Members of the website were banned after they disagreed with great majority of food diet’s.EXACTLY as promised! I made a personal choice to begin alternating Kimkins diet with Atkins. On Kimkins I could lose the weight and on Atkins breaks I could easily maintain it.
Today my current weight is 152. Maintaining my weight has never been so easy thanks to a low carb lifestyle.

I wonder if people know about the 500. Calories before they sign up. What happened to this lady? Let me guess all of the money was gone and spent by the fat ass founder.
kimkins is basically the old low carb atkins diet, except you also watch calories. it is easy to abuse it and starve yourself since it suppresses your appitite and you don’t get hungrey anymore. i have last about 45 lbs on kimkins and keep calories to about 1200 a day. as far as heidi diaz aka kimmer. well yes she has a weight problem. its a case of someone who cannot follow their own good advice. if you go to the kimkins website, you will see there is nothing wrong with this diet.
I wonder if her vow to the low carb community to right all the wrongs would include:
1)unbanning all those who were banned.
2)provide refunds to those who want them, no hoops to jump through, no deadlines, etc.
3) Pay for medical bills for damages linked to the diet.
I thinkf someone telling you to take laxatives as part of your normal diet would be a pretty big clue not to believe her.

I agree with you on the need for more education. I suggest you start by studying the history of human development and our diets over the past few million years. We in fact, and this is beyond dispute, do not NEED carbohydrates, for energy or for anything else for that matter. It’s not a bad idea to eat low starch fruits and vegetables, there are benefits, as long as you keep the carb count down. But the human body does just fine on fats and proteins, that’s all we had for our first 2 mill. yrs.
I think it would have been interesting for them to discuss the health risks of a diet such as this compared the the health risks of remaining obese. It also would have been helpful for the nutrionist to specifically discuss what this diet is lacking that makes it dangerous (i.e. it sounds similar to Atkins, which doesn’t appear to be under attack…what specifically is safer about Atkins?)

Kimmer is an unschooled, untrained, prevaricating sociopath, who accepts donations for non-existent foster children, posts fake pics, for herself and her success stories, bans anyone who mentions any of the above, lies and continues to lie about her weight loss, dispenses inaccruate medical information, the list goes on and on…
The problem with nutritionists are that they are so hyped up on their title they think that they know everything. They only know what they were taught. They don’t know how to look at both sides of an issue. Only what they were taught. I know some of them. This doctor on the show is also a quack. There are a lot of retable doctors who not only support ketosis but show the numerous studies that show it is not only safe but is being used successfully for many diseases such as diabetes arthritis, heart disease and cancer. So give me a break. I don’t like this diet but the facts are the facts.
One last thing. Don’t get an expensive Oolong or Green tea product sold online. Just go to an Asian food store and get some the same way any NORMAL person would. You should not have to spend hundreds of dollars for your daily tea. Eating carbs in the day gives your body time to start using them before the evening when your body is ready for a slowing, resting state. When it rejuvenates it will continue burning carbs and using proteins and nutrients from the foods you eat in the evening.
You do know that your body needs 1200 calories a day to function, right? Like avegirl, I suggest you see a doctor.
seriously, you can survive quite well on a zero carb diet. Ask the eskimos. Ask the Inuit. All you need to survive, and live heartily and very actively, is fat and protein. Without them you will die. You cannot say the same thing about carbs. Think about it, carbs, even unrefined ones, were not part of the human diet until only very recently in our existance. We surely must have had some other source of energy before we started eating more carbs 10k years ago. We did, it’s called fat.

I am very uncomfortable with this Morning Show clip. It doesn’t share the extreme danger this woman posed by pretending she lost a great deal of weight by eating like 300 calories, low fat, low carb. Many people have almost died. Yet this clip doesn’t go into this. How very sad.
Keep your workouts brief and intense, under 45 minutes and your cortisol shouldn’t kick up so much. Also, make sure to get as much sleep as you possibly can. De-stressing also helps lower cortisol, as well as reducing caffeine/stimulant intake.

