The carb count at the end of the video is that per meal or was that all together?
I saw the video and thought “he’s hot and buff so I’m gonna follow what he says”

3) add soy sauce later so it does not evaporate
4) i wonder what is the rice like at friday after 5 days in the fridge. Do you incubate Bacillus Cereus?
edit: i saw it you freeze the half. it is dangerous if people miss this part.
otherwise it is all fine. good content
Nice tips. I still have clothes from over 2 decades ago. But how did you calculate that you saved 50k and how much time did it take
Wanna be chile con pinche carne Lmfao WTF the way he said chili con carne and this isn’t even the real thing Spanish (Spain) or Mexican smh wtf ill show you chile con carne wrong meat foo and cumin hell no i feel this is a stereotype not used items if he tried Real chile con carne he’d orgasm
I am lucky enough to live in Nebraska where good beef is readily available. It took us a couple of years to get on our feet financially, but now we buy a half a cow every year. It’s enough for my family of 6. It is the cheapest way to get good beef but it does come with the cost up front.
This is the bees knees, and definitely deserves the 4.5 million views. It delivered on the Budget in the title and looks absolutely bl***y delicious. My mouth was watering just watching it. And the results speak for themselves, the gentleman doing the meal prep has a serious physique. Thank you Mr. Delaney, I could burn a salad, but even I could follow your meal prep so cheers m8. All the best. Pat: )
I’m so lucky to live in Florida, most fruits are in season year round! And a lot of us have fruit trees in our yard:) We have limes, mangoes, and bananas.
When reheating, do you just microwave it or throw it in the oven?
For a guy who is so into his body as you are why did you do body modification with all the tattoos on such a nice body?
how is that budget?? Man you dont know nothing of the world! Where i live 20£ its use to eat the hole week. You need to learn something….
Holy… This is so tasty, just made it.

How do you warm your meal with aluminium plate? İ think microwave will be dangereous,
What’s the rookie chefs? Please stop or study cooking your losing all your vitamins and minerals if you want the healthier version you must steam the veg and mix your herbs and spices with the oil so it doesn’t burn and score your chicken!
Cool video!!!!Interesting cocking)))
I make some sport food too on my channel, for beginners)))
Thanks for you!)
Feel like buying the cheapest shit and eating it for health is kinda strange like many people have no idea how bad cheap and good looking Veges and fruit are bc they are cover in chemicals and r gmo
“The longer the better”
Started cooking this video a week after this came out, still got it cooking on the grill… This should taste so epic.
I became so excited to try the eating plan “Yamzoko Weebly” (G00GLΕ it). I didn`t alter my diet plan and did not boost my exercise level. Over a period of 30 days, I dropped about 6 pounds. The technique has let me consumed lesser and becoming full is a lot faster..
How would I track this on my fitness pal cuz I put the ingredients in for the big pot but don’t know how much of everything is in each bowl
I’ve been making this chili for a few weeks now on and off and it’s just great, thanks for sharing it!
Man said add baked beans and chocolate…. hold up there pal
Great, great info again. It’s amazing you can shop for two on $35-50 a month. Very intentional shopping!
Also, I know most people shop once a week. It’s been shown, however, that the less frequently we go shopping, the less overall we spend. Not sure that would be true for you as you’re already doing such a fabulous job. The less often we enter a store, the less often we’re tempted to buy impulse purchases. The longest I’ve ever gone in between grocery shopping trips is two and a half months. I was fine because of my pantry and freezer stock except for fresh fruits and vegetables. I had frozen though. So many things can be frozen: eggs, cheese, milk, fruits, veg, herbs, soups, bread, leftovers, etc. SO many things! Fresh fruit and veg can also be canned at home but that’s a big process. Not everyone can do that.
Anyway, I love your ideas and practices
Thanks for sharing.
What do you do about stocking up with an emergency food supply? I shop my pantry, but I like to keep it full, so I replenish it when I shop in the store.
He’s used all the money he’s saved on meals to buy a really expensive knife lol
Please don’t call it cous cous because you’ve used semoulina xD it’s sound so stupid
Don’t be put off by the amount in the title. Start small and it will start adding up. The key is to be disciplined, be patient and stay positive.
Also when you do feel like treating yourself, don’t splurge and undo all your hard work.
Shop around, I needed a new raincoat, found one I liked, then had a little search online and found it 1/2 the price on a different web site.
Also there are separate things to save for like birthdays and Christmas. I find that by allotting a certain amount separately each month really helps me to stay within a budget. Some months will spend more and others none so it usually balances out in the end. I work out how many people I’m buying for in the year, what I’d spend then divide that amount by 12. It’s not perfect but it sure makes it easier for me.
So happy I found your channel! Thank you for the helpful tips!
dude aldi doesn’t sell heathy food…did you ever see laboratory results what they are selling???
145g Carbs is great if you are working out a lot, personally i’m gonna replace the rice and couscous with more veg.
Sorry I’m minimalist but I have a MacBook Pro and I save doing my groceries at target… this people are so deep on the capitalism world. Come on!
Does Custokebon Secrets really work? I notice lots of people keep on speaking about Custokebon Secrets. But I’m not sure if it’s good enough to lost lots of fat.
When he said chilli con carne i cringed but i forgive him
if anyone can share more sources about making money let me know because I’m terrible with money!
The kcal he shows at the end are for 100 g chili/w 100 g brown rice, right? I mean, it just seems so little on the plate. Ate like 4-5 five of 100g each in one day and my daily intake is about 2.500 kcal. Delicious meal btw.
Really excellent menus and advice. And the actual costings were correct
Such great timing, Ashlynne. I don’t live in North America but these tips are timeless and can still apply anyway.
I have been thinking about this for a few days now and it crazily includes things you have mentioned.
Would love more content on finances.
Love from East Africa
Have to know how much stock of chicken u use. Looks like about 2 Liters? Let me know pls:D
I shop a lot at Aldi and Lidl! Those two stores have groceries for almost 1/2 the price for a regular supermarket.
i eat at least 2 eggs a day. if i bought pasture raised eggs for $6 a dozen. they would last me maybe 6 days. and just the basic egg for breakfast would be about $30 a month. not very economical i feel.
