I strongly believe in healthy fats, i have coconut oil in my morning smoothie every morning, i feel better, and I’m satisfied for hours, i think of it more as a vitamin, i like the idea of pointless avocado, it’s so good for you, the healthy fats are so important, i wind up losing more when i use the healthy fats, more inches, for sure.

WW as a total program does work for a lot of reasons not mentioned here. I do wish they combined the points with calories. You have to use two apps to do it. I always looked at the “free foods” as healthier unprocessed options, not free for all binge on eggs and brown rice.

OMG!! I love this video!! I’m coming from the keto world and WW is all new to me. I was having such a hard time thinking about not having avocado or using a a small amount of coconut oil to cook with ect.. I love those things and believe they are so good. I’d rather have some avocado to snack on then one of the other “lower point” snacks you see, a lot of it is processed stuff. I want to live off Whole Foods!! Not low calories processed crap! This was so so helpful for me. I rejoined weight watchers 3 months ago and have completely failed to stay within my points everyday. It’s hard transitioning back because there’s so much temptation everywhere, especially at work where people bring in all kinds of unhealthy goodies. I recently quit being vegan so I gained about 10 lbs after going off the rails and eating foods I hadn’t eaten in 4 years like donuts and cheese and very high calorie bad foods. Oprah has been struggling to lose weight for the past 50 years… and if she managed to drop some weight she’d pile it on again AND some within a year. It’s baffling to me why anyone would join WW to look like Oprah or because they find her advocacy credible…
This makes me sad. I would not say that I am the biggest Oprah fan, but I have respected the fact that she empowers women everywhere. We need to stop unhealthy self talk. I am not lost or buried. At 35, I am just learning to love my body. I’ve been underweight and overweight and never once been satisfied. I have learned from Oprah (and Maya Angelou) “when you know better, you do better”. I AM DOING BETTER!
What about fruits? Did you limit fruits, cut them out completely, or count them as points? I am at a stand still.

I mean WW does tell you not to overdo the zero calorie foods, in fact they tell you that you cannot eat unlimited zero calorie foods. Also, I think it’s common sense to not eat 5 yogurts. I did it for a while, couldn’t stick with it, but it did make me conscious of how many calories are in some foods because they cost a ton of points. All this to say, I still enjoyed this video.

First time watching your videos and I’m hooked! I have a couple of cheats as well. I don’t count skim milk because my mother has osteoporosis and I feel the natural calcium is best for me. Also don’t really count olive oil or hit the blend button in my smoothies to track blended fruit.

I really discourage people from avoiding weeklies. It’s SO MUCH EASIER to maintain if you eat them. The more you can eat to lose, the easier it is long term. I have been Lifetime 14 years.

Yeah the zero points are actually explained in the workshops as not being zero calories and making us measure and track what we eat. I joined ww to have others help me be accountable as I lose weight. Plus the whole putting people towards healthy food vs the shitty food as the shitty food is worth more points. But to each their own.

can someone help me please, I ordered my WW freestyle program from a lady on Ebay, she sent me the shop dine book, the welcome to WW book, a bag, a calculator and a piece of paper saying on Freestyle all women get 24 daily pts and 40 weekly? Full Disclosure: Work for Weight Watchers as a receptionist. If you ask most doctors, WW is the most trusted weight management system around. Livable, workable, no starvation. Since Oprah took us on, I always joke, “Oprah will fix it,” if I see any systematic customers service issues or marketing deficits. I have really been worried about our image as a way for old ladies to lose weight. Oprah is giving me hope. She inspires so many, and has a great brand.

Great video, and very helpful! I have a question about smoothies. I know that we are allowed 5 1-Cup servings of fruit per day. But, I’ve been told that they are only 0 smart points if you eat them whole. If you blend them in a smoothie, they deduct points. How are they tracked?? I love making homemade smoothies, but how do I track fruit that has been blended to have the correct points deducted?