Jimmy is very kind and honest. I am part of a forum she posted on frequently before she made her site. Talk about NOT nice. IF a person couldn’t eat 300 calories or felt sick then they were weak yet she didn’t even follow the diet she created. Got quite rich promoting a fraud.
This is why i tell people stop being lazy, do your research and create/tailor a diet that is right for you with all the nutrients your body need. It is stupid for people to think that one universal diet could work for everyone else.
If all you’ve been eating is 200 calories a day then I highly suggest you see a doctor. Even obese people can die of starvation.
She’s a low-intel conartist who dealt out high level risk to a desperate public. She knowingly misrepresented “her product” usings claims she knew false. She did it for reasons of personal gain and greed, with no care about consequences to her victims. Her alleged “privacy” is concern is laughable & ludicrous. 1) Yes, there are parts of your brain, nervous system, and other areas of the body that require sugar 2) The amount of sugar required is quite low 3) Your body, even teenaged bodies, make that sugar quite easily (it’s called gluconeogenisis) from protein. 4) the rest of your brain and body, even teenaged bodies, do very well on ketones, a by product of fat metabolism.
well lowcarbman, i can see that you consider yourself to be an authority on this subject, so i won’t argue with you. however i will disagree with you. low carbing and also watching calories and fat works for me. i do the regular kimkins, never have done the bootcamp and never will. by the way, i own every book ever written by dr atkins, and know the diet very well. however i think that the regular kimkins version of low carbing works best for me. i am not starving and i am losing weight.
I am saying no such thing! I don’t know anything the fruit bat, do I assume its digestive system is well adapted to eating fruits and whatever else it eats. Just like an ape is well adpated to eating mostly plants, cows too. Modern fruits didn’t evolve to their present state, they were cultivated to be as sweet as they are, ie, to have a lot of sugar. And yes, humans are omnivores, but we’ve never evolved to eat as much sugar/carbs as we eat now, hence diabetes, heart disease, cancer, etc. etc.

You don’t need carbs per se, since you can make glucose out of protein. But it is INSANITY to go too low fat! It damages your brain and organs like nothing else!

actually, the “nutritionalist” were both dead wrong in many of their statements, such as the “need for carbohydrates” and all that blather about ketosis being bad for you. It’s ketoacidosis that he’s talking about, not ordinary everyday ketosis. Any self-respecting doctor should know the difference.
Don’t go crazy cutting out all your intake just get some exercise and the weight loss will come.

Consume most of your carbs before noon DO NOT try to eliminate carbs. Eat sensible proportions of your foods (not pigging out) and spread them to about 6 a day. Any food after noon time should be normal but lean towards meats/chicken/fish/tuna etc. and veggies, salads etc. (many green veggies too) Drink a Green or Oolong Tea in the morning and evening and continue exercising as you were… YOU WILL LOOSE WEIGHT! and continue to be in a good, healthy state and not be hungry. That’s it! Try it.

I have lost 70lbs in 3 months on a 500 calorie diet not only approved by my doctor but approved by a nutritionist and many doctors and nutritionists. Now most doctors wouldn’t recommend my diet for everyone. What makes the difference is that I have had the Gastric Sleeve procedure. Once you have a surgeon give you this surgery or one of the three gastric surgeries it suddenly becomes the norm for doctors to all of a sudden say. “This is a good diet” Now having said that, after about 4 months I stalled Why? Probably because I upped my caloric intake to about 1200 calories and gained some weight back. So now I have to go on a ketogenic diet to loose again. Just like these woman but higher fat. It seems pretty scientific and safe but right now I miss sugar. I hope I become adapted to this diet soon.
did anybody ever come up with living a normal live (involving moving their bodies and eating real food)? I know this sounds radical if not impossible, but it might be worth trying. or try methamphetamine, this will actually help, with sideeffects not worse than these diets or legal weightloss pills…
All foods have carbohydrates except meat. Unless you eat only meat you eat carbs. It is High carbs that are not necessary in our diet. Mainly in the form of white things: Flour, Rice, potato’s, sugar etc. Corn is another one that isn’t white but too high in carbs. All can live quite healthy without these.
It’s amazing to me that an educated nutritionist can claim we need carbohydrates. Given that carbohydrates were not a significant part of the human diet until very recent times, how in the world did humans reach this point, evolutionarily speaking?

sure, there were fruits around during the paleo era, but they had a lot less sugar in them than modern fruits, and were only available in season. So we probably had some fruits in our diet, but only a small amount, and only during part of the year.

It’s a good thing I study health and wellness so I’m fortunate enough to know better. I have friends that have tried to go to extremes to lose weight and always yell at them about it. Grahm crakers and slim fast does not a balanced meal make.
With all due respect, those stats can be extended across every weight loss plan/diet out there. Like Joy Nash says in her fat rant, “Success is pretty much a freak occurrence!” All I know is I feel pretty good with a high complex carb breakfast in the morning, and low carbs for the evening. Though if I happen to be doing a triathlon in the morning, it’ll be pasta for dinner the night before.:-)
ok thank you for the explanation of the difference, but that still doesn’t really explain what specifically is dangerous about this plan. Basically, it sounds like it boils down to not eating much, which has been a generic diet plan since the dawn of time. I understand that the plan may be eliminating things that are essential, but the only thing I heard the nutritionist mention was fiber. So, would adding a little fiber make the plan ok?
