Just a little tip if you don’t lose weight after the 3 days don’t despair continue eating sensibly and healthy the next 4 days and then weigh yourself on the morning of the 5th day. I tried it 5 yrs ago. I lost 2-3 lbs. It worked, due to its low calorie count. You don’t actually have to stick to the items, but you do have to stick to the low caloric intake. Then, since the diet felt like fasting, I decided to evolve into fasting, going for fewer calories each day. I definitely didn’t lose 10 lbs, most women won’t, especially not if you have a slow metabolism. But, it still works.

Im active duty and theres no way this is an accurate”Military diet”. Most consist of carbs, proteins, and again HEAVY CARBS. Reason being is that in the military, they try to kep up with a strict workout regime known as PT. Especially those in the field they tend to eat more carbs, fats, proteins, sodium, and sugars than a normal American diet to make sure they dont become malnourished. So in turn we need to make sure we eat sufficiently to replace all the carbs and nutrients lost through training and sweat. This is like a modified version for those that are not in the military. Im not saying anyone shouldn’t follow it but the title is not fitted to what an actual military diet is.

Used this 3 Day Military Diet years ago. Loved it! Lost 30 lbs in a month Fixing to do this again. Back then, I had the small book. It told substitutes, like half a cantelope instead of the apple, etc. I used the book by John Salzar.

Edit: after the three days (this day being the day after day 3) I’ve lost 2kg so I can tell you this definitely works! I wasn’t very strict with the diet as I did have some cake on Mother’s Day and my mom used all the chicken breasts so I had to eat something else to replace the chicken breasts:( Even after not strictly following the diet, I still managed to lose 2kg so if you want to lose weight quickly, I definitely recommend doing this diet. Sure it works. But your body is burning muscle. You are 150 lbs and you need at least 120 grams of protein just to hopefully maintain muscle in a caloric deficit.

Where I would struggle is (1) There’s no way I could drink a beverage without at least a sweetener. I might as well drink motor oil! (2) I’m not sure if wholemeal bread which I use is deemed the same but either way to me it would be too dry without real butter or at least olive spread on it. I often have peanut butter on toast as part of breakfast albeit with butter as it tastes so much nicer even underneath the other. I go through a lot of eggs too.

I just completed the diet yesterday. I didn’t eat the though. I lost 9 pounds. I measured my waist. I lost an inch from my waist. I should have followed the plan exactly without eliminating the ice and exercised more. I just walked because the instructions said not to exercise intensively. I plan to begin again this Tuesday for three days and exercise more, just walking for about an hour a day.

Just finished this diet, no cheating at all. I lost 6 pounds. Went from 238 to 232. I did a small amount of cardio and light weight lifting and drank plenty of water. I think the key will be to try to keep the weight off until I do this diet again in 4 days. It sucked being hungry all the time, but 6 lbs in 3 days is pretty good.

Day1: For breakfast I had one mini bread with Peanut Butter (that was in equal calories to the original) and half of an apple (because I couldn’t find any grapefruit) and the other half was rotten.. Total count I think it was about 280 cal?
For lunch I had 25grams of Tuna with brown pasta instead of bread Calorie count was 190
For dinner i had one cup of green beans and 3 ounces of meat, i felt full so i skipped the fruits and later on had lemon icecream (which suprisingly had less sugar and was less calories than the vanilla one i had)
Dinner calorie count; 159 + 137 cal with desert so total calorie intake For the day (its approximately this) was

I did this diet and looked great. Did the second round and after.a Few days got sick enough to require the emergency room. Severe constipation and blockage. Spent the whole diet starving and gained every last pound back. I do not recommend

I’m glad you clarified that this is not a military diet. In fact I actually gained weight in basic training from the skinny 119lb recruit to the 155lb soldier by the end of basic (10 weeks). I see the fascination with “quick fix” diets to shed a few pounds, maybe for a wedding or the beach, but weight loss should be a change in life style, not a gimmick, to be sustainable.
Since a work injury I gained a bit of weight I started back working out consistently but when I got on the scale I got discouraged and fell back into a slump I think I’m going to try it just to get me going again

The military diet doesn’t last only 3 days. The “Up to 10 pounds” is for the entire week. You follow the diet the first 3 days and then you eat less than 1500 calories on days 4-7. Don’t do the final weigh in until after the 7th day.

This is how the military trims down overweight people in boot camp, this isn’t the actual military diet. Just to clarify, military has chow hall and even fast food access as well as MREs which are very calorically dense. If you make it to boot camp but are too overweight to do what is required to get to basic they will trim you down like this before giving you adequate food for training this is not a long term sustainable diet.
But as soon as u start eating normal u gain double weight… And after this diet u feel very hungry all the time….

Nice video but u can’t say that u lost 2kg bodyweight in 3 days, thats just not true/possible, not even if you wouldn’t eat anything for 3 days. Maybe the value of the food inside ur stomach decreased, but you can’t call that bodyweight. If you actually wanna loose bodyweight, u have to do this diet for a longer period of time, but in that short amount of time it’s just a normal oscillation. I would love too see you doing this a few more videos of you doing that diet for 1 week and 1 month.

Primarily you’re just losing water weight from reducing sodium/sugar in your diet. This is why people will get stoked about 10 lbs or 5 kg of weight loss quick and then get upset as the weight loss slows. You will do well to lose 1kg per week on any diet, keep that in perspective.

I live in a hispanic household I tried the #1 breakfast I used Jelly instead since my mom only had expired peanut butter. Then I told her if she can make me coffee with water with no sugar then she made it and told me “like this or more sugar” (in spanish) i was like I said no sugar..

