I spoke with the
r/medicine mod team, and they were gracious enough to approve our request to post regarding this exciting new subreddit. Thank you!
As you may be aware, there is a growing need and demand in the premedical community for honest as well as useful reviews of medical schools. At the premedical level, students commonly discuss superficial experiences gained on the interview trail, or on interview day. Some topics include experiences within the city, transportation, or what lunch was served to interviewees. These brief experiences reveal nothing meaningful about what the institution is actually like, what life in an MD/DO program at that institution entails, or how students can better prepare themselves for the journey ahead.
In the medical school, resident, and attending communities, however, we notice our colleagues commenting on serious challenges and issues they discovered only much later: the school’s curriculum, support staff, overall culture, STEP preparation, clinical rotations, affiliated teaching hospitals, research opportunities, and much more.
With this in mind, we have created a new subreddit that we kindly ask you to join:
Medical School Reviews
Who is this community for:
Medical Students, Residents, Fellows, or Attendings who wish to contribute information about what their medical schools experience was like at any US Allopathic or Osteopathic Institution.
Premedical students to receive advice and ask questions regarding any US Allopathic or Osteopathic Institution.