I wait a long time to buy things since I’m still in college and I need to save my money for personal expenses, not discretionary ones. It makes a big difference because I am saving much more now that I don’t give into impulse purchases and only buy what I need.
So glad I found your channel. That avocado tip is a lifesaver!
Wow, this “budget friendly” diet is still way more expensive than my budget…
Which what Programm are you “Photoshoping” your YouTube thumbnails?
5 days in the fridge? Does it not taste nasty after that many days?
Great video. I have been shopping for my groceries every Monday morning. I make a list of the groceries I need. I cut down my groceries expense from $700.00 down to $400. I cook for a family of 5 people.
looking at the receipt from a 2nd world country….WHY IS EVERYTHING SO CHEAP?
“No salt becouse i don’t want to dry them out to much”
Pro tip. Salt them the day before. 12g for 1 kg of chicken. Rins off the rest the next day before cooking. Super jucy
holy shit that’s a lot of peppers and chili, this guy must be a mexican
Some great tips and after watching I cancel one of my subscription I don’t even watch in three months.
I’m pretty sure that’s not the way how COUSCOUS is made. It has to be steamed not soaked, unless you bought it cooked already which I never heard of, but the rest are great meals.
“What that weird background music…?”
“They’re flies…”
Dorohedoro 2020
Lidl as good value? Love the Aldi shredded wheat,99p, half price of brand name
Totally agree that eating the same things help to use up the ingredients! But with small kids there is so much food waste!!! Plus buying berries sometimes is necessary ♀️
Food is my medicine but I am late to learning the joy of food. I loved this video but I’m sad that you are pushing Amazon when buying local is what we need to encourage and support. My best tip for cooking healthy on a budget if you don’t know someone with a garden is to use the local food bank once a week for all the fresh produce they have, plan your meals based on what you got, and then shop at the local food coop for whatever else you need. For me, the even bigger benefit of using the food bank is that now my diet gets more variety because I’m not afraid to try all the produce they have like I am when I’m at the store with my tiny food budget. Your website and blog is going to be very helpful and I appreciate your good work a lot. Thank you. Jesse Larsen, Bellingham, WA
the 1st meal is about 800 calories including the ingredients, not so healthy
Can u make a video sharing what recipes or meals u make for the week with the items u buy. Some ideas for breakfast, lunch snacks and dinners please
By shopping at Amazon you are not supporting local businesses where you live. It’s fine only for products you can’t find locally. Otherwise you are not committed to community.
It is so hard to afford healthy food with a chronic illness. So much is off the table. Try no eggs, dairy, wheat or gluten, and no sugar. It’s so boring. Hard to live this way. Oh and have to keep legumes in moderation or else flare-ups. So basically fruit, veggies, and meat. Help!
What about oat, coconut, almond milk?
I don’t use hemp. Could consider cashew.
What a boring meal prep lmao how can you only eat 2 different types of meals all week. Enjoy your food, don’t force yourself to eat the same shit
Sorry, you’re talking about buying everything organic. It is not affordable to buy organic stuff which is the issue of most middle class. Is there any other options for example washing the produce with water and vinegar or lemon. What you suggest? Thank you.
I’ve just made the chilli con carne, it’s an amazing recipethanks Joe!
What is the name of the manual machine you use to make courgettes or carrots spaghettis?
Lisa, these are all super valuable tips! You seem to be the kind of friend I’d love to have in my life. Hugs!
If you are truly concerned about the environment and our own health please consider trying to cut down on plastic packaging.
Walnuts! UGH, IM deathly ALLERGIC. How about the seed, Almond?
I love your videos! I’m from Brazil. Please subtitles in Portuguese would be great.
I try not to buy any ingredient if I don’t have 2-3 meal ideas that use it.
I love how much your videos resonate with me!! thank you for the cashew milk recipe here!
Who buys $13/lb MEAT?! No, that’s too fancy for my. I keep it under $4, most of the time under $2. Please don’t shop at Whole Foods then give advice of eating on a budget. Most people can’t afford those kind of stores nor have access. There are plenty other places to find tips on eating healthy on a budget. ANYWHERE BUT HERE WOULD BE BETTER!
A tip that might help right now is that a lot of stores will have to close (some just for a few weeks) bc of the coronavirus, so they try to get rid of the food that would go bad in the time they will have to close, so some might sell their products a lot cheaper than usual. We had to close one of the stores i work for and sold a lot of stuff for just 1CHF that would usually cost a lot more. I think that happens in a lot of places right now
Trader Joe is my favorite store for healthy shopping. Small quantities at reasonable prices
Best B6-B12 is beef liver, I recommend taking fried liver with greens at least once a week.
Sorry, but this meat is big shit. Such cheap meat means tons of hormones and tons of antibiotics. Sorry, to say. But 98 % of antibiotics are feed to mass meet production, so for cheap meat.
Right now I have six dollars I’m just a kid and I’m saving at my new balance shoe box my goal is to probably save around 500 or $200
Nature is my thing other then going to concerts ( I only go if it’s my favorite band )
Quinoa is one of the few complete plant based proteins and is very versatile and cheap!
How long does the hemp milk shown in this video keep in your fridge?
Thank you for the tips. I am single and tired of expensive pre-cooked healthy meals. I am going try your ideas and food prep to save money.
This video is very useful but talking about proteins you forgot to mention quinoa that contains complete proteins that means it has the 20 amino acids that we need to consume. No all the vegetables proteins are complete proteins. Otherwise your video is good as always.
Hi again Lisa, do you have organic storage bags and freezer bags that you suggest?
Great video, I cooked this all up tonight. Looking forward to the lunches and dinners for the week:D
So happy to see you use reusable bags ❤️ hope your video brings more awareness of loving the planet.
I’m so glad I found this channel!
Tip on the Costco membership: share it with someone. Then, it’s $30 per person.