According to the program, staying up to 14 points below the allotted points is acceptable. It’s important to know the program in order to follow it. Up to 7 over or 14 under is ok according to the program. The best thing about it is it’s all rule based, and you don’t have to have someone interpret it.
I think what really drives me crazy is the disconnect between calories and smartpoints. Yesterday I ate 65 smartpointsthis was not a binge I’m breastfeeding and I exercise daily. When I put in my food into myfitnesspal, it was a very reasonable amount of calories with a 500+ deficit. But according to WW, I’d really gone over. I had chosen things that were apparently very pointy. I’m having trouble making WW work for me

There were these women who were very fat doing the weight watchers at work. I wanted to tell them the truth that they should be doing full body strength training and probably a long water fast after that, but I could not see any benefit in telling them because I doubted they would do it and if anything it would just insult them bringing it up and ruin our working relationship. So, I had to keep my mouth shut even if I could help them. I doubt they would do it and thank me by giving me 10k each for changing their lives. One was also severely addicted to fructose soda drinks all the time. That literally puts you into fat storage mode for hibernation like a bear.
I could count points, too, 30 a day—provided that every once in a while I could have a doubleor triple-point day—maybe every few months have a 300-point day, just to remind myself what that feels like.
Since I switched to Itrack Bites I use the smart bites program. The info you just gave was 100% on point!

I just want to say that this is inaccurate. I tried out WW this week, and they assigned me 23 points PER day; and 42 extra per week. People should know they will be assigned less than 30 now

1. I use my FitPoints instead of my weeklies. My weeklies are there for that margin of error or special events. For me, it helps me stay on track mentally because I feel free to eat the foods I want to eat, but I don’t get triggered by a negative number.
2. I am debating tracking butter and coconut oil as regular olive oil because in weight loss terms, I really don’t think it makes that big of a difference; they’re all roughly the same number of calories per tablespoon. (I’m also debating the whole no-count avocado thing; I’m just worried that I’ll get too out of hand if I make too many exceptions).

Everyone needs to find their trigger foods and not judge others just because they can stop at 1 snickers while I eat 5. For me it is chips. I can mindlessly eat a whole bag in one sitting.
If i did WW, i would basically eat 2 points per day or so eating the way i do atm… which really is 2000kcal.. are these people dumb??

The switch between PointsPlus, SmartPoints, the Original Points plan, etc is like switching between Euros, USD, and CAD.
There are people that lose a quick few lbs on this stupid diet and stick to it forever even though they never lose anymore weight and they just stay fat
Doc you kinda missed the entire point of WW. 1) They encourage tracking food. 2) mindful eating/ portion size 3) portion control. They clearly state dont eat unlimited zero point food. They want folks to learn what are less calorie dense, lower sugar lower fat food choices. Kinda like what you preach. Tracking calories means you could eat 10 donuts a day and be fine (in your world) while in WW you have to eat a more diverse well rounded (or at least are incentivised to do so).

Is there an accurate list of smart point foods that are 0 points? I’ve been watching prep videos and items like eggs are 0 points in the prep video but 2 points when I try to add an egg to a recipes.

Well done! I lost 40lbs 2 years ago with WW. I have put 12lbs back on during COVID-19. Back on plan now. This is helpful.
I totally agree about the healthy fats. WW shows them as more points than other oils, but those other oils are not healthy. So I do feel that they should consider that olive oil is healthier than canola oil and real butter is healthier than margarine. Not that you can eat all you want, but your eating real foods and not all this processed junk.

They are part of the MLM Network marketing shit, if you listen to most of them, they clearly know nothing about what they are attempting to promote. I did WW back when they only had fruit and veggies as 0 point foods. It worked for me, but I definitely counted chicken and yogurt as foods with points. I eventually just started tracking calories because I didn’t like their algorithm of assigning more points to foods that weren’t “healthy”.
The thing is though I’ve seen it work wonders for people lol. Depends on the mindset of the individual. I guess there’s an element of common sense for those it works for. Ofc Greg is right
small change on this diet can be that 0 point foods are only 0 points if you don’t have any points for the day yet or you are below 20% or some shit. This way you will get filled with better foods and have less space for junk

