and I maintain a healthy weight and I also exercise regularly. For me, eating this makes me feel better. Just remember to stay away from the white flour and white sugar…

Complete and utter nonsense. The typical diet that is NOT sustainable. Stay away from any diet that restricts any foods.
Eat once a day and eat what you want at a caloric deficit, workout 4-5 days a week. Enjoy your life.
