Great video!!! I have fasted away 74 lbs in the last 121 days. For obese people I believe you will have increased energy because we have fat for fuel and from my experience I have overall increased energy. I no longer press the snooze button. Been pressing snooze my entire life 1 or 2 times a morning. When I get to 100 lbs lost I will do intermittent fasting and OMAD. I went to the gym probably 75 times in those 120 days but I agree people should not exercise or do light exercise. Biggest con for me is I am 41 and never knew the pro’s of fasting until now. I was morbidly obese from age 14 to 41. Thank you for spreading the word! I do regret losing so much muscle. I highly recommend people fasting for weight loss to LIFT on refeed days to minimize muscle loss.

Day 1: it was not hard at all, I felt good, watched movies to distract me from food. I did drank a lot of water, feeling amazing!

Try adding salt next time! It helps so much to prevent getting dizzy, light-headed, getting really cold, and headaches. Highly recommend a mix of pink salt & potassium salt/”No Salt”, but regular table salt is better than nothing ☺️✌️. Good luck!

I highly recommend you research SIBO. Lack of bowel movements is one of the ways this shows up in people. It is not easy to get rid of, and there are many approaches to get rid of it, so much more than I can put in a youtube comment.

For me kale, spinach, and other greens are great sources of fiber and nutrients. Enjoy smoothies made with 1 bunch of any greens + 2 fruits in the morning and ad potatoes or roots to every meal should help you use the restroom because of their rich content of fiber.

“No supplements” means no electrolytes. This is wrong. You should consume salt and Potassium while water fasting. And coffee and tea, better yet green tea is beneficial.

I’m unfortunately 400ish lbs so I have a lot of work to do. My choice for doing this is because I was supposed to go to a job interview yesterday but after walking less than 2 blocks I had to make 3 pit stops because my back was hurting. I did not feel any increased alertness or epinephrine, and wanted to sleep all the time during the first 2 days, which made them easier to pass. I began to feel normal only during the 4th day. I think this mechanism isn’t well designed for survival, or it requires a special diet beforehand to get the epinephrine. Only worth attempting this for 5 days or longer to go through the low strength phase only once. The weight loss after 5 days was pathetic, only about 3 kilos. Worst aspect during the process was the horrible taste of ketones, strongest on days 3 to 4. Decade old fat being recycled.

I started on the 16-8 intermittent fasting. After a few weeks I added interval day fasting. Once I was able to do that I kicked it into 3 day water fast. The first few times I actually ended up eating towards the end of second day which made me quite upset. However I did manage to do it after the second try. I’ve thought about doing the water diet to help jump start the process, but I don’t think I can manage without food for that long. Do you think I can mix the water diet with small bits of foods with no carbs and get similar results? One of my pet peeves when I view diet and fasting related videos is the very prevalent (in my opinion, incorrect) assumption that we evolved rather than were created by a loving God. You use real testable and repeatable science about what is going on in our cells but then regress to telling fanciful fairy tales about how this all came to be. It is impossible to be an expert in all fields but it is becoming increasingly obvious real evolution is statistically impossible. Not just slightly impossible but fantastically impossible. But the paradigm of evolution cannot easily be opposed. It often costs scientists and professors there livelihood if they refuse to buckle and comply. It is similar to opposing the paradigm that processed foods are healthy and good for us. The main issue is, that if we realize evolution is false then we might have to deal with the possibility that there is a God and the bible might be true. My experience is that it has been a pleasant discovery for me. Please keep up this excellent work discovering how a Loving God made and maintains such fantastic creatures that we are. FYI I am a 71 yr old man in the 8th day of a water fast (mostly, but with black coffee. Three times with cream. I caved:) ) I have lost about 16 lbs. and feel great without any real hunger issues, only “that looks very tasty issues”. When I break my fast I will likely try a carnivore diet then fast again till i reach my goal which is 44 lbs away. The pain from inflammation left after a few days (I am convinced it was processed food induced). I came to your video to find out about electrolytes. It helped.