Why is it such an issue that Oprah is the new face of WW? I would think a yo-yo dieter would be a good spokes person as some of the other entertainers before her were. Most people are yo-yo dieters. Most people have tried numerous diets in their lifetime and ended up regaining the weight back and then some. Some have had surgery and gained the weight back afterwards. It isn’t always easy, most overweight people are dealing with other things than “just” the weight. Everyone has a different story, even Oprah. I know when I tried WW, it was working very well for me, but I couldn’t keep up with the cost, and more importantly, I wasn’t ready for the responsibility of keeping it off. WW has been around for years, like other programs, you have to follow it, you have to exercise, you have to drink plenty of water, you have to eat less, you have to cut back on sugar and processed foods, you have to be willing to make these changes and you have to make it a daily choice for the rest of your life.
I just came across one of your videos and really enjoyed it AND subscribed. I really appreciate your take on healthy fats. I “refuse” to use fat free products even if it means it adds more points. I have done extensive reading on healthy fats and the benefits for our bodies, especially our brains. I have to say my lips turned upside down when you mentioned exercise…hehehe! I am so tired when I get off work and have so much to do when I get home that it is a poor excuse for not getting some exercise in. You thought I was going to say “I don’t feel like exercising”. I know I should especially because I have a sedentary job. YUCK!
Also, I really liked your video and plan to watch more because you don’t act so silly like playing with your hair and using the word “like” as if it’s the one word in your vocabulary that you love!

I agree with everything you say. I’m new to WW and the social app Connect frustrates me to death. People are eating lots of 0 points to save up points to eat M&Ms, ice cream cones and chips. In addition, they then allow themselves to “splurge” on their weekly points. I love how you got to know yourself and what your triggers are—then just deleted them out of your diet completely. I mean, if people are addicted to chips, limiting themselves to 8 chips, for instance, in order to stay inside the daily points, is a recipe for disaster—and Connect is full of people that lost control of the number! You are very smart and very pretty. A good role model. I think I’m going to stay off of Connect and look for more videos like yours. To me, Connect is a weird place where many (not all) people seem to support each other’s eating disorders.

Thanks, Barrett. I am blessed to have found you and another gal at the start of my WW journey. It is $20 a month for me to be digital. It is $60 a month for me to attend a workshop in Alaska. It is important to me to learn HOW to maintain as I’ve lost on numerous plans, numerous times. I’m 56 now. It’s harder to lose. I want to lose and MAINTAIN sustainable changes is what I’ve been focusing on. I assumed to LEARN HOW to maintain I would need to switch to workshop so I could get lifetime in the “near future” or keep paying $20 a month for the rest of my life. These changes, right as I’m ready to bite the bullet and join a workshop floored me for a bit.
I am NOT going to drive to Anchorage for a meeting which is what I’m being told I’d need to do….55 miles in the winter. Nope. I got a feeling in the pit of my stomach that THIS was going to be like ALL the other times. THEN I realized YOU say your list is for all of us not just WW. I CAN find aps for much cheaper that will track points or bites. I watched how you are playing with points and such to maintain and I TOOK NOTES (would love more on how you are maintaining btw)….and then one of the gals I followed on connect has gone to You Tube honestly she was the only thing I’d really miss from connect…I can do this. I can even find virtual small group for cheaper than $60 a month. I’m sure of it. LOL

It’s not a scam. I lose a lot of weight without being on a diet plan, and what I eat and drink is far closer to Weighwatchers diet than any other diet.
Your diet doesn’t need to be permanently strict and boring to be good.
I have been doing the same thing with fats. I cannot stand fat free greek yogurt so instead I have full fat plain yogurt which I find delicious and I am still losing weight.

I basically did the same thing and had the same way of thinking. It also worked great for me. I lost 35 lbs in 6 mos. And was so proud of myself. Had so much more energy and have still kept it off. It’s been a year and a half now. Loved WWs Freestyle! It really helped me get back in shape and feel good.
Hi I’m looking to join weight watchers and came across your great video! I have a question about point tracking on the app. I work overnights as a nurse and wonder if there is a way to calculate points accordingly. I tend to snack at work or sometime have a meal past midnight depending on how busy I am. Also for the day after work trying to start with “fresh” points without that midnight meal I considered yesterdays dinner. I apologize for the confusion..just want to see if you have any insight on how I would be able to keep track the best possible way. Thank you!

Strange….Oprah keeps losing weight and then gains weight and it goes on and on. Who wants to keep track of points? The best way to lose weight is to eat healthy and exercise. Diets don’t work.