Excellent video! Didn’t know chia pudding is freezable. Would love to see more videos on eliminating food waste/freezer snacks.
I started making my own vegetable broth. I freeze juice from steamed vegetables. I also gather celery ends, turnip peals that last bit of spinach, carrot and onion and boil them for 10 minutes, then drain and freeze the juice. I use the broth for soups or when I cook quinoa etc.
I am starting meal prep this week and I’m needing advice on a good blender as well as your storage bags. Can you let me know which you prefer. I loved watching all of your videos and just signed up for your weekly emails. I am really looking forward to making huge changes in my diet. You’ve got me excited that the food will actually taste good and not just be good for me
Hi, first of all well done on your videos:). Can you please let me know what hand soap you have next to the kitchen sink please? I really like the bottle. Thanks
be honest, I’m going every 2 weeks on local food pantry at church to get dry beans, raw honey, oats, brown rice to make more healthy plant-based food. That way I’m not shopping a lot at the store these items and saving money…
Please don’t use amazon or something like that for safe money…
One way I save on meals is I buy what is on sale then with a Food Saver and instant pot the money I save.
I have invested in the Food Saver @179 + Instant Pot @129 but I have 30 days of meals pending on what I plan to make. my food bill on everything at about 150 for 2 People having the above items will also save you!
I agree with meat. Its getting too expensive. I am trying to eat less meats.Thinking of making Lentil Spaghetti today. Love Lentils. I need to make that Chia Pudding again. Love that stuff. Love these tips. I need dairy free recipes.
https://amzn.to/2YH6N5W Would you recommend this product, should I use it?
I started the budget mom workbook and this goes great with it!! A few of these I didn’t think of already! Thanks!
Can you freeze tomatoes? That’s not one of the vegetables I ever see frozen in stores.
I just can’t stop wasting lettuce. No matter what, I only get through half before the remainder is just not eatable. I am a single person so can’t force it on the kids. Any tips on how to make it go further?
That’s wonderful I wish I could do that but have family members that is on restriction diet allergies and one is type 1 diabetic. the pasta is cool but I make my own pasta all you need is flour and egg I’m not really into rice cauliflower rice or the grain quinoa is more my go to and I can’t just eat any kind of a vegetable or fruits has to be organic. I mostly like Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods. Times Like These people who is out of a job need a side hustle like yourself that could bring in a little money for me I cook food and bake and I do hair. I make quite a bit of good money and I also can Barber I learned from the best my father which bought me some men clients all I can say is God continue to bless everybody and be safe and if push come to shove hit them soup kitchens.
I have so many things to sell but my mom is like no but I’m sell chips and bracelets at school for an 1 chip 3 bracelet
She lost me at the “make more money” tip.. OBVIOUSLY that’s a way to save more.
What is slow cooker pulled pork have to do with healthy eating? It’s a sympathetic meat
This was way more down to earth than I thought it would be. Awesome.
Hi:) i am a bit puzzed looking at your Shop Page. Is that sheet pan really Aluminum? Didnt think folks still used it, i dont. Plz address this…Ty in advance:)
Unfortunately it doesn’t seem cheaper to make my own cashew milk.
Cashews 5 to 10 dollars for 10 to 20oz
Cashew milk 3.79 (64oz)
Did I just see an American make a Nanaimo (Canadian dessert)?!
Dude but i have to save now for that strong gamer pc!!
i see it as a good investment tbh since, i plan going on twitch fulltime as a gamer and streamer ^^
Sadly i can only put away 400 euros now each month but hey atleast i start somewhere i do plan on investing in stocks later on after i hit that goal.
Thank you so much for posting this! Excellent video and those casseroles look fabulous! Where can I find those small glass containers you use for your chia pudding?
Why would I want to support Amazon whin they mistreat their employees in the warehouse. I hope you have another option than Amazon.
I’m patting myself on my back because I’m doing all these steps besides for buying deals… like I don’t even think that would be possible for me Another way to grow your savings is to put it into a high interest savings account for 50,000 you can be making over 500 a year of free money!
I do enjoy ur videos. Young people can learn so much from you.
Wow! 200 a month!? On a good day I spend 200 a week or every two weeks! I must be doing something wrong!
Shop at grocery stores that offer discounts for seniors, etc.
Grass fed meat is actually worse for the environment because their farts are more potent, creating more environmental gases. I just learned this from an environmental researcher. I haven’t validated it yet but good to consider. Great video.
I quit buying bulk items at the local health food store when my son noticed there were bugs in the bin of one of the items. Nope, don’t need that hassle.
I used spend too much money on food and wasting so much! But since I started to budgeting I only spend $100 per week for 5 people a week.
you dont need amazon prime to get the discounts from subscribe & save though.
Such a useful video, Alyssa! Thanks for helping to dispel the notion that plant-based eating is always expensive!
I love shopping sales but if they’re good enough, I go crazy my favorite cashew butter is a whopping $17 a jar, but my local health food shop reduced it to $10 for a month of august. My pantry is literally filled with cashew butter now!
I just began Plant Based. I used to think it was expensive. I’m on a fixed income. When in reality all that pre made foods and meats are more expensive. This is a great video especially for starters like myself. I’ve only been at it for a week. I’ve noticed since I started my sugar level went down to my lowest I have ever been it was 93 today. It’s been between 101-93 since I started. When I was eating cheese and junk foods. It was always between 120-130. And I noticed my allergies are getting a bit better. I miss cheese some. But I know how it makes me feel after eating it. Hopefully I can make it to week two.:) I made a great meal today and it was filling and satisfying. I made a portobello mushroom burger, with fries and homemade veggie broth gravy. And also zucchini fritters. Vegan of course. It was so good. Oh I also use vegan mayo called Just Mayo. And I’m having to take supplements anyways. So I thought I’d try this. It took me a year to decide. I watch video’s and researched. I watched Fork Vs Knives and that kind of helped me decide what I wanted to do.:) And I love your video’s. I still need to try Quinoa. I do love the Quinoa pasta. So I may love the Quinoa itself. Will give it a try soon.:)
I’m lucky I can shop at Costco and Trader Joe’s. They have choices for fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables. Thanks
live on one partners salary, save the rest (or whittle down debt)
I’m stuck because I can get me a really old car right now but if I save for 3 more months I can get me a car 20x better. Am I willing to save 3 more months is the question because I just want it now!!!
