I have done the Dr Bernstein diet on and off and always lost weight. I did it in 2018 and lost 40 lbs but have gained 10lbs back.. Dr B is an expensive diet so I couldn’t go back.. I’ve tried the Dr poon diet, drinking shakes and now intermittent fasting.. done 4 days of. IF.. 2 days of 16:8, 2 days of 20:4… I haven’t lost any weight!!!! What I’m I doing wrong Thomas? Naw I do the carnivore diet like Jordan Peterson and my life has improved massively over the last 2 years. I only eat Red Meat and vitamins and water. You lose a bunch of fat, gain musculature without alot of working out, have far more energy throughout the day and when waking up, you get less hungry since meat keeps your saturated, its also been known to seriously help with autoimmune disorders, depression and much more. I lost 7lbs in my first month. No negative effects noticed so far. Just make sure youre taking your vitamins like vitamin C every day and youre good.

I don’t mean to be obtuse, however you seem to be contradicting the other gentleman in the TEDx Talk. What in specific do you not agree with? In his last 10 seconds he said, 1) eat less, 2) move more, 3) keep breathing. Do you disagree with this? He specifically said that “breathing more” isn’t feasible as that leads to hyperventilation. As smart as you both are, you both did not depict the absolute fastest way to lose weight. I would argue the fastest way to lose 15 pounds is to cut your arm off.

One further question has kept coming to mind since I watched your presentation. That is, once the weight is lost, it takes diligence to keep it off. In fact most serious researchers will point out that unless lifestyle changes have been made, the probability that the weight will return, perhaps even more, is very high. You were successful in losing a good deal of weight fairly quickly (and with a punishing calorie restriction….1500 per day). How long has it been since achieving that goal? I love your videos but man im a nurse and this is still a bit much to take in coming that fast. Reminds me of an instructor i had in psych nursing that would talk like this about complex topics while we feverishly took notes and tried to pretend we actually understood. Does the protein source impact the how hard it is for the body to burn the food? Ex: 27% of the calories use for a steak but fewer % for a pea protein powder?
Or stop eating trash watch calories in and calories out and adjust your program as your progress slows down because your calorie demand lowers as weight lowers

Great video Dr.Frelich! I figured out a long time ago working as a logger (lumber jack) in the cold that most of what I ate was going to maintain the body’s temperature. In the summer, despite doing very hard work for 8 hours, we could get by on a fairly light lunch. In the winter, an hour or so before lunch we would start to get cold even working hard. (we would work in exposed areas where even the dumbest of beasts would not place themselves). A hour or so after lunch, a big one with lots of calories, it was like someone had turned on the hot water. Hands and feet would warm up and one could feel new energy surging thru the body.
Yea very basic fat loss!?!? fill people’s heads with all this nonsense….. of course if your just in a calorie deficit you lose fat! I’d of thought that would be slightly more basic.

He used a lot of scare tactics and they never worked, but they did make me fearful, not enough to lose weight.He told I needed to lose weight since I was 13. And at that time wasn’t overweight at all. I just hit puberty and my body was growing. Then, the weight started to pile on due to a lot of stress from my family and school.