Not only I lost most of my bad cholesterol with our satin drugs which I cannot tolerate, but I also lost 36 lbs since November 2017. Being a stress eater and addictive personality, WW has kept me accountable. I like to build my meals around zero points food, Of course it’s still matter of choice and learn to eat the food that makes you feel good. It taught me which food makes me feel bad.

Greg they have 3 different plans and one of the plans, the plan I’m actually on, the only zero points are fruits and veggies. It has been working for me so far. This diet may not be for everyone but it has worked for some.

Weight Watchers is just like any other diet, it makes you stupid! One, the only diet which works is the one you can stick to so the healthy eating “diet”. Two, just listen to your body and use some common sense, it is as simple as that! Instead of saying, oh, I can have that chocolate cake because I still have x points left for today, say what it does to my body and how it makes me feel. It makes me laugh (after years of dieting and learning the hard way) how people forget about the basics. Get more sleep, drink more water, move a little bit more and eat only when you are hungry and you will see the results.
I think for WW to work, people have to have common sense. Which most people don’t have so that’s why it doesn’t always work for people

Wow. Really disappointing to find out Oprah has sold out to a weight loss company. The only mitigating factor here though is that she has a solid history of being responsible with her money and of giving back to causes she is passionate about. So at least we can be fairly certain that some of this money from these investments will make it to more worthy causes.

I totally agree with number 4.. I did the WW smart points.. I tracked everything but not condiments, or oil or butter etc. I would always use higher points when I couldn’t find an exact match for my food. It didn’t slow my weight loss.

I’m a FitPoint user, but I try not to touch my weeklies unless it’s a really special occasion. I like banking them so I know that if I go out with friends (hahahaha) I have the points available. This makes me feel like I can eat normally most of the time, but I also don’t feel guilty if I go all out and blow my points on a rare dinner out etc.
I love your take on the healthy fats! I used to do keto and I keep some of the principles in mind while trying out ww. I do also appreciate that ww is not as scared of fats as it used to be. This is my favorite version of ww that I’ve tried so far and I’m hoping to see positive results in the near future ❤️

Wow! I’m doing three of the things you did. I try really hard to get a blue dot every day. In June I got one every day, in July I missed one day while we were on vacation and made it up by taking 2 2-mile walks, so if I ate my fit points, I would have gotten my dot. Missed 2 last month but this month I’m back on track to get a blue dot every day. The only weeklies I use, are the slight overages that are allowed in the blue dot range.
I am exercising. My goal was set at 47 and I try to meet that. But as I said I don’t eat my points. I’m here to lose. I have not been rolling over points but I do think I may try that because I think it would encourage me to leave points on the table. Sometimes I’m like a kid with their allowance burning a hole in their pocket. If I have points left at the end of the day, you better believe I’m breaking out the wine or some cheese.

Granola is high in sugar and so is most yogurt. If the point system were actually even attempting to be shit, sugar content should be monitored too

I actually swap fit points first and I like it better personally! I usually don’t use all and always have my extra 35 leftover i prefer to eat what I burn. It has worked so far for me! Also The daily actually do rollover and go in your weekly. But only up to 4 so if I have 8 daily points leftover only 4 rollovers but I do suggest eating the full daily as well! Loved the video! Keep it going:)

Just watched your vlog thank you. Well done on losing your 3 stone and keeping it off.
I am new to WW and have 20 lbs to lose in total. On looking at the plan I too am sticking to daily points only and ensuring I get the blue dot for staying in the healthy range.
I agree about nutrition and good fats and certainly don’t get obsessive about olive oil etc. Chemical sprays don’t smell or taste good plus wreck pans. I’ve invested in good quality heavy duty pans and measure teaspoon of oil to cook and count as half as shared. Avocado is cut down the middle and eaten on two separate days and count as 1/4 portion as fairly small, weighing only 40 grms flesh to eat.
My uncontrollable foods are sugar based ones! So biscuits, cake, chocolate and sweets I don’t buy as would have to eat all at once. I never buy multi packs of anything either as too much temptation. Better to buy single things and enjoy ie ice lolly or crisps. Cheese I do buy but measure out into portions and freeze. Once in freezer out of my vision. Crackers I throw on a high shelf towards the back and need steps out of the garden shed to reach them, so need to have them on plan for the day. All tricks but we have to find what works. I also had a look after first week how many points were being spent on alcohol, even though inside daily allowance. I found a typical week was around 30 points, so decided to reduce it to 20 and spend the points saved on more healthy, nutritious food. Let you know on that one!