These are all great tips! We love going to the Farmer’s Market & freezing produce for smoothies too!
Hey Camille. Definitely unrelated to the video, but I thought to mention another novel you might be interested to read. I remembered your video on toxic friends and thought of Sula by Toni Morrison. It’s been years since I last read it, so the key details escape me. Nonetheless, it’s a beautiful, nuanced exploration of the friendship between two girls from a small town, how their lives split off into totally different paths as women and the explosive unfolding of events when Sula returns to town many years later. (Great tips in this Frugal Living installment. You look lovely, per usual.)
Use ibotta! The app is super easy to use and you can get cash back on all kinds grocery items including produce! I really like it because I don’t have to bring a huge stack of coupons to the store.
https://ibotta.com/r/jbkcjvq
I’m getting ready to move out for the first time to Chicago and this was SO helpful! Thank you!
Great tips! Use coupons, go to stores like World Market & Marshalls/TJMaxx (they have natural and organic cabinet food essentials for a lower price) and meal prepping.
Look for a place that uses rescue produce. That will save you a TON of money.
Don’t forget to grab your free grocery checklist in the description bar. I hope you all have a good Sunday!
Trader Joes is the best place to shop on a budget!!!! Its my favorite store
I’m Chicago, I shop at Aldi and some stuff at Trader Joe’s. Also for fresh berries Jewel usually has good deals for these items usually 2/$3 or 2/$5 that I will definitely get there. Aldi is also good for having sales of.99 for strawberries. The Jewel app has free items on there that you can get without having to make a purchase, I recently redeemed a reward for a free carton of eggs. I have been so wasteful with food, bc I don’t go with a plan. But as of this week I’m going to be intentional with my grocery shopping. Thank you for sharing. ❤️
you need to write a book on all your tips for young adults!!
Spend less money on food but more on healthcare ♀️. I suggest nutrient dense foods like beef chicken eggs butter and hard cheese and skip the filler foods that cause diabetes and insulin resistance like rice pasta and breads
I’m using this pancake recipe and it keeps my breakfast costs very low.
1 1/2 cups flour, 1tsp baking soda, pinch of salt, 1/2cup sugar, 1tsp vanilla extract, 2 tsp ACV or white vinegar, 1/2 cup canola oil, 1/4 cup milk and 2/4 cups water. Mix the dry, then pour all the wet, mix and fry. I can make a good 14 fluffy pancakes with this recipe and it costs around $0.62 total (doing the equivalence from my home country to USD)
OMG xD I though frugal was the same as vegan but only fruits xDDDD
So happy I found your channel! New subbie love that you are an elegant & educated woman and Latina on top of that. Our community needs to learn more about generational wealth and financial stability/health. Keep up the great work ✨
I usually don’t comment on videos but I just had to let you know how much your videos are helping me! Struggling with money at the moment, this is exactly what I needed! Thank you!!
As someone with Celiac Disease (An autoimmune disorder that makes it so I can’t eat wheat, barley, rye and oats), food can sometimes be way more expensive. I’m only 14 at the moment, but I’m already planning on how to save money and be able to move out by 18 or 19.
Hello I am new here. I really like your videos. Especially now that I just graduated and I’m lookin for my first adult job. You are like an older wiser sister everyone needs
Got chicken legg quarters 59 cents 10 pound bag 5.90 got 3 chicken enough for 3 months
Bagels have been a go-to of mine recently. Kroger and Aldi have store brand bagels that are delicious and around a dollar for a 6 pack. Aldi’s cream cheese is also super cheap. If you get tired of plain old bagels and cream cheese you can always get different flavors of cream cheese or make bagel sandwiches or use peanut butter/butter on them.
I definitely follow the store brought brand, every time I tell people I shop at Whole Foods they look at me like I’m crazy and I tell them their store brand is great on prices
We’re a family of 5, I have special dietary needs, and my hubby doesn’t do left overs. I keep the budget at $150/week by going in as soon as the store opens and grabbing the marked down produce and meat. And I sneak in left by mixing in eggs, and cheese and either making breakfast casseroles over potatoes or putting them in tortillas for breakfast tacos. (I cook separate meals for my health needs)
How do you start with nothing in your fridge or pantry? Do I have to spend more the first time and stock up on everything to then be able to spend less money a week? Help!
Your avoid list at the end is basically my entire shopping list each week wuh wuh
I tried saving before I could get my own bank account by giving my mom some/most of my money that I would make while cleaning houses with her. I saved up $400 in less than a couple of months and as a 13 year old I felt og but she ended up using it for rent. I’m so glad I can have my own bank account now and I’m looking for tips. I’m saving what I can even if it’s a little bit but this helped me so much. Thank you
loved these tips, that is an impressive saving. I will definitely be doing some of these tips:D xx
I love you!!! omg!! I can hear you talk about this all day!! lol make more videos! I love frugal living haha!
I just found your channel some days ago. Love your positive and lovely attitude, I could listen to you for hours.
Btw: I’m from Europe, so I don’t know much about citys in the states, but it’s so funny for me that you’re living in Charlotte cause my cats name is Charlotte
Hard cheeses such as cheddar are often more economical in bulk so I just buy a huge block once a month and then grate it at home. Grated cheese can be frozen and defrosted in the fridge overnight. It’s handy for sandwiches, pasta or home made pizza. I also buy my nuts, fruit & veg, spices, chia seeds, etc at a local ethnic market and it’s much cheaper than health food stores or supermarkets. I also have a few go to freezer friendly recipes that are great for leftover veg that need to be used before they go off.
Guys I need help, so basically my parents and family all want to be fully vegetarian and I just simply don’t feel like I get enough protein of vegetarian meals, I’m struggling with what to do, maybe someone could give me a premade reheatable high protein vegetarian meal prep recipe, or any solutions. Thanks.