@Dorian Wilson You’ve done an amazing job pointing out the dangers of refeeding syndrome, which are very real and very serious.
Looking at your preferred electrolyte supplement, I was confused at the amount of potassium since the FDA (and similar agencies in other countries) disallow supplements with more than 100mg of potassium in a single dose.
It does seem odd that the allowed amount is so small compared to daily allowance/recommended daily intake (4000mg) and lots of people are angry that the allowed dose is so small. However, it turns out there’s good reason for this apparently even relatively small concentrated doses of potassium can cause bowel lesions, or worse, hearth arrythmia and other potentially fatal effects.
Confused, I’ve asked pharmacists and doctors about electrolytes in general and in the context of fasting in particular and they basically agree say that in clinical settings (whether medically supervised fast or patients who can’t eat or risk electrolyte imbalances for other reasons) electrolytes are continually monitored with blood and other tests and only carefully tweaked to remain within very tight ranges since even small perturbations can be very dangerous. Messing around with electrolytes yourself, without such monitoring, whether based on what is on paper sounds calculations or not, is not recommended and can be incredibly dangerous.
I don’t know where this leaves us. For me, I only really do 2, max 3 day fasts which probably don’t deplete me that much anyway, and a bit of Hydralyte (regular electrolyte tablets that don’t have so much potassium) is what I use. (not saying it’s good or bad, it’s just what I do)
I’m posting this wall of text because overall I think your video is good but I would be interested to hear what you have about this it would suck if you inadvertently are actually giving advice which is potentially similarly harmful to that doled out by you-know-who.

I know that on 1st and 2nd day after the fast, especially water fast which is harder, should only fruits and on 2nd day mild carbohydrates (like brown rice soup, steamed potato and steamed vegetables for example) be consumed. No proteins at all, like no meat, no diary, no nuts!!, anything that is protein. It can do more harm if doing like that, I heard this long long time ago when started fasting with squuezed orange lemon and grapefruit juice.

Goal weight loss 25kg
im currently finishing my first day, but while i was doing it i did things to take my mind off food. i walked, painted, slept, did my makeup, etc. i also bought a bunch of snacks. so the reason i bought them was so that i could fight mentally and not be tempted to eat them. everytime i think abt eating them i tell myself “theyre going to be there in three days, you can eat them after” and it works. however most of the time i do try and just sleep through it.
Drinking electrolytes is helpful but that is what takes your energy away just little FYI
Another problem with a calorie restrictive diet is that your body will adapt to the lower calorie intake and then you will have to eat less and less as your body adapts to lose weight so fasting is way better

I am at 32 hours mark now. I lost whopping 7 pounds already. lol.. i ate so much 2 days ago till 4 am in the morning. now i have not eaten anything but water since then.. I guess these are just food weight.. but my body feels so much better now considering how much bad stuff I have been forcing into my body. my goal is 7 days but I don’t know.. maybe I may break it around 48 to 56 hours mark again.. longest I could go for was 72 hours.:D I need to lose like 50 lbs so 7 lbs is like nothing.. i know that 7 lbs will come back in one sitting of heavy eating.:)

Guys… when you do water fasts make SURE you have electrolytes. Add sodium and potassium to your water to avoid feeling dizzy and to stay energized.
water fasting is great! I did a 7 day one and every night I would take half a teaspoon of iodized salt and a full teaspoon of apple cider vinegar just to keep my nutrients and to keep my metabolism stable

That was a nice piece but you really might consider interviewing someone a little more substantial than a registered dietitian who can’t even point to or quote the studies to which she refers. May I suggest you interview Jason Fung M.D., of Toronto, the world’s leading authority, and the author of The Obesity Code and The Diabetes Code who has HEALED people of Type 2 Diabetes with planned fasts? I personally have lowered my blood pressure enough so that my M.D. has taken me off of my BP meds. Awesome practice.
A couple years back I planned to do a 3-day water fast. I worked in a school and there were end of year parties everyday for a week. I binged on things I’d rather not mention.. It was tough. In order keep myself from eating I would research new info to reinforce why I was fasting. This encouraged me to go beyond 3 days to 5 days to 7 days and eventually I went 10 days on water and sea salt.
Day 8 I remodeled my room. Took apart an extra bed that had been in my room and put it in the attic. It was one of the best decisions of my life; the clarity of mind is amazing. This video is making me want to do it again. I’ve fallen off the holistic path and can use a healing boost.