The only comment I’ve been able to find from the company itself is that it would not be prudent to call each person on an individual basis in order to fire them. I developed an eating disorder on weight watchers. I fasted and used a liquid laxative before the weigh-in.
The reason healthy fats like avocado and nuts have points is because they are easy to overeat and are trigger foods for many, not because WW thinks they’re bad.
After a lifetime of failed weight loss programs, who in their right mind would listen to anything opra has to say on weight loss? Look at her! She must be over 250 pounds.
I just reached my lifetime goal weight AGAIN. So now I can start going for free. But I’m scared the aren’t going to honor the going for free once lifetime status and WW confirmed that what to do with lifetime membership hasn’t been decided yet.

My issue is I had fallen above my lifetime goal weight but got back down on 5/6. Another $44 monthly charge just came through. I am frustrated as I have to weigh in person to get back to lifetime. Our workshop has not heard when they will open. Trying to hang in there, but….
Haven’t heard that my meetings will be closing, but I figured some in the area would be cut. I miss my meetings and feel that I’m not getting much out of the WW virtual meetings (different leader). I’m on the last month of my commitment and was debating canceling, going online only or sticking with it in order for my local to stay open (hopefully in June we’ll be able to go back). Over the last couple of years, I started with WW online, quit, tried iTrackBites, rejoined WW with studio meetings last fall. With my studio meetings going up in cost once my 9-month deal is over with, I’m not sure I want to stay with studio going up in price for me to $44.95.
I can honestly care less about your weight watcher view but your view on carbs and fat is flawed. “They’re trying to say that fat causes heart disease” I’m sorry, did I miss something in nutrition 101? What causes heart disease other than saturated animal fats and cholesterol? Enlighten me. Anyone who’s looking to lose weight and feel better should cut out animal protein and saturated animal fats and go plant based. The science is clear. What a ridiculous video.
I was going to over eaters anonymous. Lol it does exist and it’s like 2 dollars donation per meetup. You are a kind of abstinence at it’s core. You should start a group. It’s been around since WW. They deal with addiction to food. No six meals a day crap either. Just talk to others about same issues.

No one is going to eat five bowls of yogurt. But some may eat five donuts. I have been on weight watchers since January and have had great results. I also disagree that it’s not about relationships with people. What do you think the meetings are about? Some people are addicted to food just like alcoholics are addicted to alcohol. For a lot of people those meetings keep them on the right path and hold them accountable.
Everything isn’t for everyone. I am not out here trying to look like a supermodel. I am just trying to feel better,, look better in my clothes and have more energy. I have accomplished that.

I completely agree about the healthy fats. I think WW dings healthy fats pretty heavily. Mine are olive oil, avocado and pistachios. Conversely, I track apples and bananas as 1 point because of the sugar.
Noboby just eats ONE donut though, so the single donut vs 5 yogurt and granolas comparison doesn’t really go here.. nobody is going to eat 5 bowls of yogurt and granola.. but I know could easily scarf down 5 donuts. The higher points for such a small amount of food is a turn off.. especially when for less points you can have a filling snack. I don’t agree with WW, but I get what they’re TRYING to do and at least they’re looking for innovative ways to get people to lose weight. We all know CICO works, but you have to have the right mentality to stick with it. WW is trying something different and I can respect that. I personally wouldn’t do it.. I lost over 100 lbs by calorie counting.. but it wasn’t always easy.

BTW: there is a food addiction org, it is called Overeaters Anonymous (OA). Tried for 2 years with no success. Problem for me was that you can cut every other addictive thing out of your life forever (alcohol, drugs, sex, etc) except food. That is why I love the fasting. No decision to make.
WW works for some people, but after a year I gave up and ended at my starting weight. Couldn’t stand tracking food.