New sub here an I really like the fact that you reply to all the comments that have asked questions. Also your desserts look amazing I am hooked, I can’t wait to try them.
Thanks for the tips! My family of four wastes a lot of food and my grocery bill is huge. I’m going to use these tips to help me fix this issue!
Just wonderful, I been tryin to find out about “financial freedom workshop” for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of Ferapt Freedom Fanboy (just google it )? Ive heard some great things about it and my m8 got great success with it.
in love with this channel! have you thought about starting a course and/or podcast? Thankful for the content!
You need the ingredients list in the drop down below, so I can screenshot and have the recipe at hand at the store.
I freeze my ripe bananas in their skins and store in freezer bags ( that I wash and reuse ) When I want to use them for smoothies or baking I hold them vertically and use a sharp knife to peel them. Even if they looked brown they would still taste great and be nutritious.
Great tips!!! Now we need meal ideas cause I’m getting tired of my chicken and rice
I have discovered your channel today… completely underrated!
Wonderful watching this! The recipes looked interesting too.
I shop every 2week because my daughter is 3 years young an she’s picky in her eating
tip: make kimchi in bulk and eat that as veggies. You can find easy recipes online
Hi guys I hope you found these tips helpful! If you have additional tips, please do share them in the comments below! xo Lisa
bruh i stopped watching for the actual meal prep and just stayed to hear the homies voice
No sabía el termino en español pero como en inglés: frugalidad, y me parece genial conocer más sobre ello. Definitivamente una vida simple y responsable en cuestión de consumo se disfruta más. ¡Gracias Camille!
when you have no bulk store, no farmers market, and no freezer
You might also check your local farmer’s market. We have several that are each open two days a week. The food is in season and local and most growers will happily chat with you about their growing methods. I’ve found their pricing comprable to what I pay at the grocery store only it hasn’t been shipped in near freezing trucks (and rot a day or two after getting them home).
Fresh produce I don’t pay over a 1 a pound anything over a dollar is most likely out of season and sweet
What’s one tip you’ve used to save money?
Also, this video was inspired by my lovely friend Sarah from Abundantly Minimal. If you’re looking for more ways to save, check out her video! » Sarah’s video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMwW46V3s5s&t=1071s
Since lockdown I have mastered two tips that she mentioned here before seeing this video. Try owning only one of a product and use to the max what you have. From nail polish, to hair and body products I have several. Yet I want to purchase another brand. With this unemployment I said stop buying and clean out your storage using everything to the max. It is not easy since there are other colors or qualities that you may want. But I am determined to make most of my stock work for me. And that includes eating the majority or all of the food in my home first before I buy more. Also making sure that I eat before grocery shopping.
Ashlynne, you’re such a ray of sunshine! Greetings from Germany:)
I also saved from buying books by using the library who also do audio books an dvds here in the UK. Also doing book swaps with friends and relatives. Also buying books from thrift stores if it doesn’t matter that it’s not the latest release. Great videos thank you.
I’ve saved all my tax money that just came in.
Paying bills off each week so it’s not too overwhelming when they’re due.
Putting aside 3-4 weeks worth of rent so it can be paid on time.
These are great tips, Ashlynne! As a teacher, I’ve learned to be very frugal. Groceries are a significant portion of a household budget, and I’ve noticed that stores rotate their sales every 3-4 weeks. If there’s something I really like that’s a name brand, I will wait until a sale or buy the generic version if I need it right away. I’ve also consistently brought my own lunch to work for over 18 years, so I’m saving over $100 per month by not eating out. It’s such a great feeling to have some savings tucked away!
Ok this tip is definitely not for everyone, but if you can, start early!!! I’m 23 and have been saving at lease $400 a month from my paycheck since I was 15. I also recommend if you can, live with your parents as long as possible. When you do move out, get a couple roommates to split the cost of living. When you’re young, you don’t need a massive space to yourself!
I haven’t purchased a a couch because I am afraid if I get too comfortable I will not be productive. Plus I am always working and am home only to sleep and sometimes lunch.
Please like this is a tip if u won’t feel sad when u go home don’t get it
Wonderful!!
We use a lot of store bought Organic Almond milk, with 3 growing kids. But i am allergic to raw cashews, so can i roast cashews and grind them to make cashew milk?
Same meal every day.. yahhh.. altho its better than the Milk Diet.

We paid off $70k in student and vehicle debt using a variety of tactics: the snowball method, having one car, not shopping as much and buying second hand, not eating out very often, selling a few things, and planning out the year’s budget in advance, in combination with also gradually increasing our income through promotions/raises at work. Now we are debt-free and saving up for a down payment on a house using the same strategy.
Congrats on saving that much but some of us make a little more than that a year so it’s much harder.
I would have expected tips like shop at Aldi, plan meals, hints on what things people overspend on, meal prep, ingredient choices,… not “shop at Whole Foods”, show expensive food containers, etc. And are you sponsored by Amazon?
Only guy in the world to put their sponsor at the end of the vid
This is a great video. Is it possible to put the list of 25 things within the video comment or include a link that shows it?
I basically cut budget for everything except for essential food transport and phone network services.
I dont have budget for clothes bags shoes computers handphones because i had bought enough.
I need multiple pairs of sunglasses because I lose mine all of the time
Some volks are miserable more time than otherwise in their lives is spending it on getting money money we repeat I do cannot live without it no dinero or we have are more miserable we never have enough some volks are never satisfied always miserable why I wonder misery loves company
What brand would you suggest for cacao beans or cacao powder?
I need like $800 by November and I don’t know if it’s worth it to get a job at this time (I don’t have much to sell)
Did you guys have student loans or any debt before getting together?
lol i feel like you were totally referring to an MLM LMAOOO yes girl AVOID AVOID AVOID hahah
Unsalted sunflower seeds without the shells are a very cheap way to get in your nutrients without spending so much on other seeds!
14. I own 0 cars. 17. I don’t drink and never will. 20. Almost 0 visits (<10 per year). I get free coffee or make my own. 22. Just listen to your Asian mom. Score!