He left her married someone else and had kids and unplugged her machine and she died? She just ended up staring at the wall? Were you replenishing any electrolytes such as sodium, magnesium and potassium during your fast? I heard this is why you can get lightheaded during you fast, while sodium is quite important for your blood pressure and bone health during your fast.
I’m about 136lbs and approx. 5ft 4in. I’m quite curious about doing a water fast but it kind of scares me too i’m yet to actually watch this video so hopefully it will give me some good info! I was addicted to food because of depression and fake friends made me felt shame on my body, I was 58 kg before but now iam almost 62. The first time I heard about water fasting challenge was in March I tried many time to keep on the challenge to get my body back to itself but I couldn’t continue at all because I completely addicted but after 5 month’s I realized it’s not about body or shaming on myself it’s all about accepting yourself and make it better life is more fantastic without addiction, now I am deciding to free myself to any attachment in my life

I started with 7 days water fasting because I read that water fasting may help with some health issues. before my first fasting I had been taking pain killers and migraine medication everyday for about 4 years. After the water fasting, I literally stopped taking the medication. Now I take them rarely, mostly during my period. I am not saying it will work for everyone but water fasting does have some benefits aside from losing weight when done properly. Now I am on my 3rd 14 days water fasting.

So I am somewhat fasting. Today I ate cereal, July 27 and 26 I had one row of saltine crackers, and July 25 I had cereal. You should be in a ketosis state before starting a water fast. It makes it so much easier, plus, you are already in a fat burning mode when you start the fast. If you are not in a ketosis state when you start, you are using your fasting days to get into a ketosis state and it’s always water weight the first to go, so that’s why there will always be a big drop on the scale due to water weight.
I definitely didn’t prepare I just went into it but that’s how I have to be specifically me bc if I think to her about it or start telling people I fail. I’m on day 3 and I don’t feel as bad as I thought. I haven’t kept track of my weight loss but that’s why I’m doing it. I will try my best to break this fast the correct way

I started with intermittent, worked up to 3 days, then 10, now I’m day 6 of 21. Each fast was easier and easier. No more than one fasting period each month. 4 months I’ve lost 55 lbs
On day three now. Not so bad. Hopefully I sleep in so I have less time awake feeling hungry

About your question. I had also problem with my tummy. I started to use Chlorella green little pills (available also as a power), I take like 20 pcs every morning. And about 30 min before eating breakfast/dinner, I drink organic Raw apple cider vinegar.

Love the video. I start with OMAD, some what intermitting fasting. I drink water all day and then have one healthy meal around 5pm. From there I was able to go into fasting for 24 hours and then expanding it. But fasting is so good for you, so many benefits. I love the spiritual aspect it.

For regular bowel movements, eat lots of raw vegetables because they are full of fiber and feed the good bacteria!! The more fruits and vegetables the better.

so in theory, if you are on ketogenic diet and already in ketosis. going into a fast you would reach alot of these benefits in a shorter time. so a 16 hour fast could be same as eating carb and going into 30 hour fast.

Have you tried eating things like papaya, flax seeds, chia seeds, watermelon? Those generally help with bowel movements. I’m not sure what your current diet is likebut a diet high in animal products and low in fruits & veggies will make you not have to go often.

Instead I feel exhausted all day long, have problems with sleeping, feel stressed all day long. I only drink water and green tea, do a light 15 min workout or Yoga session and walk 5000 steps a day. Can you help me to find out what am I doing wrong??? Before I started water fasting I did intermittent fasting 18:6 for 3 weeks.

Common body building knowledge says consume a protein shake 1hr before workout. But I get the best performance and euphoric feelings from work outs after around 16-18hr fast and Ive always found it strange. This video has helped me explain. Thank you!

I have been on the OMAD diet( 24 hour fast daily) for the past two months. My hunger level dropped significantly. At first it felt like starving to death. Now it’s just normal routine. I can finally sleep without having to eat something gross now!

I’m 23 hours in to a 36 hour fast so I had to scroll down during the food photos! I feel fine at the moment but the last time, I cracked at 23 hours and regretted it almost immediately. I thought, ”huh, I wasn’t that hungry, why did I do that?”. Watching this makes me know I can do it.
Enjoyed your video. Currently in a 36 hr fast to jumpstart clean eating again. This WOL is the best way to stay young n healthy. I am going to b 58 n I feel 30 when I’m fasting consistently. 2-3 times a week. I just wanted to recommend mct oil in your tea or coffee n drizzle over salad or in sauces. It really helps to keep bowels moving but start small doses to see how it works. I hope that helps. Sorry just being a mom because I had same issues my whole life. Keep up the great video’s!

Oh I wish I was doing 36hrs,,,,iam doin a 7 day water fasting water pink salt water and tea that’s it iam on day 5 so 2 more days,,,, I did a 4 day fast just before this one and lost 10lbs yay