I’d like to give you my perspective. I’ll start with yes you are 100% right and I get the point you were making, I’m entirely in agreement with your video. I have done WW and lost 20 some pounds. I was 247 and got down to around 222lbs on weight watchers after around 3 months. What I think works about it is that it encourages better food choices, and portion control. Now given what you have said, yes you could be doing exactly what you have stated, eating tons of 0 point foods and it actually end up not helping you. However luckily for me, I’m a nerd so I took the points as I would in video game currency. How can I not spend points as much as possible? If you didn’t use all your points, they rolled over and if you worked out, you got fit points (it can link with a fitbit to get whatever numbers they need to “calculate” fit points) but at the start of a new week, points reset. I have never used extra points, never used my fit points, always stayed within the 36 they gave me each day per week. So using the app, you can scan bar codes to get point values. You can get a simplified idea of how shitty some of the advertised “healthier foods” really are. This is probably the ONLY thing I miss about WW, is knowing how shitty some foods are in simpler terms. My opinion is that WW CAN work, just as any other thing you pay for, as long as you follow the basics that you already preach FOR FREE. All it does is kind of help guide you towards the right path. The honest question is WHO is weight watchers for? Mostly women. My GF wanted to lose weight and saw results in her friends that used it so I joined with her to support her and make it easier for her to stay on track. She showed me a WW facebook group and this is where all the people you would assume to be doing what you said in your video. These people would find ANY excuse to use EVERY SINGLE POINT and post DAILY about how they had extra points so they went out and got a 22 point starbucks coffee, while other women giggled back and supported them. These people are the suckers of WW you are talking about in your video. I again, agree with you and am no longer on WW. I just watch what I am eating, stopped eating trash, limited my drinking and have been lifting/doing cardio (also watching your videos). I just wanted to share my perspective, because it worked for me but I was not a retard who just ate 11 point donuts because “hurr durr i still got 12 points left!” It worked for me because I was doing what I could have been doing for free eating better, exercise, and portion control. BUUT you don’t need to spend $20 a month for this stuff. But hey, some people need something like that because they don’t have the willpower to do it right on their own. But I no longer need that. Just wanted to share my experience and perspective since I’ve been on it.

Hi, I’m Olivia too:) I just recently restarted WW. Have had success with it in the past, but fell off the wagon. Funny thing…. I ate a half an avocado today and tracked it as 1/4 avocado because I believe it is a very healthy food that I think is an important part of my diet. Then I saw your video and felt vindicated. I won’t do it every day, but I do think it is reasonable to do that with certain foods.
Also, from previous diet experiences I have found if my fat intake is too low I don’t lose weight. Obviously if it is too high I don’t lose weight either, But several times in the past when I was plateauing if I ate a few olives or a few nuts or some avocado… it seemed to help get me off the plateau.
Oprah is obese. Weight Watchers does not work for the long haul, and in my opinion is a scam. This is about HER story on how she increased HER wealth. End of story.

Nice vlog. I just started watching you and you are so calm and relaxed in your manner that it is a pleasure to watch and listen to you. I agree about the oils and fats. I often substitute chix thighs for breast as long as no skin and don’t count the points. Not sure about avocado as they disappear in my family too quickly for me to even eat most weeks so I rarely eat one.
I completely agree with you about cutting out the “danger zone” foods because I also have a hard time trying to control the amount of the danger zone foods for me, so I have not been bringing those types of foods home anymore because I’m setting myself up for failure. I also agree strongly as well about the Good Fats they are truly very important for your heart & brain and your over all good health1

weight watchers is for aunty karens who are 300 lb secretaries. They start to follow weight watchers which will give them 3000 calories instead of her usual 7500 calories with 300g fat and 10000carbs
I totally get your chips & cookies! Crackers for me are totally my Achilles heel as silly as that sounds. They are easily grabable and very satisfying (fat, salt, crispy etc). Keeping them just out of the house is a great idea. Just don’t even tempt myself

I loved finding someone who thinks the same way about healthy fats. In general I think ww encourages people (perhaps inadvertently) To eat food that are low fat or sugar free (often very processed) to have lower points, but I think it’s better to work towards a diet that includes all food in portions that are healthy for us. Have full fat but a smaller quantity for example, we’re usually just used to eating a lot more than is good for us. Anyway I haven’t heard anyone speak about this before so it was great finding your video!