That’s a great accomplishment Ashlynne! You should be proud. Keep it up and you’ll have the financial stability to do whatever you want in life.
I am so glad I found you. I have an autoimmune disorder dealing with my stomach and I get many good healthy ideas because of you.
I guess I do very well except for the second job because it will just put me in a higher tax bracket. But my hubby and I both need our own cars for work but I want to get a bicycle. I get Netflix for free with t mobile, and my brother gets Hulu for 2$ (he signed up at Christmas) and we share the account. Tip also is to only grocery shop online except for produce I used Walmart grocery pick up so I plan what I will eat for the next 2 weeks. Covid19 kept me away from Dunkin’ Donuts and I save about $150 a month because I don’t go. Tracking spending is great I learned I spent most of my money on take out food and restaurants I used to be a foodie lol and I cut things open to use the rest of it and put it into a jar
I have 200 ways to save your money, and I will give your followers one tip everytime you come on.
Also, use only the amount you need, ex toothpaste and laundry detergent and liquid soap. People really overuse these things.
You guys are so smart, it just shows you what you can do when you put your minds together, congrads.
Journal next to your bed: write down anything that concerns you before you go to sleep.
i’m 17 and i save all my money bc i don’t have to paid anything, i live with my family and they give me all what i need, i’ve been working for like 2 years and i have saved a considerable amount of money, that makes me very happy!
My dream is buy a house and renovate then rent it, save more money from my job and of the house rental and do the same until I have my real estate business:)
i’m sorry, english is not my first language but i can understand most, i love spend my time watching this kind of videos, they motivate me!
Another one would be quitting all different kinds of drinks and just drink water
I just stumbled upon this. I’ve gotten better at saving money, but I find myself stuck. I’m hoping to get back on track. I still live with my parents so they allow me to save.
That’s awesome I just switched jobs due to making just 75¢ more than my old job. So $12.75 an hour because of shift differential after training next month not sure for how long. it’ll go up to $16.75 an hour so in the long haul I’ll be making a ton more than I was currently and furthering my career and education.
We have an automatic transfer into our savings account each month that we include in our budget, almost like it’s a “bill” that we pay to ourselves. This really helps as we are not so great at remembering to save

Our 5 best Fitness Food! Who are they?
I’ll probably be better at saving once we pay the unavoidable medical debt bills. I try to save what I can and haven’t really been buying anything nonessential. But Covid has also been hard so as long as we aren’t in more debt, I am OK with not saving a ton of money this year. I wait for my phone to become unusable before I upgrade. We use family subscriptions for TV. Selling and side hustles haven’t really worked out for me in the past but hoping to ask for a raise in a few months. Covid kinda ruined my plans.
1:02 I think that means “chilli with meat”. I’m Portuguese and “carne” means “meat” and con is similar to “com” wich means “with” and that is probably Spanish, probably a Mexican recipe
She is the Youtuber that deserves to have a 1Million or more Subscribers. I Love you, Ashlynne
GIRL YOU ARE ONE OF THE BEST ONES OUT THERE. SEEING THINGS AS A WHOLE. SPIRITUALLY, FINANCIALLY, HEALTHY. YAS GIRL!!
also invest in the stock market everyone right now would be a good time to invest
If I get anything second hand I’m washing and as for furniture I don’t think I can do that cause I’m worried about bringing bed bugs in.
Minimalism and veganism have helped me save so much money over the course of many years
I have been binge watching your videos today! Awesome! Love your everything! Very inspiring ❤️❤️
holy crap the fruits and berries are allmost free compared to our prices. We gotta pay like 1 euro for 1 blackberry.
Well I’m 14, next year I’m going to a public school (I live in Brazil so the high school is better in public school) and my mom is organizing to give for me the money she used to use to pay my school (I don’t know how it works in there, but here we pay every monthin my case R$294,00, what is not cheap but it’s no THAT expensive, still a lot of money hahaha) and here am i watching this video to help me, since I’m a bit impulse but still want to make a lil travel with my friend.
Btw the video was really good (sorry for any mistake, English is not my first language and I’m still not fluent)
Tip # 1 for saving your money, start paying cash for your purchases, if you can’t pay cash don’t buy it.
very creative ways, thanks for sharing! I actually started saving all my money in Outlet Finance banking app bc I earn 6% on ever dollar put in it. imo this is the future of saving and investing bc the stock market is so iffy and bank interest rates suck. hope this helps everyone:)
On impulse purchasing, freeze your credit. Make yourself have to take extra steps to open up your credit. This will help with credit thieves as well (though I am not sure how much, I have to think it’s better than just leaving it wide open).
Im 25 and i have 3000 dollars to my name. I really need to put these steps into my life.
Watching this and thinking: i’m already doing almost everything in this video.. was I born a minimalist?
As someone who is getting ready to hike the Grand Canyon, I can attest that camping gear is EXPENSIVE. You may not be saving anything at all especially if you aren’t into camping and won’t make a habit of it
Make it harder to use the money, invest it into a CD or IRA account which have penalties if you take it early
Great video. I am new to the channel, a fair saver myself, and think all your ideas to save are valid and valuable. I wonder if people watching this are already implementing many of them. I question if the $50,000 is practical with only the 25 things you mention, many of which are cost-reduction related. For many people, these ideas would need to be implemented to the extreme to save so much in 30 months. The average household income in the US is $59,039. How did you come up with $50,000 and what part of that is income related vs cost-reduction?
$50,000/913 days = $54.67/day or $382.69/week on average. Unless you are comparing to an excessive spender, I find it difficult to believe that your cost-reduction ideas directly saved you $50,000. Developing a side hustle and putting money in a savings account (or 401k, Roth Ira, investments, etc.) might, but they relate to your income. Regardless of the unlying factor, $50,000 saved is impressive, so nice job.
I am 19 and started working november of 2019. Now while in quarantine I looked back and saw that I did not have any money saved even though I worked for 8 months already!