A lot of people do this diet wrong if you doing this diet for 3 days and then you go back to eating whatever you want then yeah you’re going to gain weight back what you’re supposed to do is you’re supposed to do this diet and then go on a normal diet we’re the calories are still low enough to we’re you lose weight then build up to matenence

And the reason how this diet works is you pretty much eat up to 900-1000 calories within those 3 days and it’s very bad to eat that little your pretty much starving your self your loosing fat but also losing muscle so if you don’t care about muscle then be free and go for the diet but if you want the best results then I suggest doing everything as it is and don’t add any other snacks or seasoning that will ruin it if you don’t like tuna then you could grill it up season it with pepper and a lily toe but of salt but that’s it.

Nice video girly I have also tried this diet before for 3 days & ended up losing 6 pounds, but I did skip the ice cream and I did drink black coffee(no sweetner no nothing) every breakfast, and the green tea during lunch, and dinner. drinking those 2 things is a must. because Black coffee itself help boost your metabolism and helps burn fat in your body faster. And green tea has a lot of the same benefits. Drinking water is healthy but is doesn’t have the same benefits as green tea and black coffee. So just a suggestion if you try this diet again. I’m going to try it again and this time im going to try and film it and see how it goes.

Fyi the military diet is extremely bad, your basically dropping water weight and your just dehydrating your muscles and you could end up gaining more fat back when you start eating Normal.

Facts first: if talking about losing 10 lbs. of fat in 3 days, that is the equivalent to burning about 10,500 calories (3500 cal/lb of fat). So, unless you are running constantly or doing 16 hours of exercise a day….losing that much fat that quick is almost impossible. Fast changes in weight are almost exclusively fluid changes.
Bottom line….this diet won’t make you lose 10 lbs in 3 days.

I did this and lost a lot of water weight. So if you’re like me and retain a lot of water it’s helpful. My ankles and stomach were a lot less swollen at the end of the week. You pee a LOT though so beware.

I like this diet but can’t drink black coffee, so that ice cream you get at the end of the day.. Put it in a 1c measuring cup, cut that in half and use it as the sugar and cream for your coffee.. Works like a charm and still lost the weight. YOU’RE WELCOME!

So I have read all of the comments and I am in the Military. Let me tell you, I have seen some individuals that I currently serve with who have done the Military Diet or a variation of it (some more extreme some less) in order to meet their specific body weight and body fat composition goals outlined in Army Regulation 600-9. Not only do they put their bodies through this “Crash” diet in order to make the weight but then soon after they take a fairly rigorous Army Physical Fitness Test. It’s really sad to see what these Soldiers are doing to themselves.

I did this back in the 90’s when I was thin and would gain 5-10 pounds and would lose it with this. I just did it and lost 4, but I have been doing 1200-1500 calories a day any way so I didn’t expect a huge loss. I am planning on doing it again on Sunday. It isn’t terrible

It’s just time! 4 pounds in a week may seem little to some but if you put that into a month that’s 16 pounds which is like 10kg!! In three months with sticking to this you could be reaching the body you desire but we careful. This shouldn’t be followed day in and day out as you will start to wear once constantly on a calorie deficit so opt for doing the Military Diet Two weeks every month
For the most part he is spot on. Everyones body responds differently but the majority of people could eat 980 calories of mcdonalds spaced out over 3 meals and lose about the same amount of weight(maybe a lil less)
that would not be healthy! People love to overcomplicate things when it comes to weight loss. He points out some of that nonsense in this video. I do think that he should mention coffee has been shown to speed up metabolism and can curb your appetite. Most people become immune to the effects but if a non coffee drinker follows this diet they should notice their appetite is curbed just based on introducing caffeine. Ive put a few clients on a very similar diet tues-thurs-sat with successful results. Mon wed and friday (training days) I have them eat a relatively high protein and carb diet, and have them eat whatever they want sunday.

3 days is not enough time for any results. Anybody can weight themselves multiple times throughout the day and see clearly that weight fluctuates. Based on water weight, last meal, bowel movements etc. I don’t understand the purpose of this video or your channel aside from misinforming people who don’t know any better. If you wanna improve the math is simple; consistency is key. Not 3 days, not a week not 3 months. Being healthy is something you do every single day, it’s a lifestyle commitment not a short term goal.

This really does work. It’s not always the easiest and takes time to get use to. Almost like coming down from an addiction. But it does work. You stick to it. Push. It becomes the norm and you want it no other way. I did this going through marine corps training. First few weeks I felt week. Then with the right push exercise and new balance. It was like coming out new.

Some proven weight loss tips that will work for the average person.
-Eat only at meal times, this stops you from consuming high calorie snack foods on an empty stomach
-Don’t starve yourself (try to be in a 500-800 calorie deficit per day)
-Do resistance training, the new muscle requires energy to form and maintain
-Limit liquid calories like alcohol and soft drinks
-You can do cardio if you like but most people get bored with it and tend to overeat after a cardio workout.

I started this yesterday… but I also run 1.3 miles a day. And walk another mile. And then maybe run another mile… would that make a big difference? I started off at 175 as well. I’m trying to get under 170
thats very bad diet you would lose alot of muscle and gain that weight back, l would get atleast 160g protein even at 65kg body weight.
2017 I was 240 pounds I lost 70 pounds in about four months went down to one of these so-called diets that I made up myself I only ate real food and I drank a minimum of 80 fluid ounces of water a day to 120 fluid ounces
So the key to this was I brought my calorie intake down to 900 to 1200 cal a day did not eat any carbohydrates that were higher than 11 g per serving and I got away from all the man-made products 2020 it’s already February I slowly started putting back on a little weight as of today
I weigh 182 I lift weights regularly and do cardio three times a week. I did not need anybody’s help it was not rocket science I did this because I herniated my back and was not going to have surgery so I actually lost the weight by not exercising at all only buy food intake.