Hey Olivia, you are such a inspiration to me. This video encouraged me to join Weight Watchers and so far I have lost 20.5lbs in 5 weeks.
I’ve now done WW three different times each time I make Lifetime, I eventually slide back into eating more than I should of things I adore, but need to be eliminated. My “healthy fat” issue was always kalamata olives. I could eat 6 for 1 point on the first version of WW I went on in 2010. I’ve continued to consider them healthy and “fat” in the same way you do avocados.

Yeah fit points are somewhat a con if the exercise you do is low impact. I found I walked a lot so naturally accrued lots of fit points but i never lost weight.

My program goal is 22 points per week. Is this where you tried to get 59 points per week? And why 59 and not 60? just curious!!! Thanks and I was/am very encouraged by your video. I think you are right on the money about the healthy fats. And I as well do much better without the processed snacks in my kitchen because I can’t stay out of them. I don’t binge but like you said they are temptations I find hard to resist.

Two tablespoons of avocado are just one point so that’s what I put on my salads nightly. I am able to eat small servings of crackers, just put them in a small snack bag first. But I’m sure your exercise is helping you maintain, oh to be young and healthy! Nothing seemed “weird” to me, though!!!!

And I too have not once plateaued, having steadily dropped my weight now for a year I am successfully down 90 pounds. To me it was just common sense and it just worked for me. Thank you Olivia on all your insight. I REALLY needed that today. Struggling with what is sustainable and healthy. I was doing Keto for a healthy option along with getting my 13 lbs back off. I injured my hip and running was not an options for months, but walk everyday on my lunch, even if it is freezing cold. Keto had me frustrated most days from all the thinking and I feel I have to do for food. Not really a HUGE dairy fan, so that would eliminate that. Anyway, your video inspired me to get back to what works and realistic. THANK YOU. I would love to know about your running.

I really want to try WW. I have tried every thing from low fat, low carb, vegan, IF, fasting, and feel more lost than ever. The new WW program seems to really encourage balance and healthier food choices and this might just be what I need. It’s a bummer that I tried registering yesterday and couldn’t get anything to work. The only answer from tech support was to refund me and have me do the whole process again, but now the credit won’t show on my card for a couple days. Really disappointing since I was looking into signing up for quite a while and finally went for it yesterday only to have it backfire… but I am willing to try again and hopefully everything works out for me. Great tips. I’m not tracking at some point I may start I’ve lost every week for the last 7 week’s. If at some point I don’t lose then I will start. I don’t attend WW meetings but follow their program. There’s a few people on YouTube that I see what they buy, cook and eat. I’m 77 so I’m not going to regiment my life to strongly. I’ve decided if their something I really want to eat I will. This week I lost 3 lbs, I eat two meals a day and drink a Premium protein shake in between. That’s my life pretty much. I appreciate what u said and I think everyone needs to decide what their goals are and how they are going to work their diet for their life.
I just joined weight watchers and I love this video because I really don’t believe in cutting healthy fats for good health. Love your idea of not using much of your weekly points otherwise so you have that margin of error and make sure you are getting healthy fats.

If you’re counting macros aren’t you at some level counting calories? 1 gram fat = 9 calories, etc?
Also not all plans have the same free foods. Also if you choose to have more free foods you have less points to spend on other foods. Do you know anyone who can eat so much plain grilled chicken breast with no flavorings that they are going into huge amounts of calories???
The point of the program is to gear you towards high fiber, high protein, lower fat foods to teach you that nutrient dense foods fuel your body better. You could eat 3 donuts a day and lose weight but you’d feel like absolute crap. The point is to learn what foods fuel your body for good and not make your glucose levels spike.
Also lots of people do weight watchers for the community support in addition to the guidance. The average lay person finds it easier to look up a food on an app and track points than to track “macros” on their own.
Its truly amazing that he talks shit about a lot of guys and no one talks back to him because he is actually right love him keep this up

This is so ridiculous. Anyone who really wants to can lose weight. And all for free. Anyone can count calories they’re listed right on the products one buys daily. Whether it’s WW or SlimFast Dr. Adkins or ANY weight loss program, you still need will power. Have you seen the portions these programs provide with food orders? It’s like five teaspoonfuls of spaghetti or whatever. Oprah has a lot of incentive here translation? Money and credibility. Under those circumstances, who couldn’t lose weight? Let’s see how long she keeps it off. THAT is the hard part.