I did not purchased like a car or new cellphone in which the majority of the money could go to. So all I did was to spend my money on things that nowadays do not bring me any sense of achievement or acquisition.
Loved the video and I will definitely put them to work! Thank you ❤
I’m a student n save 25% of my allowance. But I fail to stick to the budget n end up spending on useless things.
Thank you. I realized that my family applied almost all of your tips (and we don’t drink alcohol). Thanks to my parents, I’ve got such an abundantly minimal lifestyle.
I opened a account and have money going in each pay. It works
It would take me about 100 months to save 50.000$, if I wouldn’t spend a coin off of my salary. I have to pay for gas because I work in another town without a viable bus line and get breakfast each day at work. I have a big family that loves food so our fridge is always empty and I can’t make homemade breakfast. My grandparents always think we would throw away food if it wasn’t eaten by the end of the day so yeah…
Also 6 cats that looove to eat
I live in Charlotte and didn’t know about Charlotte on the cheap!! THANK YOU!! It’s so helpful!
Having some hard time understanding you sorry, really good video
Im 12 and im trying to save money for collage ik it must sound dumb but thats fine i dont want my parents to pay for everything im going to become independent
I’m extremely bad at saving . I’m at least going to try and save $5,000(AUD), by December!
If only I had been as wise as you. Your ideas are all spot on and will make such a difference in your finances in the long run. I would add that it is really important not to buy the most expensive house] can afford. The more expensive the house the more expensive the maintenance and taxes and other costs.
Hi Alyssa thanks for this great video! Where do you buy Quinoa in bulk in NYC?
Could you do a video on ways to make money without a job. I am not old enough to have a job so. Thanks and love your videos
Nr. 26. Bring to a shop an approximate amount of money for your shopping list only to avoid unnecessary spending.
Tracking your spending really is eye opening. I thought I had a good handle on my money but when I actually created a budget and tracked my spending I saw how much I wasted on unnecessary purchases.
Nice! With subscription services I have amazon prime because it covers everything. Prime video, prime music, prime pantry and free 2 day shipping. All under $10/month. You can drop Netflix/Hulu and Spotify. I’m also grateful that apple podcast is free! Save your $$
Love this video! So critical for me right now as I’m trying to do a no spend 6mths I just downloaded a money managing app to monitor spending and wow, my mind was blown. It’s funny how we reason some household items that are “needed” when really we could have happily lasted without. However, for me, saving first is the ULTIMATE tip here! You can think and wait on more stuff with this tip. For me, I normally want to hit a certain point in my savings that month and I rather see that grow than collect more objects or buy more expensive food for eg. Also make sure to spend that money on your life that matters to you so you feel fulfilled
Something to say about the 1Tip: people buy everything you sell! XD
I save money day by day for buying the things I realy need or want:)
12,000 in six months. You must have shit loads of money to start with or earn 2g a month and mommy and daddy pay for everything.
Nice Video clip! Sorry for butting in, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you researched Mahorrla Massive Wealth Method (do a google search)? It is an awesome exclusive product for improving your life and making big money using hypnosis without the headache. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my good mate called Gray got excellent success with it.
Guys,Health is wealth, maintain your health, its the most important thing
l learnt to save my money through lnvestment and it reaIIy works for me. and which for me ls the best way to save money. because that way you are aIso growing your funds asweII……… I’ve never been more happier this year….. And they say money can’t buy happiness but poverty can’t buy anything….
Glad I am a teen. I put 80 percent of my check into savings and 10 percent to tithing and 10 percent for activity
Me who is watching this video while not even making $12,000 in six months
I put 500 away every month, I don’t think 6k a year isn’t too bad for a 17 year old!
How to save money Just dont look at your money actually forget u even have money and but jt in ur piggy bank
I got my credit score increased by derickwalker454 he got the best tools for his work.
Studies have shown there is very little difference if any in organic and non organic foods. You can buy 5 dozen eggs for $8.99 at Costco. And buy meats for a fraction of the cost. Perhaps in some circles this would be money saving tips but for everyday people on a real budget, not so much!
Great video! Cars are a huge cost, one of my biggest expenses. Car payments are a huge money robber. Wish I had paid cash for my car.
get a small house is key, and close to town so you arent having to drive everywhere
Has anyone seen the budget spreadsheet that he mentioned? is there a link somewhere because I do not see it:(
Yeah and they taste like shit, aldi and lidl products are pure shit
My savings account in late August 2019 was $245. Today it is $29,678. It’s possible.
Broeh I’m sht out from South Africa man… I like how you cut this down to how we live socially…
Magic finger debtoffflipwordpresscom I really earn a lot from them
I am amazed with the sum >websterhackswordpresscom. offered me via bank hacked transfer.
Websterhackswordpresscom. did transaction with this service today.
Make your videos shorter. I got bored half way through the video and did not finish getting your advice.
It’s easy, peeps. Just don’t spend all of it and bank the rest.
If you still need help, its always good to start early, when your still living with your parents.
especially never borrow or lend out money. Spend what you got.
#4 was me a few months ago bc when fashion nova got 70% off I’m getting everything ♀️
My mom used to cook everyday. Once quarantine and uncertain times hit, she started cooking every 3 days or so, and no one has felt hungry because people just eat the same thing for 3 days straight. There’s nothing wrong with that. I actually admire how my mom knows how to administer herself.
Edit: To be more honest, no more pineapple orange banana juice, chocolate milk, or cookies have been bought. It broke my mom’s heart today when my nephew kept saying cookie cookie and she had to tell him there’s no cookies. However, better times shall come.
Just wonderful, been searching for “freedom road financial credit requirements” for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried Ferapt Freedom Fanboy (do a search on google )? Ive heard some decent things about it and my friend got excellent results with it.
Many people live with the idea of “What if i die tomorrow?” when it comes to money. But what if you live a very long time? It would be terrible to run out of money in your life time
Costco is a great place to buy in bulk and they have lots so vegan, organic and even kombucha which is pretty pricey elsewhere. Thank you for the tips
I save by thinking of a goal that i wanna reach or a large purchase i wanna make and when i meet the goal i don’t touch the money instead i think of a new goal and discipline my self to meet that new goal
i sold almost everyone of my stuff just to get money to buy a car.
Great video! I started budgeting in March and have saved over £2,000 already (as a student living in London!). The biggest game changer has being paying myself first, like your second/third tip!
Okay, what to do with saved money? I can save money, but I don’t know what to do next..
brooo yall should use fetch rewards it gives you points for just taking pictures of ur receipts and if you use someone else’s code you get 2K points. My code is KWKEQ
Amazing tips!! I was looking for something like this and there you are. Thank you!! Greetings from Chile:)
just purchased my dream sports car paid in c@sh all because of, e a s y l a p t o p l i f e.c o m
I got a beautiful Angora sweater made by Theory for 2.75 at the thrift store. It was a 300 dollar sweater and it had the brand new tag pinned onto it. It looks very nice with a simple paid of black slacks. Thrift stores are really great. I even started using my smart phone while I shopped to see how much certain items are selling for used online. So if something isn’t my size but looks really nice, I look to see… I found a sweater that doesn’t fit me and was able to sell it for 60 bucks on ebay. It paid for my shopping trip, the gas to get there, and left me with 20 dollars profit.:)
Also, as a massage therapist I wanted to wow my clients with Egyptian Satien sheets but they sell for over 100 dollars a set at most stores… So every time I find them at the thrift store I get those too.:)
I started saving from Jan 1 we Are in June I almost have 7gs
Iam a bit late but for example you wanna buy a game just an example
Just think about it for 7-14 days you probably don’t want it anymore and there you saved 50$ just a small tip but 50$ can lead to 100$:)
Yeh, this is great for people who get paid monthly. I’m self employed, I get paid on a daily basis. Any tips on how to save money? I find myself spending so much and struggling to save as I’m getting a different amount every day / week / month so it’s hard to budget,
Cheers
My 401k gets 15% of my Gross pay, which really helps with taxes and increases in investments. Then, i set aside another 20% into a savings account which i have for over 6 months of emergency expenses. Then the rest pays for my rent and food and insurance.
Youtube is international and what Nate forget is that his video is very focused on American consumers. Great for the Americans. Medical Bills does not exisit in Europe
Imagine that medical and hospital Bills were for free! That’s how it is in Europe.
Go figure how that is possiple
Brilliant, well done! I’m a fan. I also think these topics are needed
Yes food is a horrible investment. I saved a million dollars by not eating at all. It was tough at first but after about 3 days you don’t feel anything. At all
I definitely don’t spend close to $9000 on my car… insurance is definitely my biggest expense but I don’t have a car payment because I paid in cash and my car is pretty fuel efficient so I only pay about $10-15 (half a tank) for gas every two weeks. I probably spend closer to $2500-$3000. If I was putting $9000 a year into my car I would turn around and sell it in a heartbeat
Another great way to save money is to learn to be resourceful with your vehicle. Buy parts and install it yourself. For example, in BC Canada, a 200 dollar clutch can cost about 1200 dollars after labour. You can also save about 20 dollars by changing your own engine oil, and so on and so on. DYI is time consuming, but if you can swing it into your schedule, DO IT!!
well i tried it, but the only thing i managed to save is the peceipts of the transactions…
YOU NOOBS JUST BUY A MICROWAVE LOTS OF RAMEN AND A GOOD WUTARRR SOURCE
I LOVE that you’re being really intentional with your channel and your upload strategy is paying off. You’re inspiring me!!! Keep up the good work!! You go chica!!!
Why is home economics in school teaching this shit? Simple savings is essential, we should be teaching kids these strategies early.
I currently have 3 dollars because currency in my country is very low 1 dollar would equal to 50philippine pesos.
As of may 25 2020 i have 3 dollars in savings
Ill keep updating this comment:)
Step 1 to saving 12k in 6 months: make 2k/month more than your bills.
Love this Nate! One of the goals for this year is to save $25k from our 9-5! We actually just shared some of our thoughts on a recent video and I think Fiverr and Upwork can do wonders in supplementing your main income source ✨
I make 800 dollars a week and I pay 400 rent every month and I spend my money on shoes clothes and eating outside and hotels no wonder why I always don’t have money and I’m 22 I need to save money plz someone help me what can I doe
Great video Nate! Automatic withdrawals 30% savings/investments & 70% for everything else.
I am saving 180$ for a pc. Starting from today. My pc broke down 1 year ago
I don’t know how old you are, but I am 20 year old watching this video for the first time I can personally say, you have been very well raised and your wisdom is extremely outstanding. Thank you for sharing this with us, personally it helped a lot, to understand and have a clear understanding.
Step 1: Don’t be depressed.
that way you dont spend all of your money on food and nice things all the time:):):):)
Howdy Nate! I know this video is a bit old, but I’d love to have access to that budget template you mentioned if it’s still available:)
hOMEpAY.m e is an exquisite Employment’s web website for speak to PayPal cash enough without dwelling your home. for my wife, it’s Rousing.
“12k in 6 month might not seem like a lot ” ouch thats my income
Poshmark for women’s clothes!!! I buy new clothes and designer brands for 75% off. You can bargain too.
If there was a way to save money on gas and electricity, would you want to know about it?
What and where did you get the freezer bags you used in this video?
I’m in high school, and tbh I don’t wanna have a gf rn, I don’t wanna spent so much money on someone who’s probably gonna cheat on me in months, i just focus of my studies and saving money. I’m saving up to buy a 32 inch curved pc for like $800-900. Or a Samsung tab a 10.1. My plan is every time I go to school and I get money for school, I put down half of my money and leave it at home then automatically withdraw it in the bank. When I go to school, im forced to spend only the latter half, which is good. Because when I bring all my school money, I get tempted to buy at my favorite fast food restaurant. This is a strict, but but good strategy.
See the issue with this is that 2k a month is literally more than my gross income, let alone my net
I’m gonna start saving up to get my first apartment any tips?
Wow and a year later we are hit covid19 virus and government justs gave sone people 1200..justs wow
